- 0:00Speaker 1: Dara, good morning. You're on the air. How are you?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hi, this is Dara. I was wondering if you could
- 0:08Speaker 2: throw a prayer for my daughter.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Backstory is that you threw a similar prayer a year
- 0:14Speaker 3: ago and her wish came true.
- 0:16Speaker 2: So I'm hoping the same thing can happen again.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Okay, you got it. Here we go. Throwing a prayer out.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Good luck. Let us know.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 0:26Speaker 5: I will.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 0:28Speaker 6: Probably the background on that, I thought about it the
- 0:30Speaker 6: other day. About 10 years ago, I was going to church,
- 0:33Speaker 6: and I remember the preacher, Terry Crist.
- 0:36Speaker 1: The guy's amazing.
- 0:37Speaker 6: He was talking about praying for other people, and I
- 0:40Speaker 6: was like, man, that's wild. And I thought, I prayed
- 0:42Speaker 6: for some people, and good things happened. So I remember
- 0:44Speaker 6: I was at a red light, and I saw a
- 0:46Speaker 6: homeless guy, and I took my hand, and I was
- 0:49Speaker 6: flicking water on somebody. I was throwing a prayer, and
- 0:52Speaker 6: I was like, I started throwing prayers for people. And
- 0:54Speaker 6: then things started happening, Peyton. power of prayer and praying
- 0:58Speaker 6: for other people. So now people called in the show
- 1:00Speaker 6: and asked me to pray for them. Now, it is
- 1:03Speaker 6: hot outside, is it not?
- 1:08Speaker 1: It's very hot. San Diego over the weekend, 72.
- 1:12Speaker 7: That's not very hot. That's kind of nice.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Here, it's really hot.
- 1:17Speaker 7: It's kind of humid too.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So we want to know, what is the heat destroyed
- 1:22Speaker 1: of yours? I think everybody here has got a story.
- 1:24Speaker 1: We want to hear 877-937-1047. Kelly, how hot is it?
- 1:29Speaker 1: What happened? What got destroyed?
- 1:32Speaker 8: Besides my soul, I had two things. I went in
- 1:37Speaker 8: for a mammogram and an unopened can of Diet Coke
- 1:40Speaker 8: exploded all over my dashboard and the roof of my Prius. Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 8: the bummer, light gray turned dark brown. And then the
- 1:49Speaker 8: other thing was I had a pair of Nike tennis
- 1:51Speaker 8: shoes in the back of my car for a couple
- 1:53Speaker 8: of days and I went to go get them and
- 1:55Speaker 8: the whole soul came off.
- 1:58Speaker 4: The heat does not like shoes.
- 2:00Speaker 3: We left my son's Crocs outside and they literally shrunk
- 2:03Speaker 3: like three sizes.
- 2:04Speaker 7: Oh, really? I get where it would melt the glue
- 2:08Speaker 7: on a shoe, but to shrink it three sizes is nuts.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I've had a water bottle completely shrivel up. Like a
- 2:13Speaker 4: size you have, John, around those big gallons, just shriveled
- 2:17Speaker 4: right up.
- 2:17Speaker 6: Well, you take a little Cialis and put it in there. Yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 6: I know.
- 2:23Speaker 8: So anyway, lesson learned. Every time I have anything that's
- 2:27Speaker 8: enclosed in some sort of a can, I take it out.
- 2:29Speaker 7: And don't leave your plastic sunglasses on the dashboard. Bad, bad,
- 2:33Speaker 7: bad idea.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Chopstick, too.
- 2:34Speaker 7: That's bad news.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Thanks, Kelly.
- 2:37Speaker 8: Yeah, it's my pleasure.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Bye.
- 2:39Speaker 6: I have this nose spray, you know, that I carry
- 2:41Speaker 6: with me all the time. And I feel the opposite. Like,
- 2:44Speaker 6: it gets really hot and burny, and the nose spray
- 2:46Speaker 6: I keep it in my glove box, and I put
- 2:48Speaker 6: it up my nose, and it just cleans everything out
- 2:49Speaker 6: for like a month. God, man.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It doesn't sound safe. I think the molecules in that
- 2:54Speaker 1: thing change in the heat.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It seems like it's burning.
- 2:57Speaker 7: What does the sun make more powerful?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Jason, what happened to you? What got destroyed in the heat?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Oh, well, I had a... It's a can of pepper
- 3:10Speaker 2: spray I had for work, but it The name brand
- 3:14Speaker 2: was Capstan, so that's what the issue was. What the
- 3:18Speaker 2: hell are you talking about? That morning.
- 3:20Speaker 1: What are you saying? I didn't understand a word you said.
- 3:22Speaker 7: I didn't get it either, actually. Something with a pepper spray.
- 3:24Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a pepper spray.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Okay, so you had a pepper spray in your car
- 3:27Speaker 1: and it exploded?
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, because that morning I had gotten a fresh can
- 3:33Speaker 2: from work and I threw it in the cup holder
- 3:38Speaker 2: and I went the afternoon, I went out to lunch
- 3:42Speaker 2: and I parked on a one-way street. So I guess
- 3:46Speaker 2: while I was eating lunch, I heated up and then
- 3:48Speaker 2: I was coming back out to get in my car
- 3:52Speaker 2: and there's, you know, traffic coming. So I hurry up
- 3:54Speaker 2: and I guess when I opened the door, I'm thinking that,
- 3:58Speaker 2: you know, the pressure or something and it exploded. So
- 4:01Speaker 2: I jumped in because there was vehicles coming. So I
- 4:04Speaker 2: jumped in and then I got hit with the whole
- 4:07Speaker 2: The whole effect of the pepper spray inside my car.
- 4:09Speaker 1: So you're like in a hurry and you don't know
- 4:12Speaker 1: that the pepper, did it burn your eyes and stuff?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it got all over me, all over my skin,
- 4:16Speaker 2: my clothes. I mean, that's like law enforcement grade.
- 4:21Speaker 7: Oh, man.
- 4:22Speaker 6: You know, you talk like a pilot. You're like, yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 6: and I parked on a one-way street. Pepper spray exploded.
- 4:29Speaker 6: We're going to be landing here shortly.
- 4:31Speaker 1: All right. Thanks, Jason.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 4:33Speaker 7: I'm glad he's okay.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Christy. What did the heat destroy of yours?
- 4:39Speaker 6: As far as I know, Christy, next week, the weather's
- 4:42Speaker 6: going to be in the 90s, and I don't know
- 4:43Speaker 6: if this is the beginning of it getting back down,
- 4:45Speaker 6: but we only have so many days to get into
- 4:47Speaker 6: the casino.
- 4:47Speaker 1: We should have done this three weeks ago. No, we're
- 4:49Speaker 1: assessing the damage of the season. Now's the time to
- 4:51Speaker 1: do it. So what did the heat destroy of yours, Christy?
- 4:55Speaker 3: The heat melted my blink doorbell camera, you know, the
- 5:00Speaker 3: doorbell camera things. My house faces west. And it gets
- 5:06Speaker 3: a beat down from the sun. And I came home
- 5:09Speaker 3: one day and the poor thing was laying on the
- 5:11Speaker 3: front deck. And I attached it, screwed it back on,
- 5:15Speaker 3: and then it melted the batteries that were inside.
- 5:18Speaker 7: Oh, my gosh. That could have been bad.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:20Speaker 7: We really do live on the surface of the sun,
- 5:22Speaker 7: don't we?
- 5:22Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, though. Yeah, me either. Well,
- 5:27Speaker 1: thank you, Christy.
- 5:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 6: I had a pair of flip-flops or slides and they
- 5:34Speaker 6: were outside, but the shade was on one of them.
- 5:38Speaker 6: And then the other one like faded really, it's a
- 5:41Speaker 6: totally different color now and it shrank a little bit,
- 5:43Speaker 6: but I still wear them. But it's like, it looks,
- 5:46Speaker 6: it looks like I'm wearing different shoes. So it's supposed
- 5:49Speaker 6: to be 106 today, 104 tomorrow, 105, 101, then 97, 96, 92, 96, 98, 99.
- 5:50Speaker 6: That's all.
- 5:50Speaker 1: That's what I got till next Thursday. Okay.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Which I find interesting. It excites me that it's down
- 6:01Speaker 6: in the 90s. I feel like, okay, we made it.
- 6:03Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 6:04Speaker 7: Usually by October around here, it's not brutal. It's still hot,
- 6:08Speaker 7: but not brutal. Hold on a second.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Hello? Good morning, John, Jane, Rich. Who's this?
- 6:12Speaker 5: Alexa, cross the session.
- 6:16Speaker 7: She said Alexa to call KSFM.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Oh, you already did.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Done.
- 6:22Speaker 7: Well, your Alexa's working ahead of you. That's hot. Your
- 6:27Speaker 7: Alexa's become sentient. It already called us.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Every line's ringing. It's got to be for the Disney tickets.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That's what I wanted them to say. Let me see.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Let's see. Hello. Good morning, John Jane Rich. Hello.
- 6:39Speaker 7: Hello.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:40Speaker 7: Are you calling for the Disneyland yet?
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm glad you called. We are going to do that
- 6:45Speaker 1: in just a little bit. You got to keep listening. Okay,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I will. All right, good luck.
- 6:49Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Good luck. You got it.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 6:51Speaker 6: Yeah, so we got your shot at Disneyland tickets just
- 6:53Speaker 6: minutes away. You got to make sure you have three
- 6:54Speaker 6: of those keywords ready to go.
- 6:56Speaker 1: First, Ariana Grande.
- 6:57Speaker 5: All right, it's time.
- 7:00Speaker 4: We're looking for caller 104 right now. 877-937-1047.
- 7:05Speaker 6: Caller 104 will get tickets to Disneyland. Where is my
- 7:19Speaker 6: Disney information? And we're going to do it every single day.
- 7:22Speaker 6: So we give out the magic words every hour. So
- 7:25Speaker 6: about five minutes after the hour, we're going to give
- 7:27Speaker 6: you a Disney magic word. You've got to save it.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Collect as many magic words as you can. And the
- 7:33Speaker 6: next day at 8 a.m., we will take caller 104.
- 7:37Speaker 6: And if you give us three magic words from the
- 7:39Speaker 6: day before, you win Disney tickets. Four two-day, one park-per-day passes.
- 7:44Speaker 6: And you qualify for the grand prize, Disney Vacation, which
- 7:46Speaker 6: is four three-day, one park-per-day passes. and hotel at the
- 7:50Speaker 6: Disneyland resort. So we started yesterday. Now I happen to
- 7:53Speaker 6: see on social media that our executive producer, Nick Johnstone
- 7:57Speaker 6: was at Disneyland with his kids.
- 7:59Speaker 1: How was it, Nick? You guys, it was magical.
- 8:03Speaker 5: We went for two days and, uh, I've been to
- 8:06Speaker 5: Disneyland a handful of times and it might have been
- 8:09Speaker 5: my favorite trip ever.
- 8:10Speaker 8: Oh, yay.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 5: We went to California adventure the first day, got to
- 8:14Speaker 5: ride all like the adventure full rides. And then, uh,
- 8:18Speaker 5: My kids are six and four, and so Disneyland was,
- 8:22Speaker 5: I mean, it was incredible. We just had the best time.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So you are a millennial. Am I right, Nick?
- 8:27Speaker 7: Si.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:28Speaker 6: BuzzFeed put together the things that millennials are doing that
- 8:32Speaker 6: annoy Gen Z.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Literally everything Nick does annoys me, so I'm really interested
- 8:36Speaker 4: to hear that.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Well, guess what? Disney adults are on this list. Okay,
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's fair.
- 8:41Speaker 7: Nick is a Disney adult.
- 8:42Speaker 1: For sure.
- 8:43Speaker 7: I've never seen him wear like a normal shirt. It's
- 8:46Speaker 7: always got some kind of Disney thing on it.
- 8:47Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure Nick and his wife got engaged at Disneyland.
- 8:50Speaker 4: That is like ultimate Disney.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Oh, for sure. Did you get engaged at Disneyland? Yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 1: we did. Yeah.
- 8:54Speaker 5: It blew the kids' minds. We were like, we need
- 8:56Speaker 5: to take a picture right here, right in front of
- 8:58Speaker 5: the castle. This is where Mommy and Daddy got engaged.
- 9:00Speaker 5: And they were like, when? We're like, well, before we
- 9:03Speaker 5: were married, before you guys. And they were like, no,
- 9:06Speaker 5: you didn't. We're like, we had lives before you both.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yes. What color are we at right now? Let's see.
- 9:14Speaker 1: It's caller 76. Oh, really?
- 9:16Speaker 7: Cooking right along.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Caller 104.
- 9:19Speaker 6: So BuzzFeed put together the things that millennials are doing
- 9:23Speaker 6: that annoy Gen Z. Okay, so hustle culture is one.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Gen Z agrees that working 100 hours a week is
- 9:28Speaker 6: not a flex anymore. They think self-care is a lot
- 9:30Speaker 6: better than burnout.
- 9:33Speaker 1: 90s nostalgia. Millennials love telling everyone how great their childhood was. Oops.
- 9:39Speaker 6: These are things that annoy Gen Z. Making Harry Potter references.
- 9:43Speaker 6: Calling someone a Slytherin is not the insult you think
- 9:46Speaker 6: it is.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Saying the phrase, we did a thing.
- 9:50Speaker 7: We did a thing.
- 9:51Speaker 6: You know, my wife, she says this. I told her,
- 9:54Speaker 6: I finally brought this up after she's been doing it
- 9:55Speaker 6: for a long time. She always says all the things.
- 9:59Speaker 6: we went to Disneyland all the things did all the
- 10:01Speaker 6: things and I told her now I go I'm gonna
- 10:03Speaker 6: bring it up every time you do it because she
- 10:05Speaker 6: goes no I don't so yesterday she's telling the story.
- 10:06Speaker 1: She goes you know and then we went there and
- 10:08Speaker 1: did all the things.
- 10:08Speaker 6: I did all the things she was that's one of
- 10:11Speaker 6: these uh taking pictures of your avocado toast is something
- 10:15Speaker 6: that annoys Gen Z I think that annoys everybody now
- 10:19Speaker 6: And finally, being too comfortable in relationships. Millennials love telling
- 10:22Speaker 6: you that they fart in front of their girlfriend or
- 10:24Speaker 6: their boyfriend. Anyway.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Alright, so where are we at right now? What? I
- 10:30Speaker 1: didn't hear her say it.
- 10:33Speaker 7: Year caller 100.
- 10:33Speaker 6: Ooh, here we go.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Year caller 101. Year caller 102. Year caller 103. Caller
- 10:40Speaker 1: 104 is on line 1.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Okay.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Caller 104 is on line 1. Okay. They gotta get
- 10:47Speaker 1: I have all of the magic words in front of me.
- 10:50Speaker 5: I know.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I hope they have three of them. Okay, here we go.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Let's see. Hello. Good morning, John Jane Rich. Who's this?
- 10:56Speaker 2: Hello. This is Lisa.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Lisa, you are caller 104. No way.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 11:06Speaker 2: That is so exciting.
- 11:08Speaker 1: That's part one. That's part one, Lisa. What are you doing?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Where are you right now? What are you doing?
- 11:13Speaker 8: I'm at home.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I was watering my trees.
- 11:16Speaker 7: No.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Water in your T's?
- 11:18Speaker 4: Trees.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Oh.
- 11:20Speaker 7: Trees. My T's. You got to take care of your alphabet, too.
- 11:23Speaker 7: They need water. Sorry.
- 11:26Speaker 1: If you give us three.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I'm excited.
- 11:28Speaker 6: If you give us three of the 10 magic words,
- 11:31Speaker 6: you get Disneyland tickets.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:33Speaker 7: What do you got?
- 11:34Speaker 5: I'm ready.
- 11:36Speaker 7: California.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Halloween. Did you hear that one? And adventure.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Adventure.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You got it, Lisa.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Yay!
- 11:50Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Thank you so much.
- 11:55Speaker 1: That's so awesome. Well, congratulations.
- 11:57Speaker 6: So you got a ticket, and you're thrown in the
- 11:58Speaker 6: hopper for the grand prize, too. The grand prize is
- 12:03Speaker 6: four three-day, one-park-per-day passes hotel at the Disneyland Resort.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So congratulations, Lisa.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Thanks for listening. I'm so excited. Hold on the line.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 12:12Speaker 1: We're going to get all that information. Hold on.
- 12:14Speaker 6: That's so great. So you've got to collect as many
- 12:16Speaker 6: magic words as you can throughout the day. So we
- 12:18Speaker 6: start this morning probably at 10, right?
- 12:21Speaker 1: 10.20.
- 12:22Speaker 3: 10.05.
- 12:22Speaker 7: 10.05.
- 12:22Speaker 1: 10.05.
- 12:22Speaker 6: We're going to start giving you magic words.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Write them down. Then tomorrow at this time, we will
- 12:29Speaker 1: ask you for those magic words. Very simple.
- 12:31Speaker 6: All right. That's awesome.
- 12:34Speaker 1: The magic words. You can throw this list away.
- 12:38Speaker 7: They're still magic words, though.
- 12:40Speaker 6: Mm-hmm. You ever get halfway to the airport and remember
- 12:43Speaker 6: you left something behind in your hotel room?
- 12:45Speaker 8: Yes.
- 12:46Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 7: Usually a charger.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Oh, my God. That's funny you say that.
- 12:49Speaker 6: According to hotel staff, these are the items that guests
- 12:53Speaker 6: forget the most when checking out. Number one, phone chargers.
- 12:58Speaker 6: They're often plugged in behind nightstands or desks.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yup.
- 13:03Speaker 7: At least three of those have met their doom in
- 13:05Speaker 7: a hotel room. And you're like, ugh, but it's not
- 13:07Speaker 7: worth it to go back for that.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Clothes and swimsuits.
- 13:11Speaker 6: A lot of times people will forget clothes they left
- 13:13Speaker 6: in drawers or bathing suits they left hanging out to
- 13:14Speaker 6: dry in the bathroom. Toothbrushes, skincare products are always left behind.
- 13:22Speaker 6: Sex toys.
- 13:24Speaker 7: Oh, gross.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I feel bad for them finding them.
- 13:27Speaker 7: Yeah, because you're not going to call the hotel Boston fans.
- 13:29Speaker 4: But really annoying if you did accidentally forget it. Like,
- 13:32Speaker 4: I could see how that could be an inconvenience.
- 13:33Speaker 7: I lost my Nibbis 2000. Here you have a reference,
- 13:37Speaker 7: by the way.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Millennial.
- 13:39Speaker 7: Put your microphone away.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know. We were talking about
- 13:45Speaker 1: the U.S.
- 13:45Speaker 6: Open earlier, the tennis tournament in New York, and there
- 13:48Speaker 6: were these two women in pink tennis outfits. Going through
- 13:51Speaker 6: the audience and handing out pink tennis balls. And the
- 13:55Speaker 6: crowd was going crazy for it. And then someone grabbed
- 13:57Speaker 6: a look and they were sex toys.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Uh-oh. In the shape of tennis balls.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Oh.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that vibrate.
- 14:03Speaker 7: Oh, I think I did see that.
- 14:04Speaker 1: That's pretty wild.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Why?
- 14:06Speaker 7: I'm getting crazy over there.
- 14:08Speaker 1: These are things people leave behind in hotel rooms. Jewelry, wallets, cash,
- 14:13Speaker 1: and passports. That's bad. Forgetting your ID is pretty hard
- 14:16Speaker 1: to travel. Dentures. How do you forget that?
- 14:20Speaker 6: Sometimes people leave dentures on bathroom counters.
- 14:23Speaker 7: How are you not looking in the mirror and seeing
- 14:24Speaker 7: that you don't have any teeth? Wouldn't you feel it?
- 14:26Speaker 1: You would think.
- 14:27Speaker 7: Or the first bite into your little snack, you'd be like, hey,
- 14:29Speaker 7: wait a minute. I'm missing my teeth.
