Russia’s newest nuclear submarine, the Khabarovsk, is now at sea for its first factory trials — a vessel built to launch the feared Poseidon underwater drone, dubbed a “doomsday” weapon. Capable of traveling 10,000 km and potentially triggering radioactive tsunamis, the Poseidon is designed for second-strike capability. The Khabarovsk, shorter than traditional ballistic subs to accommodate six launch bays, began construction in 2014 but faced delays, with an expected service date of November 2025.
