Mariana fled Ukraine when the full invasion by Russia started. She first went to Poland, then Montenegro, until she finally relocated to Málaga, Spain. Mariana goes back to Ukraine yearly, to visit her family and connect with her culture, but has also learned Spanish and values the life she is building in Málaga.
