Transcript
- 0:18The Glory podcast trying to catch Dak to talk about how much money he lost
- 0:23on Saturday to the Maryland Terrapins by betting on the Huskers on the road.
- 0:31Yeah, let's just say I bet on the Huskers. They didn't cover.
- 0:35That's all you want to say on that. I text you that morning,
- 0:39I said, it's outrageous that five and a half one underdogs and you know
- 0:43what, well they lose by twenty What do I text you? Bet?
- 0:46Man? You said they're on the road. Bad bet exactly? It was
- 0:53so bad. I'm so I'm I've watched like four full basket start to finish
- 1:00full basketball games, four losses. I don't even know how that's possible.
- 1:03We've only lost five times. And you've probably watched every road game, haven't
- 1:07you. I have, because those are others that are always on TV.
- 1:14It's it, it does, it continues to be. I call it a
- 1:19mystery, I guess, or or there's there's some reasoning behind it. And
- 1:25travel let's do let's do a statistical analysis. You know they say defense travels
- 1:30three pointers, don't Well, I guess I was gonna look at it from
- 1:34the flip side as far as what does our defense give up and that is
- 1:41true, pins and where do teams usually shoot better? I hope it is.
- 1:51I mean again, Austin puts you on it, do a statistical analysis
- 1:55on it, and give us, give us some actual proof. But I
- 1:59mean, I think that's something that that's a theory out there that college basketball
- 2:02analysts say, you know, you do you shoot better at home because it's
- 2:06your home court and you're used to the environment, You're used to the crowd,
- 2:09you're used to the rims, all of that. So yeah, yeah,
- 2:13I think I think that is some there's some legitimacy there. I'm with
- 2:19that take, but it just it does and and it's basketball season and there's
- 2:23not much football going on, so here we are talking Husker basketball in a
- 2:25year that that looks like it has some promise and hope to it. But
- 2:31yet at the same time, it's super frustrating that we can't win a road
- 2:38game. Were the bubbliest of a bubble team. There was one point that
- 2:45game I need you were screwed is when that white guy came out the bench
- 2:46and yeah, h's two straight threes. Announcers like, oh yeah, he
- 2:52has scoring five games, like awesome bench averages. Seven points in a game
- 2:57when this dude's ripped off twelve in the last three minutes, and they are
- 3:02they were the worst three point percent and shooting team in the Big Ten.
- 3:07And that that was the talk at the beginning of the broadcast when we were
- 3:09up twelve to two and we were shooting lights out and then things just went
- 3:15completely downhill from there and the game got out of hand, and that that
- 3:20was obviously Saturday's game. But that's not an uncommon theme that we've seen from
- 3:24this team on the road, and it does. I mean, I think
- 3:30a big part of it is defending the three point line. Now you might
- 3:36ask this coaching staff and they might say, that's just part of our system.
- 3:39And I do think there are tons of advantages from taking away the paint,
- 3:46especially against good teams. I mean, I think that's that is a
- 3:50very I mean, I like it. I like that thought concept. And
- 3:55that's also coming off of the Lady Oh doing the opposite and not being able
- 4:00to keep a team out of the paint. But like, I think that,
- 4:04I think that makes sense. Like the problem with that is you do
- 4:11give teams like Maryland that teams that may not shoot at great or low average
- 4:15teams in general wide open shots if they do it right and scheme it right
- 4:19on the offensive end. And I do think on the road that makes a
- 4:23difference. If the other team's making more shots than you are, obviously it
- 4:28gives no a better chance to win. Gosh, they were hitting anything they
- 4:32wanted. It was crazy, I mean, but like they were getting open
- 4:36shots, but they were also hitting some shots as like that doesn't fall seven
- 4:42T ten. They came in shooting three, right, and yeah, you
- 4:47can look at those numbers, but I just think our defense does give up
- 4:51more wide open shots, and so I mean, yeah, I agree with
- 4:55you. Not all of them were wide open, but they were just getting
- 4:59more shots. I think I saw a stat that said opponents against Nebraska are
- 5:02averaging like twelve point three threes per game, which I mean, that's a
- 5:09lot. Like we lead the Big Ten with like twelve some threes a game,
- 5:15and we're the opposite by shooting threes. So it's funny because that was
- 5:18Hoiberg's philosophy coming in, was kind of let it fly, and you know,
- 5:26she a lot of three spread it. And we've seen a bunch of
- 5:29different styles from Hoiberg where we I think we've all kind of agreed that this
- 5:33year's style is it is working probably the best offensively, but it's not necessarily
- 5:39up Temple. And I think that defense strategy works better when you're hitting your
- 5:44shots. I mean we yes, when you're making shots. We only scored
- 5:49fifty points, like are we weren't able to set our defense at all.
- 5:55And so when you already have a bad perimeter defense and then you can't set
- 5:58your bad perimeter defense, you're screwed. Yeah, I mean that that.
- 6:03Yeah, if you can if you can make shots, it's gonna help you
- 6:06on the defensive end. If you can get stops on the defensive end,
- 6:10it's going to give you confidence on the offensive end to score. Just talking
- 6:15about the ebbs and flows of of of a basketball game, so that you
- 6:19mentioned the bubble Austin, and how were the bubbliest of bubble teams before the
- 6:27Maryland game? Coming off our wins before that against Ohio State Northwestern, I
- 6:31mean we were, we were a solemn nine seed. I mean it was
- 6:38up there now the Maryland loss, and I think the way we lost put
- 6:42us right back there on that bubble line. But I mean before that,
- 6:46you and the Maryland. You're you're you're feeling pretty dang good. But that's
- 6:51gonna be the way it is the rest of the year. Win a road
- 6:56game one or two, doesn't matter who it is, We're gonna be okay.
- 7:02Yeah. I think we'll still make it. I really do. But
- 7:08gosh, we are like the epitome of what you'd expect, Like this team
- 7:11has greatness in them, but they are so bad every other night that people
- 7:17walking on the bubble. Yeah, they I think they were like two teams
- 7:25above the last team out or something like that. I saw to day and
- 7:28they were not even on that line going to the American in the Maryland game.
- 7:30They dropped big time after that one. It was really rough. And
- 7:34the rankings continue or the metrics, I guess i'll say, continue to not
- 7:40like us. I don't think the Big ten guys is great. I mean,
- 7:45well you talked a little bit about that. I don't think from what
- 7:47the Big Tens normally is, it's down. Now that being said, I
- 7:53still think they're going to put six, seven, eight teams in the Big
- 7:58Ten. I mean they're just going to so h you stay above that line,
- 8:03we're probably gonna get in. And that ball is winning. I mean,
- 8:07you look at the rest of our schedule. Here, we do play
- 8:09Michigan twice, who's towards the bottom of the conference. We play Rutgers and
- 8:13Penn State again, we play Minnesota again. We play a lot of these
- 8:16teams that that we've lost to already, that we've lost there, but they're
- 8:22towards the bottom of the Big So there's a lot of again hope and and
- 8:28still there. Now, I say that because the next few games are gonna
- 8:33be tough. I mean, the guys are gonna be tough, which at
- 8:37home, then we go to Illinois, then we go to Northwestern Northwestern Tony
- 8:41and you guys watched that battle their butts off against Purdue. I mean,
- 8:48it's gonna be tough here, and I can easily I mean there there's there's
- 8:50there's a chance that we can lose all three and people are gonna we're gonna
- 8:56be out. We're gonna be out of the tournament, not even the bubble
- 8:58anymore, and like Rightfley, So but you get to keep in mind the
- 9:03rest of our schedule, like we're easily going to have a chance to earn
- 9:05our way back in there. Yeah, it's gonna be close. Like,
- 9:11if we go five hundred the rest of the year, we're probably in.
- 9:16I was, I was just adding this up. You've been out rebounded by
- 9:18thirty three rebounds on the road and that's counting rebound out rebounding KSE State by
- 9:24twenty So wow, yeah, we've freaking killed k State. Great fine,
- 9:31Dak great, fine, look at you who Well, they don't box out
- 9:37all It's itacks me off watching him on the road. They don't box out.
- 9:41I don't know what what they're doing. Renk matches raised his hands up
- 9:45and doesn't do anything. Yeah, it's not good. It's not good.
- 9:50That that I think is a big issue. The other one that I want
- 9:54to mention on the road that's hurting us is turnovers. And Maryland is one
- 10:01of the best, if not the best, defensive team in the conference,
- 10:05especially at forcing turnovers. So give them credit there, but you cannot turn
- 10:09the ball over on the road because that is what teams thrive on, is
- 10:15that momentum, and if you start going and spiraling down, it's gonna get
- 10:18your beat. We continue to do that, now, all that is inconsistency,
- 10:26and especially from a turnover standpoint, there's to me one very and I'm
- 10:33not this isn't blaming anybody, but just one very obvious answer for a lot
- 10:39of that, and that that being that we don't have a like true point
- 10:46guard on this roster. And that is not saying DeMarcus Lawrence is a bad
- 10:54point guard. He does some good things, but he's like not what you
- 10:56think of your typical point guard on a Division one Power five team. And
- 11:03that consistency, the leadership, the all of that comes from having someone that
- 11:11takes care of the team for you and and games on the road, like
- 11:13that's one piece that we're lacking. And and then on top of that,
- 11:20who's our go to guy? Like you guys tell me when we when we
- 11:24need to, when we need someone to step up? It? I think
- 11:30it is. Yeah, it is. Whether it should be or not,
- 11:33I don't know, but that's who it is. I mean, that's the
- 11:37pros and cons of having a very balanced team. CJ. Wilcher. I
- 11:43mean, all these guys have said have made big plays. Obviously Mask is
- 11:46up for thirty four or whatever it was the one game or something. It's
- 11:50just we have several guys. So yeah, there's perks of being very very
- 11:54balanced and I agree with you. Casey is kind of that guy. But
- 11:58at the same time, Case's five ft eleven, Like, if you defend
- 12:01him the right way, you can easily shut him down, as teams have
- 12:07shown to do, especially on the road. So to me, just again
- 12:11that you get a point guard around this team that that is, even if
- 12:16they're just a game manager, that brings in brains everybody in and that helps
- 12:22a lot when you go on the road to a hostile environment in Big ten,
- 12:26which, like we said, we're gonna need to win a couple of
- 12:30those, which don't you have a real point guy on the roster. But
- 12:37he gambled or something like that. Yeah, Uless, Yeah, I mean,
- 12:41I mean he never actually ever played. He got so yes, and
- 12:46no, ideally Sam Hoyburg would be our point guard where he's too small,
- 12:50Well, yeah he's not. He's not. I mean again, JaMarcus Lawrence.
- 12:54He's is not what you think of as a as a true point guard.
- 13:00He's more presence, that's for sure. Does he does he run point
- 13:03most of the time? Or is it Bryce Williams? It's usually him,
- 13:05it's usually Marcus Bryce talk to Yeah, it is. It's just a very
- 13:13balanced roster and and there's a lot of pros and and there's some cons to
- 13:18that as well. So again I think where we're at, where are we
- 13:22We're We're a very inconsistent bubble team right now. But that's what bubble teams
- 13:30are, right, That is exactly every year what bubble teams are believes of
- 13:35the bubbles. You gotta win tomorrow because I don't see any shot in hell
- 13:39you bet ill and noois on the road. Well, and see that's where
- 13:43it's gonna be hard for. I mean, Husker fans and and bracketologies and
- 13:48and the metrics, they're all gonna respond to it. If we lose three
- 13:50in a row, we will, But you cannot. You can't look at
- 13:54that and say our season's over. We're horrible. Like, no, disagree.
- 14:01I know we mentioned it earlier, But look at the rest of our
- 14:03schedule and what we have, and if we can string out wins at the
- 14:07end of the year against teams that are towards the bottom of the conference,
- 14:11will be fine. We played Michigan at home, Penn State at home,
- 14:13Minnesota at home, Ruggers at home. That's four games that if we are
- 14:20a tournament team we will win, like we just will. And we play
- 14:22at Michigan, at Ohio State, at Indiana, who we beat Ohio State,
- 14:28Michigan towards the bottom of the conference. In Indiana we beat them too,
- 14:33so we could win now after Illinois, like every one of those games
- 14:37is a winnable game that we have played and beat, a team that we've
- 14:43played and beat, or a team that we have led late and then blown
- 14:45a big lead late. Correct. So that's where people just you just can't
- 14:50give up, I guess, And I'm saying that because I kind of gave
- 14:54up on them after the which game was that the Ruggers loss? I think
- 14:58I said they're done, they're completely dope, and then we go on and
- 15:01we went to home. So we'll see. It's just it'll it'll be an
- 15:07interesting February here with Nebraska basketball, and we'll see where we end up.
- 15:15Well, I think go ahead, Dak. I think you're playing the best
- 15:18team in the Big Ten tomorrow, Wisconsin. I think Wisconsin. Have you
- 15:26guys, have you guys looked at the line yet? Because I saw it.
- 15:28You guys seen a line yet? Don't look at I haven't. It's
- 15:33at Nebraska. I haven't looked, but Wisconsin four and a half, I
- 15:39would guess six and a half. Wisconsin one and a half? What,
- 15:43holy shit, one and a half? The number sixteen country coming to Lincoln.
- 15:50There is no reason it should be that low. Actually, as I'm
- 15:54checking now, it's down to one. They're starting to an I was on
- 16:00the road, it'd be Wisconsin by fifteen and a half. It'd be a
- 16:03lot. So I thought that was interesting. I mean, that just tells
- 16:10you what betters do think of this team. And yeah, I mean number
- 16:17sixteen, sixteen is coming to Lincoln and basically it's a pick them game.
- 16:22That is insane there. That's wow. I the casino tonight. Yeah,
- 16:29you're right, I'm dis blaming Wisconsin. If that's the case. The Peacock
- 16:33announcer said, if the tournament's playing PBA Nebraska being national champions, that's probably
- 16:41we're gonna be close. Potentially could be an Omaha. I don't want to
- 16:45be an Oma. I want to be somewhere else because I'm going, but
- 16:48I don't know. I just don't want to go to Omaha. I'd rather
- 16:51go somewhere different. That's fair, that's fair. But if it isn't Oma.
- 16:56There'll be a lot of Husker fits. Yeah, we ever made the
- 17:00Final four? Him going the title four. We can go in Oklahoma Go's
- 17:07this year? Yeah, dak Or Sinners. What's going on there? I
- 17:12don't know if you guys have watched last night was one of the worst games
- 17:15I've ever watched my life. They both are in the bonus. They're in
- 17:19the bonus with fifteen minutes left and second half both of them, so it
- 17:22was just free throws the whole way out. It sucks. They won by
- 17:26twenty, but it sucked after dropping twelve spots in the polls. I remember
- 17:33that. Yeah, I gave up on them after the last game. So
- 17:36there we go. So who do we like nationally? Because right now I
- 17:42saw this yesterday and it trigued me. Did you know I'm fat? Did
- 17:48you know that in Division one college basketball, no team has zero one losses.
- 17:57Everybody has at least two losses on the air, Really, I see
- 18:07no, Houston does have two losses. Yep, everybody has two losses.
- 18:11And I think that's interesting because Purdue loses to Nebraska. I guess what they
- 18:18don't drop like that? That that's what you're saying with a lot of these
- 18:23top teams like Arizona right now, guys, Arizona is number three in the
- 18:27country and in the net rankings, and they've they have five losses. Hmm.
- 18:37Now I think it the ap there are eleven but your top teams right
- 18:41now, Yukon, Purdue, North Carolina who just lost Houston. I mean,
- 18:47they have two losses. It's interesting. So I mean, that's why
- 18:49Wisconsin said at number six. And and it's not like Wisconsin was overly impressive
- 18:55when we played them on the road. Now they beat us, yes,
- 18:57but like that's that's where college basketball is at right now. It is very
- 19:03spread out. There is not top heavy, and I think that bodes well
- 19:10for I mean even teams like us, who I mean the tournament teams.
- 19:14It's wide open and it's not like you have to, you know, be
- 19:18the best for a seven game series. It's one game. And I think
- 19:22the tournament's wide open this year. So here's what we're gonna do. And
- 19:26I didn't tell you we're gonna do this, So it's gonna be very little
- 19:30thought. Give me a favorite, a mid tier, and a long shot.
- 19:34Right now that you see the long shot cannot be in the top twenty
- 19:38five. Your mid tier can be your favorite on your winner right now.
- 19:45I don't know how much college basketball you guys watch outside of our teams,
- 19:49but as of right now, on February first, I've actually got an int
- 19:59college bastballs year. Some years I don't. It's been good. Then that's
- 20:02gonna have the money picks. I'll go, honestly the hardest one. Well,
- 20:12you guys are all go because I've thought about this a little bit.
- 20:15So one team that I've really liked watching, I know we have the same
- 20:22middle tier one we might we could. Yeah, my favorite team that I
- 20:29like watching right now, and they're a team that well maybe they're not even
- 20:37a middle maybe there you could call them middle tier, but it's what happened
- 20:41to Yukon last year. They're struggling right now and I just mentioned them earlier.
- 20:47Arizona I think is going to be fine in March, and I think
- 20:51they were a top three team early in the year. They're working through some
- 20:56kinks right now, but they're gonna be a it could be a four seed,
- 21:00three or four, but they're my top favorite team here. But I
- 21:06think could win it all and people are gonna overlook them. And I think
- 21:10it only helps the mid tier. This is where I really don't know.
- 21:18I didn't have a great one, but I will no, I'll go here.
- 21:26This where all go they can be, they can be. I'm gonna
- 21:30go Auburn my big tier. I really like Bruce Pearl and I think,
- 21:38you know, tough coach. I just think he demands a lot of his
- 21:42players. They're sixteen to four right now, ranked sixteen, but I like
- 21:49watching him too. I just I think they play hard. Now do they
- 21:53have the talent this year? I don't know. I don't know for sure.
- 21:56I've only watched a couple of their games, like all that are on
- 21:59TV. Long shots just too hard. Should I don't even know, don't
- 22:07really have a great one. I want to FAU would have been a good
- 22:11one, but they're not. They're they're ranked, so can't do them.
- 22:17I'm just gonna throw one out. There's someone that's receiving votes right now that
- 22:22is normally around, but they're not very good this year. Gonzaga. I
- 22:26was like balling them too. They're receiving goals in top twenty five, yep
- 22:32four, what they're not even their bracket projections give me Gonzaga. They're gonna
- 22:41get in sneak in. I think my UH is our favorite, the favorite
- 22:48we expect to win it all, our favorite team to watch win it all.
- 22:53All right, I'm gonna stick with Kansas. I think they're just too
- 22:56talented. I think they've had a couple of bad games, but they've got
- 23:03I think they have one of the better rosters. They kicked as last night
- 23:07they did well. We'll see how it goes. They have a little bit
- 23:11of a gauntlet here if they play Houston Baylor Texas Tech Oklahoma by U Baylor
- 23:17Houston again, so we'll see. By the time they get to the Big
- 23:21twelve tournament, they should be pretty well battle tested. My mid tier one,
- 23:25which I thought you were gonna pick Iowa ste that's a good one,
- 23:30okay. And then my long shot, I'm actually big ten bias gonna throw
- 23:37out Northwestern all right. I don't mind it, boo booie. I think
- 23:48they're actually good enough that they're they're barely outside of the top. Like they've
- 23:52been ranked. Have they been ranked this year? They haven't been close,
- 23:56right, I think they've been close. It might have been early on.
- 23:59It might have been early, but I think they're actually good enough to make
- 24:02like a like a surprising Elite eight run or maybe Big ten is always sucks
- 24:06in the term. That's why it's hard to pick a Big ten teams.
- 24:08I know, Dak, who you got my favorite? I'll go North Carolina.
- 24:15Even though they lost last night. I still think they're really experienced and
- 24:21well Baycott's been there about fifteen years. Probably our J. Davis is fun
- 24:26to watch. They're on ESPN all the time, so I mean, I
- 24:32do like watching North Carolina in Saturday. That's gonna be held. I don't
- 24:37think Duke's that good this year, but so then I'm big tier. Oh
- 24:42boy, let's go Oklahoma, South Carolina, Carolina. They just beat Kentucky
- 24:52and Tennessee on the road back to back games. I don't know how they're
- 24:53not ranked. They did Tennessee to good Old on deep plom Tannasey could be
- 25:02a good favorite too. Oh a long shot. Oh, let's go.
- 25:11Just do it, Dak. You know you want to do it. I
- 25:17know you want to give it to the Hoscars. No, no, I
- 25:19really don't. If they can't win on the road, how you gonna win
- 25:23in neutral? Oh? The road? Hey, we killed k State.
- 25:30Yeah, Oh, let's go. I'm looking at freaking okay, let's go
- 25:40Texas Tech guns up. Yep, there's some there's some teams right there to
- 25:48throw out. We'll see if we're right March I love it. Well,
- 25:52no, now, we'll follow these teams out on a lot. I think
- 25:56that's probably true. All right, let's move on Super Bowls coming up week
- 26:03and a half. How much mine did you lose this weekend on NFL games?
- 26:10Dak zero zero? Hunter? I didn't bet this weekend. Oh.
- 26:18I didn't like that. I didn't like either the Lions they weren't. Yeah,
- 26:25I don't know, I I think actually, I take that back.
- 26:30I did bet a money line parlay with Chiefs and the Lions. Like,
- 26:33I didn't throw much on it. That's rough. Lions are twenty four to
- 26:37seven. I was feeling pretty good about myself. But yeah, we know
- 26:42how that ended up. So two good games. Uh. As you know,
- 26:48living in Nebraska, a lot of Chiefs fans. What do we think
- 26:52about our fellow Chiefs from Kansas City just down the road, Like what one?
- 26:57I guess I think I might know, But are you guys Chiefs fans?
- 27:03Let's put it that way do you root for them? Some people that
- 27:07I know are just anti because they're annoyed by all the Chiefs fan around.
- 27:11It's like, where are your guys heads at on the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 27:14I definitely, well, I can say I got gritted on going out of
- 27:21the stadium. I don't like them. And you're a big Vikings fan,
- 27:29but the Chiefs, honestly, like, are you rooting against them actively and
- 27:36in games like this week last weekend? Yes, silently, as my wife
- 27:42is a Chiefs fan, but I knew that. I here's my thoughts on
- 27:49the Chiefs that they're and I'm like this with the Royals too. They're not
- 27:52my my top dog, but because they're close and I don't I'm not a
- 27:59die hard, but I do probably root for them when they're playing. I'm
- 28:03not rooting against them to say the least. And watching this weekend like I
- 28:08had no reason to root for the Ravens by any means, And so yeah,
- 28:14I was rooting for the Chiefs. And here's why. And I know
- 28:22Patrick Mahomes is, Yeah, he's gonna be one of the top two,
- 28:29if not the greatest of all time. I heard them comparing Mahomes' stats to
- 28:33Brady's stats after the same amount of years in the NFL, And I mean,
- 28:38guys are like spot on and Mahomes is actually a little bit better.
- 28:41The only thing that Mahomes needs is is third ring, which would come this
- 28:45year if he got it, and then they'd be exactly the same on a
- 28:49lot of levels. So yes, he's gonna be one of the greatest of
- 28:55all time. But at the same time, like the dude is a human,
- 29:00like he gets it, like he gets the leadership part, and he
- 29:02gets what it takes to win, and yeah, he's a little goofy and
- 29:07you can laugh at his voice. Guys, their receivers were dog shit this
- 29:12year, like horrible. Did he ever one time publicly come out and talk
- 29:19and say anything about his receivers. Nope. A couple of times got after
- 29:26some refs, okay, and they were very frustrated towards some early part of
- 29:33the second half of the year. I just respect what the guy does.
- 29:37It's the same way that I respect Brady in Belichick. It's the same way
- 29:41why same reason why I respected Alabama unsaved save in all those years guy's greatness.
- 29:48People don't realize what it takes to be great, and Mahomes is so
- 29:52early on in his career and we're kind of seeing it unfold in front of
- 29:59our eyes, and some people are starting to go anti. But Lebron obviously
- 30:03another one like why are we Lebron? Why Lebron is the greatest Ron?
- 30:08Like, again, you either love him or you hate him. But again,
- 30:11I I just I respect people that are great. Is that so I
- 30:17can't root against it? Like? I just can't. I couldn't I acknowledge
- 30:19mahomes greatness. I just I've never liked the Chiefs. I mean, that's
- 30:22that was pre Mahomes, That's that's predated him. Yeah, you can't cheange
- 30:29that. That one. That one's ingrained from middle school and Jane and Gary
- 30:32come to school. Oh the Chiefs right now, and then they freaking blow
- 30:34it and it's the greatest moment of my life. Lebron James becomes an NFL
- 30:40football player and starts playing receiver for the Chiefs. I would probably cheer for
- 30:44the Chiefs. There you go there. I hated his guts. Oh,
- 30:52I like him now, but when he went to the heat, I hate
- 30:56his guts, but would give heart. Now you like Lebron. Well there's
- 31:03he he killed my ass every April. So but I don't. I don't
- 31:11really mind the homes that much, I guess. But Hunter, what you
- 31:15were really saying is you're swifty. Hunh. Yeah, it's exactly exactly word
- 31:21for word. Took it out of my mouth. All right, who do
- 31:25you got? Then? I'm taking the Chiefs, I am. I can't
- 31:30believe. I can't believe they open them up as underdogs like I can't either.
- 31:36The forty nine ers have liked not great for like a week. They
- 31:40and they they've done what they need to do to win games. The Chiefs
- 31:44guys that the Kansas City Chiefs were under or overlooked the whole second half of
- 31:49the year. Nobody talked about them, and that when that happens to teams
- 31:53in any sport, all that does is make you so hungry and want to
- 32:00win even more. You don't have a target on your back. There's no
- 32:02one when the teams come to play and they go, eh, Chiefs are
- 32:07down this year and they're not. They weren't. Their defense is really freaking
- 32:12good. Their offense is down. I mean they scored seventeen points. Guys,
- 32:17what Mahome is literally being a game manager now, like that's what he's
- 32:22doing and that's totally fine, Like, oh yeah, it's just impressive what
- 32:25they've done. And give Andy Andy Reid a ton of credit because that guy
- 32:35he knows the game. When Andy Reid retires, who takes over? Do
- 32:39you think you can poach like a big name coach from another NFL team?
- 32:43They're trying, they they're trying. They're trying to get Belichick or that's the
- 32:47room. We'll see. I know Andy retires if they win, So I'll
- 32:55go Chiefs, give me the Chiefs twenty evan twenty one. That was actually
- 33:05the same line I was going to give. I'll go twenty twenty one.
- 33:08I was not gonna say saying, oh, let's go, Well, guys,
- 33:15if it's a consensus that we all have twenty seven to twenty one,
- 33:17we better be putting heavy money on that that exact score. I'll go low
- 33:23ball chief seventeen fourteen. Whoa, We're we're loaded up on twenty seven to
- 33:30twenty one. That's all I can say. I like that score. If
- 33:34we all three dislike that right now on the on the moment, like mayn
- 33:43so we're all on the Chiefs, All the Chiefs. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:47better quarterback back. Pretty well, we all to get it done. Halftime
- 33:52show. How we feel? Oh? Is it sure? I don't think
- 34:04I haven't been named Usher songs? Yeah, DJ got us falling in love.
- 34:10I couldn't tell you come on da, I cannot tell you one and
- 34:15I'm not loving the club. There you go. It's smack. That is
- 34:23that Usher? I don't know. I don't think so. He's got some
- 34:35newer ones I haven't heard of. Yeah, I don't don't listen to Usher
- 34:42that much. Number one Usher song on this Think of You nineteen ninety four.
- 34:51Wow. So yeah, we get we get some Usher, get some
- 34:57musher for halftime. We get a little bit of time, Dak talk about
- 35:01yourselftics. Let's go wait one. How much time we got here? I
- 35:06want to ask you as one more thing. We got three minutes a minute?
- 35:08What do you did? You guys think Dan Campbell should to kick those
- 35:12field goals are gone for it. I think he was fine doing what he
- 35:15did. He did what he did. They got them that far and they
- 35:16really weren't terrible spots. The run on third and one with one minute left
- 35:22was a bad play. That was the only thing I had an issue with.
- 35:25I I don't, I don't. I don't mind it at all.
- 35:29I think the fumble, the fumble and then the dooint off that face,
- 35:35the helmet, face mast like, Yeah, those were things that happened that
- 35:40just changed the entire the entire swing of the game. We feel you.
- 35:45We feel you here in Nebraska from the Return to Glory podcast. We feel
- 35:51you. We know exactly what happens when you're up twenty four to seven.
- 35:59I don't feel too bad nearing my division. No, I'm okay with Dan
- 36:07Campbell. I'm okay with it. That's what he believes in and good for
- 36:12I mean, stick to it. Like I thought he should have kicked the
- 36:15second one though, to tie it up. I didn't mind the first call,
- 36:19but I didn't mind him either way really that much. But I thought
- 36:22maybe the second one you might kick the tie up. Yeah, do you
- 36:31have update, dak uh Well, the best team in the league. Still,
- 36:37there's really no stopping them. They kicked the ship out of the Pelicans
- 36:44and the Pacers, and now the only way to stop them is Chris stops
- 36:49rolling his ankle every other game. See, that's the bad part. I
- 36:52would find them sitting in the rest of the year. Honestly, that's all
- 36:57we need is for him to get the playoffs healthy. LBA comes down tomorrow.
- 37:01Everything's working out for you guys, though, and be just blew his
- 37:06knee out, not blew it out. But he's getting an MRI and the
- 37:08Bucks hired Doc Rivers choke champion in the playoffs, thank god, Thank god,
- 37:15Austin. Who's LBJ bringing the town? Who's he getting? Who's what?
- 37:22Oh? Who's he getting? Oh? That's a good deadline. I
- 37:25think that they should just stamp pat I really I think they should get rid
- 37:29of him, bringing a better coach. I think they have it there,
- 37:32they really do. They made it to Western Conference Final with the same team.
- 37:39I'm secretly becoming a thunder fan, not not secretly, they're secretly,
- 37:47not secretly, but bet on them coming into the year. The wind toll
- 37:52is gonna hit like halfway through the year. It's gonna be great. Yeah,
- 37:57God, I love the score every time they win. And then when
- 37:59they is the Pistons, I don't hear a thing. No, I didn't
- 38:01want to talk about that. But they didn't beat the Nuggets tonight. So
- 38:06ship shout out, Shout out. Thunder sitting second Western Conference right now,
- 38:12one game behind with the Wolves go Midwest and the Nuggets killing it. I
- 38:17will be attending a Thunder playoff game. Hopefully they play the Lake woh.
- 38:24I've been to two Thunder games in my life and I've only been to two
- 38:28NBA games, so no, I've been to three. I went to the
- 38:30figures. All right, Well, we'll be back here in a couple of
- 38:37weeks, twenty seven to twenty one. Chiefs, put your money on it.
- 38:42Go begrudge if you are but were sooner
