- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, now nine till noon weekdays on 710WOR.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hey, if there's some good news here, if you're a Democrat,
- 0:15Speaker 2: cover your ears for a minute. The GDP, the growth
- 0:19Speaker 2: numbers have come out. We were expected to grow 3.1%
- 0:21Speaker 2: the GDP. The numbers have come out and we've actually
- 0:26Speaker 2: grown even more. It's 3.4%. beating expectations that's pretty good
- 0:31Speaker 2: gdp growth it indicates a good booming healthy economy all
- 0:38Speaker 2: right if you're a democrat you can uncover your ears
- 0:41Speaker 2: uh so that's good news now the elections in israel
- 0:45Speaker 2: are too close to call at this point bb netanyahu
- 0:47Speaker 2: has a lead but a very slight lead so they
- 0:51Speaker 2: won't officially declare a winner yet uh netanyahu uh slightly
- 0:57Speaker 2: ahead and That lead is held for about the last
- 1:01Speaker 2: 24 hours, so that's good news. The opponent, Eisen... What's
- 1:07Speaker 2: his name? Eisenglatt. Close second. Now, at some point, it's
- 1:12Speaker 2: possible that one of them, most likely Netanyahu, will get
- 1:16Speaker 2: the other parties to form coalitions. You have to get
- 1:19Speaker 2: over 61 seats to take control, so that could happen.
- 1:24Speaker 2: But they'll keep trying to get the... the final, final,
- 1:28Speaker 2: final numbers and then declare a winner. But Netanyahu, so
- 1:31Speaker 2: far in the lead, but very slightly, and he's going
- 1:34Speaker 2: to have to get some other parties to join him,
- 1:36Speaker 2: create a coalition to be in control. We'll see what happens.
- 1:41Speaker 2: The opposition guy, former IDF, Israel Defense Forces commander, the
- 1:50Speaker 2: difference between him and Netanyahu, as far as the war,
- 1:56Speaker 2: They both would go all out to defend Israel, of course,
- 1:59Speaker 2: against any Hamas or any craziness like that. They differ
- 2:03Speaker 2: on Iran. Netanyahu would like to just go totally, totally
- 2:09Speaker 2: wipe out Iran's regime. The opponent, though, he's all for
- 2:17Speaker 2: military strikes on Iran. He doesn't believe it's possible to
- 2:19Speaker 2: get regime change. So President Trump would rather have Netanyahu.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I think Trump wants regime change. as most people do,
- 2:27Speaker 2: looking for a more permanent solution. So it's going to
- 2:31Speaker 2: be another day or two before we get a definite
- 2:33Speaker 2: winner in Israel. Hey, the evening news, they still have this,
- 2:38Speaker 2: believe it or not. It's an antiquated sort of thing.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You know, back in the good old days, you'd get
- 2:43Speaker 2: home and you'd watch the CBS evening news with Walter Cronkite,
- 2:48Speaker 2: or you'd watch NBC news. It was Huntley and Brinkley,
- 2:51Speaker 2: and then it was John Chancellor, and then it was
- 2:54Speaker 2: Tom Brokaw. You know, you worked all day. You went
- 2:57Speaker 2: to school all day, whatever. You were busy all day.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And then you got home and you put on the
- 3:02Speaker 2: local news. You got all your local news at 6
- 3:05Speaker 2: and 6.30. You got all the national news. And that
- 3:08Speaker 2: was it, believe it or not. That was all you
- 3:11Speaker 2: got as far as the news. One hour, six to
- 3:13Speaker 2: seven of news on television. That was it. There was
- 3:18Speaker 2: nothing else. Now, then Ted Turner comes along and he
- 3:23Speaker 2: invents CNN. Oh, look at that. You could watch the
- 3:26Speaker 2: news anytime you want. In fact, you could watch it
- 3:28Speaker 2: all day if you want. There was nothing but news.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And remember, in the old Ted Turner beginnings of CNN,
- 3:34Speaker 2: it was fair, balanced, neutral. It was legitimate news back then.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And everybody said he was crazy. How the hell could
- 3:43Speaker 2: you have news all day? Who's going to want a
- 3:44Speaker 2: 24-hour news channel on television. They thought he was insane.
- 3:49Speaker 2: His family wanted to have him committed. They thought it
- 3:51Speaker 2: was nuts. But he always said, they got these all-news
- 3:56Speaker 2: radio stations, and in every city where they have them,
- 4:00Speaker 2: they do really well. Some cities, the all-news station is
- 4:02Speaker 2: number one. So he said, if it's working on radio,
- 4:05Speaker 2: why wouldn't it work on TV? And that's where he
- 4:07Speaker 2: got the idea. And of course, CNN took off. Big,
- 4:11Speaker 2: big help by the Gulf War, the old Gulf War.
- 4:16Speaker 2: because then everybody wanted 24-7 coverage, and they turned to
- 4:19Speaker 2: CNN for the Gulf War, and some real stars emerged
- 4:23Speaker 2: from that. That's how Wolf Blitzer became famous. Who was
- 4:26Speaker 2: the other guy? The Scud Stud. Remember him? The good-looking
- 4:31Speaker 2: guy with the Scud missiles? What was his name? I
- 4:34Speaker 2: don't remember. That's how everybody got to know Christiane Amanpour,
- 4:37Speaker 2: and there was CNN well-known anchors, Bernard Shaw and all
- 4:42Speaker 2: those guys, and that's the good old days. What was
- 4:44Speaker 2: my point? Oh, the point is, It's now 2026. You know,
- 4:49Speaker 2: you had CNN came along, then Fox News and MSNBC
- 4:54Speaker 2: got three or four. You got Newsmax. You got a
- 4:56Speaker 2: whole bunch of 24-7 news channels. And then the internet
- 5:00Speaker 2: comes along and you got a million news sites. You
- 5:04Speaker 2: can get news every second, all day, 24. So what's
- 5:07Speaker 2: the point of the evening news? What's the point of it?
- 5:13Speaker 1: Who needs it? Uh.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I guess some older people. I'm looking at the ratings.
- 5:18Speaker 2: The demos on the evening news on the networks, very, very,
- 5:22Speaker 2: very old. So I guess it's people that don't get
- 5:24Speaker 2: their news off the internet. But it's interesting. ABC with
- 5:28Speaker 2: David Muir, that network newscast, number one with over 8
- 5:33Speaker 2: million viewers. In fact, believe it or not, most weeks,
- 5:36Speaker 2: it's the single biggest show in television, aside from football
- 5:39Speaker 2: and all that. It's the most watched show, beats everything
- 5:43Speaker 2: in primetime with 8 million. Number two, NBC with six million,
- 5:49Speaker 2: which is not bad. Pretty good. That's the new anchor
- 5:52Speaker 2: whose name is, I can't remember, but he's the guy
- 5:55Speaker 2: that replaced Lester Holton. He's doing great. Now, CBS News,
- 5:59Speaker 2: the four million, half of what ABC gets. It's a
- 6:04Speaker 2: distant third place at four million. And that's this Tony Ducoupil.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I don't know what they can do over there. I mean,
- 6:14Speaker 2: You could just put it out of its misery. No
- 6:16Speaker 2: reason to do the evening news anymore. Do something else.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Put a game show on it. It'll get triple the ratings.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Do something else. Or I guess you can just, you know,
- 6:28Speaker 2: you can make a living with 4 million viewers watching you.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So I guess they're happy with it. It's okay. But
- 6:36Speaker 2: now there's stuff going on all over the world. With
- 6:38Speaker 2: Ukraine and Russia, they are going to sit down and talk.
- 6:42Speaker 2: The U.S. will be there. They call that trilateral talks.
- 6:45Speaker 2: They will begin, uh, within days of the midterms. In fact,
- 6:50Speaker 2: probably the week after the midterm election election day is
- 6:53Speaker 2: next Tuesday and probably right after that, they'll start the talks.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It'll be, uh, Ukraine, Russia, the U S face to
- 7:01Speaker 2: face talks. They'll take place in Abu Dhabi in the UAE. And, uh, Now,
- 7:11Speaker 2: the only thing going on as far as Ukraine and Russia,
- 7:13Speaker 2: the normal fighting, the only thing going on is there
- 7:16Speaker 2: was a massive drone attack against Russia's capital. I don't
- 7:21Speaker 2: know what he was thinking because, you know, wait for
- 7:23Speaker 2: the talks, but Zelensky tried to hit Moscow hard with
- 7:28Speaker 2: a massive drone attack aiming right for the capital. Russia
- 7:32Speaker 2: managed to shoot down 10 drones heading into Moscow. So very,
- 7:38Speaker 2: very aggressive on the part of Zelensky. Hey, the marathon
- 7:42Speaker 2: is this weekend. That's on Sunday. But you got to remember,
- 7:45Speaker 2: Friday night and all day Saturday, restaurants will be going
- 7:50Speaker 2: crazy with these marathon runners. They come from all over
- 7:53Speaker 2: the world. Thousands of these runners come in and they
- 7:57Speaker 2: do this stupid thing they call carb loading where they
- 7:59Speaker 2: got to eat pasta all day and night. And if
- 8:03Speaker 2: it's an Italian restaurant, it will be clogged up with people.
- 8:07Speaker 2: You're going to find it very difficult to get in
- 8:09Speaker 2: anywhere Friday and Saturday. And actually, non-Italian restaurants deliberately changed
- 8:15Speaker 2: the menu for a special marathon menu for carb loading.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So that's this weekend. Marathon on Sunday. Be a traffic
- 8:24Speaker 2: nightmare trying to get around. So just remember that. As
- 8:28Speaker 2: I said, the GDP looks great. Growth over the last
- 8:32Speaker 2: quarter better than expected. Fed meeting yesterday. Kevin Warsh talked
- 8:38Speaker 2: about inflation.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Real activity is clearly pointing in the right direction. That's
- 8:42Speaker 3: good news. But inflation is too high. Energy and related
- 8:47Speaker 3: prices have moved higher again in recent weeks. And our
- 8:51Speaker 3: job is to ensure that relative price changes in some
- 8:55Speaker 3: sectors do not broaden out across the economy.
- 9:00Speaker 2: No interest rate hike, though.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Economic activity is expanding at a strong pace. While uncertainty remains,
- 9:08Speaker 3: owing in part to geopolitical developments, domestic spending has been resilient.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Productivity growth is strong and capital investment robust.
- 9:18Speaker 2: He's a very nice guy, Kevin Warsh. I know the guy.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And sometimes you sit and talk with him and he
- 9:22Speaker 2: tells you about that stuff. And you look at him
- 9:25Speaker 2: and you go, I don't know why a guy would
- 9:28Speaker 2: want this job. But some people love this stuff. Hugh Hefner. Uh,
- 9:37Speaker 2: I knew him a little and he used to come
- 9:39Speaker 2: on the show. Remember we used to have Hugh Hefner on.
- 9:41Speaker 2: He was, uh, you know, funny, charming and, uh, had
- 9:47Speaker 2: all those women and, uh, uh, had that big round
- 9:51Speaker 2: bed and he spent his whole day in his pajamas
- 9:53Speaker 2: walking around with that, smoking jacket. But he did have
- 9:59Speaker 2: a wife the last few years. The wife is now talking.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I don't know who to believe in all this, but
- 10:04Speaker 2: the wife and a couple of former playmates, they're all talking.
- 10:08Speaker 2: First of all, there were a lot of celebrities at
- 10:11Speaker 2: that Playboy mansion. Ooh, he had parties all the time.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I went to a few of those, and he'd have
- 10:16Speaker 2: movie night parties. The funniest thing with the movie night,
- 10:19Speaker 2: Hefner loved movies. You'd all get in this room and
- 10:23Speaker 2: he'd had all the bunnies and the playmates and they'd
- 10:26Speaker 2: show a movie. The problem was these playmates, these centerfolds,
- 10:31Speaker 2: they're all 23 years old. Hefner would always show a
- 10:35Speaker 2: movie from the 1940s. These people didn't know what the
- 10:39Speaker 2: hell they were looking at. They'd never seen black and white.
- 10:41Speaker 2: They didn't know who the hell Humphrey Bogart is or
- 10:43Speaker 2: any of these people. So they would just... Doze off.
- 10:47Speaker 2: He would love these movies. All the classics from the 40s.
- 10:51Speaker 2: They had no idea why they were looking at this.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And then, of course, there was the grotto and all
- 10:56Speaker 2: of that. And there were celebrities that were taking advantage
- 11:00Speaker 2: of all of this. So Hefner's ex-wife said the worst
- 11:05Speaker 2: was Jack Nicholson, who was always there, treating it like
- 11:09Speaker 2: a drive-thru. She said Nicholson was such a frequent visitor.
- 11:15Speaker 2: uh that they called it jack's drive-thru at one point
- 11:19Speaker 2: he would and she said it was not only women
- 11:21Speaker 2: but sometimes if you needed food he'd just come through
- 11:23Speaker 2: you know they had buffets everywhere everything uh so nicholson
- 11:27Speaker 2: always there but she also gets into a lot of
- 11:30Speaker 2: stuff about hefner and the sex life and how uh
- 11:36Speaker 2: yeah he did have uh three four you know the
- 11:39Speaker 2: problem is If you sleep with a million centerfolds and
- 11:42Speaker 2: a million playboys, I've seen this with famous actors. If
- 11:46Speaker 2: you sleep with millions and millions and millions and millions
- 11:48Speaker 2: and beautiful women, after a while, it kind of gets
- 11:51Speaker 2: boring to you. You've done it 10 million times. It
- 11:54Speaker 2: doesn't do anything for you. So then they've got to
- 11:56Speaker 2: start having two women at once and three women at
- 11:58Speaker 2: once and four women at once. And then after a while,
- 12:02Speaker 2: that gets boring. Do you remember Peter Lawford? His wife
- 12:05Speaker 2: told me once she said that. After that, he was like...
- 12:08Speaker 2: It would be ducks and horses, anything, whatever he had
- 12:11Speaker 2: to do. But she says Hefner had more and more
- 12:16Speaker 2: women at the same time. And then he bought out
- 12:19Speaker 2: these dirty sex toys, wanted them to use them. And
- 12:22Speaker 2: then he would have twins and wanted them to have
- 12:27Speaker 2: sex with each other. She said it just got more
- 12:29Speaker 2: and more and more gross. But I don't know. What's
- 12:32Speaker 2: the point of saying all this now? Why bring it up? Hey,
- 12:36Speaker 2: this Katie Zachariah, I don't know why she's doing these shows.
- 12:41Speaker 2: She runs around doing these TV shows. You know, the
- 12:44Speaker 2: smart thing to do, go away for a while, give
- 12:46Speaker 2: it six months, let it die out. But she goes
- 12:49Speaker 2: on with Piers Morgan, who's always looking for trouble. So
- 12:54Speaker 2: he's tearing into her about exactly how did you get fired?
- 12:56Speaker 2: What did President Trump say to you? And she's being
- 12:59Speaker 2: very diplomatic and very gracious. And she said, well, President
- 13:03Speaker 2: Trump and I have a good relationship and I still
- 13:06Speaker 2: admire what he's doing for the country. And she started
- 13:08Speaker 2: talking about his accomplishments. And he starts yelling at her.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Cut the crap, he said. You're not his press secretary anymore.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I'm asking you, what happened when you got fired? Well,
- 13:19Speaker 2: she didn't really want to talk about it. He said,
- 13:20Speaker 2: you're dodging the question. Well, she's being gracious. He said,
- 13:23Speaker 2: it was very nice to me. He was very kind
- 13:25Speaker 2: to me and my family. And he said, what did
- 13:29Speaker 2: he say? He said, well, President Trump has already revealed
- 13:32Speaker 2: what he said. There's no reason to do this. But
- 13:34Speaker 2: That's Piers Morgan. He comes from the British tabloid world
- 13:37Speaker 2: where you try to create a sensation. But what the
- 13:41Speaker 2: hell is she doing on this show? Stay home for
- 13:43Speaker 2: a while. Stay home. You know, the problem is when
- 13:47Speaker 2: she was press secretary, it wasn't going well. Then she
- 13:50Speaker 2: did that infamous Hannity interview where she wasn't good at all.
- 13:54Speaker 2: And he was asking the tough questions in a very
- 13:56Speaker 2: nice way. I mean, it wasn't browbeating or anything, but
- 13:59Speaker 2: she didn't handle it that well. And that helped speed
- 14:02Speaker 2: up her departure. So Since she's not good at these interviews,
- 14:05Speaker 2: don't do them. Don't do them. Write a book. Write
- 14:09Speaker 2: an article. Do something else. But don't do these interviews
- 14:12Speaker 2: and give the host a chance to just beat you
- 14:15Speaker 2: up or showboat for the cameras. So Kamala Harris, one
- 14:22Speaker 2: of the great goofballs of the world, Kamala Harris, is
- 14:26Speaker 2: now running around speaking to Democrats, advising them. Kamala Harris, though,
- 14:32Speaker 2: is warning Democrats against impeaching Trump. If somehow the Democrats
- 14:39Speaker 2: take control, she said, don't spend all day impeaching. Use
- 14:46Speaker 2: the energy and resources for something better. Get something done
- 14:50Speaker 2: for America.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Wow.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Do you believe Kamala Harris giving common sense advice? But
- 14:56Speaker 2: she also said, hold everybody accountable. These Republicans are ruthless, ruthless.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Do it to them. Hold everybody accountable. You know, actually,
- 15:06Speaker 2: the Republicans aren't so ruthless when it comes to hearings
- 15:10Speaker 2: in the House. You know, you watch those Democrats when
- 15:12Speaker 2: they hold hearings. Oh, my God, they are brutal. There's
- 15:15Speaker 2: a million soundbites that night. But Republicans, they're not so
- 15:19Speaker 2: good at doing hearings. But she says, go after everybody.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Go after Pete Hegseth, who I think is hollowing out
- 15:26Speaker 2: our military, politicizing our military. You know, you can't really
- 15:29Speaker 2: go after Hegseth for that because— In the last year
- 15:33Speaker 2: that he's been there, we have pulled off the most
- 15:36Speaker 2: successful military operations in history. From the Maduro capture to
- 15:42Speaker 2: the taking out that nuclear mountain in Iran. And he's
- 15:45Speaker 2: pulled off some amazing stuff. The rescue of the downed
- 15:49Speaker 2: pilots in the middle of Iran. Some amazing military operations.
- 15:54Speaker 2: All successful on his watch. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 15:58Speaker 5: 800-321-7000.
- 15:58Speaker 2: 0710 is the number. Give me a call, especially if
- 16:03Speaker 2: you're a new caller.
- 16:06Speaker 5: 800-321-0710.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios, the Mark Simone Show. Hey,
- 16:15Speaker 2: let's take some calls. Let's go to Tom in Delaware. Tom,
- 16:20Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 16:20Speaker 4: Hey, Mark. Thanks for taking the call. I've been here
- 16:25Speaker 4: about two and a half years. I moved from New
- 16:26Speaker 4: York after 68 years living there. And I just want
- 16:30Speaker 4: to make a comment on the governor race in Maryland.
- 16:33Speaker 4: The governor there is Wes Moore.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 4: And if you drive along Route 50, you can see
- 16:39Speaker 4: the signs.
- 16:39Speaker 5: You know, more is less.
- 16:41Speaker 2: No more lies.
- 16:42Speaker 4: And they really trash him. But life in Delaware is good.
- 16:46Speaker 2: What do you do down there in Delaware? I'm retired.
- 16:50Speaker 4: So in the summer, I try to go to the beach.
- 16:53Speaker 4: I'm three miles from Bethany Beach.
- 16:55Speaker 5: All right.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Beautiful beaches. What do you do in the winter down there?
- 16:59Speaker 4: Well, a lot of people socialize and drink and, you know,
- 17:03Speaker 4: party and carry on.
- 17:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 17:05Speaker 2: That's not bad.
- 17:06Speaker 4: That's not bad.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Sounds good. You notice when you say
- 17:10Speaker 2: to somebody in Delaware, what do you do down there?
- 17:11Speaker 2: You get, well, it's not like New York. You're missing
- 17:17Speaker 2: a lot of fun when you leave New York. Let's
- 17:20Speaker 2: go to Randall in Maryland. We were just talking about Maryland. Randall,
- 17:24Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 17:25Speaker 4: Good, Mark.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Boy, you're right about Les Moore. We, We don't like
- 17:30Speaker 6: Les Moore whatsoever. He's a fraud. But I wanted to
- 17:35Speaker 6: thank you for bringing up Dan Rather again. You called
- 17:40Speaker 6: him the father of fake news. That is right. And
- 17:45Speaker 6: didn't he also call the election prematurely before the West
- 17:50Speaker 6: Coast for John Kerry?
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he was always fake news, always fake news.
- 17:57Speaker 2: He tried to tamper with the Bush-Clinton election with his
- 18:02Speaker 2: fake economy and crisis reports, and then he finally went
- 18:05Speaker 2: too far.
- 18:06Speaker 5: And he got caught.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he finally went too far.
- 18:08Speaker 6: He got caught.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Actually using forged documents, and he was so bad at it,
- 18:14Speaker 2: and he got caught so badly, even CBS had to
- 18:17Speaker 2: fire the guy. It was always a little slant to
- 18:21Speaker 2: the news, but he went. into total fraud fake news.
- 18:24Speaker 2: You can thank Dan Rather for that. Is this, it
- 18:26Speaker 2: says Al from, is this the, Al used to be
- 18:29Speaker 2: one of our most frequent callers. Is this Al Harris?
- 18:34Speaker 7: Mark, good morning. It's a pleasure. It's a pleasure, Mark. Mark,
- 18:39Speaker 7: you want to hear something? Monday, I'm home.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Is this really Al?
- 18:43Speaker 7: It's Mark. I had surgery. My voice isn't the same, Mark. Mark,
- 18:50Speaker 7: Monday morning, I'm listening to you. About 10 o'clock, I
- 18:53Speaker 7: had company, so I had to shut the radio off.
- 18:56Speaker 7: My buddy calls me up. He goes, Al, you want
- 18:59Speaker 7: Mark Simone? We're asking for you this and that. I
- 19:01Speaker 7: told him he was joking around. So I finally, the
- 19:06Speaker 7: last couple of days.
- 19:07Speaker 2: I used to call all the time. Al was your former,
- 19:10Speaker 2: what did you do for a living?
- 19:11Speaker 7: I had a correction.
- 19:12Speaker 2: All right, that's right. Did I ever meet you?
- 19:16Speaker 7: Oh, a couple of times. Mark, I got pictures of
- 19:18Speaker 7: you all over my house.
- 19:19Speaker 2: All right, this really is Alvin. Okay, I believe you.
- 19:21Speaker 7: Oh, yeah. Sure, Mark. Mark, you know something? I went
- 19:26Speaker 7: into the hospital three years ago for a spine surgery.
- 19:30Speaker 7: I was supposed to be in and out in two days.
- 19:32Speaker 7: I was in there five months. They severed my artery.
- 19:36Speaker 7: I'm on a feeding tube.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 19:39Speaker 7: I'm walking around with a cane, yada, yada, yada. But Mark,
- 19:42Speaker 7: I have not stopped listening to you.
- 19:44Speaker 6: All right.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Well, you sound good, Al. You know, your old voice,
- 19:47Speaker 2: it was higher, lighter, was a... like this voice. I
- 19:51Speaker 2: like this voice, but you sound tougher this way, Al.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Pretty good.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Yes, Mark.
- 19:55Speaker 7: You know, something just, you know, I'll never forget the
- 19:58Speaker 7: first phone call they gave you. It was about 15
- 20:01Speaker 7: years ago. You were talking about Chick-fil-A.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:05Speaker 7: And I said they built one in Amityville. And I go,
- 20:10Speaker 7: it's a brothel, you know, Chick-fil-A.
- 20:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 7: That was my first joke.
- 20:14Speaker 2: I forgot he used to make these bad jokes. But
- 20:16Speaker 2: he's a nice guy.
- 20:17Speaker 7: But, Mark, thank you and your callers. Your callers for
- 20:21Speaker 7: remembering me.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Everybody remembers you.
- 20:24Speaker 7: It blew my mind, Mark. It really did. Hey, Mark,
- 20:28Speaker 7: on the serious side, you know, you mentioned Tony Coppola.
- 20:32Speaker 7: You know, I put him on a couple of times. Just,
- 20:36Speaker 7: you know, he comes off like a nice guy. Very
- 20:39Speaker 7: nice looking. The other day when I saw him interviewing Trump.
- 20:43Speaker 7: You know, the snake came out.
- 20:45Speaker 6: No, no.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Well, they're all crazy left-wingers.
- 20:47Speaker 5: I know.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Hey, Al, we got to go. But you sound good, Al.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 20:52Speaker 2: It's good to hear from you. You sound okay.
- 20:53Speaker 7: I'm just talking to you. Greg Weismore, thank you.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Bye-bye. All right.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Good to hear from you. Take care. Yeah, he was
- 20:59Speaker 2: one of our most frequent callers years ago. Sounds different now,
- 21:02Speaker 2: but he sounds good. He sounds good. Anyway, we got, oh,
- 21:06Speaker 2: coming up, the great Jimmy Fallon. He does one of
- 21:10Speaker 2: the funniest shows you'll ever hear. It's every night at
- 21:12Speaker 2: 9 o'clock. here on WOR. He does the best late-night
- 21:16Speaker 2: show in television. Saturday nights on the Fox News Channel.
- 21:20Speaker 2: We'll talk to him next on 710WOR. Let's get the
- 21:25Speaker 2: latest news. Here's Daria Albinger.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Hey, Mark.
- 21:27Speaker 8: Sunny and warmer today with a high of 68 degrees.
- 21:29Speaker 8: New Jersey lawmakers sent a letter to New Jersey Transit.
- 21:34Speaker 8: They say, we'll be understanding, to a point. Three of them,
- 21:37Speaker 8: representing Bergen, Passaic, and Essex County, say they know the
- 21:40Speaker 8: project to modernize the Port Authority bus terminal is going
- 21:42Speaker 8: to add to the commute time but they say the
- 21:46Speaker 8: transit agency must do all that they can to minimize
- 21:49Speaker 8: those delays. Five days to the midterms. President Trump and
- 21:53Speaker 8: former President Obama will be back out on the campaign trail.
- 21:56Speaker 8: The president in South Carolina today, the former president in Georgia.
- 22:00Speaker 8: Unemployment claims took a big drop last week. The Labor
- 22:03Speaker 8: Department says requests for benefits dropped by about 1,000 from
- 22:06Speaker 8: the week before. Mayor Mamdani admitting that he and his
- 22:09Speaker 8: friends used the NYPD Training Academy gym for late-night pick
- 22:13Speaker 8: up basketball games. He said he was told it was okay.
- 22:16Speaker 8: He said if there's a problem, he'll find somewhere else
- 22:18Speaker 8: to play. On Wall Street, the Dow is down 114
- 22:21Speaker 8: points and NASDAQ is off 314 and the S &
- 22:23Speaker 8: P is off 19. Next news, 11 o'clock, bulletins at once.
- 22:28Speaker 8: Wake up with Curtis Lewa and Larry Menti. Six to
- 22:30Speaker 8: nine weekdays. I'm Daria Albinger on 710 WOR.
- 22:34Speaker 9: I'm meteorologist Ken Boone with your WOR forecast from the
- 22:37Speaker 9: Weather Channel. Pleasant weather for us here today. Sunny skies
- 22:39Speaker 9: and warmer closing in on 70 this afternoon. 10 plus
- 22:42Speaker 9: degrees above average. Fair to partly cloudy skies tonight, middle
- 22:45Speaker 9: to upper 50s, sunny and breezy for tomorrow. Again, temperatures
- 22:47Speaker 9: above average with highs near 70. Cooler this weekend. Currently
- 22:51Speaker 9: 56 at WOR.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Now 9 till noon weekday.
- 22:55Speaker 8: Smart Simone.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Only on 710 WOR.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Well, Jimmy Fela, he does a great show here every night,
- 23:05Speaker 2: 9 to midnight. It's really funny, interesting. I don't know
- 23:08Speaker 2: how he keeps it up for three hours, but he does.
- 23:11Speaker 2: And then on Saturday nights, he does the best late-night
- 23:13Speaker 2: show on television, Saturday nights at 10, Fox News Channel.
- 23:17Speaker 2: The finest monologue in all of television. Make sure you
- 23:20Speaker 2: watch it. Jimmy Fela, how you doing?
- 23:23Speaker 5: Good.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I survived a wild night in Fairfield, New Jersey with
- 23:27Speaker 1: the WOR listeners last night.
- 23:29Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I heard you sold out the whole place.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Kachina Calandra. You know you've made it when you're
- 23:36Speaker 5: on the breadstick circuit, you know? Yeah. A lot of
- 23:40Speaker 5: guys wanted to get on Carson.
- 23:41Speaker 1: They wanted to get on the Vegas Strip. I wanted
- 23:43Speaker 1: to get on Route 46.
- 23:45Speaker 5: And a ship has sailed in. It was great. We
- 23:48Speaker 5: loved it. Good, rowdy crowd.
- 23:49Speaker 1: You cannot offend a New Jersey audience. And believe me,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I tried everything. It didn't happen.
- 23:56Speaker 2: But, you know, you travel the country every week and
- 23:57Speaker 2: you play the biggest venues. Isn't it kind of nice
- 24:00Speaker 2: to be a more intimate kind of club?
- 24:03Speaker 1: Yes, because that's how you start out as a comic.
- 24:06Speaker 1: You're not playing 2,000 and 3,000 seat theaters. You usually
- 24:09Speaker 1: are partnering with a restaurant to.
- 24:12Speaker 5: Do like a comedy night.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And the funny thing about last night, and this is
- 24:16Speaker 1: what was different about it, is obviously it's a much
- 24:19Speaker 1: classier venue than I started out in, but also the
- 24:22Speaker 1: customers knew there was going to be a comedy show, okay?
- 24:26Speaker 5: One of the things they do in Manhattan.
- 24:27Speaker 1: And they do a little bit out on Long Island
- 24:29Speaker 1: is sometimes you'll show up to a night of spaghetti
- 24:32Speaker 1: thinking you're going to have a quiet dinner, and then
- 24:34Speaker 1: you find out two bites in that you're in the
- 24:35Speaker 1: front row of a 35-comic extravaganza.
- 24:39Speaker 5: So.
- 24:40Speaker 1: It wasn't an ambush. It was a premeditated attack, and
- 24:43Speaker 1: everybody was in on it, and it was so great.
- 24:45Speaker 5: So shout out to WOR. They did a good job
- 24:47Speaker 5: on that.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Because of you. You did it.
- 24:50Speaker 5: I guess.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Let's talk seriously about the Cheesecake Factory. I got the
- 24:56Speaker 2: impression that Obama did not really understand what Cheesecake Factory
- 25:00Speaker 2: means to Americans, real middle America.
- 25:04Speaker 5: Number one.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Number two, his apology of, he said— You know, I
- 25:08Speaker 1: have two daughters. I hung out at the Cheesecake Factory.
- 25:11Speaker 5: That was my jam.
- 25:12Speaker 1: He wasn't going to the Cheesecake Factory, okay? Or they'd
- 25:16Speaker 1: be putting up pictures to defend him, you know? They
- 25:20Speaker 1: don't have those pictures because he wasn't going because he
- 25:23Speaker 1: is an elitist snob.
- 25:25Speaker 5: I should tell you this, you.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Know, because everybody always says, well, you know, Michelle Obama
- 25:29Speaker 1: is going to run someday. She's not going to run
- 25:31Speaker 1: someday because she hates everybody. She doesn't want to be
- 25:34Speaker 1: around little people like us on the campaign trail, and
- 25:37Speaker 1: neither does he.
- 25:38Speaker 5: So when he showed up and did his.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Little– he does his little routine and he bangs on
- 25:42Speaker 1: Trump and everything else, and the crowd loves it. But
- 25:45Speaker 1: you know who doesn't love it? Everybody else. Like, Obama
- 25:48Speaker 1: is a star if you're in the room. But if
- 25:51Speaker 1: you look at his endorsement record, okay, Obama's presidential endorsements
- 25:55Speaker 1: have clothed half the people in Honduras. There's President Hillary hoodies. There's,
- 26:00Speaker 1: you know, Kamala Harris 2024 first email.
- 26:04Speaker 5: We broke the glass ceiling. It's all down there. They're
- 26:06Speaker 5: walking around in it right now.
- 26:07Speaker 1: They're wearing Tampa Bay Rays World Series championship outfits.
- 26:10Speaker 5: As we speak. That's what Obama does. Yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 2: That's a good point. There would be photos of him
- 26:16Speaker 2: in the Cheesecake Factory if he'd ever been there. Totally.
- 26:21Speaker 2: You must experience this, though, with some of these, you know, Washington, D.C.,
- 26:27Speaker 2: Upper East Side, Southampton crowd. They've never been to real America.
- 26:30Speaker 2: They've never heard of the Olive Garden. They don't know
- 26:32Speaker 2: what it is. They think the Cheesecake Factory is a
- 26:35Speaker 2: little store that sells cheesecakes. They think that's all it is.
- 26:40Speaker 1: You know one of my favorite things, because you're right
- 26:42Speaker 1: about that, They don't travel. What they consider to be
- 26:45Speaker 1: the flyover states are actually the best states. You're never
- 26:50Speaker 1: going to walk out the door in Findlay, Ohio, and
- 26:52Speaker 1: see some wizard with no pants on. sitting on a
- 26:56Speaker 1: park bench like you might here in New York. And
- 26:59Speaker 1: they don't realize that those people, culture-wise, have everything we
- 27:02Speaker 1: do now. In the age of the internet, everybody has
- 27:04Speaker 1: the same restaurants, everybody has the same stores.
- 27:06Speaker 5: It's all the same. But the most offensive thing.
- 27:09Speaker 1: New York coastal elites ever did regarding the Cheesecake Factory is,
- 27:13Speaker 1: do you remember when.
- 27:14Speaker 5: Bloomberg started slapping calories on all the menus? Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 1: I was like, hey, Bloomberg, okay, nobody was counting calories
- 27:22Speaker 1: at a place called the Cheesecake Factory. It was implied
- 27:27Speaker 1: in the bargain that I might be eating a little
- 27:29Speaker 1: unhealthy tonight.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Okay.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I mean, come on, man.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I love the Cheesecake Factory, but like you, you look
- 27:38Speaker 2: at the menu. I know it's calories, but sometimes like
- 27:41Speaker 2: 3,800 calories on one entree. Who knew it was that bad?
- 27:44Speaker 2: But it's worth it, isn't it? So guys like you, Hannity,
- 27:50Speaker 2: you're different from people on MSNOW or CNN. You know,
- 27:53Speaker 2: they just live in the bubble. But guys like you, Hannity,
- 27:57Speaker 2: all these, you travel the country. You've been in a
- 28:00Speaker 2: diner in Pittsburgh. You've been in an IHOP in the
- 28:02Speaker 2: middle of Nebraska. So it's an experience none of those
- 28:07Speaker 2: Democrats have. They never talk to real people, do they?
- 28:11Speaker 1: No, they don't even talk to their staff. They don't
- 28:13Speaker 1: even talk to their coworkers. Like, you know what's interesting
- 28:17Speaker 1: about Fox, okay? You can throw on Hannity at 9 o'clock,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and you might see a Fox & Friends host on
- 28:22Speaker 1: there as a guest, meaning a morning guest. You might
- 28:24Speaker 1: see a midday guest. We all do each other's shows.
- 28:27Speaker 1: There's a little more of a community here. You've never
- 28:29Speaker 1: turned on Morning Joe and seen Rachel Maddow on the panel.
- 28:34Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 28:34Speaker 1: You're never going to turn on Rachel Maddow and see
- 28:36Speaker 1: Mika Brzezinski doing a nighttime hit. Because they all think
- 28:39Speaker 1: they're the center.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Of the universe, and they hate everybody.
- 28:43Speaker 1: So you can't imagine how they feel about going out
- 28:46Speaker 1: to Long Island to the Embassy Diner and, you know,
- 28:49Speaker 1: meeting Gus and one of the guys over there.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Serving you good Greek food. Oh, my God. You know
- 28:53Speaker 5: what I mean, Gus? These people are monsters. Monsters.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Jimmy Fallon, Ilan Omar. Now they find out this is
- 29:00Speaker 2: just breaking her real name, Dan Sullivan. So maybe she could.
- 29:04Speaker 8: Join us too.
- 29:07Speaker 2: You got me.
- 29:08Speaker 6: Good job.
- 29:09Speaker 5: That's amazing.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So, hey, this is Dan Sullivan. Trump is right. These
- 29:14Speaker 2: people should be arrested for this fraud, shouldn't they?
- 29:17Speaker 5: Totally.
- 29:17Speaker 1: But I want to be up front with the audience.
- 29:19Speaker 1: We tried to do this in 2024. We wanted to
- 29:22Speaker 1: find another Kamala Harris, but we couldn't get into the
- 29:24Speaker 1: AA meetings.
- 29:26Speaker 5: It was tricky. But yeah, no, it's a definite scam.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And my favorite thing about it is Every Democrat has
- 29:32Speaker 1: spent the last week telling us Trump's going to interfere.
- 29:35Speaker 5: He's going to send in ICE. They're going to confiscate
- 29:37Speaker 5: the ballots.
- 29:38Speaker 1: They constantly accuse us of cheating while they're actually cheating.
- 29:42Speaker 1: You know, they put two Dan Sullivans.
- 29:44Speaker 5: And I saw a girl on CNN last night. Okay.
- 29:46Speaker 5: She said.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Well, there's a history of this, because if you remember
- 29:49Speaker 1: when RFK was running against Biden, the Republicans supported RFK.
- 29:54Speaker 5: I'm like, but they have two different names. One is
- 29:56Speaker 5: Joe Biden. The other is RFK Jr.
- 29:59Speaker 1: The only person who wouldn't know the difference is.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Biden, you know?
- 30:04Speaker 2: Now, apparently Republicans wanted to do it, but they couldn't
- 30:06Speaker 2: find a guy named Mohammed Abdul El-Sayed. It's not easy
- 30:09Speaker 2: to do.
- 30:12Speaker 5: That's too funny.
- 30:13Speaker 1: You know, wouldn't it be easier at this point if
- 30:16Speaker 1: the media just did tell us, like, which terror groups
- 30:19Speaker 1: he doesn't have ties to? It's like he collected them
- 30:23Speaker 1: like Pokemon cards, man.
- 30:24Speaker 5: You got to catch them all. This is crazy.
- 30:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Hey, in New York, Bruce Blakeman looks very, in the
- 30:31Speaker 2: real polls, not the fake ones, the real polls, it
- 30:33Speaker 2: looks deadlocked. You think he can actually win?
- 30:37Speaker 5: Yes, he's on my show this weekend. He's going to
- 30:39Speaker 5: be on Saturday night.
- 30:41Speaker 1: And, you know, let's hope, you know, people actually tune
- 30:45Speaker 1: in with an open mind, because.
- 30:46Speaker 5: If you listen to him talk.
- 30:48Speaker 1: You go like, oh, this guy could actually lead the state.
- 30:50Speaker 1: If you listen to Kathy Hochul, you realize she's only
- 30:54Speaker 1: governor because she was the one chick in Albany that
- 30:56Speaker 1: was too annoying for Cuomo to hit on. She doesn't
- 30:59Speaker 1: know what she's doing, and she's like following Mom Donnie now.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Now she wants to– every tax, every dumb spending initiative
- 31:05Speaker 1: because she wants to be on the right side of
- 31:07Speaker 1: Mom Donnie, which of course for the state is the
- 31:09Speaker 1: worst thing that could possibly happen. So– Let's hope the
- 31:12Speaker 1: Jimmy fail-a-bounce gets old Brucie Blakeman over the finish line.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so watch him on Saturday night. It's a great
- 31:18Speaker 2: show every Saturday night at 10 o'clock. And can people
- 31:21Speaker 2: be in the audience? Can they get tickets? Are there
- 31:23Speaker 2: still some for.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Yep.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Tickets are always free. If you want to come to
- 31:25Speaker 1: a taping, we tape Friday night, and the tickets are
- 31:27Speaker 1: free at foxacrossamerica.com. Come down this weekend. You'll see the governor.
- 31:33Speaker 1: You're going to see a lot of Fox people because
- 31:35Speaker 1: it's the midterm, so they send the adults out. I
- 31:37Speaker 1: can't have my comedy buddies on the Make Balloon Animals
- 31:40Speaker 1: this weekend. There's going to be a lot of adults,
- 31:42Speaker 1: but it's going to be a good show. We're fired
- 31:43Speaker 1: up for it.
- 31:43Speaker 5: We can't wait.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a great free date if you want to
- 31:46Speaker 2: bring somebody Friday evenings, but the tickets are free. Go
- 31:49Speaker 2: to Foxacrossamerica.com. And then the radio show is every weeknight,
- 31:54Speaker 2: 9 to midnight. But it's really funny. But how do
- 31:57Speaker 2: you keep that up for three hours? Non-stop jokes for
- 32:00Speaker 2: three hours.
- 32:02Speaker 5: You know what, man? I'm just in it. And you've
- 32:04Speaker 5: got to remember this. I'm used to keeping it up
- 32:06Speaker 5: for 12 hours. I was a taxi driver.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And as a taxi driver, you've got to be entertaining
- 32:11Speaker 1: for 12 hours or somebody's going to hit you in
- 32:12Speaker 1: the head with a thermos, choke you out on the
- 32:15Speaker 1: West Side Highway.
- 32:16Speaker 5: So for me, I'm working like a thorough quarter of
- 32:19Speaker 5: a shift right now. This doesn't bother me at all.
- 32:21Speaker 2: When you were in a taxi drive, weren't people a
- 32:23Speaker 2: little shocked? They get in the cab and they find
- 32:24Speaker 2: out you speak English and you've got a real personality?
- 32:26Speaker 2: That's unusual.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Can I tell you something? People would literally want you
- 32:32Speaker 1: to call their parents and leave them a voicemail.
- 32:35Speaker 5: You wouldn't believe what I saw in New York City.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I'm not kidding.
- 32:39Speaker 5: You're like your own little tourist attraction. You're right about that.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Hey, the marathon is this Sunday. That is one of
- 32:45Speaker 2: the stupidest sports. I mean, I can see being a
- 32:48Speaker 2: great golfer, learning how to play tennis. But learning how
- 32:52Speaker 2: to run for 25 miles, where would you need this skill?
- 32:55Speaker 2: I mean, it's a strange thing.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Well, you know, the way Mom Donnie's going with the police,
- 33:00Speaker 1: learning how to run might be a good thing. Maybe
- 33:04Speaker 1: not for 25 miles, but if you could make it
- 33:06Speaker 1: across the park in one piece, you'd be an anomaly
- 33:08Speaker 1: these days.
- 33:09Speaker 5: So we'll take that.
- 33:11Speaker 2: If Blakeman wins, he can kind of keep a lid
- 33:14Speaker 2: on some of the Mom Donnie nonsense. Also, it'd be
- 33:17Speaker 2: a great thing in this anti-Semitism world world now to
- 33:21Speaker 2: have a Jewish governor, wouldn't it?
- 33:24Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, it's what we need just because, you know,
- 33:27Speaker 1: what they're getting wrong, and there's really no politician who's
- 33:30Speaker 1: doing a perfect job of explaining this, is everybody on
- 33:34Speaker 1: the Mamdani side of this conflict is an idiot. Okay,
- 33:38Speaker 1: like think about right now, the people are yelling free Palestine, okay? Palestine,
- 33:42Speaker 1: well Gaza, is currently run by people who don't hold elections. OK,
- 33:47Speaker 1: so it's not Israel that's keeping them under wraps. It
