- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome back to How Hard Can It Be? I'm Diana
- 0:06Speaker 1: made Ariba, your host, and I'm here with another happy
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour episode with Tina Changing, my bestie of over forty years,
- 0:17Speaker 1: logging on from my hometown in Cincinnati, Ohio. And little
- 0:20Speaker 1: did we know we would be here, you know, from
- 0:22Speaker 1: the halls of sant Antoninas Parish.
- 0:24Speaker 2: And from the Huffy bikes.
- 0:26Speaker 1: From the bikes that we would ride in the neighborhood.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Here we are talking about our favorite episodes. Listen. The
- 0:34Speaker 1: episode with Constance Marie was just so fun, was it not.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I was fangirling about the dancing with Prince Yeah and
- 0:47Speaker 2: David Bowie.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah. I was a back end dancer.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and I danced with her at your birthday party,
- 0:53Speaker 3: So technically I danced with David Bowie and Prince because
- 0:57Speaker 3: Constance danced.
- 0:58Speaker 2: That's right, sowhere.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you are a degree of separation and that's all
- 1:08Speaker 1: you need.
- 1:08Speaker 2: That's all I need.
- 1:09Speaker 1: You are. You are not a demanding person. That is
- 1:12Speaker 1: all you need. Let me ask you something, because Constant
- 1:14Speaker 1: touched on something that I feel like you can relate to.
- 1:16Speaker 1: She talked about how she had this pivotal moment in
- 1:19Speaker 1: her life where she realized that in the household totem Pole,
- 1:23Speaker 1: she was number five and that included the pets. Yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 1: that was sad, that was That's a real but it's
- 1:30Speaker 1: a big reality for a lot of women.
- 1:32Speaker 2: There, and it's very true for a lot of women.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Didn't you ever feel that way?
- 1:37Speaker 2: No?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Oh, oh, you are an anomaly.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I guess it's because though in my own head, I mean,
- 1:45Speaker 3: I might have been fifth or sixth. Yeah, but in
- 1:48Speaker 3: my own head, in my own household, I'm I'm you know,
- 1:52Speaker 3: everyone needs me, and I'm at the top.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I'm queen.
- 1:55Speaker 2: They will all falter without me, no doubt.
- 2:01Speaker 1: That's the mindset to have.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I mean, I probably was very much at the bottom,
- 2:05Speaker 2: but I'm saying, in my own head, I never felt
- 2:08Speaker 2: that way.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That's good.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I never felt that way.
- 2:11Speaker 3: My husband has never let me feel that way. We've
- 2:13Speaker 3: always made sure that we have to, you know, to
- 2:19Speaker 3: to our kids, displayed that the couple, the relationship is
- 2:24Speaker 3: the you know, meat of the family and it is
- 2:27Speaker 3: the reason that we all are here together.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And this is you know, this needs fed too, This
- 2:33Speaker 2: needs love and comfort and it needs its time. And
- 2:37Speaker 2: you know, we still date, We still.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Go out on dates and even though there's no one
- 2:43Speaker 3: here and it's a random Tuesday, there's still a date night.
- 2:47Speaker 1: So that's that's that's that's definitely the secret. I'm sure
- 2:50Speaker 1: of it.
- 2:51Speaker 3: How do you?
- 2:51Speaker 1: How has it been for you? And you know because
- 2:54Speaker 1: here I am by your side as your best sie
- 2:57Speaker 1: of all these years and that wasn't my life. I
- 2:59Speaker 1: did have a lot marriage, not thirty five years, but
- 3:02Speaker 1: I had one that was you know, that brought my
- 3:05Speaker 1: two beautiful souls into the world. And I had step
- 3:09Speaker 1: children that I was a stepmother too, and I cared
- 3:11Speaker 1: about them and loved them deeply.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But that marriage gave, gave, gave, you gave a lot
- 3:19Speaker 2: of your I did.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I did, and then I found myself in similar situation
- 3:25Speaker 1: as Constance, where I felt like I deserved love too.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I didn't date in front of my children until they
- 3:32Speaker 1: were like off in college, though, And you remember that.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I do remember that. I remember picking through just you know,
- 3:44Speaker 2: maybe not, Oh.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I remember I remember one time before I met my guy.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Mm hmm, before I met my guy.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I already know this story. I already know.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Gohead, I don't think, do you? When I called you
- 3:57Speaker 1: and Mike so Sina and I would have happy hours.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Like I spent many of Friday nights, many of Friday
- 4:02Speaker 1: nights at home alone, and I would call you up
- 4:06Speaker 1: and say, can we do a bar night? And you, guys,
- 4:09Speaker 1: because you were three hours ahead. You were just home
- 4:11Speaker 1: from the bars or going out or what to dinner, whatever,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and you're like, yeah, came the party going. And we
- 4:16Speaker 1: would log on FaceTime and I would have my little
- 4:19Speaker 1: glass of wine in my house and you were my
- 4:22Speaker 1: You guys were my social life. And I remember saying,
- 4:25Speaker 1: I just want to kiss somebody. Do you remember that?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Is that what you remember?
- 4:32Speaker 2: That's one of them? No, okay, because I'm afraid of
- 4:34Speaker 2: what you're going to say.
- 4:35Speaker 3: The one I was thinking about, which is very similar
- 4:38Speaker 3: to a bar night where we would either meet and
- 4:40Speaker 3: we would talk about it. We're going to meet Are
- 4:42Speaker 3: we going to meet for tequila tonight? Are we going
- 4:44Speaker 3: to meet for wine tonight? What kind of mood are
- 4:46Speaker 3: we in? And we would meet up at the bar.
- 4:50Speaker 3: And the one night you shared your screen and we
- 4:54Speaker 3: got to look at these lunatics.
- 4:59Speaker 2: And we laughed hysterically for hours on the dating app
- 5:05Speaker 2: living through and here you're living it, but we're living through.
- 5:08Speaker 2: You're going and then we had like debate. Yeah, and
- 5:11Speaker 2: then there was probably some.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I don't know, probably some bald headed construction dude that
- 5:17Speaker 3: Mike was probably like, yeah, I like him, but he
- 5:22Speaker 3: probably had a stupid prompt that we didn't like.
- 5:26Speaker 1: It didn't Yeah, it was about the language for us
- 5:28Speaker 1: and the fact that he was he was was that
- 5:33Speaker 1: cartoon what was that cartoon guy? Tim?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Not the little Bob the buildolder.
- 5:39Speaker 1: He was like a Bob the Builder and Mike is
- 5:41Speaker 1: like that guy, and.
- 5:42Speaker 2: You and I would just look at each other.
- 5:44Speaker 1: But yeah, he's a he's a nice looking guy, but
- 5:47Speaker 1: his favorite pastime is something that I couldn't relate to.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I know, I do remember that, but I remember telling
- 5:52Speaker 1: you guys, I'm like, I just want to kiss someone,
- 5:53Speaker 1: like I want to have a makeout session. And you're like,
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm on it. Uh. You're like, next time you come
- 5:59Speaker 1: in town, because I come and I come home. I
- 6:01Speaker 1: come home like twice a year. You're like, when you're
- 6:02Speaker 1: here for the fourth of July, I got you. I'm
- 6:05Speaker 1: going to find somebody And you actually did.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I did.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You had someone on what do you call it on deck?
- 6:12Speaker 1: You had somebody on deck, somebody ready to go that
- 6:15Speaker 1: we had known for many years, actually like a friend
- 6:18Speaker 1: of ours. But it didn't happen. It didn't happen because
- 6:22Speaker 1: that'd been weird. I'd be like, Hi, can I make
- 6:24Speaker 1: out with you? I just want to make god nothing else,
- 6:26Speaker 1: just just make out, and then this is weird.
- 6:28Speaker 2: This is so weird.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It would have been better almost if it had been
- 6:31Speaker 1: a stranger. But then I'm like, eh, I don't like
- 6:33Speaker 1: the kids strangers.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Dada da, How was there was a thirty two year
- 6:37Speaker 3: old that wanted to make out with you?
- 6:40Speaker 2: The thirty two year old?
- 6:41Speaker 3: Remember we discussed that we could be as mother, no all,
- 6:46Speaker 3: the thirty two year old.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I'm forgetting this.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, flatter my ego please, because I don't remember that.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You were at a party. Oh I remember this badly
- 6:56Speaker 2: because here I am married one hundred thousand years going.
- 6:59Speaker 3: What you did?
- 7:04Speaker 1: You did not and you did it, and I wouldn't
- 7:06Speaker 1: I say you.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Said no because your dignity came through and said to
- 7:16Speaker 2: this young man, listen, sonny. There's some things like there's
- 7:27Speaker 2: this just this age factor, like I can I can
- 7:29Speaker 2: handle a few years here and there, but this is a.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Future too much like if I had started. If I
- 7:35Speaker 1: had gotten married when I was twenty one, like you,
- 7:37Speaker 1: he could have been my son that was.
- 7:39Speaker 2: In your dying to make out era, So I thought maybe.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I don't know why I don't remember that,
- 7:44Speaker 1: but it's on it tracks. It's on par with me.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I you know, there was that element of me too
- 7:48Speaker 1: that's just like shy and I'm like, I don't want
- 7:50Speaker 1: to make out on this. Well, you know, I loved
- 7:53Speaker 1: hearing those stories and I did. I appreciate you helping
- 7:56Speaker 1: me scout at the time because it was worth it.
- 7:58Speaker 1: And I found my guy.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and we love him. We do love him.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Here's to you know, random men coming up to you
