- 1:18Speaker 1: Go to Chelseahandler dot com for tickets. Okay, Hi, Hi Catherine,
- 1:23Speaker 1: Hi Chelsea. Welcome to our minisode. You guys.
- 1:25Speaker 2: We are to today. We are discussing. I have tasked Catherine.
- 1:29Speaker 1: With teaching me what quantum physics is because I need
- 1:32Speaker 1: to have a better understanding.
- 1:34Speaker 3: And I got a text from you last night that said, hey,
- 1:36Speaker 3: can we talk about quantum physics? So I've just you know,
- 1:39Speaker 3: discovered all the mysteries of the universe by tomorrow morning.
- 1:41Speaker 3: So here we are. We're ready, Thank you. I do
- 1:43Speaker 3: have to say my favorite thing is that last year
- 1:45Speaker 3: you learned that the sun and the moon are not
- 1:47Speaker 3: the same.
- 1:47Speaker 1: That was not last year, It was five years ago.
- 1:50Speaker 1: That was my two books ago. So that was like,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I mean that this is a little while ago.
- 1:55Speaker 3: But now that you know that, like the natural next
- 1:57Speaker 3: step is quantum physics, right, yeah, exactly. So basically physics
- 2:01Speaker 3: as we know it is a large scale thing.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Right, if I push you, you're going to go over there.
- 2:06Speaker 4: That's sort of a large scale thing, okay.
- 2:08Speaker 3: But when you get to the sub atomic level, the
- 2:10Speaker 3: stuff that we're all made up of, and the quantum level,
- 2:13Speaker 3: the energy the electrons, like the things between the air
- 2:16Speaker 3: in between.
- 2:17Speaker 1: The air within you mean in between our bodies, like, yes,
- 2:21Speaker 1: in between our electrons, our neutrons.
- 2:24Speaker 3: At the quantum level, physics behaves entirely differently. So one
- 2:31Speaker 3: of the main things that's important about quantum physics to
- 2:34Speaker 3: understand is this.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Idea of what's called superposition.
- 2:38Speaker 3: So superposition basically just means that something has a high
- 2:42Speaker 3: probability of being one of two states, and it is
- 2:47Speaker 3: not for sure in that state until it's actually being observed,
- 2:51Speaker 3: which is like it's it sounds spooky and it sounds
- 2:53Speaker 3: weird and it doesn't make sense.
- 2:54Speaker 4: But it also if you relate that.
- 2:56Speaker 1: To a pregnancy, until you are actually positively pregnan it's
- 3:00Speaker 1: not being observed.
- 3:01Speaker 4: That's actually a good way to describe it.
- 3:03Speaker 3: So there is a really typical example called Schrodinger's cat,
- 3:08Speaker 3: and it's basically like a pregnancy. So Schrodinger's cat says
- 3:12Speaker 3: that if you put a cat into a box, and
- 3:14Speaker 3: you're not looking at that cat because it's in the box.
- 3:16Speaker 4: You don't know if that cat is alive or dead.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Right, so before you open the box, that cat has
- 3:21Speaker 3: just as high of a probability of being alive as
- 3:24Speaker 3: being dead. But when you open the box, basically that's
- 3:27Speaker 3: what causes there's a cause of relationship of like, now
- 3:30Speaker 3: you know that the cat is alive or dead because
- 3:32Speaker 3: if you open the box and you've observed it.
- 3:34Speaker 4: So the reality is based on observation.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And so while the cat is in that box, it's
- 3:40Speaker 3: in a position of superposition, so it could equally be
- 3:44Speaker 3: one or the other. I'm following this, okay, okay, good,
- 3:48Speaker 3: good good, And so where that leads us is we're
- 3:52Speaker 3: kind of always in this state of being in the box,
- 3:55Speaker 3: if you will. We have an infinite possibility of going
- 3:59Speaker 3: this way or that, and say I decide to turn
- 4:01Speaker 3: left at the stoplight instead of right. What that means
- 4:04Speaker 3: is like there might be one version of my reality
- 4:06Speaker 3: where I did go left or where I did go right.
- 4:09Speaker 3: And so the theory of the multiverse kind of spawned
- 4:12Speaker 3: out of all of this, and right now, that's sort
- 4:14Speaker 3: of the prevailing wisdom is that the multiverse does exist,
- 4:18Speaker 3: Like you were talking about, like are we living in
- 4:20Speaker 3: a simulation sort of thing? But so in the multiverse
- 4:24Speaker 3: that theory says like, there is one version of me
- 4:25Speaker 3: that did this, one version of me that did that,
- 4:27Speaker 3: and they both exist equally. So then where that brings
- 4:30Speaker 3: us is one of my favorite things about Like when
- 4:33Speaker 3: I was researching this, the only people who are interested
- 4:36Speaker 3: in quantum physics are either like nerdy dudes or like
- 4:39Speaker 3: hot women who are into manifestation. So where that, ohay exactly,
- 4:46Speaker 3: So where that kind of brings us is. It's one
- 4:48Speaker 3: of the things that helps people understand sort of like
- 4:50Speaker 3: the the physical reality of like if you can manifest
- 4:54Speaker 3: things because you're basically just putting yourself in a different
- 4:58Speaker 3: headspace and focusing on on a different outcome and a
- 5:01Speaker 3: different reality, and that energetically brings you to that different reality.
- 5:10Speaker 1: So in theory, if you believe in a multiverse situation,
- 5:13Speaker 1: which is different than quantum physics, because quantum physics sounds
- 5:17Speaker 1: more like the possibility rather than a multiverse, which is
- 5:21Speaker 1: assuming both all things, all possibilities are happening at the
- 5:24Speaker 1: same time.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I almost think and Brand weigh in on this. I
- 5:27Speaker 3: almost think it's a little bit opposite. I think quantum
- 5:30Speaker 3: physics is the reality and the multiverse is potentially true.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Rat would you say that's correct?
- 5:36Speaker 5: Is it entirely connected? I don't know. Quantum physics is
- 5:39Speaker 5: the study of the very very small, That's what I know.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Is the multiverse necessarily related to that? I see where
- 5:48Speaker 5: you're going with the manifestations, That makes sense.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I don't think it's related.
- 5:52Speaker 4: You don't think it's related.
- 5:53Speaker 5: No.
- 5:54Speaker 1: My understanding, which isn't one, is that the multiverse is
- 5:58Speaker 1: just something that like somebody, like you know, like people, right,
- 6:02Speaker 1: that's like a conjecture like, oh, maybe this is happening.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But quantum physics is actually scientific.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Right exactly, and there's even quantum computers that can do like.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Like a simulation is a conjecture, not, it's not proven
- 6:16Speaker 1: that we're in a simulation. That's just people going, what's
- 6:19Speaker 1: going on here? Like a matrix? Yes, right, a matrix
- 6:22Speaker 1: is like a multiverse?
- 6:24Speaker 2: Correct? Yeah? Is that correct?
- 6:27Speaker 5: Yes? Sort of, that's kind of like a like a
- 6:29Speaker 5: superimposed reality though, right, we're talking about like the matrix matrix.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think that's kind of.
- 6:35Speaker 5: A different I think a simulation would be different than multiverse.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Right, because what if we're like, what because what's the
- 6:41Speaker 1: idea that supports the notion that we're living our past, present,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and future at the same time.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Okay, I've got this one. I've got this one. Okay.
- 6:50Speaker 3: So this is like when you have a radio. You
- 6:54Speaker 3: have all of the stations on the radio, You're getting
- 6:56Speaker 3: frequencies from all over the place, right, they all exist,
- 6:59Speaker 3: but when you two into just one radio frequency, that
- 7:02Speaker 3: becomes your reality. So that's the one that you're tuned into.
- 7:05Speaker 3: That's the one that you're hearing. All the other ones
- 7:07Speaker 3: still exist, but to you, the only one that's real
- 7:11Speaker 3: is the one that you are tuned into.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Okay, see what I did?
- 7:15Speaker 2: That was good?
- 7:16Speaker 4: So glad that I studied.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Good, good, Thank you.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Yes. But Neil deGrasse Tyson says that, like, nobody really
- 7:22Speaker 3: understands quantum physics, So it's.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Like, why don't we have him on I think we
- 7:26Speaker 1: actually should, let's book him because we need to talk
- 7:28Speaker 1: to him. Okay, great, Yeah, I had him on my
- 7:30Speaker 1: Netflix show once and it wasn't long enough conversations. So
- 7:33Speaker 1: this would be a better format for us. This is
- 7:36Speaker 1: perfect because.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Also there's an idea that you know.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah, all these things are existing at the same time.
- 7:42Speaker 1: It just it's like what you just described, right, So
- 7:46Speaker 1: if I were to tune into my past, maybe I
- 7:48Speaker 1: could jump back there or future.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Yes, you know what I saw TikTok yesterday.
- 7:53Speaker 3: There is this I'm sort of on, like the witchy
- 7:56Speaker 3: side of TikTok. And there is this witch who like
- 8:01Speaker 3: witches like you know, like pagans and witches.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I didn't know this about you goes a lot with
- 8:06Speaker 1: those hard boiled eggs that you travel with. Oh, by
- 8:08Speaker 1: the way, my one of my ex boyfriends from Barcelona
- 8:12Speaker 1: sent me a picture of him on a plane with
- 8:14Speaker 1: a little container of for six hor hard boiled eggs
- 8:16Speaker 1: and goes.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I know you hate me now. I didn't respond, and
- 8:19Speaker 2: I'm going to block him.
- 8:20Speaker 3: He and I will do He and I will get
- 8:21Speaker 3: along famously. But so this Glasgow witch, I really loved
- 8:25Speaker 3: what she said, and I'll post a link to this.
- 8:27Speaker 2: And why do you like witches and pagans?
- 8:29Speaker 4: You know what I think there.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I don't understand a lot about it, but to me,
- 8:34Speaker 3: a lot of that stuff makes sense, like talking to
- 8:36Speaker 3: your ancestors, getting wisdom from our elders from especially women
- 8:40Speaker 3: who came before.
- 8:42Speaker 4: A lot of that really makes sense to me.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And also just are we actively doing that without knowing
- 8:46Speaker 1: it or you're saying you're not.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Doing it unless with intention you're doing it, you know, right,
- 8:51Speaker 3: Like I feel like I have a pretty lively rapport
- 8:54Speaker 3: with my ancestors with people have gone before me. I
- 8:57Speaker 3: think you do too, with your mom and with other
- 9:00Speaker 3: who have gone before you. And I think that all
- 9:02Speaker 3: to me goes into the same basket. But one thing
- 9:05Speaker 3: she was talking about that I really resonated with was,
- 9:09Speaker 3: you know we talk about like reparenting or you know,
- 9:12Speaker 3: talking to yourself in different and she was like, let's
- 9:13Speaker 3: talk about time time travel basically going back to an
- 9:16Speaker 3: earlier version of yourself and like giving.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Her the whispers that you.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Wish you knew and communicating with her like the comfort
- 9:25Speaker 3: that you wish she had at the time, or the
- 9:27Speaker 3: wisdom that you wish you had. We're talking about yourself
- 9:29Speaker 3: is like you're going back and visiting yourself at different
- 9:31Speaker 3: points of it. And to me, that made so much
- 9:34Speaker 3: more sense than like reparenting or shadow self or any
- 9:38Speaker 3: of that stuff.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Like to me, that just clicked.
- 9:40Speaker 3: And she said, once you start to hear, you know,
- 9:42Speaker 3: practice hearing the whispers of yourself to your younger self,
- 9:45Speaker 3: you can start to hear this the you that will
- 9:47Speaker 3: come sending whispers back to your current self.
- 9:50Speaker 4: And I just wait, wait, say that one more time.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, she said, once you get better at hearing the
- 9:55Speaker 3: voice of yourself the way you talk to yourself in
- 9:58Speaker 3: the past, you'll be able to better understand your future
- 10:01Speaker 3: self giving you the whispers from.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Because this is a little bit what Laura Day said,
- 10:05Speaker 4: were like, all time exists at the same time. We
- 10:07Speaker 4: experience it as a line, as a linear.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Situation, but it actually all exists. We just happened to
- 10:13Speaker 3: be at one point. It's a little bit like tuning
- 10:15Speaker 3: into that one frequency. The frequency we're tuned into is
- 10:17Speaker 3: now right. But like the future arty exists, the past
- 10:21Speaker 3: obviously already exists, and so kind of what she was
- 10:23Speaker 3: talking about is tuning into different places in your timeline
- 10:28Speaker 3: and being able to communicate with yourself at different times,
- 10:30Speaker 3: And that really really resonated with me.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a conversation I heard Bill Maher having
- 10:37Speaker 1: with I guess I think it was who was on
- 10:39Speaker 1: his show as a Paul Krugbin. I don't want to misspeak,
- 10:43Speaker 1: but I do do it all the time, so I
- 10:44Speaker 1: guess it's not that big.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Of a problem.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And he was talking about common knowledge. This is not
- 10:51Speaker 1: directly related to what we're talking about, but it's another
- 10:53Speaker 1: interesting conversation about common knowledge. It's like you see an
- 10:57Speaker 1: event happen, say nine to eleven, I know without talking
- 11:01Speaker 1: to you that you know what happened on nine eleven
- 11:04Speaker 1: because it's become common knowledge. I know that you know,
- 11:06Speaker 1: and I know that everyone else knows the same information
- 11:09Speaker 1: that I do that nine to eleven occurred, and that
- 11:13Speaker 1: once something becomes common knowledge, it's like then once everything
- 11:17Speaker 1: It's like how things get exposed, you know, like and
- 11:20Speaker 1: it was related to politics, and it's like, oh, like
- 11:22Speaker 1: January sixth, Like once that happened, everyone knew what happened,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and you can change the narrative of what happened, but
- 11:30Speaker 1: like we all saw what happened that day, there's no
- 11:32Speaker 1: denying what happened. So it was very interesting the way
- 11:35Speaker 1: he was talking. I wish I wasn't so stone so
- 11:37Speaker 1: I could better recollect it, but you know.
- 11:38Speaker 2: It was a nice to Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I was also making my very first meal before I
- 11:41Speaker 1: moved out of my friend's house cats.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, cooked. We made chicken pacata together.
- 11:46Speaker 4: How lovely. It wasn't very good. I have to be honest.
- 11:49Speaker 2: It was not good.
- 11:50Speaker 1: But now I know the next time what to make,
- 11:52Speaker 1: how to make it better exactly. The chicken was overcooked. Yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 1: there was a lot of lemon. Yeah, the rhinds too.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But we did make it together. I had a cocktail
- 12:04Speaker 1: and I had an edible and it was fun.
- 12:06Speaker 2: It was cute. Yeah, and Kat was my mentor. I
- 12:10Speaker 2: love that she was really proud of.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Listening to the wisdom of other women. And recipes are
- 12:15Speaker 3: something that we passed. Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Cookie was fun and I can't believe I'm saying this
- 12:18Speaker 1: out loud, but it was fun.
- 12:20Speaker 2: We had a fun time cooking.
- 12:23Speaker 4: For you.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Now I get to move into another rental.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Well, I mean rental feels better than living in construction.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I mean any day of the week, right, just.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Shout out to the person that's renting me to their
- 12:34Speaker 1: house that never rents their house.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Well, I have a follow up, Chelsea from one of
- 12:44Speaker 3: our listeners.
- 12:45Speaker 4: This gal called in.
- 12:47Speaker 3: She didn't have a name, she was just calling an
- 12:48Speaker 3: under disappointed daughter but she was calling in about her mom,
- 12:52Speaker 3: who had gone through menopause and was basically like only
- 12:55Speaker 3: interested in men and kind of wilding out, like partying
- 12:58Speaker 3: a lot sort of things. So this is a little
- 13:01Speaker 3: bit of a bummer update. But she says, great, Hi, Catherine.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I'd love to say it went well when I talked
- 13:06Speaker 3: to my mom, but it did not. My mom was
- 13:08Speaker 3: pretty hurt by my entry, to say the least. She
- 13:11Speaker 3: felt blindsided, misrepresented, and confused by what I wrote. We
- 13:15Speaker 3: spend over a month not really speaking before things blew over. However,
- 13:19Speaker 3: after purchasing both Brooke Shields and Mel Robbins's books, hearing
- 13:23Speaker 3: Chelsea and Brook's perspective, and also taking a closer look
- 13:26Speaker 3: at myself, I realized it was best to dig deeper
- 13:29Speaker 3: into why I wrote in and apologized to my mom.
- 13:32Speaker 3: I found the following excerpt from Mel's book to be
- 13:34Speaker 3: particularly helpful. If you're not in control of the situation,
- 13:37Speaker 3: don't make yourself sick about it. Trying to control others
- 13:40Speaker 3: doesn't work. Give yourself the peace of trusting that life
- 13:43Speaker 3: is the best teacher, and people will learn as they go.
- 13:46Speaker 3: That's how it's designed. Let them learn from life and
- 13:49Speaker 3: be who they are. I spent a great deal of
- 13:51Speaker 3: my life begging my mom to let me be who
- 13:53Speaker 3: I am and here I am today, not allowing her
- 13:56Speaker 3: the same freedom. I can't thank Chelsea and brook enough
- 13:58Speaker 3: for their advice, as it gave me insight and perspective
- 14:01Speaker 3: I hadn't considered before.
- 14:03Speaker 4: My mom is only human.
- 14:04Speaker 3: This is her first time living too, and I did
- 14:06Speaker 3: her an injustice by judging her so harshly. If I
- 14:09Speaker 3: want peace and contentment in my own life, then I
- 14:12Speaker 3: need to let others be truthfully. My mom is one
- 14:15Speaker 3: of the strongest, most intelligent, and independent women I know.
- 14:18Speaker 3: She raised a daughter who's brave enough to speak her
- 14:20Speaker 3: mind and strong enough to face the consequences for that.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I'm thankful. Thank you all again.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Disappointed daughter, So, I guess not a bummer.
- 14:26Speaker 2: No, that sounds crazy. Did we give it?
- 14:28Speaker 5: What?
- 14:28Speaker 2: Did I advise her to confront her mother?
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's probably bad advice, but you also good.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Yeah you said to read Mel's book.
- 14:36Speaker 3: And then a Brookshield also was like, you know, this
- 14:38Speaker 3: is kind of something happened.
- 14:39Speaker 4: So yeah, no, I thought that was really good.
- 14:41Speaker 3: She learned a lot kind of like maybe not through
- 14:43Speaker 3: the initial advice, but.
- 14:44Speaker 1: She says in the letter, this is my mom's first
- 14:47Speaker 1: life too. We we don't know that it is your
- 14:49Speaker 1: mom's first life because now we're all to talk. Now
- 14:51Speaker 1: there's past lives, like we don't know if that that's
- 14:54Speaker 1: real or that's not really so which one is it them?
- 14:58Speaker 1: Or are we in a multiverse or yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Maybe all of the above.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Or am I on the spectrum? I mean I'm on
- 15:05Speaker 1: some spectrum, that's for sure. Okay, guys, I am officially
- 15:08Speaker 1: on my High and Mighty tour. March thirteenth, Cleveland, Ohio.
- 15:13Speaker 1: March fourteenth, Columbus, Ohio. March fifteenth, Cincinnati, Ohio. And then
- 15:18Speaker 1: March twentieth is Denver, Colorado. March twenty seventh, Portland, Maine.
- 15:22Speaker 1: March twenty eighth, Providence, Rhode Island. March twenty ninth, Springfield, Massachusetts.
- 15:28Speaker 1: April tenth is Chicago. I'll be at the Chicago Theater.
- 15:32Speaker 1: April eleventh, Indianapolis, Indiana. April twelfth, Louisville, Kentucky. April sixteenth
- 15:39Speaker 1: is Albuquerque, New Mexico. April seventeenth is Masa, Arizona. April
- 15:43Speaker 1: twenty third is Kansas City, Missouri. April twenty fourth is
- 15:46Speaker 1: Saint Louis, Missouri. April twenty fifth is Minneapolis, Minnesota. April
- 15:51Speaker 1: thirtieth Nashville, Tennessee. May first is Charlotte, North Carolina. May
- 15:55Speaker 1: second is Durham, North Carolina. May sixth, I'm doing Netflix
- 15:59Speaker 1: as a Joe Festival. I will be in Los Angeles.
