- 1:43the brief. In City Watch, Sacramento County agriculture
- 1:48is proving it's about more than just what comes
- 1:52out of the ground. The county's newly released
- 1:54crop and livestock report says agricultural agriculture
- 1:58generates a gross. production value of more than
- 2:02$555 million in 2025, up about 2 .6 % from the
- 2:09year before. Wine grapes remain Sacramento County's
- 2:12number one commodity, valued at more than $164
- 2:18million, followed by processed tomatoes, milk,
- 2:21pears, aquaculture, and nursery stock. But this
- 2:27year, the county also took a wider look at the
- 2:30agricultural's overall economic impact. Using
- 2:33the latest complete economic data from 2024,
- 2:37agriculture, food processing, and related activities
- 2:40contributed nearly $1 .2 billion to the Sacramento
- 2:45County economy. That works out to more than $3
- 2:50million a day. And the industry supported nearly
- 2:557000 local jobs with both direct employment and
- 3:00related economic activity as are included in
- 3:04those numbers. County officials say the diversity
- 3:07of local agriculture from grapes and tomatoes
- 3:10to rice, cattle and aquaculture also help make
- 3:14industry more resilient when individual markets
- 3:17struggle. The full report is available through
