- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Say Hester and Hester got it fart.
- 0:07Speaker 3: A pat from carrying each other to a natty to
- 0:10Speaker 3: carrying each other on the.
- 0:11Speaker 4: Air where there's brought control.
- 0:16Speaker 5: Live from the Raising Kine Studio.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's off the bench, so.
- 0:57Speaker 6: I can't say that.
- 1:01Speaker 7: All right, Welcome back in oh t b Our number
- 1:04Speaker 7: two live from the Raising Canes Studio. All right, let's
- 1:11Speaker 7: get into it a launde just about Sean.
- 1:17Speaker 6: I'll tell you why y'all are like really hyping me up.
- 1:22Speaker 7: I kind of want Unhingelandra, but I also wanted to
- 1:24Speaker 7: be careful because we really love having a lot there.
- 1:27Speaker 7: So okay, So you know, because we're the last show,
- 1:31Speaker 7: I think it. I think I think it brokerag right,
- 1:35Speaker 7: Ring Hunt show, if I'm not mistaken. So you know,
- 1:37Speaker 7: oftentimes happens to us where we're the last show that
- 1:40Speaker 7: gets to react to anything being in the morning show.
- 1:42Speaker 7: But three media outlets are now suing LSU Athletics in
- 1:45Speaker 7: a case centered around access to public records.
- 1:49Speaker 3: UH.
- 1:49Speaker 7: The outlets, including local Louisiana media organizations, say LSU has
- 1:53Speaker 7: not fully complied with public records requests related to the
- 1:57Speaker 7: athletic Department. Under Louisiana's public records law, documents produced by
- 2:02Speaker 7: a public university are generally considered public unless they fall
- 2:06Speaker 7: under a specific exemption. So according to the lawsuit, the
- 2:10Speaker 7: media organizations argue LSU either failed to provide requested records
- 2:14Speaker 7: or took too long responding to requests tied to athletics
- 2:18Speaker 7: in their operations. They are asking the court to order
- 2:22Speaker 7: LSU to release their records and potentially cover legal costs.
- 2:27Speaker 7: So from Lshue side, universities often argue that certain documents
- 2:31Speaker 7: can be withheld if they involve things like personal matters,
- 2:34Speaker 7: private information, or.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Ongoing internal reviews.
- 2:38Speaker 7: Schools also sometimes claim certain communications fall under legal privilege.
- 2:44Speaker 7: This is something we've seen pop up around college athletics.
- 2:47Speaker 7: Nationaliants departments handle nil contracts and internal investigations. As more
- 2:52Speaker 7: money and attention flow through athletic departments, media outlets are
- 2:55Speaker 7: increasingly using public record laws to try to understand how
- 3:00Speaker 7: these programs operate. So the case will ultimately come down
- 3:03Speaker 7: to a judge deciding whether the requested documents fall under
- 3:07Speaker 7: Louisiana's public records requirements and whether LSU properly followed the
- 3:12Speaker 7: law when responding, all right, So Taylor Elandra, as soon
- 3:18Speaker 7: as we brought this up and we're going to talk
- 3:21Speaker 7: about it, I know both of y'all have an opinion
- 3:24Speaker 7: on it, and me and Matter are diving into it
- 3:27Speaker 7: as well with y'all, So kind of from y'all's perspective,
- 3:30Speaker 7: when y'all saw this come across the wire around noon,
- 3:33Speaker 7: maybe some initial thoughts.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I think my initial thoughts were, what is like the
- 3:38Speaker 3: actual motive behind you doing this? Like I know that
- 3:41Speaker 3: you don't actually care if taxpayer like bottom line is,
- 3:46Speaker 3: if there are taxpayer dollars that are going to LSU Athletics,
- 3:50Speaker 3: it is very minimal. Like LSU we talked about this
- 3:54Speaker 3: during when Jeff Landry started being like, I'm worried about taxpayers.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out make sure we're not paying
- 4:00Speaker 3: for buyouts like blah blah blah. Like we all know,
- 4:04Speaker 3: LSU is generally self funded through TV money, through donors,
- 4:09Speaker 3: through like everything. Right, So it's just very much feels
- 4:14Speaker 3: like she had like Piper, Chris Nakamoto, and Todd Horn
- 4:19Speaker 3: all have an agenda that they're trying to do. To me,
- 4:23Speaker 3: that's how it feels because their lawyers said it themselves,
- 4:27Speaker 3: like why are you going after LSU because they're the
- 4:29Speaker 3: biggest show in town. People in Louisiana love LSU. I
- 4:33Speaker 3: was talking to Matt this morning, like, Matt and I
- 4:35Speaker 3: wouldn't be here if it weren't for LSU. There's no
- 4:37Speaker 3: reason for me to move to bat Aruge Louisiana other
- 4:40Speaker 3: than Louisiana State University and the athletic program that they
- 4:44Speaker 3: have their football, baseball.
- 4:46Speaker 6: People care about that.
- 4:47Speaker 3: So now you're over here suing LSU for public records
- 4:52Speaker 3: to try to find out if taxpayer money is paying
- 4:55Speaker 3: student athletes.
- 4:56Speaker 6: To be honest, I don't care.
- 4:57Speaker 3: If my tax dollars are paying student athletes because it's
- 5:00Speaker 3: really not doing anything else for the state. Like my
- 5:03Speaker 3: tax dollars don't seem to be going anywhere else.
- 5:05Speaker 6: So if it's gonna go to the.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Athletic department, sure, something that actually benefits Louisiana, I'm with it,
- 5:11Speaker 3: Like actually brings in money to the state.
- 5:14Speaker 7: Okay, sure, yeah, with the economic impact of.
- 5:19Speaker 1: This town runs on.
- 5:21Speaker 8: L s U.
- 5:21Speaker 3: A yes, So why are you trying to attack the
- 5:24Speaker 3: one thing that people love in this like not just
- 5:27Speaker 3: the city, but like the state of Louisiana l s
- 5:30Speaker 3: U is like the one there. It's the flagship university.
- 5:34Speaker 3: So now you're gonna sue it because they're the biggest
- 5:36Speaker 3: show in town. And the name of like transparency is
- 5:39Speaker 3: what you're trying to say.
- 5:40Speaker 8: That tells me.
- 5:41Speaker 7: That you don't care that it's happening, just care that
- 5:44Speaker 7: l She's doing it. You don't care if Louisiana TACs
- 5:46Speaker 7: doing it anybody else.
- 5:50Speaker 3: And she says that she hopes that this like if
- 5:53Speaker 3: that the lawsuit encourages all the other schools to do it.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But like if you don't sue the other schools, I
- 5:58Speaker 3: doubt that any other school is gonna like just voluntarily
- 6:01Speaker 3: offer up how much they're paying student athletes, because why
- 6:04Speaker 3: would you Why would you tell other schools how much
- 6:07Speaker 3: your pain student athletes? Why would you tell other schools
- 6:10Speaker 3: how much money you're spending on recruitment? Right, Like it
- 6:13Speaker 3: just makes zero sense to me, And like if you
- 6:17Speaker 3: it just it doesn't make it. It makes it makes
- 6:19Speaker 3: me so mad, like when it's framed through a political lens,
- 6:22Speaker 3: like it's just so hard for me to take you seriously.
- 6:25Speaker 3: And I highly doubt that any taxpayer money is actually
- 6:29Speaker 3: going toward pain student athletes and guess what, student athletes
- 6:33Speaker 3: are not employees of the school, so it doesn't matter
- 6:36Speaker 3: to us, Like, why do I care how much they're making?
- 6:38Speaker 3: And like somebody brought up a great point, what about TOPS,
- 6:42Speaker 3: Like TOPS is taxpayer funded and students get that money,
- 6:45Speaker 3: So let me find out how much regular students are
- 6:47Speaker 3: making off of my taxpayer money with TOPS.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it just makes no sense to me. You're gonna
- 6:52Speaker 1: dive in.
- 6:53Speaker 7: Why only keep it at athletic right, keep it into
- 6:55Speaker 7: every student.
- 6:56Speaker 9: Yes, anyone that went to journalist school knows that the
- 7:01Speaker 9: people that go to journalism school by and large have
- 7:04Speaker 9: this holier than thell mentality of I have to be
- 7:08Speaker 9: the one to inform the public wins, so self fund
- 7:11Speaker 9: most of the time, the public doesn't really care. Like
- 7:13Speaker 9: my question has always been like what are you actually asking?
- 7:17Speaker 9: Remember last year and look, I wanted to be fully fair.
- 7:21Speaker 9: I got this straight from Louisiana illuminator Piper Hutchinson wrote
- 7:24Speaker 9: this article and really kind of contradicted herself. Here the
- 7:28Speaker 9: landmark settlement memember last June where you were allowed to
- 7:31Speaker 9: pay athletes. We all know it's twenty and a half
- 7:34Speaker 9: million dollars. I could have the numbers wrong a little bit,
- 7:37Speaker 9: but I believe it's fifteen percent of that money to football.
- 7:39Speaker 7: You kind of decide what it is, right, Yeah, but it's.
- 7:43Speaker 9: Kind of like fifteen percent football, five percent men's basketball,
- 7:46Speaker 9: five percent women's whatever is left is distributed around the rest.
- 7:49Speaker 9: I's like we already know that. And in her article,
- 7:52Speaker 9: she says LSU system one point two billion dollar budget
- 7:57Speaker 9: for last fiscal year, more than eight hundred of it
- 8:00Speaker 9: comes from self generated revenue. Sure, there is a little
- 8:03Speaker 9: bit of outside funding, but like to a largest point,
- 8:06Speaker 9: like people aren't going to care where the tax dollars goes.
- 8:08Speaker 9: And like I asked him, Matt earlier before the show started,
- 8:11Speaker 9: like if Louisiana all of a sudden came out and said, hey,
- 8:15Speaker 9: we are tripling your tax dollars, You're going to have
- 8:18Speaker 9: to pay way more than.
- 8:19Speaker 10: Normal to pay this, maybe I would have an issue.
- 8:22Speaker 9: But as of right now, all I know is ipay
- 8:24Speaker 9: X amount of taxes, and I have no idea where
- 8:27Speaker 9: it goes. And honestly, whether it goes to LSU or elsewhere,
- 8:29Speaker 9: I don't really care where it goes. All I know
- 8:32Speaker 9: is that I have to pay this amount, and in
- 8:34Speaker 9: the article she said because LSU came out and said,
- 8:37Speaker 9: you know, it's a it's a competitive disadvantage if this
- 8:40Speaker 9: gets out and everything she writes in this article, you know,
- 8:44Speaker 9: in the past LSU has provided how much it pays
- 8:46Speaker 9: to its vendors and employees, including President Wade Rouse and
- 8:50Speaker 9: head football coach Lane Kiffin, without claiming it's a detrimental
- 8:53Speaker 9: to the university.
- 8:54Speaker 10: The argument we have had.
- 8:56Speaker 9: All year long off season, after all seasons and I
- 9:00Speaker 9: al started, which they're not going after an IL. It's
- 9:02Speaker 9: only the it's only the rest share in person il's
- 9:05Speaker 9: privately funded. Anyways, the argument we have had is you
- 9:09Speaker 9: cannot consider these athletes employees. So if they're not employees,
- 9:13Speaker 9: they're they're not releasing what they make like a Lane
- 9:15Speaker 9: Kiffin who's an employee, Like a Wade Rouse who's an
- 9:17Speaker 9: employee like that would be like, Hey, that student that
- 9:21Speaker 9: works part time at the Smoothie King or whatever it
- 9:24Speaker 9: is in the student union, I want to know how
- 9:26Speaker 9: much they make per hour. You're not privy to that information.
- 9:29Speaker 9: You have no right to that information. So I guess
- 9:33Speaker 9: my question would be, if we know how much money
- 9:36Speaker 9: is alligated to the athletes. We have no idea how
- 9:39Speaker 9: much goes to the students, and you don't really have
- 9:41Speaker 9: a right to know how much goes to the students.
- 9:44Speaker 8: Why do you care?
- 9:46Speaker 6: Yeah, Lily, if the point.
- 9:47Speaker 9: Of this is to ruffle feathers and gain exposure, well
- 9:51Speaker 9: then profit you've a.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Comg that's exactly what my biggest show in town.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I hate to be by him. I hate to be
- 10:00Speaker 1: he told on himself.
- 10:02Speaker 10: I hate to be this guy.
- 10:04Speaker 9: But we have heard of Piper Hutchinson twice, once when
- 10:08Speaker 9: she came out and tried to attack LSU when they
- 10:10Speaker 9: were in the process of hiring Verds. Remember they brought
- 10:14Speaker 9: in Wade Ralphs. It was the whole Scott Woodward Ouster. Yeah,
- 10:17Speaker 9: you came after LSU for that. She's coming after LSU
- 10:19Speaker 9: for this after I promise the average person in the
- 10:24Speaker 9: state of Louisiana did not know who Piper Hutchinson is.
- 10:28Speaker 9: You're just using LSU for cloud at this point. It
- 10:30Speaker 9: just I think a lot of people just kind of
- 10:31Speaker 9: see through this.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Transparency is fine, but not like the way that you're
- 10:36Speaker 3: going about this is like definitely shady. You definitely have
- 10:40Speaker 3: an agenda, You have a motive behind it.
- 10:42Speaker 6: You don't really care about the transparency or not.
- 10:45Speaker 7: I'm real honest. And Elanga and Taylor you both kind
- 10:48Speaker 7: of talked about it LSU Athletics and what it brings
- 10:52Speaker 7: to the area. And if if there is some tax dollars,
- 10:55Speaker 7: like because of how bad you've been in other things,
- 10:58Speaker 7: I wouldn't care because that brings good, That brings dollars,
- 11:03Speaker 7: that brings people staying here. We can go to health outcomes, right,
- 11:08Speaker 7: high rates of heart disease and high smoking rates in
- 11:11Speaker 7: Louisiana and no preventable care that they do to try
- 11:15Speaker 7: to fix those things. Education performance where Louisiana is at,
- 11:20Speaker 7: it's dead lasting almost everything. The poverty in our state,
- 11:23Speaker 7: the infrastructure maintenance in our state that is so piss poor,
- 11:27Speaker 7: it is so bad nothing ever gets fixed. If it
- 11:30Speaker 7: does get fixed, it takes seven times to do it,
- 11:32Speaker 7: and it takes seven years to get it done right.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I mean like on one ninety my entire college career,
- 11:38Speaker 1: there was construction on it. It ain't that long of
- 11:40Speaker 1: a road.
- 11:41Speaker 8: Like.
- 11:41Speaker 7: Things like that continue to happen, and I'm like, okay, well,
- 11:44Speaker 7: if you're going to attack that, we don't use our
- 11:46Speaker 7: tax dollars for anything that's good.
- 11:48Speaker 1: To Taylor's point, we don't know where the hell it goes.
- 11:50Speaker 10: You don't know where any of your taxes.
- 11:52Speaker 9: And somebody in the chats like Taylor, you should care
- 11:54Speaker 9: where your tax dollars go.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It ain't to fix something, it ain't to make anything
- 11:59Speaker 1: better here.
- 12:00Speaker 8: To pay this money.
- 12:01Speaker 9: Very If my money goes up and less comes into
- 12:05Speaker 9: my pocket, then I care. But as long as everything
- 12:08Speaker 9: stays the same across the board, I don't want to
- 12:11Speaker 9: say I don't care, but I don't really have any
- 12:13Speaker 9: control over it.
- 12:14Speaker 6: Yeah, like, what are we supposed to do?
- 12:16Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 12:17Speaker 11: Oh, so we we all live in Louisiana and love
- 12:20Speaker 11: Louisiana because of what the people, the culture. It's not
- 12:24Speaker 11: necessarily because we have the greatest roads or the buildings
- 12:27Speaker 11: and the state budget is perfectly perfect. No, it's because
- 12:32Speaker 11: of the culture and what Louisiana means to everybody. It
- 12:35Speaker 11: means something inside of you, and part of that for
- 12:38Speaker 11: most people, at least not all people, is has to
- 12:42Speaker 11: do with some sort of athletics. Like yeah, it's the
- 12:45Speaker 11: ultimate glue. It brings people together always, so like I
- 12:49Speaker 11: even hate talking about this to give these people the
- 12:51Speaker 11: time of day.
- 12:51Speaker 6: Yeah, right, because I'm with you on that.
- 12:53Speaker 11: We all know like the type of person or persons
- 12:56Speaker 11: that would do something like this and what the motive
- 12:59Speaker 11: is it. Like, we all want transparency and everything. We
- 13:02Speaker 11: would love to know where our tax dollars go. But like,
- 13:06Speaker 11: if you're attacking something for a very one sided political reason,
- 13:11Speaker 11: whether it's the gang clout, whatever it is, all the
- 13:14Speaker 11: people doing it stand to gain something by getting their
- 13:17Speaker 11: name out there, whether it's good or bad. Right, Yes,
- 13:20Speaker 11: we could all stand up for the transparency blah blah blah.
- 13:23Speaker 11: But if for whatever reason you want to do some
- 13:25Speaker 11: smoking try to find some smoking gun. Gotcha, journalism, gotcha, legislation,
- 13:30Speaker 11: whatever it is, And that's what it is. To maybe
- 13:33Speaker 11: find something. Because we know that LICA Athletic is mostly
- 13:35Speaker 11: just self funded. If there is some sort of accounting,
- 13:38Speaker 11: whatever it is, the economical benefit of LSU, we should
- 13:42Speaker 11: spend more tax dollars on it, right, the economical benefits. Yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 11: the economic benefit that it brings to your attention.
- 13:49Speaker 7: In our state is worse than any state in the
- 13:52Speaker 7: country right now, dead last people are.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Leaving, and they're leaving quickly.
- 13:56Speaker 7: They can get higher salarisults where there's a more diverse
- 14:00Speaker 7: job market in other places, you had a better chance
- 14:02Speaker 7: to get uh, you know, different jobs that a lot
- 14:05Speaker 7: of different people can do, not just one or two industries. Okay, Uh,
- 14:09Speaker 7: there's better quality of life in other states. We are
- 14:12Speaker 7: dead ass last and keeping people in our state. So
- 14:17Speaker 7: one of the things that actually keeps people here is
- 14:20Speaker 7: that Hel's you athletics, right, and so to continue to
- 14:25Speaker 7: try to attack that, to make the name for yourself,
- 14:28Speaker 7: like go fly kight.
- 14:29Speaker 1: With it, because we're not here for it.
- 14:31Speaker 7: Beat it, nerds, and that's all you're probably gonna get here, Okay,
- 14:37Speaker 7: mm hmm, because that's what you want. That's what you
- 14:41Speaker 7: on all these shows, what you've done.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, bringing your name up.
- 14:47Speaker 3: No, Like I definitely, like I write like, it's not
- 14:50Speaker 3: like I want to give her attention, but it's like
- 14:52Speaker 3: you have to talk about it, and also like, yeah,
- 14:55Speaker 3: you have to bring it up.
- 14:56Speaker 6: And also like I the the the thing is so stupid.
- 15:01Speaker 3: That like people have to know that not everybody thinks
- 15:03Speaker 3: that this is a good idea and not like I
- 15:06Speaker 3: think both opinions need to be talked about, you know,
- 15:10Speaker 3: like we think it's dumb, period, and it's very much
- 15:14Speaker 3: a page out of Bob Man's book, where anytime people
- 15:17Speaker 3: get something good in athletics, like money gets raised in athletics,
- 15:21Speaker 3: or they get a new locker room or whatever.
- 15:23Speaker 6: He's like, but what about the library.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Why don't you ask like actually the like actual government
- 15:29Speaker 3: to help with the library. Why would LSU athletics, LSU
- 15:33Speaker 3: football makes all this money off of TV like donors,
- 15:36Speaker 3: private donors, whatever to be able to have that in
- 15:39Speaker 3: their facilities. Why would they take their money and give
- 15:42Speaker 3: it to the library. Like she's just taking a page
- 15:44Speaker 3: out of his book.
- 15:45Speaker 9: Yeah, And like again I just I kind of feel
- 15:47Speaker 9: like this is all simple to figure out. I'm still
- 15:50Speaker 9: trying to figure out like what they're trying to pull
- 15:52Speaker 9: back the curtain on because again, we know it's twenty
- 15:55Speaker 9: and a half a million dollars And you could say, yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 9: but that's LSU. How much of the tax money's going there?
- 16:00Speaker 9: See how much tax money was sent to Louisiana State University,
- 16:04Speaker 9: And you have a you have a general idea. Again,
- 16:07Speaker 9: you're not gonna find out what each individual player makes.
- 16:09Speaker 9: But I don't really see how this is an issue
- 16:11Speaker 9: that they're trying to figure out.
- 16:13Speaker 3: It's a again, it's a got she's looking for they
- 16:16Speaker 3: I keep saying, singing her out. It's three of them,
- 16:19Speaker 3: like they keep looking for a gotcha moment that they're
- 16:22Speaker 3: probably not gonna get.
- 16:23Speaker 6: I can't.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Like, I just don't really feel like a lot of
- 16:26Speaker 3: tax dollars are going to pay student athletes, Like I
- 16:30Speaker 3: just don't think that that's the thing.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Last thing? Are other states? Have other states done this?
- 16:36Speaker 7: I guess look at us, they're they're out here trying
- 16:43Speaker 7: to talk to talk to their manager.
- 16:45Speaker 11: A bunch of Karen's out here, Can I can? I
- 16:50Speaker 11: h I don't want to talk about her in that
- 16:52Speaker 11: group anymore. Just shine a light, I bet, I just
- 16:55Speaker 11: want to. Can I end this segment on just a
- 16:56Speaker 11: little bit more lighthearted? Government taught?
- 16:59Speaker 7: Sure?
- 16:59Speaker 11: Okay, there was a report, So if you we're done
- 17:02Speaker 11: with the LSU thing, we're done talk about this, Okay.
- 17:05Speaker 11: This is a good transition to something I've read yesterday.
- 17:08Speaker 11: I've never left Huh. I just want to make sure
- 17:11Speaker 11: we're done with that, okay.
- 17:13Speaker 8: Uh.
- 17:15Speaker 11: Government spending a little bit of government waste. There's always
- 17:17Speaker 11: government waste, right The Pentagon reportedly and this past September
- 17:21Speaker 11: spent twenty two million dollars on steak and lobster at
- 17:25Speaker 11: the Pentagon itself. So the September for most of the
- 17:28Speaker 11: government in the military is like the end of their
- 17:30Speaker 11: fiscal years, so they have to have the end of
- 17:32Speaker 11: year funds like a use it or lose it type situation,
- 17:35Speaker 11: which most state funds do. All different colors of money,
- 17:39Speaker 11: like you got to spend it or you don't get
- 17:40Speaker 11: that same so like you find ways to spend it.
- 17:43Speaker 11: You want to talk about some government waste here, they
- 17:45Speaker 11: spent fifteen point one million.
- 17:47Speaker 8: Dollars in Ribbi steaks.
- 17:48Speaker 11: Hell yeah, six point nine million dollars in lobster tails,
- 17:52Speaker 11: two million dollars in Alaskan King crabs, one million in salmon,
- 17:56Speaker 11: one hundred and thirty nine thousand dollars on donuts a
- 17:59Speaker 11: lot of donuts.
- 18:00Speaker 9: One million in salmon. Salmon ain't that expensive? One million
- 18:03Speaker 9: in salmon is insane, I mean. And one hundred and
- 18:06Speaker 9: twenty four thousand dollars in just ice cream machines. That's
- 18:10Speaker 9: in the one month of September because they needed to
- 18:12Speaker 9: use it or were they to use it.
- 18:15Speaker 3: But let's find out if they're paying student athletes, this
- 18:18Speaker 3: cannot happen.
- 18:19Speaker 11: But Louisiana's annules state budget of almost fifty four billion
- 18:23Speaker 11: to see if they do someone at twenty.
- 18:26Speaker 9: I got to tell you that movie on the donuts
- 18:28Speaker 9: as well. Spent donuts are great.
- 18:30Speaker 7: I'm a ice cream machine, and actually I like, do
- 18:33Speaker 7: you spell donuts?
- 18:33Speaker 8: Do o n U t s or do O U
- 18:35Speaker 8: g h in uts do.
- 18:37Speaker 1: O n uts?
- 18:38Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I'm trying to do trying to church out.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not Joe Diarte, It's Joe dirt.
- 18:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 1: All right, I'm excited to take a break.
- 18:51Speaker 7: I'm excited to talk baseball, LSU baseball and student athletes
- 18:56Speaker 7: of LSU baseball when we come.

- 19:02Speaker 1: Go to go Tommy's.

- 19:33Speaker 7: section is gonna have its own tab right depending on

- 19:38Speaker 7: and if you need even something different like gutters, they
- 19:40Speaker 7: do that as well.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Go to go Tommy's dot com.
- 19:42Speaker 11: Go Tommy's the best windows doors signings around. So if
- 19:46Speaker 11: you got a project happening, make sure you give them
- 19:48Speaker 11: a call. We know you might get a couple prices,
- 19:50Speaker 11: you might call different companies to do the work, but
- 19:51Speaker 11: make sure you give Tommy a call and see why
- 19:53Speaker 11: they went award after award afterward because they are the
- 19:57Speaker 11: best at, best service, the best product, lifetime warranty.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Go. It's not gonna shock.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah ye things pleister, you can do it all. Also,
- 20:22Speaker 4: oh a girl question, name them something you live by?
- 20:27Speaker 4: You be train O think pain.
- 20:30Speaker 8: You know me, I'd be excusing them.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Locked in on L s U Football twenty four to seven.
- 20:37Speaker 5: You're listening to off the bench.
- 20:39Speaker 4: You won't win me back to the cree. So I lead,
- 20:44Speaker 4: let's get junk, get what we did some Bye you train.
- 20:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna take you.
- 20:53Speaker 12: Will in the back, I mean the great care in
- 20:58Speaker 12: the pine.
- 21:05Speaker 7: All right, welcome back in O T D Live from
- 21:10Speaker 7: the Raising Kain Studio. I want to all that money
- 21:21Speaker 7: we gave California.
- 21:22Speaker 6: Went a lot, a lot of can narcan vending machines.
- 21:31Speaker 8: Yeah, program, yeah, I've missed that.
- 21:37Speaker 6: That's how much people are like that. They literally give.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Out Hollywood like you'll walk up and there'll be one
- 21:43Speaker 1: boom right there.
- 21:44Speaker 8: Sweet.
- 21:45Speaker 10: Yeah, you truly do learn something new every day. I
- 21:51Speaker 10: didn't know this is the thing.
- 21:52Speaker 6: They have a livingstone.
- 21:54Speaker 8: They probably do.
- 21:56Speaker 10: No, we can't afford vending machines. We're talking about my gosh.
- 22:01Speaker 7: Anyways, before we get to little LSU baseball taking on Vendorbilt.
- 22:06Speaker 7: It it reminds you Pelican Roofing does a lot more
- 22:09Speaker 7: than just take care of roofs here in Louisiana. They
- 22:11Speaker 7: take care of the community too. So right now they've
- 22:13Speaker 7: got something really cool going on, and it's called Run
- 22:16Speaker 7: for Rufous. It's a fundraiser where their mascot Rufus is
- 22:20Speaker 7: running a five k every day for thirty days to
- 22:22Speaker 7: help raise money for someone in our community going through
- 22:25Speaker 7: a really tough time. So all the donations go directly
- 22:29Speaker 7: to help that family with medical bills and recovery costs
- 22:32Speaker 7: so they can focus on getting better and not have
- 22:35Speaker 7: the stress of how they're going to pay for it.
- 22:37Speaker 7: If you want to help out or you want to
- 22:39Speaker 7: learn more information the story behind it and who that
- 22:42Speaker 7: is going to this year, run for rufus dot com.
- 22:45Speaker 7: Are you in f O R r O O f
- 22:48Speaker 7: us dot com? Run for rufous dot com Pelican roofing
- 22:51Speaker 7: Quality through the Roof. All Right, LSU Baseball head to Nashville.
- 22:58Speaker 7: Already in field. We caught up with Jay Johnson yesterday
- 23:03Speaker 7: and always enjoy our conversations with Jay, but certainly enjoyed
- 23:08Speaker 7: it yesterday because he's very transparent. He doesn't try to
- 23:10Speaker 7: hide from anything. Like he talked about some of the
- 23:13Speaker 7: challenges that they've already faced this year. But as we
- 23:16Speaker 7: all know, we've been LSU baseball fans and covered them
- 23:20Speaker 7: long enough to know that now is when it matters
- 23:23Speaker 7: the most, this ten week grind of going through SEC.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Play, and you do have a pretty good opportunity.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Now.
- 23:30Speaker 7: I would not have said that before the year because
- 23:32Speaker 7: it was Vanderbilt vandabout's eleven and seven right now.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Vanderbilt is struggling. They've had multiple losing streaks in this season.
- 23:41Speaker 7: If you can go on the road and you can
- 23:44Speaker 7: win the series and I don't care what it looks like,
- 23:47Speaker 7: just win the series. We are talking about a different
- 23:50Speaker 7: feeling when you get back to Baton Rouge than what
- 23:52Speaker 7: we currently feel right now. You dropped a series to
- 23:55Speaker 7: Sacramento State, you lost to me Nie, you lost to Ull,
- 23:59Speaker 7: you lost to nor Eastern. We know all of that
- 24:01Speaker 7: all right now. You look like you were about to
- 24:04Speaker 7: lose to Creighton as well, but we saw something different.
- 24:06Speaker 7: We saw a young player get up to the plate
- 24:08Speaker 7: and hit a grand Slam, and we saw some juices
- 24:11Speaker 7: and we saw Jake Brown get up and he hit
- 24:12Speaker 7: another home run. Okay, so that's part of it. You like,
- 24:17Speaker 7: as you had to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt. But
- 24:20Speaker 7: if you come back home and you win two of
- 24:22Speaker 7: three games and then look, Oklahoma's record right now is good,
- 24:26Speaker 7: but you'll be back in the box with some momentum
- 24:29Speaker 7: against Oklahoma, a winnable series, and the math kind of changes.
- 24:34Speaker 7: For what we're talking about here, That feeling that we
- 24:36Speaker 7: had on Monday night. Before you get a Tuesday win,
- 24:40Speaker 7: all right, some of that starts to go away a
- 24:42Speaker 7: little bit. It's gonna take guys stepping up and young
- 24:45Speaker 7: guys on this team have stepped up, be it on
- 24:48Speaker 7: the field or off the field, like we talked about
- 24:50Speaker 7: with Jay Johnson yesterday. So I'm excited for it. I
- 24:53Speaker 7: want to see the Tigers go out there and compete.
- 24:57Speaker 7: If it's not going to be the guys that we
- 24:58Speaker 7: you know, count it on. He's the air quotes there,
- 25:01Speaker 7: because look, plans change in baseball.
- 25:05Speaker 1: It's a sport of failure.
- 25:06Speaker 7: You've got to deal with it and then you got
- 25:08Speaker 7: to come back and you got to go through adversity
- 25:10Speaker 7: and you have to thrive on the other side. So
- 25:12Speaker 7: Santiago Garcia, we didn't have him on the Bengo car
- 25:15Speaker 7: the other night. He came in and he dealed all right,
- 25:18Speaker 7: he's ready to step up. Who else is ready to follow?
- 25:21Speaker 7: That's gonna be what I'm watching this weekend. Who's ready
- 25:25Speaker 7: to step up and say no more of that because
- 25:28Speaker 7: it can't just be Jake Brown all year long.
- 25:31Speaker 1: He's gonna need some help.
- 25:32Speaker 7: He's playing is you know what off right now, but
- 25:35Speaker 7: he's gonna need some other guys to step up around him.
- 25:38Speaker 7: Right What where Garcia was able to do to come
- 25:40Speaker 7: in the other night and Cheron actually had pretty good
- 25:43Speaker 7: outing as well.
- 25:44Speaker 3: No, but like I feel like I expect that from
- 25:46Speaker 3: Cheran though, like I expect Shearon to go out there
- 25:49Speaker 3: and have a good outing. Santiago Garcia was impressive because
- 25:52Speaker 3: we hadn't really seen that from him before, so I
- 25:56Speaker 3: was very like he was the one thing that stood
- 25:59Speaker 3: out to me whenever we won against Creighton the other night,
- 26:02Speaker 3: he came in and shut it down.
- 26:05Speaker 1: And they now he's done that. Yeah, who's some other
- 26:09Speaker 1: guys that can do that?
- 26:10Speaker 7: To your point about you can't just be on the
- 26:12Speaker 7: LSU baseball roster and spectation, right, that can't.
- 26:16Speaker 1: We used to talk about that in football all the time.
- 26:18Speaker 7: Hey, but if you're on scholarship here like and you're
- 26:20Speaker 7: not playing, like, find a way to play, Yeah, find
- 26:23Speaker 7: a way to get on the field. Is it a
- 26:24Speaker 7: core four special teams war daddy, whatever it is, buddy.
- 26:27Speaker 7: We need everybody here. Yeah, and we used to call
- 26:30Speaker 7: guys out. We need you to do more. It's okay
- 26:33Speaker 7: sometimes if you do it in the right way. Yeah,
- 26:35Speaker 7: that's what LSU baseball. They need some guys that weren't
- 26:38Speaker 7: expected to be the guys to give you something.
- 26:41Speaker 9: To your point about sharing opponents are hitting seventy one
- 26:45Speaker 9: against him as in point zero seven to one.
- 26:49Speaker 10: That's incredible.
- 26:50Speaker 9: Now it's seven appearances, just nine innings, but seventeen strikeouts
- 26:55Speaker 9: and those nine innings giving up virtually nothing.
- 26:58Speaker 10: That's another guy out of the pen. And Jay, you
- 27:00Speaker 10: were just talking about Jake Brown.
- 27:02Speaker 9: Look, I know Vandy's eleven and seven, but you were
- 27:04Speaker 9: talking about how somebody outside of Jake Brown needs to
- 27:06Speaker 9: step up.
- 27:07Speaker 10: And he's been pretty good at it.
- 27:08Speaker 9: I mean, they had eight guys in their lineup atting
- 27:10Speaker 9: three hundred are better on the year, Like it's amazing
- 27:13Speaker 9: that they're eleven and seven like they are because their
- 27:15Speaker 9: bat lineup's been really good. I mean forty four home runs,
- 27:18Speaker 9: thirty six doubles, three eighteen as a team, they've been
- 27:21Speaker 9: really good. And then look when you look at the
- 27:24Speaker 9: matchup on the mound, I think he got a big
- 27:26Speaker 9: advantage on Saturday and Sunday. And I think that's what
- 27:30Speaker 9: does it for you, and that's why you've liked the
- 27:31Speaker 9: pitching rotation. Like tonight you're gonna see Connor Fintle for Vanderbilt.
- 27:35Speaker 9: He's really good. I mean three eighty era, thirty strikeouts,
- 27:39Speaker 9: three balls too, and oh record, he's good, but the
- 27:42Speaker 9: guy you're going against Saturday is going to be Wyatt
- 27:44Speaker 9: and na do I mean he has a zero ERA,
- 27:46Speaker 9: but he's only thrown an eleven innings fifteen strikeout, six balls,
- 27:49Speaker 9: so he had had a ton of extended outings. And
- 27:52Speaker 9: then William Schmid is your Sunday guy. You have an
- 27:54Speaker 9: advantage almost every single Sunday like to forty five ERA.
- 27:58Speaker 9: You're going to get to Nate Taylor four nine one
- 27:59Speaker 9: on Eer Schmidt thirty three strikeouts, four balls, Nate Taylor
- 28:04Speaker 9: twenty four strikeouts, twelve balls. So like you, Friday is
- 28:08Speaker 9: going to be a battle because Connor Findl's great, but
- 28:11Speaker 9: Cooper Moore and William Schmidd probably have the advantage on
- 28:13Speaker 9: the mound in this matchup.
- 28:15Speaker 11: I agree with kind of what you're saying, Jake about
- 28:19Speaker 11: somebody needs to step up that we didn't think is
- 28:22Speaker 11: going to but also think somebody needs to step up
- 28:24Speaker 11: that we think would. I think that you got guys
- 28:27Speaker 11: in the lineup that were integral and win in a
- 28:29Speaker 11: national championship last year that have not played like that.
- 28:32Speaker 11: You guys that you brought in to be an immediate
- 28:34Speaker 11: impact that have not played like that we need the
- 28:38Speaker 11: people that we thought would be there and make an
- 28:40Speaker 11: impact to start making an impact. Steven Milam has been
- 28:44Speaker 11: hitting the ball hard, making contact. It just has not fallen.
- 28:48Speaker 11: Like at some point it's going to fall. We need
- 28:50Speaker 11: Steven Myland to become Monster Milam again, right right, Yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 11: he has played well in fifty right now. He has
- 28:56Speaker 11: played really well in the field, played defensive. We have
- 28:58Speaker 11: not played great on defense, Ja John, And I know
- 29:00Speaker 11: sometimes he puts a better bat in there instead of
- 29:03Speaker 11: and maybe kind of loses the glove a little bit. Well,
- 29:07Speaker 11: the better bats aren't being better bats to put the
- 29:09Speaker 11: better glove out there. Yeah, uh, we just kind of need.
- 29:12Speaker 11: Like baseball is such a mental, mental sport, like Jay
- 29:15Speaker 11: talks about that on this show. A lot of like
- 29:17Speaker 11: these part time coach, part time psychologists, like you have
- 29:20Speaker 11: to figure out like these these are these are young
- 29:23Speaker 11: men that are trying to figure out how to you know,
- 29:26Speaker 11: play on a new team. Every team, every single year
- 29:29Speaker 11: is a different team. Of course people graduating, but people
- 29:32Speaker 11: coming in and transferring in. Like it just the college baseball,
- 29:35Speaker 11: college athletics is so much different year to year. They
- 29:39Speaker 11: have to figure out how to get the diversity. They
- 29:41Speaker 11: have to mentally get past a point because it's not
- 29:43Speaker 11: a talent issue baseball.
- 29:45Speaker 8: It's always a mental issue, right.
- 29:47Speaker 11: You get cold momentum, there's momentum swings and sometimes they
- 29:50Speaker 11: can last for days. Games, they could last for weeks.
- 29:54Speaker 11: It will lsu. Baseball will figure it out. Now will
- 29:58Speaker 11: they figure it out before they put them elves too
- 30:01Speaker 11: far back? Like it's just kind of when they figured
- 30:03Speaker 11: out multiple people figured it out at the same time.
- 30:05Speaker 11: It can't just be like you said, Jake Brown, awesome,
- 30:08Speaker 11: Ben what four fifteen throughout the season.
- 30:11Speaker 8: So we just need the guys that we thought, well.
- 30:13Speaker 1: He's hitting four thirteen.
- 30:14Speaker 7: The next closest is Derek Curry out three nine, right,
- 30:19Speaker 7: and then you go from three twenty nine to eighty
- 30:22Speaker 7: with York, So you know who I want to see
- 30:26Speaker 7: like a little bit more.
- 30:27Speaker 6: Of is Yeaman and maybe in like a dhroll.
- 30:30Speaker 7: Well, I know there hasn't been like a lot and
- 30:32Speaker 7: I know there's only a couple of bats, but I'm like,
- 30:34Speaker 7: got on base twice. They're comfortable in the box because
- 30:38Speaker 7: and I say that more of in what I'm talking
- 30:40Speaker 7: about of something, if you're not gonna do it, we
- 30:43Speaker 7: got to tell somebody else. And he's been there for
- 30:45Speaker 7: a couple of years, hasn't gotten a lot of runs
- 30:47Speaker 7: since he transferred from Dayton, but he got on base twice.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Quality of bats. All right, let's see what you got.
- 30:52Speaker 7: And I'm not saying that you roll them out there
- 30:54Speaker 7: all weekend, but guys like that, and that's why you
- 30:57Speaker 7: got it the.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Other night, getting opportunity.
- 31:00Speaker 6: Yeah, you can try it out. You can d H
- 31:01Speaker 6: him and see what happens.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Because you kind of don't really even have last game out.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Yeah, because you really don't even have somebody that I
- 31:09Speaker 3: feel like has solidified themselves to be the DH.
- 31:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Now LSU might have the right now.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Their pitching stats look a little better than LSU's do Vandy's,
- 31:22Speaker 3: But I think that LSU has the pitching advantage over Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt,
- 31:26Speaker 3: like Taylor said, they are very hitting, very well right now.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Brandon Holcombe has ten home runs on the season, thirty
- 31:33Speaker 3: one RBI already. Right under him, Brody Johnston has seven
- 31:36Speaker 3: home runs already. The only person that's like putting those
- 31:40Speaker 3: numbers up is Jake Brown with nine.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, so Jay said they moved their fences into yeah,
- 31:44Speaker 1: a little bit oh yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, So I think that LSU
- 31:50Speaker 3: like you have every opportunity to go to Nashville and
- 31:53Speaker 3: when it's gonna be tough, but you have every opportunity
- 31:55Speaker 3: to go into Nashville and win this series.
- 31:58Speaker 7: You know who I want to see go out there
- 31:59Speaker 7: and be a bulldog its Case and Evans as well. Yeah,
- 32:02Speaker 7: I know the era four sixty six not maybe what
- 32:05Speaker 7: we expected, but still like early any yeah, when you
- 32:07Speaker 7: when you when you dive into it. I mean he's
- 32:09Speaker 7: what nineteen to the third still struck out thirty gapes, right,
- 32:12Speaker 7: I mean those numbers obviously are really good. Now seven
- 32:15Speaker 7: walks you got to cut that down, but you're starting
- 32:19Speaker 7: to kind of see it. I mean, batting average against
- 32:21Speaker 7: is still one to eighty nine. Like you said, he
- 32:23Speaker 7: gets in trouble kind of early, and he settles in
- 32:26Speaker 7: and this is we have to remember, this is like
- 32:27Speaker 7: a new role for him as well, Like he goes
- 32:29Speaker 7: from being the stopper yeah, to being the Friday night
- 32:32Speaker 7: guy and that you know doesn't happen.
- 32:35Speaker 8: Yeah, and he's got.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Better, Yeah, he has definitely.
- 32:38Speaker 3: And I like what Jay said, I don't remember if
- 32:40Speaker 3: it was about Case and or Cowen, but he said
- 32:44Speaker 3: something like because they're both generally like end.
- 32:47Speaker 6: Of the like middle relief or both, or closers or whatever.
- 32:50Speaker 3: He's like, go out there and close this inning, Like
- 32:53Speaker 3: just close this inning, right, So if you're gonna go
- 32:55Speaker 3: out there in the first inning, close the first inning,
- 32:58Speaker 3: close the second, close the third. Like, I know it's
- 33:01Speaker 3: different coming out the pin versus starting, but I think
- 33:04Speaker 3: he's starting to finally get a speed under him and
- 33:06Speaker 3: we'll probably see a better outing from case And than
- 33:08Speaker 3: we have recently.
- 33:09Speaker 6: And I do think it takes him a couple of
- 33:11Speaker 6: innings to just kind of get in his room.
- 33:12Speaker 8: Right.
- 33:13Speaker 11: Closers are adrenaline junkies. Yeah right, They thrive and they
- 33:17Speaker 11: want that. So you gotta kind of calm the nerves
- 33:20Speaker 11: a little bit. You can't have that adrenaline pumping in
- 33:22Speaker 11: that first sentence.
- 33:23Speaker 2: We this.
- 33:24Speaker 9: We tried this with Zach hass a few years back
- 33:26Speaker 9: when Manary was here, Like he was a freshman closer.
- 33:29Speaker 9: He was electric out of the bullpen. He made the
- 33:32Speaker 9: national championship. Now you lost Florida, but you made it
- 33:34Speaker 9: all the way there. The next year, you tried Hassars,
- 33:36Speaker 9: your Friday night guy and it didn't work. You wound
- 33:38Speaker 9: up having to put him back in the bullpen. But
- 33:40Speaker 9: it feels different with Evans. Evans is getting the hang
- 33:42Speaker 9: of it. Is his outings have extended a little bit.
- 33:45Speaker 11: Yeah, closers to me, like for like a football analogy
- 33:48Speaker 11: or like camp' scataboo a little bit.
- 33:51Speaker 8: Yeah, ast the windows all this.
- 33:56Speaker 9: Stuff, and it's like, you don't you don't want the
- 33:59Speaker 9: personality of camp Gott to be playing quarterback for you.
- 34:02Speaker 10: There's roles for everybody, I mean, Jackson Dart Yeah, yeah, level.
- 34:10Speaker 8: This window tastes like red.
- 34:12Speaker 6: Did you say a red crayon?
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:15Speaker 7: I got me down a rabbit hole of looking at
- 34:18Speaker 7: Zach cass in his minor league career. He only made
- 34:21Speaker 7: a double A, never triple A. It was fun though
- 34:27Speaker 7: he's a great tiger. Though he's a great tiger. Yeah
- 34:31Speaker 7: he was will always be a great tiger.
- 34:34Speaker 1: You said it, man, not was you said it?
- 34:36Speaker 8: Man said?
- 34:38Speaker 7: All right, we'll continue talking to that little L s
- 34:40Speaker 7: U SEC baseball. Can I give you an idea of
- 34:42Speaker 7: what's going on around the league as well. But a
- 34:44Speaker 7: great opportunity for L.
- 34:46Speaker 8: S U.
- 34:46Speaker 7: A Vanderbilt team right now that is still trying to
- 34:48Speaker 7: figure out themselves again eleven and seven all in the season.
- 34:51Speaker 7: If LSU can go win a series on the road
- 34:53Speaker 7: in the SEC in baseball, you all know how very
- 34:57Speaker 7: important that is certainly to start your year. More ot
- 35:00Speaker 7: B when we come back here live from the Raising

- 36:08Speaker 9: We've one that thinks of Madagascar when they hear this song. Yes,
- 36:12Speaker 9: I don't think it was in Madagascar. But when King
- 36:14Speaker 9: Julian sings, he sounds like Sean.
- 36:17Speaker 8: Paul always thought that, why are you watching Madagascar?
- 36:25Speaker 4: Uh?
- 36:25Speaker 8: Have you seen it?
- 36:26Speaker 11: Jane?
- 36:27Speaker 10: It's good, I've seen one and two.
- 36:31Speaker 8: Okay, he does yes, because it's you know, because you
- 36:35Speaker 8: have kids. You don't have children, and.
- 36:36Speaker 10: King Julian is the lemur. When he sings, he sounds
- 36:40Speaker 10: like I think he sounds like Show and Paul.
- 36:41Speaker 7: Okay, all right, Well, just know you're gonna have to
- 36:46Speaker 7: rewatch everything that you're watching right now, and more than once, yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 7: multiple times. Yeah, there's gonna be a movie that you
- 36:52Speaker 7: get for a month and it's gonna be the month movie.
- 36:55Speaker 8: It's cool. You know. Then you won't go back to
- 36:58Speaker 8: it for a couple of years, but you'll find your
- 37:00Speaker 8: way back eventually.
- 37:04Speaker 1: It's gonna happen.
- 37:05Speaker 7: I want to remind you that March is Colon Cancer
- 37:07Speaker 7: Awareness Month, and it's a good reminder that colon cancer
- 37:11Speaker 7: is one of the most common cancers. But It's also
- 37:13Speaker 7: one of the most preventable win called early, so screening
- 37:16Speaker 7: can actually find small gross before they ever turn into cancer,
- 37:20Speaker 7: which is why doctors recommend adults getting screened at forty
- 37:25Speaker 7: five years old. And if you have a family history
- 37:28Speaker 7: or you're going through some symptoms, you need to get
- 37:31Speaker 7: checked right now, So don't wait.
- 37:33Speaker 8: Get checked.
- 37:33Speaker 7: A kolonoskby is still the best screening tool, but for
- 37:36Speaker 7: some people that are simple at home tests that may
- 37:38Speaker 7: be an option.
- 37:39Speaker 1: The key is talking with your doctor.
- 37:42Speaker 7: Having a relationship with a primary care provider helps make
- 37:45Speaker 7: sure you're getting the right screenings at the right time.
- 37:49Speaker 7: So schedule your appointment today with Oshner at Oschner dot
- 37:53Speaker 7: org slash schedule or through the my oshnar app again,
- 37:57Speaker 7: schedule your appointment at Oshner dot org slash or threw
- 38:00Speaker 7: the my Oshner app.
- 38:04Speaker 8: Don't know if I clarify something real quick?
- 38:09Speaker 6: Go ahead?
- 38:10Speaker 8: Alright, go ahead, go ahead.
- 38:12Speaker 6: I'm scared.
- 38:12Speaker 11: I got now you know you should be scared. I
- 38:14Speaker 11: had a little feedback in the the chat a couple
- 38:17Speaker 11: of sevements ago, and I was talking about the Pentagon
- 38:19Speaker 11: spending money. Yes, I didn't wanted to clarify something Okay,
- 38:25Speaker 11: I wasn't saying that was a bad thing. No, I
- 38:27Speaker 11: wanted to buy more steaks and more lobsters because I
- 38:30Speaker 11: do know that they do give troops that are getting
- 38:33Speaker 11: deployed a nice meal before so and I think they
- 38:35Speaker 11: should do more of it.
- 38:36Speaker 10: For sure.
- 38:37Speaker 8: Absolutely, you're good. I want to wanted to make sure
- 38:40Speaker 8: that was out there.
- 38:41Speaker 6: You're trying out how hypocritical people are.
- 38:44Speaker 9: Dude, we said we like donuts. Jake even asked us
- 38:47Speaker 9: how we spell it. Absolutely criticization about more. I think
- 38:49Speaker 9: they should have more ice cream machines.
- 38:51Speaker 3: The point was that they're probably bigger fish to fry
- 38:54Speaker 3: than LSU athletics. Like there's so much corruption in this state.
- 38:58Speaker 3: I'm not really worried about if my tax dollars.
- 39:00Speaker 6: Are pain student and.
- 39:03Speaker 11: The government's spend, they use it or lose it. Yeah, funds,
- 39:06Speaker 11: it's kind of dumb, Like just give them a budget.
- 39:07Speaker 11: Like if they save money, the great.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Roll over, roll it over, Like, come on, we don't
- 39:15Speaker 3: like Louisian's a rainy day fund.
- 39:16Speaker 6: They don't have that nationally.
- 39:17Speaker 8: Yeah, anyway, all the steaks, let's go get them all
- 39:21Speaker 8: the steaks.
- 39:22Speaker 6: I agree, you're gonna go ship them off to the
- 39:25Speaker 6: side of the world to go.
- 39:27Speaker 8: Yeah, you know, we like to track the pizza sales.
- 39:30Speaker 11: I don't know what the pizza so they like last week,
- 39:34Speaker 11: oh yeah, last week.
- 39:36Speaker 8: Yeah, the Pentagon pizza track or popping off last week.
- 39:40Speaker 10: You know, the pizza places around there.
- 39:42Speaker 9: They don't want anything major to happen, but also they're like, man,
- 39:45Speaker 9: we gotta need something to happen here.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Actually, if like the majority of my tax dollars went
- 39:49Speaker 3: to supporting the troops and veterans that come home, I
- 39:52Speaker 3: would be completely okay with that.
- 39:54Speaker 8: Daniel Ashner are asolutely right. More can be done to
- 39:56Speaker 8: support the troops during post service too, Absolutely no, it's.
- 40:00Speaker 6: Like the most important part of it is post I.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Think I'm with you fully get behind that one hundred percent.
- 40:10Speaker 6: Thank you for your service, for everybody you served. We
- 40:15Speaker 6: love you, we appreciate you.
- 40:19Speaker 7: I did mention that we'd give all the LSU or
- 40:21Speaker 7: sorry SEC baseball series this weekend, So just a quick
- 40:26Speaker 7: overpass here. Tennessee at Georgia, Alabama at Kentucky, South Carolina
- 40:29Speaker 7: at Florida, LSU at Vanderbilt, Mississippi State at Arkansas, Auburn
- 40:33Speaker 7: at Missouri, Texas A and M at Oklahoma, Old Miss
- 40:37Speaker 7: at Texas, and then.
- 40:41Speaker 6: Let's see alab that's gonna be a good matchup.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, album is I can take? You want to make
- 40:45Speaker 1: sure I had that right?
- 40:46Speaker 6: Uh?
- 40:46Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I know you're looking forward to Old Miss Texas.
- 40:48Speaker 7: How about though, Missisippi State of Arkansas number three verus U.
- 40:53Speaker 9: I was talking about it a little bit yesterday, like
- 40:55Speaker 9: we didn't expect Arkansas the slow start that they got
- 40:58Speaker 9: off to either, but it's still a talent team.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Mississippi State is looking really good early in the season.
- 41:05Speaker 3: They got a Sreez who's just lighting the ball up.
- 41:08Speaker 3: So I think Mississippi State is set to make a
- 41:12Speaker 3: bit of a run. We'll see how far it goes.
- 41:14Speaker 3: But they're hitting really well.
- 41:17Speaker 7: That'd be a good series, and the Oklahoma is gonna
- 41:19Speaker 7: be a good series too. We're going to give I
- 41:21Speaker 7: think LSU fans a pretty good idea of where Oklahoma
- 41:24Speaker 7: is before they come.
- 41:25Speaker 1: To the box.
- 41:26Speaker 11: How About from the record standpoint of LSU, Vanderbilt's like
- 41:28Speaker 11: the worst matchup in the SEC.
- 41:32Speaker 7: I mean South Carolina Florida maybe, yeah, right there with it,
- 41:39Speaker 7: but Vandy does like very bottom, very bottom of the League,
- 41:42Speaker 7: so big weekend it always does, opening weekend of SEC
- 41:45Speaker 7: baseball with some marquee matchups, and we're gonna be able
- 41:47Speaker 7: to see where the Tigers are against unranked Vanderbilt. Again
- 41:51Speaker 7: not something we say very often over the last couple
- 41:53Speaker 7: of years decade, Vanderbilt not ranked. As we go into
- 41:57Speaker 7: SEC play, we still are going to have j clark
- 42:00Speaker 7: On head coach LSU Gymnastics.
- 42:02Speaker 1: In our number three.
- 42:05Speaker 7: We pushed it back, went long obviously in the opening
- 42:07Speaker 7: segment talking about LSU getting sued, and so we are
- 42:10Speaker 7: going to have coach clark On.
- 42:11Speaker 1: We'll step away more OTB when we come back here
- 42:14Speaker 1: live from the Raisin Kane studio. Off the bench.

- 44:35Speaker 11: is that Umbrella song? I'm like, hell yeah, I want
- 44:39Speaker 11: to go hear that Umbrella song. But yeah, we got
- 44:42Speaker 11: there at midnight. We left it four in the morning.
- 44:45Speaker 11: Still she had stilln't taking the stage. I tried, I tried,
- 44:50Speaker 11: came on. I heard she came out of five. That's
- 44:53Speaker 11: a little ridiculous.
- 44:56Speaker 8: Yeah, that's a look. That is a greet.
- 45:00Speaker 7: You just I've never back of my day bag of
- 45:06Speaker 7: my day being Crossby would have been on that stage.
- 45:09Speaker 7: It had been tap dancing for thirty minutes and in
- 45:11Speaker 7: bed by nine at the Holiday Inn.
- 45:13Speaker 1: You say, hey, we're coming back, hour number three. Who
- 45:17Speaker 1: knows what's gonna happen on O TV?
- 45:19Speaker 6: Off the bench
