- 2:53Speaker 1: listen to you on our pod and even respond.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Wow, fantastic.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Okay, So without further ado, let's got into the first call, Beatrice.
- 3:02Speaker 2: First one we have this week is from Sarah.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Okay, Hi, ladies, this Canadian raccoon is calling from Vancouver Island.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I just can't get over how happy Janelle seemed with
- 3:17Speaker 3: Cody's apology, because Janelle only left because of Cody's treatment
- 3:24Speaker 3: of the kids. She would have totally stayed and it
- 3:29Speaker 3: was totally working for her if he just was semi
- 3:36Speaker 3: okay to her kids, because she even said something like
- 3:40Speaker 3: that when Christine was leaving, like it's working for her.
- 3:43Speaker 3: So I think her not bringing up at the apology
- 3:48Speaker 3: to or stop anything about the kids is just super
- 3:52Speaker 3: weird to me, since that is what she claims. The
- 3:57Speaker 3: major reason that her beef with Cody is. I don't know,
- 4:02Speaker 3: how do you guys feel?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Hmmm, yeah, I mean, I agree, I was super pissed
- 4:09Speaker 2: off at Janelle during her apology. I thought she was
- 4:13Speaker 2: being way too kind, way too gracious to Cody, and
- 4:18Speaker 2: the fact that she didn't mention the kids at all,
- 4:21Speaker 2: or maybe she did it was edited out, but I
- 4:23Speaker 2: doubt that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It wasn't, because she said in the following episode that
- 4:27Speaker 1: she thought about bringing up the kids and she did.
- 4:30Speaker 1: She trailed off.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and the fact that she didn't ask anything about
- 4:34Speaker 2: that pisses me off because it shows that that's not
- 4:37Speaker 2: really like of the highest priority to her. Sometimes I
- 4:42Speaker 2: think like, maybe she would have stayed if Cody wasn't
- 4:47Speaker 2: so obsessed with Robine.
- 4:49Speaker 1: That's exactly what I was gonna say. Yeah, you hit
- 4:51Speaker 1: the nail on the head. So if his treatment of
- 4:56Speaker 1: the children, which we can presume was going on for
- 4:59Speaker 1: quite some time, wasn't enough to get her to leave,
- 5:02Speaker 1: like during COVID for example, right when he was spending
- 5:05Speaker 1: months away from his family seeing his kids, if that
- 5:08Speaker 1: wasn't enough, then maybe it was the fact that he
- 5:12Speaker 1: was choosing Robin so overtly, like she knew before that.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Obviously during the cul de Sac she knew where he
- 5:19Speaker 1: was and he wasn't over as much, but he was
- 5:21Speaker 1: close enough and she was getting what she needed. But
- 5:24Speaker 1: in flag stuff, he was making a choice, honey exact
- 5:28Speaker 1: to spend his time with Robin. And I wonder if
- 5:31Speaker 1: that's kind of the root of the issue, because she
- 5:35Speaker 1: covered a multitude of his sins, whether that was with
- 5:38Speaker 1: the LLC and the finances, whether it was information based
- 5:43Speaker 1: knowing about the other wives and what was going on
- 5:45Speaker 1: in different relationships, Like she covered for him a lot,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and throughout the entire thing, he was being disrespectful to
- 5:54Speaker 1: his kids and to the other wives. So, like, what
- 5:56Speaker 1: really was it? I do think it was Robin. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: think so. I think she Robin.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I think so too. And she keeps making little comments
- 6:03Speaker 2: here and there that are not like super heavy jabs,
- 6:07Speaker 2: but they're enough to be like, I never want to
- 6:09Speaker 2: see Robin ever again. You know, I'm really glad that
- 6:11Speaker 2: he didn't bring her because I have no interest in
- 6:14Speaker 2: seeing her. Like, I think that was the root of it.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I think if Cody even showed her a little bit
- 6:20Speaker 2: more affection than what he did in Flagstaff, which was
- 6:23Speaker 2: really nothing, she would have ended up staying. She would
- 6:27Speaker 2: have been like, well, it's fine, I don't need to leave.
- 6:29Speaker 2: But I also think that Janelle is such a doormat
- 6:32Speaker 2: and she's kind of passive, very passive, that like when
- 6:36Speaker 2: Christine left, maybe Janelle felt a push to because she's like,
- 6:41Speaker 2: well what am I doing? You know? Like I think
- 6:43Speaker 2: if Christine hadn't been the first one like Janelle would
- 6:45Speaker 2: have stayed for.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I wonder also if gab and Garrison played a role
- 6:51Speaker 1: in her ultimately having to make a decision because it
- 6:54Speaker 1: spun Cody out so much when I believe it was
- 6:58Speaker 1: Garrison who called Robin and said, stop hogging all the
- 7:01Speaker 1: time with my dad. My dad needs to be spending
- 7:04Speaker 1: time in the other houses. And there were some issues
- 7:07Speaker 1: and skirmishes with the boys and Robin and Cody, and
- 7:11Speaker 1: I think that spun him up into some kind of
- 7:13Speaker 1: a rage, making him more angry at Janelle because Janelle's
- 7:17Speaker 1: not getting her kids together, and so he's starting to
- 7:20Speaker 1: act crazy during COVID, and she just couldn't deny it
- 7:23Speaker 1: anymore that he was an atrocious monster of a person, right,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and so she ends up divorcing him. But it's really
- 7:28Speaker 1: because he made it so untenable that she had to otherwise,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I don't know that she would have left.
- 7:33Speaker 4: No, not at all.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And I don't buy her reasoning of like wooll was
- 7:37Speaker 2: because of how he treated my kids, because if it was,
- 7:40Speaker 2: you would have brought it up at the apology, but
- 7:42Speaker 2: you didn't. You were googling him and you were reminiscing
- 7:45Speaker 2: about your rent.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Nothing good on Google, body.
- 7:51Speaker 2: But she was just like, oh my god, yeah we
- 7:53Speaker 2: had something special, Cody, We.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Really had some good times hog Yeah gross, gross. I
- 7:59Speaker 1: hate it me too.
- 8:01Speaker 2: So let us know what your guys' thoughts are below,
- 8:02Speaker 2: if you have anything else to add to that.
- 8:05Speaker 1: And thank you, Sarah. I really want to visit Vancouver,
- 8:07Speaker 1: British Columbia. I hear it's so gorgeous. Yeah, I want
- 8:12Speaker 1: to go, And I hear the food scene is it's
- 8:14Speaker 1: right great. We should go.
- 8:15Speaker 2: That's my old stomping grounds in my gosh.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I'd love to Yeah, all right.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Next one we have is from Stephanie Hi.
- 8:21Speaker 5: B and D Raccoon Stephanie calling from the dumpster that
- 8:25Speaker 5: is California, literal raccoon footprints on my trash can as
- 8:29Speaker 5: we speak. So I'm getting caught up on Sister Wives
- 8:34Speaker 5: and watching like the Cody Apology Tour heard around the world,
- 8:38Speaker 5: and I'm kind of convinced he will never do this
- 8:42Speaker 5: kind of thing with the kids. He's not going to
- 8:44Speaker 5: do a kid's apology tour because he told us I
- 8:47Speaker 5: think maybe last season, a few seasons I don't remember,
- 8:50Speaker 5: but he said, from his perspective his own polygamy and polygamy,
- 8:55Speaker 5: the wives control the relationship that the kids have with
- 8:57Speaker 5: their dead and his perspective, wives, whatever the relationship the
- 9:01Speaker 5: dad has with the kids, it's like the wives.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Are the ones in control.
- 9:04Speaker 5: So he seems to think if he goes and apologize
- 9:07Speaker 5: to all the ex wives, to the mothers and he
- 9:09Speaker 5: makes things right with them, the kids will just automatically
- 9:12Speaker 5: fall in line. They're going to be back in his
- 9:14Speaker 5: good graces and they're all going to be fine, and
- 9:15Speaker 5: everything will be water under the bridge, and he doesn't
- 9:17Speaker 5: have to actually sit down and have the hard conversations
- 9:22Speaker 5: with his kids and apologize to his kids who he
- 9:24Speaker 5: has ignored and insulted and kind of fucked over for
- 9:28Speaker 5: years now. In his mind, if he apologizes to the wives,
- 9:32Speaker 5: the wives will get the kids in line and everything
- 9:35Speaker 5: will be fine and good. I don't think we will
- 9:37Speaker 5: ever see him sit down with Maddie or Mchelt or
- 9:41Speaker 5: Aspen or Logan or any of them and apologize for
- 9:44Speaker 5: all the wrongs he's done to them over the years.
- 9:47Speaker 5: They should automatically forget Daddy.
- 9:49Speaker 1: What do you think about that? Well, my first thought is,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but if they did, if they did sit down and
- 9:56Speaker 1: have these conversations, it would be such compelling television. Definitely,
- 10:01Speaker 1: I would love to see it. I also feel like
- 10:03Speaker 1: the kids actually deserve it. But I don't think he
- 10:07Speaker 1: cares about them. I don't think it's like some grand
- 10:11Speaker 1: machination in his mind to like apologize to the wives
- 10:15Speaker 1: so that they can get the kids to love him again.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I don't think he cares about those first fifteen or
- 10:20Speaker 1: sixteen or however many kids loving him anymore. Like if
- 10:23Speaker 1: you don't love me, that's fine. I've got my family. Yeah,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I've got my kids with Robin, and that's all I want.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I think he's compartmentalized to a point where he really
- 10:31Speaker 2: has just abandoned them, like total divorced dad syndrome, Like
- 10:36Speaker 2: I've got my package deal with Robin and her kids,
- 10:38Speaker 2: Like I don't need the rest of them, right. I
- 10:41Speaker 2: think he's just forgotten about them. I also think the
- 10:44Speaker 2: other layer with this is that the kid apology tour
- 10:48Speaker 2: would not happen because I don't think some of the
- 10:51Speaker 2: kids would want it. If I was one of these kids,
- 10:53Speaker 2: I wouldn't want it after everything my dad has said
- 10:56Speaker 2: on TV about me and about my sibling, and how
- 11:00Speaker 2: much of an ass he's made of himself throughout multiple
- 11:04Speaker 2: seasons of this show, and how he's treated my mom's
- 11:06Speaker 2: and everything. Like if Cody called me up and was like, Hey, Beatrice,
- 11:12Speaker 2: I really want to extend an olive branch of benevolence
- 11:15Speaker 2: with you and I want to apologize on National TV.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Will you agree to do this with me? I'd be like,
- 11:19Speaker 2: fuck yourself, Dad, bye. I would never sit down with him.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Furthermore, I would worry about the kids because you can
- 11:27Speaker 1: even see it with Maddie in this season when she's
- 11:29Speaker 1: talking about like trying to figure out how to contextualize
- 11:33Speaker 1: her father because he's just a man. These are his limitations.
- 11:36Speaker 1: How do I accept him for what he is? How
- 11:39Speaker 1: do I not keep hoping that it can be different
- 11:40Speaker 1: or better? Like she's trying to deal with this really
- 11:43Speaker 1: deep wound in her heart that her father put there,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and so then to sit her down across the table
- 11:50Speaker 1: from him. To have him just bloviate onward with his
- 11:53Speaker 1: bullshit is like you're running the risk of actually really
- 11:56Speaker 1: reinjuring her or injuring her more, and like you don't
- 11:59Speaker 1: want that to happen. But I do wonder if there
- 12:01Speaker 1: are a couple of g's in these kids that would
- 12:04Speaker 1: love to sit down and have a face to face
- 12:07Speaker 1: with that asshole Cody Brown, first and foremost Leon. I
- 12:10Speaker 1: just wonder what that conversation would look like, if Leon
- 12:13Speaker 1: would come out the gate and say exactly what they feel.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I wonder about the boys too. I wonder about Hunter.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I don't know why, but like hundred just kind of
- 12:21Speaker 1: sticks with me. I feel like Logan has moved past
- 12:24Speaker 1: it all. He's got his wife. I don't I think
- 12:26Speaker 1: they're child free. I don't know if they're going to
- 12:28Speaker 1: remain that way or whatever, but like he's got his
- 12:30Speaker 1: own thing going on. But like Hunter feels like a
- 12:33Speaker 1: live wire. Gabe is much more soft to me, a
- 12:38Speaker 1: bit more empathic. But there are a couple of these
- 12:41Speaker 1: kids who I think would get in the ring, the
- 12:44Speaker 1: wrestling ring with Cody Brown and say some shit that
- 12:47Speaker 1: he actually needs to hear, which is why I think
- 12:50Speaker 1: he would never do it, because look what happened in
- 12:52Speaker 1: this last week's episode with David saying something so mild
- 12:56Speaker 1: as well, you might want to start with the kids.
- 12:59Speaker 1: He can't even hear that. He can't so he's not
- 13:01Speaker 1: going to be able to hear anything from his kids,
- 13:02Speaker 1: who he feels owe him, are beneath him, should be
- 13:07Speaker 1: loyal to him.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and to that point, like, I think Cody would
- 13:11Speaker 2: not be able to control himself with his children if
- 13:14Speaker 2: they did call him out on their on his bullshit.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Whereas with the wives, I think he's rehearsed it enough
- 13:19Speaker 2: with Robin in their closet at their house that he
- 13:24Speaker 2: has been able to He's able to have a stable
- 13:27Speaker 2: conversation with the og wives and not lose his cool
- 13:31Speaker 2: at this point. But like with his kids, like sometimes
- 13:33Speaker 2: when it's your child too, like calling you out on
- 13:36Speaker 2: your bullshit like the mirror to you, like it can
- 13:39Speaker 2: really set a fire, and I think Cody would not
- 13:42Speaker 2: be able to handle that. What do you think about
- 13:44Speaker 2: her point about Cody not talking to the kids because
- 13:48Speaker 2: he thinks that the wives are the key to the children,
- 13:51Speaker 2: Like if he apologizes to the wives, then everything will
- 13:53Speaker 2: be better with his kids.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I don't think that's what he's doing. I don't think
- 13:56Speaker 1: that's the motivation. I think it's all for television. I
- 13:59Speaker 1: don't think he actually cares about the kids, and I
- 14:02Speaker 1: don't think he cares about the women at all.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree. I do think that there is
- 14:08Speaker 2: something to be said, which we didn't really talk about
- 14:10Speaker 2: it this week in our recap, but Christine kept saying,
- 14:13Speaker 2: you know, if my kids can see me have a nice,
- 14:16Speaker 2: cordial conversation with their dad, they'll learn that it's okay
- 14:20Speaker 2: to hang out with their dad and that things are okay,
- 14:22Speaker 2: and that it's important for them to see their parents
- 14:25Speaker 2: coexist together and be nice to each other even after
- 14:29Speaker 2: this divorce. Like that is really impactful for children, especially
- 14:32Speaker 2: if divorce even though a lot of these kids are
- 14:34Speaker 2: older and their adults and everything like it's still that
- 14:36Speaker 2: still means something, and I think there is something to
- 14:39Speaker 2: be said about that. But like Cody is not genuine,
- 14:42Speaker 2: that's not why he's doing exactly.
- 14:44Speaker 1: He doesn't care with Christine. I think he's probably trying
- 14:46Speaker 1: to manipulate the situation due to the lawsuit. I also
- 14:49Speaker 1: think he's trying to commit or create it. He's trying
- 14:52Speaker 1: to commit content. He's trying to create content with Mary.
- 14:55Speaker 1: It's interesting because I'm wondering if she's the only one
- 14:59Speaker 1: who didn't sign the.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Now.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I don't know if Christine ever would or would need
- 15:03Speaker 1: to sign an NDA. I don't think Christine gives a fuck. Yeah,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I think Janelle may have signed the NDA, and then
- 15:10Speaker 1: with Mary she didn't. So he's really nervous to sit
- 15:13Speaker 1: down with her because she can say whatever she wants
- 15:15Speaker 1: to say. I don't blame him, and I don't think
- 15:17Speaker 1: he's having that conversation with Mary in order to get
- 15:20Speaker 1: to Leon. I don't think he cares about Leon, and
- 15:23Speaker 1: that's just the tragedy of the entire thing. I don't
- 15:26Speaker 1: think he cares about his original kids, Which kind of
- 15:28Speaker 1: leads us to the question of what we were asking
- 15:31Speaker 1: in the last episode, which is, like what happened to you,
- 15:34Speaker 1: Cody Brown? Like you used to be so playful and
- 15:37Speaker 1: happy to be around your family, and you loved Christmas
- 15:40Speaker 1: and traditions and holidays. Like what changed so profoundly within
- 15:45Speaker 1: you that you just literally don't give a shit about
- 15:47Speaker 1: these kids anymore? We heard last season I think it
- 15:51Speaker 1: was last season Aspen asking her dad Cody, it was
- 15:54Speaker 1: this season. Cody was telling Robin that Aspen said something like,
- 15:58Speaker 1: why don't you love me? Yes, why don't you want
- 16:00Speaker 1: to be around me?
- 16:02Speaker 3: Like?
- 16:02Speaker 1: What the hell? He does not care? He doesn't at all.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And then he wants to parade around and talk about
- 16:07Speaker 2: his conversations with God and how he's getting prayerful to
- 16:10Speaker 2: be forgiving and he's on this pilgrimage to be a
- 16:15Speaker 2: better person, to be a more godly benevolent, to be benevolent,
- 16:18Speaker 2: And it's like, how can you say all that when
- 16:21Speaker 2: you don't talk to any of your children and.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You actually kind of seem to despise a few of them.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, it's just so sick and twisted. What do
- 16:30Speaker 2: you guys think? Are we going to get a kid's
- 16:31Speaker 2: apology tour? Or is that never gonna happen.
- 16:35Speaker 1: That's never It's never gonna happen unless it's Mcounty. But yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 1: we don't want that, No, thank you, I don't want
- 16:40Speaker 1: that at all.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Next call we have is from Haley. Haley, Hay B
- 16:44Speaker 2: and D.
- 16:45Speaker 6: This is Haley calling from a rainy dumpster in Seattle
- 16:48Speaker 6: with my theory as to why Cody and Robin are
- 16:52Speaker 6: not being held accountable by production like we wish they
- 16:55Speaker 6: would as the viewer. I think that production is let
- 17:00Speaker 6: the footage speak for itself. I believe they know they're
- 17:03Speaker 6: dealing with two narcissists, and what better way to expose
- 17:07Speaker 6: them than to stroke their ego by making them think
- 17:11Speaker 6: you're not questioning them, you believe everything they're saying, and
- 17:14Speaker 6: then show the footage that directly contradicts that. I do
- 17:17Speaker 6: wish they would do this more often, However, they do. Lately.
- 17:22Speaker 6: You see the coyote past scene where Robin makes herself
- 17:26Speaker 6: the victim in this situation, but we see Mary and
- 17:29Speaker 6: Janelle there early we know they were trying to be
- 17:32Speaker 6: cordial and it was freezing cold they got back in
- 17:34Speaker 6: their car. Because Cody and Robin relate all of the
- 17:37Speaker 6: scenes where Cody's talking about how he is trying to
- 17:40Speaker 6: reconcile with his older kids, and then they show that
- 17:44Speaker 6: he's clearly not all the older kids are saying that
- 17:46Speaker 6: that's not true, and then most recently, with Robin saying
- 17:50Speaker 6: that Cody's a great dad, that had to be rage bait.
- 17:54Speaker 6: I think the producers put that on there because they
- 17:56Speaker 6: themselves know how horrible that is going to make Robin
- 18:00Speaker 6: look so Devil's advocate. Maybe the producers feel the same
- 18:04Speaker 6: way we do in a way, and they just want
- 18:07Speaker 6: to keep letting them expose themselves rather than call them out.
- 18:12Speaker 6: Let me know what you guys think.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I mean, I could see that because we have been
- 18:16Speaker 2: noticing those little producer clips, like when Cody or Robin
- 18:22Speaker 2: says some buckshit, they'll show a flashback or they'll show
- 18:25Speaker 2: somebody else contradicting what they're saying. And I appreciate that,
- 18:30Speaker 2: and that's cool, but I also feel like it's a
- 18:33Speaker 2: little lazy because then you're gonna have Sukiana who's like
- 18:35Speaker 2: not gonna ask any hard questions whatsoever because she doesn't
- 18:39Speaker 2: want to upset Cody the Brown and Robin thee Brown.
- 18:42Speaker 2: And so I appreciate it. And they are showing that
- 18:47Speaker 2: Cody and Robin are a bunch of liars, but they're
- 18:48Speaker 2: also platforming them on this redemption arc.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yes, you know, I think that if it's so subtle
- 18:58Speaker 1: that we have to question whether they're doing it or not,
- 19:02Speaker 1: then it needs to be a lot less subtle. If
- 19:04Speaker 1: that's what you're trying to do right, because there are
- 19:07Speaker 1: a lot of instances across the last three or four
- 19:11Speaker 1: seasons where they have said something that is an obvious
- 19:15Speaker 1: lie that they could have promptly pull up the footage.
- 19:19Speaker 1: We could watch it together and show that it's a lie,
- 19:22Speaker 1: but they're not doing that. I actually feel like production
- 19:25Speaker 1: doesn't get it. I feel like they're stupid and I'm
- 19:28Speaker 1: sick of them, but I hate them. Why the show
- 19:32Speaker 1: could be infinitely better? Why would you have to be
- 19:35Speaker 1: so subtle?
- 19:36Speaker 3: Well?
- 19:36Speaker 2: I also think like they might be running kind of
- 19:39Speaker 2: a fine line because if you upset Cody and Robin
- 19:42Speaker 2: too much, then they might then want to cancel the show.
- 19:47Speaker 2: And I feel like TLC wants the money.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I feel like they want the public still make money,
- 19:50Speaker 1: though should still be able to make money. We've had
- 19:53Speaker 1: this conversation.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Still a big cash cow, though, I think they're just
- 19:57Speaker 2: trying to milk it.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Sody and Robin could not live without the show. They
- 20:01Speaker 1: have no leverage. I've said this a million times. You
- 20:03Speaker 1: guys are getting sick of it. They could.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I mean, I know that they can't live without the show.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I know that, but if like TLC looks at them
- 20:11Speaker 2: as like the moneymakers. Then yeah, they're going to do
- 20:15Speaker 2: things to try and appease them and try and give
- 20:17Speaker 2: them a good.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Then they're still edit going back to my premise, these
- 20:21Speaker 1: people are stupid, yes, and.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I do agree they need to call them out a
- 20:25Speaker 2: little bit more in these like cut scenes and in
- 20:28Speaker 2: the editing process like show us well and in the
- 20:32Speaker 2: tell especially.
- 20:33Speaker 1: My god, the tell alls. Please, this is the prime opportunity.
- 20:37Speaker 1: They're looking right at the monitor. They can see the
- 20:40Speaker 1: footage I know is counteracting the thing that they're saying,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but we don't show it. And if we do, Robin
- 20:44Speaker 1: doesn't even look at the monitor. Girl by that bitch.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Immediately, I'm already disassociating y because we're gonna have to
- 20:50Speaker 2: cover them.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I'm going astral and why I mean. I like Sukiana.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think her name is Kanya. I like sue Kanya.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I like her vibration. I think she's it's like a
- 21:00Speaker 1: great person bullet, and I feel like she's probably being
- 21:04Speaker 1: told that she can't pursue it to the degree that
- 21:07Speaker 1: she might want to do it. We know that Cody
- 21:10Speaker 1: was the one who was unhappy with Tameron Hall, so
- 21:12Speaker 1: tammeron Hall was never invited back to do the tell
- 21:15Speaker 1: Nothings right? Well, like, god, so, kany you give us something, Nicore?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Just now we're going to go through four episodes, you know,
- 21:22Speaker 1: and like two seasons ago, we also had a watch background.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I know, maybe they're going to do that. Stop they
- 21:28Speaker 1: have to watch. Robin won't even watch it back. She's
- 21:31Speaker 1: sitting in her new McMansion. She's like, I'm busy. I'm
- 21:33Speaker 1: the Tickenzian village, my dolls.
- 21:35Speaker 2: O God, I'm unpacking my pantry, organizing everything.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so many chips, so many chips, chips.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Seriously, anyway, what do y'all think about the producers with
- 21:49Speaker 2: Cody and Robin? Do you agree with Haley's call? Do
- 21:52Speaker 2: you have other things to add to it? Let us
- 21:55Speaker 2: know and the Connas blow up?
- 21:56Speaker 1: Yep.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Next call we have is from Bertie.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Oh my god, Bertie.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Hey, it's thirty from the rainy dumpster of Ohio. I
- 22:06Speaker 4: think I'm was a week later than maybe I should
- 22:08Speaker 4: have been in my little call here because I just
- 22:12Speaker 4: wanted to show some appreciation that you ladies had different
- 22:16Speaker 4: opinions on Cody's apology to Janelle, because I don't think
- 22:21Speaker 4: either one of you was too harsh or too soft,
- 22:25Speaker 4: and I liked hearing the different opinions. I think a
- 22:29Speaker 4: lot of people are kind of falling into being so
- 22:32Speaker 4: ride or die for certain people on the show that
- 22:35Speaker 4: they don't want to criticize them. And I don't think
- 22:37Speaker 4: you two ever do that. And I really like that
- 22:41Speaker 4: because both of them really deserve that kind of loyalty,
- 22:45Speaker 4: loyalty like Cody. But I was just thinking about Janelle
- 22:50Speaker 4: and some of the callers talking about Janelle before and
- 22:55Speaker 4: just she wasn't raised in this religion, and I wonder
- 22:59Speaker 4: if we should judge her more harshly because she wasn't.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Because I think Janelle, not Janelle, Christine and Mary are
- 23:05Speaker 4: both kind of brainwashed from growing up in a faith
- 23:08Speaker 4: that it puts men on such a pedestal. And I
- 23:11Speaker 4: think that Janelle is so likable, especially two women. I
- 23:16Speaker 4: think we just see her and we're like, yeah, you
- 23:17Speaker 4: got it going on that we kind of, you know,
- 23:20Speaker 4: it makes it easy to not see some of those
- 23:23Speaker 4: things that she's doing that like parenting choices that aren't good.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Let me know what you think.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Well, I'm glad that people appreciated are a little argument,
- 23:32Speaker 2: no skidding, are a differing opinion.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Definitely. Yeah, I actually really appreciate that about us too,
- 23:38Speaker 1: because we'll talk about the whole thing and we'll often disagree.
- 23:40Speaker 1: But with regard to Janelle, I think that is such
- 23:44Speaker 1: an interesting point about her not being raised in this religion.
- 23:48Speaker 1: But I do want to counter that by saying, but
- 23:51Speaker 1: she was raised LDS, right.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's still very patriarchal.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Right, so she's got like these same foundational parts of
- 23:59Speaker 1: the religion. It's just she wasn't AUB, she wasn't fundamentalist,
- 24:04Speaker 1: and she wasn't polygamist. Yeah right, Yes, So I think
- 24:10Speaker 1: if she's raised LDS and she's indoctrinated fully into just LDS,
- 24:14Speaker 1: that's enough. Yeah, that's enough for her to still be
- 24:17Speaker 1: sold out and radical for the religion.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Yes, I agree. But I do think that there is
- 24:23Speaker 2: an issue within the Sister Wives fandom and within other
- 24:26Speaker 2: reality fandoms like Welcome to Platform, for example, where like
- 24:30Speaker 2: people just look, I always gott to bring it up,
- 24:33Speaker 2: where like people really do like attach themselves to certain
- 24:37Speaker 2: characters and like they literally cannot do anything wrong ever,
- 24:41Speaker 2: and so any kind of like criticism or counterpoint to
- 24:46Speaker 2: people's behavior on TV, which is for our entertainment. So
- 24:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna judge it, and I'm going to be critical
- 24:51Speaker 2: about it, like any kind of criticism is taken with such.
- 24:55Speaker 4: A like oh my god.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Personal. Yes, that's because people identify themselves in the characters
- 25:03Speaker 1: on television. And so when you're looking at somebody like
- 25:05Speaker 1: Olivia Plath, who was indoctrinated into this toxic Christian religion
- 25:10Speaker 1: and who is deconstructing, like, that's a lot of us
- 25:13Speaker 1: out here totally, and so we put ourselves in her
- 25:16Speaker 1: situation and we're not toxic and narcissistic, and so how
- 25:19Speaker 1: dare anybody else call her toxic and narcissistic? And so
- 25:22Speaker 1: we get offended. But it's because we're identifying too closely
- 25:25Speaker 1: with these characters exactly. And maybe that's somewhat what happens
- 25:29Speaker 1: with Janelle. I'm not sure. I just think that she
- 25:32Speaker 1: could have done so many things differently. But honestly, I
- 25:36Speaker 1: can say that about myself met as a parent, as
- 25:39Speaker 1: a wife, as a child, and I could have done
- 25:41Speaker 1: many things differently, but she chose to put herself on
- 25:45Speaker 1: television and show us what she did well.
- 25:46Speaker 2: And that's the thing. It's like, you know, if you're
- 25:49Speaker 2: going to be on TV, you can't be free from
- 25:52Speaker 2: criticist judgment or criticism. Obviously, nobody should be harsh, and
- 25:57Speaker 2: nobody should be violent, and nobody should be like downright
- 26:01Speaker 2: nasty and like making these reality stars unsafe. But like
- 26:05Speaker 2: if people are just commenting online in wigs or whatever
- 26:08Speaker 2: in a dumpster, don't come for me, don't come for us.
- 26:13Speaker 2: You know, I do think that we need more reality
- 26:17Speaker 2: in reality TV recaps, in my opinion, not to get
- 26:20Speaker 2: all meta.
- 26:21Speaker 1: We're trying to fill a gap. I think we do
- 26:23Speaker 1: very well.
- 26:24Speaker 2: I agree it's quite a big gap.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Ye call me fat.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Anyway, thank you for your call, Birdie, And last call
- 26:32Speaker 2: we have is from jin.
- 26:34Speaker 7: Hey, ladies, raccoon. Jen Here just watching the recent episode
- 26:40Speaker 7: The Apology Tour, Part two, where Janelle is recapping everything
- 26:45Speaker 7: with her friends, and in her interstitial she's talking about
- 26:50Speaker 7: how she was very clear that Robin was not to
- 26:54Speaker 7: come when Cody came to speak with her, and that
- 26:58Speaker 7: if Cody had anything to say about Robin, she didn't
- 27:01Speaker 7: want to hear it. And it just makes me wonder
- 27:05Speaker 7: that all the you know, the rumors and all the
- 27:10Speaker 7: things thrilling about the whole followed a Garrison's funeral. It
- 27:14Speaker 7: really makes me feel like maybe there's some credence to
- 27:16Speaker 7: that there, because why else would Janelle have such a
- 27:21Speaker 7: deep disdain for Robin, specifically unless she did something that
- 27:28Speaker 7: Janelle deemed so unforgivable. I don't know what are your thoughts.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Well, I could think of some other reasons why Janelle
- 27:36Speaker 2: would have such deep disdain for Robin, specifically her break
- 27:40Speaker 2: dancing pussy.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Right and having the preference of Cody, who she probably
- 27:45Speaker 1: really did love during their time being married. But I
- 27:48Speaker 1: think that's a really good theory. And for those of
- 27:51Speaker 1: you who might not know Michelte around the time of
- 27:55Speaker 1: either the funeral or the memorial, I get them mixed up.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Mentioned that Robin did something presumably so bad that Michelty
- 28:06Speaker 1: decided to cut off contact with Robin. Yeah, and a
- 28:09Speaker 1: lot of us have speculated as to what that might
- 28:12Speaker 1: have been. I truly have no idea, but like I
- 28:15Speaker 1: feel that McKelty wanted to be a part of their experience,
- 28:21Speaker 1: wanted to be a part of the family. I think
- 28:22Speaker 1: Michelty really did love Robin and Cody fur heard it
- 28:27Speaker 1: suddenly just kind of break ties indicates Robin probably did
- 28:32Speaker 1: something really shitty. Yeah, and so I would imagine that
- 28:35Speaker 1: Janelle would have heard about whatever that was from Michelty
- 28:37Speaker 1: or everybody else, and so maybe that is why she
- 28:41Speaker 1: has such a disdain for Robin personally. We were seeing
- 28:46Speaker 1: glimpses from Janelle in the prior two three seasons where
- 28:51Speaker 1: she's calling her counsel or Robin or you know, Robin
- 28:54Speaker 1: speaks Cody. She's making these jabs, she's throwing a little
- 28:58Speaker 1: bit of shade. So she clearly doesn't like Robin. That
- 29:01Speaker 1: could have been the thing though during the funeral or
- 29:03Speaker 1: memorial that tipped her over the edge, and now she
- 29:06Speaker 1: has like this visceral like you better not bring that
- 29:08Speaker 1: bitch around me.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:10Speaker 1: I don't want to see her. I don't even want
- 29:12Speaker 1: to know that she's in town. I can see that.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Definitely, And it just makes me wonder what it was.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I thought that there was like a theory or a
- 29:19Speaker 2: rumor going around. I thought McKelty like said it was
- 29:24Speaker 2: something about the will, wasn't it? Or maybe was that
- 29:28Speaker 2: just a rumor on.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Ready, I'm thinking that was a rumor. That was a
- 29:32Speaker 1: bunch of raccoons chattering in a dumpster. Okay, I don't
- 29:34Speaker 1: think Micheltia ever said that, But correct me if I'm wrong.
- 29:36Speaker 2: If she did, please, yeah, because I don't know if
- 29:38Speaker 2: she went on her Patreon and like tried to Alec.
- 29:40Speaker 1: She inquired about the life insurance play that's what it
- 29:43Speaker 1: was something like.
- 29:44Speaker 2: That, yes, and so maybe it was something like that.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Do you think that that would have been big enough
- 29:49Speaker 2: for like Janelle and some of these others to be like,
- 29:52Speaker 2: I'm done with Robin.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Oh God, it would have pissed me off to know.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And if I'm the primary parent, I'm the one that's
- 29:58Speaker 1: there for my child. You have done everything to be
- 30:01Speaker 1: an antagonist in this family. You've destroyed my family, and
- 30:05Speaker 1: then the moment my child passes, you're inquiring as to
- 30:08Speaker 1: whether Cody has any access to his life insurance, which
- 30:13Speaker 1: he must have because he was in the military. Like
- 30:16Speaker 1: that would give me so much ray flames. I would
- 30:20Speaker 1: definitely be murderous from that me.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Too, I mean, because that's usually what happens. And these
- 30:25Speaker 2: kinds of funerals and memorials and stuff like you have
- 30:28Speaker 2: these fucking it's weird dude demons coming out from the
- 30:33Speaker 2: woodwork that are just like, hey, but like, what about
- 30:36Speaker 2: the stuff.
- 30:36Speaker 1: What did I tell you? When my father in law passed,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and he passed in twenty twenty, family gathered around the
- 30:44Speaker 1: house like the day of his passing, the day after
- 30:48Speaker 1: his passing, and there were some family members literally walking
- 30:51Speaker 1: through his garage where he stored all of his stuff,
- 30:55Speaker 1: all of his computers and things like that, walking into
- 30:58Speaker 1: spare rooms just checking out out to see what kind
- 31:01Speaker 1: of things he owned, like right in front of his wife,
- 31:05Speaker 1: my mother in law. Like, people get crazy when money
- 31:09Speaker 1: and possessions are involved, and so I could see.
- 31:12Speaker 2: I could totally see it. And now that I'm thinking
- 31:14Speaker 2: about it, because like my grandparents died in COVID and
- 31:17Speaker 2: so when they died, they had nothing. It's not like
- 31:19Speaker 2: I'm from a rich family, doesn't matter. I came from
- 31:23Speaker 2: a fucking trailer park. But like when they died, I
- 31:26Speaker 2: remember when we went through their stuff and their trailer,
- 31:29Speaker 2: and like I had some cousins and stuff that came
- 31:32Speaker 2: out of the woodwork that hadn't seen them in decades,
- 31:34Speaker 2: you know, and they're like all strung out on drugs
- 31:36Speaker 2: and stuff, and they were coming out and they're like, hey,
- 31:39Speaker 2: can we get the old Honda?
- 31:41Speaker 1: Can we get can we get the scrap metal, like
- 31:43Speaker 1: literally yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 2: And they were like going through my grandma's like tax
- 31:48Speaker 2: records and stuff like trying to find account numbers and shit,
- 31:50Speaker 2: and I'm like, there's not even any money heady there, Yes,
- 31:54Speaker 2: and so like my mom had to manage everything. It
- 31:56Speaker 2: was like a whole fucking mess.
- 31:57Speaker 1: That's that's what that's when.
- 31:58Speaker 2: That's what people did.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Just people make an appearance when somebody dies and there's
- 32:03Speaker 1: money that's in play.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I could totally see Robin doing some shit, and of course,
- 32:08Speaker 2: like she would do it at the most inappropriate inopportunity.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but the money's that place.
- 32:13Speaker 2: He just got to do it. She's got to do
- 32:15Speaker 2: it right there and then and make sure that nobody
- 32:17Speaker 2: forgets about Cody, because Cody needs his check and I
- 32:20Speaker 2: really you deserve that.
- 32:23Speaker 1: He doesn't deserve.
- 32:25Speaker 2: And I really hope wasn't there also a rumor like
- 32:27Speaker 2: after Garrison passed away that like he had like redone
- 32:31Speaker 2: his will or something, or redone his life insurance policy.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I feel like there was a rumor that I saw
- 32:36Speaker 2: and read it. Correct me if I'm wrong, y'all, but
- 32:39Speaker 2: like that somebody had found out Garrison, like adjusted who
- 32:43Speaker 2: was going to be the benefactor to his stuff, and
- 32:47Speaker 2: I think he made it only Janelle, Like I think
- 32:50Speaker 2: he made Janelle the main one, which I really hope
- 32:53Speaker 2: that that would have been true.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I feel like he would have.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I would have after my dad was calling me a
- 32:58Speaker 2: fucking narcissist and an asshole on National TV, like yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 2: I would have fucking yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I don't remember that rumor, but I actually hope that
- 33:05Speaker 1: he did do that. I hope so that she's the
- 33:07Speaker 1: beneficiary and that she got all of his stuff and
- 33:10Speaker 1: that when they sold his town home that she got
- 33:13Speaker 1: all the equity.
- 33:14Speaker 2: It honestly makes me so much and not to get
- 33:16Speaker 2: on a tangent, but like it makes me so mad
- 33:17Speaker 2: seeing Cody in his garage now with his big old
- 33:21Speaker 2: picture of Poster Garrison, because I'm just like, you don't
- 33:25Speaker 2: even deserve that, dude, And it sucks because I shouldn't
- 33:29Speaker 2: say that about a father who had like a really
- 33:32Speaker 2: fucked up relationship with his kid, Like I shouldn't say
- 33:34Speaker 2: that as a light being as a child.
- 33:38Speaker 1: You know, it strikes a chord, but it's really it just.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Makes me so mad, like how dare you, like you
- 33:43Speaker 2: had no relationship with him, allegedly and like you didn't
- 33:45Speaker 2: talk to him.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Called him an asshole, as a narcissist, you chose Robin.
- 33:49Speaker 1: He was upset about it. He was asking directly for
- 33:52Speaker 1: your attention. Please, Dad, can we spend some time together?
- 33:55Speaker 1: Can you come visit the kids from Janelle?
- 33:57Speaker 2: And he was struggling mentally, And you like his poster
- 34:00Speaker 2: in your garage because you want to act like a
- 34:03Speaker 2: mourning father. And I hate to say that. I hate
- 34:06Speaker 2: to say that because it's so fucking insensitive.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Because I feel like a lot of us feel that way.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I know that that's his kid and everything, but like
- 34:12Speaker 2: just the way that he has conducted himself, I'm just like,
- 34:17Speaker 2: how dare you so? I could you know? What?
- 34:19Speaker 1: So? Why would Janelle mad at him? And why would
- 34:22Speaker 1: Janelle only be mad at Robin? Why would Janelle like
- 34:26Speaker 1: only be upset if Robin is grasping for the inheritance,
- 34:29Speaker 1: because she would have only done that through Cody, her
- 34:32Speaker 1: mouthpiece exactly So. But Janelle's fine with Cody, it's just Robin.
- 34:36Speaker 1: And that's kind of where I go back to, Well,
- 34:38Speaker 1: maybe it really is about her wanting his affection maybe
- 34:42Speaker 1: and not getting it, and him preferring Robin, and so
- 34:45Speaker 1: that actually did get to her more than just the
- 34:48Speaker 1: fact that he treated her children badly.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Well, and one can hope since grief is not a
- 34:52Speaker 2: linear process, like maybe she'll go through the anger stage
- 34:55Speaker 2: of grief eventually and like she'll realize, oh, Cody's a
- 35:00Speaker 2: massive pile of shit, like after her NDA, after her
- 35:04Speaker 2: NDA contract is over with, Like maybe she'll actually start
- 35:08Speaker 2: being real with herself. Like if she doesn't and she
- 35:11Speaker 2: just like goes the rest of her life like.
- 35:12Speaker 1: This people do, honey, I just uh, yeah, it's unfortunate.
- 35:17Speaker 2: I frustrating.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why probably Maddie's frustrated. Yeah, like why
- 35:21Speaker 1: are you going through all of these steps to divorce?
- 35:24Speaker 1: You could just be finished with him, just be finished
- 35:27Speaker 1: with just be done. But for whatever reason, Janelle needs
- 35:29Speaker 1: to do what she needs to do.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I really wish we knew what happened at the funeral
- 35:33Speaker 2: or the memorial. I really wish we knew what Robin
- 35:37Speaker 2: did or said. If any of y'all know or like
- 35:40Speaker 2: have any theories, please let us know in your comments.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Would love to hear them, because if maybe we're off base,
- 35:45Speaker 2: maybe it was something way worse or we're terrible. I
- 35:48Speaker 2: don't even know.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Maybe there was a fight that broke out. Maybe maybe
- 35:51Speaker 1: it got fits. Maybe they were brass knuckles, black guys,
- 35:54Speaker 1: black eyes and everything. Who knows. That would have been
- 35:59Speaker 1: so great.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Anyway, that's all the calls we got.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Well, thank you so much.
- 36:03Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 36:04Speaker 1: These were actually really good calls.
- 36:05Speaker 2: We're good.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I personally love to hear your observations and I love
- 36:09Speaker 1: when they don't necessarily align with mine. Yeah, because it
- 36:14Speaker 1: makes me think and then I start to argue yes,
- 36:16Speaker 1: and that's entertaining yes. So thank you. Well, Beatrice. Is
- 36:20Speaker 1: there anything else that we should say to these beautiful
- 36:22Speaker 1: raccoons before we get up on out of here hood?
