- 0:03Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:07Epstein Chronicles. As much as I despise Jeffrey Epstein, as
- 0:11much as he sickens me, as much as I think
- 0:15that he was an absolute disgusting piece of garbage, there's
- 0:19no denying that he was charismatic, and there's no denying
- 0:23that he had a way of attracting people into his orbit,
- 0:28and a lot of those people had a whole lot
- 0:31of money. So I'll never sit here and tell you
- 0:34that Jeffrey Epstein wasn't a con man. He was one
- 0:37of the best to do it. But unlike the vast
- 0:40majority of con men, Jeffrey Epstein was playing the long
- 0:44con and he had a long term game plan that
- 0:49he was carrying out, and that game plan included collecting
- 0:53billionaires at every turn. And one of those billionaires was
- 0:58Mortimer Zuckerman. Now we've talked about mister Zuckerman several times
- 1:03on the podcast previously, and if you recall, he was
- 1:07getting dragged into the lawsuit between Dershowitz and Virginia Roberts.
- 1:13Now that never went anywhere, considering that Virginia and Dershowitz
- 1:17came to an agreement, but Mortimer has been somebody that's
- 1:21been a close friend to Jeffrey Epstein for a very
- 1:24very long time. So it does not shock me to
- 1:27find out that Jeffrey Epstein was trying to get Mortimer
- 1:32to give up control of his affairs. Now, Jeffrey Epstein
- 1:36said that he was giving that advice because Mortimer was
- 1:41declining right He was having a mental and physical decline,
- 1:47and Jeffrey Epstein wanted him to take care of his
- 1:50affairs before that decline slipped even further. However, it wasn't
- 1:55because Jeffrey Epstein was a nice guy and he cared
- 1:57about Mortimer. He wanted to get his hands on some
- 2:01of that dough. So today we have an article from
- 2:04Al Jazeera and the headline Epstein urged media mogul to
- 2:09give up control of affairs, citing health. This article was
- 2:13authored by John Power. Jeffrey Epstein urged Canadian American media
- 2:20and real estate mogul Mortimer Zuckerman to relinquish control of
- 2:24his financial affairs over what he claimed was the magnates
- 2:27potentially dangerous cognitive impairment. According to files released by the
- 2:32United States Department of Justice, While Epstein's business ties with Zuckerman,
- 2:37now eighty eight years old, have been a matter of
- 2:40public record for over two decades. The file suggests that
- 2:43the late sex offender also served as a confidant with
- 2:47access to the most intimate details of the billionaire moguls
- 2:50personal life. Well, that's what he did. That's what Jeffrey
- 2:54Epstein's function was. Once he weaseled his way in, he
- 2:59was there and there was no rooting him out because
- 3:01once he was there, he acted like the parasite he was.
- 3:06He leached on and he started bleeding people dry. And
- 3:09that was Jeffrey Epstein's m O time and time again.
- 3:13And having all this money, all this access to all
- 3:16this wealth from people like Mortimer and people like Les
- 3:21Wexner and people like Leon Black, it gave Jeffrey Epstein
- 3:25great power. Right when you're controlling that amount of money,
- 3:30when you're able to make decisions for people like Leon
- 3:33Black and mister Mortimer Zuckerman, that certainly gives you a
- 3:38level of financial ability that most people can never even
- 3:41dream about. And if you don't think Jeffrey Epstein was
- 3:45making a bag while he was doing whatever scumbaggery he
- 3:48was doing for these people, you're crazy. He was getting
- 3:51his cut. And we're not talking about the usual banker's cut.
- 3:55We're talking about a criminality cut, right, probably anywhere from
- 4:00twenty five to forty percent. When you're trying to stash
- 4:05money and you're trying to hide money, that's how it
- 4:07works out right. You think people like Epstein are just
- 4:11going to bundle that for free. Oh yeah, here's the
- 4:13homie hookup. He doesn't have any homies. He never did.
- 4:17It's always been about Jeffrey Epstein, and I've been trying
- 4:20to tell people that for a long time. After meeting
- 4:25with Zuckerman and the Norwegian diplomat Terry Rod Larsen in
- 4:29October of twenty fifteen, Epstein wrote an email urging the
- 4:32tycoon to enter a guardianship or a conservatorship for his
- 4:36own protection. Epstein told Zuckerman, the owner and publisher of
- 4:40US News and World, to report that the mogul had
- 4:43requested his help during their meeting several days earlier, but
- 4:47that he might not remember or is it Epstein making
- 4:51a move, knows that this guy is losing his marbles
- 4:54and says to himself, you know what, this is an
- 4:57easy way to pick up another thirty forty to fifty
- 5:00hundred million, whatever it might be. Because remember again, Jeffrey
- 5:04Epstein has no friends, and just like any shark in
- 5:08the water, when they smell blood, a feeding frenzy occurs,
- 5:13and that most certainly is the case for people like
- 5:15Epstein when it comes to money. Your friends, including me,
- 5:21are very concerned that your cognitive impairment has now reached
- 5:24a serious and potentially dangerous level. Their serious concern for
- 5:29your financial, emotional, physical, and psychological safety. Epstein wrote, using
- 5:34his typically idiosyncratic approach to spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Well,
- 5:41that's a nice way of saying that Jeffrey Epstein typed
- 5:44like a tween. I mean he wanted to be around
- 5:46a bunch of teenagers. Is anybody shocked at his grammar?
- 5:50Looks like a teenager was the one that was in
- 5:52charge of writing the email. Nobody should be shocked by that.
- 5:56And again there's this big myth that Jeffrey Epstein was
- 5:58some kind of genius. He most certainly was not. He
- 6:04was a snake oil salesman, a huckster, a manipulator, a cheater,
- 6:10a liar. A genius certainly not that Epstein suggested that Zuckerman,
- 6:15Grant Rod Larsen, Zuckerman's nephews, and anyone else you trust
- 6:19authority to manage his affairs, warning that his remarkable abilities
- 6:24were no longer enough to protect him. I'm aware that
- 6:28your condition makes you prone to suspicion, but that being said,
- 6:31the future predictable decline will be an ever increasing danger,
- 6:35Epstein wrote, the concerned predator, putting on his nurse's hat. Meanwhile,
- 6:41what he really means is turn your money over to
- 6:44me so I can pill for it. Admitting you have
- 6:47a problem will take courage and determination. Zuckerman, who previously
- 6:52owned The Atlantic and the New York Deli News, appeared
- 6:55to take Epstein's advice seriously, thanking him for his thoughtfulness
- 6:59and French, and asking for recommendations for a lawyer with
- 7:03experience in such matters. Imagine turning to Jeffrey Epstein for
- 7:07any kind of advice whatsoever. Like you have your own kids,
- 7:11you have people around you, but it's Jeffrey Epstein you're
- 7:14relying on. I just don't understand. I truly don't get it.
- 7:20It's one of the most confusing things in this whole,
- 7:23entire disgusting ball of shit. Like, you have all this
- 7:28access to the best people in the world when it
- 7:30comes to tax advice, of state planning, whatever, but you
- 7:34choose to go to Jeffrey Epstein. You choose to associate
- 7:37with a man who's already been convicted of crimes against miners,
- 7:43Like make it make sense. And look, I'm not saying
- 7:46that people can't be duped. They most certainly can. But
- 7:50when you know what somebody is, you know what they've done,
- 7:53you can't come off and say, oh, well, I had
- 7:55no idea. I didn't know he was a predator. I
- 7:58didn't know he was an evil man. And it's not
- 8:01like this stuff was hidden like nobody reported on it.
- 8:05It was reported on a lot, and everybody knew what
- 8:08Jeffrey Epstein was. And all these people that were in
- 8:11his circle that tryum bullshit about that, they really are repugnant.
- 8:15And it's one of the main reasons I don't care
- 8:17about their reputations. I really don't give a flying fuck
- 8:21about any of their reputations. All these people that have
- 8:25been hiding from this, running from it, knew about it
- 8:28but kept it secret. Now that you've been outed, I
- 8:31should care about you. Well, maybe you should have cared
- 8:33about those survivors. Maybe you should have cared that Jeffrey
- 8:37Epstein and his band of bank robbers were stealing from
- 8:41all of us. So I really don't care about their
- 8:43reputations being put on blast. They should be put on blast,
- 8:46and if they can explain themselves, they should. But the
- 8:50problem is most of these people they can't explain themselves,
- 8:54and that's why they ran from it for so long.
- 8:57Zuckerman suggested the two men meet after he from an
- 9:00upcoming trip to San Francisco, but Epstein advised him to
- 9:03cancel the trip and said the mogul had told him
- 9:07about his travel plans on four separate occasions. I know
- 9:11you don't remember each time. Mort you need a guardian,
- 9:13Epstein wrote, you should choose one now while your judgment
- 9:16peaks through the haze. Waiting too long will mean most
- 9:19likely accord imposed solution, not fun. Epstein also discussed Zuckerman's
- 9:25health with his nephew, Eric Gertler, advising the relative to
- 9:29oversee the sale of the businessman's stocks, art collection, helicopter
- 9:33and plane. Well, I'm sure that Jeffrey Epstein was gonna
- 9:37benefit one way or the other from that stuff being
- 9:40sold off again. There is not an altruistic bone in
- 9:43this dude's body. Everything's about Epstein, Everything's transactional, and everything
- 9:48is parasitic. My expertise is the financial take any other
- 9:53suggestion as merely transmitting from other skilled in this terrible situation.
- 9:58Epstein wrote to Gertler, who is the current executive chairman
- 10:01of US News and World Report, in one email. It's
- 10:06not clear of Zuckerman followed Epstein's advice to pass over
- 10:09control of his affairs. Zuckerman announced that he would step
- 10:14down as chairman of the Boston Properties, one of the
- 10:16largest real estate investment trusts in the US, about six
- 10:20months after his correspondence with Epstein. Well, he probably took
- 10:25his advice, and I'm sure that the people around him,
- 10:27his nephew whoever, saw the decline, so I have no
- 10:32doubt that they took Epstein's advice. What I'm shocked by
- 10:36is that Epstein didn't weasel his way in and get
- 10:38the keys to the kingdom. That's what I'm shocked by.
- 10:44Zuckerman did not cite any health issues at the time
- 10:46and kept the title to chairman at the company, which
- 10:49he co founded in nineteen seventy his philanthropic organizations, the
- 10:54Zuckerman Institute and Zuckerman's STEM Leadership Program, and Gertler did
- 10:58not reply to Alja's Zra's request for a comment. Zuckerman's
- 11:03relationship with Epstein, who died in twenty nineteen while awaiting
- 11:06trial on sex trafficking charges, occasionally made headlines during the
- 11:10early two thousands, before Epstein's two thousand and eight conviction
- 11:14for soliciting a minor for prostitution. In two thousand and three,
- 11:19Zuckerman partnered with Epstein and several other prominent businessmen, including
- 11:23the disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, in an unsuccessful bid
- 11:28to buy New York Magazine. The two teamed up again
- 11:32the following year to invest twenty five million in the
- 11:35short lived relaunch of the entertainment in gossip magazine Radar.
- 11:39And We've talked about the New York Magazine bid plenty
- 11:42of times. Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, and mort Zuckerman. Are
- 11:48we calling that Predators Inc? LLC? Or something like holy shit,
- 11:53I'm surprised that Jimmy Saville wasn't part of that team.
- 11:57Investigative files released by the US Department of Justice in
- 12:00January showed that the late financier viewed Zuckerman as a
- 12:04client and close associate, as well as a business partner.
- 12:08In twenty thirteen, Epstein drew up a twenty one million
- 12:11dollar proposal to provide Zuckerman with analyzing, evaluating, planning, and
- 12:16other services relating to the passing of his estate. According
- 12:20to emails in the files, and that's what Epstein really
- 12:24was doing. That's what his money maker was, if you will,
- 12:29the thing that got him in the door. He knew
- 12:31how to move money, he knew how to hide it,
- 12:34and he knew how to make sure you didn't have
- 12:36to claim it. And that's what opened the door for
- 12:38Epstein into this world. Epstein also pressured Zuckerman to alter
- 12:46coverage of his alleged sexual abuse of girls in the
- 12:49New York Daili News, suggesting a proposed answer to questions
- 12:53put to him by the newspaper in two thousand and nine.
- 12:56Zuckerman owned the New York Daily News at the time.
- 13:00You know, the whole entire media was in on it. It's
- 13:03laughable when the legacy media talks about how nobody knew
- 13:06about this, nobody had any idea what Epstein was. Yo.
- 13:10If my dumbass knew, I promise you people in those
- 13:13newsrooms they knew too. The difference is they didn't care,
- 13:17And if I'm keeping it a buck, I don't think
- 13:19they care now either, not about the whole story. They
- 13:22care about making their political points, they care about trying
- 13:25to use it as a cudgel. But do they care
- 13:28about the story overall? I have my doubts, But as
- 13:31far as Zuckerman goes, there's no doubt that there was
- 13:34a deep relationship between him and Jeffrey Epstein, and what
- 13:37was speculation previously about how deep those ties ran has
- 13:42now been confirmed by the emails in the files, and
- 13:45I think it just shows you once again how deep
- 13:48the tentacles of Jeffrey Epstein reached, and just how many
- 13:51powerful people were affording with them and in some cases
- 13:56enabling them. And folks, we've only begun to scratch the surface,
- 14:02So like usual, we're going to continue swimming through the
- 14:05muck looking for that clarity. All the information that goes
- 14:09with this episode can be found in the description box.
