- 2:56Speaker 4: Show one hour and seven seconds.
- 2:59Speaker 2: It ended up being in good God, and you're not
- 3:01Speaker 2: even winded now. I have no doubt that we need
- 3:06Speaker 2: to do a charity event. You versus Gator Matt, because
- 3:08Speaker 2: I feel like you're getting ready.
- 3:10Speaker 5: You know what.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I was wondering what all this has been for, and
- 3:15Speaker 4: you just yeah, I didn't even think about this, Gator Matt,
- 3:19Speaker 4: Come on, let's do this.
- 3:21Speaker 2: If you would have told me a year ago, y'all
- 3:22Speaker 2: were gonna, you know, square up in a one on one,
- 3:24Speaker 2: one v one, I to put all my money on Matt.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Now I'm thinking about really just kind of hedging my
- 3:29Speaker 2: beds with you, because I don't know that Matt's even
- 3:31Speaker 2: training right now. I think he's just sitting in a sauna.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Yeah, probably, so he put it. He put in all
- 3:36Speaker 4: the work already this summer. So he's taken off until fall.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Speaking of work, and then uh taking off and whatever
- 3:46Speaker 2: you want to call this, this Jade and Daniels story.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Have you guys seen this? If you haven't, it is wild.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It broke sometime late last night. An attorney courtesy of ESPN.
- 3:56Speaker 2: An attorney representing Commander's quarterback Jaden Daniels informed ls you
- 4:00Speaker 2: Louisiana State University it can no longer use his name, image,
- 4:04Speaker 2: and likeness, and said he felt profoundly disrespected after LSU
- 4:10Speaker 2: allowed cornerback DJ Pickett to wear his former number five jersey. Now,
- 4:17Speaker 2: this story gets way weirder if that is a word,
- 4:21Speaker 2: than this LSU corner DJ Pickett, who is expected to
- 4:27Speaker 2: continue to wear number five at LSU. LSU has said
- 4:30Speaker 2: that he will wear number five, despite what Jade Daniels
- 4:33Speaker 2: attorney said. The letter informed LSU it can no longer
- 4:36Speaker 2: use Daniel's name, image, and light.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Let me start right there.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Number five is not specific to Jadeen Daniels Biaber, How
- 4:44Speaker 2: is this using his name, image and likeness. It's not
- 4:46Speaker 2: like they're putting Daniels on the back of the jersey.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, if we're showing video of Jade and
- 4:53Speaker 4: Daniel Jane Daniels highlights, Yes, but just the number five.
- 4:59Speaker 4: And but my favorite part of this was when they
- 5:01Speaker 4: said that number should be are they referred to it
- 5:06Speaker 4: as his number? His number should be protected protected. Let's
- 5:12Speaker 4: protect that number, Jake.
- 5:14Speaker 2: What happens if we start protecting all numbers? We run
- 5:17Speaker 2: out of numbers in football? I mean, this is a
- 5:20Speaker 2: wild story, and you know I have to believe this.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I was telling Rod with Mimsouppi Sports Medicine. I don't
- 5:27Speaker 2: believe these players come up with this. I believe that
- 5:30Speaker 2: whoever's in their camp comes up with this, an agent,
- 5:33Speaker 2: a friend, a family member.
- 5:36Speaker 5: This is ridiculous.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Let's see, and I'm looking to see the most popular
- 5:43Speaker 2: number five wearers ever in the history of LSU. Jaden
- 5:45Speaker 2: Daniels is the most popular. Of course, he's most recent.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Remember Darius Guice running back twenty fifteen to twenty seventeen.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Skyler Green was a wide receiver kickoff return of two
- 5:54Speaker 2: thousand and two to five. He had a great career
- 5:57Speaker 2: down there. He was an All American Carrie Vince since
- 6:00Speaker 2: junior corner twenty seven, twenty nineteen. And then of course
- 6:05Speaker 2: there's there's more. And you know, so if you look
- 6:08Speaker 2: at let me look at this real quick, because I
- 6:12Speaker 2: don't know what all numbers are retired.
- 6:17Speaker 5: At LSU. I'm trying to pull that up real quick.
- 6:20Speaker 2: The one person that's never grabbed about anything is Joe Burrow,
- 6:24Speaker 2: which is crazy. And I know that Jane Daniels had
- 6:26Speaker 2: very Joe Burrow like stats. He won the Heisman like
- 6:28Speaker 2: Burrow did. Burrow, though played on the arguably the most
- 6:32Speaker 2: electric offense it's ever ever been in college football. Twenty
- 6:37Speaker 2: let's see twenty football numbers I think have been retired
- 6:40Speaker 2: at LSU. Billy Cannon, you know war number two, see me,
- 6:44Speaker 2: Billy Cannon Warre number twenty that's retired. Number thirty seven,
- 6:47Speaker 2: Tommy Casanova that was in two thousand and nine, Number
- 6:50Speaker 2: twenty one, Jerry Stoveall these are iconic LSU Tigers. Number
- 6:54Speaker 2: four Charles Alexander that was retired in twenty twenty five,
- 6:58Speaker 2: Number seven, Burt Jones. Joe Burrow's number has not been retired.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It is still on the market. So this this story
- 7:06Speaker 2: gets even crazier. Matt Mascona reports the l s U
- 7:10Speaker 2: Jade and Daniel Saga takes another strange turn. Sources confirmed
- 7:13Speaker 2: Daniel's camp wants LSU to return its copy of the
- 7:16Speaker 2: Heisman Trophy, something LSU says they have no intentions of
- 7:19Speaker 2: doing biber Why would he ask for the Heisman Trophy back?
- 7:22Speaker 2: I mean, what did they do to tick him off
- 7:24Speaker 2: so bad?
- 7:25Speaker 5: Did this kid.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Wearing number five really that This is one of the
- 7:29Speaker 2: wildest stories that I've seen in quite a while. And
- 7:33Speaker 2: Jane Daniels, he had a comment on this. This is
- 7:37Speaker 2: courtesy of Ian Rappaport and this was an hour ago.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Jane Daniel says, quote, I've been locked in on training
- 7:43Speaker 2: camp and that's been my number one focus. I have
- 7:45Speaker 2: a lot of gratitude for my time at LSU, and
- 7:47Speaker 2: I'm proud of what my teammates and I accomplished there. Obviously,
- 7:50Speaker 2: there are issues to be worked out between my team
- 7:54Speaker 2: my team, uh he said it, my team in LSU,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and my hope is that it will get done privately,
- 8:00Speaker 2: my sole personal focus is on the Commander's football team.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I realized the business of football is unique, and I
- 8:06Speaker 2: trust this can all be resolved.
- 8:08Speaker 5: He said it right there.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I think before this was ever brought to the attention
- 8:12Speaker 2: of Jade Daniels, he didn't care. But again, the team,
- 8:17Speaker 2: what team, his whoever, his handlers, his agent, family members,
- 8:22Speaker 2: you know, because people are always looking to get rich
- 8:24Speaker 2: and look, he's already making a ton of money.
- 8:27Speaker 5: What do they want?
- 8:28Speaker 2: They wanted to not have, they wanted to buy the
- 8:30Speaker 2: number out. This is one of the weirdest stories that
- 8:33Speaker 2: I've seen in quite a while. But unfortunately that's where
- 8:36Speaker 2: we are in sports six or one eight eight, five, three,
- 8:38Speaker 2: seven seven six, That is the couple. Maloney's textign let
- 8:41Speaker 2: me get you some of the notes real quick. Dabo
- 8:44Speaker 2: Sweeney I had this to say about camp at Clemson.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Dabo says, on whether they have been there's been any
- 8:52Speaker 2: standouts in quote fall camp quote, everybody's just working.
- 8:55Speaker 5: We're just a bunch of nobodies.
- 8:57Speaker 2: We'll see if anybody becomes some body as we play
- 9:01Speaker 2: some games. So Davos downplaying his team, he said, Hey,
- 9:04Speaker 2: look we're nobody's. We're looking for somebody's. Maybe we become somebody,
- 9:09Speaker 2: but right now we're nobody's and we'll see once we
- 9:11Speaker 2: play some games. That's that's typical Davosweeney as he stands
- 9:17Speaker 2: at the podium. Hey, we're brought to you by misty

- 11:39Speaker 2: He has committed to Michigan. Tyson, Welcome in, brother.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Great see you, yes, sir, Thank you having.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Man, I appreciate you, all right. So I told you,
- 11:46Speaker 2: I mean, you look different like you look you look.
- 11:49Speaker 2: You've always looked good, but man, you look different. I
- 11:51Speaker 2: taught to coach Clinton. He said, Man, we've worked really
- 11:54Speaker 2: really hard in the off season. We've conditioned very well,
- 11:57Speaker 2: you know last year, and we won't get into much
- 11:59Speaker 2: of last year, but man, that was just a weird year.
- 12:02Speaker 2: It was a funny year. Kind of take us through.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Maybe how going through last year helped you guys get
- 12:06Speaker 2: ready for this year.
- 12:08Speaker 7: Uh, just to go through that adversity part because like
- 12:11Speaker 7: lost the coach, injuries, like different different different egos on
- 12:15Speaker 7: the team, so like it made us start coming together
- 12:18Speaker 7: the end of the year then go on the run.
- 12:20Speaker 7: We had showed us that like we could do anything
- 12:23Speaker 7: we really want to. We just got to do it
- 12:24Speaker 7: right in the beginning of the season to finish it.
- 12:27Speaker 5: You know when you look at it.
- 12:28Speaker 2: And I've heard coaches say this too, And I can
- 12:30Speaker 2: remember being way young many years ago and coaches talking about, hey, look,
- 12:34Speaker 2: if you go through a situation in a season where
- 12:37Speaker 2: maybe you're an underclassman and you don't like the way
- 12:39Speaker 2: things turned out, do it differently when you're a senior.
- 12:42Speaker 2: How have you guys, you Slaton and some others done
- 12:45Speaker 2: it differently so far this year?
- 12:46Speaker 7: Uh, leading in a bigger way, Like just for saying
- 12:50Speaker 7: during summer workouts, conditioning, take your head on, try to
- 12:54Speaker 7: be first, try to you know, lead by example, put
- 12:57Speaker 7: your heart out and talk. Just get these guys on
- 13:00Speaker 7: the same level of you.
- 13:01Speaker 2: On visit with Tyson Robinson, Brandon running back. He has
- 13:04Speaker 2: committed to Michigan and we headed to ann arbern Man.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Congratulations on that. Take us through that. You know we've
- 13:10Speaker 2: seen you know, the big ten come in here and
- 13:13Speaker 2: grab some guys. So we visit with Slaton Shock here
- 13:15Speaker 2: after you who's going to Illinois, You're going to Michigan.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You all be you know, rivals when you get to college.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But take us through the decision on Michigan.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Uh, the decision came from like just the coaching there.
- 13:26Speaker 7: Coach Alfred He's one of the best running back coaches
- 13:28Speaker 7: in history. He's at like Ezekiel Elliot and all the
- 13:31Speaker 7: big time backs come through Ohio State and now in Michigan,
- 13:34Speaker 7: he's produced some good backs.
- 13:36Speaker 3: So his leadership.
- 13:37Speaker 7: And then development part is like better than any coaching
- 13:41Speaker 7: resume out in college. And then he's believing and trusting
- 13:44Speaker 7: in me coming to the South when he said he
- 13:46Speaker 7: really don't recruit that much down here because people don't
- 13:48Speaker 7: get him kind of meant some So I think that's
- 13:50Speaker 7: what really took it over with Michigan.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And I promise you the Ohio state on my screen
- 13:54Speaker 2: was not perfect, not meant to be. I was just
- 13:56Speaker 2: looking at the article Ryan Day obviously here from at
- 13:59Speaker 2: ESP and it's gonna get cold up there.
- 14:02Speaker 5: It's gonna be COVID.
- 14:03Speaker 7: You gotta get used to it.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Well, look, that's gonna be a fun deal for you
- 14:07Speaker 2: when you look before you get then Now where you
- 14:08Speaker 2: go in in January, Yes, sir, going in January, take
- 14:11Speaker 2: us through kind of what those expectations here for you are?
- 14:15Speaker 2: You know, in your last year, here's a bulldog.
- 14:17Speaker 7: Uh really, I'm just focusing on high school, so, like
- 14:20Speaker 7: I just want to accomplish. Last had a down year
- 14:23Speaker 7: because I was injured. So this year, I just want
- 14:25Speaker 7: to have one of those standout years where I prove
- 14:28Speaker 7: the world wrong and all the haters they can set up.
- 14:30Speaker 7: So like I'm trying to chase something big this year
- 14:33Speaker 7: and win the championship and do something history it's never done.
- 14:36Speaker 2: You know, when you look at this, this group of teams,
- 14:38Speaker 2: this group of dogs coming through, kind of you know,
- 14:40Speaker 2: you don't have to talk about all the players here,
- 14:41Speaker 2: but just kind of what you like about this team.
- 14:44Speaker 7: Uh, this team is hungry. Just really Coach Clinton Mada
- 14:47Speaker 7: like that though. So like this year coming up, some
- 14:50Speaker 7: of the workouts you've seen the guys. The first day
- 14:53Speaker 7: we ran four miles with a forty five playing our
- 14:56Speaker 7: backpack around the school. So like if you quit, then
- 15:01Speaker 7: you wasn't on the team, and everybody stays with that
- 15:03Speaker 7: kind of show you we got some heart out here
- 15:05Speaker 7: when I might might not be the biggest, but we
- 15:07Speaker 7: show got to tempt.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Got a new offensive coordinator. We'll visit with Justin Hunter
- 15:12Speaker 2: before we get out of here today. Take us through
- 15:14Speaker 2: what that offense may look like this.
- 15:16Speaker 7: Year a lot more like Sam offense is kind of
- 15:19Speaker 7: the same in a way.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I love.
- 15:21Speaker 7: I think it's very similar and it's kind of gonna
- 15:25Speaker 7: break a game out where we just score a bunch
- 15:27Speaker 7: of points.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Visit with Tyson Robinson Brandon running back Thursday edition of
- 15:31Speaker 2: the program. Got some other guys in that backfield. Take
- 15:35Speaker 2: us through some of the guys that we be playing with.
- 15:36Speaker 7: You there, Oh Kingston Kingston Kingston Mays. I believe that's
- 15:40Speaker 7: the last name. Kings is gonna be a great bat.
- 15:42Speaker 7: He kind of resembled C. J. Morten in a way. Yeah,
- 15:45Speaker 7: so he very powerful, one foot, he gonna he ain't
- 15:50Speaker 7: gonna touch him.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Let's get you on your way with this time. I
- 15:52Speaker 5: do appreciate your time today.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Obviously you've got a full season to play here on
- 15:56Speaker 2: this field right here and of course throughout the state
- 15:58Speaker 2: of Mississippi. But what it's meant to you to play
- 16:01Speaker 2: for this school, you know, I know there were times
- 16:03Speaker 2: probably where you thought, or maybe maybe you didn't. We say, hey,
- 16:05Speaker 2: look man, I just I think I may want to
- 16:06Speaker 2: go play somewhere else and finish my high school career.
- 16:08Speaker 2: You finished, You're gonna finish it here. What that means
- 16:11Speaker 2: to you to be, you know, be a Bulldog and
- 16:12Speaker 2: finish it here.
- 16:13Speaker 7: It means a lot. I mean, it's it definitely been
- 16:15Speaker 7: some times where I've thought about it, but just just
- 16:18Speaker 7: coming down at the end of the day, it's the
- 16:20Speaker 7: best place you could be and the people around just
- 16:22Speaker 7: gonna make sure you straight.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Tyson Robinson on your radio, Bulldogs kick it off. They
- 16:26Speaker 2: got a preseason game next third next Friday against Warren
- 16:29Speaker 2: Central and then'le head to two Plow for Game one, Tyson,
- 16:32Speaker 2: if you'll hang around, I know Rod's gonna talk to you.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I appreciate you today. Thanks so much, Tyson. Robinson on
- 16:37Speaker 2: your radio and you can set that down right there.
- 16:39Speaker 2: We got a few minutes here and we'll get slat
- 16:40Speaker 2: and shack next segment. The quarterback for the Brandon Bulldogs.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Let me get you some more notes here real quick.
- 16:47Speaker 2: We were talking about Dabbo Swingey. Later on we're gonna get
- 16:50Speaker 2: to who has the best jersey patch?
- 16:53Speaker 1: Man.
- 16:53Speaker 2: There's some really really good jersey patches out there that
- 16:55Speaker 2: I want to get into. Uh, some of these are
- 16:57Speaker 2: not good, but some of these are very good. Also,
- 17:00Speaker 2: UCLA transfer guard Sky Clark has committed to LSU. Remember
- 17:05Speaker 2: we talked earlier in the week. LSU basketball only had
- 17:09Speaker 2: four guys as they opened school, and so now they've
- 17:14Speaker 2: got five or six. They're starting to bring some of
- 17:15Speaker 2: those guys in under Will Wade. Also, the Florida Gators
- 17:18Speaker 2: have announced they're gonna wear all blue uniforms this season.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Gator Matt would have to tell me this. I thought
- 17:23Speaker 5: they've already done this.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Maybe I'm just misremembering, but the Florida Gator is going
- 17:27Speaker 2: to be an All Blue this year. They say that
- 17:29Speaker 2: they have not done that. Also, we'll get into Chris
- 17:31Speaker 2: Loo's college football playoff prediction. He has Ohio State winning
- 17:35Speaker 2: the national title. And again I've told you we're gonna
- 17:37Speaker 2: We've gone through several of these. I've got Texas, he's
- 17:40Speaker 2: got Ohio State, others have you know, Notre Dame, some
- 17:44Speaker 2: have Oregon. It's a wide open field. We'll get into
- 17:46Speaker 2: Chris Low's projections of his college football playoff down the
- 17:50Speaker 2: road here in the show. Also little NFL news from
- 17:52Speaker 2: Ian Rappaport. Carson Beck won't play tonight in the preseason
- 17:56Speaker 2: game against the Raiders due to a rib injury sustaining
- 17:58Speaker 2: last Thursday Hall of Fame game. The injury is not
- 18:01Speaker 2: considered serious. Back practice through soren us all week, but
- 18:04Speaker 2: the team decided to keep him out of any kind
- 18:07Speaker 2: of contact this week and just a precaution. They figure
- 18:12Speaker 2: he'll be back coming up here next week. And again
- 18:15Speaker 2: we were telling you about Jaden Daniels and everything going
- 18:18Speaker 2: on down at LSU. Not happy with a defensive back
- 18:21Speaker 2: wearing his number five, which again, the jersey's not retired.
- 18:25Speaker 5: The jersey is still there. It's available. Also, the Ape Pole.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Will be released coming up in as Brett mc murphy says,
- 18:32Speaker 2: ninety six hours, So that'll be this weekend, probably Sunday,
- 18:36Speaker 2: and we'll get into Brett mc murphy's top twenty five.
- 18:39Speaker 2: He has released his AP ballot and just to kind
- 18:41Speaker 2: of give you a teaser on that, let me find
- 18:45Speaker 2: that in the stack of stuff here, he's got Oregon
- 18:47Speaker 2: number one, preseason number one. I told you it's just
- 18:50Speaker 2: a wide open field. You've got so many teams I
- 18:53Speaker 2: think in college football this year, where the money that's
- 18:55Speaker 2: been spent, the players that are on each team, the
- 18:58Speaker 2: talent is really distributed, are distributed evenly, and there's not
- 19:02Speaker 2: a dimes worth a difference in about eight or nine
- 19:04Speaker 2: of these teams. We're brought to you by Maristar Casino,

- 21:10Speaker 5: We're in Brandon today. Bulldogs on your radio.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Today, it's Bulldog Day on the Mississippi Sports Medicine an

- 21:19Speaker 2: has committed he'll play his college football for the University
- 21:22Speaker 2: of Illinois. Slaton Man, good to see brother. How you
- 21:24Speaker 2: doing good to see man, You're looking good, just like Tyson.
- 21:27Speaker 2: We've been talking about that, and I know all football
- 21:30Speaker 2: teams work out, but that's kind of been the vibe
- 21:33Speaker 2: around town is that you guys have been I mean
- 21:35Speaker 2: not even nothing, I mean from basically spring until now
- 21:38Speaker 2: working out.
- 21:39Speaker 3: For sure, it's been the hardest summer we've had yet
- 21:41Speaker 3: and I've loved every bit of it.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So take us through. You know, we were talking to
- 21:45Speaker 2: Tyson about it. You know, last year not the year
- 21:48Speaker 2: that you know, people wanted around here. It's not the
- 21:50Speaker 2: kind of year that people around here are used to.
- 21:52Speaker 2: There was a lot of you know, circumstances that you
- 21:54Speaker 2: guys couldn't control. There were some things you could control.
- 21:56Speaker 2: You guys ended up ending on a good note. Made
- 21:58Speaker 2: the run to South State again and I think that
- 22:00Speaker 2: was year number five, five straight times to South State.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Kind of take us through what maybe you guys learned
- 22:05Speaker 2: about last year that can help you this year.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Well, for starters, preparation, it all starts with that, and
- 22:11Speaker 3: I don't feel like we were getting prepared for Friday
- 22:13Speaker 3: Night until about week seven when Coach Clinton came in
- 22:17Speaker 3: and then we started actually getting reps on offense and
- 22:22Speaker 3: it showed on Friday nights. But that and respect, I mean,
- 22:29Speaker 3: there was a lot of things that we didn't have.
- 22:30Speaker 3: We were all over the place with small things to
- 22:33Speaker 3: big things, and it all adds up.
- 22:35Speaker 2: And now that you're a senior, you and Tyson amongst others,
- 22:38Speaker 2: but you two guys are the face of the program
- 22:41Speaker 2: where you go, your team will follow. What's it been
- 22:45Speaker 2: like to be, you know, kind of the front end
- 22:46Speaker 2: of this program now as a leader.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I mean it's been good kind of year to year,
- 22:51Speaker 3: just taking a little bit bigger of a step in leadership.
- 22:54Speaker 3: But like I've always led by example, I've kind of
- 22:57Speaker 3: had to open up a little bit more with like
- 22:59Speaker 3: both speaking. I don't really like to sit there and
- 23:03Speaker 3: you know, yeah a lot, but I'll lead by example.
- 23:05Speaker 3: But this year I've had to you know, kind of
- 23:07Speaker 3: talk a little bit more because there's not as many
- 23:09Speaker 3: people to say what needs to be said.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Slide and shock on your radio. He is so one
- 23:13Speaker 2: of the captains here along with Tyson Robbins from the
- 23:15Speaker 2: Brandon Bulldogs twenty twenty six edition of their team. Offensively
- 23:20Speaker 2: this year, Tyson talked about it, said, you guys are
- 23:23Speaker 2: going to be more multiple. You guys are going to
- 23:24Speaker 2: open it up something obviously that you get you guys
- 23:27Speaker 2: are used to, you know, back prior to last year,
- 23:29Speaker 2: but to get back to opening up the football with
- 23:31Speaker 2: the football this year.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, So last year we ran i mean pretty much
- 23:36Speaker 3: we ran a five minute offense the whole year. We're
- 23:38Speaker 3: getting down to we're running fast as we can. Our
- 23:42Speaker 3: playbooks probably three times the size of it was last year,
- 23:45Speaker 3: and just going week to week, narrowing it down and
- 23:47Speaker 3: being really good at what we gotta do that Friday.
- 23:51Speaker 2: You know, people talk about tempo and offense, and you
- 23:54Speaker 2: know that's that's kind of been the buzzword for a
- 23:57Speaker 2: number of years.
- 23:57Speaker 5: And when do we run tempo?
- 23:58Speaker 2: You know you'll hear Plane hit the gas talk a
- 24:01Speaker 2: little bit about tempo and how you guys use it.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I mean, you don't go fast all the time, but
- 24:06Speaker 2: there's times where you picking cheers.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I feel like tempo is definitely good. But at the
- 24:11Speaker 3: end of the day, it's a lot easier to slow
- 24:13Speaker 3: down than it is to speed up. But I mean
- 24:17Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter, when you got fourth and one,
- 24:19Speaker 3: you really can't run tempo at the end of day.
- 24:20Speaker 3: You've got to be able to run the ball and
- 24:22Speaker 3: and do what you're good at when the one of
- 24:25Speaker 3: the defenses caught their breath.
- 24:28Speaker 2: A lot of buzz about the receivers that should be
- 24:29Speaker 2: throwing to this year, just kind of take us through
- 24:31Speaker 2: what that unit looks like this year.
- 24:33Speaker 3: We have we got four good receivers. We got two
- 24:37Speaker 3: receivers that can roll. One of them is a four
- 24:39Speaker 3: to three. He's he can he can go get the ball.
- 24:42Speaker 3: He's six foot deep threat. Then you got another one,
- 24:45Speaker 3: really shifty, really fast guy, Brandon Steel. And then right
- 24:51Speaker 3: now we lost Graden he's at baseball. But we're trying
- 24:53Speaker 3: to really figure out who that X and H will be.
- 24:56Speaker 3: And we got some good we got some good guys,
- 24:58Speaker 3: but that Y and Z your lockdown for sure.
- 25:02Speaker 2: You know when you look at you know, this year
- 25:04Speaker 2: as far as camp, what else is I mean, obviously
- 25:06Speaker 2: you guys that you're getting to the point you're probably
- 25:08Speaker 2: because football never ends, right, you go through spring, then
- 25:11Speaker 2: you go through seven on seven. You know, it's much
- 25:14Speaker 2: different than it used to be. It's like you never
- 25:16Speaker 2: really leave, right, So you're getting probably to the to
- 25:18Speaker 2: the point to where you're ready to see another jersey.
- 25:21Speaker 2: What you will next week in a preseason game and
- 25:23Speaker 2: then the first game going to two plow. What's kind
- 25:25Speaker 2: of left for you guys to clean up as you
- 25:27Speaker 2: get ready for you know, next week in the following.
- 25:29Speaker 3: We've had a great two weeks of fall camp, and
- 25:34Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, we just we just got to put
- 25:36Speaker 3: the small things back together, just figure out what we're
- 25:39Speaker 3: really really good at and keep her affecting our craft,
- 25:42Speaker 3: and we'll be ready to row.
- 25:45Speaker 2: You headed to Illinois to play your college football. I
- 25:48Speaker 2: was visiting with your dad. I told you about that
- 25:49Speaker 2: as you guys were going through that process. What made
- 25:52Speaker 2: Illinois right for you?
- 25:55Speaker 3: I had a really good relationship with the coaches when
- 25:57Speaker 3: I went up there. I was, you know, able to
- 26:00Speaker 3: see that I fit in around. There's a lot more
- 26:02Speaker 3: country than I thought up there. The people were cool. Uh.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Coach Beelum was a great guy. And at the end
- 26:09Speaker 3: of the day, I want to get she uh developed
- 26:14Speaker 3: at the highest level I can get. And I feel
- 26:16Speaker 3: like I can get developed there at a at a
- 26:18Speaker 3: really high level.
- 26:19Speaker 2: And we've seen, you know, Mississippi guys go up there
- 26:21Speaker 2: recently and play and do well.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 26:24Speaker 5: So that's got to you know.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Help a little bit, knowing, Hey, look, this isn't the
- 26:27Speaker 2: first time somebody's done this, you know. And it's just
- 26:30Speaker 2: like with uh, when Gardner Minshew came through here and
- 26:32Speaker 2: I visit with him and his father about his decision
- 26:34Speaker 2: to go to Washington State, and you know, kind of
- 26:36Speaker 2: one of the things was, Hey, if you don't mind
- 26:38Speaker 2: going off like way off, and both you guys are going,
- 26:41Speaker 2: you know, basically close to the same place.
- 26:43Speaker 5: I mean, you know, uh it told Gardner it.
- 26:46Speaker 2: You know, hey, look, if you didn't mind going, don't
- 26:47Speaker 2: mind going to the far west corner of the country,
- 26:49Speaker 2: then you're fine. Obviously that doesn't bother you guys, you
- 26:52Speaker 2: know to go to go leave home and go do
- 26:54Speaker 2: that as well.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. I mean, it ain't too far. It's
- 26:57Speaker 3: gonna be an eight hour drive for me, a little
- 26:58Speaker 3: farther for Tyson, but I'll be able to make it
- 27:01Speaker 3: home if I need to, and farther enough from home
- 27:04Speaker 3: where I can you know, kind of get away.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Visiting with Slaton Shack. He is the quarterback here.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Brandon Bulldogs have a preseason game next week against Warren Central.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Then they'll open it up with two blow. If he
- 27:14Speaker 2: had one team on your schedule this year, you're looking
- 27:15Speaker 2: to play. If you can only play one, who's it
- 27:17Speaker 2: going to be like? If you just pick one game.
- 27:25Speaker 3: They're all good. I'm ready to roll. But I mean
- 27:28Speaker 3: you can start off week one.
- 27:29Speaker 2: There you go, right, I mean you got to think,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I mean, played them twice, have it done? You you know,
- 27:35Speaker 2: you guys haven't played your best ball, I don't think
- 27:37Speaker 2: against them, So that will be a big matchup coming
- 27:39Speaker 2: up on the blue turf here in two weeks from
- 27:41Speaker 2: tomorrow night.
- 27:41Speaker 3: That's gonna be great.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Well, look, hey man, appreciate you as always, best of
- 27:44Speaker 2: luck this year, and look we'll talk soon. Thank you
- 27:47Speaker 2: Slayton Shack on your radio. As so we move forward here.
- 27:50Speaker 2: We also appreciate Tyson Robinson jumping in with us as always.
- 27:54Speaker 2: We're gonna have Coach Clinton coming in here not too
- 27:58Speaker 2: much longer from now. They've got a little different skill
- 28:00Speaker 2: scheduled today. They'll have a scrimmage tonight somewhere around seven
- 28:03Speaker 2: forty five, and then also they'll have I think meet
- 28:07Speaker 2: the Dogs tonight. Appreciate you guys, taught to you soon,
- 28:11Speaker 2: and so they kind of got their schedule flipped. Here
- 28:13Speaker 2: is teams are starting to do the whole meet and greets,
- 28:16Speaker 2: you know, welcome to the kids, back to school meet,
- 28:19Speaker 2: the baseball teams, meet the basketball team. So that's kind
- 28:21Speaker 2: of where they are, and they'll have a scrimmage tonight.
- 28:23Speaker 2: All right, six one eighty five, three, seven, seven six,
- 28:26Speaker 2: Let's go through Brett McMurphy's Top twenty five. This is
- 28:29Speaker 2: his AP ballot for the top twenty five, and of
- 28:32Speaker 2: course the AP should drop, he said, ninety six hours.
- 28:34Speaker 2: So we're looking somewhere around Sunday or Monday. Oregon number
- 28:38Speaker 2: one on his list as the number one team since
- 28:41Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, Oregon is thirty eight and oh against
- 28:43Speaker 2: teams that did not reach the National Title Game.
- 28:46Speaker 5: I want you to think about that.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Oregon since twenty twenty three is thirty eight and oh
- 28:51Speaker 2: against teams that did not reach the National championship. So
- 28:54Speaker 2: you're talking about Indiana's the team that beat them. Ohio
- 28:58Speaker 2: State is a team and beat them. Other than that,
- 29:01Speaker 2: I mean, this team has been rolling over the last
- 29:04Speaker 2: number of years. Unfortunately, they're zero to five against title
- 29:06Speaker 2: game participants. You know, they lost in twenty twenty three
- 29:11Speaker 2: runner up Washington. They lost twice, and I forget about that,
- 29:14Speaker 2: you know when I was kind of going through my head.
- 29:15Speaker 2: They lost in Indiana and they lost to Ohio's date,
- 29:19Speaker 2: but they lost to Washington twice. The year Michael Penicks
- 29:22Speaker 2: in Washington along with Kaylen Devoor went to the National
- 29:24Speaker 2: Championship Game twice. They lost to Washington that year. I
- 29:27Speaker 2: think they finished ten to two or eleven to two
- 29:29Speaker 2: that year, and then twice to Indiana. Last year they
- 29:34Speaker 2: lost in overtime in Eugene, then they lost in the playoffs,
- 29:38Speaker 2: and then they lost to Ohio State. Those thirty eight
- 29:40Speaker 2: wins are the nation's most in the past three years,
- 29:44Speaker 2: but they only have the twenty twenty four Big Ten
- 29:47Speaker 2: title to show for it. This year, the Ducks, you know,
- 29:49Speaker 2: have the scar tissue, quote and talent to finally break
- 29:52Speaker 2: through the program, through the program's ceiling, so to speak,
- 29:56Speaker 2: for the first national championship. Dante woron a deep defensive
- 29:59Speaker 2: front along with some great skill position players. Put Oregon
- 30:03Speaker 2: at number one for Brett McMurphy, Ohio State number two.
- 30:06Speaker 2: And again, you know, we've talked at length about this
- 30:08Speaker 2: team with Julian Saying at quarterback, Jeremiah Smith at wide receiver,
- 30:12Speaker 2: arguably college football's best player regardless of position, new offensive coordinator,
- 30:16Speaker 2: and Arthur Smith. So this team, you know, you'll get
- 30:20Speaker 2: to see there all checked in Week one against Texas,
- 30:23Speaker 2: and of course conversely, Texas is all checked against Ohio
- 30:26Speaker 2: State number three for Brett McMurphy. He's got Georgia In
- 30:30Speaker 2: the past five years, Georgia has been the nation's best program,
- 30:33Speaker 2: winning consecutive national titles in twenty one and twenty two
- 30:36Speaker 2: three SEC championships in the past three years. Georgia hasn't
- 30:40Speaker 2: exactly been quote dog meat, as McMurphy puts it, But
- 30:43Speaker 2: the Bulldogs have slipped just a little bit, ever so slightly.
- 30:47Speaker 2: They're two SEC title games appearances in twenty four and
- 30:50Speaker 2: twenty five. They went oh to two in the College
- 30:51Speaker 2: Football playoff, So they're looking to, you know, really kind
- 30:55Speaker 2: of recap that Georgia magic number four, Notre Dame and
- 31:00Speaker 2: number five. This is interesting to me for Brett McMurphy,
- 31:03Speaker 2: and we'll talk about that we come back. He's got
- 31:05Speaker 2: a team I haven't seen rank this high. It is
- 31:07Speaker 2: one of the teams in the top fifteen. You keep
- 31:09Speaker 2: seeing flow. I'm a little interested in this. We'll get
- 31:13Speaker 2: to that and more. We're brought to you by Live Oaks,
- 31:14Speaker 2: Got Tolive OAKSGC dot com, Get out, play some golf,
- 31:16Speaker 2: gt you membership and of course daily rates, dine and
- 31:21Speaker 2: eat at Roosevelt's restaurant. The pool is open at Live Oaks.

- 33:34Speaker 2: coming in at four thirty as so we'll talk a
- 33:37Speaker 2: little sports game and we're going through Brett McMurphy's AP
- 33:41Speaker 2: Top twenty five.
- 33:42Speaker 5: I like the way Brett does this.
- 33:43Speaker 2: He's always first in line just to get things out
- 33:46Speaker 2: there before the actual AP drops. He's going to take
- 33:50Speaker 2: the smoke his top five and the AP is going
- 33:53Speaker 2: to be out either Sunday or Monday. And you know,
- 33:57Speaker 2: if I got to go buy a poll before the
- 33:58Speaker 2: college football playoff pole, well, I'll be honest with you,
- 34:01Speaker 2: I may lean in more on like an ON three
- 34:03Speaker 2: pole or a CBS Sports dot com pole, or a
- 34:06Speaker 2: two four seven pole. Heckor even Beaver's pole for that matter,
- 34:11Speaker 2: not the coaches pole, the ap pole. I'll give it
- 34:14Speaker 2: some credits, of course, because it's been around so long.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Oregon number one, Ohio state number two, Georgia number three,
- 34:21Speaker 2: notre name numer four.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Bred M murphy has Texas Tech at number five. That
- 34:24Speaker 5: is the highest.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Preseason ranking of any prediction model that I have seen
- 34:30Speaker 2: this year.
- 34:31Speaker 5: At five.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Now, it's a really good team. Don't get me wrong,
- 34:34Speaker 2: this is a really good football team. Mc murphy's take
- 34:37Speaker 2: on Texas Texas. When we last left Texas Tech, the
- 34:39Speaker 2: Red Raiders were getting wrecked and shut out by Oregon
- 34:42Speaker 2: in last year's College Football Playoff. Since then, they're projected
- 34:45Speaker 2: starting quarterback acquired through the transfer portal, was ruled ineligible
- 34:48Speaker 2: for gambling, then eligible. The lawsuits started flying around Lubbock,
- 34:54Speaker 2: as he says, like tortillas before Brenton Sorosby finally left
- 34:58Speaker 2: the program. This, along with the Red aggressively an aggressive
- 35:02Speaker 2: nil strategy, has made Texas Tech's most hated team.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Coach Jerry maguire or Joey McGuire. I called him Jerry
- 35:08Speaker 5: McGuire Joey maguire.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Quote, absolutely loves it and loves the villain role. Even
- 35:13Speaker 2: without Soresby, Tech remains the Big twelve's deepest and most
- 35:16Speaker 2: talented team. While many are downgrading Tech with quarterback Will Hammond,
- 35:21Speaker 2: maguire said, if Hamdon hadn't suffered a torn acl last October,
- 35:25Speaker 2: they wouldn't have pursued Soresby. With a very manageable schedule,
- 35:29Speaker 2: the Red Raiders have to win the Big Twelve to
- 35:31Speaker 2: get into the playoff, and once they do, they have.
- 35:34Speaker 5: A lot to prove.
- 35:35Speaker 2: So I thought this was interesting that he put Texas
- 35:37Speaker 2: Tech this high again, you know, somewhere around nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
- 35:42Speaker 2: but at number five Texas Tech. Number six on his
- 35:46Speaker 2: list is Texas that automate. Steve sarkisian a little angry
- 35:50Speaker 2: remember the little beef that Texas and Texas Tech had
- 35:53Speaker 2: a few months ago in the media, And I wondered
- 35:55Speaker 2: if McMurphy didn't do this to try to salt the
- 35:57Speaker 2: wound just a little bit. Texas at number six, Indiana
- 36:00Speaker 2: at number seven. It says how Will Kurt Signetti top
- 36:03Speaker 2: last season's national championship in Indiana, walk on water, question mark,
- 36:08Speaker 2: turn water into wine. Doubt Signetti at your own risk
- 36:12Speaker 2: if you must, which looks like I'm doing, he says,
- 36:15Speaker 2: in not only ranking the Hoosiers at number seven, but
- 36:18Speaker 2: he also says there.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Has been at least a little regression at some point.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Right, all but one of the transfers that came to
- 36:24Speaker 2: Indiana from James Madison with Signetti are gone.
- 36:27Speaker 5: And I want you to think about this. This doesn't
- 36:29Speaker 5: get talked about enough.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Indiana's talent ratio or their four year average or three
- 36:36Speaker 2: year average, ever you want to quantify this up, because
- 36:38Speaker 2: now with the transfer portal was somewhere around the mid thirties,
- 36:41Speaker 2: which is very average in talent. They had a ton
- 36:47Speaker 2: of James Madison guys that helped on this national championship run.
- 36:52Speaker 2: And that's no disrespect to James Madison. It's not like
- 36:55Speaker 2: they brought.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Over a bunch of Michigan guys or Georgia guys or
- 36:59Speaker 5: bam My guys James Madison. Think about that.
- 37:03Speaker 2: But most of the James Madison crew is gone. TCU
- 37:06Speaker 2: transferred Josh Hoover, who brings a big arm, but also
- 37:09Speaker 2: turnover issues. Replaces Heisman winner for Nando Mendoza. The defense
- 37:13Speaker 2: received a surprise so with a return of defensive ends
- 37:16Speaker 2: Stephen Daley and Kelly Wyatt. Over the last two years,
- 37:19Speaker 2: Indiana has been the nation's best where a plus thirty
- 37:23Speaker 2: seven turnover margin. We were talking turnover margin about three
- 37:25Speaker 2: weeks ago, and it's just wild what Indiana has done
- 37:30Speaker 2: in the turnover margin category. Plus thirty seven historically a
- 37:33Speaker 2: statistic that evens out the following season, and it does.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Typically you see the EBB and flow of turnover margin.
- 37:41Speaker 2: You'll see a team that'll be plus seven and turnover
- 37:43Speaker 2: margin this year. Next year they may be minus one,
- 37:46Speaker 2: or they may be plus one, or they may be
- 37:48Speaker 2: minus five.
- 37:50Speaker 5: But yeah, plus thirty seven.
- 37:51Speaker 2: The Miami Hurricanes checking at number eight for Brett mc
- 37:53Speaker 2: murphy on the preseason AP Top twenty five. This is
- 37:56Speaker 2: his ballot again, I think Miami. Look if I close
- 38:02Speaker 2: my eyes and open the him and we were at
- 38:03Speaker 2: the National Championship at the end of the National Championship
- 38:06Speaker 2: game in the Miami Hurricanes, we're about to win. I
- 38:07Speaker 2: wouldn't be surprised. Malaka, Tony, I'm gonna continue to say this.
- 38:12Speaker 2: I think pound for pound, he's the best player in
- 38:14Speaker 2: college football. I think he's the most explosive guy on
- 38:17Speaker 2: the field every week just because of where you can
- 38:21Speaker 2: line him up. He's very similar to Devonte Smith when
- 38:25Speaker 2: he was at Alabama. They got a workhorse in Mark
- 38:28Speaker 2: Fletcher at running back. They've got Darien Mensa committed at
- 38:31Speaker 2: quarterback that They've got guys for days.
- 38:33Speaker 5: I would not be surprised.
- 38:35Speaker 2: To see Miami make a big run again this year.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Number nine Ole Miss brat mcmurpey puts the Rebels at
- 38:40Speaker 2: number nine. He said, not sure if you've heard, but
- 38:42Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin is no longer the coach at ole Miss.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Pete Golding is the new sheriff in charge, and the
- 38:47Speaker 2: Rebels defensive coordinator did an admirable job last year after
- 38:50Speaker 2: Kiffin's messy exit, guiding almost to two playoff wins before
- 38:54Speaker 2: a crushing down to the final play lost to Miami
- 38:58Speaker 2: in the College Football Playoff semi final. Trinidad Chambliss and
- 39:02Speaker 2: runn back Kwan Lacey declined overtures allegedly to join Kiffin
- 39:06Speaker 2: at LSU, and they give all Miss one of the
- 39:08Speaker 2: top quarterback running back duos in the country, imposing lineman
- 39:12Speaker 2: Will Eccles and Cam Franklin will anchor Golden's defense, said,
- 39:17Speaker 2: set on alarm now for seven thirty Eastern time on
- 39:19Speaker 2: September nineteenth to tune into the lu versus All Miss
- 39:23Speaker 2: game in Oxford. And number ten I thought was another
- 39:27Speaker 2: interesting team for Brett McMurphy. I think Texas Tech at five.
- 39:33Speaker 2: At number ten, he has Washington the Huskies. Now, this
- 39:38Speaker 2: is a team that I've seen some national pundits put
- 39:42Speaker 2: in some sort of a college football playoff. Dark course.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Washington is a good program. It's a steady program. They
- 39:48Speaker 2: played for a national championship against Michigan a couple years
- 39:51Speaker 2: ago with Kaylyn de Boor as their head coach. They've
- 39:55Speaker 2: got a quarterback in Demond Williams Junior who is really good.
- 39:58Speaker 5: He's back.
- 39:59Speaker 2: They've all so got several skill talent players that they
- 40:03Speaker 2: believe in. They've got guys on the offensive, a defensive front.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Jetfish takes over the play calling duties for the Washington Husky.
- 40:11Speaker 2: So I thought this was an interesting pick at number
- 40:13Speaker 2: ten for Brett McMurphy. Number eleven Texas A and m
- 40:16Speaker 2: number twelve Oklahoma number thirteen, BYU number fourteen, Michigan number fifteen,
- 40:22Speaker 2: LSU number sixteen, SMU number seventeen, Utah number eighteen, Penn
- 40:28Speaker 2: State nineteen, Houston, and Alabama at number twenty. We'll get
- 40:32Speaker 2: to the rest of this and calling through this from
- 40:33Speaker 2: Brett McMurphy. We've got several other things to get into
- 40:36Speaker 2: as well. We're Brandon today on a Thursday. Bulldog down
