- 0:01Speaker 1: Alright, coming to you live from Altamonte Springs, Florida. This
- 0:04Speaker 1: is the Ember Show. Your host, Ember. First and foremost,
- 0:08Speaker 1: let's get into prayer. Lord Father, that arts in heaven,
- 0:10Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to
- 0:12Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this
- 0:14Speaker 1: mic and go through the listeners' ears and reach their
- 0:17Speaker 1: hearts and minds and be able to apply these verses
- 0:20Speaker 1: to their lives. In the Lord Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
- 0:26Speaker 1: And I say that in every episode, almost to the T,
- 0:30Speaker 1: because I believe In the power of prayer. And as
- 0:35Speaker 1: I record this episode on the go, please bear with
- 0:40Speaker 1: me and I highly encourage you to grab your Bibles
- 0:43Speaker 1: or get on your Bible app and read along as
- 0:46Speaker 1: you hear along. 2 Peter chapter 2. And we're going
- 0:52Speaker 1: to go through at least the first 10 verses, if
- 0:54Speaker 1: not the first 15, and break them down a little
- 0:58Speaker 1: bit as we go. So, highly encourage... to read along
- 1:03Speaker 1: as you hear along, and I've given you enough time
- 1:05Speaker 1: to do so. But if you just want to hear along,
- 1:09Speaker 1: please listen all the way to the end. 2 Peter
- 1:13Speaker 1: chapter 2 states and titled, God will punish false teachers.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Verse 1, many years ago there were false prophets among
- 1:23Speaker 1: God's people. They did not speak God's true messages. In
- 1:28Speaker 1: the same way, There will also be false teachers among you.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I've seen them. Trust me, I have seen them. They
- 1:38Speaker 1: will come among you and they will teach you things
- 1:41Speaker 1: that are not true. See, that's where exactly where you
- 1:44Speaker 1: learn from what not to do. Sometimes the greatest teacher
- 1:51Speaker 1: is actually the worst example. Let me get deeper. Let
- 1:57Speaker 1: me go a little further. Their wrong ideas will deceive people.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Those false teachers will even speak against their sin. As
- 2:07Speaker 1: a result, they will bring trouble on themselves that quickly
- 2:11Speaker 1: destroys them. Many people will believe these false teachers. They
- 2:18Speaker 1: will live in a bad way like the false teachers.
- 2:21Speaker 1: As a result, other people will say bad things against
- 2:25Speaker 1: God's true way to live. So mankind here is... Completely.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Since the beginning. That's why it took so many people
- 2:35Speaker 1: before Jesus to actually fulfill the prophecy. Keep this in mind.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We all fall short of God's standards of living. So
- 2:49Speaker 1: why are we judging one another to the degree that
- 2:54Speaker 1: we all have a tendency to do? God even punished
- 2:59Speaker 1: the angels who refused to obey him. He threw them
- 3:02Speaker 1: down into the deep hole of hell. He tied them
- 3:06Speaker 1: up and he kept them in that completely dark place.
- 3:11Speaker 1: They will remain there until the day when God will
- 3:14Speaker 1: judge them. That's a very powerful verse and should be
- 3:25Speaker 1: alarming to a lot of And even though we all
- 3:33Speaker 1: fall short of God's standard, that doesn't mean that we
- 3:37Speaker 1: don't have to live up to a standard. And that
- 3:44Speaker 1: standard is Jesus Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to come in.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And from experience, from being just a believer into a follower...
- 3:57Speaker 1: And I'm not perfect at it. I never will be. See,
- 3:59Speaker 1: that's the thing. We have been so deceived by false
- 4:03Speaker 1: teachers that we have to live a certain way. Go
- 4:07Speaker 1: to church. Do this. Do that. And truthfully, some of
- 4:12Speaker 1: these churches do not teach like Jesus did. And that's
- 4:19Speaker 1: how you have to have it. It can't just be teaching.
- 4:25Speaker 1: There has to be Sense of humor. There has to
- 4:28Speaker 1: be a personal relationship almost with the whole entire crowd.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And there's a lot of expectations to live up to
- 4:41Speaker 1: for some of these pastors. And that's why at my
- 4:46Speaker 1: home church I pray for my pastor. Normally we go
- 4:50Speaker 1: to church to look for prayer and look for help, right? Well,
- 4:54Speaker 1: that's not the perspective I looked at when I came
- 4:57Speaker 1: truly following Christ. How can I... There's one thing to
- 5:05Speaker 1: want a hand up, and then there's one thing to
- 5:09Speaker 1: want a hand out. If you're not learning from the
- 5:13Speaker 1: circumstances that you've been in, then there's some insanity there.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We need the clarity. How do we do that? We
- 5:22Speaker 1: focus more On something that's greater than us. Let that
- 5:28Speaker 1: sink in. Also a long time ago. God punished all
- 5:32Speaker 1: the bad people who lived in the world. He sent
- 5:34Speaker 1: water to cover. Over all. Of the earth. They thought
- 5:40Speaker 1: Noah was crazy building that boat. All the people who.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Had turned away. From him drowned in the water. But
- 5:48Speaker 1: God kept Noah safe. Noah had told people. God's message
- 5:54Speaker 1: that they should do right things. Do right things. You
- 6:00Speaker 1: should do right things. And in order to have that
- 6:03Speaker 1: guilt and that shame to be uplifted, right? When we
- 6:08Speaker 1: really think about beating ourselves up for what we've done,
- 6:15Speaker 1: we are so easy to forgive others but not forgive ourselves.
- 6:20Speaker 1: What is this really saying though here? that God is
- 6:26Speaker 1: a loving God. He gives you opportunity. He gives you time.
- 6:32Speaker 1: He gives you 24 hours in the day. And what
- 6:35Speaker 1: you do with those 24 hours in a day, glorifying
- 6:41Speaker 1: God or glorifying yourself, glorifying others, is finding that balance, right?
- 6:55Speaker 1: And you know that doing the next right thing isn't
- 7:02Speaker 1: always going to make you feel good. You're not going
- 7:04Speaker 1: to always want to do it. But doing the right
- 7:09Speaker 1: thing really shows that you are a child of God.
- 7:14Speaker 1: And over time of consistency, right? I can get deeper
- 7:20Speaker 1: into it. Like these verses have definitely spoke to me.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I hope they have spoken to you as well. Later,
- 7:30Speaker 1: God punished the people who lived in the cities of
- 7:35Speaker 1: Sodom and Gomorrah. Because they did bad things, God decided
- 7:41Speaker 1: to destroy them. He burned those cities completely so that... Sorry,
- 7:51Speaker 1: I'm trying to walk and I cannot really see too good.
- 7:54Speaker 1: There's no... When God did that, that's where you can
- 7:58Speaker 1: see that none of this is edited or none of this.
- 8:01Speaker 1: This is also a lot of it just straight off passion.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And the Holy Spirit just taken captive of the whole episode.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Majority of it. See, now I'm taking some of it. See,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and it's a give and take, right? It's also when
- 8:19Speaker 1: it comes to having that relationship with God. It doesn't
- 8:23Speaker 1: all just have to be just prayer. It doesn't have
- 8:25Speaker 1: to all just be worship. It doesn't have to be
- 8:27Speaker 1: all just. Like you have to find a balance. And then.
- 8:32Speaker 1: At the same time. You know God gave us talents.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Like are we going to use them. Or are we
- 8:38Speaker 1: just going to. Abuse them. And. When you have that calling.
- 8:47Speaker 1: You got that calling. It's better to get in line.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Than to be. So discouraged to not even fall in love. Oh,
- 8:59Speaker 1: let me preach. Let me stop though. 2 Peter 2,
- 9:09Speaker 1: verse 7. But God saved Lot from danger. Lot was
- 9:18Speaker 1: a good man. He was very sad because the people
- 9:21Speaker 1: of Sodom did not obey God's law. They lived in
- 9:25Speaker 1: a very bad way. Lot lived among those bad people.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Every day he saw the bad things that they did.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Every day he heard the bad things that they said.
- 9:37Speaker 1: As a result, Lot made much trouble in his head
- 9:42Speaker 1: because he was a good man. When you are a
- 9:45Speaker 1: good person, good, I don't want to keep this in
- 9:50Speaker 1: the same version, but I want to take some time like,
- 9:54Speaker 1: When you are such a good person and you... You
- 10:02Speaker 1: have to... Listen to... Negative... Conversations or... Negative comments... That is...
- 10:15Speaker 1: Very toxic for... For a good man... Because... A good
- 10:20Speaker 1: man can only take so much of hearing so much
- 10:24Speaker 1: ugly stuff until they explode. And that's when anger takes control.
- 10:33Speaker 1: But the main point that I'm trying to make as
- 10:36Speaker 1: well is that there was trouble in his mind, the
- 10:42Speaker 1: Bible says. That's why it also says in the Bible,
- 10:47Speaker 1: do not lean on your own understanding completely. We have
- 10:54Speaker 1: to have some sort of understanding, right? What should we
- 10:56Speaker 1: have some understanding in? That we cannot do this life alone.
- 11:01Speaker 1: We need the Holy Spirit. We need that through the
- 11:05Speaker 1: relationship with Jesus Christ, which connects us to God Almighty,
- 11:10Speaker 1: which the plans that He has already had for us,
- 11:13Speaker 1: now we can grab it. And we can glorify God
- 11:17Speaker 1: and make him happy again. And consistently. That's where we
- 11:21Speaker 1: mess up. As a body of Christ. We ain't consistent.
- 11:28Speaker 1: We get distracted. We want to put time. On things
- 11:33Speaker 1: that aren't feeding us. Anything. To direct us. It's just
- 11:39Speaker 1: burning time. That's idle time. And. And. I'm really heavy
- 11:49Speaker 1: on this because I've wasted a lot of time in
- 11:54Speaker 1: my time. So now with where I'm at and where
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm going, I don't have time for nonsense. I don't
- 12:06Speaker 1: have time for evildoers. I don't have time to people please.
- 12:14Speaker 1: All I have time for is God's will AA Recovery,
- 12:20Speaker 1: the love of my life, Jennifer, my brother, and my mother.
- 12:26Speaker 1: As you can see, I am not on that list.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Praise God. Praise Jesus. Praise Holy Spirit. Because you want
- 12:34Speaker 1: to know where my reward's at and my priority is?
- 12:37Speaker 1: It's in heaven. So heaven awaits for me. And see,
- 12:42Speaker 1: this is where also I want to get. More assertive.
- 12:50Speaker 1: And more... With realizing that this is... My show because...
- 12:56Speaker 1: I can do anything with my... My talent. Of being
- 12:59Speaker 1: able to speak... Two minutes. And I know... That for
- 13:05Speaker 1: a fact... That this is what I'm supposed to do.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Music is what I'm supposed to do. Being a father...
- 13:18Speaker 1: Being somebody. This doesn't come naturally. You got to go.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Create it. And you're not always going to have. Your
- 13:31Speaker 1: companion by your side. You're not always going to have
- 13:34Speaker 1: your brother by your side. You're not always going to
- 13:36Speaker 1: have your sister by your side. Sometimes. It's only going
- 13:39Speaker 1: to be you and the Holy Spirit walking. How you
- 13:43Speaker 1: hold yourself together. Well. Well. That determines how the results
- 13:50Speaker 1: of you making it through the weather. Jesus showed us
- 13:56Speaker 1: in the midst of the storm. He was sleeping on
- 14:01Speaker 1: the boat. And I also want to leave this last
- 14:04Speaker 1: minute for the love of my life. I don't know
- 14:08Speaker 1: when you'll listen to this. But each and every day,
- 14:13Speaker 1: my love for you grows stronger. And it makes me
- 14:17Speaker 1: even more aware spiritually than I've ever been. And it's
- 14:31Speaker 1: those types of people that have made the biggest impact
- 14:37Speaker 1: on my life. It's the ones that I care about
- 14:39Speaker 1: the most. The ones I love the most. Those are
- 14:42Speaker 1: the people that make the most impact on me. Because
- 14:46Speaker 1: I see their struggles. I see their victories. I see
- 14:50Speaker 1: their good. I see their bad. And you know what? Christlike.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I love them for who they are. Where they're at.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Thank you for pressing play. This is the Ember Show. Peace.
