- 0:03All right, it is Wednesday morning and I had to get my butt
- 0:08off the couch because his coffee with Kenny woke me up.
- 0:14So Max Verstappen, the guy that won all the Formula One races
- 0:20this year in the Red Bull card, dominated.
- 0:22Hell of a guy. But my opinion is this, I I feel
- 0:28like he's starting to get a little full of himself.
- 0:34But I but I mean that in a in a in a good way.
- 0:37He he's starting to get confident talking, right?
- 0:40Because now he's the man, right, Kind of like our guys.
- 0:44You know in the day if you were Jeff Gordon or you were Rusty
- 0:48Wallace or you were Dale Senior and you want it all and you know
- 0:53NASCAR made you part of everything.
- 0:55You got confident. You're the man.
- 0:57I'm going to tell you everything what I think.
- 0:59So that's what's happening with Max Verstappen right now over
- 1:03there at Formula One. I'm putting my coffee down
- 1:07South. So anyway, comes out a little
- 1:14article today, this morning on this Wednesday morning, that Max
- 1:17says if Formula One continues to be too much, show too much glitz
- 1:25and glamour, I'll retire, he said.
- 1:28There's other things in life, you know.
- 1:31Now I want to comment on that. I got to repeat it because I
- 1:36know some of some of you are like me.
- 1:38You're like, what the? Oh, let me rewind that.
- 1:40Max Verstappen, who dominated this year, won all the races
- 1:44except for a couple of them, have not seen anything like that
- 1:47in a while. Of course we have because in
- 1:50Formula One it goes like that, like Lewis Hamilton, none of
- 1:55those guys went nine or ten, they all went 20.
- 1:59It's true. It's like that because it's yes,
- 2:03the drivers are everything, but it's about the car, right?
- 2:07It's it's like I talked to Dale Senior one day when he was alive
- 2:12and I and Senior kept coming from the back to the front and
- 2:16he won the Bud Shootout and I said something to Senior about
- 2:20it and he said, well, it's because I got a good horse to
- 2:23ride. Senior brings up a good point.
- 2:27You know what, when you married, you know Mark Martin, Dale
- 2:31Senior, Jeff Gordon, all those great drivers together.
- 2:36If you're Daytona Teledagon and you got a fast car, you ride it
- 2:40because at those tracks that's what it was about.
- 2:43It was about a fast vehicle. So Earnhardt's right.
- 2:46If you got a fast horse. OK, so respond right here.
- 2:51Who wins the horse race? Who wins the Kentucky Derby, the
- 2:54horse or the jockey? Earnhardt said The horse wins
- 2:59the race. US racers agree.
- 3:01So like I said, when you put, you know, in Formula One, if you
- 3:05put all those drivers together, I think the Red Bull car was
- 3:11that fast. And that's why I think in
- 3:13Formula One you see these guys rattle off 1520 wins a year.
- 3:18Happens all the time. Lewis Hamilton was doing it now,
- 3:21Max for staffing. So anyway, get to the point.
- 3:24Herman Verstappen says Formula One, if it continues to get too
- 3:30showy, he's going to quit and do other stuff.
- 3:35Well hold on now Max. Easy to say.
- 3:39Now that you've made fifty $100 million a year, whatever the
- 3:42hell it is and your domination station, you're you're, you're
- 3:46getting it done. So that's like, that's like, you
- 3:51know, you grow up as a kid, you don't have a pot to piss in, and
- 3:54then all of a sudden one day you become, you know, a millionaire.
- 3:59You know, you, you look at things differently.
- 4:01So here's my take. Max has got hundreds of millions
- 4:06of dollars, probably now because I know the kind of money Formula
- 4:10One drivers make. So in Formula One, you don't,
- 4:13you don't make that. I don't you don't make $20
- 4:15million, you they're up in like $100 million range because they
- 4:19run a different country every week.
- 4:22Remember they were in Vegas like 2 weeks ago and and they just
- 4:26got done running Dubai. So they run, they put those cars
- 4:29up in a shipping container, put them in an airplane.
- 4:33I mean it's the big boys budgets are $500 million a year or more.
- 4:41So I am bringing this subject up, and here's why.
- 4:47Because that's the way sports are right now.
- 4:52I'm going to call you fans out. All of you fans don't like
- 4:56normal football anymore. You don't like normal baseball.
- 5:00You don't like normal hockey. You don't like normal racing.
- 5:04The fans are the issue here. Not not Formula One.
- 5:09The fans like this phone I'm using right now.
- 5:12Now, listen, we're all guilty. I'm just bringing up the
- 5:14subject. Respond right here.
- 5:17Can fans watch the sport anymore?
- 5:21Or do you start tweaking and you got to get on your phone and
- 5:23then you got to go up and instead of getting a beer,
- 5:26you're going to hang out somewhere Because you want to
- 5:28talk to your your, your friends and you want to complain about
- 5:32the the Wi-Fi in this stadium or this arena.
- 5:35While while the race is going on, while the football game is
- 5:39going on, Look at your stadium, look at your arena right now.
- 5:44That's what they're doing. They know that.
- 5:47You go down to your seats for a little bit.
- 5:49You act like you're a fan, take the picture of you and your
- 5:51people there. Then you, you go up to the, you
- 5:54know, the walkway. And then you start, you know,
- 5:57drinking or doing whatever it is you all do, fans or people.
- 6:02Right now you think I'm a DD. Hell, you all are worse because
- 6:08that's the way all sports are now.
- 6:12Nobody watches the sport. Now listen, they watch the
- 6:16sport, but they can't do both at the same time.
- 6:19So the reason all sports have become entertainment venues is
- 6:25because of all of you. You know, they put the Wi-Fi in
- 6:29for you. You now, you complained that the
- 6:31Wi-Fi is not good. You know, lap 150 of the Daytona
- 6:34500 you get on your phone while they're fighting for the lead.
- 6:38What? Oh, he took the lead.
- 6:39Oh, hold on, let me post this. Right, right.
- 6:43Respond right here. Who's on their cell phones
- 6:46during all sports activities because y'all post all the
- 6:49videos. I see them all.
- 6:51I see all your videos while the sport is going on.
- 6:54So here's the bottom line with this story.
- 6:58All sports are going show now because of you.
- 7:03Because if they go, hey, come to the football game, you won't
- 7:06come. But if you say Taylor Swift's
- 7:08going to be there, sold out, standing room only all over
- 7:12national TV, right? Football is getting to where it
- 7:16cannot stand on its own two legs.
- 7:18But if you say Taylor Swift going to be at the Chiefs game,
- 7:21sold out, standing room only, crowd on feet, I win right
- 7:28there, right? Because I just reminded you so.
- 7:31I know football's the biggest sport there is.
- 7:33But so, Matt, here's my message to Max Verstappen.
- 7:37Max, it's happening everywhere, buddy.
- 7:41It's all about show anymore in the garage area at a NASCAR
- 7:44event. We still to this day believe
- 7:47it's about the car, which it is. But these promoters, these
- 7:52owners, you know, it's like us holding this downtown Chicago
- 7:56race or racing on a football field.
- 7:58At the start of our race season in 2024, we're going to be on a
- 8:02football field for the LA Coliseum, right?
- 8:07And if we don't convene, you continue putting on a show.
- 8:10People don't believe in the sport, the raw sport anymore.
- 8:13Raw sports are, they're the thing of the past.
- 8:17So I'm in the pits. I get it.
- 8:20And I think a lot of the athletes are are understanding
- 8:23it now. So, all right, well, that's my
- 8:26opinion. I think.
- 8:26I think Max Verstappen is going to understand that all sports
- 8:31are show now. Look at the World of Outlaws.
- 8:34It's the World of Outlaws, often imitated, never duplicate
- 8:39fireworks. You know it's all a show.
- 8:43It's real in the pits to us, but it's a show everywhere else, all
- 8:48right.
