- 0:00Speaker 1: Kyle learned the new jen or alf jen alpha slang word.
- 0:03Speaker 1: But before you tell us that slang word, guess what
- 0:06Speaker 1: slang word is the only slang word that has been
- 0:11Speaker 1: used by almost every generation.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Oh, I got to guess right now what I think?
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's got to be cool? Wow, that's pretty cool? Really wow?
- 0:19Speaker 3: Cool?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Cool. You know how you think giving a kid a
- 0:22Speaker 4: cool name will make him cool?
- 0:23Speaker 2: It doesn't. Oh man, that's not cool.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Good God, that was cool. It was so cool.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I know you've heard it a billion times and it
- 0:30Speaker 1: probably gets old.
- 0:30Speaker 4: But you're the man say that is not coo.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yeah, cool cool, So transcend that what goes out of style? Yeah?
- 0:37Speaker 1: So when you tell us this new slang word, your word,
- 0:40Speaker 1: this new slang word you learned, Kyle, I have slang
- 0:42Speaker 1: words from the fifties that are really popular in the fifties.
- 0:47Speaker 4: I've ever even heard of them before, some of them. Yeah,
- 0:48Speaker 4: but what happened would you learn?
- 0:50Speaker 5: So it was in the car with my kids, and
- 0:51Speaker 5: I've I've told you guys that when somebody says a
- 0:54Speaker 5: word that comes from a song, I like to say, oh,
- 0:57Speaker 5: that's from a song, and then I play the song
- 0:59Speaker 5: for my kids and they get really frustrated and they
- 1:01Speaker 5: get real worked up, and I get like satisfied at
- 1:04Speaker 5: that moment because I feel like they're learning some history
- 1:07Speaker 5: of music and it's pretty awesome. But this time they
- 1:10Speaker 5: already knew the song. Someone was like, yeah, I guess
- 1:12Speaker 5: it's like kind of like an unknown situation. And I
- 1:14Speaker 5: was like into the unknown, you know, from Frozen two,
- 1:17Speaker 5: And I was like, do you guys want to hear
- 1:18Speaker 5: this song? They're like no, He's like, Mom, that song
- 1:23Speaker 5: is so zesty, And I was like.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I don't know that one.
- 1:27Speaker 4: What do you mean zesty?
- 1:29Speaker 5: Because I like zesty could be good, you know, like
- 1:31Speaker 5: it's like it's fun, it's zesty question Because no, Mom
- 1:34Speaker 5: is like cringe. I was like, so zesty apparently is
- 1:37Speaker 5: the new cringe for Jen.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Alpha really cringes out.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Dutch uses as you haven't heard him music in a while,
- 1:44Speaker 1: but usually it's when it was something like it's almost
- 1:47Speaker 1: like he switched it out for the word sexy, like
- 1:50Speaker 1: if you were an aufha oohs zesty.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Ooh that's zesty really, because I feel like I've always
- 1:54Speaker 6: heard it differently, like Okay, for example, like all the
- 1:58Speaker 6: NBA players, the younger gen Z NBA players are all
- 2:00Speaker 6: blinged out and I sed out like they're zesty.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, so that doesn't that's crazy.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I mean, that's zesty. Is not cringe.
- 2:07Speaker 6: It's it's not cringe, but it's also not fly.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It's just like, okay, you do you.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I guess that's how I feel. That's how I feel.
- 2:15Speaker 6: It's almost like, I mean, it's just like you're kind
- 2:17Speaker 6: of zesty, You're kind of little.
- 2:19Speaker 5: But that's that's the way gen Z's using it. This
- 2:21Speaker 5: is jen Alpha.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Yeah, big difference.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the difference.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I can't tell the way Like when to me, my
- 2:28Speaker 1: translation was sexy, I can't tell what your translation is
- 2:31Speaker 1: negative or positive tickets.
- 2:33Speaker 6: I think it's take it as you will.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:35Speaker 6: I don't I also asked for the explanation what does
- 2:38Speaker 6: that mean? But I feel like you could probably label
- 2:40Speaker 6: my brother Jalen as zesty.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Okay, so what does that mean?
- 2:45Speaker 6: I know, Like, I mean just kind of like you're
- 2:47Speaker 6: just kind of zesty, like you kind of got a
- 2:49Speaker 6: little bit of a peppy your step. Like maybe you're
- 2:51Speaker 6: a man who kind of embodies like girly traits like
- 2:55Speaker 6: wearing diamonds all the time.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Are you think, are you saying gay?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Not really, because.
- 2:59Speaker 6: I don't think gay is the right way to use it.
- 3:01Speaker 3: No, what Yeah, if Dutch is calling you, he's calling
- 3:06Speaker 3: you gay.
- 3:06Speaker 6: Yeah, like me, I wouldn't say that hilarious, but you wouldn't.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Now that you say that.
- 3:14Speaker 3: You can have multiple words, you know, you can use
- 3:18Speaker 3: that in a couple of different ways, but most of
- 3:20Speaker 3: the time it's it's calling someone gay, at least for
- 3:22Speaker 3: gen Z. So the way Dutch is coming at you as.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, it's all making sense. Do you
- 3:34Speaker 1: know any times he said that to me and.
- 3:37Speaker 2: He's just getting away with it. That's why he's using it,
- 3:40Speaker 2: because you're not catching doesn't even know.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Oh god, it's a word for Kyle's kids.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You wouldn't be in the.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Note or Okay, So check out these slang words from
- 4:00Speaker 1: the nineteen fifty four So we're talking about slang.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I was thinking, was it wouldn't cool have been around
- 4:05Speaker 2: in the fifties too?
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it was, it was.
- 4:07Speaker 2: It had stayed around this long before that.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It was even so a fluky you ever heard of flukey?
- 4:14Speaker 1: A fluky is a jerk. If you're at the movies,

- 4:19Speaker 1: person who makes wise cracks.
- 4:20Speaker 2: The fliplip, your guy flip lip giving me the flip lilip?

- 7:30Speaker 1: You posted it so, but I wouldn't sure if you
- 7:32Speaker 1: saw it or not because you don't feel my stomach
- 7:34Speaker 1: ache time. So I interviewed Rob Schneider three days ago
- 7:38Speaker 1: and he told me in the interview that Grown Up
- 7:41Speaker 1: three was happening.
- 7:42Speaker 4: In fact check, I have the I have the clip

- 8:15Speaker 2: Yes, so we'll see. It's fun. I'm excited about it,
- 8:18Speaker 2: and Adam's bringing the band back together and we're all
- 8:20Speaker 2: getting old, so you know, it's like trying to get
- 8:22Speaker 2: all this like you know, Chris Rock and David's fade
- 8:24Speaker 2: that day.
- 8:25Speaker 4: I don't know that.
- 8:25Speaker 2: It's like a long flight from my back, buddy.
- 8:28Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Somebody's gonna have to carry me.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:31Speaker 1: So, so that was a few days ago, and that's
- 8:34Speaker 1: a that's a short clip from the highly successful John J.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Vannes podcast, And that wasn't going to drop for a
- 8:39Speaker 4: week or two.
- 8:40Speaker 1: But also Netflix put out the press release and I'm like,
- 8:43Speaker 1: wait a minute, I had to scoop on Netflix.
- 8:45Speaker 4: I could have dropped that three days ago.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It beating Netflix to the punch.
- 8:49Speaker 1: And this is where I'm getting it. I'm so excited
- 8:51Speaker 1: about what I'm about to tell you next. And this
- 8:53Speaker 1: is just in my own brain. I posted on my
- 8:56Speaker 1: Instagram and iHeartRadio collapsed, right, That's never happened to me.
- 9:01Speaker 4: They don't even follow me.

- 9:05Speaker 1: I heard follows Rich follows you guys follows John Jay
- 9:09Speaker 1: and Rich, but they don't follow me. Yeah, well you're
- 9:11Speaker 1: hard to find out. So they collabed with me and
- 9:15Speaker 1: I got so excited, like I don't and then yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 1: but then on TikTok and I didn't. This is I
- 9:21Speaker 1: didn't know that John J. Vanas podcast had its own TikTok.
- 9:25Speaker 1: It does, It does, and it has one hundred and
- 9:27Speaker 1: fifty thousand views on that clip. So I'm hoping so
- 9:30Speaker 1: if you would mind go to Instagram share it. Because
- 9:34Speaker 1: Netflix just put out a paper release. I have one
- 9:37Speaker 1: of the stars of the movie talking about it, Rob Schneider,
- 9:40Speaker 1: and the podcast will probably drop maybe hopefully tomorrow because
- 9:42Speaker 1: it's a really good podcast.
- 9:44Speaker 4: He's he's so damn funny.
- 9:45Speaker 1: He does all these different character voices, tell a story
- 9:47Speaker 1: about everything growing up Filipino in San Francisco and all
- 9:49Speaker 1: kinds of stuff.
- 9:50Speaker 4: He's just fantastic.
