- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Exodus eight.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Then the Lord told Moses, Go to Pharaoh and tell him that the Lord says, Let my people go to worship me.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: If you refuse to let my people go, then I will fill Egypt with frogs.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: The Nile River will be filled with frogs.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: They will come from the river and enter your houses.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: They will be in your bedrooms and in your beds.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: They will be in the houses of your officials and in your ovens and in your jars of water.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: The frogs will be all over you, your people and your officials.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Then the Lord said to Moses, Tell Aaron to hold the walking stick in his hand over the canals, rivers and lakes.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Then the frogs will come out onto the land of Egypt.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So Aaron raised his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs began coming out of the water and covered the land of Egypt.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: The magicians used their magic to do the same thing, so even more frogs came out into the land of Egypt.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said, Ask the Lord to remove the frogs from me and my people, and I will let the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Moses said to Pharaoh, I will pray for you, your people and your officials.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Then the frogs will leave you and your houses.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: They will remain only in the river.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: When do you want the frogs to go away?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Pharaoh said Tomorrow.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Moses said, It will happen as you say, in this way you will know that there is no God like the Lord our God.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: The frogs will leave you, your house, your officials, and your people.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: They will remain only in the river.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Moses prayed to the Lord about the frogs he had sent against Pharaoh, and the Lord did what Moses asked.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: The frogs died in the houses in the yards and in the fields.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: They began to rot, and the whole country began to stink.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: But when Pharaoh saw that they were free of the frogs, he again became stubborn.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Pharaoh did not do what Moses and Aaron asked him to do.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: This happened just as the Lord had said The lice.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Then the Lord said to Moses, Tell Aaron to raise his stick and hit the dust on the ground, and everywhere in Egypt dust will become lice.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: They did this.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Aaron raised the stick in his hand and hit the dust on the ground, and everywhere in Egypt the dust became lice.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: The lice got on the animals and the people.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: The magicians used their magic and tried to do the same thing, but the magicians could not make lice come from the dust.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: The lice remained on the animals and the people.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: So the magicians told Pharaoh that the power of God did this, but Pharaoh refused to listen to them.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: This happened just as the Lord had said.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: The flies.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: The Lord said to Moses, get up in the morning and go to Pharaoh.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: He will go out to the river.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Tell him that the Lord says, Let my people go and worship me.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: If you don't let my people go, then flies will come into your houses.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: The flies will be on you and your officials.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: The houses of Egypt will be full of flies.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: They will be all over the ground too.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: But I will not treat the Israelites the same as the Egyptians.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: There will not be any flies in Goshen where my people live.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: In this way you will know that I, the Lord, am in this land.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: So tomorrow I will treat my people differently from your people.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: This will be my proof.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: So the Lord did just what he said.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Millions of flies came into Egypt.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: The flies were in Pharaoh's house, and they were in all of his officials' houses.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: They were all over Egypt.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: The flies were ruining the country.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: So Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and told them offer sacrifices to your God here in this country.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: But Moses said it would not be right to do that.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: The Egyptians think it is terrible to kill animals as sacrifices for the Lord our God.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: If we do this here, the Egyptians will see us and throw stones at us and kill us.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Let us go three days into the desert and offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: This is what he told us to do.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: So Pharaoh said, I will let you go and offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the desert, but you must not go very far.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Now go and pray for me.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Moses said, Look, I will leave and ask the Lord to remove the flies from you, your people, and your officials tomorrow.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: But you must not stop the people from offering sacrifices to the Lord.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: So Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord, and the Lord did what Moses asked.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: He removed the flies from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: None of the flies remained, but Pharaoh again became stubborn and did not let the people go.
