Latest / Vanity Farah with Chris Farah / Sister Wives Season 21 Episode 3 "Falling Into Old Feels"
Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Vanity Fair. My name is
- 0:08Speaker 1: Chris Farah, honey. And guess what? I'm continuing on the
- 0:12Speaker 1: quest of getting these sister wives talked about because I listen,
- 0:17Speaker 1: I love them. I watch it. I love them. And
- 0:19Speaker 1: I'm so happy that they get to finally say whatever
- 0:21Speaker 1: the fuck they want to say. And it's happened in
- 0:23Speaker 1: such slow doses because at first Christine was like, you
- 0:25Speaker 1: know what? Fuck you. I'm leaving. And then people, Janelle
- 0:29Speaker 1: was like, wait, okay, well, I guess I'll leave. And
- 0:34Speaker 1: then Mary's like, well, I'm staying. Just, oh, maybe, what?
- 0:40Speaker 1: And Janelle's like, you know what? Fuck you, Cody. And
- 0:43Speaker 1: then Mary's like, you know what? I'm leaving. And Mary's like, wait,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you know what? Fuck you, Robin. And then Mary's like,
- 0:54Speaker 1: you know what? Fuck you, Cody. And getting all of
- 0:56Speaker 1: that has been great, but Now, Cody isn't even on
- 1:03Speaker 1: the show. So the level in which these women do
- 1:07Speaker 1: not care about this person who they don't see is
- 1:12Speaker 1: like exponentially more. And so they don't care more than it.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Does that make sense the way I said that? No,
- 1:21Speaker 1: they don't care more. No, that doesn't make any sense.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You know what I mean? All that to say, I
- 1:27Speaker 1: think they're gonna, and they are, even more free to
- 1:30Speaker 1: be like, yeah. And they are just being like, I
- 1:35Speaker 1: never said this, but the whole time that, you know,
- 1:41Speaker 1: so I'm here for that. I'm here for that kind of,
- 1:45Speaker 1: these lovely women have weathered a storm, a desert storm.
- 1:50Speaker 1: And there's soldiers now that kind of like have the
- 1:54Speaker 1: trauma kind of come up and now they can talk
- 1:55Speaker 1: about it. And they're like, almost like, can you believe it?
- 1:59Speaker 1: leave it. But at the same time, they're quick to
- 2:01Speaker 1: be like, we have great kids. We love our kids, kids, kids, kids. So, uh,
- 2:06Speaker 1: of course, sister wives, season 21, episode three, falling into
- 2:11Speaker 1: old Phil's. Phil's. Listen, I'm trying to get better at
- 2:20Speaker 1: the accent that I can only tell you. I can
- 2:23Speaker 1: only do on words like real. Del. Mel. It's a
- 2:30Speaker 1: good meal. And I don't want to fell as fells.
- 2:38Speaker 1: But we do know that obviously we're coming up on
- 2:41Speaker 1: the fact that all of the ladies got together and
- 2:43Speaker 1: did their picture share. And they had already discussed the
- 2:46Speaker 1: fact that they do not want to cook together. And
- 2:47Speaker 1: so that's what's happening. Now Mary's back and she's in
- 2:50Speaker 1: Parowan and they're going to Bev's Flowers. Honey, Bev's got
- 2:54Speaker 1: a flower shop. You go to Bev's Flowers. She's there
- 2:56Speaker 1: with Amber and Jen. And she fills them in on
- 2:58Speaker 1: the conversation, of course, with Janelle and Christine. And you
- 3:01Speaker 1: know that it did bring up to her old fills.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Mostly she describes it as this. She says in the
- 3:08Speaker 1: beginning of the relationship, she was the first wife, obviously,
- 3:11Speaker 1: and Cody's like best friend and favorite. She was very
- 3:15Speaker 1: loud because she had a lot of power and she
- 3:17Speaker 1: wielded horribly. But she knew and acknowledged that it was
- 3:23Speaker 1: hard for others. I don't know when she did that. Now?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Only now? However, in Vegas, she shrunk, she said. And
- 3:34Speaker 1: she let others dominate the conversation. And that's kind of
- 3:38Speaker 1: what happened when she was with Janelle and Christine. And
- 3:40Speaker 1: I was like, first of all, good conversation. You shouldn't
- 3:44Speaker 1: be that goddamn loud. You were that loud because you
- 3:47Speaker 1: were the first wife and you thought that Cody was
- 3:48Speaker 1: your best friend and you thought you were going to,
- 3:50Speaker 1: God bless, in your mind, do all the things you
- 3:52Speaker 1: were supposed to do in a very small-minded view of
- 3:55Speaker 1: fundamentalist Christians, which is pump out a bunch of goddamn kids.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And guess what? You didn't. You had one. Love that person.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And things look different, don't they? Don't they? And you
- 4:06Speaker 1: have to acknowledge that at the same time. So you
- 4:09Speaker 1: lost a lot of that power because what happened was
- 4:12Speaker 1: it's hard to tell... mothers of six running around children,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and then another mother of the same child, like shit,
- 4:20Speaker 1: when they're just like, what? And so Mary started to
- 4:24Speaker 1: feel whatever kind of way Mary felt, because not of
- 4:26Speaker 1: just that, but also because of obviously her relationship with Cody,
- 4:32Speaker 1: because of Robin or whatnot. She doesn't say Robin, but honestly,
- 4:37Speaker 1: whether it was Robin that sort of gave Mary the
- 4:42Speaker 1: impetus to look outside the relationship and, you know, or
- 4:46Speaker 1: at least have, and I get it, the very real
- 4:49Speaker 1: understanding of this fucking asshole gets to just now fuck
- 4:52Speaker 1: a new person named Robin. And so she tries to have,
- 4:56Speaker 1: or starts to have, does, an emotional online affair with
- 4:59Speaker 1: who she thinks is a man, is a woman, catfished,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and that's the catfish Mary, which happens obviously in Vegas.
- 5:04Speaker 1: And then when she... makes the stupid idea of telling Robin,
- 5:08Speaker 1: who is in cahoots with Cody. Obviously, it all comes out.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And Mary is, I mean, public enemy number one. And
- 5:16Speaker 1: Cody never wants to hang out with her, touch her,
- 5:18Speaker 1: be with her again. She feels that coldness. Now she
- 5:20Speaker 1: has Christine or Janelle, who she's isolated from beginning times.
- 5:25Speaker 1: She has only one child. And by that, she has
- 5:28Speaker 1: no numbers. Cody and Robin have each other. It's just,
- 5:35Speaker 1: it's like, she doesn't, that's what happened. And it's like she,
- 5:39Speaker 1: it's like how the luck of the cards played out,
- 5:42Speaker 1: but she also didn't do her due diligence when she
- 5:45Speaker 1: did have power. So you don't quite deserve the power now.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I'm happy that you're not dominating the conversation, Mary, even
- 5:54Speaker 1: though I do like you and I'm getting to like
- 5:56Speaker 1: you more and more and I'm happy for your life.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But it does feel like, If this is how the
- 6:02Speaker 1: mothers feel and off camera, Mary, we know how some
- 6:05Speaker 1: of the kids feel about you. You really need to
- 6:09Speaker 1: look at yourself and the tone in which you feel
- 6:12Speaker 1: and the anger or rage or how the chip on
- 6:14Speaker 1: your shoulder of why you feel so entitled and angry
- 6:19Speaker 1: and realize that like other people are in this world
- 6:23Speaker 1: too and also had to deal with you and you
- 6:26Speaker 1: were hard. You can do a clip of like Christine
- 6:32Speaker 1: from the last episode being like, Mary was really, really hard.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Really hard. I mean, it's like, I mean, I can't
- 6:53Speaker 1: even do it as well as like, you're just Jesus.
- 6:55Speaker 1: You could almost feel the pain. Okay. So However, you know,
- 7:00Speaker 1: Mary's in Maryland, which is, Mary's friends are very nice.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I like Amber and I like Jen, but all of
- 7:05Speaker 1: her friends sort of give her the vibe and it
- 7:08Speaker 1: feels like she is, and maybe because she's famous and
- 7:11Speaker 1: I get this, like employees of her. You know, Amber
- 7:16Speaker 1: lives with her. And so Mary, I'm sure is like
- 7:18Speaker 1: paying Amber's rent or who doesn't, or, you know, is
- 7:21Speaker 1: her landlord slash her friend slash a very famous, especially
- 7:24Speaker 1: person in life. And also certainly in Parowan, So yeah,
- 7:29Speaker 1: all of her friends are like, yeah, Mary, what's going
- 7:31Speaker 1: to happen? Yeah. Oh, well, you were da-da-da. Well, did
- 7:33Speaker 1: you do this? Well, this is because you were the victim, right?
- 7:36Speaker 1: It's hard because I don't really know if any of them,
- 7:40Speaker 1: especially Jen, who's been around, can honestly be like, Mary,
- 7:45Speaker 1: you have to understand that you were really angry a lot.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And when you're a child and you experience that, it's catastrophized.
- 7:54Speaker 1: So if you think that you were just harsh a
- 7:56Speaker 1: couple of times, these kids experienced in a very confusing moment,
- 8:01Speaker 1: a very scary thing with you. That's what it is.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So just like you feel like Cody had to do
- 8:08Speaker 1: an apology tour of all of the wives, marry friend
- 8:14Speaker 1: to friend, you're going to have to do that to
- 8:16Speaker 1: the kids if you want to be comfortable. And I
- 8:21Speaker 1: wonder because The other part of me is that Mary's
- 8:27Speaker 1: relationship to Janelle and Christine, however frosty, lives also within
- 8:32Speaker 1: a world in which, like, you know, Peyton, I think
- 8:35Speaker 1: there's a lot of people that hate Mary. McKelty hates Mary.
- 8:38Speaker 1: And McKelty, like, and Christine are very close. You know
- 8:43Speaker 1: what I'm saying? So the fact that she never addresses
- 8:50Speaker 1: that makes me feel like she doesn't quite know it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: But I know it. And I'm just on their peripheral.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Just on the streets of Reddit, just reading. So anyway,
- 8:58Speaker 1: just so interesting. She never, okay. She brings up the poly,
- 9:03Speaker 1: the poly, sorry, polyg photo and how she wanted to
- 9:07Speaker 1: create it. And Christine was like, no. And, but she's
- 9:10Speaker 1: also like, you know what? I'm glad she vocalized it.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I'm glad that Christine vocalized how much she didn't want
- 9:15Speaker 1: to do that photo or how much she doesn't want
- 9:17Speaker 1: to cook with me because it gives me space to
- 9:19Speaker 1: vocalize even more my shit, my opinionated shit about things. Yeah.
- 9:23Speaker 1: never got to have an opinion I'm married you know
- 9:25Speaker 1: it's really it's kind of like that Amber's like you
- 9:30Speaker 1: know it's even weird because let's be honest in that
- 9:32Speaker 1: picture it's like you're the tallest then Janelle and then
- 9:34Speaker 1: her so it's like what even up and I don't
- 9:35Speaker 1: understand Chris Christine wanted to be the third wife all
- 9:37Speaker 1: the time she was always like I want to be
- 9:39Speaker 1: the third wife so I don't understand what that crazy
- 9:41Speaker 1: bitch is coming from is it the basement oh it's
- 9:43Speaker 1: is it the basement thing because she lived in the
- 9:45Speaker 1: basement so she thought she was a basement wife is
- 9:47Speaker 1: it that thing maybe I mean, you know, Amber is
- 9:50Speaker 1: definitely not on Christine's side. None of these people are
- 9:53Speaker 1: going to have any, I guess, empathy for anyone that
- 9:57Speaker 1: isn't Mary. And it makes me weirded out because no
- 10:02Speaker 1: one's perfect. And if you've been around, you've seen this family.
- 10:07Speaker 1: It's funny to not have understanding and grace, but like, oh,
- 10:11Speaker 1: is it? Yeah, I can see I'd be triggering for Christine.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Or just something like, oh, yeah, maybe now that I
- 10:18Speaker 1: think about it, or... Interesting how different things trigger different
- 10:22Speaker 1: people because of how you experience that, right? I mean,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I don't know. There's a way, I guess, of sharing
- 10:30Speaker 1: space and being with the story and everything involved without
- 10:33Speaker 1: licking every part of someone's... Okay. Then Mary's like, you
- 10:38Speaker 1: know what? Christine felt that way. It was because of Cody.
- 10:41Speaker 1: He made wives feel like the low men on the
- 10:44Speaker 1: totem pole. just weird, though. It's weird how much more
- 10:48Speaker 1: awkward I feel with Christine than Janelle, and I'm gonna
- 10:50Speaker 1: be like, well... Jen says the convo between them of
- 10:54Speaker 1: healing hasn't happened. Which is true. But it seems like
- 11:00Speaker 1: a lot of convos of healing hasn't happened. There's a
- 11:02Speaker 1: lot of family. That's what happens when you make love
- 11:05Speaker 1: and multiply. Just keep multiplying. There's a lot of kids,
- 11:08Speaker 1: a lot of convos, a lot of love. Anyway, a
- 11:13Speaker 1: lot of healing. So... She starts crying a little bit
- 11:17Speaker 1: and says that when she sees the kids, she doesn't
- 11:20Speaker 1: regret it, which also makes me feel like, all right, well,
- 11:22Speaker 1: some of these kids, babe. I'm not saying all, because
- 11:26Speaker 1: I feel like Mary, I don't want to take away
- 11:28Speaker 1: the kids that like Mary, but Robin's kids love Mary, okay?
- 11:34Speaker 1: Jen's like, well, you know what? Just go and talk
- 11:37Speaker 1: to Christine. I mean, what can you lose? It won't
- 11:41Speaker 1: hurt your feelings. Wait. Felt. It won't hurt your fillings.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I can't say fillings. Fillings. Fillings. Fillings. Fillings. I'm going
- 11:54Speaker 1: to work on that. If it doesn't work out, you know,
- 11:58Speaker 1: there could be healing. Mary wants to connect the dots
- 12:02Speaker 1: with Christine because, you know, it just wasn't about Cody.
- 12:04Speaker 1: It was about them. And Mary, guess what? It's also
- 12:07Speaker 1: going to celebrate Mary. More Mary. Guess what? It's her
- 12:09Speaker 1: birthday dinner. And Mary loves birthdays. Oh, honey, she loves birthdays.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And guess what? She was the victim of not being
- 12:19Speaker 1: celebrated in her past. Yes, there were one billion kids.
- 12:23Speaker 1: But fuck them kids. Sometimes it was Mary's day. And
- 12:28Speaker 1: guess what? Mary has grievances. Mary has moans. Mary moans.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Mary moans that Christine wanted to marry Cody so bad.
- 12:38Speaker 1: And one weird part of their church was like, the
- 12:42Speaker 1: church would just be like, you get married and you
- 12:43Speaker 1: get married. And Marian day is Sunday. Showing up to
- 12:47Speaker 1: Marian day. And get married. I mean, I don't know
- 12:53Speaker 1: if you can be like, oh, just, I'm so sorry.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I have something to do on Sunday. I can't get
- 12:59Speaker 1: married on Sunday. Can I just like schedule it, reschedule
- 13:03Speaker 1: it for like the next Sunday? Just my period. Sorry, God.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I just want to like, fuck my, you know, sorry.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I don't know what it could be. It could be anything.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I have a job opportunity. Like it could be anything truly,
- 13:15Speaker 1: but Certainly, Mary feels like, Phils, like there could have
- 13:21Speaker 1: been an accommodation for her birthday that didn't happen. And
- 13:26Speaker 1: Janelle knows that Mary's upset because Janelle has to sit there,
- 13:29Speaker 1: you know, on producer confessional day and start to realize
- 13:35Speaker 1: why the producers might be asking certain questions. So, Janelle...
- 13:44Speaker 1: Tell us about how you decided to get married to
- 13:46Speaker 1: Cody on a day that was like important to someone else.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I don't know who, tell us about that more, who
- 13:51Speaker 1: it was. And you know, Janelle's like, I guess I,
- 13:59Speaker 1: the church made us get married. Is that what you're
- 14:02Speaker 1: trying to say? Church made us get married? Okay, so
- 14:06Speaker 1: basically now Mary's getting celebrated and she's like, and I'll
- 14:10Speaker 1: tell you what, the next man I'm with, I don't
- 14:13Speaker 1: care who he is. I don't care if it's that sleepy,
- 14:16Speaker 1: avoidant asshole Ron or whatnot. But the next man better
- 14:20Speaker 1: make me feel like the most special person ever. Like
- 14:27Speaker 1: I'm the most beautiful girl in the world. I fucked
- 14:32Speaker 1: that up. I know that. But you know what I'm saying?
- 14:35Speaker 1: She is, she, listen, that should be her profile song
- 14:38Speaker 1: if she's on Raya. Yeah. Um... like basically she says
- 14:47Speaker 1: connection is always really important to her. And that part,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I was like, you know what, Mary, I'm going to
- 14:51Speaker 1: start to love you a little bit. I'm going to
- 14:52Speaker 1: try to open my heart to Mary because that is
- 14:54Speaker 1: something I always say. And I feel that way. And
- 14:56Speaker 1: it feels that way for her too. So there must
- 14:58Speaker 1: be a part of both of our souls that crave
- 15:00Speaker 1: the same thing from whatever trauma we have, that we
- 15:02Speaker 1: want to not only facilitate connection for others, but to
- 15:06Speaker 1: have a connection, to feel connected to others, to feel
- 15:08Speaker 1: a real genuine connection, a real like bond to feel
- 15:11Speaker 1: like you understand or are seen by someone and that
- 15:14Speaker 1: you understand understand, sorry, understand and see other people and
- 15:17Speaker 1: that like they see that you see them and you
- 15:20Speaker 1: see that you see them and wait, you see that
- 15:24Speaker 1: they see you, you, so you give them the validation
- 15:30Speaker 1: that you feel seen by them is what I really
- 15:34Speaker 1: want to say. All of that's really great and really important.
- 15:38Speaker 1: You know, like I, I think that like part of
- 15:41Speaker 1: like theater or comedy is like sharing whatever, like a
- 15:44Speaker 1: certain truth or human condition or a weird thing. And
- 15:46Speaker 1: then someone being like, me too. Ha ha ha. Yeah. Right.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You know, oh, tell me about it. Well, one time
- 15:51Speaker 1: with my mom, your mom too. You know, I got blessed.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So all of that feels like connection. But I wonder
- 15:56Speaker 1: if there's like an inherent kind of like isolated person
- 15:59Speaker 1: that feels like that. Like what makes someone really want
- 16:02Speaker 1: to value that as like a tenant in their life?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Like what kind of personality? And if you tell me
- 16:06Speaker 1: someone who also, I don't know, guess what, Chris, wants
- 16:09Speaker 1: to be considered very funny. And bitch, what do you do, Chris? Comedy?
- 16:14Speaker 1: Is that what you do? And you have grievances from Mary?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Is that what you're saying? Am I Mary? Okay. So
- 16:24Speaker 1: Mary's friend comes over who's an interior decorator. And again,
- 16:27Speaker 1: she has redone her family's pair of bed and breakfast
- 16:32Speaker 1: to a beautiful level of sophistication. with an honor to,
- 16:40Speaker 1: you know, a very traditional kind of Victorian and ask
- 16:43Speaker 1: country ask bed and breakfast. And so, and she loves green, obviously.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So he comes in and he's overwhelmed and she's so
- 16:50Speaker 1: happy to see it. And I guess this is all
- 16:52Speaker 1: very good birthday presents for her. You know, she gets
- 16:54Speaker 1: to really just like live in it. You know, she
- 16:56Speaker 1: got a special birthday. She understands that she's like, it's
- 16:58Speaker 1: one of the best days ever. Um, They are like, oh, great,
- 17:05Speaker 1: so happy to be here. She's like, yeah, I just
- 17:06Speaker 1: want to be around all of my most favorite people,
- 17:09Speaker 1: the most important people in my life, the people that
- 17:11Speaker 1: really are Team Mary. And they're like, oh, yeah, okay,
- 17:13Speaker 1: so just... Is Ron going to be here? The person
- 17:17Speaker 1: that you've been filming with? She's like, no. No. Ron
- 17:22Speaker 1: and I are friends, so... No. So then... Her friend
- 17:37Speaker 1: brings up the concept that I brought up in a reel,
- 17:41Speaker 1: which is that Robin obviously had an agenda and that Robin,
- 17:49Speaker 1: for whatever advice that she was trying to give, whether
- 17:52Speaker 1: it was intentional to be like, get away from my
- 17:55Speaker 1: man or to be like, no, stay with the man
- 17:58Speaker 1: that only loves me so that I can have less
- 18:00Speaker 1: work or because I want this polygamous life, even though
- 18:02Speaker 1: I know I'm the most favorite one and he's mean
- 18:04Speaker 1: to everyone else. either one of those things was pushing
- 18:07Speaker 1: an agenda that only served her. And whether she knows
- 18:09Speaker 1: it or not, we don't know. You know, I wish
- 18:11Speaker 1: she would tell us. But I'm glad that, like, Mary
- 18:15Speaker 1: is completely now aware of that. So now let's split
- 18:19Speaker 1: her off, okay? So Christine gets her, like, little chunk.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Christine is, you know, Trillia's 15. She looks super cute.
- 18:26Speaker 1: She has, like, great kind of 60s glasses, you know, like,
- 18:29Speaker 1: feels like very, yeah, like, feminist like 60s feminist you
- 18:36Speaker 1: know like uh like mrs magazine kind of glasses makes
- 18:39Speaker 1: me really happy she's a sophomore in high school and
- 18:42Speaker 1: has her learner's permit and she has to learn how
- 18:43Speaker 1: to drive and listen christine is like i i'm very
- 18:49Speaker 1: cool everyone loves me obviously i'm christine um all the
- 18:54Speaker 1: kids wanted to come to me i'll tell you what
- 18:59Speaker 1: happened cody wasn't available he was working janelle wasn't available
- 19:03Speaker 1: She is a good patient driver, but she like worked
- 19:05Speaker 1: a lot and she's like, whatever. And there were Mary, left,
- 19:09Speaker 1: or me. Sorry, that was Mary. I'll use proper grammar.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Left was Mary and I. All the kids picked me.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Because I'm nice. I'm not a horrible person. I'm not scary.
- 19:25Speaker 1: No one would pick her. And she, I wonder how
- 19:28Speaker 1: much she internalizes that and is just more rageful. Like
- 19:31Speaker 1: all of Mary being like, I couldn't take pictures. Like,
- 19:34Speaker 1: you know, it's like, yeah. There must have been just
- 19:37Speaker 1: like a cycle of Mary being angry at people not
- 19:41Speaker 1: wanting to hang out with her or like whatnot and
- 19:44Speaker 1: not wanting to deal with her and then just made
- 19:45Speaker 1: her more and more upset. Until, yeah, she found a catfish.
- 19:49Speaker 1: God bless. Who was a woman who somehow was friends
- 19:54Speaker 1: with Robin? Something like that. That lore, if you want one,
- 20:00Speaker 1: the Reddit lore of that is bananas. It's almost like
- 20:03Speaker 1: the second to when the American Girl doll clothing gate
- 20:08Speaker 1: Robin happened. Hilarious. I just like, like truly so much.
- 20:12Speaker 1: She's so cute. She's just, yeah. Enjoying her life living,
- 20:18Speaker 1: you know, as the youngest Christine daughter. And she has
- 20:26Speaker 1: enjoyed David. She's like, David loves to fucking dish it
- 20:30Speaker 1: and I can dish it back. And David loves to
- 20:34Speaker 1: get it. David loves to get roasted, honey. David loves it.
- 20:38Speaker 1: We could roast him. He enjoys it. He doesn't mind it.
- 20:40Speaker 1: He like, chuckles. I'll tell you who mine's like Christine,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but they like each other. In fact, they love each other.
- 20:45Speaker 1: In fact, David's one of the best David's best moments,
- 20:47Speaker 1: probably the whole season. I can put my hand on
- 20:49Speaker 1: it now is when he's like isolates to us the
- 20:52Speaker 1: times in which the each children, each child told him
- 20:58Speaker 1: that they loved him. Aspen McKelvey's like McKelvey did it fast,
- 21:01Speaker 1: you know? Um, and now truly, and though that makes
- 21:04Speaker 1: me happy. So God bless, honestly. But it was like
- 21:09Speaker 1: a recently, so yeah, they were recently to say, I
- 21:11Speaker 1: love each other. But I don't know about Peyton. I
- 21:13Speaker 1: forgot if she had made that clear. Janelle, honey, is
- 21:18Speaker 1: living her best life. Let's talk about Vanity Fair, honey.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Let's talk looks. Let's talk fashion. Janelle's like, fuck, I'm
- 21:25Speaker 1: going to live. I'm going to hire Claire Roberts. And
- 21:28Speaker 1: of course, the last episode, she was doing like a
- 21:30Speaker 1: dating strategist. I mean, she's just like making her own
- 21:33Speaker 1: academy of like self, hair, like coming up and it's like,
- 21:37Speaker 1: she's doing a glow up. And here's the thing. I
- 21:39Speaker 1: love this for her. I think it's so important. I
- 21:43Speaker 1: think like, and this is a very, all the things,
- 21:45Speaker 1: you know, can seem vain, but in every aspect, it's
- 21:50Speaker 1: nice to check in whatever you're doing, whatever your routine
- 21:54Speaker 1: is with a professional or with a coach or with
- 21:58Speaker 1: someone who does it, or, you know, at least a
- 22:00Speaker 1: friend that you think does it well, if you can,
- 22:03Speaker 1: but like, and you can't That's why you should pay
- 22:05Speaker 1: people to do, you know, I think you should pay
- 22:06Speaker 1: people and get different people's opinions so that you can
- 22:12Speaker 1: remain exposed and aware and, you know, like sharp, right?
- 22:19Speaker 1: Like whatever, whatever work you do, you should be knowing
- 22:25Speaker 1: what new technology is or what new techniques are or,
- 22:29Speaker 1: you know, freshen your skills, you know, like you should,
- 22:32Speaker 1: or new ideas, new mindsets, new ways in, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 1: like what worked for this person. Like, it's just, that's
- 22:40Speaker 1: like what, I mean, that's what keeps us kind of like,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think fresh. And I think, you know, new hairstyles,
- 22:47Speaker 1: new makeup. new clothes, like new thoughts in your mind,
- 22:53Speaker 1: the ways that you frame dating and the ways that
- 22:55Speaker 1: you frame your own thinking. That's like therapy or like
- 22:58Speaker 1: cognitive behavioral therapy, like just examining yourself is, and then like,
- 23:03Speaker 1: you know, seeing if you can do adjustments. It's like
- 23:06Speaker 1: the gift you give yourself. So I'm happy for Janelle.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I think it's really inspiring. And I've never gone to
- 23:11Speaker 1: a color stylist before. Sorry, a color analyst before. And
- 23:15Speaker 1: she's a stylist slash color analyst, but I've seen this before.
- 23:18Speaker 1: And Claire Roberts, I think in my humble opinion, I'm
- 23:22Speaker 1: no professional. To me, it's a winter. And I think
- 23:25Speaker 1: I'm an autumn. I think I'm like deep autumn. Either
- 23:29Speaker 1: true autumn or deep autumn. Janelle says she has mom style,
- 23:34Speaker 1: and that was whatever was clean and fit. And the
- 23:37Speaker 1: way that the color works is that you color... analysis,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and you can see this online, is that you do
- 23:44Speaker 1: sit in like a beautifully lit space, natural lighting, with
- 23:48Speaker 1: draped fabrics of different hues, and you put it on
- 23:52Speaker 1: yourself so that you can just isolate the change between
- 23:58Speaker 1: your skin, hair, eyes. Skin, hair, eyes. Skin, hair, eyes. It's,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I mean, exactly to, well, I guess not exactly, but
- 24:09Speaker 1: when you are having a picture and you put different
- 24:11Speaker 1: filters on it, it makes things look different. It's the, like,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it's interesting how that works, but it's so true. Right.
- 24:20Speaker 1: And there are so many different colors and there's so
- 24:22Speaker 1: many different variations or so many different tonalities, differences, muted tones,
- 24:27Speaker 1: bright tones. There's all of it from warm to cold,
- 24:32Speaker 1: you know? And so it's a, crazy thing that the
- 24:39Speaker 1: way that light works in our eyeballs adjusts and bounces
- 24:43Speaker 1: off of things so that it is more attractive to
- 24:47Speaker 1: look at certain images where colors work in a harmony.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And if you can know that scientifically and use that
- 24:59Speaker 1: to your advantage, of course, you can be like, oh,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I look better for other people. Yeah, sure. But you
- 25:04Speaker 1: can also look better for yourself. when you look in
- 25:07Speaker 1: the mirror. And if you look in the mirror and
- 25:11Speaker 1: like what you see, it's a really good feeling. It
- 25:17Speaker 1: shouldn't be the entire feeling. And you can really frame
- 25:20Speaker 1: about what is a good image to see. But you know,
- 25:24Speaker 1: a healthy image, one that radiates vitality, Hygiene is what
- 25:31Speaker 1: we're going for. And I guess in this situation, it
- 25:35Speaker 1: does kind of radiate a glow because your skin looks better,
- 25:37Speaker 1: your hair looks better, all of that. It's literally an illusion.
- 25:42Speaker 1: That can work. But at the same time, the other
- 25:45Speaker 1: thing about color analysis is if you are someone that
- 25:48Speaker 1: gets overwhelmed when you're shopping, like if you're like, what
- 25:51Speaker 1: the fuck am I going to buy? I got to
- 25:52Speaker 1: buy a dress. I got to buy a dress. I
- 25:53Speaker 1: need to get, oh my God, I need new shoes.
- 25:54Speaker 1: All right, whatever it is. That is a lot. And
- 25:58Speaker 1: the more that you can sort of isolate certain routines
- 26:02Speaker 1: and aspects or a sort of capsule collection, you know,
- 26:05Speaker 1: it makes your life so much easier. And so colors
- 26:07Speaker 1: can really do that for you. If you know, you know,
- 26:10Speaker 1: certain hues work and not those. And then if you're
- 26:13Speaker 1: looking at a silk shirt and you're like, I need
- 26:15Speaker 1: a silk shirt, there's six colors. You don't have to
- 26:18Speaker 1: try on all six. You're like, oh, good. The mustard.
- 26:25Speaker 1: That's me. mosque great uh steel gray kick it to
- 26:33Speaker 1: the side not needed great for claire roberts um so
- 26:38Speaker 1: then they do a body analysis uh oh sorry let
- 26:40Speaker 1: me tell you this claire roberts gives her light summer
- 26:45Speaker 1: it's cool like true summer with the brightness and lightliness
- 26:48Speaker 1: of true spring great um body analysis is next she's
- 26:52Speaker 1: like i don't do fruit you're no apple honey And,
- 26:57Speaker 1: you know, Janelle's like, yeah, I'm no apple. I'm a
- 26:59Speaker 1: woman who moved across the country, started a flower farm,
- 27:02Speaker 1: is making decisions all by myself. So tell me what
- 27:07Speaker 1: I am. Now, you can't always make all the decisions
- 27:11Speaker 1: by yourself. So all you can do is give yourself
- 27:13Speaker 1: the best prep possible, which is educated, you know, people
- 27:18Speaker 1: in your corner and reading and evidence finding. She's like,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you're a muse, Janelle. I'm like, oh, okay. And Janelle's like, great,
- 27:30Speaker 1: because shopping plus size has been a nightmare. And I,
- 27:33Speaker 1: from one curvy girl to another, I've felt that. And,
- 27:38Speaker 1: you know, I understand that it is a nightmare. I
- 27:40Speaker 1: really are like, well, I know that if I ever travel,
- 27:42Speaker 1: I have to have all the clothes with me. I
- 27:43Speaker 1: won't be buying anything on vacation. Janelle's like, it's so weird.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I was like in that religion. I didn't realize that
- 27:50Speaker 1: it was so conservative and modest until like later. I
- 27:53Speaker 1: was just so limited. Cody said no earrings. He said
- 27:56Speaker 1: no earrings, which is weird because Cody's so vain. So
- 27:59Speaker 1: it's like, why was he so earring phobic? But she's
- 28:04Speaker 1: happy she saw Claire. She said she gave her clarity
- 28:06Speaker 1: and she got dialed in. Honey, then it's off to
- 28:10Speaker 1: like bring the woman home with the recipe. Zoom off. Cookout. 2026.
- 28:18Speaker 1: They got a pro for this. Pro Zoom. People do Zoom. No.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So Janelle, they start talking more about how difficult it
- 28:33Speaker 1: was for all of them to share this kitchen. Janelle
- 28:34Speaker 1: was like, it was just so difficult because we all
- 28:36Speaker 1: have differences of how things should be stored and done
- 28:38Speaker 1: and cleaned and done and talked about and prioritized and
- 28:41Speaker 1: discussed and yelled at. And then they talk different recipes.
- 28:46Speaker 1: And Christine has this banana story where she made this
- 28:49Speaker 1: thing called Solomon Grundy, which when I looked it up,
- 28:53Speaker 1: because I didn't understand if it was some Mormon thing
- 28:55Speaker 1: or whatnot, it's like a DC character, like a comic
- 29:00Speaker 1: book something. But she says that Solomon Grundy dish is
- 29:04Speaker 1: really just goulash. Okay. I don't know why. Okay. Okay.
- 29:10Speaker 1: But that what happened was when Robin... Had Solomon with Cody.
- 29:16Speaker 1: She told Cody like, I don't like it when she
- 29:20Speaker 1: makes Solomon Groody and calls it Solomon Groody because we
- 29:22Speaker 1: have a son named Solomon Groody who I like, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 1: obviously I'd had her Solomon Groody before I had Solomon.
- 29:27Speaker 1: So I knew that already. But now that Solomon's here,
- 29:29Speaker 1: she should change for this because it makes me uncomfortable.
- 29:32Speaker 1: And every time I'm uncomfortable, everyone else should be uncomfortable.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Solomon's uncomfortable because he's honestly like, are they going to
- 29:38Speaker 1: eat me? And I don't even know how to explain
- 29:41Speaker 1: to him that they're not. So that's on you to
- 29:45Speaker 1: tell your stupid, dumb ass third wife that you don't
- 29:49Speaker 1: really like what I want. Right? So he does So
- 29:59Speaker 1: now she can't call it that. And now that's why
- 30:00Speaker 1: she's like in her victorious triumphant moment, like a Phoenix
- 30:03Speaker 1: coming back with her Solomon Grundy for this Zoom. Sorry
- 30:08Speaker 1: to laugh. It's just, I don't ever, I just, I don't,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I don't like a spot show and I don't know
- 30:15Speaker 1: if I'm, what is Foulash? I'm going to look it up.
- 30:21Speaker 1: at a different time so okay that's what that okay
- 30:25Speaker 1: that's that and then janelle's like well i'm gonna make
- 30:27Speaker 1: chocolate pie because one time we had to make a
- 30:29Speaker 1: bunch of chocolate pies for a baking set we kept
- 30:31Speaker 1: fucking it up and it was just christine and janelle
- 30:34Speaker 1: and mary's like i wasn't there and they were like
- 30:35Speaker 1: yeah i know thank god we wouldn't let you and
- 30:38Speaker 1: mary's like i don't know where i was they were
- 30:39Speaker 1: like we made you go somewhere else we locked you
- 30:41Speaker 1: out of the house that day we sent you on
- 30:43Speaker 1: an errand so you wouldn't be in the kitchen we
- 30:44Speaker 1: hate you in the kitchen didn't you hear that we
- 30:46Speaker 1: had to get things done We don't want to like
- 30:48Speaker 1: yelling at you with a corner to do things. And also,
- 30:50Speaker 1: by the way, how do you fuck up a chocolate
- 30:52Speaker 1: pie that much? By the way, when she makes the
- 30:54Speaker 1: chocolate pie and it's presented, it really just, and I
- 30:56Speaker 1: mean this, I mean it looks just like she made
- 31:01Speaker 1: chocolate pudding and she got a pre-made pie crust and
- 31:08Speaker 1: then put the chocolate pudding in the pie crust. Made
- 31:13Speaker 1: it look like a pie. Maybe it, I don't know
- 31:18Speaker 1: if she put it in the refrigerator for a little bit.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Maybe not. I don't, I, it was okay. I don't know. Okay.
- 31:25Speaker 1: God bless. At the same time, I would have eaten it. Okay.
- 31:27Speaker 1: So then they're like, okay, Mary, Mary, what are you
- 31:29Speaker 1: going to do? And because Mary, by the way, is
- 31:32Speaker 1: very quick to be like, are you making a chocolate pie?
- 31:35Speaker 1: I hate pies. God, I hate pies. Like that's why
- 31:40Speaker 1: you weren't in the room. And also that's why you
- 31:43Speaker 1: don't want to be in the kitchen with you right now.
- 31:46Speaker 1: You are so negative. First of all, yeah, I don't know.
- 31:52Speaker 1: What did a pie ever do to Mary? Mary's like,
- 31:55Speaker 1: I don't want one in the face. It's like, okay. Okay.
- 32:02Speaker 1: So she's like, I'm going to make candy canes. And
- 32:05Speaker 1: I'm like, make candy canes? Bitch, okay. I'm excited to
- 32:09Speaker 1: watch how someone makes a candy cane. I would not
- 32:11Speaker 1: know how to make a candy cane. And guess what?
- 32:14Speaker 1: It's just a pastry in the shape of a candy cane.
- 32:19Speaker 1: that she calls candy canes. Like, yeah, I just, those
- 32:30Speaker 1: are pastries. I got so excited to know how to
- 32:32Speaker 1: make candy canes, and now I won't know. But whatever,
- 32:36Speaker 1: she makes that. Christine makes meatballs. She reveals, like, the
- 32:40Speaker 1: meatballs and the pudding pie, and then, you know, the
- 32:44Speaker 1: candy canes. Mary said she grieved the relationship with Christine
- 32:49Speaker 1: because she said that they also had some great times.
- 32:52Speaker 1: She wishes that it could work out. And Christine, I
- 32:55Speaker 1: don't know exactly how Christine feels. Christine is not mean
- 32:58Speaker 1: towards Mary, but she's definitely not as decisive about wanting
- 33:03Speaker 1: a clean break and never wanting to deal with her again.
- 33:05Speaker 1: And maybe that's because she's gotten to a place of
- 33:08Speaker 1: healing and feels better about herself and got married and
- 33:10Speaker 1: is in love and happy and has had that space
- 33:13Speaker 1: in between. And maybe also because maybe she recognizes that
- 33:18Speaker 1: Mary has also gone to therapy and has done some
- 33:21Speaker 1: stuff where maybe feels like Mary is a safer person
- 33:24Speaker 1: to be around. I would still assume that conversations have
- 33:29Speaker 1: to be had between Mary and the various children that
- 33:32Speaker 1: feel like Mary was too harsh or mean or hard. Okay.
- 33:40Speaker 1: All right, my loves, that's the end of the episode.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being here with me and
- 33:44Speaker 1: talking about Honey, These Wives. Aren't we all kind of
- 33:49Speaker 1: sister wives in the franchise? Anyway, if you want more
- 33:55Speaker 1: of me, you absolutely can get more of me. Happy Halloween.
