- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Ah huh, I sure will.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come on,
- 0:12Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 0:15Speaker 1: radio show. Okay, I want to talk to you today
- 0:25Speaker 1: about success. But I want to talk to you about
- 0:28Speaker 1: it like I usually do in terms of a principle
- 0:32Speaker 1: of it, but I want to share something with you
- 0:35Speaker 1: about it.
- 0:38Speaker 2: And I was talking to my daughter about it.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I've talked about my son in law about it, talked
- 0:43Speaker 1: about it with all my children, and I'm really starting
- 0:46Speaker 1: to express it to them now because I'm talking to
- 0:49Speaker 1: a wide range of people constantly. But I want to
- 0:53Speaker 1: share something with you. If you have any aspiration of
- 0:56Speaker 1: being successful, I want you to realize, starting right now,
- 1:02Speaker 1: the effort that is going to require. And that's why
- 1:06Speaker 1: I think it stops a lot of people. I think
- 1:08Speaker 1: a lot of people are never told or don't understand
- 1:13Speaker 1: the sheer efforts that it takes to become successful at
- 1:17Speaker 1: anything in any area of your life. If you think
- 1:21Speaker 1: that doing your best is enough, that I got news
- 1:25Speaker 1: for you.
- 1:25Speaker 2: It's not. Well, Steve.
- 1:28Speaker 1: What if you've done your best, though, and your best
- 1:32Speaker 1: ain't good enough? Well, let me ask you that same question.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Hold on, if you want to be successful and you've
- 1:39Speaker 1: done your best, and best isn't good enough. What you
- 1:42Speaker 1: threw that's it. But Steve, it was my best. No no, no,
- 1:46Speaker 1: no no. It was the best you had at that time,
- 1:50Speaker 1: in that particular day. But tomorrow add something to it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You've never done everything. There is no you can ain't
- 2:00Speaker 1: go no more, you can't add no more. I've seen
- 2:04Speaker 1: marathon runners end up crawling across the line. I've seen
- 2:08Speaker 1: triathlone people man just staggering in the street and didn't
- 2:12Speaker 1: want nobody to help them because they knew that would
- 2:14Speaker 1: disqualify them from the race. You got more? Have you
- 2:20Speaker 1: ever dipped into your reserve tank? That's what we're talking
- 2:24Speaker 1: about now. See, all of us have a reserve tank,
- 2:29Speaker 1: you know. You know.
- 2:29Speaker 2: On my ranch, I like to ride four wheelers.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I have all terrain vehicles and all of them have
- 2:35Speaker 1: a gas tank on it and a gas tank and
- 2:38Speaker 1: most of mine, let me see all of them. Yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 1: all of them have gas tank needles on them, and
- 2:43Speaker 1: it lets me know. When I get down towards eight,
- 2:46Speaker 1: there's a little lane that's red that lets me know. Okay, Steve,
- 2:51Speaker 1: you're in a danger zone. Now you're riding into the
- 2:54Speaker 1: lowest part of your tank. But if I keep riding
- 2:57Speaker 1: and I forget to get some gas in there, guess
- 3:00Speaker 1: what when it runs out of gas. All of my
- 3:03Speaker 1: all terrain vehicles, all of them, Honda Polaris, all of them.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Those are the makers.
- 3:11Speaker 1: There's a button on the gas tank itself that I
- 3:14Speaker 1: can click and it says reserve.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That means they know.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That for the hard core riders, they're gonna ride somewhere,
- 3:24Speaker 1: they're gonna get themselves in a situation and they're gonna
- 3:27Speaker 1: run out of everything, They're gonna run out of road,
- 3:30Speaker 1: they're gonna run.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Out of gas.
- 3:32Speaker 1: They've prepared because they know for the hard core rider,
- 3:36Speaker 1: every hard core rider needs a reserve tank. And so
- 3:40Speaker 1: there's a button that you can click on the gas
- 3:42Speaker 1: tank that clicks it into a reserve and it'll give
- 3:45Speaker 1: you about fifty miles or twenty miles worth of gas
- 3:50Speaker 1: in that. Now, guess what in that reserve That may
- 3:54Speaker 1: be all you need to get you the where you're going,
- 3:57Speaker 1: or get you back to safety so you can re fuel.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Don't tell me you've done your best. When your best,
- 4:04Speaker 1: don't cut it. What you're gonna do. See when best
- 4:08Speaker 1: is possible, then good enough ain't enough. See that's good enough.
- 4:14Speaker 1: But if the best is possible, why would you not
- 4:16Speaker 1: shoot for that? And you you are all capable of
- 4:20Speaker 1: making it. But you've got to change your mindset and
- 4:23Speaker 1: realize the effort that has to be put forth in
- 4:26Speaker 1: becoming successful. You've got to do it relentlessly, over and
- 4:32Speaker 1: over and over and over and every day. I try
- 4:35Speaker 1: to do something to progress my life for the better.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I try to do something every day. I wake up
- 4:41Speaker 1: every day with the plan. Some phone calls, some meetings,
- 4:45Speaker 1: some some some some interviews.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Something.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Man, that's going to advance and move the brand forward.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Because here's what's gonna happen. You are Let's say you
- 4:54Speaker 1: reach your goal. Let's say your goal is to make
- 4:57Speaker 1: now one hundred thousand dollars.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Well, I got news for you. Listen to this.
- 5:03Speaker 1: When you make the one hundred thousand dollars, you can't
- 5:07Speaker 1: go nowhere and go on vacation and put your hand
- 5:09Speaker 1: behind your head and say I made one hundred thousand dollars.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Guess what you got to do.
- 5:14Speaker 1: You got to find a way now to maintain that
- 5:16Speaker 1: one hundred thousand to keep it coming in. See, you
- 5:21Speaker 1: can't just get there and stop and rest and whoa.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It is harder to maintain your success than it is
- 5:27Speaker 1: to get successful. See.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Let's say, let me let me show you this. Suppose
- 5:32Speaker 2: it takes you.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Five to eight years to find a way to make
- 5:39Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars. Let's say it takes you five to
- 5:43Speaker 1: eight years to find a way to make an extra
- 5:45Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars, and you finally, through work and effort,
- 5:49Speaker 1: you get to the fifty thousand dollars. Moths, It's only
- 5:55Speaker 1: just begun now because guess what. In order to keep
- 5:58Speaker 1: the fifty coming in, you gotta duplicate what you did
- 6:03Speaker 1: to get there. And then, oh, here's what you're going
- 6:07Speaker 1: to have the audacity being a human being. You're gonna
- 6:10Speaker 1: want another fifty because you're a human being, because you
- 6:15Speaker 1: gotta have something else to shoot for. Now you're gonna
- 6:17Speaker 1: want another fifty. Well, now that guess what you gotta do. Now,
- 6:20Speaker 1: Now you gotta do what you did before, plus you
- 6:22Speaker 1: gotta come up with something else. Then after that, you're
- 6:26Speaker 1: gonna have the audacity. Because you're humans, You're gonna want
- 6:29Speaker 1: another fifty. Says how this works and see that that
- 6:36Speaker 1: that's the importance of your relationship with God, because you're
- 6:39Speaker 1: gonna constantly need it and ain't havever a point where
- 6:42Speaker 1: you're gonna be through needing it. But that ain't gonna
- 6:45Speaker 1: become a point in your life where you're going through,
- 6:46Speaker 1: won't be through, won't nothing unless you then just gave up.
- 6:49Speaker 2: And if you done gave up, who wants that?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Come on, y'all, this is going to take quite a
- 6:56Speaker 1: bit of effort, And if you think it'll come to
- 6:59Speaker 1: you any other way, you're sadly mistaken. Because of all
- 7:03Speaker 1: the successful people I know, I know that the effort
- 7:06Speaker 1: they put out on a daily basis is daunting, and
- 7:08Speaker 1: I think that the average person just doesn't understand the
- 7:12Speaker 1: requirement of time and effort that it takes to get
- 7:15Speaker 1: that and willingness to put it out. You got to
- 7:18Speaker 1: cut a lot of monkey business out your life, all
- 7:22Speaker 1: that hanging out, all that late and all that club
- 7:25Speaker 1: and all that drinking, all that. You got to cut
- 7:27Speaker 1: a whole lot of monkey business out to be successful. Man,
- 7:32Speaker 1: if you're planning on being successful, get up early, stay
- 7:36Speaker 1: up late, work, try, think, meet, greet, smile, attract It
- 7:43Speaker 1: takes a lot. Let's go, but you can do it.
- 7:45Speaker 1: God is pressed to passing out blessings all day long.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Why are you not in line for yours? I'm telling
- 7:51Speaker 1: you right now, I want everything God got for me
- 7:54Speaker 1: because what He's shown me so far.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Who if he got some moke man or man? How good?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Good is God?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Her?
- 8:01Speaker 2: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
