- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark Simone R. Well, Hey, a beautiful day to day.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's gonna be well, it's gonna be very hot ninety tomorrow,
- 0:14Speaker 1: ninety on Saturday, but bright sunshine. It's like summer. It
- 0:17Speaker 1: changes on Sunday, gets a little cooler, and there there
- 0:20Speaker 1: might be rain. We'll get to Scott Pelley in a moment.
- 0:24Speaker 1: A couple of things going on. Todd blanche the acting
- 0:28Speaker 1: attorney general. President Trump has nominated him to be the
- 0:32Speaker 1: attorney general. They'll try to Democrats in Congress will try
- 0:37Speaker 1: to stop him. They'll yell about Epstein and all kinds
- 0:40Speaker 1: of things. Yeah, and the other thing. If you're Democrat
- 0:43Speaker 1: and you watch MSNBC or CNN, all they'll be telling
- 0:48Speaker 1: you all day. I watched him do it this morning.
- 0:50Speaker 1: President Trump has nominated Todd his personal lawyer. This is
- 0:54Speaker 1: a horrible, unheard of to nominate your personal lawyer to
- 1:00Speaker 1: be the attorney general. Well, they're just lying to you.
- 1:04Speaker 1: It's happened many times. Remember John Mitchell was the attorney general.
- 1:07Speaker 1: He had been Nixon's personal lawyer. Ed Meese was the
- 1:10Speaker 1: attorney general under Reagan. He had been Reagan's personal It
- 1:14Speaker 1: happens a lot. It's not unusual. Don't listen to these people. Hey,
- 1:19Speaker 1: John F. Kennedy appointed his brother attorney general, who'd not
- 1:23Speaker 1: only been his personal lawyer, he'd been his campaign manager.
- 1:26Speaker 1: He'd been there. It's perfectly normal. Happens all the time. Now,
- 1:30Speaker 1: this guy that I always forget his name, the guy
- 1:32Speaker 1: that Trump has nominated for DNI Director of National Intelligence,
- 1:37Speaker 1: doesn't seem to be qualified. Everybody's got problems with this guy.
- 1:41Speaker 1: But you got to remember he has not nominated him
- 1:44Speaker 1: to be the Director of National Intelligence, Bill Poltz. He
- 1:47Speaker 1: has thrown him in there as the acting DNI, acting.
- 1:54Speaker 1: He is not nominating him for the job. Now, this
- 1:57Speaker 1: happened once before, and I can't remember the names, but
- 2:00Speaker 1: a long time ago, in the first Trump term, he
- 2:03Speaker 1: just threw somebody in there is acting for you know,
- 2:06Speaker 1: a couple of months until he found who he wanted,
- 2:08Speaker 1: which was John Ratcliffe. And Ratcliffe was a great choice.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So you'll see the same thing here. This guy's just temporary.
- 2:15Speaker 1: He's not going to be the nominee. Yeah. Oh, I
- 2:22Speaker 1: wanted to mention Ukraine. Good for them, Ukraine is but
- 2:25Speaker 1: you know when Russia invaded Ukraine, you figured, ouh, that's
- 2:30Speaker 1: it for Ukraine now being wiped out in two months,
- 2:33Speaker 1: Well it's about six years later and they're doing just fine.
- 2:36Speaker 1: In fact, if you had to score this on points,
- 2:39Speaker 1: Ukraine wins at this point. Now they've gotten really good.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Instead of just coming over here crying and begging for
- 2:46Speaker 1: our weapons, they've gotten really good at making their own weapons.
- 2:49Speaker 1: They've been using drones more than ever. And they not
- 2:53Speaker 1: only used drones, they figured out how to make drones.
- 2:56Speaker 1: They built massive drone factories in the Ukrain. They're making
- 3:00Speaker 1: all their own drones. They've become so effective with drones.
- 3:04Speaker 1: In fact, when it comes to going to war in
- 3:07Speaker 1: Iran or something, we might be able to learn something
- 3:09Speaker 1: from Ukraine about what they've been doing drone wise. Now
- 3:13Speaker 1: Putin is about to go to his big economic forum.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's his version of Davos. It's this very ritzy annual
- 3:23Speaker 1: economic forum. They hold it in Saint Petersburg. It's the
- 3:27Speaker 1: Saint Petersburg International and Economic Forum. It's going to be
- 3:30Speaker 1: held this week. Well, right before it opens, Ukraine strikes
- 3:36Speaker 1: Saint Petersburg with the drones. They got a big fuel
- 3:40Speaker 1: export depot there, big fuel hub, very important to Putin.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Ukraine wiped it out in a drone blitz at the
- 3:49Speaker 1: beginning of the week. Just wiped out that fuel hub
- 3:52Speaker 1: right before he's about to start this economic forum. Good
- 3:58Speaker 1: for Ukraine. Ukraine blew it all up. In fact, if
- 4:01Speaker 1: you go to the Economic Forum, you'll notice thick black
- 4:03Speaker 1: smoke billowing into the sky. Long range drones slammed into
- 4:08Speaker 1: that oil terminal and completely wiped it out. Pretty amazing. Hey,
- 4:14Speaker 1: we're talking about oh, one more thing, John Bolton. You
- 4:17Speaker 1: remember John Bolton got indicted. He had stolen classified documents.
- 4:23Speaker 1: They found out he had lots of classified documents, He
- 4:26Speaker 1: had absolutely no authorization to take them, and he was indicted.
- 4:33Speaker 1: A while back, he was arrested, he was indicted, and
- 4:36Speaker 1: everybody said, well, so this is a frame job. It's
- 4:40Speaker 1: Trump out to get people. He's frame Well not only
- 4:43Speaker 1: was he not framing him. Yesterday, Bolton pled guilty. He
- 4:48Speaker 1: pled guilty. They made a deal. He won't go to prison,
- 4:50Speaker 1: he'll pay a two million dollar fine, but he's guilty.
- 4:53Speaker 1: He admitted to being guilty. He pled guilty. He was guilty.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Remember Bolton, he's that guy with the big Walrus mustard.
- 5:00Speaker 1: He's a guy who for a thousand years was screaming,
- 5:04Speaker 1: we have to go blow up Iran. We have to.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You know, he was a real hawk, a real war guy,
- 5:11Speaker 1: real warhawk. We have to blow up a ran, blow
- 5:13Speaker 1: up a in Now. Trump did hire him in the
- 5:15Speaker 1: first term. But Trump can't stand to me either and
- 5:18Speaker 1: knows he's a nutjob. But Trump hired him just to
- 5:22Speaker 1: be in the pictures in the room to scare Iran
- 5:25Speaker 1: in other countries because they were afraid of Bolton because
- 5:28Speaker 1: he was such a hawk and he was ready to
- 5:29Speaker 1: blow him all up. So Trump didn't want have to
- 5:32Speaker 1: do that back then. So he's hired Bolton to make
- 5:34Speaker 1: it look like there's something bad could happen, just to
- 5:37Speaker 1: intimidate them. He had Bolton sitting there. But Bolton's a bad,
- 5:42Speaker 1: bad guy, and he did steal classified documents, as did
- 5:46Speaker 1: Joe Biden. He was caught with seven thousand stolen classified
- 5:50Speaker 1: documents in his house when he took them he was
- 5:53Speaker 1: a senator, no authority to take them. The others he
- 5:57Speaker 1: took when he was vice president and his vice presid
- 6:00Speaker 1: you have no authority to take them. Trump, who did
- 6:03Speaker 1: not have classified documents in Marlago, They really found nothing.
- 6:06Speaker 1: They found thirty five sort of classified if you put
- 6:11Speaker 1: them in a folder. It's one inch of one box
- 6:13Speaker 1: that was even considered classified documents. But they're not classified
- 6:17Speaker 1: because Trump, as president, has the authority to take the documents.
- 6:23Speaker 1: He's the one that's classifying them. He's the President's up
- 6:26Speaker 1: to him what's classified, and he could unclassify anything at
- 6:29Speaker 1: any time. So if that had gone to a real court,
- 6:32Speaker 1: all of that would have come out. Same thing happened
- 6:33Speaker 1: to Bill Clinton when he was caught with classified documents.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It went into a real court and he pointed out,
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm the president, and I unclassified them. He has every
- 6:41Speaker 1: right to do that, and Clinton won the case in court,
- 6:45Speaker 1: as Trump would have. So Hey, CBS, Scott Pelley, despite
- 6:51Speaker 1: his sanctimonious nonsense, was a fake news guy. He ran
- 6:55Speaker 1: lots and lots and lots of fake news, and CBS,
- 6:58Speaker 1: unfortunately sixty Minutes went all to hell about ten years
- 7:02Speaker 1: ago and became I guess because of Trump. They went
- 7:04Speaker 1: crazy because of Trump, and they became a fake news
- 7:07Speaker 1: organization and they were running lots of fake news. It
- 7:11Speaker 1: was really really ugly fake news. They made up that
- 7:15Speaker 1: whole fake Ron Desanta scandal that didn't exist. He could
- 7:19Speaker 1: have explained it in one second. They wouldn't let him
- 7:21Speaker 1: on the air to explain it. They wouldn't include him
- 7:23Speaker 1: in the piece. They lied about Hunter Biden's laptop laptop,
- 7:28Speaker 1: they lied about Trump and the wire tap. They said
- 7:33Speaker 1: he wasn't wire tapped in Trump Tower. Of course he was,
- 7:36Speaker 1: and it was proven. Remember they doctored up the Kamala
- 7:41Speaker 1: Harris interview right before the election. When asked about Israel,
- 7:45Speaker 1: she couldn't answer and she mumbled out some ridiculous word
- 7:49Speaker 1: solid answer. Well, they cut it out and they stuck
- 7:51Speaker 1: in a good answer that they found from some other
- 7:54Speaker 1: interview and for another question. So they doctored up the interview.
- 7:58Speaker 1: They doctored up interviews Biden to make him look coherent.
- 8:01Speaker 1: You can see it when you watch it as he's talking,
- 8:03Speaker 1: all of a sudden, you can see there's edits because
- 8:05Speaker 1: he lost his place and didn't know what he was saying.
- 8:07Speaker 1: They cut all that out. So it's just total fake news. Now,
- 8:10Speaker 1: when did CBS go really bad? It was really Dan
- 8:13Speaker 1: Rather If you go back to the great Kronkite era,
- 8:18Speaker 1: they were always a kind of left wing guys working.
- 8:20Speaker 1: They were always Democrats and sometimes there was a little slant.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I mean sometimes they just put in a certain adjective
- 8:27Speaker 1: or something. But when Rather came in, it was total corruption.
- 8:32Speaker 1: They went total fake news. Remember it began when Bush senior,
- 8:38Speaker 1: George H. W. Bush was running for reelection and it
- 8:41Speaker 1: was getting close to the election and he and Clinton, well,
- 8:44Speaker 1: it was very close, so they were trying to hurt Bush.
- 8:47Speaker 1: So Rather decided they would open the Evening News every
- 8:50Speaker 1: night with a special feature called Economy in Crisis and
- 8:56Speaker 1: this dramatic music. Every night they'd opened the CBS Evening
- 8:59Speaker 1: News are rusial feature Economy in Crisis. It wasn't in crisis,
- 9:03Speaker 1: but they did this every night, five nights a week.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Every broadcast they'd give you the headlines, the thing and
- 9:09Speaker 1: also coming up our special feature Economy in Crisis. All
- 9:15Speaker 1: of a sudden, the election happens, Clinton wins. That night,
- 9:18Speaker 1: the features gone, there's no Economy in crisis. They dropped
- 9:21Speaker 1: it that night and it was just total fake news.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And you remember the famous confrontation. George HW. Bush goes
- 9:29Speaker 1: live on the CBS Evening News with Rather and Rather
- 9:33Speaker 1: it's just mister fake news trying to punch and beat
- 9:36Speaker 1: up Bush. Although Bush fought back in fact, Bush fought
- 9:40Speaker 1: back so strongly that a lot of people think that's
- 9:42Speaker 1: what turned it for him. That was the first time
- 9:44Speaker 1: he ran and helped get him elected. But it was
- 9:47Speaker 1: rather that changed everything. You could do whatever you want,
- 9:51Speaker 1: you could make up stuff, you could lie. It was
- 9:54Speaker 1: rather that push that whole fake story that George W.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Bush had gone a wall, which he did no truth
- 10:01Speaker 1: to that, and to prove it he used a forged
- 10:04Speaker 1: fake document, total fake document. He got caught with a fake,
- 10:10Speaker 1: forged document from supposedly from some superior officer about Bush
- 10:16Speaker 1: going a wall, and he actually ran this work got
- 10:21Speaker 1: him fired. When they investigated, they realized he faked this document.
- 10:24Speaker 1: And when he got caught, he found some secretary or
- 10:30Speaker 1: something from that National Guard office to say, well, it
- 10:34Speaker 1: may have been fake, but I think that's what he
- 10:36Speaker 1: would have written. And he put her on the air.
- 10:40Speaker 1: He used that as evidence, but he wouldn't put on
- 10:43Speaker 1: the air the guy's wife. The guy's wife had said
- 10:46Speaker 1: to them, I know him better than anybody. He loved
- 10:49Speaker 1: George W. Bush. He was very impressed with him. He
- 10:52Speaker 1: never went a wall. In fact, he said, George W.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Bush is one of the best guys. He's got in
- 10:55Speaker 1: the guard one of the best pilots he's ever had.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Rather refused to put that on the air. That's when
- 11:00Speaker 1: it changed, and Rather began that era of total fake news.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Recruited some of the worst people in the world. He
- 11:07Speaker 1: was running pretty much running the CBS News and that
- 11:09Speaker 1: leads to sixty Minutes going corrupt and Scott Pelly and
- 11:15Speaker 1: expect Leslie Stall to be gone pretty soon. Hey, she's
- 11:17Speaker 1: eighty five. It's enough eighty five years old. Expect her
- 11:21Speaker 1: to be gone at some point. So I read to
- 11:24Speaker 1: the Pelly statement. Here Variety, you know, a Variety, the
- 11:29Speaker 1: show business magazine, very slanted, left wing. Here's the headline,
- 11:33Speaker 1: CBS News gutted sixty minutes on air. Team, Can the
- 11:38Speaker 1: show really go on? Yeah, it'll be on this Sunday,
- 11:43Speaker 1: it beyond every Sundays, gonna be just what kind of
- 11:46Speaker 1: really go on? Of course it can go on. You
- 11:49Speaker 1: can do it without fake news. It is possible. Here's
- 11:52Speaker 1: a guy who's in the media world, broadcasting guy. He's
- 11:58Speaker 1: not in the news business, in the entertainment. I don't
- 12:01Speaker 1: want to say who it is, friend of mine. This
- 12:04Speaker 1: is on his Facebook, he writes, two hundred and fifty
- 12:08Speaker 1: years of a free press was nice. But with Ellis
- 12:12Speaker 1: and his owner, the party's over. Yeah, we have no
- 12:14Speaker 1: more free press. These people believe this stuff. They get
- 12:18Speaker 1: themselves all worked up. He writes. It was another backroom
- 12:22Speaker 1: deal among the cabal of billionaires, and those with their
- 12:25Speaker 1: eyes on the ball could see it playing out, along
- 12:28Speaker 1: with the Colbert thing, the continuing attacks against Disney, the
- 12:32Speaker 1: attempt to silence Kimmel. Next stop unless somebody jumps in,
- 12:36Speaker 1: Allison will be owning Warner Brothers and CNN. And as
- 12:40Speaker 1: for you and the Maga crowd, assuming you can assimilate
- 12:43Speaker 1: all these words, they convince themselves that anybody for Trump
- 12:47Speaker 1: is uneducated, dumb, can't talk, can't think. Before you post
- 12:51Speaker 1: an opinion, you consider the facts that over half a century,
- 12:55Speaker 1: sixty minutes was the top rated show of all programs
- 12:59Speaker 1: on TV. Yeah that's true. Yeah, sixty million, eighty million
- 13:04Speaker 1: people will watch it. Well, now it's four million, so
- 13:08Speaker 1: it's a bit of a difference. So you know, when
- 13:09Speaker 1: you've got sixty million people watching, you can charge this
- 13:12Speaker 1: much for the commercials. When you got four million, you
- 13:15Speaker 1: can charge eh, maybe this much. That's it. And the
- 13:19Speaker 1: ratings are down ninety percent. I don't know anything anywhere
- 13:23Speaker 1: and broadcasting where you could have your ratings down ninety
- 13:27Speaker 1: percent over ten years and not have management make some changes.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I have never heard of that in the history of broadcasting.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So you realize how nobody in the world has ever
- 13:39Speaker 1: taken themselves as seriously as Scott Pelly. Boy does he
- 13:43Speaker 1: take himself seriously? And remember that Jim Acosta, who they
- 13:47Speaker 1: threw the hell out of CNN, talk about taking yourself seriously.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And make no mistake, they don't care about the ratings.
- 13:53Speaker 2: They don't care about making money. This is an ideological
- 13:56Speaker 2: and partisan political project on the part of the Ellisons,
- 14:00Speaker 2: the Trump friendly Ellisons who now control Paramount, who, by
- 14:03Speaker 2: the way, are trying to take control of WBD and
- 14:06Speaker 2: CNN and turn it into this giant media conglomerate that
- 14:11Speaker 2: will essentially act like a state media organization in support
- 14:15Speaker 2: of Donald Trump.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah. First of all, as we said, the new owner,
- 14:18Speaker 1: David Ellison is not a political guy. He's not a Republican,
- 14:21Speaker 1: he's not anything. He's no interest in politics. His father's
- 14:24Speaker 1: Larry Ellison. He is I don't know if he's a Republican,
- 14:27Speaker 1: but he is friends with the president. But and Barry
- 14:30Speaker 1: Weiss is a Democrat, not a Trump supporter. She's a Democrat,
- 14:34Speaker 1: but a normal common sense Bill Clinton sort of a Democrat. Hey,
- 14:39Speaker 1: we'll take some calls next. Jimmy Faylor will be with
- 14:42Speaker 1: us in a few minutes. We'll take some calls next.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
