Transcript
- 0:18Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Fandemonium, the pop culture game show
- 0:22Speaker 1: that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms. I'm your
- 0:25Speaker 1: games master and comedy producer with a five decade grip
- 0:29Speaker 1: on power, Matt Watson. But a games master needs games,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and games need players, so please welcome first. He is
- 0:36Speaker 1: a podcaster and comedian who wants you to come to
- 0:38Speaker 1: the Fandemonium Live show on May twenty fourth in Colorado Springs.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Run into him and he'll give you an update on
- 0:44Speaker 1: his weekend. It's Jason None.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Oh, while I was like, that could have been anyone,
- 0:51Speaker 2: I wasn't expecting my name at the table today.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yes. Absolutely, and he is an improviser, writer, and program director.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Check out Peakimprov dot com for details on shows and
- 1:02Speaker 1: classes at the Peak Improv Theater. He's the opposite of
- 1:06Speaker 1: a Debbie Downer, but he is still concerned about feline aids.
- 1:09Speaker 1: It's Ethan Goldman.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Oh, No, I didn't know you were going to say
- 1:12Speaker 3: my name.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I was hoping that was going to be me.
- 1:18Speaker 1: He just suddenly got a job at the theater. I'll
- 1:23Speaker 1: see what I've put for you. Try all right, Welcome back, Jason.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Welcome for the first time, Ethan, how are you both?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Oh my god, so good? Doing great, not a Debbie downer.
- 1:34Speaker 2: And I'm very concerned about feline aids. Goodness, I didn't
- 1:38Speaker 2: know where that came from. This is a new environment,
- 1:41Speaker 2: so this is all very interesting. That's what you know.
- 1:43Speaker 3: What if you if a cat has feeling aids, they
- 1:45Speaker 3: can't go to new environment.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It's a huge burden for them.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Hugely offensive, laughing, It feels sad.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So Jason, you are kind of alluding to there that
- 1:58Speaker 1: maybe SNL isn't your your biggest fandom.
- 2:01Speaker 2: No, no, no, I was born after two thousand and seven.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But I just I don't think no, I wasn't at all.
- 2:11Speaker 2: My my generation doesn't watch s and O. I don't
- 2:14Speaker 2: know a single person my age that has watched an
- 2:17Speaker 2: entire episode of sn let alone live.
- 2:20Speaker 1: That's true. Sketches are on TikTok now, right.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and we watch clips and seventy percent of them suck.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So what I think to subject myself, You know.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I don't think you'll find any disagreement from any cl
- 2:32Speaker 1: fans that those percentages.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It was like a golden era, right, not during my time.
- 2:37Speaker 3: That's what everyone argues about. Well, I'm sure we'll get
- 2:39Speaker 3: into it. But yeah, yeah, everyone thinks that their generation
- 2:43Speaker 3: of cast or whatever is like the best one. As
- 2:46Speaker 3: a fan of it, I will say they all kind
- 2:48Speaker 3: of suck. There's some gems, yeah, there's compilations of the
- 2:52Speaker 3: good stuff or like clips, but yeah, on the whole,
- 2:55Speaker 3: any one episode is like not gonna be good.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah. So, Ethan, you are a fan of SNL, So
- 3:02Speaker 1: that's that's great news for Jason for this team ice game.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Thank god. How long have you been a fan of SNL.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Well, so, I grew up in Chicago, and so it
- 3:11Speaker 3: was when we would do our shows and classes and
- 3:15Speaker 3: stuff at Second City. The hipeline was very much there
- 3:18Speaker 3: for a lot of people that like they wanted to
- 3:21Speaker 3: be on Saturday Night Live, and so watching it was
- 3:24Speaker 3: sort of like you know, it was it was research.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It was homework in some ways, because a lot of
- 3:29Speaker 3: improvisers really went to Second City not to get better
- 3:32Speaker 3: at improv, but because they were like, we know, scouts
- 3:35Speaker 3: come to the show.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Sure we could get on.
- 3:37Speaker 3: And I know a couple of people who've who've gone
- 3:39Speaker 3: on and been on the show, it seems grueling and hard.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I don't want to be on the show. Yeah, but
- 3:44Speaker 3: you know, I've watched it sort of from an analytical standpoint,
- 3:47Speaker 3: but so yeah, for years I've seen it, but in
- 3:49Speaker 3: the same vein as what you're saying. Most people don't
- 3:52Speaker 3: just sit and watch all episode of it anymore. It's
- 3:54Speaker 3: not even you know, before that you'd get like the
- 3:57Speaker 3: best of David Spade or whatever.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Like, I don't know if that's an unique COMPLI.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Your best example, like, yeah, they've always been doing that
- 4:09Speaker 3: where you know, because it's rotating cast and stuff, a
- 4:13Speaker 3: lot of diversity in each episode of the types of
- 4:15Speaker 3: comedy and so kind of jack of all trades masterom
- 4:18Speaker 3: not my few.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. And I spot like the
- 4:22Speaker 1: YouTube clips tend to do quite well now and I
- 4:25Speaker 1: certainly will catch the occasional sketch just from them appearing
- 4:30Speaker 1: and getting millions of views on YouTube. I like you said,
- 4:33Speaker 1: I can't imagine sitting down on a on a Saturday
- 4:35Speaker 1: night at whatever time and watching a full two hour show. Yeah,
- 4:39Speaker 1: it's two hours. I think with commercials there's a musical
- 4:44Speaker 1: guess where they're gonna fit that seventy percent if they
- 4:47Speaker 1: were two hours. Okay, I think you'll make a great
- 4:50Speaker 1: team we've got someone who has been alongside SNL for
- 4:53Speaker 1: a good amount of time now, and Jason who may
- 4:56Speaker 1: have seen half a sketch with Ryan Garsling. Okay, that
- 5:03Speaker 1: that might come up, that might come up. Yes, all right,
- 5:08Speaker 1: let's let's see where those agreeables are coming from, because
- 5:11Speaker 1: you'll need some opponents. She is a podcaster and comedian
- 5:14Speaker 1: who wants you to send your fandom muses to gate
- 5:17Speaker 1: Leapers at gmail dot com. Please. She used to be
- 5:21Speaker 1: a cheerleader, but thankfully not a spartan one. It's Audra Stephenson. Hello, Hello, Hello,
- 5:27Speaker 1: And he is a sketchwriter, improviser, and teacher, which makes
- 5:31Speaker 1: him better than the rest of us. He used to
- 5:34Speaker 1: make a local access sketch show, so I want to
- 5:37Speaker 1: live in Troy's world. It's Troy Davidson.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Hello.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Hello.
- 5:42Speaker 4: We wasn't going to be me.
- 5:45Speaker 1: You didn't used to be a cheerleader, Okay, I still
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was your second time, So Audre, we know one
- 5:54Speaker 1: of our resident captains doesn't have a ton of knowledge
- 5:57Speaker 1: about SNL, but what about yourself?
- 5:58Speaker 5: I have a passing like osmosis knowledge because I in
- 6:03Speaker 5: college was friends with people who went to Chicago. Because
- 6:07Speaker 5: people from SNL were going to be scouting, So I
- 6:12Speaker 5: had a general cultural osmosis, but I did not necessarily
- 6:17Speaker 5: watch it because I didn't know how to find it
- 6:21Speaker 5: and they blocked all the channels at my school.
- 6:24Speaker 1: That's right, Christian College.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, Sketch comedy was the devil according to God.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Apparently I don't disagree with that. Okay, so some cultural
- 6:36Speaker 1: osmosis knowledge. Troy, what about yourself? You an SNL fan?
- 6:41Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, it's interesting because Audrey and I had kind
- 6:44Speaker 4: of the same experience. My parents were very religious, so
- 6:49Speaker 4: watching the SNL like I had to sneak it in
- 6:51Speaker 4: because it was like I was sinning. Yeah, yeah, I
- 6:56Speaker 4: was like born. So you know, I started watching for
- 7:00Speaker 4: when I was like fourteen fifteen, back in the eighties
- 7:05Speaker 4: and so but I've been watching ever since and I've
- 7:08Speaker 4: loved it. I read the book on it and everything.
- 7:10Speaker 4: The problem is I don't have a great memory.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I think that'll be broadly fine, Togain.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Honestly, so many times people have had too much knowledge
- 7:22Speaker 5: and it's gotten in the way where it's like, but
- 7:25Speaker 5: I think it might be this. Matt's only had two
- 7:27Speaker 5: weeks to research this, and so you if you outthink him.
- 7:32Speaker 6: You might be wrong.
- 7:34Speaker 3: The important thing to remember, too, is all of the
- 7:36Speaker 3: cast members from the eighties and nineties were extremely high
- 7:40Speaker 3: on Kochie. They don't really remember.
- 7:42Speaker 1: That's that's such a good point. Although Round one will
- 7:46Speaker 1: be listing every single sketch in order from the beginning
- 7:49Speaker 1: of time over the cost of the last week, I
- 7:51Speaker 1: guess yeah, okay, teams, you've arrived for your first day
- 7:57Speaker 1: on the SNL cast, but you bet a team up
- 8:00Speaker 1: and form a clique or Lorn will fire you at
- 8:02Speaker 1: the end of the season. So I'd like each pair
- 8:05Speaker 1: to find some comedic cohesion and come up with an
- 8:08Speaker 1: SNL themed team name. Please, let's start with Jason and Ethan.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Have you got any ideas? I don't.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I racked my brain over this. I really don't know
- 8:16Speaker 2: anything about SNL. The best I could come up with
- 8:18Speaker 2: for a team name was the Papaya Scripts, after my
- 8:22Speaker 2: favorite sketch of Snough.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'm not even familiar with that.
- 8:25Speaker 1: What's the explain comedy to us because that's always funny.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Describe the sketch.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yes, it's Ryan Darstling freaking out of the avatar fond
- 8:36Speaker 2: just being in Papaya.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Pyris fuck. Do you want us to put the lines
- 8:42Speaker 1: on a que card or something.
- 8:44Speaker 2: It's Papya script, you idiot. That's the team name. I'm
- 8:48Speaker 2: the captain.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, I'll shit a reference to nothing. That's
- 8:55Speaker 1: so in line for this podcast, you know what I mean?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Do you have any ideas or you happy to go
- 9:00Speaker 1: with Papya script?
- 9:01Speaker 3: You know what? I had plenty of great ideas, but
- 9:04Speaker 3: none could be better than the classic Saturday Night Life
- 9:09Speaker 3: reference Papaya script. Bryan gool Love, Ryan gooselingh brilliant.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Okay, well we've got Papaya script. Let's let's find out
- 9:22Speaker 1: who they'll be facing, Aldra Troy. You've got any ideas
- 9:25Speaker 1: that make sense?
- 9:27Speaker 4: That makes sense?
- 9:30Speaker 5: I say a couple and I hold up three fingers.
- 9:32Speaker 5: That counts sn hell. Oh good, say major as SNL
- 9:38Speaker 5: because SNL is fifty as well.
- 9:39Speaker 6: And we went to your fiftieth birthday.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Wow in Troy.
- 9:42Speaker 5: The sorry next one doesn't do it's fiftieth birthday celebration.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Fiftieth birthday celebration. Yes, a good team name. Yes, yeah
- 9:55Speaker 1: you recently you recently turned fifty, just like SNL did.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Did you feel some kind of action?
- 10:00Speaker 4: But I look forty five, the loudest question mark, Yes,
- 10:12Speaker 4: I did turn fifty yeap what.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Do you like any of those references? Have you got
- 10:17Speaker 1: any idea?
- 10:17Speaker 4: Those are all great? I was trying to think. All
- 10:20Speaker 4: I could think of was the comedians that are called
- 10:22Speaker 4: the not quite ready for prime time players, right hmm.
- 10:26Speaker 4: I was thinking, like, not quite ready for prime rib players.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Because because you're vegetarian, because you got to be watching
- 10:36Speaker 3: you're a vegetarian.
- 10:37Speaker 4: I have to watch my cluster levels.
- 10:41Speaker 2: That makes about as much sense as the Papias.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It makes more sense. Is that the one you go
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm starting to type it, is that what you're going with? Yeah?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Not quite ready for prime rip players? Yes, very good. Okay,
- 11:00Speaker 1: we have the very classic combination here of Papias script
- 11:05Speaker 1: versus not quite ready for prime rib players too easy
- 11:09Speaker 1: to understand team names. This is why I can't do
- 11:14Speaker 1: You just did it. You've been doing it now for
- 11:19Speaker 1: fourteen minutes.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Oh, then I can totally do it. You know, every
- 11:23Speaker 4: conversation is improv That's true. I never know how my
- 11:27Speaker 4: conversation is going to end. Yeah, start them.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I pay a Q card guy to stay up people I.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Talk to, all right, and if you're listening to this
- 11:36Speaker 1: and thinking, I live outside the US, so SNL has
- 11:39Speaker 1: no bearing on my reading of dominant culture. Don't worry
- 11:42Speaker 1: his order With an opening monologue that we like to
- 11:45Speaker 1: call passing knowledge, we should probably have opened that.
- 11:51Speaker 5: SNL is an American late night sketch comedy variety show
- 11:55Speaker 5: God That's a lot of Things.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Good honor.
- 11:59Speaker 5: Created by Lorn Myke and airing on NBC. The show
- 12:02Speaker 5: premiered in nineteen seventy five under the original title NBC's
- 12:06Speaker 5: Saturday Night but it took all the cocaine of the
- 12:09Speaker 5: eighties to perfect the branding, and Saturday Night Live was born.
- 12:17Speaker 5: The show's comedy sketches often parody popular culture and current events.
- 12:22Speaker 5: You know, like doing a.
- 12:23Speaker 6: Sketch about blue oyster cult in the year two thousand,
- 12:27Speaker 6: very relevant. Each show is hosted by a celebrity guest he, she, they,
- 12:33Speaker 6: or Alec.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Baldwin deliver an opening monologue to perform sketches with the
- 12:37Speaker 5: cast and promote their latest shitty movie. There's also a
- 12:41Speaker 5: musical guest, and you're starting to only recognize one or
- 12:44Speaker 5: two per season.
- 12:46Speaker 6: You're old.
- 12:47Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 12:49Speaker 5: The cast of Saturday Night Live has spawned the careers
- 12:52Speaker 5: of so many mainstays of comedy, and in the spirit
- 12:56Speaker 5: of SNL, i'll list them all, interspersed with footage of
- 13:00Speaker 5: the New York City Skyline with some upbeat jazzy music underneath. Wait,
- 13:05Speaker 5: I'm actually hearing from the booth that they don't need
- 13:07Speaker 5: that minute in thirty five seconds to swap over the
- 13:09Speaker 5: set after all, So we'll just forget about that. Let's
- 13:13Speaker 5: play Pandemonium.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yay, thank you, Odra. Alec Boldwin the fourth gender.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Yes, it's now a full, a full like two axes.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Uh huh, how much, Alec Boldwin? Are you sixty six?
- 13:33Speaker 1: That's a lot.
- 13:35Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, you'll never guess which sixty two?
- 13:40Speaker 1: Okay, Just before we get to today's games, I've asked
- 13:43Speaker 1: each player to bring in a muse, something that inspires
- 13:46Speaker 1: them or something they love from this particular fandom. SNL
- 13:49Speaker 1: is inspiring to me because it says if you said
- 13:52Speaker 1: a deadline and work to it, you can produce half
- 13:54Speaker 1: You can produce half baked comedy at regular intervals. And
- 13:57Speaker 1: you know what, the fact that I flubped that line
- 14:00Speaker 1: sums it all up here. Yeah, Jason, we'll start with you,
- 14:03Speaker 1: the super fan yes, yes, what's inspiring you from the
- 14:07Speaker 1: world of Saturday Night Live.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I just love the idea that there is there's a
- 14:13Speaker 2: format out there, a media platform that is at the
- 14:17Speaker 2: zenif of culture that says, hey, you're doing a cool thing.
- 14:21Speaker 2: We're going to go ahead and put you on a
- 14:23Speaker 2: spot and let you advertise that and put yourself out there.
- 14:28Speaker 2: And I get stopped constantly by fans of gate Leapers
- 14:31Speaker 2: who are like, dude, I fucking love what you're doing.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I'm gateleaping all the time. They use it, they use
- 14:36Speaker 2: it colloquially, we coined that we did that, And I'm
- 14:40Speaker 2: just a big fan of us. That's my only touchstone
- 14:44Speaker 2: to any of this at all. Okay, nice, I'm probably
- 14:46Speaker 2: the Pete Davidson of this, which doesn't bode well. I'm
- 14:51Speaker 2: just like this cracked out, weird guy with mental health issues,
- 14:54Speaker 2: and he's not actually that funny if you think about it.
- 14:59Speaker 6: He's gonna be so mad.
- 15:00Speaker 1: He listens to everyone. He's going to be Yeah. He's
- 15:03Speaker 1: one of the fans that runs into you and says, yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 1: I luckily all the time, I'm like ski please, okay, yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 1: good good news. Good to be inspired by us. Fantastic.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Let's let's move on over to your papa as script
- 15:19Speaker 1: teammate Ethan. What's inspiring you from the world of SNL.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I always thought it's impressive that you sort of think
- 15:26Speaker 3: of Saturday Night Live as like the pinnacle of a
- 15:28Speaker 3: pathway for performers who are like not great at acting,
- 15:32Speaker 3: but then you can still somehow turn some of those
- 15:37Speaker 3: characters into full feature length movies, yes, where you're still
- 15:40Speaker 3: not great, And it just gives me hope as someone
- 15:45Speaker 3: who I think is not that great an.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Acting the one day you could be in Magriba.
- 15:52Speaker 3: If only I could be, if I could be ten
- 15:54Speaker 3: percent more Alec Baldwin and.
- 15:56Speaker 4: In mcgroup or Pat remember the movie No, what's the character?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Wow, it's Papyrus, you idiot. Oh yeah, that's great. SNL
- 16:13Speaker 1: gives us hope. I mean I did, like, it is
- 16:15Speaker 1: very impressive that they do it all live. It is
- 16:17Speaker 1: like done in a week and everything like that. But
- 16:19Speaker 1: I do also often think that thing of like, was
- 16:22Speaker 1: that a good performance?
- 16:25Speaker 3: If? Yeah, they're more often just having fun. And I
- 16:27Speaker 3: think the movie expansions upon sketch premises is like just
- 16:33Speaker 3: an exercise in narcissism, Like Wow, how long can we
- 16:38Speaker 3: be Wayne from Wayne's World?
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yeah, the idea of coming up with a premise that, like, yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 1: this will work for three to five minutes, let's do
- 16:49Speaker 1: it for ninety.
- 16:50Speaker 3: To one hundred wild ambition, which.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Is inspiring, So excellent, muse. I'm feeling very inspired by
- 16:58Speaker 1: Papia script. But let's find out what they're not quite
- 17:02Speaker 1: ready for prime rip players are inspired by Troy.
- 17:06Speaker 4: You know, it's funny. I just started doing improud stuff
- 17:10Speaker 4: about a year ago. I'm fifty, and I think maybe
- 17:14Speaker 4: I could still make it on Saturday. I could do that, right, So,
- 17:21Speaker 4: And like you mentioned before, in college, Brendon and I
- 17:23Speaker 4: had a TV show where we just did sketches. So
- 17:27Speaker 4: we were very much inspired by Saturday Night Live.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Do you have any recurring sketches that you had on
- 17:35Speaker 1: that you could remember that you could repeat.
- 17:37Speaker 4: We used to do a soap opera nice and it
- 17:40Speaker 4: was called why did This have to Happen? And every
- 17:43Speaker 4: episode ended with why did this happen?
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so, just broadly inspired by that. You may one
- 17:54Speaker 1: day still be on the cast.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I could do it. I'm gonna quit teaching soon here, right,
- 18:00Speaker 4: that's all it takes. Yes, I just got to Clinton
- 18:03Speaker 4: go for it.
- 18:05Speaker 1: That's I mean, that's what they're missing, to be honest. Yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 1: and you can turn up and say, look, I am
- 18:10Speaker 1: as old as this show. That's God account for something.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Yes, I think that would work.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Sorry to keep bringing up that you fit.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I know.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I didn't know that. I try to forget every day.
- 18:25Speaker 1: If SNL was currently fifty three years old, I wouldn't
- 18:28Speaker 1: have even thought about it. But it's just the how this,
- 18:30Speaker 1: how this sinks up happenstance, but very inspiring Troy. Anything
- 18:35Speaker 1: can happen. Yes, anything, And oh Joe, what about you?
- 18:37Speaker 1: What inspires you from SNL?
- 18:39Speaker 5: It's just even though I haven't watched it actively, it
- 18:42Speaker 5: has been there for like very specific moments in my life.
- 18:47Speaker 5: And the main example I can think of is I
- 18:53Speaker 5: grew up super, super religious, and I had a group
- 18:56Speaker 5: of female friends who were like leaving religion. And I
- 18:59Speaker 5: was the first one of that group of friends to
- 19:02Speaker 5: lose their virginity brag because, you know, just because of
- 19:07Speaker 5: the way that I am. And I came back to
- 19:11Speaker 5: the apartment and when I walked in the door, they
- 19:13Speaker 5: played I just had sex and gave me an edible
- 19:16Speaker 5: arrangement and it was one of the most beautiful days.
- 19:20Speaker 5: There were sparklers. It was just it was a wonderful time.
- 19:24Speaker 1: That is that's fantastic, And that is such a group
- 19:26Speaker 1: of virgins. Response. Yes, absolutely, gonna PLAYNL sketch. Yes, and
- 19:34Speaker 1: it was God, it was so lame.
- 19:36Speaker 5: I mean, I wasn't a virgin anymore, so they were
- 19:38Speaker 5: just like a bunch of virgins.
- 19:39Speaker 8: But it was very touching. Yes, I'm just curious how
- 19:44Speaker 8: did they know them immediately? Like I just had sex.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Updates comment, Female friendships are wild. I'm going to grow
- 20:05Speaker 5: that out there also, anytime, anytime you have gone on
- 20:09Speaker 5: a date and had sex, she knew twenty four hours
- 20:11Speaker 5: before that, but that was gonna happen min Wow, Like
- 20:19Speaker 5: she has shaved from head to toe her underwear match
- 20:23Speaker 5: she fucking knew.
- 20:24Speaker 4: That does make sense now that I think about it.
- 20:28Speaker 1: She didn't change her underwear twenty four hours before red flag.
- 20:33Speaker 6: Poke holes in the bit.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's fine. No, that is very inspiring, Uldra, You've inspired me.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I'm feeling very inspired, inspired enough to throw some games
- 20:45Speaker 1: at you guys. You ready, hell yeah, all right, okay,
- 20:48Speaker 1: teams join in if you know this one. Now that
- 20:50Speaker 1: our opening skit is done pre recorded in Colorado Springs.
- 20:54Speaker 1: It's Sunday Morning, Fuck you All Round one is our
- 21:04Speaker 1: classic game of elimination, deliberation, and deception that this time
- 21:08Speaker 1: we're calling Saturday Night Lies. Ooo, that's the reaction I
- 21:14Speaker 1: was hoping for. I will name a category, and then
- 21:17Speaker 1: in turns, I will give each team five things supposedly
- 21:20Speaker 1: from that category. Three of them will be correct answers
- 21:23Speaker 1: and two will be complete jokes. Correct select correct answers
- 21:28Speaker 1: one by one for a point each, but choose a
- 21:30Speaker 1: wrong answer and you'll be frozen out of the list,
- 21:34Speaker 1: like a really cold open. So I think we will
- 21:40Speaker 1: begin with a list for Papaya script and the first
- 21:44Speaker 1: category is guest hosts, people who have guest hosted Saturday
- 21:48Speaker 1: Night Live. So here is your list of five names.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Dwayne Johnson, Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Alan Cumming, and Ronald breaking.
- 22:01Speaker 2: WHOA, I do not feel the rock at all, but
- 22:07Speaker 2: Meryl Streep is it's gotta be.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure I do think that she has my
- 22:14Speaker 3: other suspicion because there are two lies and your two lies. Okay, yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 3: I think Ronald Reacan feels perhaps like a.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Stretch, but who knows.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Let's let's at least go Meryl Streep because we're the strongest,
- 22:31Speaker 2: confident feeling on Meryl Streep.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Right, yeah, I think, yeah, feel the strongest on Meryl Streep.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Meryl Streep, say, Meryl Streep is your first answer? Yeah,
- 22:40Speaker 1: Meryl Streep has never hosted. Yes, I am so sorry you.
- 22:45Speaker 1: That's the first freeze out we've had on that game
- 22:49Speaker 1: for a long time.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Wow, those guys are bad.
- 22:53Speaker 1: These are really looking at me. I think this is
- 22:56Speaker 1: going to be an easy one. Has the Rocks not
- 22:59Speaker 1: only is the Rock host, he's I think five.
- 23:05Speaker 3: We're going to get there.
- 23:05Speaker 1: When we got there, I agree with you.
- 23:08Speaker 3: I was like, I feel like I have a distinct
- 23:10Speaker 3: memory works.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah, you think you should probably over rull Jason. I'm
- 23:18Speaker 1: pretty much found.
- 23:20Speaker 3: We thought, wait, just so, are you do you need
- 23:23Speaker 3: the withhold the information of Ronald Reagan that.
- 23:27Speaker 1: No I can I can now reveal? Okay, yeah, was
- 23:29Speaker 1: he so? Yes? Ronald Reagan did host. Le Caprio right,
- 23:35Speaker 1: Leo DiCaprio and Meryl Streep did not host.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I felt good about Alan cumming. We should have we
- 23:40Speaker 2: should should have.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Should damnation the the Ronald Reagan want is a little tricksy,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and that it was his son who hosted it, who
- 23:51Speaker 1: was Ronald Reagan. You're a bastard and a liar. Yeah,
- 23:56Speaker 1: that's that's I'm the game's mastery.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like saying that Michael B. Jordan hosted it,
- 24:01Speaker 3: but Michael.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Technically true.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you're describing how I treat you. Yeah, so no
- 24:10Speaker 1: points there for that past. But don't worry. There'll be
- 24:12Speaker 1: another category chance the skull points. You won't worry, you
- 24:15Speaker 1: don't care. Okay, let's have a list of guest hosts
- 24:20Speaker 1: for not quite ready for Prime RIB players. Here is
- 24:22Speaker 1: your list of five names. Emma Stone, Matt Damon, Keanu Reeves,
- 24:29Speaker 1: Elon Musk, and Kermit the Frog.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Okay, I know Kermit the Frog is.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna trust you, obviously.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I just have a memory of that.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Okay, the hand up, No, he's the hand up Donald Trump's.
- 24:47Speaker 5: So we're gonna we're gonna lock in Kermit.
- 24:49Speaker 1: You're gonna know with Kermet if if you're okay.
- 24:52Speaker 4: With that, well, I don't know if that's the first one. Okay, Okay,
- 24:58Speaker 4: I swear I do have a memory.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Of Troy's figuring out the game. Now it's like which one,
- 25:02Speaker 1: which one do you feel the most? Hemistonemstone for sure, Emmistone.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Go with Emmistone, Yeah, because I have a memory of
- 25:09Speaker 5: that too.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Emmistone absolutely was on. Okay, so we're losing.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I thought this was whose line? Is it anyway?
- 25:16Speaker 1: Where?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Oh?
- 25:19Speaker 4: They matter?
- 25:20Speaker 2: We have this thing called sat Leapers. They kind of matter.
- 25:24Speaker 2: That's my whole job on gate Leapers.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Who are the other ones? Again?
- 25:29Speaker 1: You have Matt Damon, Keanu Reeves, Elon Musk and come
- 25:33Speaker 1: at the Frog.
- 25:34Speaker 4: There's no way.
- 25:36Speaker 5: He probably fucking has just because every time I say
- 25:39Speaker 5: there's no way, Elon Musk.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Said always shifts. He's a gamer that gets comedy.
- 25:50Speaker 4: The two of them think you that didn't is Matt
- 25:52Speaker 4: Damon and Keanu Reeves.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I don't know why, but I feel like I have
- 25:57Speaker 5: a memory of Keanu doing it. But I I should
- 26:00Speaker 5: not be trusted in this space. Do you feel most
- 26:03Speaker 5: confident about Kermit at the Yeah?
- 26:04Speaker 1: I feel pretty condit. You're going with Kermit.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Let's go for Kermit, Let's go for amit of them,
- 26:11Speaker 2: I was like, you forgot about Kermit?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Didn't you go for the Gambit? Well, they should have
- 26:16Speaker 1: gone with Elon because Cermit the Frog has never He's
- 26:20Speaker 1: appeared on it a couple of times, but he's never
- 26:21Speaker 1: been the host. Because the Muppets were part of the
- 26:25Speaker 1: snl uh huh. They definitely did some stuff in the
- 26:27Speaker 1: early days before lorn ostracized Jim Henson. I'll make them
- 26:32Speaker 1: celebrity rumors for fifty years ago. So never did Elon
- 26:36Speaker 1: must did? Yeah he did, he did a few years ago. Yeah,
- 26:39Speaker 1: he hosted Saturdy Night Live. Keanu Reeves didn't, and Matt
- 26:43Speaker 1: Damon did. There you go wow, but you got a point.
- 26:46Speaker 1: You got on, so well done.
- 26:48Speaker 2: We're still losing by one.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Let's see if you can catch up. Now, Papaa's script.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Here is the next category. The next category cast members.
- 26:59Speaker 1: He blue have been cast members on Saturday Night Live.
- 27:02Speaker 1: So here's your list of cast members. Catherine Hahn, Gilbert Gottfried,
- 27:08Speaker 1: Austin Ryeback, Chris Parnell, and Robert Downey Jr.
- 27:12Speaker 2: How because Robert Downe June would have guest start, he
- 27:15Speaker 2: wouldn't have cast it, right, I don't think he was
- 27:17Speaker 2: a cast Yeah, yeah, yeah. Chris Parnell, I feel like was.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Chris Bernell definitely was a cast member. Yeah, I can
- 27:23Speaker 3: lock that in.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Then we locked that in. Yeah, score point this time.
- 27:26Speaker 2: You don't have second feelings about Chris Parnell A Lazy Sunday.
- 27:33Speaker 1: And other references Chris Barnell absolutely, all right, good stuff?
- 27:39Speaker 4: All right?
- 27:39Speaker 1: The other people?
- 27:40Speaker 3: Okay, what what were the first couple names?
- 27:43Speaker 1: The first couple Catherine Hahn and Gilbert Gottfried.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I'm not sure about gil Okay, who the who the
- 27:49Speaker 2: heck is Austin Ryback.
- 27:50Speaker 3: I don't recognize the name, which makes me think that
- 27:53Speaker 3: he was a cast member.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Yeah, statistics, Shay right, Like, there's there's only two lies there.
- 27:59Speaker 1: How do we how are we feeling about Katherine Hahn?
- 28:01Speaker 3: If Catherine hon is who I'm thinking of, I think
- 28:03Speaker 3: she was a cast member. Okay, so I would say
- 28:06Speaker 3: that's my next most memorable name.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, should we go Catherine Hon then Austin right Back.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Okay, Katherine Hahn first.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Okay, Catherine Hahn first, and it's not gonna matter who's second,
- 28:19Speaker 1: because Catherine Hahn was not a cast member. It was
- 28:22Speaker 1: Robert Downey Junior. Remember cast Downey Jr. Was a cast
- 28:26Speaker 1: member for one season. It was like before he got
- 28:29Speaker 1: very famous. I think it was when SNL was a
- 28:32Speaker 1: dip in the mid to late eighties. They brought in
- 28:34Speaker 1: a bunch of young season.
- 28:38Speaker 4: A kid from Vacation.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Oh sure, yeah, yeah, that's not who I was thinking of,
- 28:44Speaker 1: But I was the kid from the Breakfast Club was
- 28:46Speaker 1: in it.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's the same kid. But yeah, it was
- 28:50Speaker 4: a horrible season.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Gilbert Godfried the other person, Gilbert Gottfried was.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he was. Who's Austin Rye back? Austin right back
- 29:00Speaker 1: exactly how Ethan described. I made up the name to
- 29:03Speaker 1: make him sound like, to make him sound like the
- 29:05Speaker 1: kind of person who would have been on SNL in
- 29:07Speaker 1: five or ten years. So we got the two people, Yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 1: pretty much. But you've got Chris Parnell. Now, yeah, that's great. Cyril,
- 29:19Speaker 1: which is where I know him from. That's great. He's
- 29:22Speaker 1: a great actor. Okay, let's have a list of cast
- 29:25Speaker 1: members now for not quite ready for Prime Rib players.
- 29:28Speaker 1: It's got to be some kind of acronym for that
- 29:30Speaker 1: I can say. Instead, I've wasted more time saying this
- 29:33Speaker 1: Prime Rib that Prime Rib.
- 29:36Speaker 6: Follow your heart.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Here is your list of cast members. Rachel Dratch, Steve Martin,
- 29:44Speaker 1: Tim Robinson, Jessica Williams and Aristotle Athari.
- 29:50Speaker 4: That's what sounds like. So I know Steve Martin was not.
- 29:58Speaker 4: He guess hosted like a ton of times, like ten
- 30:01Speaker 4: times or something, but I don't think he was ever
- 30:04Speaker 4: officially a cast member. But who was the first one?
- 30:07Speaker 1: The first one, Rachel Dratch.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Yeah that I recognize.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Going with Rachel Dratch, yes, for sure. Absolutely, another very
- 30:15Speaker 1: talented cast member from SNL.
- 30:17Speaker 4: I didn't really recognize you. There's Steve Martin.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you got Steve Martin, Tim Robinson, Jessica Williams, and
- 30:25Speaker 1: Aristotle Afariim was okay.
- 30:29Speaker 4: He wasn't super successful on there, which is odd because
- 30:32Speaker 4: he's the one from I think you.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Should leave right, Yeah, yeah he was for sure.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Hell yeah, we'll lock it in.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Hell yeah, you're locking it in. It absolutely is Tim
- 30:40Speaker 1: Robinson and for the exact purpose and reason that Troy
- 30:44Speaker 1: described it. Heck, yes, I think it's just be a
- 30:47Speaker 1: wild swing.
- 30:48Speaker 4: I think Steve Martin was not cool, Okay, respecting that in.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you're left with Jessica Williams and Aristotle Afari.
- 30:59Speaker 4: So there's two that were not.
- 31:01Speaker 6: Yeah, two of these people are not well.
- 31:04Speaker 1: One of those two if you're if you're saying that
- 31:06Speaker 1: Steve Martin, Yes, Steve.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Martin is already eliminated.
- 31:09Speaker 1: One of those was yes, can you say that the names? Yeah?
- 31:13Speaker 5: Absolutely, say them three times fast, Yeah, one time back.
- 31:18Speaker 2: I think Troy is fifty.
- 31:22Speaker 4: I should write this down.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Would it help if I say them slower?
- 31:29Speaker 4: Let me turn my hearing.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Jessica Williams Aristotle Athari. I do not recoon it me either. Yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 1: let's go for it. You're saying Aristotle athari Yeah, a
- 31:46Speaker 1: name that sounds made up, but it's not. He was
- 31:48Speaker 1: on the cast within in like twenty twenty one or
- 31:52Speaker 1: something like that. Oh so that is that's a point.
- 31:55Speaker 1: You completed your list three for three.
- 31:57Speaker 2: There, damn yes. I can't believe Steve Martin was not.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I thought he was famous.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I think he was.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like holds maybe the record for being one
- 32:06Speaker 3: of the most hosts. It's like him host with the most.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Troy didn't didn't fall for that, and Jessica Williams was
- 32:16Speaker 1: on the cast of the Daily Show for quite a while.
- 32:21Speaker 1: All Right, one last category in this round, and look
- 32:25Speaker 1: we'll complete the set. It's musical guests. We're looking for
- 32:28Speaker 1: musical artists who appeared on SNL. Let's see if you
- 32:32Speaker 1: recognize these these artists and bands. So, first of all,
- 32:35Speaker 1: Papias script, here is your list of five. Michael Jackson,
- 32:39Speaker 1: Charlie XCX, Radiohead, Nickelback, and Diddy.
- 32:45Speaker 2: God damn. I feel like Charlie XCX was recent. I
- 32:48Speaker 2: think that sounds like yeah yeah, like last week, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 32:54Speaker 2: it may have been like today, like yeah yeah, on
- 32:57Speaker 2: Sunday morning.
- 32:59Speaker 1: You with Charlie xx Yeah, ye one hundred percent, Charli
- 33:03Speaker 1: X Yeah, hell yeah, brother Charlie famous catchphrase, I hope
- 33:10Speaker 1: he's doing well.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I do. I feel like, somewhere in the back of
- 33:17Speaker 3: my brain radio Head, I remember some dead eyed host
- 33:21Speaker 3: having to say, like and now musical guests radio.
- 33:27Speaker 2: And as a white man in his thirties, I'm I'm
- 33:29Speaker 2: here to validate your with your.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I trust your thanks for choosing this platform to come out.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Yeah, thirteen percent, Alec Baldwin, the rest of guy, that's
- 33:48Speaker 3: tell yellow job. Let's look in Radiohead. I think that
- 33:51Speaker 3: I think that I have a memory.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Going with Radiohead. Yeah. I think you must have some
- 33:55Speaker 1: memory back there ething, because that absolutely happened. I'm sure
- 33:59Speaker 1: it was with the dead eyed introduction as well. They
- 34:02Speaker 1: come back.
- 34:03Speaker 2: All right, now we got Michael Jackson, ye, Nickelback, Yeah,
- 34:07Speaker 2: and who else Diddy Diddy controversial.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Feels like they would.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I mean, Michael Jackson, I feel like you would have
- 34:18Speaker 3: remembered that. Yeah, I feel like that would have been.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Is he being tricksy? Is it like Jackson five era
- 34:23Speaker 2: Michael Jackson or something like that? Very well, I don't
- 34:26Speaker 2: know the timelines.
- 34:27Speaker 3: I don't think the timeline lines.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Is it Michael B. Jackson?
- 34:35Speaker 2: That Nickelback feels real too, It.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Does feel real. Yeah, It's another one that I feel
- 34:42Speaker 3: like could have been and no one was like thrilled
- 34:45Speaker 3: about it. And then Diddy is one that they would
- 34:48Speaker 3: like sweep under the carpet. Yeah, but yeah, Michael Jackson
- 34:51Speaker 3: would be like the crown jewel.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and you would have remembered that. So I think
- 34:55Speaker 2: we can cancel that out. As am my team captain here,
- 34:58Speaker 2: what's happening? Yeah, Well, say came up with the great name,
- 35:03Speaker 2: and by that logic, I'm deferring to you. You have
- 35:05Speaker 2: executive function here. I'm not going to choose.
- 35:08Speaker 3: All right, let's let's go with then we'll take a swing.
- 35:11Speaker 3: We'll say the real one is.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Diddy, saying the real one is Diddy Sean Combs. SNL
- 35:18Speaker 1: a couple of times may have platformed a monster.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I know there have been other times.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I mean, like, isn't it like four of the of
- 35:26Speaker 2: the Hope people who've hosted like have committed murders.
- 35:28Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure OJ was one of those.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they've got a rogues gallery.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because I think at the fifty if they were,
- 35:34Speaker 2: like someone had joked that two of the SNL hosts
- 35:37Speaker 2: had committed murder, and then there was an article that went,
- 35:39Speaker 2: which of these people, Yeah, here's ten.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Well, I don't necessarily think Diddy is accused of murder,
- 35:46Speaker 1: but he absolutely well Yeah, so congratulations three, you're completed
- 35:52Speaker 1: the list. Yeah, nickel Back surprisingly not done SNL. I
- 35:55Speaker 1: fgured they would have done.
- 35:56Speaker 4: It's crazy that Michael Jackson never.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Did you think Janet has Channing?
- 36:01Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 36:01Speaker 2: She probably probably Tito, Yeah, I gotta be.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Jackson. Tito asked a lot. I just threw him about Lauren.
- 36:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 36:16Speaker 3: We could have Tito Jackson on, or we got the
- 36:21Speaker 3: the cat that plays our keyboard.
- 36:24Speaker 1: We'll just not have a musical.
- 36:27Speaker 4: Let's just get a nickel back.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It's not Tito noises. All right, let's let's have a
- 36:36Speaker 1: final list of musical guests.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Get Troy's reading glasses, so low down on your nose.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Here is your list. Vanilla Ice, the Jonas Brothers, guns
- 36:58Speaker 1: and Roses, my Chemical Romance, and weird Awl. These are
- 37:03Speaker 1: good ones too. Oh I went quite fast that try.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 37:07Speaker 4: I got it so I knew.
- 37:09Speaker 5: I knew a couple of theirs. I know none of these.
- 37:13Speaker 5: I have zero.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Well, let's see, trying to think of Vanilla Eyes, I
- 37:19Speaker 4: would think he did everything back when he was on fire.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Surprising for a guy called Vanilla Eyes.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Jonas Brothers.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Mayhaps that Disney money. They just push them in front
- 37:34Speaker 5: of his many eyes as humanly possible.
- 37:36Speaker 4: All of these sound like they should have been out
- 37:38Speaker 4: there at some point.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I'm also currently envisioning this conversation as Adra and her dad.
- 37:45Speaker 4: Breakfast, and I was feeling so good this morning. I'll
- 37:49Speaker 4: be young, I'm ready to go. You are. Don't listen
- 37:54Speaker 4: to the Troy Back to my old folks home and
- 37:56Speaker 4: eating mushed.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Remember musical Jonahs Brothers, A Hey, trying to know van Yeah,
- 38:07Speaker 1: he's current.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Yeah, let's say Vanilla Ice was.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you say Vanilla Ice, Yes he did? Yes?
- 38:15Speaker 4: Good?
- 38:16Speaker 7: Cool?
- 38:17Speaker 5: Sure, I have no idea, but I feel like I
- 38:25Speaker 5: feel like the Jonas brothers may have I know, I
- 38:29Speaker 5: feel like they may have.
- 38:30Speaker 1: You feel like they may have.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Yes, So if I'm wrong, we can't be mad.
- 38:39Speaker 4: That's the rule. Well, I as popular as guns and Roses, Well,
- 38:44Speaker 4: I don't. I kind of feel like weird L was.
- 38:47Speaker 5: I'm going to trust your memory over mine on this.
- 38:50Speaker 5: I'd be more comfortable locking that one in first.
- 38:53Speaker 4: It could be though I had a roommate in the
- 38:55Speaker 4: Army who listened to Weird Al twenty four to seven.
- 38:59Speaker 4: That could just be that. That's break. Let's go with
- 39:03Speaker 4: Jonah's brothers.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Okay, Jonas brothers. Next, they had to Yeah they did,
- 39:10Speaker 1: they did. That's a point, that's right. Weird Now, Yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 1: let's go.
- 39:15Speaker 3: We're on a roll.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It must have been Troy's live SNL performances. Yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 1: my chemical romance was the other bands.
- 39:27Speaker 4: Them.
- 39:27Speaker 2: What's really interesting is I feel like a lot of
- 39:29Speaker 2: these actuals said they were popular like in the early
- 39:31Speaker 2: two thousands, but I feel like they performed recently on
- 39:34Speaker 2: sn O, like the Jonahs brothers probably performed when they
- 39:36Speaker 2: were adults, not when they were teens. My chemical remis
- 39:39Speaker 2: I feel like during the Reunion era in the twenties,
- 39:43Speaker 2: That's how I feel.
- 39:44Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, Saturday Live is is certainly the pinnacle
- 39:47Speaker 3: for like comedic actors, Like that's where you want to go,
- 39:50Speaker 3: but it's kind of where musical artists go to die.
- 39:54Speaker 3: They're only circling back to doing it. Yeah, yeah, at least, Yeah,
- 39:59Speaker 3: that's that's tip what happens.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so probably yeah, I mean definitely the Jonas brothers,
- 40:03Speaker 1: they did a recent one during their reunion. I'm not
- 40:05Speaker 1: sure Vanilla Ice has been on recently, but no, yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 2: That's fair. He was at the height of his popular
- 40:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he had to promote it.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Yeah, like I know, like not that Lady Gaga isn't
- 40:19Speaker 3: popular now, but certainly her explosion and rise was ten
- 40:24Speaker 3: years ago, years ago. Yeah, and she was just on
- 40:27Speaker 3: like yeah, like.
- 40:29Speaker 1: The step before a Vegas residence.
- 40:33Speaker 4: That's their audition for that.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Just a lot of budding Chicago improv students hoping that
- 40:45Speaker 1: they get a Vegas residence. All right, good stuff. That's
- 40:49Speaker 1: the end. Of round one. I guess I'll get someone
- 40:51Speaker 1: smart to calculate the latest scores. Let's ask the guy
- 40:55Speaker 1: who is cited by his fellow cast mates as the
- 40:57Speaker 1: smartest cast member of all time, Adam Sandler. Oh God,
- 41:02Speaker 1: help us allow those scores are so we have Papayas
- 41:13Speaker 1: script are on four points and the prime rip players
- 41:15Speaker 1: are on six points.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Yeah, not insurmountable.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Up next is round two, after these commercials for one,
- 41:24Speaker 1: eight hundred Flowers, NERF Crotch Bats, and Taco Town backsing.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Round two is called sketch It. I'll be asking our
- 41:38Speaker 1: players to improvise sketches based on premises. For me, Lorne Michaels.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I have no idea what Lawn Michaels sounds like, so
- 41:46Speaker 1: I can only assume it's something like this.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Wow, you're so close. I'm sent sure that Doctor Evil is.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:55Speaker 3: So, if you're familiar with what doctor Evil sounds like.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Does he sound like this.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Excellent Doctor Evils, the Michael Meyers character. He's the parody
- 42:07Speaker 2: of a Blowfeld where he's like.
- 42:10Speaker 4: One billion dollars.
- 42:13Speaker 1: One billion dollars.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Yeah, let's that change now, just Christopher Lee.
- 42:20Speaker 1: It kind of is the catches they'll only be allowed
- 42:25Speaker 1: to use a certain number of words at a time,
- 42:27Speaker 1: because I Lord Michaels like to make things difficult for
- 42:31Speaker 1: comedians by imposing time deadlines disguised as creative constraints. So
- 42:37Speaker 1: your creative constraints will be the number of words you
- 42:39Speaker 1: can use at a time in this scene. So we
- 42:42Speaker 1: will begin with papious script. I think we're gonna be
- 42:46Speaker 1: in with you, guys, and I'm going to give you
- 42:50Speaker 1: the sketch premise of an animal rights activist interrupts a
- 42:55Speaker 1: Pokemon battle. Ethan, you are only allowed to speak using
- 42:59Speaker 1: eleven words, oh more fingers than I have. Yeah, and
- 43:03Speaker 1: Jason three words?
- 43:05Speaker 2: All right, well I got fingers of spare. Oh yeah,
- 43:08Speaker 2: you go all right?
- 43:10Speaker 1: Nice And whenever you're ready, whoever wants to take it away,
- 43:13Speaker 1: peek atch you.
- 43:15Speaker 3: I choose you to unethically battle this Blast Toys. Get a.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Blast Toys feels bad?
- 43:32Speaker 2: I like you've justen to me blast Is that the
- 43:36Speaker 2: whole sketchuit of it? Or is it at a time?
- 43:38Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 43:38Speaker 1: Keep going back?
- 43:39Speaker 2: Oh thank god, Yeah, that's what I thought this place was.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Okay, okay, Blast Toys. Since when do you support Peter?
- 43:49Speaker 3: And what your freedom.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Blast Toys Herd podcast, nice.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Damn podcasts. As an eleven year old Pokemon trainer, me.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Sad kind of be the animal rights activists at some
- 44:14Speaker 2: point I assume that Okay, thanks, okay, yeah, that's how
- 44:20Speaker 2: improv works. All right, I understand now I'm getting it.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Blast toys once love.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Let me get on your level. Blast toys, Blast toys Blast.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I feel pandered, all right, I think, well I did
- 44:40Speaker 1: that with mystics feeling. I don't think. I don't think
- 44:43Speaker 1: this relationship is ever going to be sold.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't know what I saidensive.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Fantastic. I like Blastois is the choice. I always like
- 44:54Speaker 1: because Pikachu is always the first go to Pokemon, and
- 44:57Speaker 1: then it's always interesting what you learn about a person
- 44:59Speaker 1: for what the second, the second Pokemon is that comes
- 45:02Speaker 1: to them. So Blastics correct choice.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Well, I was just trying to find a Pokemon. Then
- 45:07Speaker 3: you could defeat.
- 45:10Speaker 2: That lie.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Jason, that plays to your strength, you know the
- 45:13Speaker 1: Pokemon types. Great for him, Brown, No good stuff. I'm
- 45:20Speaker 1: going to give you. Oh wait, I'm Lord Michaels, and
- 45:22Speaker 1: I'm judging your script. I'm going to give you three points.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Out of a possible five hundred.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Nice good stuff. All right, we'll move over to the
- 45:36Speaker 1: prime rib players, and I think, yeah, I'll give you
- 45:40Speaker 1: another fandom based one. I think let's go with Spider
- 45:44Speaker 1: Man and Mary Jane can't agree on wedding plans, and Troy,
- 45:49Speaker 1: you can speak using nine words and you can only
- 45:58Speaker 1: speak using two words. Okay, so when have you ready?
- 46:02Speaker 1: It is Spider Man and Mary Jane contagree on wedding plants.
- 46:06Speaker 4: So, honey, I know you wanted daffodils for flowers, did I? Yes?
- 46:20Speaker 4: But I think we should go with two lips comic accurate.
- 46:29Speaker 4: I guess great. Also, I know you want to invite
- 46:40Speaker 4: Mother of course.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Sounded not words.
- 46:54Speaker 4: I was thinking instead, maybe we don't invite her, absolutely not. Okay,
- 47:07Speaker 4: I'll give you that. How about inviting Kingpin?
- 47:16Speaker 6: Sounds good?
- 47:18Speaker 3: Okay, we'll stop that.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Like it's just a list of people of like, does
- 47:23Speaker 1: Spider Man want all these various people? Yeah? I was
- 47:27Speaker 1: imagining the whole thing of you completely in costume the
- 47:30Speaker 1: whole time.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Yeah, before you award points, they referenced nothing about Spider
- 47:35Speaker 3: Man until the last Yeah.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Okay, I was setting that whole king.
- 47:46Speaker 4: The whole time.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Spider Man would rather invite the Rhino than his
- 47:54Speaker 2: mother in law.
- 47:55Speaker 1: I like to imagine Spider Man is just a regular guy,
- 47:59Speaker 1: just normal, grounded character. If it had said Peter Parker
- 48:04Speaker 1: and Mary Jane can't agree on wedding plans, then sure,
- 48:06Speaker 1: I buy your arguments. But as it stands two points, sorry,
- 48:13Speaker 1: two points two points out of five hundred.
- 48:16Speaker 6: Wow.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Okay, honestly, as as someone who has been your improv teach,
- 48:24Speaker 3: it reflects poorly.
- 48:28Speaker 5: God, oh boy, yeah, it's all I was thinking.
- 48:32Speaker 1: About my career. Oh brilliant. Well, it seems how both
- 48:41Speaker 1: teams had so much fun doing that's let's do Let's
- 48:44Speaker 1: do one, Jason Ethan. Let's let's give you more of
- 48:47Speaker 1: a real world one. Here two rival food truck owners
- 48:51Speaker 1: are set up next to each other.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Again, I have no idea how that feels at all
- 48:56Speaker 2: for listeners, Lore, I used to own a food truck.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Oh wow, yeah, I don't anymore. Maybe we can work
- 49:03Speaker 2: that in.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Let's see. Yeah, let's see if you can get into
- 49:05Speaker 1: the headspace of your life. So this time, Jason, you
- 49:12Speaker 1: can speak using ten words? Oh snap, the exact number
- 49:15Speaker 1: of fingers you got there? Well? Yeah, doms exist and
- 49:20Speaker 1: Ethan four words for you. I think four words there. Uh,
- 49:24Speaker 1: and so, whenever you're ready, two rival food tri cornas
- 49:27Speaker 1: are set up next to each other. Again.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Damn it is that one word?
- 49:31Speaker 1: Two words? You can use this one, okay, damn it.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Jerry, you know that I set.
- 49:38Speaker 1: My truck here.
- 49:40Speaker 3: Taco Dan, you leave?
- 49:46Speaker 2: Jerry, you know tacos and ice cream just don't mix, bitch?
- 49:55Speaker 1: Can I not use the tech word? What about choco taco?
- 50:04Speaker 2: What about chacos?
- 50:07Speaker 1: Are you cherry? I forget?
- 50:10Speaker 3: Is that your other one? Taco?
- 50:12Speaker 1: Damn my name, I'll allow it.
- 50:23Speaker 2: I don't have the nuts for choco tacos.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I think you got to stopping.
- 50:31Speaker 3: That's what wife said.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Well, I don't know, that's what she said. Oh nice.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I really believed that these two disliked each other, but
- 50:43Speaker 1: also that there was potentially some synergy there. You guys
- 50:46Speaker 1: come together via choco tacos.
- 50:49Speaker 3: The two things that can never mean several times delicious cream?
- 50:59Speaker 1: Oh good stuff? Okay, Yeah, I'm I'm I love that.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I'm going to give you four out of five. Yeah?
- 51:10Speaker 2: Do you want to open up a chocolates stand together?
- 51:12Speaker 3: I have some past trauma about owning the food trucks, so.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Excellent. Okay, we're going to have one more sketch from
- 51:22Speaker 1: the Prime rib players. This pet photographer can talk to
- 51:26Speaker 1: the animal they are photographing, photographing.
- 51:30Speaker 3: That could have just been the English way photographing.
- 51:41Speaker 1: And I think we'll say, like two words was pretty cruel,
- 51:44Speaker 1: so we won't we won't go that low again. Audra,
- 51:47Speaker 1: twelve words for you, a big amount of words, plus
- 51:50Speaker 1: two and plus two, and Troy will say five words,
- 51:55Speaker 1: and once again, this pet photographer can talk to the
- 51:57Speaker 1: animal they are photographing.
- 52:00Speaker 2: I was expecting Troy to put up two hands when
- 52:02Speaker 2: it was counting five to.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Three on this one.
- 52:05Speaker 4: That's not a bad idea.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Balance.
- 52:10Speaker 6: Okay, Fluffy, absolutely work it. You've got this looking great.
- 52:19Speaker 6: Smise bitch.
- 52:23Speaker 4: Does this to to look good?
- 52:28Speaker 1: It looks incredible.
- 52:32Speaker 5: I thought we talked about your self worth.
- 52:38Speaker 9: Come on, okay, I like it.
- 52:49Speaker 3: I'm going to one of your words helps.
- 52:54Speaker 4: I like you call bitch.
- 53:02Speaker 6: It felt sassy and accurate. You are a hot bitch, just.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Like modern cameras.
- 53:14Speaker 5: Yeah, come on, when was the last time you were a.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Photographer also a sexy bitch? Yeah?
- 53:25Speaker 6: I don't feel comfortable.
- 53:29Speaker 5: The sexiness of clients kind of a boundary.
- 53:34Speaker 1: All right, Well I didn't I reckon just before it
- 53:38Speaker 1: like gets a little further. Yeah, I mean good, use
- 53:43Speaker 1: a bitch up top in a correct setting of you
- 53:44Speaker 1: were you were photographing a dog. Yeah, that's good.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I reckon, Well, you didn't know about ice cream, Jerry?
- 53:52Speaker 2: Was that it was a dog who owns an ice
- 53:54Speaker 2: cream trunk?
- 53:57Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I was a cat. Yeah. There was a
- 54:01Speaker 1: lot of stuff.
- 54:02Speaker 4: Going on there.
- 54:02Speaker 2: You're building a universe.
- 54:03Speaker 1: If you'd have got that into your words, it would
- 54:05Speaker 1: have been five points. I did like that. I liked
- 54:10Speaker 1: imagining these this like doctor Doolittle scenario in my head.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I'm going to give you three out of five points.
- 54:17Speaker 1: What really matters is what Ethan gives us.
- 54:20Speaker 6: I don't want to hear it.
- 54:23Speaker 3: I thought it was as good or better than some
- 54:26Speaker 3: Saturday night lives.
- 54:30Speaker 1: That's what. Okay, that is the end of the round.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Let's ask Chevy Chase to calculate the latest scores. Ah,
- 54:39Speaker 1: he's told me to go fuck myself and hold me
- 54:41Speaker 1: twelve different slurs. Half of them don't even make sense. Okay,
- 54:46Speaker 1: let's take a look at those later scores. Papias script
- 54:49Speaker 1: are on eleven not quite ready for primary players are
- 54:52Speaker 1: also on eleven. All right, okay, Round three next after
- 54:57Speaker 1: some more ads, time for real products and services because
- 55:01Speaker 1: we need the money faccin. Round three is called Journey
- 55:12Speaker 1: into Hell. In this game, I'll give our players a
- 55:15Speaker 1: set of five genuine YouTube comments, each hell being the
- 55:19Speaker 1: YouTube comments section, one of the worst places on the Internet.
- 55:23Speaker 1: One by one, they'll read those comments to their teammate,
- 55:26Speaker 1: with their teammate trying to guess which iconic Saturday Night
- 55:30Speaker 1: Live sketch these comments were left below. But there is
- 55:33Speaker 1: a twist. I need each player to read these comments
- 55:37Speaker 1: while doing an impression of a specific, often personated celebrity,
- 55:42Speaker 1: because SNL is all about their questionable impressions, so it
- 55:46Speaker 1: doesn't matter how good it is. It's just for a
- 55:47Speaker 1: bonus point at the end.
- 55:50Speaker 2: This is awesome because this is going to get really bad.
- 55:52Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, it's going to make some bold choices.
- 55:56Speaker 1: So I think, first up, we're going to head on
- 55:59Speaker 1: over to Papi as script, and I think we'll have
- 56:01Speaker 1: Ethan reading comments for Jason.
- 56:03Speaker 2: First up, Jason knows s and sketches.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, iconic. If I describe it, Okay, if you
- 56:11Speaker 1: describe if I know what you're talking about. Yeah, definitely.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Like I just introduced my friend to this. He had
- 56:19Speaker 3: no idea it existed. I have done my duty as
- 56:23Speaker 3: an adult. It's like seeing a kid walk for the
- 56:27Speaker 3: first time.
- 56:30Speaker 2: I get to keep guessing or is it a game?
- 56:32Speaker 1: You can you can take a guess per thing you
- 56:34Speaker 1: need and look. If you don't know, feel free to
- 56:37Speaker 1: throw out more cow bell if you don't know.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Because I was gonna.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Yeah, if you want to throw that out as the generic.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like the first sketch that everyone does. Right,
- 56:46Speaker 2: There's no way you did a cow bell. It's not
- 56:48Speaker 2: it's not more cow bell, Okay, as you just referenced it.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Next comment ethan.
- 56:53Speaker 3: Every celebrity during lockdown be like colon.
- 57:00Speaker 1: What I think that's the punctuation.
- 57:04Speaker 3: It's saying that this video is what every celebrity during
- 57:07Speaker 3: lockdown be like.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Oh am bringing any bells?
- 57:12Speaker 3: There?
- 57:13Speaker 2: No, it's it's so every celebrity was just super like
- 57:19Speaker 2: this sucks.
- 57:20Speaker 1: I hate my life.
- 57:21Speaker 3: M hmm.
- 57:22Speaker 2: There's a sketch where like a bunch of people pretend
- 57:26Speaker 2: to be Southern Californians and they're like, oh my god,
- 57:30Speaker 2: and they're like really Rich and Toddy and it's like
- 57:32Speaker 2: a like a long running sketch, right like several the Californians. Yeah,
- 57:36Speaker 2: that's why I said that. I knew I got specific
- 57:40Speaker 2: with you guys, So.
- 57:42Speaker 1: You go, you go with that. Yes, that's a very
- 57:44Speaker 1: good guess, but it is not correct.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Awesome, so we've run the gambit of all the SML sketches,
- 57:51Speaker 2: all right.
- 57:51Speaker 3: The next comment, can we all just appreciate the fact
- 57:54Speaker 3: that they rhymed motherfucker with motherfucker four times? That's some
- 57:59Speaker 3: real poetry.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Man, What have.
- 58:03Speaker 2: You guys gone this over there? No, okay, I feel
- 58:06Speaker 2: better about myself. I have ideas, but why are they rhyming?
- 58:10Speaker 1: Why are they rhyming? Why are they rhyming?
- 58:13Speaker 2: I mean, there's not a it's not the nineties are they?
- 58:16Speaker 2: Are they doing rap sketches right now? I also have
- 58:19Speaker 2: the only context of SNL sketches is like now, so
- 58:22Speaker 2: I can't think what's happening?
- 58:25Speaker 3: I don't I.
- 58:25Speaker 2: Seriously don't know that sketch where like they're a bunch
- 58:29Speaker 2: of beat nick rednecks getting abducted and Christen Wiggs, Oh no,
- 58:34Speaker 2: what's the other one?
- 58:35Speaker 1: The other one? I like, how you can vaguely describe
- 58:38Speaker 1: a lot of snls.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen clips, but they're only the famous ones,
- 58:42Speaker 2: you know, I'm talking about the alien.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Pro boy totally. Yeah, it's not that though, Okay.
- 58:46Speaker 4: With Ryan Gooseling.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Ryan, That's why I know anything Ryan's on Papaya.
- 58:53Speaker 1: Okay, next comment, please.
- 58:54Speaker 3: Even I just would say it after twenty three years
- 58:57Speaker 3: in the US Navy, and I wish these guys knew
- 59:00Speaker 3: how many times we would play this over the one
- 59:04Speaker 3: MCS speakers.
- 59:06Speaker 1: What the hell guys in the navy.
- 59:09Speaker 2: Guys in the Navy. But like with rhyming with, I
- 59:14Speaker 2: don't get it. I don't understand that.
- 59:18Speaker 1: We're all enjoying Ethan's impression. It can't.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it cannot be the Timothy shallow May doing doing
- 59:27Speaker 2: eats and skirts that got famous with Pete Davidson.
- 59:30Speaker 1: It's another you've you've named another.
- 59:32Speaker 2: I've done it, so yeah, I've done it.
- 59:34Speaker 1: It's not but it's not that one. But there is
- 59:37Speaker 1: one more comment. You can still score a point from
- 59:38Speaker 1: this final one. Okay, this is gonna be the one.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Dude.
- 59:41Speaker 3: T pain was handing out hits like candy.
- 59:45Speaker 2: T pain in in a sketch, and this is based
- 59:48Speaker 2: on my limited knowledge. So I'm sorry if this is
- 59:51Speaker 2: like weird for me to say, but they generally speak.
- 59:54Speaker 2: They usually have a lot of black guest stars on
- 59:57Speaker 2: the not Jeopardy fam only feud parody that they do
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: and yeah, and then it's like there'll be like spoofs
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: of like what if it was black family feud and stuff.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Yeah, they do like black Jeopardy. Yeah, family and Jeopardy.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, So is it I just I can't see
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: tea paint outside of a musical guest sketch. That's all
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: I can think of, is it? Is it Black Jeopardy?
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: It's not. And if you had just said I can
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: see t pen inside of a musical guest sketch, I
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: might have given you thet You can't steal a point,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: but you can't say the right answer. There's just a YouTube. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: it's Lonely Island.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, whoa They were on there for like nine years. Yeah,
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: I thought it was just YouTube.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: But hey, Jason didn't score any points for the YouTube comments.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: But now I've learned something and that's worth more.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Well, it's worth no points, but you can still score
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: a point if you can say the impression.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: You can doing Trump because they do a lot of Trump.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: It was indeed Donald Trump, so there's there's a point
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: for that for sure. Yeah, I was. I was wondering
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: if Lonely Island was in yours. I do, but I
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: just didn't associate exactly. I didn't think about that. But well,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: well read ethan lovely lovely stuff.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks, you need to get impression.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I'm so glad I asked.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: I was actually just listening to the Lonely Island podcast
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: on the way over here.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Please don't, please don't promote another podcast. Sorry, We're gonna
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: move over to the Prime Rip players.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Next up, we've got Ordra reading YouTube comments for Troy
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: and also order will pick one of the impressions on there.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Oh it's pre selected impressions. Yes. Nice, They are all
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: like relatively common SNL impression. O gotcha. Oh, I can't wait.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: I recently played this clip for my mom and she
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: laughed so hard she almost fell down.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Any any ideas from that very comment?
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: Is it the northern California? We're talking about the north?
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: Out of here?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: It's not okay.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: I remember watching this back live in nineteen ninety nine.
- 1:02:31Speaker 5: My oldest daughter and what's four and my youngest daughter
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: was a newborn. I screamed and then laughed so loud
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: I woke them up. This is the worst impression I've
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: ever done.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: So I say, you saw the word say your keyword.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: I think it's no, it's not all that impression.
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: It's not that one.
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: I heard a lot of that one nineteen ninety nine.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: That's a good clue for them.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Can you narrow it down from the hundreds of sketches
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: performed in nineteen.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm thinking is that the Will Ferrell era? Was
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: it the cheerleaders sketch?
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: It's a good guess, but it's not the cheerleaders sketch?
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: What a Baldwin? Imagine you driving a car and listening
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: to this radio crying emoji, different crying emoji, different crying emoji,
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: and then they like laughing emoji with the hand over
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: the face.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: So it's an Alec Baldwin's catch.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: If you think that's what the comment what a Baldwin means,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: which was my favorite YouTube comment, it's.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: No billy Yeah, gosh, sweaty balls, sweaty meatballs.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: It is, indeed, yo, it is the delicious dish. Wow.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's like the main Alec bald when I can
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: think of it. Yeah, I didn't realize that was from
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: nineteen ninety nine though, Holy cow.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Yeah we said it was the big Hitters.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: There you go, indeed the big Hitters.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah, I one boat. I think it's been
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: viewed half a billion times.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: On YouTube, and I'm at least two of those.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: The first time I was on a boat, my roommates
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: all played this song.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: It's incredible. It was a really great bonding experience. Okay,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: great stuff, Troy three points. But for a bonus point,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: can you name who Oldra was doing an impression of.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: I don't know her name, but is it that that
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: woman who's always doing that sexy voice the from like
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: she was on American Pie. You're thinking of.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: The person that Adre does a very good normally. Yeah,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: but it's not Jennifer Coolidge. Yeah, Aldred, do you want
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: to do Jennifer Coolidge?
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: Sure, I have a colage. It's going to be as
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: good as normal.
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: But yeah, that's really good.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: Impression.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Wow, So who was Uhldre? It was an attempt at
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Marilyn Monroe, but that's similar.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's a tough one. I don't think I've
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: ever heard Marilyn Monroe speak.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I think just by virtue of her being a historical figure.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Fun fact, she's the most impersonated person in SNL history. Wow,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: just I think the go to cultural figure for things.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Maybe she may have died even before SNL started. Let's
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: not speculate on the death of a starla. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: we're going to go back on over to papious script
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: this time Jason reading comments for Ethan.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: How do I get into the headspace of this guy?
- 1:06:00Speaker 9: Mmm?
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: The turmoil you seem to be in.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: It doesn't matter how many years go by, this sketch
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: will continue to live for a theme in my head forever.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Nice.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Oh uh, all right, um, we'll say cow.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Bell, it's not cow Bell. For the very vague first
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: YouTube comment, Jason john to read the second You.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Just now that this sketch came up about because it
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: had been legitimately boring bothering one of the SNL writers.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: This sketches equal parts comedy and therapy.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: This could be the UFO alien abduction sketch.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Ah, that is a good guess, but it's not the
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: right answer.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna this is the first time I'm doing this impression,
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: So I'm gonna I'm gonna tool little. Really it's a
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Chicago gangster.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: What is it?
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: What does he do here? As a graphic designer? I
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: have to say that this is the funny ship I
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: have ever seen my whole life. I thank you U,
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: S and No for this wonderful gift.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: Oh oh, this might be a recent sketch with Bill
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Burr where he's like seeing ink blots but they're all
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: like really inappropriate.
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: That sounds funny, like a mess exactly.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: That's yeah, everyone else saw the test and he would
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: see it was like bugs bunny walking like a buff
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: dude or whatever.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I do love the artist Roll Shock and all those
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: pictures of Vagiant as he does the artists Georgia. That's
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: a good guess, but it's not the correct as Jason.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Next comment, gusson driving through the night with a blinkness
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: blinkless look on his face is so iconic.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Linkless look on his face?
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: And what was that first word again?
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Goslin Gosling? Yeah, goss oh, Ryan Gooseling. Please, I mean,
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: can't be Papyrus, is it? Is it? It?
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Absolutely no idea that you're going to choose that as
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: the team name. So congratulations two points that for that
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: very good stuff for Papias script, which is across.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: The correct sketch. Yeah, I didn't recognize the sketch title.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Jason. I have heard you do an impression of this
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: guy before, have I? But Ethan any ideas for what
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Jason was going for.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: I mean, to me, it sounded almost like Pete Davidson,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: but I don't know that that would be you wouldn't
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: do an impression of.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm not sure a region on the accent,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: maybe Yorkey. Yeah, he's he's East Coast.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: He's definitely he's like yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: I think I had to do beat Davidson. He has
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: more of a ground his voice, right, he's.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Like occasionally, yeah, I'm not sure.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: That's fine, that's fair. It's Mark Wahlberg.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: I feel like Mark Warlburg always has like and I
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: couldn't really do it in the comments, but he always
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: has like every movie he's in, he's like, what the
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: hell's going on?
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't get it.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: There's robots.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: I'm an offensive, come on, yeah, because he's like, is
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: he Boston or Philly?
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: He's like roughly Massachusetts.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Yeah, but he was in that movie where he played
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: at Philadelphia.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: He played an eagle, So no bonus point that, but
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: I thought that was a pretty good East Coast Oh thanks, thanks. Yeah,
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of East Coast celebrities to choose from.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: I guess. Okay, stay prayed up. That's what he said. Yeah,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: it's a despisable human being wakes up at three am
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: to play golfing, not his kids. That's his schedule.
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: You can sleep into whenever you want if you really
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: want to ignore your kids.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: That bad. It's not a prerequisite.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Okay. Last up, we have Troy reading YouTube comments forra Okay,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: and you've got the impressions there and whenever you're ready, Troy,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: the first comment, please.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: There has never been a blueprint for the proletariat, and
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: therefore social is Socialism is always inevitable.
- 1:10:47Speaker 6: Dude, a cow bell.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: It's not cow bell, but thank you for throwing in
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: the cow bell. Troy, Very well done with the impression.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Can I have the next comments? Yeah? Brother, this is
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: this is a long one. I love saying.
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: I am fifty two years old. When this came came
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: out in nineteen ninety, I was twenty one years old.
- 1:11:16Speaker 4: Imagine how fun it was to watch SNL for us.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: No social media, no propaganda, no message, just fun, funny,
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: rocking fun.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: What a wild comment.
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: I feel so blessed to have come of age when
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: I did, and I likewise feel bad that my kids
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: aren't getting anywhere near the same experience. The long impression.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Very good.
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: I do have to ask are those words capitalized? Because
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: there's certain words that you like emphasized.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: And I would love fun capitalized.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: Yes, my timelines are not set in any sort of knowledge.
- 1:12:12Speaker 6: I'm gonna just hazard. Couldn't be Cowbell.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: It's not cow bell. But I appreciate the guess. That
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: was a classic YouTube comment there. I feel like YouTube
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: is mostly yeah, middle aged people complaining that the world
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: isn't good for their kids, but they were in charge
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: of what the world got to be.
- 1:12:32Speaker 7: That I made it bad. It's super reducing, all right.
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: Next comment Troy, what a crossover I can't handle? Gonna explode,
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: big mess to clean up explodes.
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: Oh okay, I feel bad because I've known other ones
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: and I have absolutely zero fucking clue.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Classic leapers to be doing this for five years?
- 1:13:10Speaker 6: Do I go for a rule of three?
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I'm gonna I think I'm gonna sweaty balls.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: It's not sweaty balls. For the second time, it is not,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: but there are all more YouTube comments.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Oh yes, this one should be more. Garth is why
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: I am in love with drummers. I have dated over
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: seven ld over seven eight. It's a very specific seven.
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: The first word is Garth.
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: Clue, you're really really hopeful and I I love that.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: I love the hope that's in your eyes. Is this
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: is this one of the Wayne's World ones where they
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: do something cats guards all there.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: I mean, it's a specific Wayne's World one, so I
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: will need more, but there is potentially more in the
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: on the final claim, okay, really kind of.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: I love Stephen Tyler acknowledging Dana Carvey's drumming skills Stephen Tyler.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: So I'm gonna say that this is a crossover episode
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: with Aerosmith.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Yes, there you go Smith on Wayne's World.
- 1:14:47Speaker 6: Good stuff for a p It happened on Saturday Night Live.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: The theme of this.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Episode had been wild and it was like this one
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: mad TV.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Very good stuff and might I say our finest impressions
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: so far? Yeah, that makes.
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: Me feel real.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: The emphasis of certain words may be a little bit
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: of a clue there, yep.
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: Then we'll go for Shatner.
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: Then that's fighters.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Who was Troy doing an impression of Christopher Walker, the
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: guy from Cowbell?
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: I haven't seen it.
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Very good players. That is the end of round three.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Let's ask the cone heads to calculate the latest scores.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: I still don't know who are what they are, and
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: at this point I'm too afraid to ask a whole
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: ass movie. Yes, I didn't know that is the premise
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: that the alien. Yes, okay, that makes.
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: A lot of cone shaped heads.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Okay, in case you just they just gave me like
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: nightmare fuel as a child.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Dan Aykroyd has a history of that.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: He there's a movie that he made. I'm forgetting the
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: name of it right now, but Ghostbusters. Yea, The entire
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: movie was the script was just his brother had a
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: nightmare and they made it into a movie. It's like
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: the one where he's in like the old age makeup
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: and like I can't remember the name of you know
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: what I'm talking about?
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: I think so. Was he like stuck in a house
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: in like a wheelchair.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: It's literally just nightmare fuel with dan Ackroyd. That's different
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: from the conte.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: An interesting mind. He has yeah with his Crystal Skull vodka.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: That's what I know about dan Acroyd. Okay. Those scores
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: are Papias Scriptor on fourteen points. The primary player is
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: on fifteen points, neck and neck. Anything can happen in
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: the quick fire round. It's total chaos. But before we
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: get to the quick fire rounds, let's talk prizes. This
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: episode star prize is the concept of laughter, a concept
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: that can be found two or three times per episode
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: of Better Now. But the winning team will also receive
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: a free pet photography with those pet photographers from earlier,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: I'll talk up your dog, possibly come on to it.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: We'll see what HAPPENSTA follow a vibe up.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Next is our final crucial quick fire around. We're in
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: the ten to one time slot now, no one's listening anymore,
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: so we'll be trying out all the weird shit back
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: after this. Our final quick fire round will test your
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: broader popc knowledge and it's called Tenured TV Titans. In
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: this game, I will give our players clues to a
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: long running US TV show, something that has been on
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: the air for at least thirty years. Those clues will
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: be in the style of a nervous young British actor
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: doing opening monologue jokes for the first time. Oh and
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: there's of course a classic Gateleapers twist. You need to
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: answer by saying, live from insert city name. It's answer
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: to the clue. So I need to hear a different
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: city name each time. Don't want to hear New York
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: because that's boring. So live from wherever you want to say.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: It's the name of the show. It's quick fire, so
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: buzz in by yelling out your team name. Let's practice
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: that now by subscriberate love it. That works. And as
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: an example, if I said, and how about this TV
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: show more like the cost is correct? Am I right? Yes?
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: Ordra live from Pittsburgh. It's the price is right exactly.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: That's how you would score a point. So just string
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: those things together and you will score a point. You
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: can interrupt me at any point, are we already? Yes?
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: Ye?
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Sweet? And how about this TV show? You know, if
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I lived on an avenue filled with Hamburger buns, I'd
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: also want cookies all the time.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Gotta have dessert, tire Yes Ethan live from Cincinnati. It's
