Speaker 3: this Saturday, the Canaw Valley getting a new farmers market
• 2:30
Speaker 3: with the opening of the South Charleston Farmers Market. As
• 2:32
Speaker 3: Shawn Azuniga is here from the city of South Charleston,
• 2:35
Speaker 3: talk about it. Welcome to the show, sir.
• 2:37
Speaker 4: Thanks for having me today, happy to be here.
• 2:38
Speaker 3: Thank you for being here. Out of lower your mica
• 2:40
Speaker 3: a little bit, man, you let that big booming voice,
• 2:43
Speaker 3: so tell us about the farmers market.
• 2:45
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 2:45
Speaker 7: So this has been something that's been in the works
• 2:47
Speaker 7: for a couple of years now and we're just finally
• 2:50
Speaker 7: trying to getting it over the finish line. So we
• 2:53
Speaker 7: will upen Mother's Day weekend, which is this Saturday, May tenth.
• 2:57
Speaker 7: Ribbon Cunning at eight thirty pm have Gritz Farm, Gris Midway, Greenhouse,
• 3:03
Speaker 7: d Nas Farms, Still Blooming, Honeydew Produce, Debby's Corner of Greenhouse,
• 3:11
Speaker 7: Sunset Berry Farms selling their produce and flowers, and we'll
• 3:16
Speaker 7: also have some mom and pop shops.
• 3:19
Speaker 3: How many vendors total, I mean ballpark figure.
• 3:21
Speaker 4: About fifteen, about fifteen or still okay.
• 3:24
Speaker 3: And it's amazing the popularity of farmers' markets there in
• 3:26
Speaker 3: the last couple of years. People love it, man, I mean,
• 3:29
Speaker 3: and it's it's different type things. As you said, it's
• 3:31
Speaker 3: not necessarily just what it's not. It's not just cucumbers anymore.
• 3:34
Speaker 3: There's a whole lot more to it than that.
• 3:36
Speaker 7: Yeah, so it's gonna be kind of unique. We actually
• 3:39
Speaker 7: have a vendor called honey Do Produce. He's gonna who
• 3:44
Speaker 7: He's gonna be selling the chickens, the lambs, the goat
• 3:47
Speaker 7: and the pork. So that's that's exciting there. And then
• 3:51
Speaker 7: we have Still Blooming who does the still flowers as well.
• 3:55
Speaker 7: So it is a unique market. I think it's gonna
• 3:58
  Speaker 7: be one of those places where it's a it's a
• 4:00
Speaker 7: one stop shop and.
• 4:01
Speaker 3: Where exactly is it so people know?
• 4:03
Speaker 7: So it's so the address is four thousand and six
• 4:05
Speaker 7: Mycrocol Avenue, southwest and South Charleston. So if you're if
• 4:09
Speaker 7: you're familiar with the area, is right behind Wendy's on
• 4:12
Speaker 7: my Cocol Avenue, right under the Interstate Bridge where the
• 4:15
Speaker 7: old rever nd used to be.
• 4:16
Speaker 3: All right, and you talked about the the process to
• 4:19
Speaker 3: get here, it's been luck it's been talked about. It's
• 4:21
Speaker 3: a long process to be able to get this thing
• 4:22
Speaker 3: up and running right.
• 4:23
Speaker 7: Yeah, So we have a lot of irons in the
• 4:26
Speaker 7: fire right now. And you know, this is just something
• 4:28
Speaker 7: that mayor wanted to wanted to get in there and
• 4:31
Speaker 7: after the community because the more things we can offer,
• 4:34
Speaker 7: the better quality offer, the better quality of life of
• 4:37
  Speaker 7: the community.
• 4:38
Speaker 3: And I want to get back to We'll get back
• 4:39
Speaker 3: to the farmer's market here momentary, but I want to
• 4:41
Speaker 3: talk about some of the things going on in South
• 4:43
Speaker 3: Charleston right now, because you got a lot of stuff
• 4:44
Speaker 3: going on. There is a big cleanup I think is
• 4:46
Speaker 3: that is that this Saturday time that's just set. Yes,
• 4:49
Speaker 3: this talk about that clean up.
• 4:50
Speaker 7: This Saturday, eight am to one pm is our annual
• 4:53
Speaker 7: spring cleanup for Jefferson Road East in South Charleston. Our
• 4:59
Speaker 7: first was last Saturday for Jefferson Road West, so that's
• 5:04
Speaker 7: this Saturday, eight am to one pm. If you got
• 5:07
Speaker 7: any questions on what you can put out, just call
• 5:10
Speaker 7: uh the public Works.
• 5:11
Speaker 3: Department, okay, and they'll give you all the information.
• 5:13
  Speaker 7: There.
• 5:13
Speaker 3: Again, a lot of the communities, I know, Charleston's in
• 5:15
Speaker 3: several and throughout the county. There's a lot of It's
• 5:18
Speaker 3: a great time to do that, man.
• 5:19
Speaker 4: Yep, yeap, indeed it is.
• 5:22
Speaker 3: So do you still have vendor space available? Gets go
• 5:25
Speaker 3: back to the Farmer's market You still have vendor space?
• 5:27
Speaker 4: We do. We have.
• 5:28
Speaker 7: We have a couple of spaces available underneath our shelter.
• 5:31
Speaker 7: So for anyone interest and can give me a call
• 5:34
Speaker 7: at three zero four four four zero twenty one sixty
• 5:39
Speaker 7: and now return their phone call. But we have we
• 5:41
Speaker 7: have fifty by forty spaces available.
• 5:44
Speaker 3: Okay. Is there anything that you'd like to have the
• 5:47
  Speaker 3: Farmer's marketing?
• 5:48
Speaker 7: Maybe you don't. Did you want to put putting a
• 5:50
Speaker 7: peel out to Yeah? Yeah, yeah, So thanks for asking
• 5:51
Speaker 7: that question. So something that we're looking for is we
• 5:54
Speaker 7: have we have the chickens and lambs and porks in
• 5:57
Speaker 7: the and the goat. We're looking for beef. So any
• 6:01
Speaker 7: any beef vendors out there that is that is one
• 6:04
Speaker 7: of the things that we're.
• 6:04
Speaker 3: Looking for, Okay, And how do they get in touch
• 6:06
  Speaker 3: with you?
• 6:07
Speaker 4: They can just call me, call my office.
• 6:09
Speaker 3: At city Hall. What's your number there?
• 6:11
Speaker 4: Three zero four four four zero twenty one sixty.
• 6:14
Speaker 3: Okay, So we're looking for beef vendors, yep, beef vendors.
• 6:17
Speaker 3: Talk about some other things going on in South Charleston,
• 6:19
  Speaker 3: a lot of economic development. I know there's been a
• 6:22
Speaker 3: lot of a lot of the news about the mall
• 6:24
Speaker 3: project that's going on out there.
• 6:25
Speaker 7: Just what else is going on in the Yeah, there's
• 6:28
Speaker 7: a lot going on. And what I told our our
• 6:31
Speaker 7: farmers market vendors the other day is where they're located
• 6:35
Speaker 7: at there's economic development going on to the left of them,
• 6:37
Speaker 7: in front of them, and to the right. So there's
• 6:39
Speaker 7: going to be a very high traffic area right there.
• 6:42
Speaker 7: And we're looking at some of these businesses starting this
• 6:47
Speaker 7: summer at the new shopping center, so we'll start seeing
• 6:51
Speaker 7: some activity there and we're going to have something going
• 6:56
Speaker 7: on down across the sheets as well, cork Ui Avenue
• 7:01
Speaker 7: and the road, the Interstate project is supposed to be
• 7:07
Speaker 7: done by the end of this year, so and then
• 7:10
Speaker 7: we're looking at doing some development across the street from
• 7:13
Speaker 7: the community center as well.
• 7:15
Speaker 3: Okay, talking to Shawn Zandiget again from the City of
• 7:18
Speaker 3: South Charlesto for Dave Island showing five any line brought
• 7:20
Speaker 3: to you apart by snap Fitness with a wide selection
• 7:22
Speaker 3: of equipment including free weights, cardio machine, weights and more.
• 7:25
Speaker 3: Five convenient locations Charleston, Hurricane, Winfield, Barbersville at Milton Business
• 7:29
Speaker 3: snapitness dot Com for more totals. Let's talk about these
• 7:32
Speaker 3: road projects, man, because on Jefferson Road and things of
• 7:34
  Speaker 3: that nature. It's it's been a process, but I think
• 7:36
Speaker 3: it's going to be worth it in the end.
• 7:38
  Speaker 8: Yeah.
• 7:38
Speaker 7: I mean, anytime, anytime there's progress or there's gonna be inconvenience.
• 7:42
Speaker 7: So I mean, I think I think once this is
• 7:44
Speaker 7: all said and done, it's just everyone's going to be
• 7:47
Speaker 7: happy with with the changes of the road over there,
• 7:49
Speaker 7: and there's going to be less congestion over there as well.
• 7:53
  Speaker 4: On Jefferson.
• 7:54
Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's that's been a problem, you know, for years.
• 7:57
  Speaker 3: I guess it's a I guess it's a good problem
• 7:59
Speaker 3: to have have you know, uh, and it's and it
• 8:02
Speaker 3: takes them getting used to there too because with the
• 8:04
Speaker 3: with the traffic pattern and uh and again all the
• 8:07
Speaker 3: work and I've been one that has set for many
• 8:10
Speaker 3: many minutes on Jefferson Road try and especially if a
• 8:14
  Speaker 3: train's going through.
• 8:14
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 8:15
Speaker 9: Yeah, we had a question here. I don't know whether
• 8:19
Speaker 9: you can answer this or not about the clean up
• 8:21
Speaker 9: in the South Ridge area.
• 8:22
Speaker 4: Is that something that you so that was that was
• 8:24
  Speaker 4: last weekend?
• 8:25
Speaker 3: Okay, last weekend? Yep, okay, all right? What is it
• 8:28
Speaker 3: that makes South Charleston such an appealing place for people
• 8:32
Speaker 3: to want to come to? I mean, how do you
• 8:33
  Speaker 3: you're at you're a you're at an event, you're on
• 8:35
Speaker 3: an elevator or whatever. And somebody says, why shouldn't I
• 8:37
Speaker 3: move my business? Why should move my family to South Charleston?
• 8:41
Speaker 3: What is it about it, Sean that makes that makes
• 8:44
Speaker 3: it appealing to people?
• 8:45
Speaker 7: Well, I would say one of the biggest things for
• 8:46
Speaker 7: us is is our city services. I mean through second
• 8:50
Speaker 7: to none. I mean, your trash gets picked up twice
• 8:52
Speaker 7: a week. Snow detail you don't really worry about the
• 8:55
Speaker 7: rose in south Frost and when it snows at all,
• 8:58
Speaker 7: We get pictures sent to us all the time where
• 9:00
Speaker 7: there's where there's lines either given coming from each direction
• 9:04
Speaker 7: and other cities and ours are clear and they're still
• 9:06
Speaker 7: have snow on them, So you can't really beat our
• 9:09
Speaker 7: snow detail. But I would say, you know, it's our
• 9:12
Speaker 7: city services. And then also too, you know Mayor Mallins
• 9:16
Speaker 7: he has his vision and he really cares about the city,
• 9:19
Speaker 7: and everything he does is based off community ideas, so
• 9:25
Speaker 7: you know, he's always telling us, the more things we're
• 9:26
Speaker 7: going to offer the community, the better quality of life.
• 9:29
Speaker 3: Got a text here for you says there's one store
• 9:31
Speaker 3: I've always wanted to see here. Have you ever thought
• 9:33
Speaker 3: about contacting Ikea about putting his store in the new plaza?
• 9:37
Speaker 4: You know, I think I think that they've been in
• 9:41
  Speaker 4: touch with us.
• 9:41
Speaker 7: I'm not one hundred percent sure on that, but I
• 9:44
Speaker 7: think one thing people need to understand is where we
• 9:46
Speaker 7: are at the mercy of these places, whether they want
• 9:49
Speaker 7: to come to us or not.
• 9:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not as simple. I think sometimes I appreciate
• 9:52
Speaker 3: the text of the texture. I think sometimes people think,
• 9:55
Speaker 3: whether it's your city or whatever, is that the city
• 9:58
Speaker 3: just goes out and says okay, Jones and Jones Department store.
• 10:01
Speaker 3: I want you to come here. It doesn't work that way.
• 10:05
Speaker 3: They have a they have a strict, strict guidelines that
• 10:09
Speaker 3: they go by, and they do their research on traffic count,
• 10:13
Speaker 3: how many, what's the demographic of the area, what's the
• 10:16
Speaker 3: median income of the air before they even consider going
• 10:18
  Speaker 3: to a location.
• 10:19
Speaker 7: Yeah, if they're metrics don't meet their numbers, they're not coming.
• 10:23
Speaker 3: And they're not even gonna have the conversation.
• 10:24
Speaker 7: No, And I can tell you we are very proactive
• 10:27
Speaker 7: on that. I mean, we have our city of manager.
• 10:28
Speaker 7: He goes, he goes to these business some min's in Vegas.
• 10:31
Speaker 7: I mean, he's very proactive on it, trying to get
• 10:33
Speaker 7: these people to come here. But at the end of
• 10:35
Speaker 7: the day, we are at the mercy of whether they
• 10:37
Speaker 7: want to come or not.
• 10:37
Speaker 3: All right, what is the timeline getting back to the
• 10:41
Speaker 3: plaza there? What's the timeline for when things will be complete?
• 10:44
Speaker 7: You think we should see some activity this summer, starting
• 10:48
Speaker 7: this summer, and then I think what you're going to
• 10:51
Speaker 7: see there's once you start seeing one or two building,
• 10:53
Speaker 7: you're gonna start seeing others is just.
• 10:54
Speaker 4: Going to be They kind of fall in the Domino effect. Yeah, yeah, all.
• 10:58
Speaker 3: Right, let's close it up. But talking about the farmers
• 11:00
Speaker 3: market again. Give us all the details, the hour, so
• 11:03
Speaker 3: on and so forth. It's all Saturday, yes, so come
• 11:05

Speaker 3: been hearing this for years now. I will try to
• 14:11
Speaker 3: get an update on that for you. We got lots
• 14:13
Speaker 3: of new stuff to talk about the day later today
• 14:15
Speaker 3: there's going to be a groundbreaking for a new pharmacy
• 14:18
Speaker 3: serving the Saint Albans and surrounding areas. It's called Prescription
• 14:21
Speaker 3: Care and it's through Family Care Health Centers. Jennifer far
• 14:23
Speaker 3: is here with us to discuss and Jennifer welcome.
• 14:26
  Speaker 10: Thank you, Dave.
• 14:27
Speaker 3: I love your new studio. Oh, thank you. It'll be
• 14:29
Speaker 3: paid for in one hundred and some years. You know
• 14:31
  Speaker 3: that's okay, right, it's a check, right, it's a check.
• 14:33
Speaker 3: Well man, Well, I will name it the Jennifer Forr Studio.
• 14:35
Speaker 3: If you want me to tell us first before we
• 14:38
Speaker 3: get to this pharmacy, tell us about family of Family
• 14:42
  Speaker 3: Care health Centers.
• 14:42
Speaker 10: Sure family care health Centers. Actually, the register name is
• 14:48
Speaker 10: women Care started out in nineteen eighty nine with four
• 14:52
Speaker 10: midwives in Putnam County that wanted to provide options for
• 14:56
Speaker 10: women to have care. They started and a little home
• 15:00
Speaker 10: and hurricane, and they started delivering babies, and then the
• 15:04
Speaker 10: babies became ill, or the fathers became ill, and so
• 15:07
Speaker 10: the name transitioned to a DBA of family Care and
• 15:10
Speaker 10: expanded to include primary care pediatrics. We have ophthalmology, we
• 15:15
Speaker 10: have behavioral health. There's just a number of different things
• 15:18
Speaker 10: that we offer. We're a friendly, qualified health center and
• 15:22
Speaker 10: we have twenty one locations in four counties of Boon, Cabal,
• 15:25
Speaker 10: Kanal and Putnam. We have five mobile units, four that
• 15:29
Speaker 10: are medical and one that's dental, and at our Patrick
• 15:32
Speaker 10: Street location. Every summer we have an annual kids bash.
• 15:36
  Speaker 10: We have friends.
• 15:37
Speaker 9: That's huge, Yes, yes, it is huge.
• 15:40
Speaker 10: It started out four years ago we had about two
• 15:42
Speaker 10: hundred people. The following year was like three point fifty.
• 15:45
Speaker 10: We're expecting five hundred. Last year we had fifteen hundred
• 15:48
Speaker 10: and we're expecting two thousands.
• 15:49
Speaker 3: We'll say it's like five hundred increment, so absolutely.
• 15:53
Speaker 10: And then we you know, we always just listen to
• 15:55
Speaker 10: the community and whenever there is a need. So we
• 15:57
Speaker 10: started out women care, then we have came family Care.
• 16:00
Speaker 10: Then we start a Convenient Care, which is our urgent care.
• 16:03
Speaker 10: We have three of those located in Winfield, Hurricane in
• 16:06
Speaker 10: Saint Albans and now prescription care. There's a thing with
• 16:09
Speaker 10: the care, so prescription care is going to be our
• 16:11
  Speaker 10: first pharmacy.
• 16:13
Speaker 3: So to Jennifer far again a day Vland show in
• 16:15
Speaker 3: five any live brought to you in parted by Pinnacle Consultants,
• 16:17
Speaker 3: offering a four phase assessment for your properties, inspection, sampling,
• 16:20
Speaker 3: that analysis, comprehensive reporting and management planning. Visit Pinnacle Corp
• 16:24
Speaker 3: dot net. Because what you don't know can hurts you.
• 16:26
Speaker 3: Now you got to break ground today on the Something's
• 16:29
Speaker 3: new for you guys right in Saint Alban's a pharmacy.
• 16:31
Speaker 10: Talk about Yes, so prescription care. We are going to
• 16:36
Speaker 10: break ground at the location in the loop, which is
• 16:38
Speaker 10: twelve connaltereers. So that's where one of our locations is
• 16:41
Speaker 10: one of our facilities. That's also where one of the
• 16:44
Speaker 10: convenient cares is located. And again we see a need
• 16:47
Speaker 10: in the community. We already partner with other organizations like
• 16:51
Speaker 10: CBS and Walgreens, but now we will have our own
• 16:54
Speaker 10: pharmacy and we're going to be able to provide not
• 16:57
Speaker 10: just for those that we serve, but the community at large.
• 16:59
Speaker 3: And I would think too, one of the questions when
• 17:02
Speaker 3: and I know when, when your information first came across
• 17:05
Speaker 3: my email, the first thing, the first thing that I
• 17:07
Speaker 3: think of, and I'm sure you've heard this before, is
• 17:09
Speaker 3: do we need another pharmacy in the area. But obviously,
• 17:13
  Speaker 3: we do.
• 17:14
Speaker 2: We do, we do.
• 17:15
Speaker 10: I mean, I think you would be surprised at the
• 17:18
Speaker 10: number of people that you know that transportation is an issue.
• 17:23
Speaker 10: We know that is something that's very prevalent here, not
• 17:26
Speaker 10: just in West Virginia's throughout the state. We're very rural,
• 17:29
Speaker 10: mountainous and all of that. We don't have a we
• 17:32
Speaker 10: don't have enough to serve the need. And so many
• 17:36
Speaker 10: people tell us that they would like to be able
• 17:37
Speaker 10: to have something that's very conveniently located, they're familiar with us,
• 17:41
Speaker 10: and that actually helps to serve the.
• 17:42
Speaker 3: Neat and having it there in the loop in Saint
• 17:44
Speaker 3: Albans that's right, that's right in the heart of everything.
• 17:47
  Speaker 10: Absolutely.
• 17:48
Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, So you get the groundbreaking today at one
• 17:52
Speaker 3: What are you expecting at the groundbreaking? You're gonna We're
• 17:56
  Speaker 3: we're really excited.
• 17:57
Speaker 10: We're expecting to have the mayor of the city there,
• 18:00
Speaker 10: We're going to have a couple of delegates there, We're
• 18:01
Speaker 10: going to have people there that actually are going to
• 18:03
Speaker 10: help with the construction, and we're just going to talk
• 18:06
Speaker 10: about you know why, we are so happy to be
• 18:09
Speaker 10: a part of this community and to help with my role,
• 18:12
Speaker 10: I'm the executive director of the foundation, which supports Family
• 18:15
Speaker 10: Care health centers solely. So we started a foundation lot lots.
• 18:20
  Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
• 18:21
Speaker 10: Many of the reasons were because of what took place
• 18:24
Speaker 10: with COVID. We realize that when certain things happen, we
• 18:26
  Speaker 10: need to have contingencies A, B and C. So we're
• 18:30
Speaker 10: just going to talk about why we like to be
• 18:32
Speaker 10: in the community and serve the community and be a
• 18:34
  Speaker 10: good neighbor.
• 18:35
Speaker 3: And you know, it's I think it's really interesting when
• 18:38
Speaker 3: it comes to healthcare, the healthcare companies, whether it's yours
• 18:42
Speaker 3: or another one that seem to be doing good things
• 18:44
Speaker 3: in the community, it all depends on the support of
• 18:47
Speaker 3: that community. And that sounds like the most obvious statement
• 18:49
Speaker 3: in the world, but I mean, if they don't come
• 18:51
Speaker 3: out and they don't support and you don't in turn
• 18:53
Speaker 3: listen to them when they say, hey, we need this
• 18:58
Speaker 3: or we need that, then it's it's not going to work,
• 19:01
  Speaker 3: you know exactly.
• 19:02
Speaker 10: People can't see me shaking my head at you, but
• 19:05
Speaker 10: that you're exactly right. And I think that's something that
• 19:08
Speaker 10: Family Care has done. I mean, again, we go back
• 19:10
Speaker 10: to the origin with four midwives that just wanted to
• 19:12
Speaker 10: give women options with how they gave birth to the
• 19:15
Speaker 10: point where they started bringing their babies and their husbands
• 19:17
Speaker 10: and their other children and saying we need help and
• 19:21
Speaker 10: to grow from that one location to now twenty one
• 19:24
  Speaker 10: in four counties.
• 19:25
  Speaker 3: We're listening. What's the timeframe here? I mean, you're breaking
• 19:28
Speaker 3: ground today, but that's the ceremonial part of But when
• 19:30
Speaker 3: do you hope to get it up and running?
• 19:32
  Speaker 10: Summer?
• 19:33
Speaker 3: Summer of this year, summer of this year, smmer of
• 19:35
Speaker 3: this year. You're going to break ground today and you're
• 19:37
Speaker 3: going to have it ready by summer summer? Will you
• 19:38
Speaker 3: work in twenty four hour seven?
• 19:40
  Speaker 8: No?
• 19:40
Speaker 10: No, no, we don't do that, but we're hoping to
• 19:43
Speaker 10: have it. You know, it could be midsummer, late summer,
• 19:46
Speaker 10: but you know we're hope're that's the goal this summer.
• 19:48
Speaker 3: Okay. And what's going to set this pharmacy apart from
• 19:51
Speaker 3: some of the others. What's some special things?
• 19:53
Speaker 10: You know? Some of the special things I think is
• 19:56
Speaker 10: the way that you'll be treated. That's something that we
• 19:58
Speaker 10: pride ourselves on. When you come in, we we treat
• 20:00
Speaker 10: you like family. The other situation is that with the
• 20:04
Speaker 10: three forty b pharmacy program, if people qualify they can
• 20:08
Speaker 10: get their prescription care. I believe it's twenty five to
• 20:11
Speaker 10: fifty percent less than what you may be able to
• 20:14
Speaker 10: get otherwise. So you know, somebody comes in in their
• 20:18
Speaker 10: diabetes medication is X dollars somewhere else, they may be
• 20:21
Speaker 10: able if they qualify, to get it much cheaper. And
• 20:23
Speaker 10: that's just something that we have being a part of
• 20:27
Speaker 10: the three forty B pharmacy program.
• 20:28
Speaker 3: And can you expound upon that program a little bit.
• 20:31
Speaker 10: More, Well, it's it's a program that is created specifically
• 20:36
Speaker 10: for I believe you have to be a part of
• 20:38
Speaker 10: like a federally qualified health center in order to have
• 20:41
Speaker 10: that three forty B program, or you have to be
• 20:43
Speaker 10: some type of community health center. And it's just something
• 20:47
Speaker 10: that is contractual with the government and they actually provide
• 20:51
Speaker 10: that service. It's not necessarily something that you would have
• 20:53
Speaker 10: to go to our pharmacy to be.
• 20:55
  Speaker 3: A part of.
• 20:55
Speaker 10: We have partnerships currently with like I believe I mentioned
• 20:58
Speaker 10: like CVS and Walgreens where you can actually go in
• 21:01
Speaker 10: and and and have that you know, if you.
• 21:04
Speaker 3: Qualify for it. And I'm presuming that with this, with
• 21:08
Speaker 3: this pharmacy program, it'll be just like you do with
• 21:10
Speaker 3: the healthcare centers. You plan on being a big part
• 21:12
Speaker 3: of the community. And I know Saint Albans has always
• 21:15
Speaker 3: got stuff going on. Actually, Mayor James is going to
• 21:17
Speaker 3: be on the show tomorrow, and there's always something going on.
• 21:21
Speaker 3: They just had a pub crawl this past weekend.
• 21:23
  Speaker 10: Uh.
• 21:25
Speaker 3: I think sometimes they just want to excuse to have
• 21:26
  Speaker 3: a party.
• 21:27
  Speaker 9: Uh.
• 21:27
Speaker 3: And there's and there's absolutely absolutely nothing wrong with that.
• 21:30
Speaker 3: But I mean they got the fall y'all, the chili kickoff,
• 21:33
Speaker 3: Yackfast sack Fast, which is the largest festival of its
• 21:37
Speaker 3: kind in the country, So there's always something going on there.
• 21:41
Speaker 3: So I guess you guys are gonna be right in
• 21:42
Speaker 3: the middle of the ring.
• 21:43
Speaker 10: We're right in the middle of that. Actually, my literally
• 21:45
Speaker 10: literally so my office is. We purchased that I think
• 21:50
Speaker 10: was the former i GA and that's where our administrative
• 21:53
Speaker 10: offices are. We have a distribution center there and a warehouse,
• 21:56
Speaker 10: and then we're very close to where the dairy Queen
• 21:59
Speaker 10: is and I may or may not go over there
• 22:01
Speaker 10: a few times a week and get a Sunday who wouldn't,
• 22:04
Speaker 10: And then with the loop is we could literally walk there.
• 22:08
Speaker 10: So we are just a really big part of the
• 22:11
Speaker 10: community there, and we provide school based health services to
• 22:15
Speaker 10: Saint Athan's schools. So we're very, very embedded and involved
• 22:19
Speaker 10: in the community, and we want to be a great
• 22:21
Speaker 10: community partner, and we hope people see us as a
• 22:23
  Speaker 10: community partner.
• 22:24
Speaker 3: And I'm not going to turn this to anything political. However,
• 22:27
Speaker 3: there are a lot of concerns right now about things
• 22:30
Speaker 3: coming out of Washington as far as some of the
• 22:32
Speaker 3: programs may or not be available. I think that's a
• 22:34
Speaker 3: pretty fair statement that everybody could agree on one way
• 22:37
Speaker 3: or the other. There are concerns coming out and so
• 22:39
Speaker 3: your services may be more important than ever.
• 22:42
Speaker 10: I totally agree with you. I mean, I share this
• 22:45
Speaker 10: with a few people and you may not know this.
• 22:47
Speaker 10: When I was almost twenty three years old, I was
• 22:50
Speaker 10: diagnosed with a brain tumor. And when at that point
• 22:54
Speaker 10: in time, at twenty three, my father's health insurance canceled me,
• 22:58
Speaker 10: so my parents had to mortgage home to pay for
• 23:01
  Speaker 10: six medications.
• 23:02
Speaker 3: Known you for a number of years, Jennifer and I
• 23:03
  Speaker 3: did not know.
• 23:04
Speaker 10: The stng H one medication cost my parents eight hundred
• 23:07
Speaker 10: dollars back in nineteen ninety three today's dollars, that's seventeen
• 23:10
Speaker 10: hundred dollars a month. My parents were fortunate enough that
• 23:13
Speaker 10: they had a home that they could do that. It
• 23:14
Speaker 10: was one of the first I think I had five
• 23:16
Speaker 10: of them total, and I was very fortunate. It was
• 23:20
Speaker 10: a blessing that my parents had a home that they
• 23:22
Speaker 10: could mortgage to take the equity out of. I don't
• 23:25
Speaker 10: think anyone should have to decide to watch their child
• 23:28
Speaker 10: die or suffer so for certain medications. I think it's
• 23:32
Speaker 10: just important that people have options and that they don't
• 23:34
Speaker 10: have to mortgage their homes in order to stay a lot.
• 23:37
Speaker 3: Wow, did Like I said, you learned something. And by
• 23:38
Speaker 3: the way, I got a text to my this is
• 23:41
Speaker 3: to my personal life, not the tax line that says
• 23:43
Speaker 3: you're interviewing my sister there. Do you have any idea
• 23:46
Speaker 3: who that would be?
• 23:46
  Speaker 10: Tony parents?
• 23:47
  Speaker 2: Know?
• 23:47
Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, I was gonna say, I'll give you one gas.
• 23:51
Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, we go way way back, so you got
• 23:55
Speaker 3: I was going to say, so you've got dirt on Tony,
• 23:58
Speaker 3: but everybody's got dirt on Tony. We can compare the
• 24:01
Speaker 3: dirt we have on Tony.
• 24:03
Speaker 10: Tony knows I would never do that.
• 24:06
Speaker 9: Especially especially not on the air. But all right, so
• 24:11
Speaker 9: let's Uh, let's wrap it up here.
• 24:13
Speaker 3: The ribbon cutting is today.
• 24:14
Speaker 10: Today at one pm. And again we're we're so excited
• 24:18
Speaker 10: that the mayor is going to be there, one of
• 24:20
Speaker 10: the delegates, Walt is going to be there as well.
• 24:25
  Speaker 3: That he's a friend, he's a good friend of answer.
• 24:28
Speaker 10: Yeah, he's you know, and we're excited because again, as
• 24:32
Speaker 10: you had mentioned before, there's there's just and not to
• 24:34
Speaker 10: get political, there's just things, and I think people everyone's
• 24:37
Speaker 10: just a little bit.
• 24:40
Speaker 3: There are a lot of questions right now, no matter
• 24:42
Speaker 3: which side of the aisle that you're on, there's a
• 24:44
  Speaker 3: lot of.
• 24:44
Speaker 10: Questions, absolutely, and we're just happy that we're being able
• 24:48
Speaker 10: to break ground construction, which means there's going to be
• 24:53
Speaker 10: jobs and economic development and that people are going to
• 24:57
Speaker 10: see something in their community that they can be proud
• 25:00
Speaker 10: and that actually makes us very proud of Family Care.
• 25:03
Speaker 3: All right. Again, the groundbreaking is today at one o'clock
• 25:06
Speaker 3: there at the Loop in Saint Albans. And you're on
• 25:09
Speaker 3: social media websites, you anything like that, you all, oh my.
• 25:12
Speaker 10: Gosh, So our website is familycarewv dot org. Prescription Care
• 25:18
Speaker 10: has its own website, Convenient Care has its own website
• 25:21
Speaker 10: and then also the foundation has its own website, So
• 25:24
Speaker 10: we have four separate website, four separate social media pages.
• 25:27
Speaker 10: We're on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and we always have some
• 25:31
Speaker 10: fun giveaways. So if people want to go and look
• 25:33
Speaker 10: on our we have a really good one right now
• 25:35
Speaker 10: for the symphony Sunday. Okay to two tickets to VIP tickets,
• 25:39
Speaker 10: So if people want to go and look at that,
• 25:40
  Speaker 10: that'd be awesome.
• 25:41
Speaker 3: All right, And how does that work? You just go
• 25:42
Speaker 3: to your social media and.
• 25:43
Speaker 10: Get a social media page you like and share. I
• 25:47
Speaker 10: think sometimes you have to tag people, Okay, but you
• 25:50
Speaker 10: get entered and we do a drawing and we give
• 25:53
Speaker 10: away things for the community that we support.
• 25:56
  Speaker 2: Before we do.
• 25:57
Speaker 3: Let you go. You mentioned the foundation. Are you in
• 26:00
Speaker 3: need of anything for the because I know if these
• 26:02
Speaker 3: foundations are nonprofit, I mean, do you just take direct
• 26:04
Speaker 3: donations or do you have good companies are listening right
• 26:08
Speaker 3: now and they'd like to get involved sell the foundation
• 26:10
  Speaker 3: a little bit.
• 26:11
Speaker 10: Well, the foundation and Dave, thank you for that opportunity.
• 26:14
  Speaker 10: It's it started about a year ago. That's when I
• 26:18
Speaker 10: came on board with Family Care. We actually talking about
• 26:22
Speaker 10: saying I'm sorry the mobile units. We have a mobile
• 26:25
Speaker 10: unit that services Putnam County Schools, and again not to
• 26:31
Speaker 10: be political, we were very close to getting a congressional
• 26:34
Speaker 10: directed spending to replace all four mobile medical units that
• 26:37
Speaker 10: cost anywhere from four hundred to five hundred thousand dollars
• 26:39
Speaker 10: a year. The one for Putnam County Schools specifically needs
• 26:43
Speaker 10: to be repaired and that's a four hundred thousand dollars cost.
• 26:47
Speaker 10: So if there are anyone that knows of sponsorships or
• 26:51
Speaker 10: donations or anything, you can go to our foundation page
• 26:56
Speaker 10: and you can actually give donations to that page. Again,
• 27:01
Speaker 10: we started out as I mean, we are the only
• 27:03
Speaker 10: accredited freestanding burst center in the state of West Virginia.
• 27:06
Speaker 10: It's on the west side of Charleston. Did you know
• 27:07
Speaker 10: we had a birth center.
• 27:08
Speaker 3: No, I did not.
• 27:09
Speaker 10: It's on the west side in the old Kelly's Men's
• 27:11
Speaker 10: shop above Doctor Patten's what Doctor Patton is now right, Yeah,
• 27:14

Speaker 3: read the op ed yesterday. I thought, well that's pretty interesting.

• 32:26
Speaker 3: On the local show. This Niosh thing in Morgantown yesterday

Speaker 3: I don't agree with January six Now, in case you
• 33:40
Speaker 3: missed yesterday's show, Danny and I Danny former Charles Mayor
• 33:44
Speaker 3: Danny Jones was in here. We were talking reliving some
• 33:46
Speaker 3: things from January sixth. Textra said, I don't agree with
• 33:48
Speaker 3: January six but I also don't think enough attention has
• 33:52
Speaker 3: been given to the fact that someone other than President
• 33:54
Speaker 3: Biden was running our country for new who knows how long.
• 33:58
Speaker 3: Nobody seems interested in finding out that information. Well, I
• 34:02
Speaker 3: think and look, I I don't necessarily disagree with with
• 34:08
Speaker 3: what the text is saying there, especially let's say, within
• 34:11
Speaker 3: the last six eight months, and there is several articles
• 34:14
Speaker 3: being written now, there's several books that are being planned
• 34:16
Speaker 3: about the final months of the Biden administration and especially
• 34:21
Speaker 3: as the campaign started to ramp up, and the picture
• 34:25
Speaker 3: that they're pay and again, this is not part of
• 34:27
Speaker 3: this is not this is not partisan politics doing this.
• 34:30
Speaker 3: These are people, objective writers. I think you're going to
• 34:33
Speaker 3: find out that I don't know who was in charge
• 34:36
Speaker 3: of the country, but it probably wasn't Joe Biden. And
• 34:39
Speaker 3: I think a bigger question here, and this is where
• 34:41
Speaker 3: I think the Democrats, in my opinion, have got a
• 34:43
Speaker 3: lot of answering to do. Is who thought it would
• 34:45
Speaker 3: be a good idea to let Joe Biden run for reelection,
• 34:51
Speaker 3: Whether it was someone in his family, whether it was
• 34:53
Speaker 3: those closest to him. Somebody, and I'm looking straight at you.
• 34:58
Speaker 3: National Democratic Party or maybe State Democratic Party. Somebody should
• 35:01
Speaker 3: have said this is not a good idea. Somebody should
• 35:04
Speaker 3: have said that at that point. They they didn't. We're
• 35:09
Speaker 3: talking about protest votes. A little yesterday text that a
• 35:11
Speaker 3: protest vote is wanting perfect when good enough would be
• 35:14
Speaker 3: good enough. Well, I mentioned the fact I didn't vote
• 35:17
Speaker 3: for Donald Trump this past election, but I don't necessarily
• 35:20
Speaker 3: think that Joe. I couldn't would good conscious vote for
• 35:22
Speaker 3: Joe Biden either, So going back to yesterday's show, would
• 35:28
Speaker 3: have been nice if Danny would have spoke out a
• 35:30
Speaker 3: little more against Trump before the election. I listen and
• 35:33
Speaker 3: didn't hear him take a hard line on Trump during
• 35:35
Speaker 3: the campaign. Danny is still respected among boomers around here.
• 35:38
Speaker 3: Might have made a difference as a texture. All right,
• 35:44
Speaker 3: So it is back the V one hundred yard sale.
• 35:48
Speaker 3: It's this Saturday at ladley Field, and to say it's
• 35:51
Speaker 3: going to be huge is quite the understatement. Of course,
• 35:55
Speaker 3: a lot of areas in Charleston and elsewhere are having
• 35:58
Speaker 3: yard sales this weekend, and east En yard sales so
• 36:03
Speaker 3: on and so forth. Now the hours for the v
• 36:05
Speaker 3: one hundred yard sale are Saturday, eight am until noon.
• 36:09
Speaker 3: A couple of things we need to let you know about.
• 36:11
Speaker 3: Everybody must be off the lot by one o'clock. You
• 36:15
Speaker 3: can't be hanging out and trying to negotiate different prices.
• 36:20
Speaker 3: One o'clock you're gone. And also know from a traffic standpoint,
• 36:25
Speaker 3: there is only one way too Ladley Field for the
• 36:27
Speaker 3: yard sale. You have to take Washington Street to Elizabeth
• 36:31
Speaker 3: and get in line from there. Now, if you are
• 36:33
Speaker 3: a vendor, you have to be there well before eight o'clock,
• 36:38
Speaker 3: well before eight o'clock. Now, I don't know what well
• 36:40
Speaker 3: means to you, but I must say an hour or so.
• 36:44
Speaker 3: You got to be there because it opens at eight o'clock.
• 36:46
Speaker 3: You can't be a vendor trying to set up at
• 36:49
Speaker 3: eight o'clock. That simply is not going to work. You're
• 36:52
Speaker 3: going to have to be there well in advance of
• 36:55
Speaker 3: the eight o'clock start time. Once this is for venders.
• 36:59
Speaker 3: Once you have unloaded your vehicle, you have to move it.
• 37:02
Speaker 3: You cannot leave it there. Okay. The parking area is
• 37:06
Speaker 3: on the railroad track side of the lot, and the
• 37:09
Speaker 3: weather the weather looks good as of right now. But
• 37:12
Speaker 3: as we all know, nobody was really expecting a hailstorm
• 37:15
Speaker 3: to hit South Charleston and surrounding areas yesterday afternoon. But
• 37:18
  Speaker 3: here we are.
• 37:19
  Speaker 6: My poor.
• 37:21
Speaker 3: Coworker TJ. Meadows had to do had to turn all
• 37:23
Speaker 3: Brian Hughes into a weather update for it's from yesterday
• 37:28
Speaker 3: because his car was getting pounced upon in South Charleston yesterday.
• 37:33
Speaker 3: But anyway, the point there is is that we never
• 37:37
Speaker 3: know what the weather's going to do. It does look
• 37:39
Speaker 3: good for right now, though, but things can change. If
• 37:42
Speaker 3: there were to be a postponement because of the weather,
• 37:47
Speaker 3: it will be put on the Facebook page of V
• 37:50
Speaker 3: one hundred by no later than six am on Saturday morning.
• 37:55
Speaker 3: So also, if you're a vendor, you must bring your
• 37:58
Speaker 3: own tables. We are not in the table business. And
• 38:03
Speaker 3: here's something I think is really cool. If you have
• 38:05
Speaker 3: items as a vendor that you don't sell and you
• 38:11
Speaker 3: don't want to haul them back home, Mountain Mission is
• 38:14
Speaker 3: going to be on site with a truck on the
• 38:16
Speaker 3: lot at around eleven thirty that morning to accept items
• 38:20
Speaker 3: for donation. So again, you know how yard sales work,
• 38:23
Speaker 3: you know, I mean I have been a part of them.
• 38:26
Speaker 3: Myself years and years ago. And at some point when
• 38:28
Speaker 3: you get ready to pack it all in, you say,
• 38:33
Speaker 3: the next car that comes in, make me an offer.
• 38:35
Speaker 3: And this stuff because I don't want to put it
• 38:36
Speaker 3: back in the attic. Well, it's pretty much the same here.
• 38:38
Speaker 3: That's why Mountain Mission is going to be there. So
• 38:39
Speaker 3: you vendors, if you got stuff that you don't want
• 38:42
Speaker 3: to haul back, Mountain Mission will take it starting at
• 38:45
Speaker 3: eleven thirty. There also you are responsible for clean up.
• 38:48
Speaker 3: Clean up your crap, all right. There are going to
• 38:50
Speaker 3: be food vendors on site, so you're not allowed to
• 38:53
Speaker 3: sell food. Okay. It should be a good time overall.
• 38:58
Speaker 3: It always is. And so many yard sales going on
• 39:01
Speaker 3: this weekend, so many communities having him, and this is
• 39:04
Speaker 3: this is another one. And by the way, big shout
• 39:06
Speaker 3: out to the folks at PoCA Valley UH for making
• 39:09
Speaker 3: it possible on our end. I'm not sure at this
• 39:13
Speaker 3: point how many vendor spots are available, if I will
• 39:16
Speaker 3: say this few, if any. I was talking to Steve
• 39:18
Speaker 3: Bishop about this yesterday, and Steve, by the way, is
• 39:20
Speaker 3: going to come on the show on Friday to talk
• 39:22
Speaker 3: about it. And by that point we're not going to
• 39:24
Speaker 3: be putting out an appeal for vendors. By that point,
• 39:26
Speaker 3: we're gonna just be saying for you, the customers, to
• 39:30
Speaker 3: come out because the vendor slots will all be gone
• 39:32
Speaker 3: by that. But if you do have any questions, you
• 39:35
Speaker 3: can call our front desk here UH three zero four
• 39:38
Speaker 3: three four two eight one three one talk to Tracy Uh.
• 39:41
Speaker 3: You can also check out the V one hundred website
• 39:43
Speaker 3: and Facebook page if you want more information. And as
• 39:46
Speaker 3: I said, Steve Bishop from V one hundred will join
• 39:50
Speaker 3: me on the show this Friday morning to talk about it.
• 39:56
Speaker 3: Texas Day this past weekend had a huge throwback tree
• 40:00
Speaker 3: for all those who were called and love the old
• 40:02
Speaker 3: Rax restaurants. There are only seven remaining in the US
• 40:05
Speaker 3: in Illinois, Kentucky and five in Ohio, one of which
• 40:09
Speaker 3: is very close twenty two to fifty South third Street
• 40:11
Speaker 3: in Ireton. We made the drive and so glad we did.
• 40:14
Speaker 3: The food tasted exactly the same as it did all
• 40:17
Speaker 3: those decades ago. Can someone please get a franchise store
• 40:20
Speaker 3: back here again? So there the call out for Racks.
• 40:24
Speaker 3: I remember Rax. We haven't eaten at one in a
• 40:26
Speaker 3: long time. I did know there was one in Ireton,
• 40:29
Speaker 3: But I haven't been there, but yeah, I remember Rax
• 40:32
Speaker 3: Well Texas Dave Trump Take of the Day going to
• 40:37
Speaker 3: replace military generals with Fox Entertainers. Stay tuned for Tomorrow's
• 40:41
Speaker 3: Trump Take of the Day. This texture has become kind
• 40:44
Speaker 3: of like a feature of the Trump Take of the Day.
• 40:47
Speaker 3: Texta says Woodrow Wilson's wife ran the country for the
• 40:50
Speaker 3: last two years of his administration. Joe Biden would certainly
• 40:53
Speaker 3: be better than what we have now.
• 40:57
Speaker 9: If that is the case, then I would say that
• 41:00
Speaker 9: maybe Joe Biden should have.
• 41:02
Speaker 3: Been the nominee for president. Just saying, but well before,
• 41:07
Speaker 3: This is not throwing off on Kamada Harris. This is
• 41:09
Speaker 3: about Joe Biden should have had no business, no business
• 41:12
Speaker 3: being the nominee for president. If Joe Biden at the
• 41:15
Speaker 3: texture I'm not arguing with you, but the texture says
• 41:17
Speaker 3: Joe Biden would have would make a better president, then
• 41:20
Speaker 3: Joe Biden should have been the nominee.
• 41:23
Speaker 4: It is nine forty eight.

Speaker 3: Vaccines are your rest protection agains severe disease from flu

• 41:34
Speaker 3: and Human Services. Mike Nolton the lead story this morning.
• 41:37
Speaker 3: We've talked about it a lot on the Midday Show.
• 41:39
Speaker 3: The folks that are left at that, a Niosh facility
• 41:43
Speaker 3: in Morgantown, told last month that they may lose their
• 41:46
Speaker 3: jobs in federal budget cuts, were told late Friday they
• 41:50
Speaker 3: will lose their jobs come July. Second. Now, a little
• 41:53
Speaker 3: background here. The first notices were sent out to one
• 41:56
Speaker 3: hundred and eighty five members of the American Federation of
• 41:59
Speaker 3: Government and Employe's Local thirty four to thirty on April
• 42:03
Speaker 3: the first. There were also non union workers that were
• 42:07
Speaker 3: part of that as well. The United Mine Workers are
• 42:10
Speaker 3: calling the cuts by the Trump administration quote cowardly since
• 42:14
Speaker 3: they came at six thirty on Friday evening, and many
• 42:18
Speaker 3: people now are worried what this will mean for the
• 42:22
Speaker 3: safety and well being of those in the mining industry
• 42:25
Speaker 3: because they did a lot of research with black lung,
• 42:27
Speaker 3: and interestingly enough, we are seeing an up, very much
• 42:31
Speaker 3: an uptick in the black lung diagnosis for young coal
• 42:36
Speaker 3: miners these days. Used to be you're an old coal miner,
• 42:39
Speaker 3: which all my family was you had black lung. It
• 42:42
Speaker 3: was no question as to whether you had it, it
• 42:44
Speaker 3: was just how severe it was going to be. Well,
• 42:45
Speaker 3: now they're seeing an uptick with young people, it seems.
• 42:48
Speaker 3: But yeah, there's a lot of people, and I'm very
• 42:51
Speaker 3: interested with this announcement coming out, and again it was
• 42:54
Speaker 3: late Friday, like six point thirty. I'm very interested to

• 46:30
  Speaker 3: is bad.
• 46:30
  Speaker 4: Well.
• 46:31
Speaker 3: Trump's policies have been tanking the country since January, and
• 46:34
Speaker 3: we're still hearing conspiracies about if Joe Biden was really
• 46:38
Speaker 3: running the White House deflection question mark because Kamala Harris
• 46:42
Speaker 3: couldn't have tanked our first one hundred days as hard
• 46:45
Speaker 3: as Trump has. Well, I was asking questions about Joe
• 46:48
Speaker 3: Biden in the campaign, and if you remember, I said
• 46:51
Speaker 3: that if any any Democrat, any Biden supporter, thought that
• 46:55
Speaker 3: everybody was that, you know, all the lights were on,
• 46:59
Speaker 3: then they were sadly mistaken. I said that during the
• 47:01
Speaker 3: campaign Texas, Dave, I will tell all MAGA supporters one
• 47:07
Speaker 3: thing Joe Biden did greats he beat Trump bad, not
• 47:11
Speaker 3: this pastime. Sorry about the all caps the text, Well,
• 47:19
Speaker 3: listeners can't see that, But I am so sick of
• 47:21
Speaker 3: hearing how illegal aliens are being denied due process. Give
• 47:24
Speaker 3: me a break. Let's review, shall we. They didn't have
• 47:26
Speaker 3: to be vaxed when they broke into or were phoned
• 47:28
Speaker 3: into the country. They weren't required to quarantine for two
• 47:31
Speaker 3: weeks like citizens who traveled from one state to another.
• 47:34
Speaker 3: They had their unvaccinated children and taxpayer funded schools with
• 47:37
Speaker 3: our kids subjecting them to measles and covid uh Texas,
• 47:43
Speaker 3: says Dave West. Virginia's like Charlie Brown and Trump is
• 47:47
Speaker 3: like Lucy holding the football. He will always pull the
• 47:49
Speaker 3: ball away and have us land on our backs if
• 47:52
Speaker 3: we keep trusting him. Dex says, aren't you glad Senator
• 47:56
Speaker 3: Capito was able to do such a good job in
• 47:58
Speaker 3: restoring and saving the ash jobs, says a Texter.
• 48:04
Speaker 9: Quickly. I want to get into this shots fired now
• 48:09
Speaker 9: between Senator and former Governor Jim Justice and the current
• 48:12
Speaker 9: Governor Patrick Morrissey. Late last night, Senator Justice released a
• 48:16
Speaker 9: statement following the release of the April tax revenue numbers.
• 48:19
Speaker 9: Read just some of the statements made by Senator Justice
• 48:21
  Speaker 9: last night.
• 48:22
Speaker 3: Quote. I love the great people of West Virginia. I
• 48:24
Speaker 3: will never tell them anything but the truth, and now
• 48:26
Speaker 3: will never forsake them. The doom and gloom of a
• 48:29
Speaker 3: four hundred million dollar hole in the public was never right.
• 48:33
Speaker 3: In the funds was never right then, not now. We
• 48:35
Speaker 3: left over two billion dollars to work with and robust outlooks.
• 48:38
Speaker 3: And my favorite line, it ain't bragging if you're rights
• 48:42
Speaker 3: quote almost as like the kid Rock line from Cocky
• 48:44
Speaker 3: it ain't bragging expeltive if you back it up. It
• 48:47
Speaker 3: seems like these state level Republicans always got a beef
• 48:51
Speaker 3: with each other. Now, last week it was Secretary of
• 48:53
Speaker 3: State Chris Warner upset with the governor's office that we
• 48:55
Speaker 3: covered that on Metro News midday show. Now former governor
• 48:58
Speaker 3: and Senator Jim Justice is taking issue with Governor morriency.
• 49:01
Speaker 3: I suppose that's what happens when you have absolute power.
• 49:05
Speaker 3: Probably not much different than so what the battles Democrats
• 49:07
Speaker 3: had with each other years ago when they were in charge.
• 49:10
  Speaker 4: TJ.
• 49:10
Speaker 3: Meadows, who never has beef with anybody except when somebody
• 49:15
Speaker 3: drives the wrong way on a street in Charleston, we
• 49:17
Speaker 3: were on a conference call this morning. We have a
• 49:22
Speaker 3: little get together, uh, you know, myself, mister Wilson, mister Meadows,
• 49:25
Speaker 3: and Brad and a few of us eight o'clock each morning.
• 49:28
  Speaker 2: And TJ.
• 49:28
Speaker 3: Hands Free, by the way, hands Free was stressed with
• 49:31
Speaker 3: driving in and in the middle says, okay, lady, And
• 49:34
Speaker 3: if lady was just driving the wrong way, was it?
• 49:36
Speaker 3: And she was a lady? Yeah, I'm not being you know,
• 49:39
Speaker 3: it was it was a female. Was a female female girl?
• 49:42
Speaker 3: Uh so uh was it Virginia Street? Yeah, because that's
• 49:45
Speaker 3: normally what happens. I can't tell you the number of
• 49:47
Speaker 3: times on Virginia Street right in front of our building,
• 49:49
Speaker 3: eleven eleven I've looked out and said, well, there goes
• 49:51
Speaker 3: somebody going the wrong way. Look, maybe they don't know,
• 49:53
Speaker 3: maybe they're new to the city.
• 49:54
Speaker 9: Or what cars coming at you should be there, you know,
• 49:57
Speaker 9: you know, I'm not doing the right thing. A lot
• 49:59
Speaker 9: of twenn it's two way traffic in all the streets,
• 50:01
Speaker 9: you know, so but depending on where you're from. But yeah,
• 50:04
Speaker 9: man just did not catch that. And more roundabouts will
• 50:08
Speaker 9: that fix the problem? More roundabouts? I was just talking
• 50:13
Speaker 9: with Howard Monroe Wheeling this morning and he was talking
• 50:15
Speaker 9: about something that I was like, roundabouts, Howie, roundabout And
• 50:18
Speaker 9: that's how you get it fixed.
• 50:19
Speaker 3: So Amelia Nicely and Lori Kursey have an interesting story
• 50:22
Speaker 3: at West Virginia Watch this morning, and I think Amelia
• 50:24
Speaker 3: is going to be on with you guys on tenth
• 50:25
Speaker 3: plane later today. Not so I won't get into it
• 50:27
Speaker 3: too much, but if you'll recall, the legislature didn't pass
• 50:30
Speaker 3: the bill to loosen the childhood imanization requirements. Governor Morrissey
• 50:33
Speaker 3: comes in with an executive order. Is EO directed state
• 50:36
Speaker 3: officials to offer a religious exemption now on Friday. The
• 50:39
Speaker 3: Governor made it clear the public schools must comply, and
• 50:42
Speaker 3: some say they aren't. A big battle brewing again and again.
• 50:44
Speaker 3: I'll let you guys get into that, because you had
• 50:46
Speaker 3: Amelia coming on at ten thirty. What's your take on
• 50:48
  Speaker 3: this little preview?
• 50:50
Speaker 9: So she's dealing with the private schools and talking about
• 50:52
Speaker 9: the private schools, and the diocese has announced they will
• 50:55
Speaker 9: not comply. Their students will continue to be required to bevaccinated.
• 51:00
Speaker 9: The Lensley School, private institution Wheeling has said the same thing,
• 51:03
Speaker 9: even though they have received directives that they should be,
• 51:07
Speaker 9: you know, in compliance with this EO as well. I say,
• 51:09
Speaker 9: good on them. This is unlawful. It violates the rule
• 51:14
Speaker 9: of law. There's case law, there's code. Fine, let's go
• 51:20
Speaker 9: to court, let's figure it out, adjudicate it. But governors
• 51:24
Speaker 9: aren't kings. And so for those who clearly refer to
• 51:29
Speaker 9: sixteen dash three dash for it's right there, David's even
• 51:32
Speaker 9: in bold you have to be vaccinated. Good on them
• 51:36
Speaker 9: for following the law, even if they're elected representative. Is
• 51:40
Speaker 9: not whoa that was harsh. Didn't mean it to be harsh.
• 51:45
Speaker 9: I mean, look, it's a black and white thing. Are
• 51:48
Speaker 9: you following the law or not? And in fairness of
• 51:51
Speaker 9: the governor, he quotes the riff for a law on
• 51:54
Speaker 9: different things. I don't think it holds up. But that's
• 51:56
  Speaker 9: one man's opinion.
• 51:57
Speaker 3: Let me read this text real quick before we let
• 51:59
Speaker 3: you go. Fore I go any challenges to in God
• 52:01
Speaker 3: we Trust mandate in schools. The science has been mandated,
• 52:04
Speaker 3: and God we Trust has to go. I mean, if
• 52:05
Speaker 3: it goes to court, it won't stand. It'll come down.
• 52:08
Speaker 3: In my opinion, I think it'll come down if it
• 52:10
  Speaker 3: goes to court.
• 52:10
  Speaker 9: I don't know whether it will or I don't. I'm
• 52:12
Speaker 9: not I don't care. I haven't thought about that one much.
• 52:14
Speaker 9: To be honest with you, Yeah, well I'll have to
• 52:17
  Speaker 9: think that out.
• 52:18
Speaker 3: All right quickly. What else you got?
• 52:20
Speaker 9: So? We have a huge show coming up. We talked
• 52:22
Speaker 9: about Amelia coming up at ten oh six. We're gonna
• 52:24
Speaker 9: talk with Fidelis. They're the people building that microgrid data
• 52:29

Speaker 9: what their plans are and go from there.
• 52:33
Speaker 3: All right, we'll be listening. Thanks a lot, man, Ryan Nichols,
