- 1:41Speaker 5: Now I would like to introduce a really great interview
- 1:45Speaker 5: I did about a very intimate personal relationship with one
- 1:51Speaker 5: of Hollywood's biggest stars, Anna Nicole Smith. As you know,
- 1:55Speaker 5: her Netflix doc about her life is coming out in
- 1:58Speaker 5: a few days. And I was lucky enough to talk
- 2:01Speaker 5: to two of her very good friends that are also
- 2:03Speaker 5: featured in the documentary.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Patrick and Paul, you're going to meet.
- 2:07Speaker 5: They're funny and they're endearing, but they also give a
- 2:11Speaker 5: lot of intimate details of her life, her legacy, her death,
- 2:16Speaker 5: what she was like. And they have some really strong
- 2:19Speaker 5: opinions about some people in her life. And I want
- 2:21Speaker 5: to say those are the opinions of my guests and
- 2:25Speaker 5: not the opinions of mine or the show. But I
- 2:27Speaker 5: think you'll really find this interesting and juicy. So let's
- 2:31Speaker 5: get on with it.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I have my friends here, three of my friends, because
- 2:38Speaker 5: they brought their little dog Snow White.
- 2:41Speaker 4: But it is Patrick Simpson and Paul Atu.
- 2:45Speaker 5: You have seen them on their show, Down and Out,
- 2:49Speaker 5: because they dress the Hollywood elite.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Gowning out.
- 2:54Speaker 4: In a good way.
- 2:54Speaker 2: In Beverly Hills.
- 2:55Speaker 4: In Beverly Hills.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Gowning out in Beverly Hills.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Gowning out in Beverly Hills, which is a great title.
- 3:01Speaker 5: But you guys have celebrity clients and you just did
- 3:04Speaker 5: Sheena Shea's dress.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Wedding dress.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Beautiful gowns for all occasions.
- 3:09Speaker 3: And the baby, Summer.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah, he made her a gown too.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I made Summer's dress.
- 3:12Speaker 2: The mad Sheena.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Summer is the cutest.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 5: I've hung out with Summer a few times as well.
- 3:18Speaker 2: She's smart, too, that little girl.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Oh, my God. She and Ocean are best friends, and
- 3:22Speaker 4: they are too freaking cute from Vanderpump.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Anyway, so thank you for coming here, and we were
- 3:28Speaker 5: just talking about all the mutual friends we have.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Well, when Heather calls, you go.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yes.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 3:34Speaker 3: So I'm just saying, I'm here.
- 3:37Speaker 5: So you were saying that you've known Josh Flagg. A
- 3:41Speaker 5: million-dollar listing, you said you've known him since he was 14.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Oh, because he went to Beverly Hills High School. So
- 3:45Speaker 3: I've had my shop for almost 30 years in the
- 3:48Speaker 3: Golden Triangle at Rodeo.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So he used to come by with all these very,
- 3:53Speaker 3: very interesting ideas.
- 3:54Speaker 2: About headbands and wristbands. He wanted to do sweatbands. He
- 3:58Speaker 2: had little armbands. Back in the day.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Wait, you were doing stuff like that?
- 4:02Speaker 3: No, just for him.
- 4:04Speaker 2: For him.
- 4:04Speaker 3: No, I was entertaining the kid. I was driving him home.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Grandma used to come over.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And say thank you. You know, very sweet story. Edith.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Grandmother. She came before she died and said goodbye to Paul.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Like she knew she was going to go.
- 4:20Speaker 3: She said, there's only a few people that I really
- 4:22Speaker 3: want to reach out and say thank you for all
- 4:24Speaker 3: the memories and all the treasures that I can take
- 4:26Speaker 3: with me.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Oh.
- 4:28Speaker 3: And I just want to say, I hope this isn't
- 4:32Speaker 3: the last time I'm going to see you, but it
- 4:35Speaker 3: may be. Yeah. And I just wanted to say thank you.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And then she was, that was what, a week or so?
- 4:42Speaker 3: Right after that, she was gone.
- 4:44Speaker 4: And you guys have been a couple for how long?
- 4:46Speaker 2: 19 years. My husband, the bitch, will say 72 hours,
- 4:50Speaker 2: but it's actually 19 years.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Well, it keeps it more fresh, doesn't it?
- 4:54Speaker 2: 72 hours is more exciting.
- 4:55Speaker 4: And you've been married for how long?
- 4:56Speaker 2: We're not married.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Oh, you're not married.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We're engaged. We got engaged on E! Television. Okay. On
- 5:01Speaker 2: a show called New Money.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Heather, would you say this is a marriage ring or
- 5:07Speaker 3: an engagement ring? Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I would say that's a ring. Well, I guess it's
- 5:11Speaker 4: an engagement ring. You're right.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I need something more substantial.
- 5:14Speaker 4: So you got engaged how long ago and on which show?
- 5:17Speaker 2: We got engaged on a television show called New Money.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:21Speaker 2: And I shut down. Although ours was old.
- 5:23Speaker 3: It is true.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Old Money, but on New Money. And I shut down
- 5:27Speaker 2: Redale Drive and surprised him, got down on one knee.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Wait, I'm going to tell the story because your story
- 5:33Speaker 3: is very short version.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I need to know what year this was.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Five years ago.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Five years ago.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you what happened. First, they came
- 5:41Speaker 3: out and they were going to do an entire week's
- 5:44Speaker 3: worth of taping.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Then they said it was going to be a full episode.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Then they changed the storyline so many different ways, right? Yeah. Okay, fine.
- 5:52Speaker 3: So ultimately, he was going to propose to me because
- 5:55Speaker 3: we had a plane.
- 5:57Speaker 2: On a private plane. That was the plan.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I was getting off a plane and it was going
- 6:00Speaker 3: to be in Hawaii. Yeah. So everything moved up.
- 6:03Speaker 4: But it wasn't like a surprise. You're planning it together.
- 6:06Speaker 2: No, no, no. We were planning it. He was planning it.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That's what he was planning that he told me after. Oh, please.
- 6:11Speaker 2: She knows you. She knows you control everything.
- 6:14Speaker 4: No, no.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I didn't know. No, I didn't know.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So what do you think you're doing on the show?
- 6:17Speaker 4: Just acting like you had new money?
- 6:19Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 6:19Speaker 3: We were just, we didn't even know what it was called.
- 6:22Speaker 3: So we were just having fun. Okay. But that wasn't
- 6:25Speaker 3: going to happen until, not for the show. It was
- 6:27Speaker 3: just going to happen in our life.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh, okay.
- 6:29Speaker 3: So then they said, oh, well, what if we did this?
- 6:32Speaker 3: What if we did that? He goes, well, I mean,
- 6:35Speaker 3: if you know anything about Paul, this is what I
- 6:37Speaker 3: was going to do for him. Right.
- 6:39Speaker 2: So I told him I was going to do the
- 6:40Speaker 2: private plane, go to Hawaii, do a proposal. And so
- 6:44Speaker 2: they said, why don't we do a private plane and
- 6:47Speaker 2: we can do the proposal at the Burbank airport, the millionaire,
- 6:51Speaker 2: the private airport.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I forget the name of the airport.
- 6:53Speaker 4: The Van Nuys.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Yes. And so they couldn't get a permit in time
- 6:57Speaker 2: to film.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Right.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So then they said, OK, they came back to me,
- 7:00Speaker 2: the producers for me, and they said, OK, we can't
- 7:02Speaker 2: get a permit in time to film. And they said, well,
- 7:05Speaker 2: what else can we do? I said, well, I'm going
- 7:06Speaker 2: to propose to him. So if you're going to capture it.
- 7:08Speaker 3: There's an important part there. Oh, they said, well, what
- 7:12Speaker 3: if we just do it inside the hangar with the
- 7:14Speaker 3: plane already that you guys already have commissioned?
- 7:17Speaker 2: And I said, Paul would never allow that. Are you
- 7:19Speaker 2: kidding me?
- 7:19Speaker 4: So wait, what do you mean? Like kind of just
- 7:21Speaker 4: steal the view?
- 7:22Speaker 2: Fake it. I'm like, are you kidding?
- 7:26Speaker 3: No, that's not going to happen. No, no, no. No.
- 7:29Speaker 3: It has to be real.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And they said, okay, what if we get a permit,
- 7:33Speaker 2: get a permit from Beverly Hills and shut down Rodeo
- 7:35Speaker 2: Drive in a certain section.
- 7:37Speaker 3: In front of Cartier.
- 7:37Speaker 2: No, that's not what happened.
- 7:39Speaker 3: He said, I want it in front of the Beverly
- 7:42Speaker 3: Hills hotel.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Oh, that's right.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Just like any woman.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I did say that.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Why do you forget everything?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Not Beverly Hills Hotel.
- 7:49Speaker 4: The Beverly Wilshire.
- 7:50Speaker 2: The Beverly Wilshire. Yes.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Not Beverly Wilshire.
- 7:53Speaker 2: On the other side of Rodeo Drive. Yes.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Which is right behind my store.
- 7:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So he goes, oh, but we can't do that. And
- 8:00Speaker 3: he goes, well, then you're not going to get a proposal. Right.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Because unless you shut down Rodeo Drive for Paul, what.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Else is there to do? Right.
- 8:07Speaker 3: And they go, okay, give us the 24 hours.
- 8:11Speaker 2: They come back to me and say, okay, we've got...
- 8:14Speaker 2: a small section of Rodeo Drive near Cartier, that block,
- 8:18Speaker 2: and we're going to shut it down for approximately one
- 8:21Speaker 2: hour for filming. Can we do it? I'm like, okay,
- 8:24Speaker 2: let's do it. Next thing I know, I'm off to
- 8:26Speaker 2: Sierra Jewelers, same jeweler that did Kim Kardashian's ring, did
- 8:30Speaker 2: Elizabeth Taylor's ring, and I'm picking that rock out for him.
- 8:34Speaker 4: How many carats is that?
- 8:35Speaker 3: 22 total.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Really?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Wow.
- 8:41Speaker 3: It's beautiful, Heather.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I love it.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 8:45Speaker 2: But then the bad thing is, after we did this
- 8:48Speaker 2: on TV and showed it.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Can I just give her a full picture?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Okay, give her a full picture.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So here's Patrick and I in Snow White. We're walking
- 8:58Speaker 3: up and down Rodeo Drive. There's nothing happening on Rodeo.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Because my store is right there at Dayton at Rodeo.
- 9:05Speaker 3: So we're walking up and down, and I'm like, What
- 9:07Speaker 3: happened to everybody? Why isn't there anybody here? Because I
- 9:09Speaker 3: had no idea about the proposal.
- 9:11Speaker 2: And they want us window shopping. And he's walking with me.
- 9:13Speaker 2: We're walking.
- 9:13Speaker 3: He goes, what the hell?
- 9:14Speaker 2: We don't window shop. What do you mean?
- 9:16Speaker 3: I'm like, can we just go in and shop?
- 9:18Speaker 2: He's like, no, no, no.
- 9:19Speaker 3: You have to just walk up and down the street.
- 9:21Speaker 4: So now it's because the cameras were not following you.
- 9:23Speaker 2: They were following us. The producers were telling us you
- 9:25Speaker 2: have to pretend like you're shopping. But I'm like, but
- 9:27Speaker 2: this is stupid.
- 9:28Speaker 3: And they're like, we'll have a conversation.
- 9:29Speaker 4: I'm like, about what?
- 9:30Speaker 2: How bullshit this is?
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I had no idea that there was about 50 of
- 9:35Speaker 3: our very close friends that they had text messaged at
- 9:38Speaker 3: 11 a.m. to come to be at Cartier at 12. Yep.
- 9:43Speaker 3: And I'm supposed to be arriving at 1.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Like everything is planned by production.
- 9:47Speaker 3: So by second to second. So when he got down
- 9:52Speaker 3: on one knee right in front of our, that's our
- 9:56Speaker 3: palm tree now. We have a little tag on it.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I swear to God.
- 9:59Speaker 2: It is. So.
- 10:00Speaker 3: In front of, on one knee, and I thought to myself,
- 10:03Speaker 3: are you okay? What happened? I had no.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Idea this was a total surprise.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Oh, you thought you were having a health issue.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know what was going on.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Because we've been walking up and down for like a
- 10:11Speaker 3: freaking hour now. I'm like, what are we trying to capture?
- 10:16Speaker 2: So I start professing my love to him. Telling him
- 10:18Speaker 2: this rollercoaster life we've been on. Blah, blah, blah. And
- 10:21Speaker 2: then I do the big question. Will you marry me?
- 10:24Speaker 3: It was beautiful.
- 10:25Speaker 2: It was beautiful. He loved it. And then all of
- 10:27Speaker 2: a sudden, I'm going to put the ring on his finger.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Production comes running in.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Cut, cut.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Everyone go back. After everyone had run out with... both
- 10:35Speaker 2: balloons and champagne and everything.
- 10:37Speaker 3: There was so much going on.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Everybody back on the other side of the building and Patrick,
- 10:42Speaker 2: you need to take the ring out. We need to
- 10:43Speaker 2: do that again because we've got to get a close up.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Now, at the same time, there's TMZ buses. There's all
- 10:49Speaker 3: the Hollywood buses. Because they don't know what's going on.
- 10:51Speaker 3: They're screaming out the window on the other side.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so fun for TMZ.
- 10:54Speaker 3: They've stopped everybody.
- 10:55Speaker 5: But what a fun day for TMZ to actually see, like,
- 10:58Speaker 5: a filming and a proposal in one thing.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Right. In front of Cartier, of all places, right?
- 11:02Speaker 3: At the corner.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So I'm telling the producer, I'm like, well, what if
- 11:05Speaker 2: I don't remember exactly what I said? They go, just
- 11:07Speaker 2: do the best you can. So I had to go
- 11:08Speaker 2: back on one knee, pretend like we're walking again, then
- 11:11Speaker 2: got down on one knee. Did the whole proposal thing again.
- 11:14Speaker 2: He loved it.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I needed to hear it again. I don't think I
- 11:16Speaker 3: heard it the first time. Although when he did give
- 11:19Speaker 3: me the ring, my first thing, when he opened up
- 11:21Speaker 3: that box and I saw the ring, the first thing
- 11:23Speaker 3: I whispered to him, and of course we're mic'd so
- 11:26Speaker 3: everybody can hear what I'm saying, but I can't. I
- 11:28Speaker 3: don't know that they can hear me, right?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I go, what the fuck? Did you sell a house?
- 11:34Speaker 3: Because I don't want.
- 11:36Speaker 5: The ring if you sold a house.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Do we still own our houses? I'm like, I want that. Like, what?
- 11:42Speaker 3: I was shocked. I was completely shocked. It was a
- 11:46Speaker 3: moment for sure.
- 11:48Speaker 4: And I do actually have a real serious question.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:51Speaker 5: When a couple has been together that long and you
- 11:53Speaker 5: do own properties and businesses together.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Yes. How do you.
- 11:56Speaker 3: What's mine is mine. What's his is mine.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Right. How do you make such a big purchase?
- 12:03Speaker 2: Without me knowing?
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yeah. Because I'm just like, you know, I've been married
- 12:06Speaker 4: for 23 years. So it's like.
- 12:08Speaker 3: You can't even sneeze without him knowing.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Like if.
- 12:11Speaker 4: This won't happen.
- 12:12Speaker 5: But if my husband wanted to upgrade my ring and
- 12:14Speaker 5: spend whatever, $ 80, 000, I would be thrilled.
- 12:18Speaker 4: He knows that. But still, if I did that for
- 12:21Speaker 4: him with like, whatever, a watch or a car.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:25Speaker 4: No, I would have had to just like discuss it
- 12:28Speaker 4: and make sure. You know what? I do want to upgrade.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Surprise me, but I want to upgrade because it's our
- 12:33Speaker 4: money together.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:35Speaker 4: But I guess.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I feel like some things are... Listen, if my husband... Well,
- 12:39Speaker 3: I call him my husband. Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Because.
- 12:41Speaker 3: We were together before the law passed.
- 12:43Speaker 4: Right.
- 12:44Speaker 3: We were calling each other husbands since he proposed to
- 12:47Speaker 3: me the first time. This is the second proposal. So
- 12:50Speaker 3: it wasn't legal anyway. But I feel like if you
- 12:53Speaker 3: really care about that person, you love that person, and
- 12:55Speaker 3: you know what your boundaries are.
- 12:57Speaker 4: But did you want a ring that big and that fabulous?
- 12:59Speaker 4: So he knows enough about you that you loved and
- 13:03Speaker 4: wanted something different.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Honestly, it didn't even have to be a ring.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It could have been anything.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Because I've always told him I could live in a
- 13:10Speaker 3: shack with you. on an island if that's where we
- 13:13Speaker 3: need to be as long as I had you. Of course,
- 13:16Speaker 3: he would say, fuck no, because.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I'm not living in a goddamn shack. I would say,
- 13:20Speaker 2: fuck no, because I'm not going to live in a
- 13:23Speaker 2: shack and be poor and not wear design. I don't
- 13:27Speaker 2: know how.
- 13:27Speaker 3: No, but I think if you know the relationship, there
- 13:31Speaker 3: are certain things that, like my first instinct was, did
- 13:35Speaker 3: you sell, because I didn't want the ring if he
- 13:37Speaker 3: had sold the house.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Did I want the ring if he mortgaged the house?
- 13:42Speaker 3: I don't know. But you know what?
- 13:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 3: He made it happen. And I think it came from
- 13:47Speaker 3: the heart. Yeah. I think no amount of money could
- 13:49Speaker 3: replace any money.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 3: For this ring. Because it's because something that it was
- 13:56Speaker 3: sentimental that he gave to me that only me and
- 14:00Speaker 3: him can share.
- 14:01Speaker 4: So this reality show that you're on, the new money.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Was this just like a one-off or were you hoping
- 14:07Speaker 5: that it would continue on and you'd be part of
- 14:08Speaker 5: that show as well?
- 14:09Speaker 2: So originally it started, originally they approached us, Doron Ophir,
- 14:14Speaker 2: you know who that is, the casting person, approached us
- 14:16Speaker 2: and said, we've got this new series we're going to
- 14:18Speaker 2: do and they want to follow six couples and a
- 14:20Speaker 2: gay couple in Los Angeles and you're one of the couples.
- 14:24Speaker 2: So originally it was going to be a whole docu-series.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Yeah. Like real housewives.
- 14:28Speaker 3: About the fabulous life of certain couples.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yes.
- 14:32Speaker 2: But very different.
- 14:33Speaker 4: But would the couples hang out together or no? Yes.
- 14:35Speaker 2: They were going to show them. They said mostly our
- 14:38Speaker 2: lives separately. But then you have like a party. Yeah, basically.
- 14:42Speaker 3: We were supposed to see who lives the most luxurious
- 14:47Speaker 3: and lavish and extravagant life. Right. Right.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And then and then they they came to us and said, OK,
- 14:56Speaker 2: after we filmed everything, did everything, they've changed the story.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Now it's not going to be following you guys. And
- 15:01Speaker 2: we're not going to do like a whole month shoot.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Now we're going to do a week shoot. Then they
- 15:07Speaker 2: changed it again. So we're only going to do like
- 15:09Speaker 2: a two week shoot down to a one week shoot.
- 15:11Speaker 2: So we're thinking they're telling us we're going to get
- 15:14Speaker 2: our own episode. So, okay, at least we have a one-off,
- 15:17Speaker 2: one whole episode.
- 15:17Speaker 3: So it would be six episodes or eight episode arc.
- 15:20Speaker 2: And one couple would be each episode. So we're fine.
- 15:23Speaker 2: We agreed to it. Signed on the dotted line. Did everything.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Did the filming for a week. Everything was great. We're
- 15:30Speaker 2: thinking we're getting a whole episode. Yeah, we're done. They
- 15:33Speaker 2: followed our life for a week. It was cool. We
- 15:35Speaker 2: did all kinds of different things. And then after an editing,
- 15:38Speaker 2: they come back to us and say, okay, we're not
- 15:41Speaker 2: going to do this as a one-hour episode. Episode one off.
- 15:45Speaker 2: It's been changed to 30 minutes.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Competition show.
- 15:49Speaker 2: And then it's a competition show.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 2: I'm like, how are we going to compete?
- 15:52Speaker 4: What are you competing for? Exactly.
- 15:54Speaker 2: And we now have three couples on one show. I'm like, what?
- 15:59Speaker 2: They have three stories. So I'm like, we went from
- 16:01Speaker 2: an out.
- 16:01Speaker 4: So what's the competition?
- 16:03Speaker 2: So the competition was who spent the most money in
- 16:06Speaker 2: the episode... And we didn't even know that we were
- 16:10Speaker 2: the wealthiest. Who was the richest in the episode? And
- 16:13Speaker 2: we were the richest.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Oh, who were you against? Anyone I know?
- 16:17Speaker 2: Some Turkish girl in New Jersey who.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Nope, that was.
- 16:22Speaker 4: That's Jennifer, right? Jennifer Aiden?
- 16:25Speaker 3: Yes!
- 16:27Speaker 2: Oh my God, do you know her?
- 16:29Speaker 3: Well, who don't you know?
- 16:30Speaker 2: Is that Jennifer?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yes, because I've interviewed her. She's real housewives of New Jersey.
- 16:36Speaker 3: She's not.
- 16:36Speaker 4: And everything that I've followed, they.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Said, you know, one thing that, you know, really Housewives
- 16:43Speaker 5: fans love is how many people have done something. They've
- 16:46Speaker 5: either been on Say Yes to the Dress or they've
- 16:49Speaker 5: been on a dating show or they've been on Cribs.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Or they've been on something.
- 16:54Speaker 5: And people have brought up that she was on the
- 16:55Speaker 5: show that, you know, was a one and done show.
- 16:58Speaker 4: It was one season.
- 16:59Speaker 2: That's it. And it's got to be it. And who else?
- 17:01Speaker 4: Who was the other couple?
- 17:02Speaker 2: And the other one was Kubica who passed away. I
- 17:06Speaker 2: think he committed suicide a couple of years back.
- 17:09Speaker 3: The industry wasn't kind to him. They were very rude.
- 17:12Speaker 2: To him on the show.
- 17:13Speaker 4: What did he do?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Well, he was a singer and a dancer. And they
- 17:20Speaker 2: made fun of him on the show. It was bad.
- 17:22Speaker 3: No, they did not make fun of him. They just
- 17:25Speaker 3: showcased the reality of what it was.
- 17:26Speaker 2: They showed a concert where he came down from the
- 17:29Speaker 2: sky to an empty room.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Oh, to show.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Well, that's what they love. It was bad.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But it is true.
- 17:36Speaker 4: They kind of love to show. They'll zoom in that
- 17:38Speaker 4: it's empty. They'll zoom in that no one's looking.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Because in his storyline, he came on saying, I am
- 17:45Speaker 2: a dancer, dancer, singer, singer, actor, actor. And he said
- 17:48Speaker 2: he was 17 years old and he was 30 something.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Are you lying about his age?
- 17:53Speaker 3: You know, when you live in an alternate reality and
- 17:57Speaker 3: you start believing it yourself, you have critics out there
- 18:00Speaker 3: that don't live in that same alternate reality that you do.
- 18:04Speaker 3: So it may come across as lying or coming across
- 18:08Speaker 3: as delusional.
- 18:10Speaker 2: It's fake. I mean, Jennifer Aiden went into a store
- 18:13Speaker 2: on the show, say, if that was her. Oh, I
- 18:15Speaker 2: want this. I want this. Put this in my cart. This, this.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And we were watching and he goes, who is this
- 18:19Speaker 2: fake bitch that has no money? That's what we said.
- 18:22Speaker 2: We really did.
- 18:23Speaker 3: She went to a strip mall store. So if she
- 18:26Speaker 3: had actually gone to a legitimate boutique, I could say,
- 18:29Speaker 3: because the ring came about because we have relationships. So
- 18:35Speaker 3: when the transaction happens... Relationship with jewelers.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Yes.
- 18:38Speaker 3: So when he's telling, you know, Sato, the Sierra, who
- 18:43Speaker 3: makes things for Cartier, for Van Cleef, and, you know,
- 18:46Speaker 3: all these other people, right? So when he's telling him, oh,
- 18:49Speaker 3: you know... I'm getting this. And if you watch the
- 18:51Speaker 3: clip about where, when he was shopping, he goes, so
- 18:54Speaker 3: what do you want? He goes, I don't know. It's Paul.
- 18:57Speaker 2: You know, Paul, I don't know.
- 18:59Speaker 3: And he goes, how about this? And he goes, no,
- 19:03Speaker 3: I think it has to be a little bigger. Like
- 19:05Speaker 3: you should have seen the sweat coming down this man's face.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And then the next one he shows, he's like, um,
- 19:12Speaker 3: I don't know. I think it needs to be bigger
- 19:14Speaker 3: than this. And a very dear friend of mine, Eileen
- 19:17Speaker 3: was actually with him.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 2: When we were ring shopping.
- 19:21Speaker 3: So he took somebody that really knows me even before
- 19:24Speaker 3: him that would appreciate and understand what I would like.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yes.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I was going to like.

- 19:50Speaker 3: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next.
- 19:53Speaker 6: Each week on the show, I sit down with extraordinary
- 19:56Speaker 6: people who have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have
- 20:01Speaker 6: found a way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I'm heading to the Emmys and I have police complaints
- 20:09Speaker 4: filed against me.
- 20:10Speaker 3: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 20:13Speaker 3: what would you do if it was given back?
- 20:15Speaker 6: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 20:18Speaker 6: you had.
- 20:18Speaker 2: To succeed in order to feel loved? He said, I
- 20:21Speaker 2: have a work dad. I need a home dad. What
- 20:23Speaker 2: happens next? When I came in, he started crying.
- 20:25Speaker 6: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 20:30Speaker 6: those hard moments that they go through.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It's about what happens next. I decided to risk it all.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 20:40Speaker 4: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 20:42Speaker 6: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 20:46Speaker 6: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 20:57Speaker 4: So, do you think you'll... Are you waiting for a
- 21:02Speaker 4: big ceremony? It doesn't really matter. Do you think you'll
- 21:04Speaker 4: make it official?
- 21:05Speaker 2: Well, so the next thing is.
- 21:06Speaker 4: To actually get married?
- 21:07Speaker 2: We got pitched another show.
- 21:09Speaker 4: To get married?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Yes. And Lance Bass, bitch, stole my wedding because we
- 21:15Speaker 2: signed to do the show with E!
- 21:16Speaker 3: Television.
- 21:19Speaker 2: You know the wedding.
- 21:20Speaker 4: I went to it.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Oh, that was our wedding!
- 21:21Speaker 2: That was our show!
- 21:23Speaker 3: Heather! I was supposed to be getting.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Married that day!
- 21:27Speaker 4: Okay, wait, because you were.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Except ours was going to be a lot more fabulous
- 21:31Speaker 3: instead of all those.
- 21:32Speaker 5: So do you feel like you kind of gave them
- 21:35Speaker 5: the idea? Because when we went to it, I was
- 21:38Speaker 5: really like, this is amazing. This is the first gay
- 21:42Speaker 5: wedding that's been filmed like a celebrity wedding.
- 21:44Speaker 4: And I.
- 21:47Speaker 4: I loved that they did the mother-son dance for both
- 21:51Speaker 4: of them and then switched sons.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 4: And I was like.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Well, it was a natural progression from what we did. Right.
- 21:57Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 21:58Speaker 2: For them then to do the next one. So after
- 21:59Speaker 2: we did the new money, the next thing we were
- 22:01Speaker 2: pitched was this wedding show. Was that one.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Well. Let me tell you how far.
- 22:05Speaker 3: You didn't even take us as your date.
- 22:06Speaker 2: What?
- 22:08Speaker 4: I took my husband as my date.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Oh, bitch.
- 22:10Speaker 2: So we were, we signed on the, we went back
- 22:14Speaker 2: and forth with the contract, put everything together for the wedding,
- 22:17Speaker 2: the wedding special. There's what they said they were going
- 22:19Speaker 2: to do.
- 22:19Speaker 6: Yes.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Then the producers that we signed the contracts that we
- 22:23Speaker 2: sent them into the producers. Two months go by. We
- 22:25Speaker 2: don't hear anything. Hear nothing. Nothing. Then we hear that
- 22:28Speaker 2: Lance Bass and Michael are engaged. Next thing we still
- 22:33Speaker 2: I'm messaging our attorneys sending the letter to E. What's
- 22:37Speaker 2: going on with them? They signed the contract.
- 22:39Speaker 3: The whole scheduling thing.
- 22:40Speaker 2: My attorney sent them a thing to E. The producer saying,
- 22:43Speaker 2: can we get a executed contract? And the producers sign
- 22:46Speaker 2: it and send it back. Email finally comes. I'm sorry,
- 22:51Speaker 2: but we have decided to take the show in a
- 22:53Speaker 2: different direction. One of the producers calls me.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Where are all these directions? Where are these directional signs?
- 23:00Speaker 2: What fucking direction? One of these producers.
- 23:01Speaker 4: North, south, east, west.
- 23:02Speaker 3: They all point to me.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Exactly. One of these producers calls me afterwards, a week after.
- 23:06Speaker 2: She's like, I feel so bad, you guys. We love you.
- 23:10Speaker 2: They loved you. Everything is so great. But Lance Bass
- 23:13Speaker 2: and Michael Turchin got engaged. And they wanted to do
- 23:16Speaker 2: a series. And their series didn't get picked up. So
- 23:18Speaker 2: they're giving them their wedding show. Don't we see this?
- 23:22Speaker 2: But that's what happened. And when I saw Lance in
- 23:24Speaker 2: our boutique, I'm like, bitch stole my wedding.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he knows. We told him.
- 23:30Speaker 4: He knows. I just had dinner with him.
- 23:31Speaker 5: And, you know, it is just your story is such
- 23:33Speaker 5: a common story because when we had dinner, he was
- 23:37Speaker 5: telling stories, not of that, but of similar things where
- 23:41Speaker 5: he pitched movies and had writers and this and that.
- 23:44Speaker 4: And it was being.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yep.
- 23:46Speaker 1: So.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And he's a sweet guy.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Michael's such a nice guy. And they're great.
- 23:50Speaker 3: They've been to our Christmas party.
- 23:51Speaker 2: They've been to so many.
- 23:52Speaker 4: They have their babies. No, obviously it's not their fault.
- 23:54Speaker 3: And it's like.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Of course it is.
- 23:55Speaker 4: No.
- 23:55Speaker 3: What do you mean not their fault?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Oh, it's not their fault.
- 23:58Speaker 4: It's not their fault.
- 23:59Speaker 5: But the executives being like, this has fallen into our
- 24:02Speaker 5: laps and whatever.
- 24:03Speaker 4: We're going to go with it in a different direction. Well,
- 24:05Speaker 4: of course.
- 24:05Speaker 2: You had a huge following. I understand that. It sucks.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Which is fine because I love them both. And I
- 24:12Speaker 3: love the fact that they have such a beautiful relationship.
- 24:15Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:15Speaker 3: And they're enjoying it.
- 24:16Speaker 4: So.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Because marriage, the ceremony or the event itself is a
- 24:22Speaker 3: party for me.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Because my commitment to him cannot be identified by a
- 24:27Speaker 3: piece of paper regardless. Or this ring, although I love
- 24:30Speaker 3: this ring. You know, whatever.
- 24:32Speaker 5: So you do a lot of custom wedding gowns. As
- 24:35Speaker 5: I've said, you did Sheena Shea's wedding gown.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Um, Egypt, Chris from growing up hip hop. He did
- 24:40Speaker 2: her wedding gown. She was eight and a half months pregnant.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Okay. We just saw that on your, she had the
- 24:45Speaker 4: purple and white dress.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Cause she was pregnant. Nobody knew she was pregnant and
- 24:50Speaker 3: all the different things that we did. We started with
- 24:52Speaker 3: white and she goes, you know what?
- 24:54Speaker 2: Fuck it.
- 24:55Speaker 3: I'm doing it all backwards anyway. I go, what would
- 24:58Speaker 3: you really want? She goes, this is what I want.
- 25:00Speaker 3: These are my colors. These are my, this is my theme.
- 25:03Speaker 3: I go, okay. And it was in Vegas, so it
- 25:06Speaker 3: really needed to be more Vegas-y.
- 25:08Speaker 4: And was that featured on her show or your show
- 25:11Speaker 4: or both?
- 25:12Speaker 2: We were on her show. We were on two episodes
- 25:13Speaker 2: of Growing Up Hip Hop and two episodes of Vanderpump Rules.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Oh, okay, great.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Well, it was supposed to be more, but then, you know,
- 25:20Speaker 3: everybody has to fight behind closed doors. I'm like, what
- 25:23Speaker 3: is wrong with you people?
- 25:24Speaker 5: And you had mentioned, and you've said this on a
- 25:26Speaker 5: few different shows, but that you saw Raquel- and Tom
- 25:32Speaker 5: Sandoval at the wedding.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yes, I did.
- 25:34Speaker 5: And when you said it, you just said Tom, and
- 25:36Speaker 5: you didn't realize that that's not the Tom she was
- 25:38Speaker 5: allowed to be with.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Correct. Okay.
- 25:40Speaker 2: And then we talked about it, and I knew it was.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Well, both Toms are Tom.
- 25:43Speaker 2: To me, they're always... We always see them together. They're
- 25:45Speaker 2: nice guys.
- 25:46Speaker 4: They're like... In your brain, they're sort of interchangeable. Yes.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Like all Toms look alike.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah. It's almost like when they see us together. It's
- 25:53Speaker 3: like when they see one of us.
- 25:54Speaker 2: They're like, they're confused. Which one was that?
- 25:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And I'm like... It's a blonde. You know what I mean?
- 25:58Speaker 2: He's brunette. Yeah. And we talked about it and it
- 26:01Speaker 2: was during the, you know, like, we're just going to
- 26:03Speaker 2: put this, you know, this is bullshit. And then we thought, okay,
- 26:05Speaker 2: the producers are just setting up more bullshit.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Well, because we were at the white party and that's
- 26:10Speaker 3: why we were moved.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Because they put Tom Schwartz and Raquel to kiss at
- 26:15Speaker 2: the white party.
- 26:16Speaker 5: So you were at a table enjoying the white party
- 26:18Speaker 5: and they're like, can you move from this table because
- 26:20Speaker 5: we're going to film the.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Two of them talking.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Yeah, my toes are getting nice and toasty wet in
- 26:24Speaker 3: the swimming pool. Like, what is that?
- 26:25Speaker 2: Okay, we had the best table at the white party
- 26:27Speaker 2: and those evil producers came and asked us to move
- 26:30Speaker 2: to the back.
- 26:31Speaker 4: I have to tell you, she put on a beautiful wedding. Oh, well,
- 26:34Speaker 4: I really enjoyed watching it and it looked great.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Beautiful wedding.
- 26:36Speaker 4: But what... Okay, so... Tell my listeners because I may
- 26:40Speaker 4: have told a few times.
- 26:41Speaker 2: They're called juicy scoopers, right?
- 26:43Speaker 4: So tell them what did you witness? So you're coming
- 26:46Speaker 4: off an elevator.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I'm on the elevator.
- 26:48Speaker 4: At what time of night?
- 26:50Speaker 2: No, it was daytime. It was evening time.
- 26:53Speaker 4: The day of the wedding?
- 26:54Speaker 2: Day of the wedding.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Okay. And where in the elevator? Near the pool or
- 26:57Speaker 4: near the hotel rooms?
- 26:58Speaker 2: No, near the bridal suite. So off to the bridal suite,
- 27:00Speaker 2: there's like these caves and like rock walls. And then
- 27:04Speaker 2: to the left, I look when I get off the
- 27:06Speaker 2: elevator to get something for him. And I see him kissing.
- 27:09Speaker 2: So then I'm like, okay, my mind is just playing
- 27:10Speaker 2: tricks on me. I don't understand any of this.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Wait, is she in her bridesmaid's dress yet?
- 27:16Speaker 3: No.
- 27:17Speaker 2: No, I don't think she is. No, because she wasn't. No,
- 27:19Speaker 2: she wasn't. She was so late.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Yeah, because she wasn't downstairs. She was in a robe.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 27:25Speaker 3: I think she was on her way to come down.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Oh.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Because, okay, the wedding was at 5. We were downstairs.
- 27:33Speaker 2: No, the wedding was delayed until 6.30. Well, that's a
- 27:34Speaker 2: whole different story. It was supposed to be at 5.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Well, that's not that big of a deal. The bridal
- 27:39Speaker 3: party was downstairs. Him and I were downstairs. I was
- 27:41Speaker 3: getting Sheena ready. So when we were downstairs, the bridesmaids
- 27:46Speaker 3: were in one area, the bride was in another, and
- 27:48Speaker 3: the boys were in a different area, but all together
- 27:51Speaker 3: within the same area.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Like all in the same building.
- 27:53Speaker 3: So when I told them to go upstairs- They weren't
- 27:56Speaker 3: downstairs yet. He wasn't in the boys' room and she
- 27:59Speaker 3: wasn't with the girls.
- 28:00Speaker 2: And they've been gone for a long time, which we
- 28:02Speaker 2: didn't know until now.
- 28:03Speaker 3: So that's when he went upstairs and then on the
- 28:05Speaker 3: way down is what he witnessed.
- 28:07Speaker 2: And then we were talking about it.
- 28:09Speaker 5: So do you think you witnessed a kiss after a boat?
- 28:14Speaker 4: Like they had.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. They had sex before. And this was like
- 28:17Speaker 2: the goodbye kiss. And then they're going to go separately
- 28:19Speaker 2: into the bridal suite area and pretend like they hadn't
- 28:22Speaker 2: been to. Absolutely.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Because then he was drunk. He walks in drunk. What
- 28:27Speaker 2: are you, NCIS?
- 28:28Speaker 3: Jesus Christ.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I didn't tell Sophia Lyles about her.
- 28:33Speaker 2: She came in, Raquel, and then they were taking the
- 28:36Speaker 2: pictures with the girls and all that. And then he
- 28:38Speaker 2: came in afterwards with a fan and he was fanning.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Yeah, we were having a great time after when they
- 28:44Speaker 3: came into the room. But then Raquel was pulled to
- 28:47Speaker 3: the back again on her own, texting.
- 28:50Speaker 2: She was on her phone the whole time. The whole time.
- 28:53Speaker 2: And I told, we talked about it too. I go,
- 28:54Speaker 2: should we talk to Sheena about this? She goes, it's
- 28:56Speaker 2: her wedding. We're not going to bring this up at
- 28:58Speaker 2: her wedding.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I didn't talk to Sheena about it before when she
- 29:02Speaker 3: was at my boutique.
- 29:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Raquel came a couple of times to the fitting.
- 29:07Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh, because you did all the bridesmaids as well.
- 29:10Speaker 3: No, not the bridesmaids.
- 29:11Speaker 2: The bride.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Oh, she came as just a friend to watch the fitting.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Because she was one of the bridesmaids, but the closest
- 29:17Speaker 3: friend to Sheena. So she's like almost like a maid
- 29:21Speaker 3: of honor.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Sort of a thing.
- 29:22Speaker 3: You know, they're doing things. She's hosting things with her
- 29:25Speaker 3: and what have you. So she knows all the insides
- 29:28Speaker 3: about all the stuff that was going on.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:30Speaker 3: But she wasn't engaged. She didn't really care. Right.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Raquel didn't really seem to care.
- 29:35Speaker 3: No, she just sat on her chair.
- 29:36Speaker 2: She was on her phone the whole time.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Yeah, she wasn't really interested in any of this. that
- 29:40Speaker 3: was going on.
- 29:41Speaker 2: So it was, I don't know. It didn't seem.
- 29:43Speaker 5: I think it was just all, I think her goal
- 29:46Speaker 5: from the start was to be on the show.
- 29:49Speaker 2: I think it was fame. I think she was after fame.
- 29:52Speaker 2: It was fame to be on the show.
- 29:53Speaker 4: 100%.
- 29:53Speaker 5: Once she got on the show, she was going to
- 29:55Speaker 5: stay on the show. So she falls in love with James.
- 29:57Speaker 5: She goes after James, falls in love with James.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Breaks up with James, or maybe she was never in
- 30:01Speaker 4: love with him.
- 30:02Speaker 5: Once that ended, she knew, I've got to, you know,
- 30:06Speaker 5: and then she goes after four different guys on the show.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yep.
- 30:09Speaker 4: But I said, never did she go out when they
- 30:13Speaker 4: weren't shooting and look for a guy or go on
- 30:16Speaker 4: Raya or anything. No, it had to be a cast member.
- 30:19Speaker 4: And she's hanging out with.
- 30:20Speaker 2: All the friends. We were saying that whenever we would
- 30:22Speaker 2: see James, because James would come to our parties, our boutique.
- 30:26Speaker 2: We would see him at different events. And Raquel was there.
- 30:28Speaker 2: And Paul never liked Raquel. And we would always say,
- 30:30Speaker 2: I think this girl is using him. Because James is
- 30:33Speaker 2: so sweet. We really always loved James.
- 30:34Speaker 4: And he's hilarious.
- 30:35Speaker 2: He's such a nice guy. Like you said, so funny.
- 30:38Speaker 3: He's genuine.
- 30:39Speaker 2: And Paul was always... Why is this girl with him?
- 30:43Speaker 3: Well, during COVID, when we used to go get our
- 30:45Speaker 3: hair done, our hairdresser lives two floors above change.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Used to before moving down.
- 30:48Speaker 3: So when they were engaged the whole time, we used
- 30:51Speaker 3: to see them there all the time downstairs. And I'm like....
- 30:55Speaker 2: And you said so many times that she has an agenda.
- 30:58Speaker 2: She has an agenda.
- 31:00Speaker 3: She has a plan.
- 31:01Speaker 2: She has an agenda. And I believe it. I believe
- 31:03Speaker 2: it now. I really do. I don't even think she really.
- 31:04Speaker 3: You know, some people don't believe me when I say things,
- 31:07Speaker 3: but I'm one of those people... that sees things through people.
- 31:12Speaker 3: And I've got nothing to hide. I'm like, okay, well,
- 31:14Speaker 3: there it is.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Some people have like this innate, my brother-in-law, Michael, kind
- 31:20Speaker 5: of has like innate judge of character. And there'd be
- 31:22Speaker 5: times when we had like friends that would end up
- 31:25Speaker 5: getting divorced or whatever.
- 31:26Speaker 4: And my sister would be like.
- 31:28Speaker 5: You know, even though we did all these social things,
- 31:31Speaker 5: you went on a vacation with this couple, Michael, her husband,
- 31:35Speaker 5: who's the most standup guy ever, greatest husband, just wonderful.
- 31:39Speaker 4: She's like, you know, Michael never liked it. And I go, really?
- 31:44Speaker 4: And she goes, yeah, he just rolled with it, but
- 31:46Speaker 4: he never liked him. And he'd be like, I just
- 31:48Speaker 4: don't like that guy. I just don't. And I think
- 31:50Speaker 4: certain people have a gift like that.
- 31:53Speaker 5: I feel like with Lala, like that gift became more
- 31:57Speaker 5: attuned after what she's been through. But some people just
- 31:59Speaker 5: kind of have a character where they're just like, they
- 32:01Speaker 5: just have a good judge of character of other people.
- 32:04Speaker 4: And something tells you that you're like, hmm.
- 32:07Speaker 3: I think if a lot of people listen to their intuition...
- 32:09Speaker 3: their inner self, but you have to know how to
- 32:12Speaker 3: be able to understand it and hear it. I've done
- 32:15Speaker 3: some training on it myself before I was with him
- 32:20Speaker 3: where I wanted to understand myself. I really wanted to
- 32:23Speaker 3: find me before I could find somebody else that could
- 32:26Speaker 3: compliment me. And I think that's when I was able
- 32:29Speaker 3: to really realize and connect with that part of me.
- 32:33Speaker 3: I think all of us possess it, but it's just
- 32:35Speaker 3: a way to be able to understand, listen to it,
- 32:38Speaker 3: and reason with it. Because there's so many things that
- 32:41Speaker 3: have happened. And I told Sheena as well. I said, Sheena,
- 32:44Speaker 3: I didn't want to tell you all of this because
- 32:46Speaker 3: I knew where you were. And I knew all the
- 32:47Speaker 3: things that you were doing. And I wanted to celebrate.
- 32:51Speaker 4: And also she thought this was her friend.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Of course.
- 32:53Speaker 4: And so let her have a beautiful day. It's not
- 32:56Speaker 4: going to matter. You didn't have anything concrete. So why
- 32:59Speaker 4: say something?
- 32:59Speaker 3: But I don't think she was ready to even hear
- 33:02Speaker 3: it or listen to it because she was planning this extravaganza.
- 33:07Speaker 3: And her focus wasn't who likes me or who doesn't
- 33:10Speaker 3: like me or who's there for me. Who's because her
- 33:12Speaker 3: focus was Brock.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 3: The baby, their life together.
- 33:16Speaker 5: She even told me when we were hanging out and
- 33:18Speaker 5: her mom too said, you know, she didn't, she really
- 33:22Speaker 5: did the wedding like for Brock. Brock really wanted the
- 33:25Speaker 5: wedding and she, she had already done it. And she
- 33:27Speaker 5: kind of feel, it felt like, come on, this is
- 33:29Speaker 5: like my second wedding. I think she had a really
- 33:31Speaker 5: fabulous time at the time, but like, If Brock had
- 33:35Speaker 5: been like, let's just do something small in the backyard
- 33:38Speaker 5: or whatever, she would.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Have been like, no problem.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Of course she would have been okay.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Well, because it was about the union. It wasn't about
- 33:44Speaker 3: the celebration. You always say when all my clients come in,
- 33:48Speaker 3: I'm like, the marriage is for you two. Because there's
- 33:51Speaker 3: so many bridezillas. The marriage is for you two. The
- 33:54Speaker 3: wedding is for the rest of the family and everybody
- 33:57Speaker 3: else that's going to be joining in the celebration.
- 33:59Speaker 4: I have another wedding question. When did it become.
- 34:03Speaker 5: a normal thing to be a bride and have, like,
- 34:06Speaker 5: three different bridal changes.
- 34:08Speaker 6: Oh.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Because that certainly didn't happen when I got married in 2000.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I love it. I think it was great, actually.
- 34:13Speaker 3: You still have time, Heather.
- 34:14Speaker 2: We can celebrate another one.
- 34:15Speaker 3: It's going to be 24 years.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 34:17Speaker 4: It's going to be 23 years, May 27th.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Okay, so we could do it May 23, May.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Oh, so 23, just finished.
- 34:24Speaker 4: No, no, no. It's coming May 27th. Oh, May?
- 34:26Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Yes.
- 34:27Speaker 3: 23 is....
- 34:30Speaker 4: Will be 23 years. Wow.
- 34:32Speaker 3: Isn't that beautiful to know that you're with.
- 34:34Speaker 4: I always don't know how many years I got married
- 34:35Speaker 4: because it was 2000. This is very easy to keep track.
- 34:38Speaker 4: But it's beautiful to know.
- 34:40Speaker 3: That you're with somebody that you know you have all
- 34:44Speaker 3: this to share with. You have beautiful children. You have
- 34:47Speaker 3: a great relationship. You guys are healthy. And what else
- 34:51Speaker 3: do you really want or need? Nothing, right?
- 34:53Speaker 4: Well, if he wants to do a vow renewal show,
- 34:55Speaker 4: I mean.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Because I probably not. Will you do it? Sure, I'm not.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Going to do it unless it's filmed.
- 34:59Speaker 2: We already said our 20th year, which is in July,
- 35:03Speaker 2: July 21, that we are going to get married. But
- 35:06Speaker 2: we're doing it on the show, obviously. We're not going
- 35:08Speaker 2: to do it not on the show. And I know
- 35:10Speaker 2: Sheena changed three times. Fuck it, I'm changing five times
- 35:13Speaker 2: at my wedding. I don't care. Why shouldn't you change?
- 35:16Speaker 4: I don't want to change that many times because I
- 35:17Speaker 4: don't want to miss the fun.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Well, I would change.
- 35:20Speaker 4: I would do two. I would do one thing for
- 35:23Speaker 4: that and like the dinner.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but Sheena did not want to ruin.
- 35:28Speaker 4: And then one short something to dance.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you. Sheena changed for the cave specifically
- 35:34Speaker 3: at the end.
- 35:35Speaker 2: She didn't want to change.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Because she didn't want to ruin the dress. There's no
- 35:38Speaker 3: way you could have been in the cave.
- 35:39Speaker 5: But also I feel the dress is so gorgeous that
- 35:42Speaker 5: people change out of it too quickly.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I agree.
- 35:44Speaker 4: And I'm like, don't you want to spend at least.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Yeah, and then like scoot away for the dancing.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I want to do a change for the cocktail party
- 35:58Speaker 2: before the pre cocktail before the wedding change Getting drunk
- 36:04Speaker 2: before then do a change for the wedding, you know
- 36:08Speaker 2: doing the whole wedding aisle thing and Then change for
- 36:11Speaker 2: the after cocktail party. Then change for the dinner. I
- 36:15Speaker 2: have a question. Then change for the after after party.
- 36:19Speaker 5: What did you think of Teresa from Real Housewives of
- 36:23Speaker 5: New Jersey's hair?
- 36:25Speaker 4: At her wedding. You must have seen it.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I thought the dress, everything was hideous. It was 1975.
- 36:31Speaker 3: I did not like it.
- 36:33Speaker 2: 1980 gone bad.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Well, that's why I'm saying 75 because if you were
- 36:38Speaker 3: doing it in the 80s, it would at least be appropriate. Okay,
- 36:40Speaker 3: that's true. 1975 and they missed the mark. And I
- 36:46Speaker 3: know she wanted to do something that really reminiscent of
- 36:49Speaker 3: her being like the first time marriage, first time wedding.
- 36:53Speaker 3: This is what she, it should have looked like. But
- 36:56Speaker 3: when you're a mature woman and you've got children, relationship,
- 37:02Speaker 3: been to jail, out of jail, you know, you've written books,
- 37:06Speaker 3: some sold, some didn't sell. You've got so much going
- 37:10Speaker 3: on in your life. You have to really embody that
- 37:14Speaker 3: moment and come to the person that you want to
- 37:18Speaker 3: see at the end of you know, that aisle.
- 37:20Speaker 5: But there, here's the thing though. Now you said, yeah,
- 37:23Speaker 5: but again, it's your day. And if you want to have,
- 37:27Speaker 5: you know, a dress that like, I mean, I remember
- 37:30Speaker 5: my mom when she was getting married, I was like,
- 37:32Speaker 5: did her wedding photos.
- 37:33Speaker 4: And I'm like, can't believe it. She had a beautiful dress,
- 37:35Speaker 4: but I was like, why are you wearing? It was
- 37:38Speaker 4: off the shoulder and, and like a sheath. It was 1960.
- 37:40Speaker 4: And I'm like, why are you wearing a short dress?
- 37:43Speaker 4: And she said, well, I was 24 and I felt like,
- 37:46Speaker 4: a long dress was for a teen bride.
- 37:48Speaker 5: That's the way she felt in 1960. That she was
- 37:51Speaker 5: already kind of old to be wearing.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Okay, that makes sense. Yeah, but what I didn't understand
- 37:56Speaker 2: is I thought Teresa had better taste.
- 37:58Speaker 4: I really did.
- 37:59Speaker 5: So I met them and Louis goes right away, you're
- 38:02Speaker 5: a comedian, come on, what did you think of her hair.
- 38:06Speaker 4: At the wedding?
- 38:06Speaker 3: Did you like it?
- 38:08Speaker 4: I said, I kind of did a similar thing for
- 38:10Speaker 4: my wedding. Not as big. But you did it for
- 38:13Speaker 4: your wedding then. 23 years ago.
- 38:14Speaker 2: 23 years ago.
- 38:16Speaker 4: I did a little, like, you know, the little, what
- 38:18Speaker 4: do you call it, tiara. Yeah.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:20Speaker 4: And I always liked, like, I always did, like, a
- 38:22Speaker 4: back bump it at the time.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Cute.
- 38:24Speaker 4: So I had them do, like, almost like.
- 38:26Speaker 3: A little chignon at the top.
- 38:28Speaker 4: And it was all my own hair, but it was, like,
- 38:29Speaker 4: kind of, like.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Twist?
- 38:31Speaker 4: Yes, it was, like, twisted and stuff. So I had
- 38:33Speaker 4: a mini version of that. So what I said to
- 38:35Speaker 4: her is, like, what I think happened is, I think
- 38:38Speaker 4: you said, I want some height and a crown. Yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 5: And that was probably the only instruction you gave. And
- 38:43Speaker 5: by the time it was... it was time to go out,
- 38:47Speaker 5: because I know she even started a little bit late.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Being that it was a big wedding there.
- 38:50Speaker 4: There were no mirrors around? No, but I think at
- 38:53Speaker 4: that time, you can't change it.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Her phone has a mirror. Hello, look at yourself.
- 38:57Speaker 5: But anyway, I said, I think that you couldn't change it.
- 38:59Speaker 5: It was probably heavy, and she's like, she's like, totally.
- 39:03Speaker 2: But did you like her dress?
- 39:05Speaker 4: I thought the dress looked pretty. It was strapless, right?
- 39:07Speaker 2: It was extrapless and full. Yeah, but I just felt
- 39:08Speaker 2: she could do better. She's worn better dresses to the reunion.
- 39:12Speaker 4: I did think her girls....
- 39:14Speaker 5: And their dresses were stunning and their bodies. And like,
- 39:17Speaker 5: I just thought all of her daughters looked amazing.
- 39:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree with that. Like a rose and it
- 39:20Speaker 4: was like fitted. It was a little different.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 4: But anyway, let's get let's get to, let's get to,
- 39:25Speaker 4: let's move on. Anna Nicole Smith was your very, very
- 39:29Speaker 4: good friend.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 39:30Speaker 5: May 16th, her show on Netflix drops a documentary about
- 39:35Speaker 5: Anna Nicole Smith really quickly for people that might be
- 39:39Speaker 5: listening to them. Like remind me, she was, had an
- 39:43Speaker 5: absolutely perfect face, stunning face. And she, captured everybody when
- 39:48Speaker 5: she was really the guest model.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 39:52Speaker 4: And she was more voluptuous than what we had seen
- 39:55Speaker 4: at that time. Big boobs, a little curvy.
- 39:58Speaker 2: But Playboy, too. Everyone knew her from Playboy.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Was she in Playboy before? She was in Playboy before guest.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Before guest, yeah.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Okay, before guest.
- 40:05Speaker 2: And she was on Playboy cover of the magazine. She
- 40:09Speaker 2: almost has the record more than any of the other playmates.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Pam Anderson. Yeah, I think she's second to Pam, I believe.
- 40:15Speaker 1: And.
- 40:15Speaker 5: And then she really captured everybody's hearts and interests when
- 40:21Speaker 5: in the early days of reality TV, she had her
- 40:24Speaker 5: reality show called Anna Nicole.
- 40:26Speaker 4: It had this iconic opening. Anna, Anna, Anna, Anna, Anna Nicole.
- 40:31Speaker 4: You're so outrageous. And it was drawing. It was like
- 40:33Speaker 4: a little cartoon.
- 40:35Speaker 5: And it was kind of her life after the modeling.
- 40:37Speaker 5: So through the six seasons or whatever that was, we
- 40:41Speaker 5: see her, you know... With her lawyer, Howard, and her son, Daniel.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Drama to reality TV before the Kardashians, before the housewives,
- 40:53Speaker 2: before anybody.
- 40:53Speaker 5: And she's Southern, so she had like real funniness about her.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Yep.
- 40:57Speaker 5: And she was kind of goofy and she definitely enjoyed
- 41:00Speaker 5: cocktails and pills.
- 41:01Speaker 4: And so sometimes she'd be a little more loopy than others. Yeah.
- 41:05Speaker 4: But it was like comedy. I mean, everybody loved it.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Parody.
- 41:10Speaker 4: You know, I think Mad TV did a parody of it.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Like, so.
- 41:14Speaker 4: I mean, you know who I just saw at.
- 41:16Speaker 5: A party was the interior designer guy that was on
- 41:21Speaker 5: that show.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Bobby Trendy.
- 41:22Speaker 4: Yes, I saw Bobby Trendy and he's a realtor now.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw that. He was telling me that.
- 41:27Speaker 3: Robert Trendy.
- 41:28Speaker 5: So tell us how you guys met her because you're
- 41:31Speaker 5: a big part of this.
- 41:32Speaker 4: You wrote a book. You have a screenplay for a
- 41:34Speaker 4: scripted movie coming out. But you are also featured in
- 41:37Speaker 4: this doc.
- 41:38Speaker 2: We are.
- 41:38Speaker 5: So tell us what you can... tell us to make
- 41:41Speaker 5: us even enjoy this documentary more?
- 41:43Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I think that Ursula McFarlane, when
- 41:45Speaker 2: we found out that Ursula McFarlane was the director producer
- 41:49Speaker 2: behind this and Ursula McFarlane was famous for the Harvey
- 41:53Speaker 2: Weinstein documentary for your listeners, juicy scoopers that don't know that.
- 41:58Speaker 2: And we, I knew what type of cinematic, cinematic, just
- 42:02Speaker 2: masterpiece she puts together. And I knew that if anyone
- 42:06Speaker 2: could really delve deep into the crevices of, Anna Nicole's life,
- 42:11Speaker 2: it was Ursula McFarlane. So we met with her a
- 42:13Speaker 2: few times on Zoom several times. Then we sat down
- 42:16Speaker 2: with her in San Diego for brunch. And then we
- 42:19Speaker 2: just really, and then had several meetings and fleshed everything out.
- 42:22Speaker 2: And I really felt she could really tell the untold
- 42:25Speaker 2: story of Anna Nicole that nobody really knows. The movie
- 42:29Speaker 2: is called Anna Nicole Smith, You Don't Know Me. And
- 42:31Speaker 2: as her best friends, Paul and I, it was great
- 42:34Speaker 2: that we were able to tell some things that people
- 42:36Speaker 2: don't really know about Anna.
- 42:39Speaker 4: So, I mean, what did you think of when she
- 42:43Speaker 4: got pregnant? Did you know that it was, what was
- 42:47Speaker 4: the guy's name?
- 42:47Speaker 2: Larry Burkhead.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Did you know it was Larry Burkhead, the photographer that
- 42:51Speaker 5: she briefly dated?
- 42:52Speaker 4: Did you know that he was the father?
- 42:54Speaker 2: Well, Anna used to call Larry, Larry Burkbuck.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Oh.
- 42:57Speaker 2: She could not stand him at all. And anybody that
- 43:01Speaker 2: personally knew Anna, like Paul and I, can tell you
- 43:03Speaker 2: that the last person Anna would ever want to have
- 43:06Speaker 2: raise her child was Larry Burkhead.
- 43:08Speaker 5: Now, did she talk about him like that while they
- 43:10Speaker 5: were sometimes screwy?
- 43:12Speaker 4: Or only after did she.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Call him Birkfuck?
- 43:15Speaker 4: Always.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Through the whole time, she hated him.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Even when she was fucking him, she called him Birkfuck.
- 43:19Speaker 2: She wasn't fucking him.
- 43:22Speaker 4: Well, how'd she get pregnant with him?
- 43:23Speaker 2: Well, you gotta see our movie now, don't you?
- 43:26Speaker 4: Okay.
- 43:27Speaker 3: So, when I first met Anna, I was so taken
- 43:35Speaker 3: back by her beauty and genuine sincerity. I think when
- 43:41Speaker 3: we connected on a different level as humans, not as
- 43:46Speaker 3: a designer and a star or a television personality or
- 43:51Speaker 3: anything like that, I think we were able to have
- 43:54Speaker 3: so many intimate, beautiful moments with each other that a
- 43:57Speaker 3: lot of people don't normally even have with their spouse.
- 44:02Speaker 3: And knowing all of that, and I would see people
- 44:05Speaker 3: come in and out of her life and I was
- 44:08Speaker 3: always a constant and he did a whole you know
- 44:13Speaker 3: thing where they would start highlighting me all the places
- 44:16Speaker 3: I am where like oh he was.
- 44:17Speaker 2: There too oh he was there too oh.
- 44:20Speaker 3: He was there too oh we missed him there too
- 44:23Speaker 3: yeah so I was there the whole time but it
- 44:25Speaker 3: was about her and I feel like when she told
- 44:30Speaker 3: us that she was pregnant she wanted to she knew
- 44:33Speaker 3: I wanted to have a baby and she wanted to
- 44:36Speaker 3: give me a baby But then she goes, but you're
- 44:38Speaker 3: not blonde.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Because, you know, she had very specific, you know. And
- 44:43Speaker 3: I'm like, well, you know what? I don't know if
- 44:45Speaker 3: I want to have a baby with my friend because
- 44:48Speaker 3: I don't come from that.
- 44:49Speaker 5: So you thought about having a baby together.
- 44:52Speaker 3: But then I don't come from that arena. I want
- 44:54Speaker 3: to be married. I want to be with my loved one.
- 44:57Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 44:57Speaker 3: Yeah. As unconventional as my relationship was always going to be.
- 45:02Speaker 3: And then when Patrick was in our life, obviously.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I have to say thank you,
- 45:07Speaker 2: Anna Nicole, because you approved of me. Because if she
- 45:10Speaker 2: never lied to me, I wouldn't be sitting in this
- 45:12Speaker 2: chair today.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Well, because I had to introduce him to all my
- 45:15Speaker 3: friends before.
- 45:16Speaker 4: Well, then you're blonde and blue-eyed. Did she want to
- 45:18Speaker 4: have your baby?
- 45:19Speaker 2: She asked me to put my name on the birth
- 45:21Speaker 2: certificate of Danny Lynn in the Bahamas. And I thought
- 45:24Speaker 2: I was putting my name on the birth certificate. And
- 45:26Speaker 2: then Howard Stern went on to Larry King Live. and said,
- 45:30Speaker 2: I'm the father, my name's on the birth certificate, and
- 45:32Speaker 2: I was blown away, did not know that. Because the
- 45:35Speaker 2: plan was, with Anna, that I was going to put
- 45:37Speaker 2: my name on it. And we always knew... Because she said,
- 45:39Speaker 2: you're blonde, you're blue-eyed, no one will know.
- 45:41Speaker 3: See, we always knew that Larry was the sperm donor.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Correct. That's what Anna used to call him, Larry Birkbach,
- 45:48Speaker 2: the sperm donor.
- 45:49Speaker 4: But we never.
- 45:50Speaker 3: But she did not want him.
- 45:52Speaker 4: To co-parent with him.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Correct.
- 45:54Speaker 3: To raise the child.
- 45:55Speaker 6: It was.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Danny Lynn... is Anna Nicole's baby, not anybody else's. So
- 46:03Speaker 3: it's not one of those relationships where you have two
- 46:07Speaker 3: parents dating couples, an accident, one wanted to have a baby,
- 46:13Speaker 3: the other one didn't, one got locked up, the other
- 46:16Speaker 3: one's raising it. No, this was always intended for Anna Nicole.
- 46:21Speaker 3: She wanted to have a little baby. She loved Daniel
- 46:25Speaker 3: so much, she could not... And she wanted to, you know,
- 46:31Speaker 3: expand her family.
- 46:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:34Speaker 3: And she did such an amazing job with Daniel. I
- 46:37Speaker 3: was always, I mean, I used to always tell her,
- 46:39Speaker 3: I'm like, he's going to end up being a rocket scientist.
- 46:41Speaker 3: What are you doing? How are you managing this?
- 46:44Speaker 2: You know?
- 46:45Speaker 4: Yeah. He was featured on the show. Were you guys
- 46:47Speaker 4: featured on the show?
- 46:47Speaker 2: We were. Yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Well, we were, we were with her the whole time.
- 46:51Speaker 3: I was with her the whole, I can't really, I
- 46:52Speaker 3: don't remember.
- 46:53Speaker 2: The episode when the, they went to the boutique in
- 46:56Speaker 2: Beverly Hills. They got all the couture gowns and they went,
- 46:59Speaker 2: they were mud wrestling in the gowns. Those were Paul's gowns.
- 47:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:02Speaker 2: They filmed at the boutique. That was in the very
- 47:04Speaker 2: first season.
- 47:04Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I just kind of remember just
- 47:06Speaker 5: seeing the house and like, yeah. And that Bobby Trenny
- 47:09Speaker 5: with the, Like the canopy beds that were just, you know,
- 47:13Speaker 5: not my taste.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Tacky.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Yeah. And then, of course, we got, okay, so then
- 47:19Speaker 4: what also happened, the biggest part, is that she married,
- 47:22Speaker 4: what is the rich guy's name?
- 47:23Speaker 2: Jay Howard Marshall.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Jay Howard Marshall.
- 47:25Speaker 5: She married Jay Howard Marshall, who she met originally many
- 47:29Speaker 5: years ago when she was a stripper. And they get
- 47:31Speaker 5: married and he's, you know, very frail, very, very old.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Yep.
- 47:36Speaker 4: How, was he like already 90 when she married him?
- 47:39Speaker 2: 89.
- 47:39Speaker 4: 89. 89. And so she's married. That's it.
- 47:44Speaker 3: She's so in love.
- 47:45Speaker 2: But I'm going to tell you, Anna sat with me
- 47:48Speaker 2: on the bed in the Bahamas. And she said to me,
- 47:51Speaker 2: Howard is the only one I ever loved. And we
- 47:56Speaker 2: had the conversation about it. And I said, Anna, but
- 47:58Speaker 2: everyone always says that he was old in his 80s.
- 48:02Speaker 2: And she said, he's the only one that truly unconditionally
- 48:05Speaker 2: loved me and understood me.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Well, I think that there can be that.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Sure.
- 48:11Speaker 5: Like, I think that out of the men in her life, yes,
- 48:14Speaker 5: clearly that is the person that she knew loved her.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Right. She loved him. Was it sexual, you know, or
- 48:21Speaker 4: a certain kind of sexual because of his health? I
- 48:24Speaker 4: think when you're saying— Maybe it wasn't at all.
- 48:26Speaker 5: But still, it doesn't mean that there wasn't, like, a
- 48:28Speaker 5: love there and an unconventional marriage, but a marriage.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Well, I can tell you, I had phone sex with
- 48:35Speaker 2: Anna Nicole, so I'm sure it was sexual somehow. I think.
- 48:39Speaker 2: If not physical, there was definitely that there. I think
- 48:42Speaker 2: what you're misinterpreting.
- 48:42Speaker 3: And why were you having phone sex with her?
- 48:44Speaker 4: Just for fun?
- 48:44Speaker 2: No, because she called me and she called him. She
- 48:47Speaker 2: was talking to him on the phone and we're driving
- 48:49Speaker 2: in LA and he picked up the phone to her
- 48:51Speaker 2: and she's in the Bahamas. I picked up the phone.
- 48:54Speaker 3: She's moaning. She's groaning. There's a whole stuff going on.
- 48:58Speaker 3: At first I thought- And are you OK? Like, do
- 49:01Speaker 3: I have to, like, come up to the house right now? Like,
- 49:03Speaker 3: what's going on? And she goes, no, baby. And all
- 49:08Speaker 3: this stuff. I go, oh, OK, hold on one second.
- 49:10Speaker 3: I go, babe, it's for you.
- 49:12Speaker 2: So I answer the phone. I get on the phone.
- 49:14Speaker 2: I'm like, I didn't know it was Anna at the time.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I get on the phone. I'm like, hello? Hi, baby.
- 49:19Speaker 2: I have my hand. in my pussy. Stop it!
- 49:22Speaker 4: You can say that.
- 49:24Speaker 2: I can or can't?
- 49:25Speaker 4: You can.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Oh, okay. I have my hand in my pussy and
- 49:29Speaker 2: I need you to get me off.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Shut up.
- 49:31Speaker 4: So then you just talked dirty.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I did.
- 49:34Speaker 3: All the way to the airport to LAX.
- 49:36Speaker 4: I got distracted.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Talking dirty to her. Like, yeah, big time. And then she.
- 49:41Speaker 4: That's a good friend.
- 49:42Speaker 3: I guess it's a threesome at this point. I was
- 49:44Speaker 3: in the car, too.
- 49:45Speaker 2: She had an orgasm. She was excited.
- 49:47Speaker 4: Like, we.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:48Speaker 3: This was at 7.30 in the morning.
- 49:50Speaker 4: Now, were you worried about the... You know, then she
- 49:53Speaker 4: was a spokesperson for Trim Spa. Yes. Which is no
- 49:56Speaker 4: longer available.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Right. I don't... We were on the Trim Spa bus
- 50:00Speaker 3: across country.
- 50:01Speaker 6: Yes.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Oh, and so... But she got all skinny again.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Right. Yeah.
- 50:06Speaker 2: And, you know.
- 50:08Speaker 4: It was the olympic of the time. I think so.
- 50:11Speaker 5: People also wonder, you know, obviously, did that contribute to
- 50:15Speaker 5: possibly her death or not?
- 50:17Speaker 4: I don't want to say allegedly. I don't know. These
- 50:19Speaker 4: were rumors because it was like, you know, where is that?
- 50:24Speaker 3: I'll tell you that when first she went to the Bahamas,
- 50:29Speaker 3: she wanted to get away and have her baby. Her
- 50:32Speaker 3: focus was.
- 50:34Speaker 2: You need to clarify that because she went to the Bahamas,
- 50:37Speaker 2: specifically researched the country to hide and get away from Larry.
- 50:42Speaker 3: That's what I meant.
- 50:43Speaker 2: She went there specifically because he is a monster and
- 50:47Speaker 2: she wanted him away from her daughter.
- 50:49Speaker 3: She knew that if you have a child in the Bahamas,
- 50:54Speaker 3: the mother... is the one that runs and regulates.
- 50:57Speaker 2: And puts the name of the father on the birth certificate.
- 50:59Speaker 3: And whatever name you put on the birth certificate becomes
- 51:06Speaker 3: the father.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 51:08Speaker 3: So when she went to the Bahamas to get away,
- 51:11Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I'm being a little more sensitive maybe in
- 51:14Speaker 3: the way I said it. When she went there, we
- 51:18Speaker 3: were the last people she saw before she went on
- 51:21Speaker 3: the private plane to go. So she's there. We went there.
- 51:27Speaker 3: We saw her. Then Daniel was in LA. When the
- 51:31Speaker 3: baby was born, we were going to be in the
- 51:33Speaker 3: delivery room to have the baby because we're the uncles.
- 51:38Speaker 3: And when we were going to go, we had a
- 51:40Speaker 3: car accident that morning. So we couldn't fly out. So
- 51:44Speaker 3: we had to go the next day. By then we
- 51:46Speaker 3: hear that Daniel has passed away.
- 51:49Speaker 5: And just to let people know, So she had the baby.
- 51:53Speaker 4: He came. Three days later. Met his sister.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Yep.
- 51:56Speaker 4: And you know, when you, when you have a baby,
- 51:58Speaker 4: there's that chair.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Yep.
- 52:00Speaker 4: There.
- 52:01Speaker 5: And he fell asleep in the chair and she's sleeping
- 52:04Speaker 5: and the baby's, you know, in the cradle or whatever.
- 52:06Speaker 5: And she wakes up and he is not waking up,
- 52:11Speaker 5: her son.
- 52:11Speaker 4: And, and he, he mixed something. He mixed something.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Well, he never liked, he didn't like to fly. That
- 52:19Speaker 3: was one of the reasons why he had a hard
- 52:20Speaker 3: time trying.
- 52:21Speaker 4: To go there. So he took some anxiety, something, and
- 52:23Speaker 4: had pills. Correct.
- 52:24Speaker 3: And one of the reasons why we never flew to Nebraska,
- 52:28Speaker 3: we took the bus, is because Daniel didn't like to fly.
- 52:31Speaker 3: So we drove, I mean, we didn't drive it, the driver,
- 52:34Speaker 3: but we went on a big bus to go cross
- 52:37Speaker 3: country to Nebraska, to Camp Kendall, because she wanted to
- 52:42Speaker 3: make sure that Daniel was with us.
- 52:44Speaker 4: And what was in Camp Kendall? That was from spa parents?
- 52:47Speaker 2: No, it was a kids camp. A lot of people
- 52:50Speaker 2: don't know how charitable Anna was. We went to a
- 52:52Speaker 2: kids camp with kids that are infected and affected with
- 52:55Speaker 2: AIDS and HIV. And we volunteered there for a week.
- 52:57Speaker 3: And she actually donated all of it to make sure
- 53:00Speaker 3: that the camp was going to happen. There were over
- 53:01Speaker 3: 200 kids there with nurses, AIDS. It was beautiful.
- 53:06Speaker 2: And that was season two of the Anna Nicole show
- 53:08Speaker 2: called Anna Goes to Camp. And we were on that.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:11Speaker 3: So when he flew there, That was already, you know,
- 53:15Speaker 3: anxiety and stuff like that. So whatever he took didn't
- 53:18Speaker 3: really settle with his system.
- 53:20Speaker 4: And then how shortly after the tragedy of that, then
- 53:23Speaker 4: she passed?
- 53:24Speaker 2: Six months.
- 53:26Speaker 4: Oh, six months. For some reason, I thought it was
- 53:29Speaker 4: like six days later.
- 53:30Speaker 2: No, the baby was born September 7th, I believe.
- 53:34Speaker 3: No, the baby is born.
- 53:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Daniel passes away.
- 53:38Speaker 4: Within days.
- 53:38Speaker 3: We have Daniel's funeral first.
- 53:40Speaker 2: In October.
- 53:41Speaker 3: And then Anna passes away.
- 53:43Speaker 4: But a few months later, though.
- 53:44Speaker 2: February, February.
- 53:45Speaker 3: All within, like, September to February.
- 53:46Speaker 5: For some reason in my brain, I remembered it being, like, literally, like,
- 53:51Speaker 5: five days apart.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah. No, not that close.
- 53:53Speaker 5: So when did, so before she gave birth is when
- 54:00Speaker 5: she had to fight Howard, what's the.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Man she was married to?
- 54:05Speaker 2: Howard J. Marshall.
- 54:06Speaker 4: She had to fight Howard. So Howard J. Marshall passes.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 54:11Speaker 4: And she is the wife.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:13Speaker 4: So she... So was there nothing in his will left
- 54:17Speaker 4: for his heirs? Was it all to go to her?
- 54:20Speaker 3: No, no. See, he was estranged from his family as well.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Okay.
- 54:25Speaker 3: So the kids didn't want him around. Right. J. Howard Marshall.
- 54:29Speaker 3: That's why he was looking elsewhere. So when he got married.
- 54:32Speaker 2: He was.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Free to do whatever he wanted. So she ended up
- 54:35Speaker 3: getting everything. But what they did is they contested it.
- 54:39Speaker 4: So that's what I'm saying.
- 54:40Speaker 5: Because most people, if they get married later in life
- 54:45Speaker 5: to another person, they make sure that, you know, like
- 54:49Speaker 5: if you get married at 25, whatever, I die, you
- 54:52Speaker 5: get everything, you die. But most people with their second
- 54:55Speaker 5: spouse die. will say, okay, I want to make sure
- 54:59Speaker 5: my second spouse is protected. She's not going to leave
- 55:01Speaker 5: this home, that kind of thing. But it also, my
- 55:04Speaker 5: kids from this first marriage get something. But because he
- 55:07Speaker 5: was estranged from them.
- 55:08Speaker 3: I mean, when you're 89 years old, you're not thinking
- 55:12Speaker 3: of it in a legal aspect because a handshake is
- 55:15Speaker 3: enough for you to be able, and your word means something.
- 55:19Speaker 3: It's not an email.
- 55:21Speaker 5: So he passes and And she thinks she's going to
- 55:24Speaker 5: have the funeral and she's going to inherit what she's
- 55:26Speaker 5: meant to inherit. And then the 65-year-old son or whatever
- 55:31Speaker 5: goes after her.
- 55:32Speaker 4: And it's this full court trial.
- 55:33Speaker 2: Correct.
- 55:34Speaker 4: And that's where Howard Stern, the attorney, not the radio personality,
- 55:38Speaker 4: the attorney that's been her attorney. Was he always her
- 55:40Speaker 4: entertainment attorney?
- 55:41Speaker 3: No, no, no. He used to work at a law
- 55:43Speaker 3: firm that she was retaining.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 55:45Speaker 3: But because she needed so much more attention and Howard
- 55:48Speaker 3: loved Anna. Right. he took it upon himself to be
- 55:51Speaker 3: able to do all the other legal stuff and then
- 55:53Speaker 3: had to separate from the firm in order for him
- 55:58Speaker 3: to be able to just take care of it.
- 55:59Speaker 2: And she had an opportunity. I don't know if your
- 56:02Speaker 2: audience probably doesn't know this, but she had an opportunity
- 56:04Speaker 2: when she went to the Supreme Court Before she died
- 56:08Speaker 2: and that when she was first she.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Was wearing the black and she called us.
- 56:11Speaker 2: And she said they're offering me 69 million dollars How
- 56:16Speaker 2: much was it 144 no wasn't no 69 million dollars
- 56:20Speaker 2: because they know listen No, I'm telling you she what
- 56:24Speaker 2: she told us and you remember she told us they're
- 56:25Speaker 2: offering her what? yeah, they're out there offering us they're
- 56:29Speaker 2: offering me 69 million dollars and Howard is saying No,
- 56:34Speaker 2: you have to get 140 million or more. That's where
- 56:38Speaker 2: the 144 million came. And Paul told her, you did
- 56:41Speaker 2: tell her, we both said, take the money. If it's
- 56:44Speaker 2: $ 69 million, are you kidding? And you said, you can
- 56:47Speaker 2: buy an island with that.
- 56:48Speaker 3: I wrote it down because I couldn't believe I said,
- 56:50Speaker 3: how many zeros is in it, Anna? Just like this.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Because I know how I talk.
- 56:55Speaker 3: And she goes, You know, I don't know. I said,
- 56:57Speaker 3: if we don't know how many zeros go inside this,
- 57:00Speaker 3: it's something that you should be grateful for at this
- 57:03Speaker 3: point because you're going to be spending how many more
- 57:05Speaker 3: years to be able to fight something that's never going
- 57:07Speaker 3: to come. You're going to take this money and you're going.
- 57:09Speaker 4: To double it and triple it.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Correct.
- 57:11Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 57:12Speaker 2: But Howard said, no, you have to take at least
- 57:14Speaker 2: 144 million minimum. If they don't offer you that because
- 57:16Speaker 2: they're billionaires, we're walking. And they did. And I real
- 57:24Speaker 2: to this day, I believe the reason that Howard refused
- 57:27Speaker 2: her to take that money is because then he wouldn't
- 57:30Speaker 2: have been representing her anymore. And he probably wouldn't have
- 57:32Speaker 2: been in her life. That's my belief.
- 57:35Speaker 4: So what did it finally settle at?
- 57:37Speaker 2: It never did. Zero. She never got anything.
- 57:40Speaker 3: No, because she died.
- 57:42Speaker 2: Neither did Danny Lynn. Nothing.
- 57:43Speaker 3: No, he died. The son died.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Yes.
- 57:46Speaker 3: Then the mother continued.
- 57:48Speaker 4: Which mother?
- 57:49Speaker 3: Oh, the sister.
- 57:50Speaker 2: The sister continued.
- 57:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 57:53Speaker 3: And she died.
- 57:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 57:55Speaker 3: And so she ended up with nothing.
- 57:57Speaker 4: Correct. So Anna Nicole never got any money from them.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Not one penny.
- 58:02Speaker 4: And how many days in court did she spend? It
- 58:05Speaker 4: seems like that went on and on and on.
- 58:07Speaker 3: It was like two weeks, I think.
- 58:09Speaker 4: And so, but then didn't she marry? No, she never
- 58:14Speaker 4: married Howard Stern. She just. Howard Stern said, I'm the father.
- 58:17Speaker 3: Well, you're talking about the Bahamas. We had a wedding
- 58:22Speaker 3: in the Bahamas, which we did. It was on the
- 58:25Speaker 3: cover of People magazine.
- 58:26Speaker 2: Correct.
- 58:27Speaker 3: I made her a wedding dress then, too.
- 58:29Speaker 2: He made all her dress and I did all the photos.
- 58:32Speaker 3: It was like a sound of music scenario because I
- 58:35Speaker 3: end up at the Bahamas because I have a big
- 58:36Speaker 3: surprise for you. I have to come tomorrow. I'm like, Anna,
- 58:39Speaker 3: I've got clients. I've got to do things. No, you
- 58:41Speaker 3: have to come. You have to be here. I can't
- 58:43Speaker 3: do this without you. I'm like, oh, my God. Okay,
- 58:45Speaker 3: so let's go.
- 58:47Speaker 4: And how did you feel about her marrying Howard Stern?
- 58:50Speaker 3: Well, you know what? Everyone's relationship is different. And if
- 58:53Speaker 3: they wanted to be together in that capacity, then I
- 58:57Speaker 3: was like, great. Then at least Danny Lynn, the baby,
- 59:00Speaker 3: do you know what I mean? We had all these
- 59:02Speaker 3: other considerations to make.
- 59:03Speaker 2: So it was fine.
- 59:04Speaker 4: And do you think that they were sexual, her and
- 59:06Speaker 4: Howard Stern?
- 59:07Speaker 2: They were.
- 59:08Speaker 3: Anna was very sexual.
- 59:09Speaker 2: She was very sexual, yes.
- 59:11Speaker 4: Okay.
- 59:12Speaker 2: They were having sex all the time. Oh, they were?
- 59:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Because she was, he gave her comfort. Yeah. And so
- 59:19Speaker 2: I don't fault him for that.
- 59:20Speaker 4: No.
- 59:20Speaker 2: But no, did she not? She was not in love
- 59:22Speaker 2: with him.
- 59:22Speaker 5: I didn't think they were. I thought it was like
- 59:24Speaker 5: just a weird thing. ruse or cover up to get
- 59:28Speaker 5: rid of Larry Burkhead. I didn't understand the relationship.
- 59:32Speaker 3: They didn't love each other. Larry was only in Anna's
- 59:36Speaker 3: life for one and a half minutes.
- 59:37Speaker 4: Right.
- 59:38Speaker 3: And I'm telling you that exactly. One and a half minutes.
- 59:43Speaker 4: So they get married.
- 59:44Speaker 3: I've known Anna now for almost over 20 some years,
- 59:49Speaker 3: 25 years. So you have to think If Larry was
- 59:54Speaker 3: only there for one and a half minutes, what do
- 59:58Speaker 3: you know about that individual? How many restaurants do you
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: think they went to? How many places did they go
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: to the movies? What's a date? When you go get
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: food for us, that's a date?
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: Not so much.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: So they get married, you go to the wedding. And
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: how long after that?
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: You mean on the wedding on the boat?
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: They get married, yes. After they get married, how shortly
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: after that does she pass then?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: They got married at the beginning of October. We buried
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Daniel at the beginning of October. We had the wedding
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: at the end of October. And then she passes February 8th.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: So just a couple months.
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: And then it's after that that then Larry Burkhead and
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: Howard Stern start fighting over the custody issue.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Of Dan.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: Danny Lin.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: Danny Lin.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: We named Danny Lin.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: We named Danny Lin.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: We came up with the name.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: So as far as.
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: Don't you think.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: I always thought it was a little.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: Odd.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: That you had one child named Daniel. And then a
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: girl named Danny Lin. Like I think that's kind of.
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: I always just thought that was very close.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: In the name.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: That's why.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: That's why we did it.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: She wanted that. Her.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: The baby's name was supposed to be Hannibal Rose.
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: And I don't think anybody.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: Even knows that.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: She did all these paintings of her belly. And Hannibal
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: Rose on it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: So when the baby was going to be Hannibal Rose
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: with all the paintings that we took from L.A. and
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: she was painting this since L.A. We took it to
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: the Bahamas and we decorated an entire room for Hannibal's arrival.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Then when the baby, when Daniel died, she couldn't call
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: her Hannibal Rose.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: Oh, so she changed the name.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: Oh, I never realized that she changed the name kind
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: of in his honor.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: So we were all sitting in the bedroom together and
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: she was in bed and she was crying and just
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: a basket case because she couldn't let go of Daniel.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: And she's like, I don't know how I can even.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: And she was saying, I don't know how I can
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: let Daniel go. And at this point, the baby was
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: called Hannah Bell. She goes, I don't even, I'm not
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: going to use that name. I can't use that name.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: She couldn't call her like.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: She goes, I want to use a name with Daniel's name.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: So we started all calling me, Paul, Dr.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: Chris.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: We're all in the room and we were all calling
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: out names. I said, why don't we name her Daniela?
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Because I had a girlfriend in high school, believe it
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: or not, when I was straight, named Daniela. And Lynn
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: was Vicky Lynn, Anna's middle name. And our daughter's middle
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: name too was Lynn. And then I said, Hope, Hope
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: for the future. Let's call her Daniela Lynn Hope. And
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Anna looks and she says, I like that. And then
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: what did she say? Let's call her... Let's do Danny Lynn.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Danny Lynn Hope Marshall Stern.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: That's what she said to us. That's how the baby's name...
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: I mean, it was a couple of hours. We wrote
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: things down.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: I have a whole bunch of names written down.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: You know, we were just hanging out. It's very intimate.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: And we were trying to comfort her. We're trying to
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: come up with... Of course, we're all cradling the baby.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: The nannies are coming in and out of the room.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: The baby's crying. All the stuff is happening. So the
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: whole scene. And when we came up with the name...
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: there's this something miraculous that happened.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Her face lit up. Her energy changed a little bit.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: She called for the baby immediately for the nurses, for
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: the nannies to bring the baby back into the room.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: She was starting to sing to the baby at two
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: o'clock in the morning. We used to take the baby
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: out on the tennis court and run around and, you know, with.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: All the paparazzi on the other side of the stage
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: taking pictures, snapping.
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: In the Bahamas.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: In the Bahamas. And so, um, She felt like she
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: could start connecting to the baby that way.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: So you were back in L.A. when you got the
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: horrible news. Yes. Yeah.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: And we got the call. And Mo.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Well, we were supposed to be going to Miami.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Oh, for the boat.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I forgot about that. Because we had talked to
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: her the night before. So we're going to Miami to
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: go pick up. The boat.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: She goes, oh, you guys got to come.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: So just meet me in Miami.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: We're going to take the boat.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: We're going to go back to the Bahamas and then
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: you can fly back out.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: It'll be a great weekend.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: That's how crazy it was. She would always just spur
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: the moment, say, oh, and we would drop everything and go.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: But of course she would. But she knew to count
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: on her friend.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: I mean, it's like most of our friends are just
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: as crazy when they call you and we call them
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: the same way. We're like, what are you doing? Let's go.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: But it just seems like a whole harebrained scheme idea
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: that you would never think about.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: So we were supposed to go to Miami. So she
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: calls us and she goes, I fell in the bathtub.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: My head hurt.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: So I don't know if we're going to go tomorrow.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: I may just wait a day and just relax.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: And then we'll go. And you forgot she had a
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: vitamin B shot in her butt that got infected and
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: she had pneumonia.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: And so Dr. Chris had called us, remember, and told
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: us she was giving her an ice bath. Because she
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: had to bring her fever down because she had like
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: 104 fever or something.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: And I told her, I said, go to the hospital.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: What's wrong with you?
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: No, they're going to know me.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: I don't want to do that because everyone's going to
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: ask us. And they're all going to go. And I
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: know that to be true each time something did happen.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: But do you remember the last word she ever said
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: to us on the phone was, and that's why I
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: put it in the front of our book, Portrait of
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: an Icon. The last word she ever said to us
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: on the phone was, Cause we said, okay, we're going
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: to come. We're going to, I love y'all. Kiss, kiss.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Those are the last words she ever said to me.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: So we put it in our book.
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: And then you got the word that what happened?
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: She just, the next morning, a reporter called me. Well,
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: there was so many trucks reporting trucks in front of
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: our boutique at Rodeo. And I'm like, well, this is weird.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: They got there before me. I'm like, I don't know
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: what's going on with these people. I walk into the store. There's,
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: swarm of paparazzi I don't want to call them paparazzi
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: but there are all these people in front of the
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: boutique like going crazy yep the employees in the back
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: they've closed this door the door because they're afraid of
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: what's going on and then.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Reporter calls me because we had done several interviews after
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Daniel died we were on ET and Insider and all
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: of those so reporter calls me and he goes oh
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: my god do you have any of the information about
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Anna Nicole like the comment do you have a comment
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: about Anna Nicole I'm like what do you mean she
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: just passed out at the basically told the reporters that
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: she just passed out at the um the hard rock
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: hotel and at that point the the media did not
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: know she had died i called mo immediately the bodyguard
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: uh big mo and i'm like mo mo and he
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: answers the phone in tears and i'm like mo what's
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: going on what's going on someone just said anna passed
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: out is she okay he goes no baby girl's gone
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: She's gone. They just declared her gone. And I just
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: started bawling. And I'm like, Mo, what? What? You got
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: to get here. You got to get here. Patrick, you
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: got to get here. I love you, boys. You got
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: to get here. I'm like, what do you mean she's gone?
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: He goes, Anna's dead.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Honestly, in the meantime.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: I broke down.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: There were people rushing in the store.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: And then I called Jim. And that's when they were
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: running in.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Trying to take things. Right.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: They tried to steal her dress off the mannequin. They
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: were running out of the boutique with the drugs.
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: But wait, when you arrive to your store at that
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: time and you see all the reporters, you don't know
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: because you two aren't together.
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: No.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: I was in my office.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: And so how do you find out?
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: How do you find out?
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: I called him immediately and told him.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Because he was at the office, which is around the
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: corner from the boutique. And I just broke down. And
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: next thing you know.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: He dropped the phone. I was telling him he dropped
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: the phone.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: We rushed to LAX, got on the first flight. Because
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: when we went. To Miami.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: We went together.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: You're right. The whole area was barricaded.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Blocked off.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: You can't get in. You can't get out. Everybody was
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: behind these walls. And because it was a reservation, an
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Indian reservation, they had different kind of police. The minute
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: they knew it was us two.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: At the Hard Rock Hotel. Every news reporter was there.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Every truck, everything.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: So they allowed us. to be able to drive because
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: they checked with the front. Our names were there. We're
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: the only ones there.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: And then Dr. Chris came down the elevator and met
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: us and took us upstairs to the hotel room. And
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: we were in the same hotel room that she passed
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: away in.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: So when I went upstairs, I saw Howard. I saw Mo.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: I left him there. And I took another private plane
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: and went to the Bahamas immediately because we got a
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: call saying that the house was being Because.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: They were looting and ransacking the house.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: So I went to the Bahamas like within minutes. Right.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Because on a private, it was just really quick. I
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: get to the Bahamas. The government meets me at the
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: airport with security and police. I go to the house
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: because they know me.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: Because we had security the whole time when we were
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: in the Bahamas. And I try to take the house
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: back over. You did take the house back over.
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: You secured it.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Because they were looting, taking everything. But they had
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: taken so much. U-Hauls were being driven away.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: It was horrific.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: Just random people or what are you talking about?
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: The developers that she was in conflict with over the house.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Because everybody was worried that I'm not going to get paid.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Or what's going to happen. Correct.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: The only thing I remember is walking into the baby's
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: room and just I couldn't even put my head around
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: seeing the devastation of what the house looked like. I
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: had to go then do a police report. There was
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: just so much involved.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: And then he came on a private plane with Howard.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: To the Bahamas.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: You know, hours later. Because I'm like, you guys can't
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: stay there. You guys cannot stay here.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: But I was in her... Eerily, we're in her hotel
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: room in the bed that she was... She had passed
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: away and it was just this weird... It was a little... Like,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: you can't understand the... So.
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: So then... After this, you know, she's put to rest.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: That is when then there's the custody dispute. Yes. Or
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: the biological dad dispute.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Between Howard Stern and.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: Larry Burkett.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: Larry Burkett. And how did that get resolved? They just
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: finally did a DNA test?
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: He finally got a court order to get a DNA
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: and then proved that he was, in fact, the biological father.
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: And.
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: What did he live off of to raise her? Did
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: Anna have much money at that point when she passed?
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: No.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: No, she did not. I think her house was underwater
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: in Studio City, they said. It was.
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: I think. I think.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: And let me tell you why. Because Anna, I love her.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: But if you gave her $ 1, 000, she would spend $ 10, 000.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: She never had the concept of money. Well, she was
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Anna Nicole.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: She had a great, fabulous fashion then.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: It's so true. And she had no concept of spending
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: and what she was spending. If she wanted it, she
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: got it.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: I think Larry's opportunities arise when he realized that he
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: could sell photographs.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Which is what he used to do, unfortunately, before Anna
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: Nicole came. Nobody really bought his photographs to make money,
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: so he had to sleep on people's couches. Therefore, having
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: access to what people wanted, which were photographs of the baby,
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: became a lucrative opportunity. They don't pay you for interviews,
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: they say, and they pay you for pictures.
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: And he took a lot of pictures, held her up,
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: and got money for it. And then realized he couldn't
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: stay in L.A. and went to Kentucky.
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Where he could actually be able to afford something to survive.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: And he was also a big fish in a little
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: pond in Kentucky. That's why he went there.
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I always remember they'd go to the Kentucky Derby
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: and everything.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: And she's really pretty. Now, how old is she now?
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: Like 15?
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: 16.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: 16.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: And I saw something, you know, they would do like
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: a follow-up once in a while. Right. And seeing her stuff.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: Do you have any contact with her?
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: We don't.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: No.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: He doesn't allow anybody that was in Anna's life and
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: in her circle.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: I can tell you one thing. We will after she
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: turns 18.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: She'll find us.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: Because she doesn't know her mother.
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Larry does not know her mother. If Anna Nicole was
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: here today, Larry would have never seen Anna Nicole's baby.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: That is true.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: So if you think that Larry wants to be able
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: to share what her mother was like, he doesn't know.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: He was only in her life for a minute and
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: a half and a sperm donor. So When you have
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: valued relationships that you build throughout the entire span of life,
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: and you have friendships that you build, business relationships that
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: you procure, don't you think that those people know the individual?
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: Wouldn't you want to keep them close so that you
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: can share and create a safe space for a baby
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: to recognize how loved, that person was, how impactful that
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: they were in so many different instances. We've celebrated birthdays.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: We've celebrated holidays. We've celebrated Mother's Day and Father's Day
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: simultaneously together. So he's never done any of those. Just
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: as an example, Thanksgiving. Like there's so many celebrations that
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: we've had.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: That you had with Anna Nicole.
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: Absolutely. Every day. If we didn't speak to each other
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: at least every other day, there was something wrong.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: You remember we had AOL back then. Right. Her screen name,
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: which nobody knows unless it's in our book, but it
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: was Hot Smoochie Lip. And mine was Patrick AZ1 because
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: I had been back and forth from Arizona. And so
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: we would always talk on instant messenger. Yeah.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: See, he doesn't know what my conversations were with Anna.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: But I can tell you one thing. I know every
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: single whisper and syllabus that he always uttered to my
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: best friend.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: And I will tell you that Larry should be very
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: scared of the conversations between us and Hannah regarding Larry.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: Because my friend and I, we shared. Just like every
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: good friend does.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: Well, I'm very excited for people to watch the documentary.
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: And also, I want to talk about your new podcast
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: that you guys are doing.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: It's a fashion podcast.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: Heather, I— And it's really fun, and you do it
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: on YouTube, too, and you do it with your gowns
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: all around you. Oh, my God, yes. And it's called
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: Undressed with Paul and Patrick.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: And obviously, anywhere you guys, you know, get podcasts or
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: if you want to watch it, you can subscribe on
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: YouTube and all of that. And anything else you want
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: to tell people to follow you, tell them now.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: I'm loving doing the podcast.
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: I'm so surprised.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: I never thought I'd love doing it as much as...
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: I like it better than the show.
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: Than doing a reality show.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Than doing the.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: TV show because.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: You do? Yeah, because I get to sit and relax
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: in the show. They make me sew. They make me dress.
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: They make.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: There's so many. They make me dance like a freaking monkey.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: I swear to God. On this one, at least I get...
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: that'll I love.
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: I love the show and where where can people if
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: they are in Beverly Hills or coming to LA sure
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: and they want to come to your store.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: And oh my god so many people do.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: And come visit us and maybe get a dress go
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: to 9414 Dayton Way Beverly Hills and are all.
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: The dresses like custom all custom so there's nothing that
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: you can get off.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: The rack but it's custom and you put on the
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: rack that you can come in and buy yeah.
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: And is there any but are there any that you
- 1:16:44Speaker 5: could like borrow or only if you're a celebrity?
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Who's asking?
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: Me.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Me. Oh, Heather.
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: Don't you have somebody else more that would fit me?
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: We have a size zero for you, yes? I'm not
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: a zero.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Zero, zero.
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: I'm not a zero.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: They can follow me on Patrick Simpson Instagram. Paul, Paula2 Instagram.

- 1:17:32Speaker 3: guests we have.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Coming on our radio. Prime Video, Roku, Tubi. Four seasons.
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: And now you're going now to film another season.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, we're doing a hybrid break-off season called Gown and
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: Out in Beverly Hills. Dubai, bitches.
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: And now we're doing a whole season of just Dubai.
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: Okay, and you're going off to go do that. Okay,
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: that is great.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: You see what I mean?
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: That's what I'm talking about. See, the podcast, I sit down.
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: The other one, I got to fly across the freaking continent.

- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Showed the beauty well and yep.

- 1:18:49Speaker 3: yeah and then there's the real Dubai, which you don't
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: want to go through. Right.
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: Because it's the desert.
- 1:18:55Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: It's exactly what you think. Right. You know, the Russian
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: oligarchs have really created a little Monaco. Yeah. It looks
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: like Monaco.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: Dubai is one of the most amazing cities.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, they have everything.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Countries in the world. It's amazing.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: And it's really very friendly.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, they told us that we're going to be
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: shooting a magazine cover. So we're going to be the

- 1:19:16Speaker 2: going to be kind of cool.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: That's great.
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: For the June issue.
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: I can't get married because, you know, bitch stole my wedding,
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: but I can have a magazine company.
