Lafayette Tire Shop Fire Breaks Out | Lafayette Louisiana News
A fire erupted at Lafayette Tire Shop early Wednesday, sending thick smoke billowing and forcing firefighters to retreat as the building began collapsing. Hidden between floors, the blaze ripped through the roof, devouring the top level and collapsing onto the first floor. Thirty-nine firefighters battled it for two hours before control was regained. With extensive structural damage, investigators won’t be able to pinpoint the cause anytime soon—safety checks and access will delay the probe for weeks.
