- 0:20Speaker 7: In your face to me and in the place to be.
- 0:22Speaker 3: And you're listening to John Jay and Rich.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Wake your ass up.
- 0:25Speaker 3: All right, Rich, today's national.
- 0:27Speaker 8: Well, it's all kinds of great days. First of all,
- 0:29Speaker 8: it's October, so it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is
- 0:32Speaker 8: National Pizza Month, National Cookie Month, plus World Space Week.
- 0:38Speaker 8: But today is World Vegetarian Day. And this is interesting.
- 0:42Speaker 8: It's also National Pumpkin Spice Day, National Homemade Cookie Day.
- 0:47Speaker 8: And I love this, International Music Day. And for Love
- 0:51Speaker 8: Pup and Love Pup Plus the app. It is International
- 0:55Speaker 8: Black Dog Day. It's about promoting adoption of black dogs,
- 0:58Speaker 8: which tend to get passed over in shelters.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I didn't know that. I thought it was about having
- 1:02Speaker 3: a friend that's black. Your black dog? What's up, dog?
- 1:05Speaker 9: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Get your dad on the phone. Let me get your
- 1:07Speaker 3: dad on the phone.
- 1:09Speaker 4: What's up, dog?
- 1:10Speaker 10: What's up, dog?
- 1:11Speaker 3: What up, Showtime? My dog.
- 1:12Speaker 10: He would really love for.
- 1:14Speaker 3: You to call him your black dog. Every once in
- 1:16Speaker 3: a while, your dad texts me every once in a while,
- 1:18Speaker 3: and he'd just be like, hey, man, I hope you
- 1:19Speaker 3: have a great day today.
- 1:20Speaker 10: He's nice.
- 1:21Speaker 11: He is notorious for that. But what my dad does
- 1:23Speaker 11: to elevate that, he'll put me, my brother, and my
- 1:26Speaker 11: sister in a group chat, and he'll say, I love
- 1:28Speaker 11: you guys. And whoever responds first, first person gets 30 bucks.
- 1:32Speaker 11: Second person might get 15, and the last person gets nothing.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I like that a lot. I want to get back
- 1:38Speaker 3: to you in a second. There is a little theme
- 1:40Speaker 3: going on the last couple days. We took a call
- 1:44Speaker 3: yesterday about somebody saying that you can get free coffee
- 1:46Speaker 3: at Starbucks if you're a Gold Club member and you
- 1:50Speaker 3: stay in the Starbucks. Victor has some information about that
- 1:55Speaker 3: as well. Am I right, Victor? Yes, sir. What do
- 1:59Speaker 3: you do for a living, Victor?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Well, I actually work in a title company, escrow assistance.
- 2:05Speaker 3: So you're an expert. I work part-time.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Now, I've been at Starbucks since 2015, but I do
- 2:11Speaker 4: that part-time now on the weekends.
- 2:13Speaker 12: Okay.
- 2:14Speaker 3: All right. So you can tell us exactly how to
- 2:16Speaker 3: get free coffee at Starbucks.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Well, the caller that was talking earlier was correct. The
- 2:23Speaker 4: only thing is that they've changed the program now. And
- 2:26Speaker 4: you don't have to be gold card status. So everything
- 2:29Speaker 4: else you said was correct about going and getting your
- 2:32Speaker 4: first beverage. You just have to hang out within the
- 2:35Speaker 4: premises essentially to get your refills. But, yeah, there's no–
- 2:39Speaker 4: they used to even charge you like 50 cents back
- 2:42Speaker 4: in the day. But now there's no need to be
- 2:44Speaker 4: a certain status to do it.
- 2:45Speaker 3: You just get to go.
- 2:46Speaker 4: And hang out and get free coffee if you're there.
- 2:48Speaker 9: Oh, I like that because I looked up. I'm like, oh,
- 2:50Speaker 9: I'm only green status. But I can do it too.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Oh, you're only green. You're so green.
- 2:55Speaker 8: Is it just coffee or is it like, could you
- 2:57Speaker 8: get a chai or something like that? Or is it
- 2:59Speaker 8: just black coffee?
- 3:01Speaker 4: So those, the chai, anything, if you think about it,
- 3:04Speaker 4: anything made with milk or that the base of it
- 3:07Speaker 4: is going to be, you know, like espresso or something
- 3:10Speaker 4: fancy like that, sadly, we can't do none of those.
- 3:13Speaker 4: But you can get any free, like, iced teas, make
- 3:16Speaker 4: it a tea lemonade, iced coffee, you know, some of
- 3:20Speaker 4: the hot coffees or even the hot teas, things like that.
- 3:23Speaker 4: And honestly, if you're pretty cool with the, you know,
- 3:26Speaker 4: kind with the baristas and everything, too, though, most of
- 3:28Speaker 4: the time we let you guys You know, most of
- 3:30Speaker 4: the time, if you are there for an hour or so.
- 3:32Speaker 3: They'll just let it go and hook you up, is
- 3:33Speaker 3: what he's saying. What now?
- 3:35Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 3: If you're there for an hour, I thought there was
- 3:39Speaker 3: no time limit. As long as you're there working, you
- 3:40Speaker 3: get free coffee, free tea.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Not necessarily. It was just an example. So some people
- 3:46Speaker 4: hang out for an hour or so, and they get
- 3:47Speaker 4: two refills, and we notice they're about to head out.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Before they head out, if they get another refill, we
- 3:53Speaker 4: try to be kind and give it to them in
- 3:55Speaker 4: a to-go cup instead of the for-here cup so they
- 3:57Speaker 4: can take one with them.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Oh, the for-here cups. That's right. I've seen those before. Okay,
- 4:00Speaker 3: so let me tell you about my wife's little hack
- 4:02Speaker 3: she does. If we are ever staying in a hotel
- 4:04Speaker 3: that has a Starbucks, she's addicted to the green tea, right?
- 4:08Speaker 3: So she gets a green tea in the morning. She
- 4:10Speaker 3: drinks it. And then she takes her cup and she
- 4:12Speaker 3: leaves it in the hotel room. And then at the
- 4:14Speaker 3: end of the day, or later on in the day,
- 4:16Speaker 3: she goes back to the Starbucks because they refill it
- 4:18Speaker 3: because they were assuming you had never left. But we'll
- 4:20Speaker 3: go have a day doing stuff and then she comes
- 4:21Speaker 3: back and she fills it up and it's free. So
- 4:24Speaker 3: what's the purpose of being a gold member then? Kyle's
- 4:26Speaker 3: a green member. I'm a gold member. What perks do
- 4:27Speaker 3: I get?
- 4:30Speaker 4: I think it's the way that you earn stars per
- 4:33Speaker 4: dollar spent now. So, essentially, once you get to a
- 4:36Speaker 4: certain amount of stars, you're eligible for free food, free drinks,
- 4:40Speaker 4: and that sort. So, if you're a gold status, you
- 4:43Speaker 4: end up earning stars a little quicker than, like, you know,
- 4:45Speaker 4: a green status.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Right on. All right. That's kind of turned into food news.
- 4:50Speaker 3: John Jay and Rich present Food News. Food News. Way
- 4:55Speaker 3: to go, Victor.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Food News.
- 4:57Speaker 3: We love it when people listen to the show and
- 4:59Speaker 3: bring us breaking food news. Oh, heck yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 14: Thanks, Victor.
- 5:02Speaker 3: It's life.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Hey.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's very good.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I'm a big fan of you guys, for sure. I'm like,
- 5:06Speaker 4: I'd be repping the hat and the shirt all the time.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Oh, right on.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I listen to you guys.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Well, I tell you what, then. How about we do
- 5:11Speaker 3: title news, since you work for a title company? Rich,
- 5:13Speaker 3: do you have titles on? Tell us what's going on.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I'd like to be called Mr. Oh, is that what
- 5:17Speaker 3: he's on? He's on a title company. All right, Victor,
- 5:19Speaker 3: thanks for calling in, man. Thanks for listening.
- 5:22Speaker 12: Yes, guys.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Have a good one. Have a great day. And Peyton,
- 5:25Speaker 3: so I want to get back to you. What's up?
- 5:27Speaker 3: Are you getting a house? Do you say you're buying
- 5:29Speaker 3: a house? You're moving out?
- 5:30Speaker 10: That's the plan.
- 5:31Speaker 11: Yeah, we've been, my husband and I, Kadeem, have been
- 5:34Speaker 11: living with my grandma.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Wait, get Victor back on the phone. He's a title
- 5:37Speaker 3: company guy.
- 5:38Speaker 9: That's right. I need him.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 5:41Speaker 11: We've been living with my grandma for just about a
- 5:43Speaker 11: year now.
- 5:45Speaker 10: And it's time to go. I think everyone's ready.
- 5:48Speaker 3: What are the signs that it's time to go?
- 5:50Speaker 10: Well, I kind of, I actually felt bad. Like, what
- 5:53Speaker 10: was it?
- 5:53Speaker 11: Last weekend, I for once got to sleep in on
- 5:56Speaker 11: a Saturday. And my grandma was going in and out
- 5:59Speaker 11: of the garage at like five o'clock in the morning
- 6:01Speaker 11: and letting the garage door slam.
- 6:03Speaker 10: And apparently when I woke up to go to.
- 6:05Speaker 11: The bathroom, I gave her like the nastiest stink eye,
- 6:08Speaker 11: which I feel really bad.
- 6:09Speaker 10: But also like, what are you doing? It's Saturday morning.
- 6:11Speaker 9: You need to sit down.
- 6:14Speaker 11: So that's I mean, we're just ready, you know, and
- 6:17Speaker 11: we're also living with my mom and dad like they're
- 6:18Speaker 11: in the casino.
- 6:18Speaker 9: It's a whole thing. But my mom, she's a real
- 6:21Speaker 9: estate agent.
- 6:22Speaker 11: And so we've been talking to her about moving out
- 6:26Speaker 11: and looking at houses and doing all of that stuff.
- 6:28Speaker 10: And realistically, we're trying to be out by the end
- 6:30Speaker 10: of the year.
- 6:31Speaker 3: That's soon.
- 6:33Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 11: And well, she told me it only takes like 30
- 6:35Speaker 11: to 45 days before you start like looking, hunting and
- 6:38Speaker 11: doing whatever.
- 6:38Speaker 10: So I was like, all right, cool, whatever.
- 6:40Speaker 9: We got it down.
- 6:40Speaker 11: And it was really funny because she was kind of
- 6:43Speaker 11: breaking down.
- 6:44Speaker 10: What things meant to us.
- 6:45Speaker 11: Like she was talking to me like I knew what
- 6:46Speaker 11: she was talking about. I was like, I don't know
- 6:48Speaker 11: what you're talking about. You need to break this down
- 6:49Speaker 11: and explain it. And it got to one point. Where
- 6:52Speaker 11: Kadeem looked at me and he just.
- 6:55Speaker 10: Laughed and he was like, how are we.
- 6:56Speaker 9: Supposed to have kids?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Why? What do you mean?
- 6:59Speaker 10: Because how are we supposed to afford this?
- 7:02Speaker 9: Like, how are we supposed to afford life?
- 7:05Speaker 11: Because the reality is like, absolutely, we probably could go
- 7:08Speaker 11: and rent at a luxury apartment and spend two grand.
- 7:11Speaker 9: But I want my own stuff.
- 7:13Speaker 10: I want to put my money back into my money.
- 7:15Speaker 10: You know?
- 7:16Speaker 3: Well, I thought part of the reason that you moved
- 7:17Speaker 3: into your grandma's house a year ago was to save money. Exactly.
- 7:20Speaker 10: And I've saved up.
- 7:21Speaker 3: You saved enough to have a kid. Have a kid
- 7:22Speaker 3: to keep staying at your grandma's house. Yeah, I don't
- 7:24Speaker 3: think she would.
- 7:25Speaker 9: Built-in babysitter.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I don't think she would.
- 7:27Speaker 8: My brother, his son, so my nephew, he has two
- 7:30Speaker 8: kids now, and they just moved back in with my brother.
- 7:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 3: So not like starting the family, but have the family.
- 7:35Speaker 3: He's way ahead of them.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:36Speaker 11: Well, truthfully, Kadeem and I have been trying to convince
- 7:39Speaker 11: my mom and my dad to move out.
- 7:41Speaker 10: Of the casino. We're like, you guys get out of here.
- 7:43Speaker 9: Let us.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah. You need your mom to move out of her
- 7:45Speaker 3: mom's house first. She's a real estate agent. Your mom's
- 7:49Speaker 3: got to move out of her mom's house before you.
- 7:51Speaker 3: That's a good idea.
- 7:52Speaker 11: Yes, yes.
- 7:52Speaker 9: I was like, how about y'all get up out of here?
- 7:54Speaker 3: Does your mom and dad pay rent to your grandma?
- 7:57Speaker 10: They have some kind of, I don't know what they do.
- 8:00Speaker 10: I don't know if. Because the house is paid off.
- 8:01Speaker 10: So I think my mom and dad handle, like, all
- 8:03Speaker 10: the bills.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Oh, because I was going to say, you tell your grandma,
- 8:05Speaker 3: we'll pay you rent. Kick them out.
- 8:07Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 10: I don't know what their lay of the land is.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Let me get my dog on the phone, my black
- 8:13Speaker 3: dog on the phone asking.
- 8:15Speaker 11: But it is stressful because I have been saving up
- 8:17Speaker 11: all that money. And, like, the thought that all of
- 8:19Speaker 11: it's going to go gives me a stomachache. Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 9: Except it's not going for naught. It's going into an investment.
- 8:25Speaker 3: It's not going for naught.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 3: That's so smart speak.
- 8:29Speaker 9: It might not actually work there.
- 8:30Speaker 10: I don't know, Rich.
- 8:31Speaker 3: It's not for not.
- 8:33Speaker 8: And that's most people's biggest thing that they put their
- 8:35Speaker 8: money in is their house. And you're just going to
- 8:37Speaker 8: be like the rest of us.
- 8:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I was interviewing a guy the other day and he
- 8:39Speaker 3: used the word exquisite. And I was like, he used
- 8:41Speaker 3: it twice.
- 8:42Speaker 9: I think he used it too many times.
- 8:43Speaker 3: I think you can only use exquisite like in one day. Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 9: I was watching the Great British Revolution. great British baking
- 8:50Speaker 9: show with my kids. And the lady said, that's sensational.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I use that a lot. I say sensational.
- 8:55Speaker 7: Really?
- 8:55Speaker 9: Well, like with a British accent, it sounds really fancy.
- 8:57Speaker 3: No, not with a British accent, but that's a word
- 8:58Speaker 3: that I need to use. Find other words for her.
- 9:02Speaker 9: Oh, you overuse sensationalize.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I do outstanding. What about phenomenal?
- 9:05Speaker 10: I do fantastic.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I try to do fabulous every once in a while,
- 9:08Speaker 3: but then fabulous comes across a little like fabulous. I
- 9:11Speaker 3: hear your wife throw down fantastic a lot. That's a
- 9:15Speaker 3: Blake word. She does fantastic. She says brilliant a lot.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I think sometimes she says brilliant wrong. I like that.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Isn't that kind of brilliant? I'm like, kind of brilliant.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I don't know if you can say kind of brilliant.
- 9:23Speaker 10: Well, kind of, but not really.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Anyway. Well, good luck, Peyton. Thanks. What's the vibe for
- 9:34Speaker 3: horoscopes today?
- 9:35Speaker 9: It is October 1st.
- 9:36Speaker 11: So I'm telling you the exact October activity. You need
- 9:40Speaker 11: to get in to vibe with your Zodiac sign. If
- 9:42Speaker 11: it's your birthday today, you are a Libra. You share
- 9:45Speaker 11: a birthday with Julie Andrews. She is 90 today. 90
- 9:49Speaker 11: years old. Iconic.
- 9:50Speaker 10: I know.
- 9:51Speaker 9: So iconic.
- 9:52Speaker 11: You also share a birthday with Livy Dunn, Brie Larson,
- 9:54Speaker 11: Journey smola and zach galifianakis libras kyle i'm gonna get
- 9:59Speaker 11: right into it for you something that would match your
- 10:01Speaker 11: vibe for your zodiac sign girls you gotta hit a
- 10:05Speaker 11: farmer's market this month you're gonna spend like two hours
- 10:08Speaker 11: holding a single vintage sweater you're gonna aggressively flirt with
- 10:11Speaker 11: the honey vendor and then you're gonna promise three different
- 10:14Speaker 11: people that you're gonna go to their bonfire knowing damn
- 10:16Speaker 11: well you aren't showing up.
- 10:17Speaker 9: Anywhere Where is this farmer's market? I'm there.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Uptown market. We go every Saturday.
- 10:23Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 9: I know there's one in Gilbert, too. Strolling around.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Gilbert's huge.
- 10:26Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Let's say hello to Emily. Good morning, Emily. What's your sign?
- 10:31Speaker 17: I'm a Pisces.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Oh, awesome.
- 10:33Speaker 9: Just like Rich.
- 10:34Speaker 11: So I'm telling you guys the October activity you guys
- 10:37Speaker 11: need to get into. And for you guys, all you're
- 10:40Speaker 11: going to do is what you probably usually do is
- 10:42Speaker 11: take one of those scenic route drives. Put on a
- 10:45Speaker 11: really good playlist. Watch the leaves fall. Stare out the
- 10:48Speaker 11: passenger window. Roll those windows down and just vibe. Put
- 10:52Speaker 11: on some creepy music and just get with your lover
- 10:54Speaker 11: and have a good time.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Sounds great.
- 10:56Speaker 18: Sounds like a trip to Sedona.
- 10:58Speaker 9: Oh, yes.
- 10:59Speaker 10: I love it.
- 10:59Speaker 8: I got your playlist for you, Emily. I created one
- 11:01Speaker 8: that's 198 hours long.
- 11:03Speaker 10: Okay.
- 11:04Speaker 9: Wow.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Emily, have a great day. Thanks for listening.
- 11:08Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 11:09Speaker 19: You guys too.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Barbara, good morning. What's your sign?
- 11:12Speaker 19: I'm an Aquarius. Awesome.
- 11:14Speaker 10: Okay.
- 11:14Speaker 11: So for my Aquarius, the October activity that really vibes
- 11:18Speaker 11: with your zodiac sign, the thing that you got to do,
- 11:21Speaker 11: go to one of those like graveyard ghost tours. So
- 11:24Speaker 11: you're kind of refusing to do basic fall stuff. So
- 11:27Speaker 11: you're going to drag everyone to a cemetery tour. You're
- 11:30Speaker 11: going to probably have the best time of your life.
- 11:32Speaker 11: You're going to totally like be blowing on your friend's
- 11:35Speaker 11: necks and creeping them out.
- 11:36Speaker 10: But that's just what our Aquarius do.
- 11:37Speaker 9: You guys are always down.
- 11:38Speaker 10: Have a good time.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Did you hear your reading, Barbara? Maybe she already left.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Maybe she already left.
- 11:49Speaker 4: There isn't any more.
- 11:50Speaker 7: I'm going on a haunted trail on the 16th.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Oh, perfect.
- 11:55Speaker 9: Then I'll be right on the nose.
- 11:56Speaker 3: All right. Well, thanks for calling in, Barbara.
- 11:59Speaker 15: All right.
- 11:59Speaker 20: Thank you so much.
- 12:00Speaker 3: How about Virgos?
- 12:01Speaker 11: John Jay, for you, the activity in October that's going
- 12:05Speaker 11: to vibe with you?
- 12:06Speaker 10: Do some fall baking.
- 12:07Speaker 11: Get into the kitchen with your wife, with your family.
- 12:11Speaker 11: But the thing is with my Virgos, you guys don't
- 12:13Speaker 11: really do much for fun. So you're going to be
- 12:16Speaker 11: baking for military precision. You have stressed out the entire
- 12:19Speaker 11: kitchen over exact measurements, yelling at anyone who has eaten
- 12:22Speaker 11: all of the cookie dough before you have gotten your
- 12:24Speaker 11: hands on it, and you are judging.
- 12:26Speaker 10: Everyone else's cookie to milk ratio.
- 12:28Speaker 3: You know, I'll take something from Kyle's being a Libra.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I like going to the farmer's market and I buy
- 12:33Speaker 3: baked goods there. Okay. All right. I like eating baked goods.
- 12:37Speaker 3: In fact, there's a great, if you go to Uptown Market,
- 12:39Speaker 3: they have the sourdough bread and the sourdough tortillas. I
- 12:42Speaker 3: eat them every day. They're so good. But have you
- 12:44Speaker 3: ever baked anything? So far, I know you've cooked things.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Get in the kitchen, John. In eighth grade, I remember
- 12:50Speaker 3: making cinnamon rolls. Like in an easy bacon? No, like
- 12:53Speaker 3: in class, in the home economics class, we would make
- 12:56Speaker 3: cinnamon rolls. That's about all I got. All right, what
- 12:58Speaker 3: about for Leo's?
- 12:59Speaker 9: Yeah, okay, I'm a Leo.
- 13:00Speaker 11: For us, Leo's the fall activity we need to get into. Obviously,
- 13:04Speaker 11: the pumpkin patch, but for the photo ops. We are
- 13:07Speaker 11: going to treat a muddy farm like it is a
- 13:09Speaker 11: Vogue cover shoot.
- 13:10Speaker 9: We have held up the tractor.
- 13:12Speaker 10: Ride line for.
- 13:13Speaker 11: like 20 minutes taking photos, demanding that everyone in our
- 13:16Speaker 11: group review the angles before we let anyone leave, which
- 13:18Speaker 11: is valid. I have held up a couple of lines
- 13:20Speaker 11: for photo options.
- 13:21Speaker 3: All right, if we can get you signed, I'll post
- 13:23Speaker 3: it on our website, johnjainrich.com.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Good morning, John Jane Rich. Can I help you?
- 13:31Speaker 19: Yes, hi.
- 13:31Speaker 5: I'm calling because it says the best part.
- 13:33Speaker 18: About being single.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yeah, what's the best part about being single?
- 13:37Speaker 5: Well, not worrying about your husband stealing your identity.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Oh. Or.
- 13:42Speaker 5: Yeah, or racking up credit card debt.
- 13:45Speaker 9: Sounds personal. That's terrible. Did that happen to you?
- 13:49Speaker 5: Yes, it actually did.
- 13:50Speaker 8: I would imagine most of the people that you date
- 13:53Speaker 8: wouldn't steal your identity. So, I mean, you could go
- 13:55Speaker 8: back out there and be okay with that, I would think.
- 13:59Speaker 19: Yeah, I don't know.
- 14:00Speaker 5: I think now I don't want to date anybody because
- 14:03Speaker 5: now it's like, what is your name? And I don't
- 14:06Speaker 5: have a last name now. You know, I don't want
- 14:07Speaker 5: to give anyone my birth date. Or let them know
- 14:10Speaker 5: who my mother is because I'm afraid someone's going to
- 14:12Speaker 5: try to steal my identity again.
- 14:14Speaker 9: How did you end up finding out that he was
- 14:16Speaker 9: doing that to you?
- 14:18Speaker 5: Lawsuits.
- 14:19Speaker 9: Oh, wow.
- 14:19Speaker 5: I had lawsuits coming in my name.
- 14:21Speaker 3: What is your first name?
- 14:22Speaker 16: Ryan.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Okay, Ryan. Well, that's not going to work because I
- 14:25Speaker 3: was going to be like, how's a guy going to
- 14:26Speaker 3: pretend to be Ryan? No, that works. That works. No wonder.
- 14:31Speaker 3: If you were Francine or Stephanie, you'd be like, how
- 14:35Speaker 3: does this get.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Yeah, so now, you know, dating is not an option.
- 14:41Speaker 8: That's so sad. I mean, you already went through it.
- 14:46Speaker 8: What are the chances?
- 14:46Speaker 3: What if she's dating three guys and all three stole
- 14:49Speaker 3: her identity? That would be a bad man picker on you.
- 14:52Speaker 3: You've got to believe, Ryan, that you can find somebody
- 14:54Speaker 3: that's not going to steal your identity. Now, I will
- 14:56Speaker 3: tell you this. Someone stole my wife. My wife's roommate
- 14:58Speaker 3: stole her identity in college, so I guess it can happen.
- 15:01Speaker 3: It's so terrible.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Right?
- 15:02Speaker 3: It can.
- 15:03Speaker 19: And now it's okay.
- 15:04Speaker 21: I'm okay being single.
- 15:06Speaker 5: I'm at an age now where I have my kids,
- 15:09Speaker 5: I have my life, and we're just trying to figure
- 15:12Speaker 5: out what the next thing is to do.
- 15:14Speaker 3: All right, Ryan. Well, that's a good one. So that
- 15:16Speaker 3: is a good reason why it's great to be single.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a wonderful thing.
- 15:22Speaker 3: All right. Thanks for calling in.
- 15:23Speaker 21: You're welcome.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 15:25Speaker 3: All right. As a matter of fact, that leads me
- 15:26Speaker 3: right into this thing. I saw this article from yourtango.com.
- 15:30Speaker 3: It's subtle signs someone you love has a narcissistic victim complex.
- 15:35Speaker 3: What the heck is that? Victim complex.
- 15:37Speaker 9: Define that.
- 15:37Speaker 3: I don't know how to define that.
- 15:39Speaker 11: Victim complex to me would be like they're always the victim.
- 15:42Speaker 3: So it says like they keep score of everything people
- 15:45Speaker 3: have done to them in a loving relationship. It isn't
- 15:47Speaker 3: healthy to keep score. A partnership should be equal. And
- 15:50Speaker 3: neither partner should hold their sacrifices over the other's head.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So does that... That makes sense.
- 15:56Speaker 8: I've done everything for you growing up or one of
- 15:59Speaker 8: those things. Is that what that is?
- 16:00Speaker 3: I don't know. Victimhood is real and suffering deserves acknowledgement,
- 16:04Speaker 3: but identity built around victimhood, particularly when it's paired with
- 16:07Speaker 3: the entitlement and low empathy characteristic of narcissism, may perpetuate
- 16:11Speaker 3: the very impersonal harm it claims to protest. Does that
- 16:16Speaker 3: make sense to you guys?
- 16:17Speaker 8: No.
- 16:17Speaker 3: You guys keep asking me questions.
- 16:19Speaker 10: You ask questions.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I have to keep reading. I feel like. I like
- 16:21Speaker 3: the headlines. I just move on.
- 16:23Speaker 9: I don't know if it does.
- 16:24Speaker 11: I think maybe it's saying that the two go hand
- 16:26Speaker 11: in hand, right? Because if you're narcissistic, then you think
- 16:28Speaker 11: everything's about you, right?
- 16:30Speaker 9: It's all about you, me.
- 16:31Speaker 7: Me, me, me, me.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. And then you throw the victim in there.
- 16:32Speaker 9: And then you throw the victim in.
- 16:33Speaker 11: So it's like if somebody is being like nasty to you,
- 16:36Speaker 11: maybe if you're a narcissist, you're like, how could you?
- 16:39Speaker 9: Like, I'm so great. There's no way that I could
- 16:42Speaker 9: be that way.
- 16:42Speaker 15: Okay.
- 16:42Speaker 9: That would make sense.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And maybe they don't move past it. So subtle signs
- 16:46Speaker 3: someone you love has a narcissistic victim complex. They need
- 16:50Speaker 3: you to recognize that they were wronged. That's one of
- 16:54Speaker 3: the things. Narcissists don't just struggle to let bygones be
- 16:57Speaker 3: bygones because of their need to be a victim. They
- 17:00Speaker 3: demand that others recognize they were wronged. They view ordinary
- 17:05Speaker 3: criticism as unfair treatment. Narcissistic people hate criticism.
- 17:10Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Any comment or cause for concern is an attack on
- 17:13Speaker 3: their ego.
- 17:14Speaker 10: That exactly goes. It's like, what do you mean you're correcting?
- 17:17Speaker 11: Even if it's like, even if it's just like helpful.
- 17:20Speaker 9: It's like, what? What I gave you is great.
- 17:23Speaker 10: There's no way it needs anything else.
- 17:26Speaker 3: They can't admit that they contributed to the problem. Well,
- 17:30Speaker 3: that's all of us.
- 17:30Speaker 9: I know a couple of those.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Yeah. That's all of us all the time. They believe
- 17:34Speaker 3: they deserve special consideration. Healing from trauma is a journey.
- 17:38Speaker 3: While average people will use resources available, narcissists would rather
- 17:41Speaker 3: remain stagnant than grow. They're quick to act entitled. They
- 17:47Speaker 3: see every boundary as an example of cruelty. When you're
- 17:50Speaker 3: in love with a narcissist constantly in a victim mentality,
- 17:54Speaker 3: you may set boundaries, but a narcissist will see this
- 17:57Speaker 3: as disrespectful. Ooh, this doesn't sound like a good relationship.
- 17:59Speaker 9: This sounds toxic.
- 18:00Speaker 3: To them, setting boundaries feels like a sign of rejection. Ooh.
- 18:04Speaker 3: They can't stand when someone else receives sympathy or attention.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Narcissistic people hate sharing the spotlight with anyone else. Once
- 18:12Speaker 3: they're no longer the center of attention, they throw a fit.
- 18:15Speaker 3: It's immature, but these people can't help it. They can't
- 18:18Speaker 3: accept what they did wrong. You can't help people who
- 18:21Speaker 3: don't want to be helped, even if you love them.
- 18:22Speaker 3: It doesn't matter how much you beg for them to change,
- 18:25Speaker 3: but narcissists don't change. Well, that's true.
- 18:28Speaker 8: We know if you like, you know, try to correct
- 18:29Speaker 8: somebody like that, it's not going to go anywhere.
- 18:31Speaker 3: So why bother? They hold grudges. There's nothing good about
- 18:33Speaker 3: holding a grudge, especially in a relationship. But for narcissists
- 18:36Speaker 3: with chronic victimhood tendencies, they don't forgive you. You could
- 18:40Speaker 3: write them a 10-page apology, completely taken to blame, and
- 18:42Speaker 3: it would still never be enough. They overlook your suffering.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Narcissistic people are quick to overlook another person's suffering, even
- 18:50Speaker 3: if it's the romantic partner. They have no compassion for others,
- 18:53Speaker 3: and it's hard for them to understand other person's perspective
- 18:55Speaker 3: or pain.
- 18:57Speaker 9: That also sounds a little psychotic too.
- 18:58Speaker 10: I was going to say, yeah. It seems like a
- 19:01Speaker 10: lot of narcissists lack empathy.
- 19:04Speaker 3: So then how do you keep a relationship if you're
- 19:06Speaker 3: that other person? You don't.
- 19:07Speaker 10: I mean, you usually don't or it's toxic and unhealthy.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Run. I was going to say. What if it's your
- 19:12Speaker 3: family member though? What do you do with that? Oh,
- 19:14Speaker 3: it's just the people you love. Narcissists.
- 19:15Speaker 15: Right.
- 19:16Speaker 11: And I think that's where like the emotional stuff comes
- 19:18Speaker 11: into it, right?
- 19:19Speaker 8: How do you try to set boundaries and nobody, they
- 19:22Speaker 8: don't respect the boundaries.
- 19:23Speaker 3: That's tough.
- 19:23Speaker 9: You got to cut them off.
- 19:24Speaker 12: Oof.
- 19:25Speaker 3: So that's just a little information. I think that Ryan,
- 19:28Speaker 3: who called in, might have been in one of those situations.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Thank you, Ryan. Thanks for listening. Hey, it's time for
- 19:39Speaker 3: stacks and hacks. I have stacks of information and Rich
- 19:43Speaker 3: has life hacks. There's something that's trending pretty big with men.
- 19:48Speaker 7: Men.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Only Pilates classes are growing in popularity. But instructors are
- 19:56Speaker 3: saying that a lot of men think Pilates will be easy.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Yep.
- 19:59Speaker 3: It is not. I am one of those. And then
- 20:03Speaker 3: these men are getting humbled quickly.
- 20:05Speaker 9: Yes.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I am one of those. I've taken two Pilates classes,
- 20:08Speaker 3: two different kind. I've taken the kind on the floor
- 20:10Speaker 3: and I've taken the kind on the machine. Both times
- 20:12Speaker 3: I couldn't walk the next day.
- 20:13Speaker 11: One of my friends, she's a Pilates instructor and her
- 20:16Speaker 11: husband plays basketball overseas. So anytime he's back in town,
- 20:20Speaker 11: she always puts him through workouts in her Pilates class
- 20:23Speaker 11: and she records him.
- 20:24Speaker 9: And this man struggles.
- 20:27Speaker 11: And I'm like, you are like making like a million
- 20:30Speaker 11: dollars in one season over in China or wherever you're at.
- 20:33Speaker 11: And you can't even hang with the girly pops in
- 20:36Speaker 11: their cute socks.
- 20:38Speaker 3: This is also, I've seen this the last three days
- 20:40Speaker 3: in the news. This story has gotten big. The guy
- 20:43Speaker 3: in Virginia on a motorcycle got pulled over speeding because
- 20:46Speaker 3: he was going really, really, really fast. And the cop
- 20:49Speaker 3: pulled him over and said, why are you going so fast?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Here's why he was going so fast.
- 20:53Speaker 17: I was moving a little quick, wasn't I?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, way too quick.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I know.
- 20:55Speaker 6: I was trying to hit the McDonald's breakfast.
- 20:58Speaker 19: I know.
- 20:58Speaker 22: Coming from there in here is like two minutes.
- 21:01Speaker 21: I know.
- 21:01Speaker 14: I got you.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Totally get that. I woke up late. Wow, I can
- 21:04Speaker 3: see you were rushing.
- 21:04Speaker 13: 72, it's way too fast.
- 21:06Speaker 9: No, actually, valid.
- 21:08Speaker 10: Like, don't speed, but I get it.
- 21:09Speaker 9: He missed breakfast, so he was calling us. Yeah, especially
- 21:12Speaker 9: hash browns. Exactly.
- 21:13Speaker 11: And McDonald's, they have that hard cut off. If you
- 21:15Speaker 11: were not in line at 1030, you ain't getting it.
- 21:18Speaker 3: You ever use that crazy excuse to get out of
- 21:19Speaker 3: a speeding ticket?
- 21:20Speaker 23: Me?
- 21:21Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 9: I'm sure I have.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Because I wonder if he was probably hoping the cops
- 21:24Speaker 3: would go, oh, yeah, I get it. I'm sure I have.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I'm sorry I pulled you over. I remember when my
- 21:31Speaker 3: wife and I were trying to conceive and we were
- 21:33Speaker 3: going through the infertility stuff, I had to drop off
- 21:35Speaker 3: a sample. you know, all my fellows. And I was
- 21:39Speaker 3: rushing because there's a time frame and I got pulled
- 21:41Speaker 3: over and I had my sample in a brown paper
- 21:44Speaker 3: bag and the cop was like, pulled me over and goes,
- 21:46Speaker 3: why are you speeding? And I go, here's why. I go,
- 21:48Speaker 3: I'm trying to have a baby with my wife and
- 21:50Speaker 3: I hold the bag up and I go, this is
- 21:51Speaker 3: my sperm sample. He goes, I've been a cop for
- 21:54Speaker 3: 20 years. I've never heard that before. He's like, go on,
- 21:56Speaker 3: get out of here. More than $ 10 million worth of
- 22:02Speaker 3: cocaine stored in a courtroom as evidence was found to
- 22:06Speaker 3: have been replaced with flour. Yeah. What does that tell you?
- 22:12Speaker 9: Somebody stole the cocaine.
- 22:14Speaker 3: That'd be some dirty, some police.
- 22:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 22:18Speaker 3: That is nuts.
- 22:19Speaker 10: Because you could tell the difference.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Well, I would think so.
- 22:22Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 3: That is so insane.
- 22:24Speaker 8: Do you know how in the TV shows, though, there's
- 22:26Speaker 8: always some guy who's got a knife and he cuts
- 22:28Speaker 8: the bag open and puts it on his tongue.
- 22:29Speaker 3: He's like, cocaine. I don't think I would know how
- 22:31Speaker 3: to do that. I would do it and then you'd
- 22:34Speaker 3: be like, oh.
- 22:35Speaker 11: I think like your mouth goes numb.
- 22:37Speaker 9: That's why they do that.
- 22:38Speaker 3: That's how they know? Yeah. A Florida mom is accused
- 22:40Speaker 3: of leaving her four kids at home alone for days
- 22:43Speaker 3: when she went on a cruise, included is a two-year-old
- 22:46Speaker 3: and a two-month-old. This is the woman. She's being scolded
- 22:50Speaker 3: by the judge. You cannot make this up. She said
- 22:53Speaker 3: she went on a cruise and left her children home alone.
- 22:56Speaker 10: Including a two-month-old baby.
- 22:57Speaker 22: She's going to drop them off at the mother's house,
- 23:01Speaker 22: but never did.
- 23:01Speaker 12: These poor kids, we're home alone for three days.
- 23:05Speaker 3: If you would agree to supervised visitation. I don't think
- 23:09Speaker 3: I want to do that.
- 23:10Speaker 23: Who leaves the kids, four.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Little kids alone?
- 23:12Speaker 23: Judge, it's an allegation at this time.
- 23:14Speaker 9: To go on a cruise.
- 23:15Speaker 7: Judge, at this time, it's only an allegation. She denies
- 23:18Speaker 7: the allegation.
- 23:18Speaker 3: They arrested her disembarking from the cruise ship. Isn't that crazy?
- 23:23Speaker 9: And that judge is like, are you stupid?
- 23:25Speaker 3: A two month old. She's going to drop him off
- 23:28Speaker 3: and decide, well, I can't be late for the cruise.
- 23:30Speaker 10: That's disturbing.
- 23:31Speaker 9: The older kids, the four year old will take care
- 23:32Speaker 9: of the two month old.
- 23:33Speaker 10: Okay.
- 23:34Speaker 11: The four year old probably can't even make their own
- 23:36Speaker 11: ramen noodles right now.
- 23:37Speaker 3: No, definitely not. 48% of Americans are what's called career cushioning,
- 23:42Speaker 3: which is exploring what backup options they have if their
- 23:45Speaker 3: current job doesn't work out. I interviewed on the highly
- 23:51Speaker 3: successful John G. Van Ness podcast the other day, and
- 23:52Speaker 3: it's coming out probably in a week or two, Matt Peterson.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Matt Peterson has almost 7 million followers on TikTok. He's
- 23:58Speaker 3: from here. We've had him. He's got famous because of us.
- 24:00Speaker 3: He's the guy that asked Molly to Cypress to prom.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Now he travels the world. He's a huge TikToker. I
- 24:05Speaker 3: said to him, I go, what would you do if
- 24:07Speaker 3: TikTok went away tomorrow? What would you do? Like, what's
- 24:10Speaker 3: your backup plan? And he had one. Guess what it is.
- 24:13Speaker 3: What is it? Doing a radio show.
- 24:15Speaker 15: Oh, really?
- 24:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, oh, way to go, Matt.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Okay.
- 24:18Speaker 8: But Rich, what do you got for life hacks? All right, well,
- 24:21Speaker 8: so here's a little mind hack for eating healthy. In fact,
- 24:23Speaker 8: experts say this is one of the best ways to
- 24:27Speaker 8: actually help you lose weight.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Are you interested now, Peyton?
- 24:31Speaker 10: Yes, I'm trying to be, what do they say, slim thick.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Okay, so you're trying to be what?
- 24:37Speaker 10: Slim thick.
- 24:38Speaker 3: What does slim thick mean?
- 24:39Speaker 11: It means you're slim, but you're also thick. It's like
- 24:41Speaker 11: you got a tiny waist, but a fat, you know?
- 24:43Speaker 3: Oh, you're right.
- 24:45Speaker 8: I remember those videos that they called abs of steel
- 24:49Speaker 8: in buns of steel.
- 24:51Speaker 3: I have abs of buns. That's what I have.
- 24:55Speaker 8: Okay, anyway, so if you pack your lunch when you're hungry,
- 24:58Speaker 8: like they say you should bring your lunch, but don't
- 25:00Speaker 8: pack it when you're hungry because then everything in your
- 25:02Speaker 8: kitchen looks pretty good. Instead, they say pack tomorrow's lunch
- 25:06Speaker 8: right after you finish dinner. Since you're already full, you
- 25:09Speaker 8: may be less tempted to overpack or toss in extra
- 25:11Speaker 8: snacks just because they look good in the moment.
- 25:13Speaker 3: And they say most.
- 25:14Speaker 8: People who do that, they say to do this when
- 25:16Speaker 8: you're grocery shopping too. Eat lunch and then go to
- 25:19Speaker 8: the grocery store. Same thing when you're packing your lunch.
- 25:21Speaker 8: They say most people who do this can lose up
- 25:23Speaker 8: to three or four pounds extra a month. So try
- 25:26Speaker 8: that little lunch and dinner life hack out. And that
- 25:29Speaker 8: can be found at johnjandridge.com.
- 25:32Speaker 3: All right, we're getting ready for War of the Roses. Hannah,
- 25:35Speaker 3: give us a little bit about what's going on in
- 25:36Speaker 3: your life.
- 25:37Speaker 7: Yeah, so I think my husband is cheating on me,
- 25:40Speaker 7: and he's giving me everything I need to know by
- 25:43Speaker 7: his phone behavior.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Phone behavior is a big one. Okay, we want to
- 25:46Speaker 3: hear the whole story. War of the Roses starts next
- 25:48Speaker 3: with John Jane Rich. Hey, dummy, if you.
- 25:51Speaker 9: Get free roses, it's a trap.
- 25:54Speaker 17: War of the Roses starts right now on John Jay
- 25:57Speaker 17: and Rich.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Hey, it's time for War of the Roses. You think
- 25:59Speaker 3: someone's cheating on you? You come to us. We want
- 26:01Speaker 3: to hear the reasons why. Then we're going to call
- 26:03Speaker 3: the person. Tell them they just won a dozen romantic
- 26:07Speaker 3: red roses. They can send them to anyone. Hannah, good morning.
- 26:10Speaker 7: Good morning.
- 26:11Speaker 24: How are you?
- 26:12Speaker 3: Great. What's your story? Who's cheating on you and why?
- 26:14Speaker 15: My husband.
- 26:17Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 26:18Speaker 7: So he's just been acting really weird, like specifically with
- 26:21Speaker 7: his phone. And I like, I know that like, that's
- 26:25Speaker 7: like basic cheating red flag, right? Like something's going on,
- 26:28Speaker 7: but basically it's getting to the point where I can't
- 26:31Speaker 7: ignore it. And he will like leave his phone in
- 26:33Speaker 7: the kitchen, walk into the another room. And then seconds later,
- 26:37Speaker 7: he's running back in to grab his phone and he's
- 26:40Speaker 7: taking it everywhere.
- 26:41Speaker 19: He goes like to.
- 26:42Speaker 7: The bathroom when he goes into the kitchen, like it's
- 26:45Speaker 7: no matter where his phone is on him. He keeps
- 26:47Speaker 7: it flipped over. It's attached to his hip. Like, I don't,
- 26:52Speaker 7: it's like something is off truly like women's intuition, whatever
- 26:56Speaker 7: you will, but I'm getting wigged out.
- 26:59Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 27:00Speaker 11: That would actually freak me out. It's like you leave your,
- 27:03Speaker 11: you leave your phone on the kitchen counter and you
- 27:05Speaker 11: go mind your business. And then your man's running back
- 27:07Speaker 11: in frantically looking for his phone. Like that's a weird
- 27:10Speaker 11: guilt that he probably is having.
- 27:12Speaker 9: Like that's weird.
- 27:14Speaker 8: Maybe back in the day, there were a bunch of
- 27:16Speaker 8: tells that you'd have to look for. But in this
- 27:18Speaker 8: day and age, Once the phone behavior gets weird, you
- 27:21Speaker 8: got yourself some mystery to solve.
- 27:23Speaker 9: Although, I always try to look at the glass half full.
- 27:27Speaker 9: Do you have any special things coming up, a birthday
- 27:30Speaker 9: or an anniversary? Because you could make the excuse that
- 27:33Speaker 9: if this is the only shady behavior he has right now,
- 27:36Speaker 9: what if he has like a gift coming for you
- 27:38Speaker 9: and he doesn't want you to see the notification or,
- 27:40Speaker 9: you know, or like he's been talking to a jeweler
- 27:43Speaker 9: or whatever, right?
- 27:44Speaker 11: I mean, no.
- 27:46Speaker 7: Like, nothing that I can think of.
- 27:49Speaker 10: And, like, it's a little far out from Christmas, too.
- 27:51Speaker 19: Like.
- 27:52Speaker 9: Not if you have something like.
- 27:54Speaker 10: Unless it's like.
- 27:55Speaker 9: Unless you have like something custom made.
- 27:58Speaker 10: That's true. You guys are like really like.
- 28:00Speaker 3: I'm doing that right now, trying to come up with
- 28:01Speaker 3: a Christmas thing.
- 28:02Speaker 10: I do my Christmas shopping a week before.
- 28:04Speaker 9: Well, Hannah, is there any other like weird behavior you've noticed?
- 28:08Speaker 7: Well, I mean, I'm probably feeling like extra paranoid because...
- 28:12Speaker 7: So this happened two years ago. It's been a while,
- 28:13Speaker 7: but I found out that he had this whole separate
- 28:17Speaker 7: Snapchat account that I didn't know existed. And there were
- 28:21Speaker 7: girls on there that I'd never heard of. And I
- 28:25Speaker 7: confronted him about it. And he like swore up and down.
- 28:27Speaker 7: It was an old account, but he barely used it
- 28:29Speaker 7: and nothing inappropriate was happening. But like that was concerning
- 28:33Speaker 7: to me. And I never actually caught him cheating. And
- 28:36Speaker 7: I eventually just let it go. But like, I didn't trust,
- 28:38Speaker 7: I didn't fully trust that explanation. Like I still feel
- 28:40Speaker 7: like something was being weird. And now all of a
- 28:43Speaker 7: sudden he's being weird with his phone again. And now
- 28:44Speaker 7: this is all coming back up for me. Like, okay,
- 28:47Speaker 7: maybe I was onto something two years ago and, Here
- 28:50Speaker 7: we are again.
- 28:50Speaker 9: Oh, I probably feel the same way.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:52Speaker 11: Because you probably have that underlying lack of trust, whether
- 28:57Speaker 11: you were it was buried deep or not.
- 28:59Speaker 3: What's your husband's name?
- 29:01Speaker 4: Caleb.
- 29:02Speaker 3: So does he happen to wear one of those wearable
- 29:05Speaker 3: devices like an aura ring or a whoop or any
- 29:08Speaker 3: of those things? Do you know? He doesn't. Okay. So
- 29:13Speaker 3: let me give you another, like Kyle looking at the
- 29:15Speaker 3: glass half full. So I'm obsessed with my steps.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:19Speaker 3: But I wear, I wear a whoop and it monitors
- 29:22Speaker 3: my steps. And there was like four days where my,
- 29:25Speaker 3: my whoop long story short, I lost it in the
- 29:27Speaker 3: ocean and I could not count my steps. And the
- 29:31Speaker 3: only way to count my steps was to hold my
- 29:34Speaker 3: phone with me. You know what I mean? Cause you're,
- 29:36Speaker 3: if you go to the little, I, the little heart,
- 29:37Speaker 3: not I heart, but there's a little app with a
- 29:39Speaker 3: heart on it. and that counts your step, but it
- 29:41Speaker 3: only counts your steps. If you have your phone with you.
- 29:44Speaker 3: And I mean, I took it to the bathroom. I
- 29:46Speaker 3: wanted every fricking step that I could get credit for
- 29:48Speaker 3: during those four days. I didn't have a whoop. So,
- 29:50Speaker 3: I mean, if he's one of those guys, has he
- 29:52Speaker 3: ever talked to you about his steps? No, definitely not.
- 29:55Speaker 3: It was a long shot. I know. That doesn't explain
- 29:58Speaker 3: the Snapchat. No, no, no. Hold on. Snapchat was two
- 30:01Speaker 3: years ago. Yeah, I know. Snapchat was two years ago.
- 30:03Speaker 3: This is now. So maybe she called him out two
- 30:06Speaker 3: years ago. She caught it. Now for the last two years,
- 30:07Speaker 3: he's been a great guy. Now he's just like in
- 30:09Speaker 3: his health and nutrition. He's counting steps. I'm not going
- 30:12Speaker 3: from two years ago.
- 30:12Speaker 9: Well, we'll find out, right?
- 30:14Speaker 15: All right.
- 30:14Speaker 3: So we're going to call Caleb. We're going to see
- 30:15Speaker 3: who he sends the flowers to. You got that, Hannah?
- 30:18Speaker 3: You ready? All right.
- 30:19Speaker 22: Yeah, I'm ready.
- 30:20Speaker 3: War of the Roses continues next. It's John T.
- 30:25Speaker 23: Rich.
- 30:26Speaker 3: We are in the middle of War of the Roses.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Hannah thinks her husband Caleb could be cheating because he
- 30:32Speaker 3: takes his phone with him everywhere. He puts his phone down.
- 30:35Speaker 3: If he forgets his phone, he runs back in and
- 30:36Speaker 3: gets it. He always has it face down. She is
- 30:39Speaker 3: just paranoid, confused, but she's got a reason to because
- 30:42Speaker 3: a couple years ago she found out he had a
- 30:43Speaker 3: whole separate Snapchat account. Trust issues. And then when you
- 30:46Speaker 3: confronted him, what did he say when you said, hey,
- 30:48Speaker 3: what's up with this? He said, it's an old account.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I don't use it. Right?
- 30:51Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 30:52Speaker 7: He was like super shady about it.
- 30:54Speaker 3: But you never really caught him cheating?
- 30:56Speaker 7: No, I never did. But, like, you know when someone's, like,
- 30:59Speaker 7: lying to your face.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Right, right, right. All right, well, let's get him on
- 31:02Speaker 3: the phone and see who he sends flowers to. Here
- 31:04Speaker 3: we go, Colin.
- 31:04Speaker 15: Perfect.
- 31:05Speaker 9: Let's get him.
- 31:15Speaker 11: Hello?
- 31:15Speaker 18: Hi there.
- 31:16Speaker 9: Is Caleb available?
- 31:18Speaker 3: Yeah, this is Caleb.
- 31:19Speaker 22: Oh, perfect.
- 31:19Speaker 9: So, Caleb, it's kind of your lucky day. My name
- 31:21Speaker 9: is Ellie. I'm with this new company. We're called GNR Flowers,
- 31:24Speaker 9: and we're trying all the ways of marketing, and we
- 31:26Speaker 9: kind of had this social media campaign going where you've
- 31:29Speaker 9: been chosen to be a micro-influencer. Here's why this is
- 31:31Speaker 9: really cool for you. Caleb, you get to send our
- 31:33Speaker 9: most romantic bouquet of roses. It's a dozen long-stem red roses.
- 31:37Speaker 9: It comes in a beautiful vase. It woos pretty much anyone.
- 31:40Speaker 9: And it's going to cost you nothing, Caleb. Like for
- 31:43Speaker 9: absolute free, you can send this to someone special in
- 31:45Speaker 9: your life. And we're hoping that you get such a
- 31:48Speaker 9: great reaction that you'll want to share JNR Flowers on
- 31:50Speaker 9: whichever social media platform you use the most.
- 31:52Speaker 16: Okay, it's free, you said?
- 31:54Speaker 9: Yeah, like I'm not gonna ask you for credit card information.
- 31:57Speaker 9: We're not gonna send you a bill or anything. We
- 31:59Speaker 9: really do just want you to like tell as many
- 32:01Speaker 9: people about us as possible. And that's kind of what
- 32:03Speaker 9: we get in return. Like I said, I don't need
- 32:06Speaker 9: any real personal information, but the only thing I really
- 32:09Speaker 9: need from you is we're gonna send the bouquet out
- 32:13Speaker 9: with a card. And if you could just let me
- 32:15Speaker 9: know what you want on the card, we'll start with
- 32:18Speaker 9: the message and then we'll go name and address and
- 32:20Speaker 9: I'll give you a time they'll be delivered.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Uh, okay.
- 32:23Speaker 16: Um, yeah, no, that sounds good.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Um, all right. Yeah.
- 32:27Speaker 16: Um, but on the card, I'm so lucky to have you.
- 32:32Speaker 9: That's very sweet. So lucky to have you. You want
- 32:35Speaker 9: like a love Caleb?
- 32:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 16: Love Caleb.
- 32:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Perfect.
- 32:40Speaker 9: And then who did you want me to address this to?
- 32:42Speaker 25: My wife, Hannah.
- 32:44Speaker 14: Perfect.
- 32:44Speaker 9: Hannah should be excited. She'll love these.
- 32:47Speaker 18: I Caleb.
- 32:48Speaker 19: Hi, it's Hannah.
- 32:49Speaker 7: So I'm just like, okay, great. Like I need you
- 32:52Speaker 7: to start talking. Like, I don't know what the think
- 32:54Speaker 7: right now. Truly.
- 32:55Speaker 16: So wait, Hannah, what are you doing on the phone?
- 32:58Speaker 14: Wait, what?
- 32:59Speaker 3: What's Hannah?
- 33:00Speaker 16: What are you on the phone for?
- 33:01Speaker 3: Huh?
- 33:01Speaker 7: I would like to know what you are hiding.
- 33:04Speaker 6: What are you hiding?
- 33:05Speaker 7: I need you to tell me I'm done.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I'm done.
- 33:07Speaker 7: I know what you're hiding.
- 33:09Speaker 16: I'm not.
- 33:10Speaker 4: What?
- 33:11Speaker 16: And I'm not hiding anything. Why are you on the phone?
- 33:14Speaker 17: What are you doing?
- 33:15Speaker 3: You're on the radio, Caleb. You're on John Jay and
- 33:17Speaker 3: Rich War of the Roses.
- 33:19Speaker 16: I'm on the radio?
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey there. Hey.
- 33:23Speaker 22: Yeah, what are you hiding?
- 33:24Speaker 7: I need to know what you're hiding.
- 33:27Speaker 16: I'm not hiding anything. All right, whatever's going on, it's
- 33:31Speaker 16: not a woman, if that's what you're thinking, okay? I'm
- 33:33Speaker 16: not hiding anything, but it's not a woman.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Why did you go there right away?
- 33:36Speaker 19: What does that mean?
- 33:40Speaker 7: So you're hiding something.
- 33:42Speaker 4: What?
- 33:43Speaker 1: Hannah.
- 33:45Speaker 10: Oh, my gosh.
- 33:45Speaker 4: I can't even believe we're doing this on the radio
- 33:47Speaker 4: right now.
- 33:48Speaker 3: It's a little man.
- 33:49Speaker 4: He's in my trunk.
- 33:51Speaker 3: I'm hiding a little man.
- 33:54Speaker 19: He's not a woman.
- 33:55Speaker 7: Like, I am so fired up right now. So you're
- 33:58Speaker 7: hiding something. You just admitted you're hiding something. So I
- 34:00Speaker 7: need to know what it is.
- 34:01Speaker 16: Hannah, I've been selling some of our stuff online. That's
- 34:05Speaker 16: what I've been hiding.
- 34:07Speaker 5: What?
- 34:08Speaker 22: What are you selling?
- 34:10Speaker 16: I'm selling some of our old shit online, okay? Some
- 34:12Speaker 16: of the stuff that we don't use anymore. Stuff that, like,
- 34:14Speaker 16: we don't even know that's even in the house anymore.
- 34:17Speaker 16: I'm selling stuff on Facebook, eBay, whatever the case may be.
- 34:19Speaker 16: I'm selling all of our old shit so I can save.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Up some money.
- 34:22Speaker 3: For what?
- 34:22Speaker 7: Okay, so what are you selling? I am highly concerned
- 34:26Speaker 7: right now. Oh, my God.
- 34:28Speaker 16: Well, the first thing I sold, I don't know, a
- 34:30Speaker 16: couple weeks ago was the air fryer that we never use.
- 34:33Speaker 7: We use our air fryer.
- 34:36Speaker 19: Hannah, we haven't used the air fryer in like seven weeks. Hannah,
- 34:40Speaker 19: I sold the air fryer three weeks ago.
- 34:42Speaker 16: You're just now finding out about the fact that we
- 34:44Speaker 16: don't have an air fryer anymore.
- 34:46Speaker 19: Think about it.
- 34:48Speaker 9: Why would you hide this?
- 34:49Speaker 19: Why am I hiding it from you?
- 34:51Speaker 7: This seems such a lie. I'm having trouble believing you.
- 34:55Speaker 7: Why are you selling our air fryer?
- 34:58Speaker 16: Well, it's not just the air fryer. I'm selling a
- 35:00Speaker 16: whole bunch of shit. That's, you know, I'm selling things
- 35:02Speaker 16: that we need to sit there and sell because one,
- 35:04Speaker 16: we have too much crap in our house. Number two,
- 35:06Speaker 16: we need to sit there and start saving some money.
- 35:08Speaker 16: And number three, you don't even know when I'm selling stuff.
- 35:12Speaker 16: That's how much you little like that. That's how little
- 35:13Speaker 16: you care about the air fryer and all the other things.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Why so angry, Caleb? Why so angry?
- 35:19Speaker 16: Well, one, I'm on the radio randomly being accused of cheating.
- 35:22Speaker 16: That's kind of pissing me off.
- 35:24Speaker 9: Yeah, that's valid.
- 35:25Speaker 16: I lied to you about getting free flowers, which.
- 35:27Speaker 4: You know, I thought was going to be kind of cool,
- 35:28Speaker 4: but I'm not going.
- 35:29Speaker 3: To sell them anyway.
- 35:31Speaker 17: And then number three, I'm being cornered by my wife
- 35:34Speaker 17: and some random host on the radio about cheating on
- 35:37Speaker 17: my wife when really all I'm doing is trying to
- 35:39Speaker 17: sell all the random shit that we have in our
- 35:41Speaker 17: house that we don't freaking use anymore.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Okay, but why hide it?
- 35:44Speaker 9: I don't understand.
- 35:45Speaker 3: What else are you selling?
- 35:46Speaker 7: Why are you secretly selling?
- 35:50Speaker 16: Well, one, Hannah, because you don't want to sell anything.
- 35:52Speaker 16: You want to sit there and.
- 35:54Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest with you.
- 35:55Speaker 16: You're being a little bit of a hoarder when it
- 35:56Speaker 16: comes to all of our stuff. We sit there and
- 35:58Speaker 16: get rid of stuff. OK, I'm trying to sit there
- 36:00Speaker 16: and save some money because I want to go on
- 36:02Speaker 16: a trip next year and I don't want to put
- 36:03Speaker 16: it on a credit card. I would like to actually
- 36:05Speaker 16: be able to pay things with cash. We have so
- 36:08Speaker 16: much crap in our house and I'm thinking to myself, hey,
- 36:10Speaker 16: we haven't used this air fryer in, I don't know,
- 36:12Speaker 16: over a month.
- 36:13Speaker 19: Why don't we go and sell that?
- 36:14Speaker 16: And then, boom, now I got some cash that I
- 36:16Speaker 16: can use to sit there and pay for our next vacation.
- 36:18Speaker 3: What else? What else have you sold? What are other
- 36:20Speaker 3: things besides the air fryer?
- 36:22Speaker 16: Oh, gosh, I really don't want to do that.
- 36:23Speaker 3: He's going to be so mad.
- 36:26Speaker 11: I was going to say, what family heirloom did you sell?
- 36:29Speaker 3: Caleb. Beanie babies.
- 36:32Speaker 16: I've been selling the beanie babies.
- 36:35Speaker 4: What?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:37Speaker 16: Remember the box that your mom gave us? I don't know,
- 36:39Speaker 16: like a year or two or whatever ago, all those.
- 36:42Speaker 16: random and really useless beanie babies that are just sitting
- 36:45Speaker 16: in our garage.
- 36:46Speaker 7: They're collectibles, Caleb.
- 36:48Speaker 19: You're not, what are you talking about?
- 36:50Speaker 7: You've been selling them.
- 36:53Speaker 16: Yeah, well, I know they're collectibles.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Trust me.
- 36:55Speaker 16: There have been a lot of people that have been very.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Interested in them.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Really? That's kind of cool. That's like free cash.
- 37:01Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean, it's been great. I mean, like, honestly,
- 37:04Speaker 16: who even, I don't understand the obsession with these Beanie
- 37:07Speaker 16: Baby things. I don't really understand why we even have
- 37:09Speaker 16: them in our house.
- 37:10Speaker 4: So how many have you sold?
- 37:11Speaker 7: They're selling great?
- 37:13Speaker 19: Yeah, no, they're selling really great, actually.
- 37:15Speaker 2: How many have you sold?
- 37:17Speaker 16: These things, they're selling like hotcakes, and I'm getting a
- 37:20Speaker 16: lot of money that we're going to be able to
- 37:21Speaker 16: use for a good business.
- 37:22Speaker 5: How many have you sold?
- 37:22Speaker 19: It's going to be great.
- 37:24Speaker 16: I don't know, 17, 18, 19, I don't know, somewhere
- 37:28Speaker 16: around that time.
- 37:30Speaker 9: That's why he's hiding it.
- 37:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:33Speaker 3: That's why he led with the air fryer.
- 37:35Speaker 19: Yeah, I mean.
- 37:38Speaker 23: I don't know.
- 37:39Speaker 19: It does sound like, I mean, to be fair, one
- 37:41Speaker 19: guy did buy six or seven of them. Did you
- 37:42Speaker 19: sell the Princess Diana one?
- 37:43Speaker 7: Because if you did, I'm going to kill you. Did
- 37:45Speaker 7: you sell that one?
- 37:47Speaker 16: Which one is the Princess Diana one?
- 37:48Speaker 3: I know that one.
- 37:50Speaker 9: Oh, he doesn't even know?
- 37:51Speaker 3: The purple one.
- 37:51Speaker 6: The, like, white rose, the little purple, white rose, like.
- 37:55Speaker 22: collectible that i.
- 37:56Speaker 16: Yeah no i definitely sold that one no very very
- 38:01Speaker 16: well someone paid top dollar for that one.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Isn't that like the pikachu of pdp i was.
- 38:06Speaker 11: Gonna say i think those are going for a couple hundred.
- 38:10Speaker 7: I honestly like i would rather you be having an
- 38:12Speaker 7: affair like i truly can't.
- 38:20Speaker 22: You are literally selling my prized possessions.
- 38:25Speaker 16: You would rather me be sleeping with somebody else than
- 38:27Speaker 16: selling Beanie Babies. I want you to think about that, Hannah.
- 38:30Speaker 16: I want you to think about that really hard. You
- 38:32Speaker 16: would rather me cheat on you than sell Beanie Babies.
- 38:36Speaker 3: That's what she said.
- 38:37Speaker 22: You literally just.
- 38:38Speaker 7: Broke my trust.
- 38:40Speaker 22: That is wild.
- 38:42Speaker 7: You cannot just sell things that are mine. And specifically,
- 38:46Speaker 7: those are so valuable to me.
- 38:48Speaker 16: They're sitting in a box in the garage.
- 38:50Speaker 22: They're collecting dust.
- 38:52Speaker 16: When was the last time that you even went out
- 38:54Speaker 16: there and looked at them?
- 38:55Speaker 7: Caleb, my mom is dead, okay? She gave me that
- 38:59Speaker 7: box of Beanie Babies, okay? I don't want to hear it.
- 39:02Speaker 16: I'm pretty positive that your mom would honestly sell those
- 39:05Speaker 16: Beanie Babies.
- 39:06Speaker 3: You know, I just looked up the Princess Diana Beanie Baby.
- 39:12Speaker 3: How much did you sell it for?
- 39:13Speaker 4: I don't know, like $ 500, something like that.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Okay, okay. Hold on, hold on, hold on. Listen to me.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Listen to me. It says most common Princess Diana Beanie
- 39:21Speaker 3: Babies are worth $ 5 to $ 20. Some can go up
- 39:24Speaker 3: to $ 200. The million-dollar myth. Viral social media posts say
- 39:29Speaker 3: that they're actually... for a million dollars for it, right?
- 39:31Speaker 3: Which is crazy. Then you go down here and you
- 39:34Speaker 3: look and there's some that are for sale for $ 25, 000,
- 39:38Speaker 3: but it doesn't mean that they're getting $ 25, 000. So if
- 39:40Speaker 3: you've got 500 bucks, I would say right now, twice
- 39:44Speaker 3: the market.
- 39:45Speaker 9: Better than five to five, 25 bucks.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I would think that with some of the beanie babies
- 39:49Speaker 3: and the air fry, you might be getting that trip.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Where are you guys going?
- 39:52Speaker 19: That's what I'm saying.
- 39:53Speaker 16: I'm trying to sit there and I'm going to go
- 39:55Speaker 16: to Aruba.
- 39:55Speaker 9: Okay.
- 39:56Speaker 16: And guess what?
- 39:56Speaker 3: That's $ 500.
- 39:56Speaker 16: That's out there and paid for it. Like the entire
- 39:59Speaker 16: flight there for both of us.
- 40:00Speaker 3: There you go.
- 40:00Speaker 10: Well, uh, Hey, he wasn't cheating Hannah.
- 40:02Speaker 19: So there you go.
- 40:02Speaker 3: She said she'd rather.
- 40:03Speaker 4: I know.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I know. She'd rather have a way to prepare her
- 40:13Speaker 3: salmon in an air fryer and have him cheat.
- 40:15Speaker 19: We haven't even used the air fryer in like months.
- 40:17Speaker 19: She didn't even know that it was gone for the.
- 40:18Speaker 16: Last three weeks. Now you're upset.
- 40:20Speaker 4: About Beanie Babies?
- 40:21Speaker 3: They're Beanie Babies.
- 40:22Speaker 17: They're freaking Beanie Babies.
- 40:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 40:25Speaker 9: You guys got to talk this out.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Anyway, I think you both are adorable. You need to
- 40:29Speaker 3: communicate more and no selling stuff. You should talk before
- 40:31Speaker 3: you sell stuff. But I also have a bunch of
- 40:33Speaker 3: Beanie Babies that I can hand to you, Caleb. I'll
- 40:36Speaker 3: give you 10% of whatever you sell.
- 40:38Speaker 16: Done and done. Let's talk to me after this. I'm
- 40:41Speaker 16: so tired.
- 40:41Speaker 3: All right, good. Hold on. We'll sidebar. We'll sidebar. I'm
- 40:43Speaker 3: going to have you sell all my stuff. I also
- 40:45Speaker 3: got two giant clamshells I need to sell. They weigh
- 40:49Speaker 3: about 300 pounds each.
- 40:50Speaker 9: Are those the ones that could be illegal?
- 40:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they are illegal. All right. Hold on. All right.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Hold on. Thanks, man. It's War of the Roses. John
- 40:57Speaker 3: Jay and Rich. Man, War of the Roses. Sarah, good morning.
- 41:08Speaker 23: Hi, good morning.
- 41:09Speaker 5: How are you guys?
- 41:10Speaker 4: Good.
- 41:10Speaker 3: You're on the air. What's up?
- 41:12Speaker 12: Hi.
- 41:12Speaker 23: Well, I was calling because I missed the end part
- 41:16Speaker 23: of the War of the Roses. But what I did
- 41:18Speaker 23: hear was Caleb talking about how he's getting basically like
- 41:23Speaker 23: good money for these Beanie Babies. And I want to
- 41:27Speaker 23: know where he's selling them because I literally have bins.
- 41:33Speaker 23: of Beanie Babies, Beanie Buddies, Teenie Beanie Babies, like, the
- 41:38Speaker 23: whole nine yards that have been sitting in my storage,
- 41:41Speaker 23: and I, like, don't want to get rid of them
- 41:43Speaker 23: because of, you know, oh, what if they're going to
- 41:46Speaker 23: be worth more one day? But they're just sitting there.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 41:51Speaker 3: I don't know where, I mean, I got the impression.
- 41:54Speaker 3: I think he did, though.
- 41:55Speaker 9: I think he said, like, eBay, Facebook Marketplace.
- 41:58Speaker 3: All those places.
- 41:59Speaker 10: Yeah, all three.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 42:02Speaker 23: Well, John Jay, I heard you telling him that you'd
- 42:04Speaker 23: give him all of yours and, like, take 10%, so
- 42:07Speaker 23: I would hop on board with that, too, if we
- 42:10Speaker 23: could do, like, a group deal.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I remember, because we had all of them, even the
- 42:13Speaker 3: Princess Diana one, and I think we still do.
- 42:15Speaker 13: Oh, I have that one.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and the rumor is that's the one that's worth
- 42:18Speaker 3: a ton, but I also don't think it's real. I
- 42:21Speaker 3: just read that it's fake hype. It's not like... Baseball cards.
- 42:24Speaker 3: You know what I found yesterday in my garage? Baseball
- 42:25Speaker 3: cards are wild. I found in my garage yesterday, I
- 42:28Speaker 3: didn't even know it existed. It was the Devin Booker Bobblehead.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Not a Bobblehead, the Funko Pop. Oh, really? And it's
- 42:35Speaker 3: still in the box, and I wonder if that's worth billions.
- 42:38Speaker 9: I'm sure it's worth billions.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Because Sun's tickets are billions.
- 42:42Speaker 23: I bet if you could get him to sign it,
- 42:44Speaker 23: which I'm sure you may have a few connections, then
- 42:47Speaker 23: you could get it to be.
- 42:48Speaker 22: Worth a little bit more, I bet.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Yeah, who knows? Sarah, thank you for listening. Thank you
- 42:52Speaker 3: for calling in. All right.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 42:54Speaker 22: I appreciate it.
- 42:55Speaker 19: Thanks.
- 42:56Speaker 23: You too.
- 42:56Speaker 22: Bye.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Erin, did somebody sell something to yours? That's what happened
- 42:59Speaker 3: on War of the Roses.
- 43:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 43:02Speaker 22: So my mom had given me a camcorder because I
- 43:06Speaker 22: was having a baby and I was too poor to
- 43:08Speaker 22: buy anything like that myself. So this was before smartphones
- 43:11Speaker 22: were popular. I still had a flip phone while I
- 43:14Speaker 22: recorded a few things like little messages to my son
- 43:16Speaker 22: I was pregnant with. And I thought I'd show him someday.
- 43:19Speaker 22: So later I was like, oh, I should record the
- 43:21Speaker 22: baby and found out it was sold. I was really
- 43:23Speaker 22: upset at the time. But now, honestly, I forgot about
- 43:26Speaker 22: it until I got asked this question.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Wait a minute. Somebody sold the flip phone with the video?
- 43:33Speaker 22: No, not the flip phone, the camcorder. I just said
- 43:35Speaker 22: that I.
- 43:36Speaker 16: Only had a flip phone.
- 43:38Speaker 3: So they sold the camcorder and on the camcorder was
- 43:40Speaker 3: the tape with the video of your son.
- 43:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:43Speaker 4: That's sad.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Tragic, actually. Don't you think? Never going to get that back.
- 43:48Speaker 10: I'm shocked that you say that, Richard. You throw pictures
- 43:50Speaker 10: of your kids away.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Well, I know what they look like. It's fine.
- 43:52Speaker 9: I almost wonder if you could track down who bought
- 43:55Speaker 9: it because unless probably by now they taped over it.
- 43:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 22: Oh, yeah, and, like, camcorders aren't really a thing anymore.
- 44:03Speaker 3: What if your son becomes a very, very famous actor
- 44:05Speaker 3: or president of the United States and somebody has that
- 44:07Speaker 3: tape and they can be like, I had the tape
- 44:09Speaker 3: when he was just a little kid?
- 44:10Speaker 8: That's what you got to do. To get the camera back,
- 44:12Speaker 8: you need to make your kid the president.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Anyway, what else were you going to say?
- 44:18Speaker 22: I had another interesting one, though. This one's a little
- 44:20Speaker 22: more interesting.
- 44:22Speaker 15: So this.
- 44:25Speaker 24: Sorry.
- 44:26Speaker 22: It cracks me up still whenever I think about it,
- 44:28Speaker 22: especially because this lady was a hoot. But I worked
- 44:30Speaker 22: out at Denny's with this feisty older lady. So one
- 44:33Speaker 22: day she pulls up in this brand new looking Camaro.
- 44:36Speaker 22: And honestly, I thought she was borrowing it or something.
- 44:39Speaker 22: I'm like, dang, well, it's, you know, a bunch of
- 44:40Speaker 22: sports car. And she said, no, I stole that car.
- 44:43Speaker 22: And I laughed and I'm like, no, seriously. Or she said, no, seriously,
- 44:48Speaker 22: I basically stole that car. And I'm like, what are
- 44:50Speaker 22: you talking about? Especially because she's a feisty old lady.
- 44:53Speaker 22: I honestly wouldn't be surprised if She pulled some grand
- 44:56Speaker 22: theft auto or something. So she tells me that this
- 45:00Speaker 22: dude had just went to prison and left his girl
- 45:04Speaker 22: in charge of all his stuff, and she knew the
- 45:06Speaker 22: girl would basically fold on him while he was away.
- 45:08Speaker 22: So she asked for the car, and the girl said, sure, $ 30, 000.
- 45:12Speaker 22: And so my friend Lois was like, what a dumb broad,
- 45:15Speaker 22: but I'm not going to argue with that price. So
- 45:17Speaker 22: the girl, she went to the MVD, got a power
- 45:20Speaker 22: of attorney form for that vehicle, and she told the
- 45:22Speaker 22: guy she just needed it to renew the tags. And
- 45:25Speaker 22: once she got it back from the guy in prison,
- 45:30Speaker 22: my coworker Lois, she went and got the 3000 and
- 45:33Speaker 22: had herself a brand new Camaro. And this thing was
- 45:37Speaker 22: only like a couple years old, less than 40,000 miles
- 45:41Speaker 22: on it.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Let's go. Bye. And then he got out of prison
- 45:44Speaker 3: and killed Lois. I was going to say. I'm going
- 45:47Speaker 3: to need that brag back.
- 45:48Speaker 22: I was like, Lois, be careful. What if somebody comes
- 45:50Speaker 22: after you or something?
- 45:51Speaker 3: She was like, they got to catch me first.
- 45:52Speaker 9: I would be nervous about the retaliation.
- 45:54Speaker 10: On that one.
- 45:56Speaker 3: Thanks, Erin.
- 45:56Speaker 24: Yeah, exactly.
- 45:57Speaker 22: But it fit her well. She was a crazy old woman.
- 45:59Speaker 22: But yeah, thanks, guys.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Joanna, good morning. What did someone sell of yours behind
- 46:04Speaker 3: your back?
- 46:05Speaker 25: Good morning. My brother actually sold my Xbox.
- 46:09Speaker 3: What a jerk.
- 46:10Speaker 25: I went down to my room and got my Xbox.
- 46:13Speaker 25: And I had like left it at my parents' house.
- 46:15Speaker 25: And for some reason he was there visiting. And yeah,
- 46:17Speaker 25: he just went down to my old room and grabbed
- 46:19Speaker 25: my Xbox and sold it because he said he needed
- 46:21Speaker 25: money for his car.
- 46:22Speaker 10: How rude.
- 46:25Speaker 3: I know.
- 46:25Speaker 10: How long did it take you until you found out
- 46:27Speaker 10: he sold your Xbox?
- 46:29Speaker 25: Well, the guy at the pawn shop was one of
- 46:32Speaker 25: my friends. He was like, hey, your brother's here.
- 46:35Speaker 19: He's like, is this your Xbox?
- 46:36Speaker 25: Because you were just talking about the Xbox that you.
- 46:38Speaker 19: Got because I was playing games.
- 46:40Speaker 25: And I was like, are you shitting me? And he
- 46:41Speaker 25: was like, no, I think this is yours. So he
- 46:44Speaker 25: told my brother that. He's like, hey, I can't tell
- 46:46Speaker 25: it to you yet. Give me a few minutes. I
- 46:47Speaker 25: might have somebody else buy it outright. And I showed
- 46:50Speaker 25: up at the pawn shop to get my Xbox.
- 46:54Speaker 3: And you got it?
- 46:55Speaker 5: I did, yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Way to go.
- 46:56Speaker 7: I was mad, but I got my Xbox back.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Way to go, Joanna. Hey, thank you for listening. Thanks
- 47:01Speaker 3: for calling in. Thanks.
- 47:03Speaker 19: Bye, guys.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Bye-bye. We're going to play Minute to Win It. We
- 47:06Speaker 3: need a contestant. So call us at 877-937-1047. I don't
- 47:09Speaker 3: know if we're going to get the same person from
- 47:12Speaker 3: yesterday or we do a separate one because there's a
- 47:14Speaker 3: whole controversy. We'll get into that later. But today's a
- 47:17Speaker 3: very special day. What month is it? What month is it?
- 47:19Speaker 3: What month is it?
- 47:20Speaker 9: It's October.
- 47:21Speaker 11: Wait, what?
- 47:22Speaker 9: It's October.
- 47:23Speaker 23: Wait, wait, wait.
- 47:23Speaker 9: What do you mean? It's October. It's almost Halloween.
- 47:26Speaker 19: No, it's not.
- 47:27Speaker 3: No, it's not. I'll tell you what time it is.
- 47:29Speaker 3: It's showtime, baby.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Showtime, baby.
- 47:31Speaker 23: Showtime, baby.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Why don't we head back to the radio room?
- 47:34Speaker 8: Radio room.
- 47:34Speaker 3: You guys are going to love this. Can I say
- 47:36Speaker 3: the name of the show?
- 47:37Speaker 4: John Jay and Rich.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Hold that microphone up your face. I got a couple
- 47:44Speaker 3: things to look forward to in October, you guys. Let's go.
- 47:48Speaker 3: On TV, the new Carrie miniseries hits prime video on
- 47:51Speaker 3: the 7th. Ooh, I'm in. Peyton's season 6 of Abbott
- 47:55Speaker 3: Elementary premieres on the 7th.
- 47:57Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Marvel's latest spinoff, Vision Quest, will be on Disney Plus
- 48:00Speaker 3: on the 14th. Season 23 of Grey's Anatomy premieres on
- 48:04Speaker 3: the 15th. And if you know someone who's into NCIS...
- 48:09Speaker 3: Tell them to clear their calendars because October 6th, because
- 48:11Speaker 3: CBS is doing a triple-headed premiere, it kicks off with
- 48:14Speaker 3: season 24 of the original NCIS starring Mark Harmon. Mark Harmon.
- 48:19Speaker 3: And followed by NCIS New York starring LL Cool J
- 48:22Speaker 3: and wraps up with season three of NCIS Origins. In
- 48:26Speaker 3: theaters tomorrow, Tom Cruise Digger, the Social Network sequel, The
- 48:32Speaker 3: Other Mommy. And the Street Fighter movie comes out. The
- 48:35Speaker 3: Social Network sequel. Yeah, you know they made that? Was
- 48:38Speaker 3: it about TikTok? No, remember the Social Network with Facebook? Yeah, no,
- 48:42Speaker 3: I know the movie, but why do we need a sequel?
- 48:44Speaker 3: Because everything's happened since then. I guess so. It was
- 48:46Speaker 3: all about how it started. It was the first one.
- 48:47Speaker 3: The second one was all the chaos and the court stuff.
- 48:50Speaker 10: Parody comes out this weekend, too.
- 48:52Speaker 3: And you know who plays Mark Zuckerberg?
- 48:54Speaker 11: Who?
- 48:54Speaker 3: The dude from Succession. The son, the one that would
- 48:58Speaker 3: ride the motorcycle and have the, I forget his name,
- 49:01Speaker 3: the character. Jeremy something. He was not Macaulay Culkin. And
- 49:06Speaker 3: then there was a girl. It was the other one.
- 49:08Speaker 3: It was the brother, the older brother.
- 49:09Speaker 9: Yeah, is it Strong, Jeremy Strong?
- 49:10Speaker 3: That guy, Jeremy Strong. No, he can play anything. Yeah,
- 49:13Speaker 3: he plays that guy.
- 49:14Speaker 9: He plays Wes Zuckerberg? Why wouldn't they pick the other
- 49:16Speaker 9: guy that played him? He was so good.
- 49:17Speaker 3: I don't know. Jesse Eisenberg? Yeah. And also, this is
- 49:20Speaker 3: a big day. On October 23rd, it's National Slap Your
- 49:24Speaker 3: Coworker Day.
- 49:25Speaker 9: Let's bring back the tortilla challenge.
- 49:27Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do that. Hold on. Tanya's got a thing
- 49:29Speaker 3: she sold. Tanya, someone sold something behind your back?
- 49:33Speaker 15: He didn't sell it. He threw it away, which is
- 49:35Speaker 15: even worse. I used to have a jet ski. And
- 49:40Speaker 15: I had a bunch of old equipment beside the house
- 49:42Speaker 15: that went with it. And I had a friend who
- 49:44Speaker 15: was going kayaking and said they wish they had an
- 49:47Speaker 15: anchor to do some fishing. I'm like, oh, I've got
- 49:49Speaker 15: an anchor for my jet ski.
- 49:50Speaker 22: And I went to go find it.
- 49:52Speaker 15: And I couldn't find it. So I went to my
- 49:54Speaker 15: husband at the time and said, hey, did you move
- 49:57Speaker 15: that anchor that was beside the house? He goes, oh,
- 49:59Speaker 15: I threw it away.
- 49:59Speaker 3: I said, why?
- 50:01Speaker 15: And he goes, it's been sitting out in the rain
- 50:03Speaker 15: for forever.
- 50:04Speaker 3: He threw away the anchor or the jet ski? He
- 50:07Speaker 3: threw away the anchor?
- 50:08Speaker 21: He threw away the anchor.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Oh, man. Anchor's away.
- 50:11Speaker 15: I didn't have the jet ski anymore, but he threw
- 50:13Speaker 15: away the anchor because it was sitting out in the rain.
- 50:15Speaker 20: For so long.
- 50:16Speaker 3: It's a metaphor for your entire relationship. The anchor. I
- 50:19Speaker 3: can't believe he threw away the anchor.
- 50:21Speaker 15: Yes.
- 50:22Speaker 3: All right. Thank you, son.
- 50:26Speaker 15: I couldn't understand his excuse because it was in the water.
- 50:29Speaker 15: It was getting wet.
- 50:30Speaker 3: All right. Thank you, Tonya.
- 50:32Speaker 9: You're having such a hard time with her name.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Tonya. I thought it was Tonya. We got Lori. Lori's
- 50:37Speaker 3: going to play a minute to win it. Lori, hi.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Good morning. Good morning. What are you doing right now?
- 50:42Speaker 4: I am ready.
- 50:43Speaker 3: You're ready? Where are you?
- 50:44Speaker 14: I'm driving.
- 50:45Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. What part of town?
- 50:47Speaker 19: I'm on Grand.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Oh, Grand. All right, let's go. I can tell you
- 50:52Speaker 3: sound smart. You're going to do well on this. Let's go.
- 50:54Speaker 7: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000 cash for you from
- 50:57Speaker 7: Peoria Ford right now.
- 50:58Speaker 3: Minute to win it. Okay, Lori, 60 seconds on the clock.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Get them all right. No skips. You win $ 1, 000. Let's go.
- 51:05Speaker 3: What do you call a baby goat?
- 51:10Speaker 4: A kid.
- 51:12Speaker 8: Who played Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean?
- 51:16Speaker 16: Johnny Depp.
- 51:17Speaker 8: What Pixar movie is about a robot left behind to
- 51:20Speaker 8: clean up Earth?
- 51:23Speaker 16: Oh, God.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Oh, number five, something like that.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 51:29Speaker 12: Oh.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Is that your final answer?
- 51:31Speaker 13: Oh, my.
- 51:32Speaker 16: Yes, number five.
- 51:36Speaker 11: Oh.
- 51:36Speaker 9: It's WALL-E.
- 51:38Speaker 7: WALL-E.
- 51:39Speaker 4: WALL-E.
- 51:40Speaker 8: Dang it.
- 51:41Speaker 21: I can picture him in everything.
- 51:43Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 3: It's a bummer.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Oh, it's okay.
- 51:47Speaker 3: You don't go home empty handed. We're going to set
- 51:50Speaker 3: you up with Del Taco gift card.
- 51:53Speaker 12: Nice.
- 51:54Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 51:54Speaker 4: Love it.
- 51:55Speaker 3: Drive safe. Thanks for playing.
- 51:56Speaker 4: Thanks for listening.
- 51:59Speaker 3: So early this morning, stacks and hacks. We're talking about
- 52:01Speaker 3: the guy that got a speeding ticket because he was
- 52:03Speaker 3: rushing to get breakfast at McDonald's. Then I told a
- 52:07Speaker 3: story about when my wife and I were trying to
- 52:09Speaker 3: have a baby going through infertility. I had given a sample,
- 52:15Speaker 3: and I got pulled over, and the cop was like,
- 52:17Speaker 3: why are you speeding? And I said, well, we're trying
- 52:19Speaker 3: to have a baby. This is my sperm sample. And
- 52:21Speaker 3: he was like, I've been a cop for 20 years.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Never heard that excuse. I bet not. See you later.
- 52:26Speaker 3: So we wanted to get into, in fact, people started
- 52:28Speaker 3: calling in with, like, how'd you get out of a
- 52:31Speaker 3: speeding ticket?
- 52:32Speaker 9: 877-937-1047.
- 52:34Speaker 3: So they give us the excuse, and we guess if
- 52:35Speaker 3: they got a ticket or got out of a ticket.
- 52:42Speaker 3: So that's a good idea.
- 52:43Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 52:43Speaker 8: So let's see if they, because we will be the
- 52:45Speaker 8: cops and like, is that a good enough excuse to get,
- 52:48Speaker 8: to let you, let you go? Or am I still
- 52:50Speaker 8: going to write you a ticket?
- 52:51Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 52:51Speaker 3: So you call it. So like, so I, if I
- 52:53Speaker 3: was calling, I would tell you the story of the
- 52:54Speaker 3: sperm sample. We will probably all go. You got to
- 52:57Speaker 3: let you go. Definitely. Yeah. Let me go.
- 52:59Speaker 8: I might've given you a police escort with that sample
- 53:02Speaker 8: lights on. Let's get you there, kid.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Also, by the way, hold on. I forgot that I
- 53:07Speaker 3: brought up something earlier about this. This is all over
- 53:11Speaker 3: the news. yesterday all over social media, but do you
- 53:13Speaker 3: guys see Ted, the animated series is coming out?
- 53:16Speaker 23: No.
- 53:17Speaker 3: Oh my God. Okay, so it's Ted. It doesn't seem appropriate.
- 53:20Speaker 3: They did, well, Family Guy. Think about Family Guy.
- 53:22Speaker 7: I know, no, I know.
- 53:23Speaker 3: So think about, there was Ted with the CGI Ted,
- 53:26Speaker 3: which is freaking fantastic show. And probably expensive to make.
- 53:29Speaker 3: It was costing them $ 10 million an episode to make,
- 53:32Speaker 3: so they couldn't do it anymore. So what they've done now,
- 53:34Speaker 3: He's got Ted the Animated Series, and what's different about
- 53:37Speaker 3: it is, well, here, listen first.
- 53:38Speaker 9: Hey, Ted, we're animated.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Ah, that means we can do anything now. No consequences.
- 53:42Speaker 3: I'm going to do a backflip.
- 53:45Speaker 4: Ah!
- 53:45Speaker 3: It hurts like real life.
- 53:47Speaker 8: Be sure to watch Ted the Animated Series on Peacock,
- 53:50Speaker 8: streaming December 17th.
- 53:52Speaker 9: Why would the animators do this to me?
- 53:54Speaker 4: Ah!
- 53:55Speaker 3: An anvil? Ah, they're having fun. This is going to
- 53:58Speaker 3: be fun. And guess what? It's Mark Wahlberg. That was
- 54:00Speaker 3: Mark Wahlberg. That wasn't the guy that plays that. Really?
- 54:02Speaker 3: It's Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane. They're doing all the voices.
- 54:05Speaker 3: They're doing all the voices. Anyway. Okay. Christina, good morning.
- 54:10Speaker 25: Good morning.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Okay. So you tell us what happened. And we're going
- 54:14Speaker 3: to guess if you got out of the ticket. You
- 54:15Speaker 3: got pulled over for speeding. What happened? And then tell
- 54:17Speaker 3: us the excuse you gave.
- 54:19Speaker 14: Okay.
- 54:19Speaker 25: I have two. The first one, I was maybe like
- 54:22Speaker 25: 22 years old. And I was going about 55 in
- 54:26Speaker 25: a 40. And Coppelmuller, I immediately started crying. For one,
- 54:30Speaker 25: I'm scared because it's my brother's car. But I started crying,
- 54:33Speaker 25: and he was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what's going on?
- 54:36Speaker 25: I said, I'm in a rush. My sister's in the
- 54:38Speaker 25: hospital having a baby. I'm scared, and I'm lost. And
- 54:41Speaker 25: he fell for it, and he guided me to Glendale.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you didn't let us guess. Yeah, we were
- 54:45Speaker 3: going to guess. Okay, so wait, wait. So you lied
- 54:49Speaker 3: to the cop.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I did.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Oh, interesting. Wow. And he still let you go. I
- 54:53Speaker 3: didn't even think of that.
- 54:54Speaker 19: He let me go.
- 54:55Speaker 3: I would never let him come. Yeah. Okay, what's your
- 54:58Speaker 3: other one? And don't tell us the result. You got
- 55:00Speaker 3: pulled over. Okay.
- 55:01Speaker 25: The other one, I was in my brother's car again.
- 55:04Speaker 25: I was legit going 55 in a 30 on the
- 55:06Speaker 25: way to work. And actually, I don't remember how it happened,
- 55:12Speaker 25: but three cops pulled me over. And he's like, whose
- 55:17Speaker 25: car is this?
- 55:18Speaker 19: Where are you going?
- 55:18Speaker 9: And I'm like.
- 55:20Speaker 25: Again, I was like 21, and I don't remember how
- 55:23Speaker 25: I got out of it, so I apologize.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Okay, that's not a good story.
- 55:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and you.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Said you got out of it. I don't think you
- 55:28Speaker 3: understand this game. I would write for a student ticket
- 55:31Speaker 3: right now. Melissa, Melissa, tell us you got pulled over.
- 55:35Speaker 3: Tell us the excuse, and we're going to guess if
- 55:37Speaker 3: you got out of it or not, okay?
- 55:40Speaker 15: Okay.
- 55:40Speaker 3: All right, what happened?
- 55:41Speaker 14: Is it me, Melissa?
- 55:42Speaker 19: Okay, ready?
- 55:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:44Speaker 14: Okay, so I was driving... My car was broken.
- 55:48Speaker 13: So I was driving my ex-husband's car. I was approaching
- 55:53Speaker 13: a yellow light, thought I could make it, but it
- 55:55Speaker 13: very much turned red. And I look over, and there's
- 55:58Speaker 13: a cop there. My ex-husband did.
- 56:01Speaker 14: Not have tags on his car, and his tags were expired.
- 56:06Speaker 14: But for Father's Day, the kids and I had gone through,
- 56:09Speaker 14: and I had proof that, like, I went through emissions
- 56:12Speaker 14: for him and that he passed. He just needed to, like,
- 56:15Speaker 14: get the tags.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Oh, my God. I was moving the phone, and I
- 56:19Speaker 3: literally disconnected her. Way to go, Barry. I was moving
- 56:23Speaker 3: the phone. I was moving the phone. My phone was
- 56:25Speaker 3: in the way.
- 56:25Speaker 18: Melissa, call back.
- 56:26Speaker 3: I am so sorry.
- 56:28Speaker 8: So do we think she got a ticket?
- 56:30Speaker 3: I think she got a ticket.
- 56:32Speaker 9: We didn't hear the excuse.
- 56:33Speaker 3: I hit a button here I've never even hit before,
- 56:35Speaker 3: but it went to Stephanie automatically. Don't hit that one again, though. Stephanie.
- 56:40Speaker 18: Hey, good morning.
- 56:41Speaker 22: Hi.
- 56:41Speaker 3: So you tell us the story, and then we're going
- 56:43Speaker 3: to guess whether you got out of.
- 56:44Speaker 11: It or not.
- 56:46Speaker 1: Okay, so I was speeding through my neighborhood. I was
- 56:49Speaker 1: definitely going 60 on a 35. I went to pick
- 56:53Speaker 1: up one of my daughters from school, and I got
- 56:56Speaker 1: pulled over.
- 56:56Speaker 18: Oh, my gosh, I got pulled over, and I always.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Be during this area. I got pulled over, and the
- 57:04Speaker 1: cop asked me why I was speeding, and I said
- 57:06Speaker 1: I had to go.
- 57:06Speaker 18: Pick up my daughter.
- 57:07Speaker 1: My other daughter had surgery this morning. So I guess
- 57:11Speaker 1: that's all I can tell you. He took my employees, like,
- 57:13Speaker 1: you know, I could take you, like, I'd rest you
- 57:14Speaker 1: right now because you're going 60.
- 57:15Speaker 7: And I was like, I know, I'm so sorry.
- 57:16Speaker 3: I'm going to guess he let you go. I think
- 57:18Speaker 3: he let you go because he's probably a dad and
- 57:20Speaker 3: he knows what it's like. Is the story true that
- 57:22Speaker 3: the other daughter had surgery?
- 57:24Speaker 6: Yes, but she had, like, dental surgery.
- 57:27Speaker 23: Like, it wasn't doing anything crazy.
- 57:28Speaker 7: So I felt bad.
- 57:30Speaker 3: Did he let you go? Did he let you go?
- 57:32Speaker 21: He did, yeah.
- 57:34Speaker 1: I got so bad afterwards that I was like, you
- 57:36Speaker 1: know what? I wasn't lying. Technically, I know the other...
- 57:38Speaker 1: person who I took off. I didn't technically, but.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 57:42Speaker 8: It seems like there's a theme if they let you go,
- 57:44Speaker 8: if you ramble on a little bit.
- 57:47Speaker 3: They want to let you go. And I'm going to
- 57:48Speaker 3: try to eliminate that, this part. Okay, so Rob, you
- 57:51Speaker 3: got pulled over. Don't need to know why you got
- 57:52Speaker 3: pulled over. You got pulled over. What was your excuse?
- 57:56Speaker 2: Okay, well, this was actually a camera speeding ticket. They
- 58:01Speaker 2: sent me a picture of me in the car saying
- 58:04Speaker 2: I was speeding on this camera. But And they're like,
- 58:07Speaker 2: you can either fight this or just pay the ticket.
- 58:10Speaker 21: So I went to fight it. And the way that
- 58:11Speaker 21: I fought it is in.
- 58:12Speaker 2: The picture in the camera.
- 58:14Speaker 21: I was picking my nose. So my face was covered
- 58:17Speaker 21: with my hand. And I said, well, no, there's no
- 58:20Speaker 21: way you can tell this is me. The person in
- 58:21Speaker 21: this is picking their nose and covering their face with.
- 58:24Speaker 21: with their hands. So I went to court and fought it,
- 58:26Speaker 21: and you guys can guess if I won or not.
- 58:28Speaker 3: This is good. This is good. I think you got
- 58:30Speaker 3: out of it because your face was covered. Me too.
- 58:32Speaker 3: I feel like an expert in the camera ticket thing.
- 58:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:34Speaker 3: But what do you think?
- 58:35Speaker 9: I did.
- 58:36Speaker 3: I got out of it.
- 58:36Speaker 21: I went, I fought it, and they're like, nope, we
- 58:38Speaker 21: can't tell who it is because your face is covered.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Whoever was picking their nose in this picture, I can't
- 58:43Speaker 2: tell if it's you or not.
- 58:44Speaker 16: Hold on a line.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Hold on a line. That was a good one.
- 58:46Speaker 8: So if you're going to run a yellow light, get
- 58:48Speaker 8: your finger in that nose.
- 58:48Speaker 3: That was great. That was great. That was awesome. We
- 58:52Speaker 3: are going to get into, by the way, get ready
- 58:53Speaker 3: for this. How did you cheat death? And there's a
- 58:55Speaker 3: reason why. There's a huge story in the news. Why
- 58:57Speaker 3: did you and how did you cheat death? We'll get
- 58:59Speaker 3: to that next. John Jay and Rich. Get up, get up.
- 59:02Speaker 7: From the car to the office.
- 59:04Speaker 6: Wake up with them every morning.
- 59:06Speaker 7: John Jay and Rich.
- 59:07Speaker 3: All right. We want to get into.
- 59:08Speaker 22: Whoa.
- 59:08Speaker 3: We want to get into why you. All right, we
- 59:12Speaker 3: want to get into why you cheated death.
- 59:14Speaker 4: 877-937-1047.
- 59:14Speaker 3: How you cheated death. Because there's this crazy story. I'm
- 59:16Speaker 3: just reading the whole story right now about why she
- 59:19Speaker 3: was on death row.
- 59:19Speaker 8: Yeah, Christina Pike, who is, I guess, the first female
- 59:23Speaker 8: to get the death penalty or actually be executed in
- 59:27Speaker 8: 200 years in Tennessee. So they do it by injection there,
- 59:30Speaker 8: and they did two injections.
- 59:31Speaker 3: It didn't work. She's still alive in the hospital. And
- 59:34Speaker 3: they said if they give you an injection and you
- 59:36Speaker 3: don't die, the law says they have to give you
- 59:39Speaker 3: a second one.
- 59:40Speaker 8: But they don't have the law. What happens if the
- 59:42Speaker 8: second one doesn't take? I imagine now lawsuits forever.
- 59:45Speaker 3: And they said what I was just reading right now
- 59:47Speaker 3: is that they gave her the second injection, and then
- 59:48Speaker 3: it was like two hours later, and they could hear
- 59:50Speaker 3: her snoring in the other room.
- 59:51Speaker 11: Yeah, she was like, just wait.
- 59:53Speaker 3: So she so far has cheated death. We want to
- 59:56Speaker 3: know how you cheated death, Mel.
- 1:00:00Speaker 24: Hi, guys. Good morning.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Good morning. How did you cheat death?
- 1:00:04Speaker 24: Okay, so mine is, I guess I cheated death. So
- 1:00:07Speaker 24: when I was 14 years old, I'm 36 now. When
- 1:00:10Speaker 24: I was 14, me and my cousin were hanging out.
- 1:00:12Speaker 14: We're two older boys.
- 1:00:13Speaker 22: Probably shouldn't have been.
- 1:00:14Speaker 24: And we went swimming at an abandoned house. So we're
- 1:00:18Speaker 24: swimming in the pool, hanging out, having a good time.
- 1:00:21Speaker 24: And all of a sudden, I'm pulled by my hair
- 1:00:23Speaker 24: up out of the pool, and there's a gun to
- 1:00:25Speaker 24: my head. Um, and I see the boys are being
- 1:00:28Speaker 24: like taken away. Me and my cousin were in our
- 1:00:29Speaker 24: bikinis and, you know, we're being taken away. So they,
- 1:00:31Speaker 24: they break down the door, put us into this house. Um,
- 1:00:35Speaker 24: you know, keep telling us, don't look at us, don't
- 1:00:36Speaker 24: look at us, whatever. So they have the answer ahead. Um, finally,
- 1:00:39Speaker 24: I don't know how much time passed, but they had
- 1:00:41Speaker 24: let us upstairs. Um, and they were trying to pull
- 1:00:43Speaker 24: off our jewelry the whole time, like while we were
- 1:00:44Speaker 24: going upstairs and the, um, there's four guys in the
- 1:00:47Speaker 24: room with us. They duct taped me and my cousin
- 1:00:49Speaker 24: tied us up. Um, and we like, we were begging,
- 1:00:53Speaker 24: you know, pleading, like, please don't hurt us. And, you know, whatever,
- 1:00:55Speaker 24: but we can hear the boys like screaming in the
- 1:00:57Speaker 24: other rooms and like things being knocked around. Um, and then,
- 1:01:01Speaker 24: so we tried to like make family conversation. Well, eventually
- 1:01:04Speaker 24: these guys like almost like trusted us and, um, they
- 1:01:08Speaker 24: gave us like nicknames, like they called me precious and
- 1:01:10Speaker 24: like her beautiful and whatever. But anyway, so, um, they
- 1:01:12Speaker 24: were about to leave again. This was like probably four
- 1:01:14Speaker 24: hours of this happening. Um, and they had left us
- 1:01:17Speaker 24: a few times, but they're like, okay, we're going to leave.
- 1:01:19Speaker 24: But if you get up, we're going to shoot you.
- 1:01:21Speaker 24: And we're like, okay, so we're crying and and we hear, like,
- 1:01:24Speaker 24: the cars speed off. They stole both of our cars
- 1:01:26Speaker 24: that we had. So we get up, and my cousin, like,
- 1:01:29Speaker 24: I'm begging her, don't get up, don't get up, because
- 1:01:31Speaker 24: I think the guys are still in the house.
- 1:01:32Speaker 15: So she gets up.
- 1:01:33Speaker 7: We cut our tape off with, like, a broken, like,
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: electrical cord cover. So we're running through the house trying
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: to find the guys. There's blood everywhere.
- 1:01:41Speaker 24: We find one of the guys in the bathroom where
- 1:01:43Speaker 24: there's literally blood covering the walls, the toilet, everything, and
- 1:01:47Speaker 24: she runs down to find the guy that she was with,
- 1:01:50Speaker 24: We could not find him anywhere, and we hear moaning.
- 1:01:52Speaker 24: They put him underneath the carpet, like, under the foam,
- 1:01:56Speaker 24: under everything. He had a phone charger tied around his
- 1:01:59Speaker 24: neck with his shirt. He was soaked in blood, like,
- 1:02:02Speaker 24: literally almost, like, close to death. We didn't have our
- 1:02:04Speaker 24: cell phones. They stole our cell phones, our purses, everything.
- 1:02:06Speaker 24: So we, like, went to the backyard of this house,
- 1:02:09Speaker 24: hopped the fence, ran through neighborhoods until we found one that, like,
- 1:02:12Speaker 24: looked okay because this was in, like, Lower Buckeye. We
- 1:02:15Speaker 24: knocked on doors. We were banging on doors, help us,
- 1:02:17Speaker 24: help us. And then by the fourth door we got to,
- 1:02:20Speaker 24: the first guy had opened his garage. We didn't even
- 1:02:22Speaker 24: say anything. We ran into his garage screaming. All four
- 1:02:24Speaker 24: of us, bloody broken, ran into the garage.
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: And called 911.
- 1:02:29Speaker 24: The cops came and took our statements. And then we
- 1:02:31Speaker 24: went home with our parents. I had severe PTSD from
- 1:02:34Speaker 24: it for a long time.
- 1:02:35Speaker 14: And then that was it.
- 1:02:37Speaker 24: They never caught the guys. They saw someone using a
- 1:02:40Speaker 24: credit card one time but never caught them.
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:02:44Speaker 9: My goodness.
- 1:02:45Speaker 24: Scary stuff.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: If it was a movie? The fourth house we go
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: into is actually the guys that did it.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: And they go, welcome.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: Oh, guys, that would be the worst, right?
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: They're back. Good Lord. Wow, Mel, that is the craziest story.
- 1:02:57Speaker 10: That is bizarre.
- 1:02:58Speaker 22: Yeah, it was very.
- 1:02:59Speaker 14: Very scary.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: You never crashed a backyard again, I bet.
- 1:03:03Speaker 14: No, we never did.
- 1:03:04Speaker 24: I actually probably never broke the law after that or
- 1:03:07Speaker 24: did anything sketchy. So, yeah.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Holy smokes.
- 1:03:10Speaker 9: Okay, Mel.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Hold on the line, Mel. That's a crazy story. How
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: did you cheat death? Let us know.
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: 877-937-1047.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: We'll get more calls after Team Impala. Big story in
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: the news of this woman who cheated death. She's on
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: death row. They gave her the lethal injection twice and
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: she's still alive. So we just kind of thought we'd
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: do a quick round of how did you cheat death?
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: We just talked to Mel. Her story was insane. Tanisha,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: I hear you have a crazy story too.
- 1:03:40Speaker 19: Yeah, it doesn't top, Mel. That was crazy. But yeah,
- 1:03:44Speaker 19: so when I was about eight years old, I went
- 1:03:47Speaker 19: to Six Flags with some family friends. And I had
- 1:03:51Speaker 19: gotten on a roller coaster. And because I was so little,
- 1:03:55Speaker 19: they put me in between a couple, an older couple.
- 1:03:59Speaker 19: And it was like one of those roller coasters where
- 1:04:01Speaker 19: the latch comes over your head. And so they pulled
- 1:04:05Speaker 19: it down and it didn't lock properly. But at this
- 1:04:08Speaker 19: point in time, the guy thought it had locked, and
- 1:04:10Speaker 19: he went around, and then they were trying to flag
- 1:04:13Speaker 19: the guy down, like, hey, her thing didn't lock, her
- 1:04:15Speaker 19: thing didn't lock. And it was, like, just too late,
- 1:04:18Speaker 19: and the roller coaster took off. And you just see
- 1:04:20Speaker 19: this couple kind of, like, intertwine their arms around my
- 1:04:24Speaker 19: latch over top. And the roller coaster just takes off.
- 1:04:28Speaker 19: So the entire time they're like holding on to the
- 1:04:31Speaker 19: straps over my chest and I'm holding on to theirs
- 1:04:34Speaker 19: and just like praying for dear life the entire time.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: Of the roller coaster.
- 1:04:38Speaker 19: And I'm just like, oh my God, just please let
- 1:04:40Speaker 19: me get through this.
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: I promise to God that I'm going to be.
- 1:04:42Speaker 19: A straight A student. Everything I just get me through,
- 1:04:45Speaker 19: get me through it. I'm praying, I'm crying. And by
- 1:04:48Speaker 19: the time the roller coaster is off, like the guy,
- 1:04:50Speaker 19: the family's like telling them like, hey, you guys, you
- 1:04:53Speaker 19: guys need to do a better check on these things.
- 1:04:54Speaker 19: Her thing wasn't locked. And they're like, So right after that, like,
- 1:04:59Speaker 19: they literally had to close the roller coaster down because
- 1:05:01Speaker 19: my thing was not locking.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I wonder if it's that roller coaster that's in the news.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Do you see that one? They closed one down.
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: No, it's shut down.
- 1:05:07Speaker 22: They're not.
- 1:05:08Speaker 10: Yeah, it's no longer around.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: But they shut it down recently. So I wonder if
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: it was the one Tanisha was on.
- 1:05:15Speaker 19: The same way. I don't even remember. It was so
- 1:05:16Speaker 19: long ago. So I don't remember exactly the name of it.
- 1:05:19Speaker 19: But I was like, oh, my God. So after that
- 1:05:21Speaker 19: and then Final Destination came out with that roller coaster movie.
- 1:05:24Speaker 19: And I was like, oh, my God, that's so could
- 1:05:25Speaker 19: have been me. So I've just been waiting, like, okay,
- 1:05:28Speaker 19: am I seeing any signs out there?
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Question, did you become a straight-A student?
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: All right, because you can't bargain and then don't come
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: up with it.
- 1:05:38Speaker 19: Oh, no, definitely straight-A student.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: Thanks, Anisha. Thanks for calling in.
- 1:05:43Speaker 19: Thank you.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Judith. Judith?
- 1:05:47Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: How did you cheat death?
- 1:05:50Speaker 15: Hi. Hi, John.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Hi, everybody.
- 1:05:52Speaker 20: I was working at a respiratory therapist at office. I
- 1:05:57Speaker 20: was all alone in my office, always left out of
- 1:06:00Speaker 20: there after work at the same time. And I got
- 1:06:04Speaker 20: a phone call from my husband. He's my ex-husband now.
- 1:06:07Speaker 20: And I took the call. So I was late. So
- 1:06:10Speaker 20: I was walking really fast to my bus stop. And
- 1:06:14Speaker 20: when I got there, there was Fire department everywhere. Police
- 1:06:18Speaker 20: cars everywhere. My bus stop. Somebody hit the curb, went
- 1:06:23Speaker 20: over the curb, and crashed into the actual bus stop.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Oh, man. That's called something. It would have been there. Peyton,
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: did you say bring up the burnt toast theory?
- 1:06:32Speaker 11: The burnt toast theory, yeah. When one minor inconvenience offsets
- 1:06:38Speaker 11: a major inconvenience.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Yeah, wow. Way to go.
- 1:06:41Speaker 20: And they couldn't even get him. Out of the car,
- 1:06:43Speaker 20: he was dead.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: They couldn't get him out of the car.
- 1:06:47Speaker 20: Right at the actual bus stop pole, I would have
- 1:06:51Speaker 20: been standing there. And this was before cell phones. You know,
- 1:06:56Speaker 20: in the call, I took at the actual office, which
- 1:07:00Speaker 20: if I wouldn't have taken it, yeah.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: Wow, Judith.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Well, thanks for sharing.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: I'm glad you're alive. I'm glad you're still here. Thank you. Carrie,
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: how did you cheat death?
- 1:07:12Speaker 9: Are you there?
- 1:07:13Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: Hi.
- 1:07:15Speaker 17: Okay.
- 1:07:16Speaker 25: So, I mean, mine's not as scary, but I have
- 1:07:22Speaker 25: the bone cancer twice, then breast cancer, then three pulmonary embolism,
- 1:07:30Speaker 25: sepsis twice, you name it. I've I've kicked its ass.
- 1:07:37Speaker 20: Oh, but sorry.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: That's okay.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: You can say that.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: You're like a walking miracle.
- 1:07:44Speaker 25: I really kind of am. So yeah, the breast cancer
- 1:07:49Speaker 25: came from the radiation scatter from my bone cancer.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: So my cancer gave me cancer.
- 1:07:54Speaker 25: But I'm about to turn 47 on Monday and I
- 1:07:54Speaker 25: have two beautiful boys. After all of that, they didn't
- 1:08:05Speaker 25: think I was even going to be able to have kids.
- 1:08:07Speaker 25: So I feel like I am the luckiest person in
- 1:08:11Speaker 25: this world.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: Did you do something to cure yourself? Did you change
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: your diet? Did you exercise? Was there something you did
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: or just happened?
- 1:08:19Speaker 25: Well, I was a little girl when I had the
- 1:08:22Speaker 25: bone cancer twice. I only had a 15% chance of
- 1:08:26Speaker 25: making it. And back then, they didn't do like six.
- 1:08:32Speaker 25: you know, sessions of chemo they did.
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: I went in.
- 1:08:35Speaker 25: Every three weeks for almost two years and did three
- 1:08:39Speaker 25: different chemos, um, and radiation. So I was like a
- 1:08:43Speaker 25: skeleton and, but my dad and mom, they didn't let
- 1:08:46Speaker 25: me know how sick I was. Um, and that's huge. Um,
- 1:08:51Speaker 25: so they're awesome. So I, I knew I was sick,
- 1:08:56Speaker 25: obviously I'm puking and, you know, skin and bones and
- 1:09:00Speaker 25: I have no hair and literally look like a skeleton,
- 1:09:02Speaker 25: but I still played softball and my dad was my
- 1:09:04Speaker 25: coach and parents would yell at him like, how dare you?
- 1:09:08Speaker 25: And he's like, you know, he didn't know if I
- 1:09:11Speaker 25: was gonna, you know, make it and I loved it
- 1:09:13Speaker 25: and he let me. And so they, they got me
- 1:09:17Speaker 25: through it. And then, um, And then I got myself
- 1:09:20Speaker 25: through everything else. Just, I guess, grew up strong.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Wow, Kari, thank you so much. That was inspiring. Yeah,
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: very inspiring. I'm glad you called. I'm glad you, yeah,
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: thank you.
- 1:09:34Speaker 25: Oh, thank you.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: You survived and you listened to us. I love that.
- 1:09:38Speaker 7: Heck yeah.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: I bet you appreciate every day, every moment of every day,
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 1:09:43Speaker 7: Oh my God, yes.
- 1:09:44Speaker 25: Oh my God, yes.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: Every day I wake up and see them.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: I bet. Thank you for listening, Kari.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: No problem.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: This is going to be random. I'm going to completely
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: shift gears for one second. Pilar.
- 1:10:00Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: Hi.
- 1:10:01Speaker 22: Hi.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: What are you calling about?
- 1:10:02Speaker 18: So I started Googling about large clamshells.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Oh, because John Jay has two clamshells.
- 1:10:13Speaker 18: Yeah, that he's willing to sell, but I'm not into buying,
- 1:10:16Speaker 18: but I just wanted to find what was the largest
- 1:10:19Speaker 18: clamshell ever found.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: And what'd you find?
- 1:10:22Speaker 18: And I sent you the info, but I got to
- 1:10:24Speaker 18: put you on speaker because I don't remember what it said.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: By the way, let me just give a little backstory.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: My mother-in-law, when she passed away, my wife, Blake and I,
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: or Blake, inherited these massive clamshells that she has that
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: she got like in the 60s. And I believe what
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: I've been told is they're illegal and they're humongous and
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: they weigh like 300 pounds. Like you can't move these things.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: It's so hard to move them. So go ahead, Pilar,
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: put me on speakerphone. Let me see. Let me know
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: if you find the price.
- 1:10:55Speaker 18: The one that I Googled says that it's 750 pounds
- 1:10:59Speaker 18: off of Japan in 1956.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Oh, that's probably where she got it.
- 1:11:07Speaker 8: Any idea what they're worth on the, I don't know
- 1:11:09Speaker 8: what the, The underground clamshell market?
- 1:11:13Speaker 18: That one I did not Google, but I just thought
- 1:11:16Speaker 18: it was interesting info.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: You know how if you see a clamshell, like, in
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: a store, even if it's a small one, it's all
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: bright and shiny and polished? Yeah. These aren't. These are humongous. Like,
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: they were just found and dried out. Like, they look
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: like if you had them and you did do that
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: polishing thing, that they'd be worth gazillions and they would
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: be beautiful.
- 1:11:32Speaker 11: Are they, like, symmetrical? What does that mean? Like, do
- 1:11:37Speaker 11: they look exactly the same?
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, like they look like it's one clam, but they're apart.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: Like you could put it on and be.
- 1:11:42Speaker 22: I think we need a picture.
- 1:11:45Speaker 8: Like a split, like a split clamshell. Like the clam
- 1:11:47Speaker 8: came out. Yeah, there's a giant.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: It's open. They're not attached, but they would be on
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: top of each other and they're humongous.
- 1:11:54Speaker 11: Because when I think of clamshell, I literally think of
- 1:11:56Speaker 11: like Ariel's grotto, like her sitting in a big clamshell
- 1:12:01Speaker 11: with like, I don't know. I'm like trying to see, like,
- 1:12:04Speaker 11: do they look like real clamshells or do they look
- 1:12:06Speaker 11: like cartoon clamshells?
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: According to the internet, John Jay, you could be sitting
- 1:12:10Speaker 9: on something that's worth about $ 3, 000 to $ 10, 000.
- 1:12:12Speaker 17: Huh.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: Oh, well, if anyone wants to.
- 1:12:16Speaker 18: But also maybe jail time, right?
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: What's the rule of that? There's that. If you inherit something,
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: it's illegal. I mean, what the heck? I can't go
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: to prison for that. It's not my fault. I'm not
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: real sure about the rules there. Like, if I inherited
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: a bunch of cocaine, do I get in trouble for that?
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: If I inherited a stolen... Picasso. Uh-huh. Am I in
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: trouble for that? I didn't know it was stolen.
- 1:12:38Speaker 9: Okay, according to the Google, regarding legality, the answer sort
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: of depends entirely on where you live and when the
- 1:12:44Speaker 9: shell was harvested. So since it was way back in
- 1:12:47Speaker 9: the day, probably wasn't illegal at the time, I would
- 1:12:50Speaker 9: think you'd be in the clear.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: I also don't know how Blake's mom got it because
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: she weighed about 45 pounds. How she carried it to
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: the house. How she carried this thing out of the
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: water in a backpack. I don't know where she got it.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: But Pilar, thank you for that investigation. Thank you for
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: calling in.
- 1:13:02Speaker 19: Yeah, no problem.
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: Thank you, guys.
- 1:13:04Speaker 16: Have a good day.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: You too. That's awesome. Kyle Payton going to break down
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: everything going on in entertainment. Like?
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: I'll tell you which celebrity just admitted they literally have
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: never read a book. Next with John Jay and Rich.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: If chaos was a radio show, you're listening to it.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 1:13:20Speaker 16: Oh, no.
- 1:13:22Speaker 11: What?
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's John Jay
- 1:13:33Speaker 9: and Rich.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Kyle Payton, what's going on in the entertainment world?
- 1:13:36Speaker 9: Tom Cruise was on the Jennifer Hudson show yesterday to
- 1:13:39Speaker 9: promote his new movie, Digger. But another movie he's working
- 1:13:42Speaker 9: on came up and the crowd was so excited.
- 1:13:44Speaker 19: Top Gun 3 is officially in the works, guys.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: Anything you can give us is like just a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Maverick's going to be in it.
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: There's going to be fighter jets. It's going to be cool.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: Anything you do is cool, Tom. Yeah, thank you very much.
- 1:13:58Speaker 9: We know this.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: Thank you. That's about all I can say. I saw
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: this video yesterday. It's a security camera video of like
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: a restaurant. And it's a worker in the restaurant. And
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: she's on her phone. And the camera's from above her.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: And you can see behind her like a hallway, like
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: a doorway. And people walking by the hallway. And she's
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: on her phone. And you see some people walk by.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: And then someone backs up and turns around and walks
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: towards her. And it's Tom Cruise. And he walks over
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: and taps her on the shoulder and she turns around
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: and she's like, you can't hear anything. She goes, oh
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: my God, oh my God. And he gives her, he
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: dabs her up and goes like, you can hear him say,
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: keep working, nice job. Like she was in the kitchen dishwashing.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: That's sweet. And then he walks back and walks out like, what?
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: You can see her freaking out.
- 1:14:38Speaker 9: Wouldn't you be like, wait a second, you're Tom Cruise.
- 1:14:41Speaker 9: What are you doing back here? That's awesome. Alex Earl,
- 1:14:46Speaker 9: she was doing a podcast and was asked a question
- 1:14:48Speaker 9: that has a lot of people asking. kind of debating
- 1:14:51Speaker 9: her answer.
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: What's the last book you read?
- 1:14:54Speaker 9: I've never read a book.
- 1:14:55Speaker 10: Like maybe Dr.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: Seuss.
- 1:14:58Speaker 9: It's like, okay, you're 25 and you're saying you've never
- 1:15:00Speaker 9: read a book. So now the internet is debating, was
- 1:15:03Speaker 9: she actually serious? Or like, is she just like sort
- 1:15:07Speaker 9: of exaggerating the fact that she hasn't read it a
- 1:15:09Speaker 9: long time?
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: It's not surprising. She should think, she should think faster.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Like even like, but like, you know, Spider-Man brand new day.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Is that a book?
- 1:15:17Speaker 9: Yeah, it's a book.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: I know. The Bible. I would be like, the Bible.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: That's a good answer.
- 1:15:23Speaker 9: I'm having fun with that one.
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: John Steinbeck novels.
- 1:15:27Speaker 9: We know that Taylor Swift on her Life of a Showgirl,
- 1:15:30Speaker 9: the encore, she dropped a song called Cleveland. It already
- 1:15:34Speaker 9: does me to flee. And thanks to the fact that
- 1:15:49Speaker 9: her husband, Travis Kelsey, and his brother have a podcast,
- 1:15:52Speaker 9: we now know exactly how they both feel about that song.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Cleveland is rocking right now. Shout out to Tay Tay
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: for making that song. Just give them the city. Dude,
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: that song is incredible. Kylie and I have been listening
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: to it so much. Come on, man. There's just like
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: something about it. It makes you feel really good. It's
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: a great song.
- 1:16:08Speaker 11: Knowing it's about you, I'm sure makes.
- 1:16:10Speaker 10: You feel really good.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: And Taylor Swift did it.
- 1:16:13Speaker 9: Well, and they were like, it's so cool how they
- 1:16:16Speaker 9: feel that it's actually given the actual city Cleveland new life.
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: Like maybe more people will be interested in Cleveland now.
- 1:16:23Speaker 9: Go visit Ohio. Until they see it in the wintertime.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:16:26Speaker 11: Pete Davidson, he did an interview with Variety and he
- 1:16:30Speaker 11: really got into it. He basically called Kim Kardashian's exes
- 1:16:35Speaker 11: a band of survivors. And then he defended Ariana Grande
- 1:16:38Speaker 11: against online trolls. He said that his dating era is
- 1:16:41Speaker 11: like in the past. He's ready to settle down. But
- 1:16:44Speaker 11: he did admit.
- 1:16:46Speaker 15: Sorry.
- 1:16:47Speaker 9: I do like how while you're taking a sip of water,
- 1:16:51Speaker 9: I do like how in the interview he was like,
- 1:16:54Speaker 9: I really think I made it a lot easier for
- 1:16:57Speaker 9: everyone that Kim dated after me. Because, I mean, it
- 1:16:59Speaker 9: was the first time Kanye had Kim dating someone else.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Oh, that's true.
- 1:17:03Speaker 10: Freaked out.
- 1:17:04Speaker 9: And there was a whole thing. And it was kind
- 1:17:06Speaker 9: of like Pete Davidson ripped that bandaid off. Yeah.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: If you're with Pete Davidson, there's a lot of band-aids.
- 1:17:14Speaker 9: I mean, probably because he is trying to get rid
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: of his 200 tattoos.
- 1:17:16Speaker 10: No, definitely.
- 1:17:18Speaker 11: I mean, he got into fatherhood, how it completely changed
- 1:17:20Speaker 11: his life. He slammed influencer culture. He's like, we need
- 1:17:23Speaker 11: to do better. Like literally all these people, all these
- 1:17:26Speaker 11: girls are doing are talking to themselves in their bedrooms
- 1:17:28Speaker 11: and it's a little alarming. I was like, all right, Pete,
- 1:17:31Speaker 11: chill on the influencers. But what I thought was crazy
- 1:17:33Speaker 11: is how he admitted to cooking ketamine in his home
- 1:17:37Speaker 11: before hitting rock bottom. I was like, dang, Pete, I
- 1:17:39Speaker 11: know that you like dabbled in the drugs, but like
- 1:17:41Speaker 11: cooking it up in your kitchen is crazy.
- 1:17:44Speaker 9: It's pretty crazy.
- 1:17:45Speaker 11: So glad that he's choosing sobriety and he's kind of
- 1:17:47Speaker 11: back on his good path. Sia, she has inked a
- 1:17:51Speaker 11: massive music deal. She sold 50% of her catalog to
- 1:17:55Speaker 11: an entertainment company called Pop House for a whopping $ 180 million.
- 1:18:01Speaker 9: You go, Sia.
- 1:18:02Speaker 11: It covers her massive hits like Chandelier and Cheap Thrills.
- 1:18:06Speaker 11: But yeah, basically, she let go half of her stuff.
- 1:18:10Speaker 9: I would love some new Sia music.
- 1:18:12Speaker 10: She's such good music.
- 1:18:13Speaker 9: She definitely is. Mario Lopez, he's not a stranger to
- 1:18:17Speaker 9: people on the internet not liking what he does. But
- 1:18:21Speaker 9: he shared a moment that he thought was a really
- 1:18:24Speaker 9: cute moment.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: Dad-daughter date night. This time it's Usher and Breezy.
- 1:18:29Speaker 9: I see Breezy.
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: Hey, we're ready.
- 1:18:32Speaker 9: His daughter Gia is 16 years old. He brought her
- 1:18:34Speaker 9: the Chris Brown Usher show. And that sparked the internet
- 1:18:36Speaker 9: to be like, um, kind of an inappropriate concert to
- 1:18:40Speaker 9: bring your daughter to. And since you just went to
- 1:18:43Speaker 9: the concert, I was like, okay, if you had a
- 1:18:45Speaker 9: 16 year old that you had to look out for,
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: would you think that would be inappropriate?
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: No.
- 1:18:50Speaker 11: I literally, the two girls who are sitting right next
- 1:18:52Speaker 11: to us were 15 year olds and they were singing
- 1:18:54Speaker 11: and they were vibing like.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: She was with.
- 1:18:57Speaker 21: Her dad, too.
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:18:58Speaker 9: I was like, wouldn't you at least be thankful that
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: she was with her dad? Like, who cares?
- 1:19:03Speaker 10: Like, are you kidding me?
- 1:19:04Speaker 11: Like, literally, I was like seven years old singing every
- 1:19:07Speaker 11: word to love in this class.
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: Like, please.
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: That is just ridiculous. There are people backing him up
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: online saying, he's just a dad hanging out with his daughter,
- 1:19:16Speaker 9: which is a good thing. Let's leave that alone. And
- 1:19:18Speaker 9: it was a great show.
- 1:19:19Speaker 10: They need to get a grip.
- 1:19:20Speaker 9: That just made me mad.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:19:23Speaker 9: Lil Nas X is releasing a new song. It's going
- 1:19:25Speaker 9: to be called World's Greatest. It'll drop tomorrow. It's dedicated
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: to his mom who passed away in August. Now, the
- 1:19:30Speaker 9: teaser he just dropped includes an actual voicemail she left
- 1:19:34Speaker 9: him before she passed away. I just want to say
- 1:19:37Speaker 9: love you.
- 1:19:38Speaker 7: Keep your head up.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: Everything else is going to work itself in its own place.
- 1:19:43Speaker 6: Don't give up.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: Never give up.
- 1:19:45Speaker 19: And I want to say I love you.
- 1:19:46Speaker 6: Don't forget that.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Love you.
- 1:19:51Speaker 9: So I feel like this is going to be maybe
- 1:19:53Speaker 9: the era of a new side of Lil Nas X
- 1:19:56Speaker 9: that we maybe haven't seen before.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: I wonder if this is going to be like a
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: good Mother's Day song or something. Because as soon as
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: I read the story or heard it from you, I thought,
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: how can you have a song called World's Greatest when
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: you've got, you know, what's that song? Last name, greatest,
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: first name ever.
- 1:20:11Speaker 11: Drake.
- 1:20:12Speaker 10: Like a sprained ankle.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: Matt Reif coming to the Valley December 31st. We got
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: your free tickets right now. You got to win Celebrity
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: Who Said That. 877-937-1047. We're going to play after Nelly Furtado.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: Good morning, Jess. How are you?
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: Good.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: How are you? You a fan of Matt Reif?
- 1:20:34Speaker 23: Oh, yeah.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: All right. Good. Well, we're going to play a game.
- 1:20:37Speaker 22: Y'all ready for this?
- 1:20:40Speaker 17: Without further ado, Celebrity Who Said That.
- 1:20:45Speaker 9: All right, we're going to get things started with you,
- 1:20:47Speaker 9: John J. Van Ness. This celebrity once spent their very
- 1:20:51Speaker 9: first acting paycheck on a trip to New York.
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: I'm here with your mom. I'm here with your sister also.
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: Come here, Jill.
- 1:21:00Speaker 11: What?
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: Will Ferrell.
- 1:21:04Speaker 9: Which celebrity said that?
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: Rich for the Steel.
- 1:21:06Speaker 9: Not Will Ferrell. Rich for the Steel?
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: I believe that is a movie's Glenn Powell.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Incorrect.
- 1:21:12Speaker 9: That's Matt Damon, who actually crashed the Jimmy Kimmel show
- 1:21:16Speaker 9: just the other night in a very funny moment, you guys.
- 1:21:19Speaker 9: It was a very funny moment. Their little, I don't know,
- 1:21:23Speaker 9: fake riff. Rich, we're on to you. This celebrity is
- 1:21:28Speaker 9: apparently a huge Star Trek fan, so much so that
- 1:21:30Speaker 9: he named his production company Red Hour after an episode
- 1:21:33Speaker 9: of the show.
- 1:21:34Speaker 16: I knew someone who knew his lawyer, so I wrote
- 1:21:37Speaker 16: an email to him.
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: Oh, that sounds like Ben Stiller. I'm going to go
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: with that.
- 1:21:41Speaker 9: You would be the first one on the board with
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: a point with that, Rich. Way to go, Peyton. This
- 1:21:45Speaker 9: celebrity is a huge science nerd and has talked about
- 1:21:48Speaker 9: how much they genuinely love that little thing in school, science.
- 1:21:54Speaker 9: I am obsessed with the menstrual cycle diaper.
- 1:21:59Speaker 10: Is that Quinta Brunson?
- 1:22:01Speaker 9: It is not Quinta Brunson. Anyone for the steal in three, two, nope. No, sorry, guys.
- 1:22:07Speaker 9: That's Raven-Symoné.
- 1:22:08Speaker 11: She would say something like that.
- 1:22:12Speaker 9: I mean, it makes sense that she loves science and
- 1:22:14Speaker 9: that's something she enjoys.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: I guess.
- 1:22:16Speaker 9: Okay, Jess, it is your turn. I feel like there
- 1:22:22Speaker 9: is no introductory necessary for this huge star. I got
- 1:22:28Speaker 9: to tell you, though, the main reason why I love
- 1:22:30Speaker 9: writing and directing music videos so much is because you,
- 1:22:33Speaker 9: the fans, make it so much fun.
- 1:22:35Speaker 22: Is it Taylor Swift?
- 1:22:38Speaker 9: It is Taylor Swift after round one. Just Rich and
- 1:22:41Speaker 9: Jess on the board. You all have a chance to
- 1:22:43Speaker 9: redeem yourself here in round two. John Jay, this celebrity
- 1:22:47Speaker 9: once appeared on Mob Wives and says he'd actually drove
- 1:22:51Speaker 9: the getaway car after a restaurant fight.
- 1:22:56Speaker 25: I got two concussions inside three weeks.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: Pete Davidson?
- 1:23:01Speaker 9: It is Pete Davidson.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 1:23:03Speaker 9: John Jay, on the board, every question this round is
- 1:23:06Speaker 9: worth more points. So right now, you're in the lead,
- 1:23:08Speaker 9: John Jay. No pressure, Rich.
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: None at all.
- 1:23:11Speaker 9: This celebrity's last name actually isn't the name they were
- 1:23:16Speaker 9: born with.
- 1:23:17Speaker 19: You know what really bothers me about Colin being married
- 1:23:20Speaker 19: to Scarlett Johansson?
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Ben Affleck.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: Incorrect.
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: Anyone for the steal in three?
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: Jay-Z. Oh, Michael Che.
- 1:23:30Speaker 9: It is Michael Che, which makes John Jay really in
- 1:23:34Speaker 9: the lead now. So the pressure is on. Peyton, we
- 1:23:37Speaker 9: move over to you in round two. This celebrity was
- 1:23:41Speaker 9: once named Miss Fire Prevention of Nashville as a teenager.
- 1:23:45Speaker 9: It's not a show. It's an experience. It's to be felt. Um,
- 1:23:53Speaker 9: is that Gayle King? No, Rich heard you first for
- 1:23:56Speaker 9: that steal.
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: Oprah.
- 1:23:58Speaker 9: That was Oprah Winfrey talking about her new Sphere show.
- 1:24:01Speaker 9: They're like the same person. Don't say that. You're going
- 1:24:04Speaker 9: to get a lot of hate online for that one.
- 1:24:06Speaker 9: They're like besties, aren't they?
- 1:24:08Speaker 19: Aren't they?
- 1:24:08Speaker 10: They're one in the same.
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: In my eyes. Okay, Jess, this is your chance to
- 1:24:12Speaker 9: take over because this final question in Celebrity Who Said
- 1:24:16Speaker 9: That is worth 75,000 points.
- 1:24:18Speaker 15: Wow.
- 1:24:20Speaker 9: So no pressure at all. All you have to do
- 1:24:22Speaker 9: is tell me who said this. This celebrity is reportedly
- 1:24:25Speaker 9: such a basketball fanatic. They've just been known to randomly
- 1:24:28Speaker 9: jump into pickup games with just us regular people.
- 1:24:32Speaker 16: Nobody even thought about what I was wearing until you
- 1:24:35Speaker 16: brought it up.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: Did my snazzy gym shorts offend you so much you
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: had to mock me in front of my peers?
- 1:24:43Speaker 9: I heard Adam Sandler, which makes you our winner by
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: 75,000 points.
- 1:24:47Speaker 10: Congratulations, Jess.
- 1:24:50Speaker 17: Thank you.
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: All right, Jess, hold on.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I'm going to set you up those Matt Rife tickets.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: Thanks for listening. Thank you. It is October 1st today.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: So we got 30 days to get a costume ready
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: for Halloween. And a pop culture website, these are the
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: big ones this year. How do they call it? They
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: call it, if you want to have your finger on
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: the pulse of what's happening right now, these are some
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: of the costumes that people are looking at. Spider-Man. Okay, huge.
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: Rylan Grace. You guys know who that is? Who is that?
- 1:25:23Speaker 10: Oh, that's from Project Hail Mary.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Yes, Rylan Grace in Project Hail Mary. Do you know
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: who this person is? Sabrina Carpenter. The mill.
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: Who?
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: House tour. Pitbull. Charlie XCX. Patricia on Widow's Bay. I
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: don't know that. I mean, I'm no, that's for the
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: Apple show. Yeah.
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: And Huntrix, Harry Styles in the dance. No more video,
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: which is a great video. Olivia Rodrigo from the, you
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: seem pretty sad for a girl. So in love cover
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: Dolly Parton, these are the top costumes are saying people
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: can be doing. And when you go, what's the, what's
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: the Halloween party you guys are hosting?
- 1:25:58Speaker 8: Uh, we're doing the, you might see these there.
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: Uh, I guess a lot of people are getting dressed
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: up as the doctors on the pit. No, that's good.
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: Two of the people from Heated Rivalry. Now, these are
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: the top five costumes. From the movie Backrooms, the people
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: in the hazmat suits. A lot of people are getting
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: dressed as Taylor Swift and her friends wearing those coordinated
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: shirts at the Knicks games.
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:26:27Speaker 10: That's a cute costume.
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: Athena and Odysseus in The Odyssey.
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: Okay.
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: The number two costume that is supposed to be the
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: big hot one, and I think if I saw it,
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: I'd get it, but I would never think of dressing
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: like this for Halloween, was being the Bushes in Bad
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show. That's funny.
- 1:26:47Speaker 10: That's cute.
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: That is really good. And the number one costume that
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: I guess everyone's going to be is Freaky Nicky in Obsession. Yeah,
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: it's huge. That movie's massive. I don't want to see it.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: You should not. By the way, Kyle, you started watching
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: that show I told you about? party what's it called.
- 1:27:00Speaker 9: Party down party on yeah i watched an episode of
- 1:27:03Speaker 9: it first of all first of all i feel like
- 1:27:04Speaker 9: you have to be in the right frame of mind
- 1:27:06Speaker 9: for that type of comedy right but i can see
- 1:27:08Speaker 9: it having potential to be very funny.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: Right okay good good good that's on netflix i was
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: talking about that yesterday there's three seasons um what's coming.
- 1:27:14Speaker 9: Up what do we need to know today kyle five
- 1:27:15Speaker 9: hundred dollars could be showing up in your mailbox soon
- 1:27:18Speaker 9: i'll tell you what you need to know next with
- 1:27:20Speaker 9: john jane rich mr part of the show this morning
- 1:27:23Speaker 9: no worries it's all there on my heart radio kyle
- 1:27:26Speaker 9: what do we need to know today This sounds like
- 1:27:28Speaker 9: it could be a movie. So a pilot on a
- 1:27:30Speaker 9: fly Dubai flight allegedly stabbed his co-pilot and then tried
- 1:27:34Speaker 9: to hijack and crash the plane. But passengers managed to
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: overpower him. And somehow a passenger who happens to be
- 1:27:42Speaker 9: a plumber by trade took control of the airplane and
- 1:27:46Speaker 9: literally helped land it safely to the ground. Um, It
- 1:27:51Speaker 9: was a stunt that probably he never saw himself doing.
- 1:27:54Speaker 9: The pilot that was stabbed was smart enough to unlock
- 1:27:59Speaker 9: the door to the cockpit as he was fighting the guy.
- 1:28:02Speaker 9: They've detained the guy, but this is like just absolutely insane.
- 1:28:07Speaker 9: People on the flight landed safely, which is.
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: That's a miracle.
- 1:28:10Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, which is definitely an amazing thing. Now,
- 1:28:14Speaker 9: if you bought your health insurance through a federal ACA marketplace,
- 1:28:18Speaker 9: you may want to keep an eye on your mailbox.
- 1:28:20Speaker 9: Because the government says they are sending a $ 500 refund
- 1:28:24Speaker 9: check to about a million people across 30 states. The
- 1:28:28Speaker 9: administration says those people were overcharged through marketplace user fees
- 1:28:32Speaker 9: during the Biden administration. And so now they want you
- 1:28:34Speaker 9: to have your money back, which is great. So keep
- 1:28:36Speaker 9: an eye on that if that applies to you. DoorDash
- 1:28:39Speaker 9: says they're about to test drone delivery with restaurants like
- 1:28:41Speaker 9: Chipotle and Popeyes. In the early trials of the actual flight,
- 1:28:46Speaker 9: the food got to the person's house within five.
- 1:28:49Speaker 10: Minutes of ordering.
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: Oh, that's awesome.
- 1:28:51Speaker 9: That's insane. That's like, that's faster than a drive-thru almost.
- 1:28:56Speaker 9: It's really crazy. Like I said, it's just in the
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: testing stages right now, but pretty cool as to what
- 1:29:02Speaker 9: could come when it comes to food delivery. Today technically
- 1:29:05Speaker 9: starts Arizona's new water year, and they say there's some
- 1:29:09Speaker 9: pretty major changes coming that kind of sound crazy until
- 1:29:12Speaker 9: you get the context. So like if you're hearing Arizona's
- 1:29:15Speaker 9: losing a huge chunk of the Colorado River water and
- 1:29:17Speaker 9: wondering like, so does this mean I'm going to Need
- 1:29:20Speaker 9: to start taking like three minute showers right now? No,
- 1:29:24Speaker 9: nothing changes with the water coming out of your faucet today.
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: And they say the cuts don't even actually kick in
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: until January. But they say the bigger issue is kind
- 1:29:32Speaker 9: of down the road because Lake Mead and Lake Powell
- 1:29:35Speaker 9: are still really low. So Arizona and other states that
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: depend on the Colorado River have to figure out how
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: we make less water stretch a whole lot further. This
- 1:29:43Speaker 9: is something that I've seen kind of like on social media.
- 1:29:45Speaker 9: I see this every year. I'm like, oh, my gosh,
- 1:29:47Speaker 9: that's so cool. I kind of wish I knew about
- 1:29:49Speaker 9: this sooner. So seeing this story, I'm like, I got
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: to share this with you because this is sooner. So
- 1:29:54Speaker 9: we are three weeks away from Scottsdale's big hot air
- 1:29:58Speaker 9: balloon Halloween event. Have you ever seen it? It's like
- 1:30:00Speaker 9: the spooktacular hot air balloon festival. People go and you
- 1:30:03Speaker 9: go there and at Salt River Field, they have all
- 1:30:05Speaker 9: of these glowing tethered hot air balloons. And it just
- 1:30:08Speaker 9: looks like such a cool, fun family event. I don't
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: want to go anywhere.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: No, my wife is going next week to Albuquerque. Oh,
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: that's a big one there. Well, the balloon festival, because
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: her sister is a hot air balloon pilot.
- 1:30:22Speaker 9: Oh, I wonder if she'll maybe come here too for
- 1:30:24Speaker 9: one of them. But yeah, it's three weeks away. So
- 1:30:26Speaker 9: it's that weekend of October 23rd, 25th. If you've seen
- 1:30:29Speaker 9: it on social media and you wish you got a
- 1:30:31Speaker 9: heads up, here's your heads up. And that's what you
- 1:30:33Speaker 9: need to know.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: Blake's sister, Brenda, has her own hot air balloon. She's
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: a pilot. And the name of the balloon is Jelly Bean.
- 1:30:39Speaker 9: That's so cute.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: It's pretty cute. I love that.
- 1:30:41Speaker 10: Where do you keep... Hot air balloon. Like, does she
- 1:30:43Speaker 10: just keep it in her garage?
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: Does it say hot air balloon pilot?
- 1:30:47Speaker 10: Well, I thought you were her brother-in-law that you might
- 1:30:49Speaker 10: know that answer.
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: I don't really talk to her. How dare you ask
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: a follow-up question on this show? I don't really talk. Yesterday,
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: I was watching the new episode of Ted Lasso, and
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: Blake's other sister came over, Brooks, really nice person, but
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: they were going to dinner to do their thing. So
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: I made my smoothie, and I was going to watch
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: Ted Lasso, and she talked to me the whole time.
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: I had to do that thing where I was, like,
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: pausing and going.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: You had to do that thing. Anyway. Shawna, good morning.
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: You're on the air.
- 1:31:17Speaker 20: Hey.
- 1:31:18Speaker 6: So Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and, John Jay,
- 1:31:21Speaker 6: you were going over, like, top costumes.
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:23Speaker 6: So I just wanted to share what me and my
- 1:31:25Speaker 6: husband dressed up last year. We actually won second place
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: in a costume contest for our neighborhood, and he was
- 1:31:33Speaker 6: a Costco worker, and I was a hot dog.
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: Chill.
- 1:31:37Speaker 11: Oh, that's good.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: Cute. Was there prize money involved?
- 1:31:44Speaker 6: No, but I got a bottle of Boone's Farm.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: Same.
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: Classic. You know what, though?
- 1:31:50Speaker 8: He kind of got it easy because I would think
- 1:31:52Speaker 8: a Costco worker would be a comfortable outfit where I
- 1:31:54Speaker 8: don't think a hot dog costume would be that comfortable.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: Well, check this out. What's the grand prize of the
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: thing you guys are hosting? It's like a lot of money.
- 1:32:00Speaker 9: There's $ 15, 000 in prizes.
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: Get that hot dog costume, Shauna. Bring it on, girl.
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: Go to Talking Stick. You can win. Thanks, Shauna.
- 1:32:08Speaker 22: And we.
- 1:32:10Speaker 6: We even passed around candy in little cups as like.
- 1:32:13Speaker 18: Hors d'oeuvres for like the sample people.
- 1:32:16Speaker 11: So it was fun.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: That's a good costume.
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: Thanks, Shauna.
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: Yeah. Cynthia.
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: Good morning. You're on the air. Cynthia.
- 1:32:26Speaker 23: Hi, good morning.
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: Um, John day.
- 1:32:30Speaker 12: Um, I wanted to see if you could throw my
- 1:32:32Speaker 12: daughter a prayer. Um, I know you do that and
- 1:32:34Speaker 12: people have requested it, but my daughter is, uh, recent graduate. Um,
- 1:32:39Speaker 12: she's a biomedical engineer, recent graduate from GCU college, and
- 1:32:43Speaker 12: she's actually traveling to Taiwan for five.
- 1:32:46Speaker 22: Weeks today for work. So I'm super excited.
- 1:32:50Speaker 12: My mama heart's kind of going in a million different directions.
- 1:32:52Speaker 12: I'm nervous, happy, excited, proud.
- 1:32:54Speaker 22: Um, but I definitely would.
- 1:32:55Speaker 19: Love the prayer.
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: Let's throw that.
- 1:32:57Speaker 12: She's only 22.
- 1:32:58Speaker 16: My baby.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Here we go. Here we go. There you go. Um,
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: How exciting for her to be 22 years old and
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: go to Taiwan. And you're there just for the right
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: amount of time where you can say, I lived in
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: another country. That's a good point. That's pretty cool.
- 1:33:11Speaker 11: Yes.
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: That's pretty cool, Cynthia.
- 1:33:12Speaker 22: Yes, for five weeks.
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: You must be very proud.
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: I appreciate it.
- 1:33:15Speaker 3: Thanks for listening. I'm so proud.
- 1:33:17Speaker 4: Me and my husband are proud.
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:33:18Speaker 22: Have a great day.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: You too.
