  [SPEAKER_02]: They were greeted at the Nuke Airport by cheering supporters and then honored at a celebration attended by hundreds of people at the city's cultural center.

  [SPEAKER_02]: While Nielsen assured the crowd that their land would neither be taken nor bought.

  [SPEAKER_02]: After nearly two years of tension and certainty and relentless speculation about Greenland's future, the people gathered there believed their leaders had it deep preserved, grandlantic, self-determination, while at the same time securing the protection from the most powerful military on the planet.

  [SPEAKER_02]: The agreement was frankly a classic win-win win, right, a stunning example of the art of the deal.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Under this agreement, Denmark retains sovereignty over the largest island on the planet.

  [SPEAKER_02]: And United States now has permanent military access to the island to basing, to overflight rights.

  [SPEAKER_02]: The U.S. has now authorized to expand the B2FIC space space that's already operating in Greenland's northwestern coast.

  [SPEAKER_02]: And Grant's American aircraft and vessels broad access throughout Greenland, including

  [SPEAKER_02]: Denmark may retain the title, but America has secured the keys necessary to defend the northern entrance to our hemisphere.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Greenland sits a stride, the Arctic approaches to North America and anchors the western edge of the Greenland, Iceland, United Kingdom Gap, the maritime corridor through which Russian submarines and surface vessels must pass to enter the North Atlantic.

  [SPEAKER_02]: Its northern location also makes it ideal for detecting ballistic missiles, monitoring space, communicating with satellites, and supporting President Trump's proposed golden dome missile defense system.
