- 1:38Speaker 3: Yea, let's use your our c that put like, all right,
- 1:42Speaker 3: let me get ready.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I should have said something us.
- 1:46Speaker 5: We're not branding sores be here that oar chest. I
- 1:50Speaker 5: know sometimes around here there's a lot of.
- 1:52Speaker 3: But we do this. We do gamble something, we do
- 1:56Speaker 3: be gambled, we do too much. We give away sports lines. Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 3: we kind of.
- 2:00Speaker 4: We don't have like we don't have a conflict of
- 2:04Speaker 4: interest though.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Sure.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Yeah, but I was more talking about the uh. He
- 2:07Speaker 5: never took blame for anything. It was always arms out.
- 2:10Speaker 3: That's true. The other part.
- 2:14Speaker 5: Good morning, Hey, good morning body, Jake Flynn, Landra Luke,
- 2:18Speaker 5: Paul all here with you.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Packed house, packed house packed, couldn't fit another chair in here.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Hey you could. Yeah, yeah, a fire hazard. Yeah, this
- 2:31Speaker 3: room's not as big as it looks on YouTube. What
- 2:35Speaker 3: do you think the maximum occupancy is in this room?
- 2:37Speaker 5: All right, let's find out three, six, let's see ten, twelve.
- 2:43Speaker 3: We should go to have a fire marshall in here
- 2:45Speaker 3: to tell us.
- 2:46Speaker 5: We get twelve. They could sack up six. I think
- 2:50Speaker 5: we could sack up four two right here in the hallway. Yeah,
- 2:54Speaker 5: but you got it. Yeah, that's true. You could fit them.
- 2:56Speaker 5: I mean you can. We can probably fit fifty in
- 2:58Speaker 5: here if we wanted to.
- 3:00Speaker 4: I don't know about.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Real close s. Put on some early two thousands rap
- 3:07Speaker 3: music and it'll be fine. Why why are we gonna
- 3:11Speaker 3: do that?
- 3:11Speaker 6: Because we used to be squeezing in at the bars
- 3:14Speaker 6: back in the day.
- 3:17Speaker 5: I guess that's true, And I guess you didn't really
- 3:19Speaker 5: think anything of it, you know, back then, certainly like
- 3:23Speaker 5: on a Halloween bar night.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Closer.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Yeah, Halloween bar night was like the best place in
- 3:30Speaker 5: the worst place in.
- 3:31Speaker 3: The world, as long as you're next to your best gal.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, I'm sure if I'm saying it's still
- 3:39Speaker 5: still Halloween, it's pretty crazy.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Fun slash miserable night. You went, you went as a weggie.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Did it was an atomic wegie? Yeah, he was.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I'm trying to imagine, like how you pulled that off?
- 3:57Speaker 3: I said, he pulled it off? No, I did. It
- 4:00Speaker 3: was awesome. I might have it was it was.
- 4:03Speaker 6: It was assisted by a little bit of a costume
- 4:07Speaker 6: underwear that was pulled up as a wedgie over head,
- 4:11Speaker 6: over my head and it.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Was on my forehead. Yeah, there was the atomic weggie.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Yeah, that feels like something only you would.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Ladies left thousand costume that they saw somebody else that
- 4:25Speaker 5: night that happened.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Nobody had the atomic weggie. It was a batman, you know,
- 4:30Speaker 3: Chippendale's dancer.
- 4:32Speaker 4: As a lady. I don't think they did it.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah they did. No, for sure, We'll never know.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Is that your best Halloween costume you've ever done?
- 4:49Speaker 5: No.
- 4:49Speaker 3: As a child, I went as a dead ghost.
- 4:52Speaker 4: As opposed to an a live one.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yep. So I was like, I want to be a
- 4:56Speaker 3: dead ghost.
- 4:57Speaker 6: Mom and Dad, I need to get the ghost costume
- 5:00Speaker 6: like sheet kept the holes in it. I'll do all,
- 5:03Speaker 6: do the whole thing, but I also want this prop
- 5:06Speaker 6: bow and arrow that goes through my head, the red blood.
- 5:10Speaker 6: I like it because that makes sense. Yeah, but as
- 5:13Speaker 6: a child it made a lot of sense.
- 5:14Speaker 4: I mean, I still feel like it could make some sense.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Does it? It ghost could get shot.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Like maybe that's how it died, and it's just like
- 5:23Speaker 2: left over, you know what I mean?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Sure, I get that. I can see that now. I
- 5:27Speaker 3: see that logic. Did you go as Quellman one year? Right? Okay,
- 5:33Speaker 3: I thought, I remember that.
- 5:35Speaker 4: You're like the Heidi Clume of Baton Rouge.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Basically I did a lot of work with underwear. I
- 5:41Speaker 6: guess had underwear. Ulwar had underwear on the outside of
- 5:44Speaker 6: his pants.
- 5:46Speaker 3: It's nothing. I don't know. It was flint with the
- 5:48Speaker 3: old underwear.
- 5:49Speaker 6: I know where I was getting all those whitey tidies from.
- 5:53Speaker 3: It's true you're call them whitey tidies or tidy whities.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Good question.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I think it's just tighty whities, is what the consensus is.
- 6:04Speaker 6: I think so always white ties too. Yeah, it's is
- 6:08Speaker 6: this another Southsia snow coat snowball situation?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yeah? Maybe so, Paul, what do you call them? It's
- 6:15Speaker 3: tighty whities? You tidy whities too? Huh. It does feel
- 6:23Speaker 3: like it's us.
- 6:24Speaker 6: After I said whitey tities said it, I felt like
- 6:27Speaker 6: it might make more sense for tidy whities.
- 6:30Speaker 4: No, it does make more sense for tidy.
- 6:32Speaker 6: Whito always called it whitey tidies.
- 6:38Speaker 4: I mean, you're known for saying things the correct way, so.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Obviously, no doubt that's what people always stop me all
- 6:45Speaker 6: over town. Be like, man, you are always saying things awesome,
- 6:48Speaker 6: You're always on point, never said anything wrong.
- 6:52Speaker 4: All around town, All around town.
- 6:53Speaker 3: People are talking, people are talking.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Or one year we had a huge to bring back
- 7:00Speaker 5: to Halloween. We had a huge because why wouldn't.
- 7:02Speaker 4: You in July quick, I can't wait for robot flop.
- 7:06Speaker 5: July twenty eighth, Shout out nineteen years today, anniversary, Shout
- 7:10Speaker 5: out to that who me nineteen.
- 7:13Speaker 7: Years, nineteen years, let's go sixteen years. Shout out my
- 7:17Speaker 7: sister birthday or anniversary, my little baby sister, the big
- 7:23Speaker 7: twenty one today.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Oh my girls turning twenty one years old.
- 7:29Speaker 5: So just no, they'll they'll brew more beer and round rock.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Just no, they will not.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I don't see the perfect place to go celebrate. That's
- 7:38Speaker 2: where basically we all celebrated our twenty for sure days.
- 7:40Speaker 6: So I'll have like a tradition at the bar. There's
- 7:44Speaker 6: like a traditional celebration.
- 7:45Speaker 2: There's a like a separate room you can rent out,
- 7:48Speaker 2: so we always just have that room to ourselves and
- 7:51Speaker 2: we get like a guy to do an acoustic seting
- 7:54Speaker 2: there and.
- 7:55Speaker 3: No like nasty shot brought out. We love for like
- 7:58Speaker 3: a three wise Man the villa.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yes, we've we've like initiated people. I got initiated with
- 8:04Speaker 2: that or like what is it the four Horsemen or
- 8:06Speaker 2: something like that.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and that.
- 8:09Speaker 2: But the Villa reales love a Vegas bomb, so I'm
- 8:13Speaker 2: sure they're going to be buying her a hell of
- 8:14Speaker 2: Vegas bombs tonight.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Vegas bomb, Vegas bombs. Twenty one, twenty one.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Everybody's talking about wild She was born two thousand and five.
- 8:26Speaker 4: She's twenty.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Happy birthday, Happy anniversary, fantastic.
- 8:29Speaker 4: I was gonna see what the anniversary is like. You
- 8:32Speaker 4: know how there's like silver I.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Know, I know, I was in nineteen and he's kind
- 8:36Speaker 3: of a nasty number. Yeah, you know, like right before
- 8:39Speaker 3: a good one though.
- 8:40Speaker 4: It's bronze. Yeah, bronze, you can find something good.
- 8:44Speaker 3: You could make a bronze statue of Katie. Yeah. Yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 3: eighteen was like Pearl I.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Think was bronze statue.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good, Paul. Anything like what's what cools happening
- 8:56Speaker 3: today for you? Not a whole double duty today? You
- 9:03Speaker 3: got to do the morning show. That's basically the same thing.
- 9:07Speaker 3: That's fun.
- 9:10Speaker 5: I did find a picture of one of the like
- 9:14Speaker 5: Halloween beaut PREI did you.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I did.
- 9:19Speaker 5: It's me T Bob and Dick Dixon. Well, and T
- 9:23Speaker 5: Bob is like a like a gangster. You can tell
- 9:25Speaker 5: he's got like a cigar with a hat suspenders. I'm
- 9:29Speaker 5: in I'm in full like Vegas Elvis and Uh, Dick
- 9:34Speaker 5: Dixon just a Reese's shirt.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I mean, is that not classic Dixon?
- 9:40Speaker 4: You should have dressed up.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I'll have to send it to Uh. I have to
- 9:44Speaker 3: send it to Paul. I was like either.
- 9:46Speaker 5: A gangster or Charlie Chaplin.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Uh.
- 9:56Speaker 6: One of the characters from a clockwork Orange Man, Dick Dixon.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I'm all wear a Reese's shirt. Ladies love this one.
- 10:06Speaker 2: He's like the guy that wears a shirt that's like
- 10:08Speaker 2: this is my Halloween costume.
- 10:10Speaker 6: The question is where are you at? Wonder what I
- 10:12Speaker 6: was that? Mm hmmm, probably something with whitey tidies.
- 10:20Speaker 4: You were Captain underpants, just straight up that would have
- 10:22Speaker 4: been a thing.
- 10:23Speaker 3: He absolutely would have been.
- 10:24Speaker 4: I feel like it was back then. I think I
- 10:27Speaker 4: was reading it like an element years ago.
- 10:30Speaker 5: You could you could be right, And I need you
- 10:32Speaker 5: to chill with that elementary school yeah, relaxed.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I mean when you're in college. I was in elementary school.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Yeah, we get it. We get it.
- 10:40Speaker 6: We may find a way to get that picture shown.
- 10:43Speaker 6: We have that technology. Yes, I'll send it to Paul. Paul,
- 10:46Speaker 6: get it done. I don't even know how I would
- 10:50Speaker 6: find that, like dig back in the Facebook.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Archive, you know how I get my MySpace.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Long, you know how like funny enough, you know how
- 10:57Speaker 5: I found it was because like the iPhone will, but
- 11:00Speaker 5: if you have a lot of pictures with someone, it
- 11:02Speaker 5: will put them like in a profile of their face
- 11:04Speaker 5: and your thing, well tea, Bob and I had a
- 11:06Speaker 5: ton of pictures from doing the show together.
- 11:09Speaker 3: But it also what.
- 11:10Speaker 5: It did is it brought back like all the college
- 11:13Speaker 5: pictures that I had saved or you know, I've had this.
- 11:17Speaker 5: You know how you had the iPhone, then you had
- 11:19Speaker 5: the pictures forever. So I've got him dressed up as
- 11:21Speaker 5: mister kool aid man. I've got a lot, got a
- 11:24Speaker 5: lot of tea Bob and so like, that's how that's
- 11:28Speaker 5: how I happened. It wasn't because I found it.
- 11:32Speaker 3: You didn't have it. I went on your background. Maybe
- 11:35Speaker 3: more time.
- 11:36Speaker 5: It might have been the profile picture at one time,
- 11:43Speaker 5: probably the last time I shaved with the Razor.
- 11:48Speaker 6: Speaking of I wonder how mister Razor's doing. I mean,
- 11:53Speaker 6: it's Taylor gonna take off the whole year.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I think just two weeks.
- 11:57Speaker 5: All these people almost have a short I think I took.
- 12:06Speaker 5: I took half a show because temmy why I hit
- 12:09Speaker 5: the walk off home run after Harlowe was born. So
- 12:13Speaker 5: I came in at the back half of that show
- 12:15Speaker 5: because I had to just yell like an idiot, that's
- 12:18Speaker 5: a that's like the next show off. And I came
- 12:20Speaker 5: back to one following because it was like that timing
- 12:24Speaker 5: and being a host.
- 12:26Speaker 3: She was about to play for national championship against.
- 12:30Speaker 5: So it's like, yeah, I can't take two weeks, you know,
- 12:34Speaker 5: And Katie was telling me like go.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Like you need to go.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah, well, Taylor is not as valuable as you are,
- 12:41Speaker 2: so it's fine if you take I'm sorry.
- 12:46Speaker 3: First child, first child, that's yeah, first child.
- 12:50Speaker 5: We had Jackson on a Wednesday, or Thursday, like in
- 12:54Speaker 5: the wee hours and we had to leave on Saturday
- 13:00Speaker 5: because we played Oakland on Monday night.
- 13:03Speaker 6: Wow, yeah that didn't count because you're you're a football player.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I had to learn.
- 13:10Speaker 6: It took me a couple of years after get done
- 13:12Speaker 6: playing about all the fall holidays pop up. Yeah, like, oh,
- 13:17Speaker 6: what's this? What's this little labor day thing? Y'all do labor?
- 13:21Speaker 6: Like we just get off? Yeah huh, never had one
- 13:25Speaker 6: of these?
- 13:27Speaker 3: Well you never had a Thanksgiving really either?
- 13:30Speaker 6: No, I mean we had the food at the facility,
- 13:33Speaker 6: at the facility or at that random building on LSU's
- 13:36Speaker 6: campus with the glass windows.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Couldn't get there right now?
- 13:39Speaker 8: Now?
- 13:39Speaker 6: Well I could. I could get I could get dangerously close.
- 13:43Speaker 6: I could probably find it, not right now because it's
- 13:45Speaker 6: too hot. I'd be searching a little bit. Yeah, like
- 13:47Speaker 6: in the fall, though, I could find it.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Chris Bear, I'm trying to think how many years, like
- 13:53Speaker 5: speaking of like today being anniversary, like how many years
- 13:57Speaker 5: we were into our marriage before spent like Thanksgiving or Christmas,
- 14:03Speaker 5: like truly like with right family, not like hey, guys,
- 14:09Speaker 5: you can wake up Christmas morning with your kids. Open
- 14:12Speaker 5: presence team meeting at.
- 14:14Speaker 3: The year after you were done.
- 14:18Speaker 6: I've had multiple years, I believe for sure one year
- 14:22Speaker 6: where we had a game on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New
- 14:26Speaker 6: Year's Day for.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Sure, and then usually we always had it, but never
- 14:30Speaker 5: at home. Yeah, usually we didn't have all three. We'd
- 14:33Speaker 5: have at least one or two that fell in that day.
- 14:36Speaker 3: One of the like the times that I remember being
- 14:39Speaker 3: kind of sad about.
- 14:40Speaker 5: It, we played either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, but
- 14:44Speaker 5: it was a night game, so primetime game against the
- 14:46Speaker 5: Bengals in Cincinnati, and I'm in a hotel spending like
- 14:50Speaker 5: the holidays in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- 14:55Speaker 3: That's ugly. We do it. That's gross. That's what do
- 14:59Speaker 3: we do it? Well? Are we playing today? What it's like?
- 15:03Speaker 3: People that would play at Lambeau on Christmas? They spent Christmas?
- 15:07Speaker 6: Even Appleton, Wisconsin, Mettle Spot, but probably not where people.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Want to spend their Christmas Eve. Yeah, grown grown ass man. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 3: there's that Dave and Busters in Green Bay.
- 15:21Speaker 6: Though, I got that one. I have have you why
- 15:27Speaker 6: for the draft? Why were you a David Busters? Was
- 15:29Speaker 6: it the draft that was there? We did content.
- 15:32Speaker 5: We had two shows that were there, and so we
- 15:34Speaker 5: did a Dave and Buster's Challenge.
- 15:37Speaker 3: We had six games they picked out and see what
- 15:40Speaker 3: show won. We won.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Them, crushed it, ax throwing, We got our butts kicked.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Chris Budden. She's related to Paul Bunyan somewhere down the line,
- 15:54Speaker 5: because God, she's sticking every one of them. Yes, couldn't
- 16:00Speaker 5: do it.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I'll let you know by experience.
- 16:01Speaker 6: If you're if you find yourself in an arcade trying
- 16:03Speaker 6: to get as many tickets as you can and you
- 16:06Speaker 6: play ski ball, don't fall for it. Don't go for
- 16:09Speaker 6: the corner, don't go for the corn the five thousand
- 16:12Speaker 6: up top. Just go for the center of the middle.
- 16:15Speaker 3: You get it.
- 16:16Speaker 6: You get yourself in trouble if you go for the
- 16:17Speaker 6: top corners. So it's kind of like a checkdown. Yeah,
- 16:20Speaker 6: take your checkdowns, be consistent, take the numbers.
- 16:24Speaker 5: I could be getting this wrong, but I think it
- 16:25Speaker 5: was Brad Johnson quarterback that's said you can never go
- 16:31Speaker 5: broke when you're always making a profit.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Talking about hitting the checkdown.
- 16:35Speaker 6: No doubt, and you're making profit, I mean, you're getting
- 16:38Speaker 6: tickets on tickets on tickets, and my god, you're gonna
- 16:40Speaker 6: get it by the end of the day. You're gonna
- 16:42Speaker 6: have as many Chinese finger traps as you want.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Do you think the sticky do y'all think that sticky
- 16:49Speaker 5: hands as you want? That Chinese finger trap was ever
- 16:52Speaker 5: utilized by me?
- 16:53Speaker 2: Zero per chances tucking it every single time.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't even I couldn't even begin. But Skei
- 16:59Speaker 3: ball is a good less and for life. Just want
- 17:01Speaker 3: you to know that.
- 17:02Speaker 4: So don't aim big, aim.
- 17:04Speaker 6: Small, or be consistent. Be consistent, don't do it. Don't
- 17:08Speaker 6: think things that are unrealistic. I don't know.
- 17:11Speaker 3: So don't reach for the stars.
- 17:14Speaker 4: But they say that you'll fall among the Yeah, stars
- 17:17Speaker 4: or something.
- 17:17Speaker 3: I don't reach for the If you reach for the moon,
- 17:21Speaker 3: you'll stars there. We think we found it. What in
- 17:26Speaker 3: the hobby loved?
- 17:26Speaker 4: I just said, live leaflove.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Of course we got to finish this dance like no
- 17:32Speaker 3: one's watching. English cow. Yeah, scott Scottish English, English cow.
- 17:39Speaker 4: The Scotts would hate that. You just said that.
- 17:40Speaker 3: British. Okay, British cow.
- 17:42Speaker 5: There you go, Scottish. Still you can say British cows Scotland.
- 17:46Speaker 5: You can say a Kingdom cow. Those would have been right,
- 17:52Speaker 5: but you're wrong all right. Today Saints report for training.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Camp I think thirty two teams in the NFL be
- 18:02Speaker 6: reported to training camp by the end of the day
- 18:04Speaker 6: to day.
- 18:04Speaker 3: They will be. But you know, we kind of care
- 18:06Speaker 3: about one here on this show. Not I don't know, Okay, we.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Care about before them one, You're right, But we talk
- 18:15Speaker 6: about one more than others. We can talk some training camp,
- 18:19Speaker 6: talk about our memories of what it is, what it's
- 18:22Speaker 6: supposed to.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Be, what you want to get done out of training camp.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I get some of that feeling as well.
- 18:29Speaker 5: But we'll talk about it and we'll start that when
- 18:31Speaker 5: we come back.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Here on OTV.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Off the bench, all right, go to Russell Pools dot
- 18:37Speaker 5: com the website for Russell pool Company. Now you know,
- 18:40Speaker 5: they can build your dream pool in your backyard. They've
- 18:43Speaker 5: been doing it since the nineteen sixties here in South Louisiana.
- 18:46Speaker 5: But one of the things that we want to make
- 18:47Speaker 5: sure that you know actually is a couple of things.
- 18:49Speaker 3: All right.
- 18:50Speaker 5: So the first thing is that they're gonna be there
- 18:52Speaker 5: for you before the process, during the process, and after
- 18:56Speaker 5: the process. What do I mean by that, Well, they're
- 18:58Speaker 5: gonna draw your pull out, they're gonna build your pull
- 19:00Speaker 5: but they also are going to be the maintenance for
- 19:02Speaker 5: your pool. That's why they're going to be there after
- 19:04Speaker 5: the fact. Okay, the second part of it is if
- 19:07Speaker 5: you bought a house that had an existing pool, or
- 19:10Speaker 5: you just don't like where your pool's at right now,
- 19:13Speaker 5: you can actually add to your pool.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Russell Pools can come in. I'm not talking about replastering.
- 19:17Speaker 5: I'm talking about adding bells, adding whistles to your existing
- 19:21Speaker 5: pool to spice it up.
- 19:22Speaker 3: They can do that at Russell Pools dot Com.
- 19:23Speaker 6: Sorry, the best in the business, the name you think
- 19:25Speaker 6: of when you think of the best custom pools in
- 19:27Speaker 6: all of Louisiana. They can do a two landscape architects
- 19:30Speaker 6: right there on staff. Take your dream to reality if
- 19:32Speaker 6: you're doing cannonballs in no time. Russell Pools dot Com.

- 20:02Speaker 1: sentenced by Community Steel.

- 20:16Speaker 8: little in the slang and John Hell.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Stay now?
- 20:24Speaker 3: Tell me? Do you everything on? All right? Welcome back
- 20:34Speaker 3: in O TV.
- 20:37Speaker 5: They're live from the Raising Kine Studio and of course
- 20:39Speaker 5: every single Tuesday show to see the gold Panels behind us.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Brought to you by Community Still Community stell Co dot com,
- 20:48Speaker 5: Louisiana still throughout the surrounding areas, buildings, sheeting components, community,
- 20:54Speaker 5: steel code dot com is the website.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Go there today, women, all right today report day, training
- 21:04Speaker 3: camp day. It's one of those days.
- 21:08Speaker 5: I'm not gonna sit up here and tell you it
- 21:11Speaker 5: was my favorite day because you gotta leave your family.
- 21:14Speaker 5: You kind of know that, Well, everything's over and you
- 21:18Speaker 5: got to start. You're in the arena now and everything's
- 21:21Speaker 5: got to get callous, and you got a whole process
- 21:23Speaker 5: of doing it. Once you get there, you get around
- 21:25Speaker 5: the boys, you get around the fellas, you have late
- 21:27Speaker 5: night snack. That first night you're telling old stories. You know,
- 21:31Speaker 5: it gets a little bit better. It's a grind, it
- 21:33Speaker 5: is what it is. But that's where you get ready
- 21:36Speaker 5: for the season.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:38Speaker 5: It's also where if you're contemplating, am I done? Is
- 21:41Speaker 5: my career coming to an end? Training camp will decide
- 21:44Speaker 5: that for you.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I know it. I know it did for me. Oh
- 21:48Speaker 3: you want me to go to Greenbrier in West Virginia.
- 21:51Speaker 5: I think I'm saying truth for it. I think I'm
- 21:53Speaker 5: gonna stay right here and I wish I'll luck this season.
- 21:57Speaker 5: But you know, for these teams that are going to
- 21:59Speaker 5: report it. The great thing, my favorite part of the NFL,
- 22:04Speaker 5: outside of the high quality of play, is that.
- 22:06Speaker 3: All thirty two teams believe it or not, think they
- 22:11Speaker 3: have a chance.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Because the NFL has a set of rules that is
- 22:14Speaker 5: made for every team to have the same everything, same
- 22:19Speaker 5: amount of money to spend, same draft choices, you name it.
- 22:25Speaker 5: It's supposed to be an even playing field. And there's
- 22:29Speaker 5: somebody those rules rules. They stay by those rules too.
- 22:35Speaker 5: They don't go to courts.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Today.
- 22:38Speaker 5: There's gonna be you know, pick your team that didn't
- 22:41Speaker 5: make the playoffs last year that was picking in the
- 22:43Speaker 5: top ten. Hell, we can say the Saints, their coach
- 22:47Speaker 5: is gonna say, hey, the Patriots two years ago, they
- 22:51Speaker 5: were picking number five.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Last year they made the super Bowl.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Like those stories get preached all the time during training camp,
- 23:00Speaker 5: and it's.
- 23:03Speaker 3: It would be a good compliment they had.
- 23:06Speaker 6: They picked number five their first round pick, quarterback in
- 23:11Speaker 6: the second year, and Tyler Shuck in a second year.
- 23:14Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, there's gonna be those similarities that are
- 23:17Speaker 6: everybody should I mean, unless your organization is not run correctly,
- 23:21Speaker 6: you should have I mean at least a glimmer of
- 23:23Speaker 6: hope if something happening.
- 23:24Speaker 3: So you're saying Cleveland's not talking about.
- 23:26Speaker 6: That today, Miami is not. Yeah, Miami's a little different now.
- 23:30Speaker 6: Maybe even Arizona they're like, all right, we got this
- 23:32Speaker 6: quarterback situation out of the way. Like, I don't you know,
- 23:35Speaker 6: I don't think Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald are gonna
- 23:37Speaker 6: play great together. I don't think they'll have a good chemistry.
- 23:41Speaker 6: I think we're gonna be all right.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, Seattle's just diggna fall apart. Yeah, that one
- 23:47Speaker 3: lucky year.
- 23:49Speaker 5: But it is one of the cool things about the
- 23:50Speaker 5: NFL because it's not like college football. Like college football here,
- 23:53Speaker 5: in a couple of weeks, Middle Tennessee State's going to
- 23:56Speaker 5: report to camp and they're not gonna have those conversations. Sure, right,
- 24:00Speaker 5: the majority old dominion's not gonna have those conversations. But
- 24:04Speaker 5: for the NFL, it's gonna happen across the league today.
- 24:07Speaker 5: And you know, there's there's too much proof that every
- 24:11Speaker 5: single year of the playoffs just changed so much with teams,
- 24:14Speaker 5: and you're gonna have a brand new wave of teams
- 24:16Speaker 5: that's gonna make the postseason. So we bring all that
- 24:18Speaker 5: up to say, I don't hate where the Saints are
- 24:23Speaker 5: right now. Carolina's got a lot of injuries going on
- 24:26Speaker 5: right now. They're gonna have to elevate younger players faster
- 24:29Speaker 5: than they wanted to. We talked about the Atlanta Falcons yesterday.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Now Atlanta's got some weapons. They got b Jean Robinson,
- 24:36Speaker 5: they got Cayle Pissed, they got Drake London. But who's
- 24:38Speaker 5: gonna get them the football consistently to a tongue of
- 24:41Speaker 5: Bai looa heading in his career. Michael Pennick Junior had
- 24:46Speaker 5: to stay healthy in his career. Now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
- 24:49Speaker 5: that's an interesting one. But even them like they've gone
- 24:52Speaker 5: through change. There's no Mike Evans there. Some of them
- 24:54Speaker 5: got Levonte David, guys that have been there for a
- 24:56Speaker 5: long time. Hall of Fame players. Both those guys have
- 24:59Speaker 5: a chain. They're not there. One retired ones in San Francisco.
- 25:03Speaker 5: So they're going to have some change. And I think
- 25:05Speaker 5: the other one's asking for a trade. Which one did
- 25:11Speaker 5: all right? Who I don't know?
- 25:13Speaker 3: He?
- 25:14Speaker 5: Oh wait, you get him back up? Which team in
- 25:19Speaker 5: which position? We're talking about here? You're talking about the
- 25:21Speaker 5: Bucks how that you have some hall of favors not there.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Now they have a defensive lineman Vitay, who's asking for
- 25:27Speaker 5: a trade.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I mean it's like situated. Well you looked at me
- 25:30Speaker 3: that your question.
- 25:31Speaker 5: Because we went through all three teams. I'm like, all right, well,
- 25:33Speaker 5: hold up, who's asking for a little But you.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Also didn't say vita first. Oh it sounded like you
- 25:39Speaker 4: said Veto whispered.
- 25:40Speaker 3: I didn't say Veto. He didn't. He wasn't fully sure,
- 25:43Speaker 3: so he kind of whispered it.
- 25:44Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, when I say a quarterback that said
- 25:48Speaker 5: I want to shut down any talks of a new
- 25:51Speaker 5: contract because the season's here.
- 25:53Speaker 3: So there's a lot going on in the South. And
- 25:56Speaker 3: we talked about it two weeks ago.
- 25:58Speaker 5: The Saints are better a quarterback, running back, offensive line, receiver,
- 26:02Speaker 5: and tighten. And I don't think it's really close at receiver.
- 26:08Speaker 5: A quarterback is the same guy, but we think he's
- 26:10Speaker 5: gonna take a step. You added a thousand yard back
- 26:13Speaker 5: in your backfield, and you sign ak Bag running back.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Check you drafted a tight end in the third round
- 26:19Speaker 5: and you sign a veteran player. Like we could go
- 26:21Speaker 5: down the reasons why, but objectively you're better at every
- 26:25Speaker 5: single position on the offensive side of the football.
- 26:30Speaker 3: It's there for the taking for the New Orleans Saints, Yeah,
- 26:33Speaker 3: it is.
- 26:36Speaker 6: I feel I feel better going into camp if we're
- 26:39Speaker 6: just looking if we isolating the NSC South. I mean,
- 26:43Speaker 6: you know, we are in the Louisiana bubble, of course,
- 26:45Speaker 6: but like I feel better going into camp as a
- 26:49Speaker 6: Saints fan than I think, for sure Carolina, for sure Atlanta,
- 26:55Speaker 6: just because of the quarterback situation there now. Granted too
- 26:58Speaker 6: has looked good in this career. He had twenty twenty
- 27:01Speaker 6: three through over forty six hundred yards like he has
- 27:04Speaker 6: had years. But we've all also seen the injuries and
- 27:10Speaker 6: we also do kind of say, look, the Dolphins have
- 27:13Speaker 6: been in shambles like for a couple of different years,
- 27:16Speaker 6: and so last year it was just it wasn't pretty.
- 27:18Speaker 6: The last couple of years it wasn't pretty in my ear,
- 27:20Speaker 6: But they did have that one year where he has
- 27:22Speaker 6: played good NFL football, throwing for nearly five thousand yards.
- 27:25Speaker 6: So he has it in him right now. I don't
- 27:28Speaker 6: know if it's gotten beaten out of him yet, so well,
- 27:32Speaker 6: that remains me seen. But you know, the only team
- 27:34Speaker 6: that you can make an argument for I think as
- 27:36Speaker 6: far as far as a fan base and the positivity
- 27:38Speaker 6: of where they should be and there their positive like
- 27:40Speaker 6: meter here is is the Bucks. But just because this
- 27:46Speaker 6: recent stability the reason success of the Bucks have had.
- 27:48Speaker 6: But like there's also just like you pointed out, there
- 27:51Speaker 6: are things that you can point out, there are holes
- 27:54Speaker 6: on the team that you can point at. Now the Saints,
- 27:58Speaker 6: It's amazing how the Saints like the positive attitude going
- 28:02Speaker 6: into this training camp. You know, after still not being
- 28:04Speaker 6: good last season, it ended great, It ended really well,
- 28:07Speaker 6: ended on a very positive note, which is you did
- 28:09Speaker 6: exactly what you had to do. But like we say
- 28:11Speaker 6: it all the time, like don't get a twisted, it
- 28:13Speaker 6: still wasn't a good overall NFL football team. So like, uh,
- 28:17Speaker 6: this year, I think that's gonna be different. I think
- 28:19Speaker 6: they are. I think they should be. I don't know
- 28:22Speaker 6: if they are the favorite to make to win the
- 28:24Speaker 6: NFC South, but they should certainly be dangerously close to
- 28:29Speaker 6: the favorite. I'm assuming the betting favorite is gonna be
- 28:31Speaker 6: the Bucks just because of their like recency bias. Probably,
- 28:36Speaker 6: but the quarterback situation, like I would put Chuck Baker
- 28:40Speaker 6: is certainly the best in the in the division. But
- 28:43Speaker 6: Chuck's gonna be you know, He's definitely gonna be second. Yeah,
- 28:47Speaker 6: if I'm choosing, so.
- 28:50Speaker 5: Really don't like if Like I know, it sounds like
- 28:52Speaker 5: we're pumping sunshine into the Saints. But again on offense,
- 28:56Speaker 5: Like you could sit down, you could just have the
- 28:58Speaker 5: conversation of who you've ad on offense and last year
- 29:02Speaker 5: your receiver room I thought was worse than the NFL.
- 29:04Speaker 5: And you go, you select somebody in the top ten,
- 29:07Speaker 5: you select somebody in the fourth round, you select someone
- 29:09Speaker 5: in the sixth round.
- 29:10Speaker 3: You also traded for Polp from New England.
- 29:13Speaker 5: He wasn't healthy. He's going to be healthy. So that's
- 29:16Speaker 5: four better options than you had a year ago. And
- 29:20Speaker 5: then we go to the defensive side. So if we
- 29:22Speaker 5: want to ask some questions and not just again pump
- 29:25Speaker 5: sunshine into the Saints, No, Tomrio Davis, like we got
- 29:29Speaker 5: to point that out. You do have Kaiden Ellis, who
- 29:32Speaker 5: is a different player than to Mario Davis. Like, Kiden
- 29:34Speaker 5: Ellis has some real rush ability. He'll line up, he'll
- 29:37Speaker 5: he'll get down on the edge and he'll rush the quarterback.
- 29:40Speaker 5: He's not just like your Mike linebacker in the middle
- 29:43Speaker 5: of that defense. Like to Mario Davis was that's gonna
- 29:45Speaker 5: be Pete Warner's gonna be asked to do that.
- 29:47Speaker 3: So he's a little bit different of a player.
- 29:51Speaker 5: Christian Miller, I think, is going to have to do
- 29:52Speaker 5: some heavy lifting as a young player because the defensive line,
- 29:55Speaker 5: the interior was just not good a year ago. So
- 29:58Speaker 5: he's gonna have to step up as a young player.
- 30:00Speaker 5: The defensive backfield is your biggest question mark I think
- 30:03Speaker 5: on the team.
- 30:04Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, defensive backfield, they're gonna have this. A lot
- 30:08Speaker 6: of guys are gonna have to step up and play well.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Kool Aid's gonna be like a true number one, true
- 30:12Speaker 6: number one, And I think a lot of the positivity
- 30:16Speaker 6: at this time of the year going in for the
- 30:18Speaker 6: Saints is like you just there are no negative spots
- 30:21Speaker 6: of the off season. There's a couple of question marks,
- 30:25Speaker 6: but for the most part, the Saints won the off season. Man,
- 30:27Speaker 6: they did they did good. There's nothing to question. So
- 30:30Speaker 6: it makes you very positive, especially after the way last
- 30:33Speaker 6: season ended.
- 30:33Speaker 3: It makes you very.
- 30:34Speaker 6: Positive when it's like forever Saints fans are like pulling
- 30:38Speaker 6: their hair out in the off season, like what are
- 30:41Speaker 6: we doing?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Why are we doing this? Our salary cap is an
- 30:44Speaker 3: absolute disaster, Like what are we doing? Like? This has
- 30:48Speaker 3: been very clean, and it's been very common sense and
- 30:51Speaker 3: it's made sense.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Like the only things that you like Tomorrio Davis not
- 30:55Speaker 5: re signing that is a little bit of a you
- 30:57Speaker 5: know that that's the one negative thing that you could
- 30:59Speaker 5: point at.
- 30:59Speaker 6: The only question mark you have is Jordan Tyson's health.
- 31:02Speaker 6: That's the only other question Now, if he's healthy, it's
- 31:04Speaker 6: a awesome yep. But like that's the only thing move
- 31:07Speaker 6: that you can point out to be like, Okay, I
- 31:09Speaker 6: don't know how that's gonna work out yet, But everything
- 31:13Speaker 6: else they did was positive. So I mean, I mean
- 31:15Speaker 6: it's July had twenty eight, So there's no reason not
- 31:19Speaker 6: to be excited, not to be positive and hopeful for
- 31:23Speaker 6: this year. Now, look, you don't have to. You can
- 31:25Speaker 6: lose every game, yeah, except the games of the NFC South.
- 31:29Speaker 6: Just beat them and you make the playoffs. So like
- 31:31Speaker 6: we're not saying they're gonna go seventeen to er, but
- 31:34Speaker 6: I think they got a real damn good shot of
- 31:36Speaker 6: making the playoffs.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I do too. I think they right now for me,
- 31:40Speaker 3: are the leaders in the clubhouse in the South.
- 31:43Speaker 5: I know the schedule starts out incredibly tough, and I
- 31:47Speaker 5: know you've got to play a division that every team
- 31:49Speaker 5: had a winning record, but you also play the AFC North,
- 31:53Speaker 5: which there's so much new in that division. We don't
- 31:55Speaker 5: know what that's going to look like. Three new head coaches.
- 31:58Speaker 3: So hold the line early. That's it. At Baltimore.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Sorry, add Detroit, then at Baltimore, but then you get Vegas,
- 32:06Speaker 5: Atlanta and Minnesota at home.
- 32:08Speaker 6: Yeah, so just hold the line early in the season
- 32:12Speaker 6: as fans, don't get too down, don't get too up
- 32:15Speaker 6: early on. Yeah, because we know what Chuck does in
- 32:19Speaker 6: November December. I already seen it. He's gonna win every game.
- 32:23Speaker 3: You heard it here first, Matt. All right, let's take
- 32:27Speaker 3: a break.
- 32:28Speaker 5: Obviously throughout the show, we'll continue talking a little bit
- 32:30Speaker 5: of Saints since they are reporting today. LSU is going
- 32:33Speaker 5: to be in about a week or so from reporting,
- 32:35Speaker 5: So a lot to get to on the gridiron, and
- 32:38Speaker 5: we'll continue doing it when we come back here on OTB.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Off the bench, all right, go see our.
- 32:44Speaker 5: Friends over at bathfitter dot com, bathfitter dot com, Bathfitter
- 32:48Speaker 5: of Batrouge.
- 32:49Speaker 3: You go see him in the showroom as well.
- 32:51Speaker 5: But we always tell you the thing that is going
- 32:54Speaker 5: to blow you away is how quick the process is
- 32:56Speaker 5: and how quickly they can change your space. A lot
- 32:59Speaker 5: of times you're thinking, Okay, I want a new tub,
- 33:01Speaker 5: I want a new shower, I want a new combo.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Say okay, well, how long is it gonna take.
- 33:05Speaker 5: It's gonna be three weeks, it's gonna be four weeks.
- 33:08Speaker 5: Is there going to be stuff everywhere? People in and
- 33:10Speaker 5: out of my home? And that's not going to be
- 33:12Speaker 5: the case with bath Fitter, And in fact, oftentimes it's
- 33:16Speaker 5: a day, Like a single day is the entire process.
- 33:19Speaker 5: After they come check out your space, get it all
- 33:21Speaker 5: fitted up. It's like a one day install. So it's
- 33:24Speaker 5: gonna blow you away and it's not going to disrupt
- 33:26Speaker 5: your life.
- 33:27Speaker 6: Go to bathfitter dot com and his baths of all styles,
- 33:30Speaker 6: all sizes, all budgets, So just give them a call.
- 33:33Speaker 6: It's so if your tub has been worn out, if
- 33:35Speaker 6: you're not sure, like who do trust to replace it? Well,
- 33:38Speaker 6: get a new bath. Go to bathfitter dot com. That's
- 33:40Speaker 6: bathfitter dot com.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Max Flin presented
- 33:51Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Then come to my ba.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Your spirits. Un wants you to get off the streets.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Oh god, she like the boys in the band. When
- 34:18Speaker 3: to her room, it's the right time. She's never hide.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Please out now, that girl is pretty wound.
- 34:30Speaker 5: Bos All right, welcome back in TB here live from
- 34:35Speaker 5: the Raising Cane Studio. Yesterday over on Moving the Chains,
- 34:43Speaker 5: we had Lance Moore on the show. We were trying
- 34:46Speaker 5: to have a teammate of anybody going into the Hall
- 34:48Speaker 5: of Fame. So we're talking Drew Brees talking Saints, and
- 34:54Speaker 5: it's just remarkable the run that the Saints went on
- 34:57Speaker 5: and how long that window was open with Drew Brees
- 35:00Speaker 5: and Sean Payton and that whole crew, and for the
- 35:02Speaker 5: most part, I mean even like the surrounding players were
- 35:07Speaker 5: the same. Yeah, I mean receive like Colston and Moore
- 35:12Speaker 5: right than you had obviously like some different running backs.
- 35:14Speaker 5: But start off, you know you had you had guys
- 35:17Speaker 5: like Duce of Cows and you have Pierre Thomas, Ye,
- 35:20Speaker 5: you have Reggie Bush.
- 35:21Speaker 3: But what a hell of a run that's yesterday.
- 35:24Speaker 6: And that's how like your salary cap gets so messed
- 35:26Speaker 6: up because you had a window that was open for
- 35:29Speaker 6: so long. You see teams all the time go all
- 35:31Speaker 6: in when they have their window, like the Rams the
- 35:33Speaker 6: last couple of years, they've been going all in because
- 35:35Speaker 6: they got the quarterback, they got the coach, they got everything.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that was the heck of a window for Saints football.
- 35:43Speaker 6: And you know, you look back on it, and I
- 35:45Speaker 6: think Saints fans look back on it like kind of
- 35:48Speaker 6: like how I and Green Bay Packer fans look on
- 35:50Speaker 6: that period of time, like one super Bowl.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Is awesome, but they think that there should have been
- 35:58Speaker 3: and could have been, could have been more. I do.
- 36:03Speaker 3: I get that.
- 36:04Speaker 5: But if someone that was the one seed two different
- 36:07Speaker 5: times and didn't win a playoff game in those years,
- 36:10Speaker 5: it two different teams too, So it's not just a
- 36:12Speaker 5: bush league Bolts situation. It's damn hard to finish it.
- 36:17Speaker 5: Like I know, you only get one and everybody's like,
- 36:20Speaker 5: oh my gosh, we were there so many times. Like
- 36:23Speaker 5: and Paul will understand this because he's a Brais fan.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Same thing you used to talk about with the Braids
- 36:27Speaker 5: all the time.
- 36:28Speaker 3: They won the NL as this many years in a row. There,
- 36:30Speaker 3: they've been to the World Series, they lost to the twins.
- 36:33Speaker 3: They lost to the Yankees. They only won one. It's like, yeah,
- 36:35Speaker 3: but they won one.
- 36:37Speaker 5: I get you want to win more, But if you
- 36:40Speaker 5: get one in that window, no way in the world
- 36:43Speaker 5: am I gonna call it a failure. You did what
- 36:47Speaker 5: you had to do to win a championship. You won
- 36:51Speaker 5: that one time, do you you know, Yeah, sure, maybe
- 36:54Speaker 5: you do wish more, but it's.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Someone that didn't win it. I take one, give me one,
- 36:59Speaker 3: yeah for sure.
- 37:00Speaker 6: I mean I understand that. But I guess you could
- 37:06Speaker 6: say the Chargers window was open at that point. I guess, yeah,
- 37:09Speaker 6: a couple of number one seeds. But like, look, I mean,
- 37:12Speaker 6: that's the goal is, especially when you have that type
- 37:16Speaker 6: of quarterback for so long, and that's why you go
- 37:18Speaker 6: all in during that window, and teams do it all
- 37:22Speaker 6: the time, and it is it's the goal is to
- 37:24Speaker 6: go all in and pay people and leverage your salary
- 37:28Speaker 6: cap for the future.
- 37:30Speaker 3: You leverage the future a little bit because you want
- 37:32Speaker 3: to win another one. You want to win one.
- 37:34Speaker 6: You know you're in that window, and so when you
- 37:35Speaker 6: don't do it, it certainly is like you're not reaching
- 37:38Speaker 6: your goal. Now, that's not to say it wasn't awesome,
- 37:41Speaker 6: and it wasn't an awesome run, and it wasn't successful.
- 37:43Speaker 6: You just didn't reach the goal that you wanted to. Like,
- 37:47Speaker 6: I don't look at the time like Green Bay's run
- 37:49Speaker 6: with Aaron Ryders. I look at that and saying that
- 37:51Speaker 6: was awesome, that was great. They should have won another
- 37:54Speaker 6: one though.
- 37:55Speaker 3: They should have. We should have Ford.
- 38:02Speaker 6: Now you can't say you can't go fifteen and one
- 38:04Speaker 6: in it's a year and be like happy that you
- 38:06Speaker 6: didn't win the Super Bowl.
- 38:09Speaker 3: No, nobody's happy. But I'm just saying how difficult it is.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Like the two times I'm talking about nine, we want
- 38:15Speaker 5: eleven in a row, lost to the Jets in the
- 38:18Speaker 5: division round. In twenty twelve, we won eleven in a
- 38:24Speaker 5: row and lost the division round to the Ravens. Sure
- 38:28Speaker 5: it sucks, but just how high miracle deeper than the
- 38:35Speaker 5: deepest rahem more?
- 38:37Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 38:39Speaker 5: Are you hearing some noise over there? I can tell
- 38:40Speaker 5: you're squirreling over there.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Paul's just editing videos. It's okay, Paul, He's just trying
- 38:49Speaker 4: to get ahead. He has a long day.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Oh what, you don't understand what most people can do
- 38:53Speaker 3: in this room and not pay attention to that.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Okay, he has Tour de Frant's full volume whenever it's on.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and fairness, I don't pay attention to the radio show.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I kept seeing him over there, like sorry multitasking?
- 39:10Speaker 6: Yeah, Like it's just probably watching a video over there. Yeah,
- 39:13Speaker 6: I said, no, you know, no, it feels me or not.
- 39:22Speaker 6: So what are you saying Saints are gonna win the
- 39:24Speaker 6: Super Bowl?
- 39:26Speaker 5: I was just reliving the glory days because we talked
- 39:28Speaker 5: with Lance Moore yesterday and I was like, man, that
- 39:30Speaker 5: window was open for as long as any NFL windows
- 39:33Speaker 5: maybe been open.
- 39:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 6: I do think the listeners might like to so I
- 39:38Speaker 6: heard this morning actually speaking of that era what kicked
- 39:44Speaker 6: it all off. Of course, Drew Brees come into the
- 39:46Speaker 6: Saints in two thousand and five. I did hear him
- 39:49Speaker 6: tell the story of when he kind of made his
- 39:53Speaker 6: decision to come here. He was on the podcast with
- 39:56Speaker 6: the Kelsey Brothers. Yeah, and uh, I think I might
- 39:59Speaker 6: like to find that clip and if we can, that's great.
- 40:02Speaker 6: We have that when we come back here hopefully maybe
- 40:08Speaker 6: I hope we'll be back.

- 41:16Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn, presented
- 41:19Speaker 1: by Community Steel.
- 41:43Speaker 6: All right, welcome back here Off the Bench on a
- 41:47Speaker 6: Tuesday Tuesday show, brought you back Community Steel closing out
- 41:51Speaker 6: our number one and we were just reliving the glory
- 41:53Speaker 6: days of some Saints football. Jake, you're talking with Lance
- 41:58Speaker 6: Moore yesterday and what a window that was for Saints football.
- 42:02Speaker 6: And it all got kicked off after Hurricane Katrina, after
- 42:07Speaker 6: Drew Brees, John Payton decided to take their talents to
- 42:12Speaker 6: New Orleans. And so Drew Brees was on the Kelsey
- 42:15Speaker 6: Podcast yesterday with the Kelsey Brothers and I saw clip.
- 42:19Speaker 6: We shortened it a little bit, but we want to
- 42:21Speaker 6: give you enough time to hear the story. So Paul,
- 42:24Speaker 6: will you play that clip?
- 42:25Speaker 3: Dude?
- 42:25Speaker 9: This is wallpaper Miami here I come.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:30Speaker 9: And then on the flip side, you got New Orleans right.
- 42:32Speaker 9: Six months post Katrina, some unknown head coach named Sean Payton, right?
- 42:36Speaker 3: Is this guy right?
- 42:38Speaker 9: And ironically five years previous when I was when I
- 42:41Speaker 9: was being like in the draft Tom conn in my agent,
- 42:44Speaker 9: I had probably fifteen teams that I thought my drafting
- 42:47Speaker 9: and he's like, we're going through that list leading up
- 42:49Speaker 9: to draft day and he's like, man, you got all
- 42:50Speaker 9: these great possibilities. He's like, man, you know, honestly, the
- 42:53Speaker 9: only one I would really not want you to go
- 42:55Speaker 9: to is the New Orleans Saints, like kind of dysfunctional
- 42:57Speaker 9: party town, this and that. Like, so I had that
- 43:00Speaker 9: ringing in my head as well. Right, so again on paper,
- 43:03Speaker 9: it's like, this is so obvious and I'm not leaving
- 43:06Speaker 9: anything to chance. I'm gonna go and I'm gonna give
- 43:07Speaker 9: each one like it's fair opportunity. And like the Miami
- 43:11Speaker 9: trip was amazing, with the exception of they put me
- 43:15Speaker 9: through the ringer like six hours of these medical testing
- 43:19Speaker 9: because I was only too like eight weeks postop on
- 43:23Speaker 9: an eight month rehab, so I was nowhere close. I
- 43:25Speaker 9: mean my arm, you know, I'm still kind of in
- 43:26Speaker 9: a sling, you know, and I can't do anything. And
- 43:29Speaker 9: there they do the you know, the saline solution to
- 43:31Speaker 9: contrast MRI. So I'm like in an MRI two for
- 43:34Speaker 9: two hours, just aching. Right, I get out of that,
- 43:36Speaker 9: they stick these big needles in my shoulder to test
- 43:38Speaker 9: nerve endings. They're they're they're they're wanting to test everything.
- 43:42Speaker 9: So I just I got this feeling of like doubt,
- 43:44Speaker 9: like they don't really And and then their doctors were
- 43:47Speaker 9: the ones who told Saban, we think he's got a
- 43:49Speaker 9: twenty five percent chance of ever coming back and playing again.
- 43:53Speaker 9: And I go to New Orleans and it's like, you
- 43:55Speaker 9: are our guy, like Sean Payton, Mickey Limus, you're our guy,
- 43:59Speaker 9: or building this offense around you. They did everything they
- 44:02Speaker 9: could to kind of roll out the red carpet despite
- 44:03Speaker 9: all the circumstances. I mean, Nolan's was still destroyed, right,
- 44:07Speaker 9: like right, And the epic story is Sean Payton, after
- 44:10Speaker 9: this great visit there, gets lost in the Lakeview neighborhood
- 44:14Speaker 9: and we're driving through there and houses are off of foundations,
- 44:17Speaker 9: Chevy truck upside down, the living room. All of a sudden,
- 44:20Speaker 9: car stops, there's a tugboat in the middle of the road,
- 44:22Speaker 9: and I'm looking at my wife like are you seeing
- 44:24Speaker 9: what I'm seeing? But it's also one of those moments like, man,
- 44:26Speaker 9: this is so much bigger than just football, right, like
- 44:28Speaker 9: we could to be a part of one of them,
- 44:30Speaker 9: you know, the resurrection of one of America's greatest cities,
- 44:32Speaker 9: like this is God's calling in our life, and so
- 44:34Speaker 9: that was the determining fact.
- 44:38Speaker 3: That's pretty cool.
- 44:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you're a great sorry, Yeah, really cool because it's
- 44:42Speaker 5: a butterfly effect of everything when that whole and the
- 44:47Speaker 5: Miami thing and yeah, yeah him if he doesn't you know,
- 44:50Speaker 5: if he doesn't leave here like we you know, we
- 44:52Speaker 5: were young players, Like what does it look like for us?
- 44:54Speaker 8: Right?
- 44:55Speaker 5: Ye know, Dante Colepepper ends up there, Drew brees up there,
- 44:59Speaker 5: like who would the Saints have gotten it?
- 45:00Speaker 3: You know.
- 45:01Speaker 6: In the first minute of that, I'll summarize, he's kind
- 45:03Speaker 6: of talking about how perfect Miami was at the time
- 45:06Speaker 6: on paper, like he knew all the keny of the offense,
- 45:09Speaker 6: line coach, the offensive coordinator, they were running the same offense.
- 45:12Speaker 6: They had just finished like they were nine and seven
- 45:14Speaker 6: the year before and went on a seven game win
- 45:16Speaker 6: streak at the end of Like he said, everything was
- 45:19Speaker 6: pointing perfect, but he just felt something to tug him back,
- 45:25Speaker 6: to tell him to New Orleans hugboat. It was a tugboat,
- 45:29Speaker 6: and he thought it was God's calling and made that
- 45:32Speaker 6: decision to not do the perfect decision and make a
- 45:36Speaker 6: decision that ended up being perfect.
- 45:40Speaker 3: That is one of the great butterfly effect situations I
- 45:43Speaker 3: think in all of sports. Yeah, not just the NFL.
- 45:45Speaker 5: I think all of sports is Drew Brees, Nick Saban,
- 45:49Speaker 5: Dante Colepeper, Dolphin, Saints and to that point, and a
- 45:53Speaker 5: lot of you listening, a lot of you in this
- 45:55Speaker 5: room remember what it was like before breeze. Yeah right,
- 45:59Speaker 5: I mean, you know, don't patrol was fun and then
- 46:03Speaker 5: win a playoff game to this point.
- 46:04Speaker 6: Post breeze as well, So where we think we've got
- 46:08Speaker 6: it figured out a little bit, We got the next field.
- 46:12Speaker 5: Better about where it's at now than when you brought
- 46:14Speaker 5: in a quarterback that went to Chipotle for.
- 46:16Speaker 3: The first meal. I guess sucks. I feel better about
- 46:21Speaker 3: it now.
- 46:21Speaker 4: You know, were so off like everything about it was
- 46:26Speaker 4: like his.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Fit was like Brian Kelly l s u Yes, yeah,
- 46:29Speaker 3: and you can't really explain it.
- 46:31Speaker 2: Now we got Lane and Tyler shuck, look at us
- 46:34Speaker 2: go you gotta be patient.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Number two came, make your
- 46:38Speaker 1: Way off the bench.
