- 0:51Sean McAllister: Did you know that Las Vegas visitors can walk up to eight miles per day?
- 0:57Sean McAllister: And you know what?

- 2:00Sean McAllister: If it's fun to do or see, it's on Vegas Near Me.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: Let's get to it now and spin that wheel.
- 2:15Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 164, Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: And uh, you know, we keep talking about the money that people are spending here in Las Vegas, and it's reached a record high.
- 2:32Sean McAllister: We're gonna get into all those uh facts and figures coming up, but uh it's just insane, isn't it?
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: It is, and I people always tell us after we do podcasts with a little kind of some statistics thrown in there that they find it really interesting.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: We try and really condense it, just give you the nuggets, but so we wanna tell people about this one because we both looked and went, really?
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: I mean, we knew Vegas was doing well, but so we're gonna dive into all that in just a little bit.
- 2:59Dayna Roselli: But yeah, like you said, I don't want to say it's surprising, but kind of surprising.
- 3:04Sean McAllister: Well, and you know, we keep seeing uh new resorts adding parking fees, and I saw a conversation online about that, and someone chimed in and said, you know what?
- 3:14Sean McAllister: Yes, these places are imposing parking fees, but people are still coming to Vegas.
- 3:21Sean McAllister: People are still paying not only the parking fees, but higher prices for hotels and meals and experiences.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: So I mean, the strat is charging for parking now, and I'm not trying to another one bites the dust.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: Dig on the strat or anything, but it is a little bit north of, you know, it's the northern northern end of the strip.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: And to get people there, you'd think that you would just keep the parking free.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: To get them in and out.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: I know they're opening that entertainment golf complex, and I wonder if the parking has to do with that, if they need to use that garage and they really just want to keep it to people who are going to visit the hotel or visit the golf attraction.
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: But yeah, the strat is charging.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: And then we're hearing that possibly the Palazzo Venetian.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: And that might be due to, but you're right, people are gonna do it.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: And that might be due to the sphere that is being built next door and uh is going to open in the fall.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: So we got a little bit of time yet, but the fall will be here before we know it.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: And for people who are unfamiliar where the sphere sits, it's kind of tucked back behind the Venetian and palazzo.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: So the Venetian and Palazzo is going to be your entry point to get over to the sphere for any concerts or shows that uh might be displayed there.
- 4:40Sean McAllister: And actually, that's one of the things we have brand new information on this week, Dana.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: We do.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna talk about that.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: I was gonna tell you real quick, though, uh, a listener and an acquaintance of mine said, Hey, look at this picture that someone sent me, and it was the sphere lit up because they've been doing testing.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: And they said, This is fake, right?
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: And then I took a little clip from when I was on the morning blend and we showed a live picture.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, nope, this is it.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: So it's interesting that people still outside of Las Vegas don't believe it's happening, don't know that much about it.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: And feel like there's no way there's this huge, enormous globe that has screens around the whole thing and is gonna change colors and have images on it.
- 5:24Dayna Roselli: But yes, it is.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: So I sent him that and and now he believes me.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: So, but yes, the MSG Sphere, they announced um some information.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: Now we had talked a while back, telling you that it was going to be used year-round.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: One of our sources that is over there told us this is gonna be used year round.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: We were like, how?
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: Because we figured there'd be shows in there, conventions, people would come and go.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: Um, but how would it be used year round?
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: And now we kind of understand why.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: They announced this new immersive experience.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: And it sounds like this is the first one and it's gonna keep changing.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: But there are tickets on sale, and that the tickets are on sale already, and it's called Sphere Experiences.
- 6:06Dayna Roselli: They're launching this first of its kind immersive production, the first one called Postcard from Earth.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: And this is the first piece of content that we're hearing about that's coming out of the Sphere Studios, which are based in Burbank, California, with all the other major movie studios.
- 6:24Sean McAllister: And there are even reports uh that this first production is uh has at least some sort of attachment with filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, who is well known in the you know Hollywood filmmaking world.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: Um so to have that level of uh experience and that caliber of filmmaker to be producing this really first of its kind and unique content because there is no other sphere like this anywhere on Earth.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: Isn't that interesting?
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it says it's gonna utilize the full breadth of the venue's 22nd century technologies.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: So it looks like everything's gonna be jam-packed into postcard from Earth, which is gonna be probably incredible to see.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: Uh tickets actually, we're recording this on a Wednesday.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: Tickets just went on sale this morning.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: And, you know, when we were talking about it being used year-round, um, the source we were chatting with was like, you know, the sphere is going to be a destination spot.
- 7:28Dayna Roselli: And we were like, well, I don't get it, but now it all makes sense.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: It's something that people would actually travel here because they want to go see one of these immersive experiences.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: Well, production productions, I should say.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: They're calling it immersive production.
- 7:43Sean McAllister: Right.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: And I feel like it's back when movie theaters first came out, like the silent film era.
- 7:50Sean McAllister: I I feel like it's similar to that, where the only people or the only place people could go to see these silent films was to, you know, a nearby theater.
- 8:01Sean McAllister: Well, there isn't going to be a nearby theater showing what they're producing for the sphere.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: The only way to see it is to come to the sphere here in Las Vegas.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be so cool.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: I can't wait.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: I love that they're unveiling a little bit more each time.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: Um, it's it's just really exciting.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: Ran into one of the leaders over there at an event recently, and he said there's so much more to come.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: So we look forward to that.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: If you do want to check it out or you do want to get tickets, it's thespherevegus.com is the website, thespherevegas.com.
- 8:35Sean McAllister: All right, let's get into the numbers that we talked about at the beginning of the episode, Dana.
- 8:40Sean McAllister: The economic impact of Southern Nevada's uh tourism industry.
- 8:45Sean McAllister: We just got some new facts and figures out.
- 8:49Sean McAllister: And uh I mean the the dollar amounts are staggering.
- 8:54Sean McAllister: And uh they not only broke previous records, they like obliterated them.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: I know such a big percentage, right?
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: Here's the first nugget the total economic output related to visitor spending reached a record 79.3 billion in 2022.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: This is a 24.7 percent increase from the previous record that was set in 2019, so before the pandemic.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: So that you're right, 24.7 percent of an increase over that, you know, and it's it's hard because it's kind of like you hop from 2019 to 2022, because in between it was where we were, you know, struggling, the whole world was struggling with tourism and everything.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: And the rebound they say was driven by pent-up travel demand and the addition of our new resorts, our professional sporting events and venues such as Allegiant Stadium.
- 9:53Sean McAllister: Listen, I'll I'll take that.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: And and we knew as these obviously when resorts are being built, the goal is to bring people in from everywhere to stay at them.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: But uh, you know, the same effect was anticipated for professional sports, and to see that uh paying off and actually happening is uh a great thing.
- 10:14Sean McAllister: And you mentioned the total uh economic uh uh impact of tourism, and that takes everything into account from you know people stopping to get gas, all the related things that a a tourist might come in contact with that generates money.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: But talking about individual visitors and how much they are spending, the per visitor spend on a trip to Vegas has increased to$1,156.
- 10:45Sean McAllister: That is per person who comes here.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: Wow, yeah, that's a lot.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: Like overall, that amounts to uh just under$45 billion collectively.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: And again, that's you know, almost a 25% increase from uh 2019, the last kind of normal year that we had.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: You know, and another nugget is that our tourism industry obviously remained the largest regional employer in 2022, um, employing an estimated 229,440 workers.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: That really was interesting to me because we've been talking a lot about Mark Wahlberg, who moved here, but in one of his recent interviews, he said, you know, Nevada is based on tourism, gaming, uh, you know, resorts and hotels.
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: And when he talks about, you know, building a huge Hollywood type studio here, he's saying, he was saying that he uh um hopes that you know Las Vegas and southern Nevada and Nevada as a whole can add more industries to our list of things that we have because tourism is our main thing and it just proves it right there.
- 11:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, and in addition to the movie studio, he wants to build that uh factory to make shoes for his municipal lifestyle brand, which you know, so he's he may diversify our economy.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: He may be the single guy who does it.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, some really interesting numbers, and when we talk about the sporting events and venues, uh such as Allegiant Stadium, because Allegiant Stadium has concerts too.
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: I think back to that weekend when Taylor Swift was here for two nights and we had March Madness basketball, right?
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: At T-Mobile, and how packed it was that weekend in Las Vegas.
- 12:36Dayna Roselli: And I have a friend uh who does some waitressing at a popular place um in Las Vegas, and she was saying the next weekend was just dead.
- 12:46Sean McAllister: Really?
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: Like the difference between the one weekend and the other weekend.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: So when we don't have these big, big events happening at these places like T-Mobile and Allegiant Stadium, or there's not a big convention in town, right?
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: It slows down right away.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: I mean, we're usually busy all the time, it's pretty rare to be kind of slow, but every now and then we get that little slow weekend or slow week.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: And it was just like, you know, comparing just one way, you know, a complete difference basically from one weekend to the next.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was interesting.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: That's true.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: And you know, I uh come to think of it, now that um when I look at our, you know, social media feeds and and friends who work for, you know, all the the places down on the strip, it's you you can usually tell it's a slow weekend when they are off vacationing somewhere else.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: True.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: They probably plan around, you know.
- 13:40Sean McAllister: Because otherwise they have to work all these big events that are happening.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: Take advantage.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: Um, some interesting numbers out there.
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: Um, we love that everyone's coming here and spending money.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: We'll take it.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: We live here, it's great for our economy.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: And I'm so glad that Las Vegas really bounced back.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: We say that all the time, but thank you.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: Well, and I think something to also keep in mind when we're uh talking about these numbers is something that we reported on um when the visitor profile came out, the types of people that are coming here, the satisfaction uh of people's visit is extremely high.
- 14:20Sean McAllister: So people are spending the money, but they're happy with what they're getting.
- 14:24Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: That's everything, right?
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: Because then it means they return.
- 14:27Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: And so the return business is, you know, word of mouth and all that is you can't ask for anything better.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: It's like gold.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: So hey, if you return sometime before November, you can see Katy Perry's show at Resorts World.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: But after November 4th, we're not gonna be able to see it anymore.
- 14:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, Katie just announced her final run of shows over at the Resorts World Theater, obviously at Resorts World.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: Um, Katy Perry Play.
- 14:55Sean McAllister: Such a fun show.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: It is, such a great production.
- 14:59Sean McAllister: Um, but yeah, she just announced the uh final date.
- 15:04Sean McAllister: Uh, she's gonna have some shows in May and August, then again coming up in the fall, October, and early November.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: But November 4, that's it.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: Last show, Katie's saying bye-bye, at least with this production.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so we'll see.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: But it I like that she announced it this early so people know.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: Like I need to get there.
- 15:24Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: Because sometimes people will announce it and they'll be like, oh, I have one more week.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: It's like, oh, wait, you know, so now we know.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: And if for those folks who have been wanting to see it and haven't had the chance, it's literally larger than life, the show.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: It is.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: And yeah, I mean, you go and it's a it's just like we said it with Maroon Five.
- 15:42Dayna Roselli: It's hit after hit after hit.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: You don't even realize how many hits Katy Perry has.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: You're gonna know the words to every song.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: Uh there the radio hits, and when the radio hits, they're hits that you know and are familiar with, and you just can't help but have a good time.
- 15:56Sean McAllister: Well, and they're the kinds of songs that like subconsciously run through your head.
- 16:01Sean McAllister: Like you may not even think that you know the words, but when it's playing, you're like, I know every single lyric to this.
- 16:07Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: And talk about a show.
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: This is a show.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, the like toys come to everything.
- 16:15Dayna Roselli: It's it's it's a show.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: If you want to see some, this is not a Katy Perry concert.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: No, this is a Katy Perry show.
- 16:21Sean McAllister: It reminds me, now that you say that, um, it reminds me of Elton John's first show over at uh the Coliseum at Caesars Palace when there were like those giant inflatable things that would fill up and like take over the stage.
- 16:37Sean McAllister: It's like, what's going on here?
- 16:38Sean McAllister: And it's the same kind of thing with Katy Perry.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, if you haven't had the chance, go see it.
- 16:43Dayna Roselli: Sean and I keep saying we need to get back one more time, too, before it closes.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: That's for sure.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: And we'll see what Katy Perry uh has in store for Vegas again.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: I have a feeling she'll be back.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: I have a feeling, yeah, that relationship will uh stick around.
- 16:56Sean McAllister: Hopefully it will.
- 16:57Sean McAllister: Uh, some other music notes to bring you up to speed on.
- 17:01Sean McAllister: Uh, rock star and activist Melissa Etheridge has announced that she's gonna be hitting the road once again for her 44-date North American tour, stopping here in Las Vegas at the Pearl Concert Theater over at the Palms.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: That show is set for Friday, July 7th.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: Great.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: And then Gladys Knight is gonna perform her many hits spanning, you know, she's got so many.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: You name it pop, RB, gospel, adult contemporary.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: She's gonna be over at the Smith Center here in town, which is awesome.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: She's gonna do a show on August 18th.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: Tickets on sale now for that.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: It's thesmither.com.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: Gladys is amazing.
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: You and I have talked about this before.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: Uh, I've interviewed her once, and it was one of my favorite interviews I've ever done.
- 17:45Dayna Roselli: Such an interesting, successful career she had.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: She's still bringing it, and she's gonna do this show over at the Smith Center.
- 17:51Sean McAllister: I might need to grab myself tickets for this one.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: I I need to go and see Gladys perform.
- 17:56Sean McAllister: I've never seen her.
- 17:57Sean McAllister: I like you said, I've sat down, interviewed her, but I've never gone to see one of her performances.
- 18:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:05Sean McAllister: And that's this is one that I want to make sure to get to.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: She's good.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: You know, she was at something.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: I went to see Matt Goss in England.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: He did this thing called, it's called Proms in the Park.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: I think it's put on by BBC.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: And it's at, oh gosh, I'm blind.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: How could I forget the name of this park?
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: It's where the stones are, it's a very Hyde Park.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: It was Hyde Park.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: Everyone in the UK is cringing right now.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: Like Roselli, how could you not know Hyde Park?
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: It's a good, but anyway, uh, we all went to support Matt.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: He was doing, uh he was one of the acts for this.
- 18:35Dayna Roselli: And and Gladys was one of the acts.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: And she put on such a show.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: Everyone loved it.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: And again, you know all her songs.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: So um I was honored to be able to see her there at Hyde Park, and she was great.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: Oh, looking forward to that.
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Well, uh, August 18th, I am occupied in the evening going to see Gladys Knight.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Hey, House of Cheer is coming to the theater at Virgin Hotels.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: I put this on our list because I thought so many people, more and more, I'm hearing it's like competitive cheer is so huge.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: It's massive.
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is, right?
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: All my friends' kids are in competitive cheer.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: Uh, one of my best friends in from New York, his mother owns a competitive cheer gym in New Jersey.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: It's huge.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: So the team USA uh cheerleading, you know, you know the show Cheer.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: It was very popular the first time it came out on Netflix, I think it was.
- 19:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, that was like a pandemic binge for people.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: And there's been other ones since.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: I tried to watch the second series and I didn't.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: But anyway, top athletes from this award-winning docuseries, Cheer, um, are going to be putting on a one night only showcase at the theater at Virgin.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: I think a lot of people are gonna want to see this.
- 19:44Dayna Roselli: So it sounds really good.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: Uh, tickets are on sale now.
- 19:48Dayna Roselli: They went on sale Friday at AXS.com if you want to go check them out at the Virgin Hotel.
- 19:56Sean McAllister: And we have some uh news from Chippendales.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: We have a uh guest host returning to the stage there, straight from the Jersey Shore.
- 20:05Dayna Roselli: I mean, I feel like Vinny, I how many times have we said this?
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: Vinny's returning again.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: He's back.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: He loves it.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: He loves hosting Chippendales.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: You know, I wonder if it helps him keep up, like he has something that he has to look good for, so it keeps him energized to know, like, I gotta get ready, keeps me motivated, keeps my body intact, you know?
- 20:25Sean McAllister: Just the the fear of stepping on stage and being all soft and mushy.
- 20:31SPEAKER_03: Well, he is the keto guido.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: Vinny, how do you say he's a guagadino?
- 20:36Sean McAllister: Uh got guadino.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: Guadino.
- 20:39Sean McAllister: Godino.
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: Vinny G is coming back to Chippendales, and you know, everyone loves the Jersey Shore.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: It is on all the time.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: Vinny's a huge, huge part of that show, and he's fantastic as the host of Chippendales.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: He joins a lot of the numbers.
- 20:56Dayna Roselli: If you want to check out Vinny, shirtless, and I think I have a shot of when he's just in like a little towel on our social media, go to Vegas Revealed.
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: It's one of our highest numbered TikToks.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: Um, he's coming back though, August 31st through October 8th.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: You have time.
- 21:13Dayna Roselli: But ladies, men, whoever, groups, um, plan your trip out during that time period.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: If you want to see Vinny in Chippendales over at the Rio.
- 21:24Sean McAllister: And if you have uh been listening to Vegas Revealed for the past several episodes, you know uh that at one point Dana broke news about something happening over at the Westgate.
- 21:36Sean McAllister: She saw all this stuff happening in the parking lot, all these like mushroom kinds of things, just weird stuff you wouldn't expect to sit be sitting outside of a casino.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: And everyone was like messaging, what is that?
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: And I have people texting me, like, because they know I live near there, like, what's that?
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: Do you know?
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: And I have the answer all the time, and everyone's always like, I knew you'd know.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: Um, it's called Imaginarium.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: We didn't know The dates that it was going to kick off, but now we have the official dates for that.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: It's an all-ages outdoor immersive 3D light festival.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: Um, it's gonna be here for a limited period.
- 22:09Dayna Roselli: It starts on April 28th and it's gonna run through May 7th, and it's over in that north parking lot of the Westgate.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: So it's spread out.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: I've been watching them put this together, and it looks like it'll be really cool and it's very family friendly as well.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: There'll be a lot of, again, you know, the immersive thing is huge, like different 3D displays, uh, five million colorful lights across five acres, uh, all these different experiences.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: So if you want to check that out, um, do it.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: I believe the tickets aren't too expensive.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: I want to say they were like$21, something like that.
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: Don't quote me on that, but it looks like it could be fun.
- 22:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's eight different fantasy attraction zones that they're building, and they say that you know, everything, well, clearly everything is gonna be larger than life over there.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: Hands-on games.
- 23:01Sean McAllister: There's gonna be creatures that are like straight out of a storybook that you'll encounter.
- 23:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I see them over there.
- 23:08Sean McAllister: Oh, you already know what these creatures are.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: I already know what the creatures are.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: Oh, but I haven't seen them lit up.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, but I'm excited for it to be lit up that would that at night.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: It's gonna be fun.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: It's gonna add to my ambiance around my balcony.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: You'll have music from the festival grounds.
- 23:25Sean McAllister: Yes, you'll have the lights from Imaginarium.
- 23:28Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: It's like like the Lovers and Friends Festival.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: Am I gonna hear Mariah Carey and then the lights from the Imaginarium?
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be a vibe on my patio.
- 23:36Sean McAllister: You're gonna need to sell tickets to your balcony.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: We need to have a party for sure.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: Like, definitely a champagne patio night or something.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: Um, what do we call it?
- 23:44Dayna Roselli: The Vegas Revealed Sky Deck.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: Sky Deck.
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 23:50Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: Well, I just wanted to quickly mention that I went over to Red Rock, Naxos Taverna, a new restaurant there, invited uh me for dinner.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: Um, me and my friend Melissa went over there, had a fabulous dinner.
- 24:01Dayna Roselli: I love, you know what I loved?
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: First of all, I just wanted to comment that the restaurant was packed on a weekday.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: And I was happy to see that.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: I had a feeling, I think I told you I went to the media night and it was it just the staff was great and the food was really good that they had out.
- 24:15Dayna Roselli: They had like more samples.
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: So we actually went for a dinner.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: But here's my a couple of my takeaways.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: And it's funny because the woman, I think she was a manager, came out and asked me.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: So I'm gonna be honest, there was a pasta with crab, absolutely delicious.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: But the pasta, the it was like a spaghetti-ish, it was black.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: And I told her, as an Italian, it's really hard for me to eat black spaghetti.
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: It just didn't feel and she was like, she took the note and she's like, but it's so good.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: I'm like, no, listen, it's delicious.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: That was my only negative of the entire dinner.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: And it wasn't even a negative overall, it was me personally.
- 24:51Sean McAllister: Did it look unappealing in the presentation?
- 24:55Sean McAllister: Like it was that part of the thing?
- 24:58Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: It was like a thing in my head.
- 25:00Sean McAllister: It just looked, you know, or was the black pasta like a part of the presentation?
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: Well, it was the main no, it was part it was the black pasta and then the crab mixed in and on top.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: Okay, so there's like a white lump of crab on top that a red sauce sets it off.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: The crab was delicious.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: I mean, and the pasta was fine, tasted great.
- 25:22Dayna Roselli: I don't know, it was just one of my little things, but I talked to her about it, so I wanted to be honest, and I said, this is just my one little negative takeaway.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: Um, so we had a good conversation about that, and she thought she laughed.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: She was like, I see what you mean, blah, blah, blah.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: Um, but listen here, here's another amazing takeaway in a positive light.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: The chicken, and she was even saying, people don't usually order chicken when you go to a restaurant because you feel like I have a lot of chicken at home, right?
- 25:47Dayna Roselli: This chicken was the juiciest chicken I've ever had, best tasting chicken I've ever had.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 25:55Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 25:56Dayna Roselli: So, and I know they're known for a lot of their fish.
- 25:58Dayna Roselli: So we had an amazing um, like it was like a shrimp.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: I don't I'm terrible at describing food.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: I am not like a foodie in that way.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: But it we had this amazing shrimp.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: Um, gosh, the the starter, the pita, and the hummus was absolutely delicious.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: I had this tomato and beet salad that was great.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: Everything was great.
- 26:19Dayna Roselli: The presentation was great.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: And again, I will note the staff is just friendly and nice and helpful.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: And it's a great restaurant.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: I really, really enjoyed it.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: So Nexos Taverna over at Red Rock Resort.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 26:38Sean McAllister: Uh, Dana, we already talked about uh Chippendale, so why not throw some magic mic news in too?
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: They put out a little release and I my eyes popped open because I went anything at 5 p.m., I'm game as I get older.
- 26:52Sean McAllister: That means you can still be in bed by 9:30.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: Magic Mike Live at the Sahara is expanding its performance schedule with an added 5 p.m.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: show.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: Who doesn't love a good male review matinee?
- 27:05Sean McAllister: The early bird special.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: And the performances are gonna be on select Saturdays now through June, so you have time.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of fun.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: The show's also gonna debut this wild weeknights on April 19th.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: Um, so from then every Wednesday and Thursday night, they're gonna serve up these special surprises before the show.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: So it's chances to receive a complimentary meet and greet, some resort giveaways.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: So they're doing kind of a whole experience before the actual show.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: So I love that.
- 27:34Dayna Roselli: Tickets are available for Magic Mike Live at Magic Mike Live Los Vegas.com.
- 27:41Dayna Roselli: But yeah, a 5 p.m.
- 27:43Sean McAllister: I mean, you can't beat that.
- 27:45Sean McAllister: You can even do dinner after the show.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: Can I bring my iced coffee in there and sip on it?
- 27:50Sean McAllister: You should.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: My afternoon coffee.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: Maybe they can open a coffee bar, especially for the early evening show.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: But listen, sometimes people want to go to a show at 5 p.m.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: and they want to do a big dinner after.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: True.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: I mean, I think this is gonna do well.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: I'm really curious to see how it goes.
- 28:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, me too.
- 28:07Dayna Roselli: But good for you.
- 28:08Sean McAllister: Listen, they have the demand where they need to open up more showtime.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: So it's true.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: When I was looking, I was looking at the full schedule.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: Again, don't quote me on this, but I think I'm right.
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: Uh some nights they have a 5 p.m., 7:30, and a 10 show.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: So that there must be demand.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: You don't do that if there's not a demand.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: No way.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: So yeah.
- 28:25Dayna Roselli: Three nights, uh, three, sorry, three show times in one night.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: Pretty incredible.
- 28:29Sean McAllister: Wow, well done, Magic Mike.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:31Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, I had a very interesting dining experience recently that I wanted to share.
- 28:38Sean McAllister: It's called Blackout Dining in the Dark.
- 28:41Sean McAllister: And this is a concept that's been here in Las Vegas for several years now, but I've just never gone over to try it out.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: I drive by all the time.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: I've always wondered.
- 28:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, and I'm thinking, eh.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: But I I loved what you described to me.
- 28:57Dayna Roselli: So yeah, describe it for the listeners because this was really interesting.
- 29:00Sean McAllister: So dining in the dark is uh located kind of just uh behind the Rio on Valley View.
- 29:08Sean McAllister: And this is exactly what you would expect it to be.
- 29:11Sean McAllister: You are dining in a pitch black restaurant.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: So I was asking you, like, what's the point?
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: And then you explained, I'm like, okay, this makes sense.
- 29:23Sean McAllister: So the point of this whole thing is to open up your uh other senses.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: Like, no phones are allowed.
- 29:31Sean McAllister: There's lockers before you even go in where you lock up your phone so no light can get in there.
- 29:37Sean McAllister: The servers, by the way, are all wearing night vision goggles so that they can make their way around and and serve you.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: Um but that's the whole idea is if your your uh visual if your vision is taken away from you, then uh the theory while you're eating the meal is that it livens the other senses.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: Your hearing, which I I think my hearing was on high alert.
- 30:04Sean McAllister: Um you know, obviously taste, smell, touch.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: You have to use touch quite a bit because that's what you're relying on to know where your silverware is, where your drink is, how to eat out of a bowl.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: And you said you didn't know what you were eating.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: So they don't tell you like we're bringing out this is the next course.
- 30:26Sean McAllister: No, they have a set menu which changes uh uh twice a year, and I believe it's about to change again in July coming up this summer.
- 30:37Sean McAllister: But no, you don't know what you're eating, so that's part of the fun too, is trying to figure out with every bite like uh what is that crunch coming from?
- 30:46Sean McAllister: Did you get that like saltiness?
- 30:49Sean McAllister: What I it really is uh interesting.
- 30:53Sean McAllister: We guessed uh about nothing correctly.
- 30:57Sean McAllister: Really?
- 30:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, you do at the very end of your experience, you they do let you look at the menu to see what you were eating, and no clue on a lot of it.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: It was really good though.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: See, that would have worked well for the black pasta.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: If I was eating it in the dark, I would have never known, and it would have been delicious.
- 31:15Dayna Roselli: It may have changed your whole experience, and it was delicious, but yeah, like I was saying, it was just looking at it.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's so interesting.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: And so is it pre-paid, you said?
- 31:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's prepaid.
- 31:27Sean McAllister: It's uh$85 per person, which may sound steep, but it is uh an entire experience, and you get a seven-course meal.
- 31:38Sean McAllister: I mean, we did not leave hungry at all.
- 31:41Sean McAllister: I was very pleased with the size of the portions and all of that.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: You know what I was just thinking?
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: This is this could be a great, you know the show Love is Blind.
- 31:51Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 31:52Dayna Roselli: Where you can't see each other, but you talk and you get to know each other.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: So what if you were going on a first date and you said, I will meet you in there, and you had dinner at Blackout Dining and had a meal together and talked, but you don't see each other until you leave.
- 32:09Sean McAllister: Listen, I think that's a great idea.
- 32:12Sean McAllister: Uh you would both need to be very uh open and adventurous and willing to be able to pull something like that off successfully.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: I was like, that could be one of our um maybe we need to do like a Vegas TV show on that.
- 32:25Sean McAllister: I'd have friends staked out in the parking lot to sending me pictures of everybody that walked in.
- 32:31SPEAKER_03: Could be that one, could be that.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: Ooh, you better hope it's that one.
- 32:35Sean McAllister: No, that's a great idea though.
- 32:37Sean McAllister: And you know, it I didn't realize how much of a conversation piece like visual cues are for me.
- 32:47Sean McAllister: Like just how much conversation I make based off of things that I'm seeing.
- 32:52Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 32:53Sean McAllister: And it was just a total yeah, it was I didn't get uh totally acclimated in there.
- 32:59Sean McAllister: I was on I was looking around trying to see if I could get my bearings because I could hear this room full of people.
- 33:06Sean McAllister: And it sounded like people were right behind me, which they probably were, but you do pick up on other people's conversation a lot more, too.
- 33:15Sean McAllister: Interesting.
- 33:16Sean McAllister: When you when that's what you're focusing on.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: So don't gossip about other people.
- 33:20Sean McAllister: Don't gossip.
- 33:21Sean McAllister: No.
- 33:22Sean McAllister: You never know who's sitting behind you.
- 33:24Dayna Roselli: This whole thing is amazing to me.
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: I think this is an incredible tip.
- 33:28Dayna Roselli: Um, it's 3871 South Valley View Boulevard, dineblackout.com.
- 33:35Dayna Roselli: Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: Sean, I love this.
- 33:39Dayna Roselli: What a great tip!
- 33:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was really fun.
- 33:41Sean McAllister: I I recommend the experience.
- 33:43Sean McAllister: All right.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, that's it for us this week.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: Uh, we've got a lot to do, so we're gonna head out quickly.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: Don't mean to talk and run, but gotta go.
- 33:53Dayna Roselli: And we'll see you next week for episode, what are we on?
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: 165.
- 33:58Sean McAllister: 165 coming up next week.
