- 0:33Speaker 1: About coot.
- 1:29Speaker 2: All right, and I'm gonna ask you this this morning.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Are you up with the growing inventory over at Fecto Homes?
- 1:38Speaker 2: Have you seen have you noticed when you've driven by
- 1:43Speaker 2: right there on UD three to ZHO two, the incredible inventory.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yesterday had to give a little extra tap in the
- 1:57Speaker 2: brakes because I was looking over there and I was like, oh,
- 2:00Speaker 2: oh my god, I got to swing in there and
- 2:02Speaker 2: I have a walk through that one. It's gonna happen soon.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Fecto Holmes give them a jingle today two two nine,
- 2:08Speaker 2: twenty seven twenty one. Stop by have a look at
- 2:13Speaker 2: something yourself too. I'm telling you you're going to be
- 2:17Speaker 2: surprised how easy it is to get into one of
- 2:21Speaker 2: these single wides double wides manufactured homes duplexus. Their inventory
- 2:30Speaker 2: is bursting at the seams. They're ready for cold weather,
- 2:32Speaker 2: are you. We have a lot to get to this morning.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I also want to say, before we dive in, make
- 2:41Speaker 2: this week a movie week with FGB Theaters. You got
- 2:47Speaker 2: the Capitol Theater in Mundpillier, you got the Paramount right
- 2:50Speaker 2: here on North Main Street, and Berry just got on
- 2:54Speaker 2: FGB theaters dot com. Have a look at the movies
- 2:57Speaker 2: the Odyssey. I know is is pretty hot right now,
- 3:01Speaker 2: but there's some great flecks. Man, the summer blockbusters are
- 3:04Speaker 2: continue ing. Summer is far from over, at least I
- 3:11Speaker 2: say it is.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I know school is is starting up. The words back
- 3:20Speaker 2: to school is huge. We had our ice cream social
- 3:27Speaker 2: at our school yesterday. I didn't have seconds, but I
- 3:34Speaker 2: did have firsts with extra chocolate syrup, and it was
- 3:38Speaker 2: so good. It's so exciting, though, at least it is
- 3:45Speaker 2: for my little girl. For me, I wasn't a big
- 3:48Speaker 2: fan of the whole back to school. Those were three buzzwords.
- 3:51Speaker 2: It just wasn't a huge fan of. But she's so excited.
- 3:55Speaker 2: It's great to meet the new teachers and see the
- 3:57Speaker 2: new classrooms and this smell ough back to school. Good morning, everybody.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I hope you're off to a good start. Forecast sixty
- 4:08Speaker 2: two degrees right now in the Granite City. We're looking
- 4:13Speaker 2: at partly sunny skies around seventy three today, pretty good tonight,
- 4:16Speaker 2: partly cloudy fifty five. We do have a little bit
- 4:20Speaker 2: of wet weather that's possibly gonna be moving and looks
- 4:23Speaker 2: like Wednesday tomorrow Courier Park should be in the clear.
- 4:29Speaker 2: At this point partly sunny and eighty degrees is the
- 4:32Speaker 2: official word. But Thursday, and I know that's thunder Road Day,
- 4:37Speaker 2: rain showers and thunderstorms eighty one for the high and
- 4:41Speaker 2: it looks like those showers and thunderstorms at this point
- 4:45Speaker 2: are going to be continuing into Thursday night. So I'm
- 4:50Speaker 2: not canceling anything or making any announcement that the racing
- 4:56Speaker 2: is not gonna happen. I'm just saying, don't be surprised
- 5:00Speaker 2: if you're a big fan of thunder road because that's
- 5:03Speaker 2: what Mother Natures send in our way. Friday looks like
- 5:07Speaker 2: clouds and sun both in the mix, rain showers also
- 5:11Speaker 2: and maybe some thunderstorms, So big mix bag on Friday.
- 5:16Speaker 2: The good news, though, is the weekend looks pretty good
- 5:19Speaker 2: at this point, both Saturday and Sunday if you have plans.
- 5:23Speaker 2: There's a couple of major paving projects going on. I
- 5:26Speaker 2: want to just tell you real briefly about a couple
- 5:29Speaker 2: of them that is affecting the Montpilier Waterbury Corridor v
- 5:35Speaker 2: trans surfacing resurfacing about ten miles of eighty nine south
- 5:42Speaker 2: around mile marker fifty two in the Berlin Montpilier area.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And continuing north to mile markers sixty three in Waterbury,
- 5:51Speaker 2: just south of the Exit ten. It includes the Exit
- 5:55Speaker 2: eight Monthpilier and Exit nine Middlesex ramps. This is a
- 6:00Speaker 2: pretty big project. The other one Richmond Southbounds. That is
- 6:06Speaker 2: a separate paving project that's about almost sixteen miles that
- 6:13Speaker 2: includes the Exit ten and Exit eleven interchanges. Most of
- 6:19Speaker 2: the work is occurring during the day, however, some nighttime
- 6:23Speaker 2: work at Exit ten and eleven. The one that I
- 6:27Speaker 2: got hung up in yesterday, which I'll just say it
- 6:34Speaker 2: created some delays, exercised my patients a little bit were
- 6:39Speaker 2: lack thereof was the Randolph Brookfield project on eighty nine South,
- 6:46Speaker 2: running from mile marker twenty five in Bethel to mile
- 6:50Speaker 2: marker thirty six in Brookfield, and that included the Exit
- 6:56Speaker 2: four interchange in Randolph. So just slowed down, exercise some caution,
- 7:03Speaker 2: some patience, and go easy. In the studio with me
- 7:08Speaker 2: this morning is Rex Thompson. Good morning, buddy.
- 7:13Speaker 1: What's going on man?
- 7:14Speaker 2: You have some big news to share this morning about
- 7:18Speaker 2: September fifth.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Actually I didn't, Okay, I didn't. The promoter who has
- 7:25Speaker 1: the promoter's license, had a big announcement this morning. Okay,
- 7:31Speaker 1: she just happens to be sick. She came down with
- 7:33Speaker 1: the flu or something like that. We had to take
- 7:34Speaker 1: her to the emergency room there Sunday.
- 7:36Speaker 2: All right, So Dad's filling in your pitch hitting this morning.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I am like, I got a phone call this morning.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You know, I'm in my tidy whities hanging out and
- 7:46Speaker 1: then this blistering voice comes on the phone from the
- 7:49Speaker 1: other end. What I'm gonna do? JD? Calm down?
- 7:56Speaker 2: What what do you mean give JD? Come down?
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'll come down, not save you, but man, what do
- 8:01Speaker 1: you mean save me? Because you had made a deal
- 8:06Speaker 1: with my daughter for her to be here today. She
- 8:08Speaker 1: was going to make some amount announcements.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well she's she's sick. I get it should happened
- 8:15Speaker 2: this man happens all the time, So it does.
- 8:18Speaker 1: There's something going around, and she's really she's she lost
- 8:21Speaker 1: a lot of weight, she was puking and everything else.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So whatever it was, we took her, Like I said,
- 8:27Speaker 1: we took her up there. They gave her a bunch
- 8:28Speaker 1: of fluids and wow, really shit. All right, So but anyway,
- 8:34Speaker 1: I'm glad you're here.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:36Speaker 1: So one of those things. And this is one of
- 8:38Speaker 1: the things that's been happening. There's two things that are
- 8:41Speaker 1: happening in my life as far as business wise goes. Uh.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Number one, we've been transitioning everything over to my daughter, Taylor,
- 8:52Speaker 1: my for Donnybrook Fight Promotions. So Donnybrook Fight Promotions, I
- 8:58Speaker 1: gave up my promoter's license. So my promoter's license came
- 9:02Speaker 1: to an end, and it's an expensive license. And I'm
- 9:06Speaker 1: not the owner of Donnybrook really, my daughter is. So
- 9:09Speaker 1: I was like, hey, it's time for you to get
- 9:11Speaker 1: your promoter's license. So she got her promoter's license and
- 9:17Speaker 1: she's now has the promoter's license for Donnybrook Fight Promotions. Okay,
- 9:22Speaker 1: so she is the promoter. She's one of the owners.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Another thing that we did is we hired a professional
- 9:29Speaker 1: matchmaker and a lot of people already know this man,
- 9:32Speaker 1: Keegan Hornstra. Keegan is still active from Jim's all the
- 9:37Speaker 1: way from Montreal to Florida. So yeah and so, and
- 9:42Speaker 1: it's also helping him stay in the fight scene because
- 9:46Speaker 1: he can't fight and he loves to be in the
- 9:48Speaker 1: fight scene. The other thing is this is his opportunity.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Anybody that knows Keegan or follows Keegan. Keegan trolls the
- 9:57Speaker 1: shit out of every single promotion for bad matchups. Oh
- 10:02Speaker 1: so this is kind of like, yeah, you know, you've
- 10:06Speaker 1: talked shit about let's let's you know what I mean.
- 10:09Speaker 1: So now he's under pressure to make good matchups. Otherwise
- 10:14Speaker 1: he could be under the same microscope he's put other
- 10:16Speaker 1: promotions under.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Wow.
- 10:18Speaker 1: So I think it's a great opportunity. I like Keegan
- 10:21Speaker 1: and and what that does. By having a professional matchmaker,
- 10:25Speaker 1: that opens up for Taylor to do what she it
- 10:30Speaker 1: went to school for, and that is a content creator.
- 10:32Speaker 1: She uh, you know, photography, videoography, stuff like that. So
- 10:37Speaker 1: she will be the one in charge of, you know,
- 10:41Speaker 1: putting out daily content stuff like that. Because during the
- 10:45Speaker 1: fight time, Jimminy Cricket trying to put out fight content,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you have not only the fight content, she has to
- 10:54Speaker 1: do some sort of daily post daily plus talking to
- 10:57Speaker 1: fighters and coaches, making sure the fighters, the fighters have
- 11:01Speaker 1: filled out their forms, they have all of their licensing,
- 11:03Speaker 1: their medicals. There is so much to it, Like we
- 11:06Speaker 1: can't we don't just call somebody up and be like, yo,
- 11:09Speaker 1: hey you want to fight this day. That's an insane
- 11:12Speaker 1: amount of work. It is crazy, and you're dealing with
- 11:16Speaker 1: a fighter that's like, well, wait a minute, I'm fighting.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Why do I have to do paperwork? Yeah, you do paperwork,
- 11:21Speaker 1: Like I can't do your paperwork for you, my man.
- 11:24Speaker 1: So it's it's by doing this, we're able to expand
- 11:29Speaker 1: we're able to do more, and we're able to have
- 11:33Speaker 1: a bigger fight cards.
- 11:35Speaker 2: This is an insane amount of work for five ten people.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Five ten people, there's only two of us, I know.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's what you know. And it's funny because another sanctioning
- 11:47Speaker 1: body had asked me before. They're like, why do you
- 11:50Speaker 1: do all of that work? Now? Think about all of
- 11:53Speaker 1: that work, and think about the last place that we
- 11:56Speaker 1: had our shows at. Now we had to do all
- 12:00Speaker 1: all of that work. In between setting up tables, setting
- 12:04Speaker 1: up chairs, setting up a whole arena, coordinating everything that
- 12:09Speaker 1: was also happening on the days of the fights. We
- 12:16Speaker 1: are focusing on advertisers. You know, we now have the
- 12:21Speaker 1: Army National Guard, the Air National Guard of course, aired
- 12:25Speaker 1: out podcast. We have no longer Barslow construction. We have
- 12:29Speaker 1: Valet Builders. Valet Builders is my son. He took all
- 12:33Speaker 1: of my tools, my business, everything and he is running
- 12:37Speaker 1: Valet builders. He's building a house up on Windy Wood.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Plus he's still doing other projects. He just got done
- 12:44Speaker 1: and doing a bathroom and basement for Eileen James.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Does he is he going to be sponsoring the aired
- 12:51Speaker 2: Out podcast? Or do I have to threaten him? So
- 12:55Speaker 2: right now, my son is like, my son is a
- 12:57Speaker 2: very conservative, nervous nelly.
- 13:00Speaker 1: So every single penny he's like because he's just starting
- 13:02Speaker 1: to get right in his face and scream at him.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Right half.
- 13:06Speaker 1: So he has a shop, I'll he has a shop,
- 13:10Speaker 1: he has tools, he has everything, all right.
- 13:13Speaker 2: So let's let's get to Uh, what's going on with
- 13:17Speaker 2: Kingdom come here?
- 13:18Speaker 1: Okay, so Kingdom come.
- 13:20Speaker 2: That's the big fight that was scheduled for September fifth.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yes, it's scheduled for September fifth at the Double Tree.
- 13:27Speaker 1: At the Double Tree in South bourl like that. There's
- 13:29Speaker 1: been a scheduling change and it's going to be moved
- 13:33Speaker 1: to October. Uh, it's the same fights. There's actually more
- 13:37Speaker 1: fights that are going to be on this one. It
- 13:40Speaker 1: ended up being the perfect storm. We had both the
- 13:45Speaker 1: main and Comaine get injured. They got injured, not really
- 13:49Speaker 1: a big deal to do that, but then the Champlain.
- 13:52Speaker 1: We found out the Champlain Valley Fair moved their date up,
- 13:57Speaker 1: so the hotel had double booked. Also, there was we
- 14:01Speaker 1: hadn't received our event license, so you got to think
- 14:05Speaker 1: about that. There's just two of us. There's me and Taylor,
- 14:07Speaker 1: plus I'm trying to help my son in his construction
- 14:10Speaker 1: company to do that. So we're trying to do all
- 14:14Speaker 1: of that in a very short We don't have a staff, Like,
- 14:17Speaker 1: we don't have a hired staff to take care of
- 14:19Speaker 1: all that stuff, so we handle it all on our own.
- 14:22Speaker 1: That's how we're able to do more for fighters and
- 14:25Speaker 1: keep our cost low because we do. We do more
- 14:27Speaker 1: of the sweat equity, you know, like Adam Lash is
- 14:30Speaker 1: good at that. Adam Lash doesn't for sweat equity. That's
- 14:34Speaker 1: how that's how you're able to do bigger things for
- 14:36Speaker 1: your fighters by doing that. But now we've realized, we're like, hey,
- 14:40Speaker 1: we've gone to that next level. We have to hire
- 14:43Speaker 1: these people. We have to hire the staff. Sure, like
- 14:45Speaker 1: the hotel. Now we don't have to worry about that.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Our setup literally takes forty five minutes.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Okay, well you got it dialed in, you know.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Well, there's no dialing in they do everything. Yeah, we
- 14:56Speaker 1: just have to set up the ring. It takes forty
- 14:58Speaker 1: five minutes to set up the boxing.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Ring, right, So what's so what what if somebody's got
- 15:05Speaker 2: tickets for September fifth.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Said, they're still they're still good. Everything, nothing has changed,
- 15:11Speaker 1: The fights haven't changed. Uh, the venue hasn't changed. It's
- 15:14Speaker 1: just the date got pushed out. It's a rain date,
- 15:17Speaker 1: kind of like a rain date thing because there's too much. Uh,
- 15:20Speaker 1: the hotels are packed up there. There's people coming in
- 15:22Speaker 1: from all over out of state, and there's no way
- 15:24Speaker 1: to get them rooms. All right, it's just logistically things
- 15:28Speaker 1: got really messed up.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So last minute, all right, do we have a date
- 15:32Speaker 2: for it in October?
- 15:33Speaker 1: October tenth? October tenth, October tenth, it's set in stone.
- 15:36Speaker 1: We've already got the event license for October ten, we
- 15:39Speaker 1: have the sanctioning body all set, the hotel's booked. We
- 15:42Speaker 1: just changed the dates. Everything's paid for. We just changed
- 15:45Speaker 1: the dates, all right, So everybody's good.
- 15:47Speaker 2: So how so tell me about other other promotions in
- 15:53Speaker 2: the region and how they affect each other? And that
- 15:58Speaker 2: was that issue here?
- 16:00Speaker 1: Ye? Yes, and no, like combat Zone is huge because
- 16:04Speaker 1: it's Calvin Cater down there is a UFC fighter. They're
- 16:07Speaker 1: in the s NHU Arena. They had fights two weeks
- 16:13Speaker 1: before September fifth, and so they had I think almost
- 16:18Speaker 1: twenty fights on that card, So that takes forty fighters
- 16:21Speaker 1: right out of New England and there's and then you
- 16:23Speaker 1: have any f so you try to strategically plan in
- 16:27Speaker 1: between those, and we got caught and we also got
- 16:31Speaker 1: caught in between those, but we still had ten solid
- 16:34Speaker 1: fights on the card, so we can always build a card.
- 16:38Speaker 1: We have you know, we have the gyms here in Vermont,
- 16:42Speaker 1: we have other gyms. Now we've got some other gyms
- 16:45Speaker 1: coming from another country.
- 16:48Speaker 2: So wow, it's a pretty deep pool, isn't it.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It is now? But now you have promotions popping up
- 16:54Speaker 1: all the time, and it really depends on your connection.
- 16:57Speaker 2: In the region.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely. And then you have you know,
- 17:03Speaker 1: and then you have like Bare Knuckle coming along, and
- 17:06Speaker 1: they'll anybody can get on a Bare Knuckle card, but
- 17:09Speaker 1: they it's professional. It's on TV, so a lot of
- 17:12Speaker 1: people get seen by it. So you know, those will
- 17:15Speaker 1: take they'll take fighters off a car. You know, maybe
- 17:18Speaker 1: they'll take one or two of your professional fighters because
- 17:20Speaker 1: they have a bigger viewership. So they're like, hey, man,
- 17:23Speaker 1: I can fight for you pro and yes, you'll give
- 17:26Speaker 1: me four thousand dollars to show up, but I could
- 17:29Speaker 1: go on TV over here. They'll give me two thousand.
- 17:32Speaker 1: But I'll be on TV and I get more exposure,
- 17:35Speaker 1: so you know, good for them. That's that's how promotion
- 17:37Speaker 1: went interesting.
- 17:38Speaker 2: All right. So again, if you're just joining us Rex
- 17:41Speaker 2: Thompson Donnybrook Fight Promotions the September fifth Kingdom Come event
- 17:48Speaker 2: at the Double Tree tenth it has been moved to
- 17:51Speaker 2: October tenth, Yes, September fifth, October tenth.
- 17:55Speaker 1: So with that said, that's how we're able to offer
- 17:58Speaker 1: our fans if you want to up and stay the weekend.
- 18:01Speaker 1: And you mentioned Donnie Brook, there's a code up there.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Instead of paying four hundred dollars a night for those
- 18:06Speaker 1: beautiful rooms, they knock them down to one twenty two.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Okay, wow, So.
- 18:12Speaker 1: That our fans can come up, stay the night and
- 18:15Speaker 1: have a couple of drinks, right, and I'll have to
- 18:17Speaker 1: go any it's sort of a huge breakfast in the morning.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You don't even leave the hotel. Everything's right there. No,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you could drink in there, bring your drink to your room. Whatever.
- 18:25Speaker 2: There's the thing you need to worry about is pressing
- 18:29Speaker 2: the right number on the elevator. That's right, that's it.
- 18:32Speaker 1: That's it.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Wow, all right, tell me about your sponsors again for
- 18:38Speaker 2: October tenth.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Oh, October tenth. We have the Air National Guard, we
- 18:44Speaker 1: have the Army National Guard. I think the h Bros Brothers.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I think Corey Hebert still sponsors us Kidder's Interior aired
- 18:52Speaker 1: out podcast. Oh please, Lord, don't let me forget any
- 18:57Speaker 1: um and whoever else my daughter landed there.
- 19:03Speaker 2: All right, Opportunities still for advertisers, for companies to sponsor.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Oh always, because all of our stuff is televised, our subscription,
- 19:13Speaker 1: our YouTube, our production crew. They are phenomenal. They've done
- 19:18Speaker 1: for ESPN boxing, these guys. They so when your ad
- 19:24Speaker 1: goes out there, unlike when you advertise with like radio
- 19:28Speaker 1: or something like that, your ad runs for a couple
- 19:30Speaker 1: of weeks and then that's it. It's done. Well. When
- 19:34Speaker 1: we cut our when we cut the film and edit
- 19:37Speaker 1: it the whole live stream. When it's done, we put
- 19:39Speaker 1: them into individual fights on YouTube. Guess why that's on
- 19:43Speaker 1: there forever. Yeah, it's just a real whatever you know,
- 19:46Speaker 1: you pay for it. You paid for it that one time.
- 19:48Speaker 1: But it's on that video. So now say that there
- 19:51Speaker 1: was a huge knockout or he's super popular. Guy, your little,
- 19:55Speaker 1: your little thirty second ad is being played millions of
- 19:58Speaker 1: times to people.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yeah, wow, yeah you mentioned, uh just a little bit
- 20:05Speaker 2: ago bare knuckle. We've had some just recently. I'm seeing
- 20:11Speaker 2: it all over social media.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yes, uh yeah, you had a couple of local fighters
- 20:15Speaker 1: that thought we did. Where was it down down at
- 20:18Speaker 1: the uh moment? It was it was the moh it
- 20:21Speaker 1: was the Mogans, Well he can Sun Casino, Sophia and Hayes. Yes, unbelievable,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I honestly, And and uh, nothing bad, nothing bad on
- 20:31Speaker 1: her or anything like that. I just seeing her like
- 20:38Speaker 1: and the weight in the face offs or anything, and
- 20:40Speaker 1: knowing that his bare knuckle gives me huge anxiety, huge
- 20:44Speaker 1: anxiety for some reason. I mean because I've known her
- 20:47Speaker 1: since she was fourteen years old and I'm so scared
- 20:49Speaker 1: of her getting her I really like, I I can't
- 20:52Speaker 1: why I heard she won and that's fucking awesome. I
- 20:54Speaker 1: hope she wins every single one of them without an injury.
- 20:58Speaker 1: But bare knuckle is uh bare knuckles a different beast,
- 21:01Speaker 1: and I wish her the best, but I can't. It
- 21:04Speaker 1: scares the shit out of me to watch that. I don't. Yeah,
- 21:09Speaker 1: you know Chris One, Chris won his fight, but I
- 21:12Speaker 1: mean doesn't scare me. He's a big, burly fucking guy anyway,
- 21:16Speaker 1: so that you know, it doesn't scare you to to
- 21:18Speaker 1: watch something like that fight or whatever. But they were
- 21:21Speaker 1: local guys, and uh, kudos to them. They they won
- 21:25Speaker 1: their fights. And like I said, the more I'm known
- 21:29Speaker 1: Sophia longer than I knew Chris and and I just
- 21:32Speaker 1: I still see her as a little girl. And when
- 21:34Speaker 1: I see it would be the same as if Mike
- 21:36Speaker 1: my daughter was fighting bare knuckle too, you know what
- 21:39Speaker 1: I mean. Not that I'm as close as her her
- 21:42Speaker 1: father daughter relationship thing. I'm just it for me, it's
- 21:47Speaker 1: hard to watch. Gives me super anxiety.
- 21:49Speaker 2: So is it? Is it bare knuckle and alpow?
- 21:53Speaker 1: No, No, it's just boxing, just bare knuckle boxing. She's
- 21:59Speaker 1: transition transition from m M A to the bare knuckle through.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I just I've never been to a bare knuckle fight.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I can't even.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Chris Rooney is fighting another local guys fighting at Fenway
- 22:17Speaker 1: Uh next weekend. This coming weekend, Chris Rooney is also
- 22:21Speaker 1: fighting another guy that fought for Donnie Brook.
- 22:24Speaker 2: He fought.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yep, he held one of my titles.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Oh my god, he's doing bare knuckle it f.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Fenway Park, Chris. He's making his debut.
- 22:37Speaker 2: This coming weekend. Oh my god, dude, Yeah, what's it?
- 22:43Speaker 2: What's it sound like?
- 22:45Speaker 1: Oh? I don't know, I don't mind watching. I just
- 22:49Speaker 1: I can't. Like I met Britt Harr Dave Feldman, and
- 22:52Speaker 1: I know Rick the matchmaker and ship, and I just
- 22:55Speaker 1: like when it comes to the females. For me, I'm
- 22:58Speaker 1: not a I'm not a fan of female barre knuckle
- 23:01Speaker 1: just me personally, I don't. I have a daughter and
- 23:03Speaker 1: I can't. Oh yeah I have I don't know, I
- 23:06Speaker 1: have like empathy and I don't want to see that
- 23:11Speaker 1: probably coming with my older age. Yeah, all right, pussy.
- 23:15Speaker 2: So So September fifth at the Double Tree in Burlington.
- 23:21Speaker 1: It's canceled, it's it's pushed out. October tenth.
- 23:24Speaker 2: October tenth at the Double Tree. All right, the Kingdom come.
- 23:32Speaker 2: And you're saying Keith and Hornstra is the matchmaker.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yes, Keegan has become the Matchmak. You'll see him at
- 23:38Speaker 1: the show with his wife and daughter Klaws. Look forward
- 23:41Speaker 1: to see man, they'll be there walking around.
- 23:47Speaker 2: That guy.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Is he's been through a lot.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Eh, He's been through an awful lot.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Dude, I'll never forget, Like, tell him he came to
- 24:01Speaker 1: the wings. He's like, bro, there's something wrong. Why not?
- 24:03Speaker 1: There's really something. I was like, you're just being a pussy,
- 24:05Speaker 1: rubbed dirt in it. You'll be fine. And it was
- 24:08Speaker 1: his title fight, small glove title fight versus I remember
- 24:11Speaker 1: Don Pena. I was there. I remember when he got
- 24:14Speaker 1: done and he's like, man, I'm telling you there's something wrong.
- 24:17Speaker 1: And he didn't look right. It just it it didn't
- 24:19Speaker 1: look right.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:21Speaker 3: And then we found out that testicular canticulate cancer, yeah,
- 24:27Speaker 3: which then it ended up going into his lungs and
- 24:31Speaker 3: dude's a fighter.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Man. I really liked that guy.
- 24:35Speaker 2: There was a point when Keekan was was maybe he
- 24:42Speaker 2: checked out, pretty checked out, like it looked like the end.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I went I saw him.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yep.
- 24:49Speaker 1: My exact words were too because he's like, I'm just
- 24:51Speaker 1: because he was tired. Man, look at the fight. He
- 24:53Speaker 1: had been fucking doing. But I said. I remember my
- 24:56Speaker 1: exact words, damn, were, well that's cool man, some other
- 24:59Speaker 1: guy raise your sun, right, some other guys morals of
- 25:04Speaker 1: course it was, but guess what he thought. And he's
- 25:08Speaker 1: back at it. Maybe if you said that to me,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I'd give you the fucking bar knumble dude, probably, and
- 25:14Speaker 1: I expected it. But it's a reality. It's a truth,
- 25:17Speaker 1: and it's something we don't think about when we go
- 25:20Speaker 1: to give up. And he weren't ready to give up anyway.
- 25:24Speaker 1: That motherfucker had way too much fight still left in him,
- 25:28Speaker 1: so he and his wife wasn't gonna let him. And
- 25:30Speaker 1: she's way meaner than him.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, like.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Really she's on it.
- 25:38Speaker 2: So so keeck So Keegan is doing the matchmaking yep
- 25:44Speaker 2: for the October ten.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yes, we still have We still have those fights from
- 25:50Speaker 1: September fifth, Those fights are still on. All the fighters
- 25:53Speaker 1: are good. Yeah, but we're adding more. This just gives
- 25:56Speaker 1: us time to add even more fights to it.
- 25:59Speaker 2: That's all. I would love to chat with Keikan that night.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I would love to.
- 26:04Speaker 1: I think Liam oh, Liam McNeil is going to be
- 26:06Speaker 1: doing the uh, he's going to be doing commentating with
- 26:09Speaker 1: Deb Ballard, Ronnie Patterson.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 26:12Speaker 1: So that's a good good crew.
- 26:14Speaker 2: That's fantastic and.
- 26:16Speaker 1: It's and the best part is everything is inside of
- 26:18Speaker 1: a five rope ring. We got the conversion kit last
- 26:23Speaker 1: week and what it adds is it adds a rope
- 26:25Speaker 1: six inches off the ground and then they put we
- 26:28Speaker 1: put these straps and you velcrow each one of the
- 26:31Speaker 1: straps so that the straps, the ropes can't spread apart,
- 26:35Speaker 1: and you put them every four feet all the way around.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I kind of wondered about that, Yep, how that works? Yep,
- 26:41Speaker 2: because mma is it's totally different from boxing that I
- 26:45Speaker 2: used to do it in.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Pride all the time. We have a lot of kickboxing.
- 26:50Speaker 1: We have a k one. Did you see the belts?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Those are beautiful. We have Oh you know what, if
- 27:00Speaker 1: you hadn't called me when I was in my tidy whities,
- 27:03Speaker 1: I would have remembered that and I would have brought
- 27:05Speaker 1: them both in. One's a red strap with gold and
- 27:08Speaker 1: blue lettering. The other one's green with silver and black lettering. Wow,
- 27:13Speaker 1: they're pretty sweet. We have one hundred and seventy pound
- 27:17Speaker 1: Muay Thai title justin Olivera is fighting, and then we
- 27:21Speaker 1: have the one hundred and thirty pound K one style kickboxing,
- 27:25Speaker 1: and I think that's still going to be Isaac agui Era.
- 27:28Speaker 2: All Right, you had some really incredible fights last time
- 27:34Speaker 2: around at the Double Tree.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Every single one of them were of fantastic banger.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Oh my god, that dynamic sweep that happened on Logan
- 27:43Speaker 1: loftisc he's fighting again. Eric Trepanier's fighting on this card
- 27:48Speaker 1: out of UFAI. Brooklyn Gardener's fighting out of combat fitness.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I think Charlie Lrosa's fighting out of there. We're trying
- 27:56Speaker 1: to get Charlie al Samira back on the card, so
- 27:59Speaker 1: we'll get uh combat fit. Vermont should have a really
- 28:02Speaker 1: really good showing on that car too.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Lindsay Valentine, yep, what happened that night?
- 28:11Speaker 1: Man? I gotta tell you, I don't give a ship.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Lindsay is tough. Tough. You know why I say that.
- 28:18Speaker 1: I've seen I could have taken one of those knees.
- 28:21Speaker 1: She took like twenty of them fucking knees.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Who was she fighting against that?
- 28:26Speaker 3: Uh?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Tatiana come Vermont, muyta, Oh she was so. Tatiana is
- 28:32Speaker 1: getting ready to go out. She just want to fight
- 28:35Speaker 1: against a really seasoned fighter Danielle Kelly. Actually, Keegan Hornstra's girl,
- 28:41Speaker 1: Tatiana just beat Keegan Horns's girl Danielle.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Kelly in a Muay Thai fight that was brutal.
- 28:48Speaker 1: So uh, but that Tatiana girl is going out to
- 28:53Speaker 1: like Seattle. She's gonna be the first woman to fight
- 28:56Speaker 1: a transgender in mouyta.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Really wow.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. It's I don't know. She wants
- 29:08Speaker 1: to make history what it is, but uh, it's a
- 29:10Speaker 1: weird and I'm not saying it's weird. I have no
- 29:13Speaker 1: judgment whatsoever.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Well, you just said it's weird.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I'm weird. But I'm weird too, I'm weird. I Uh,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, I just I just don't. I
- 29:27Speaker 1: we've been approached about booking that. But good for her.
- 29:30Speaker 1: She's getting her name out and that does not take
- 29:34Speaker 1: from her. I mean she is legit, she's very technical,
- 29:38Speaker 1: she's a she's a super sweet person. Yeah, yeah, she
- 29:41Speaker 1: really really is. I don't know her. I never asked her.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I don't know what her reasoning why she wanted to
- 29:46Speaker 1: do something like that, but that's you know, you would
- 29:48Speaker 1: have to ask her. And I'm not going to make
- 29:50Speaker 1: any assumption on why she did it or.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Back back to Lindsey, Yeah, just just to echo her
- 29:58Speaker 2: level of toughness. Do you of course, I don't have
- 30:01Speaker 2: to ask you if you remember, of course you remember,
- 30:03Speaker 2: I'll put the Burry Auditorium. Do you remember that fight
- 30:06Speaker 2: that Lindsay Valentine was in where her freaking face was
- 30:11Speaker 2: just smashed in and she just kept goingale, Oh my god.
- 30:19Speaker 2: She would not give up. It was amazing. That was
- 30:24Speaker 2: one of the best fights I think I've ever seen
- 30:26Speaker 2: at the odd Yep. Wow. Yeah, So she's Is she
- 30:32Speaker 2: back October tenth?
- 30:34Speaker 1: No, I don't remember. If she's on the card. She's
- 30:37Speaker 1: always She's always welcome on the card. All right.
- 30:42Speaker 2: For folks listening that are curious and I get to
- 30:51Speaker 2: be honest with you, I still get asked this question,
- 30:56Speaker 2: what happened to Donnybrook fight promotions up the Peri Auditorium?
- 31:01Speaker 2: They ask me, nothing happened? What I It's not up
- 31:07Speaker 2: to me to give the answer to that.
- 31:09Speaker 1: It's it's up to It was simple, they told they,
- 31:11Speaker 1: They told us that was the last one unless I
- 31:13Speaker 1: went and sat down and talked to Nicholas and.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Uh the city manager.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and and I don't. I'm not going to beg
- 31:24Speaker 1: anybody to give them money.
- 31:27Speaker 2: What was the reception of the Double Tree in South America?
- 31:36Speaker 1: It was so And this is the and this is
- 31:38Speaker 1: exactly why we switched out of municipality to private corporation municipality.
- 31:45Speaker 1: During every single voting cycle, things change, rules, regulations. You
- 31:50Speaker 1: start out with the good old boy system and everybody
- 31:52Speaker 1: knows everybody. Now everybody's voted out. Now it's going to
- 31:55Speaker 1: be well, I don't like you. I like this sport
- 31:58Speaker 1: more so I'm going to lead in this way. I'm
- 32:00Speaker 1: going to do this so it becomes a political thing,
- 32:03Speaker 1: and it really we need as a business, we need
- 32:08Speaker 1: something more stable. So South Burlington offered a stable environment
- 32:13Speaker 1: for us. They invited us up there. When it comes
- 32:16Speaker 1: to the setup they are marketing because we're bringing money
- 32:20Speaker 1: into their hotel. Not only are we paying them to
- 32:23Speaker 1: rent the venue, but we're bringing in what eleven hundred
- 32:27Speaker 1: and twelve hundred people into their hotel. We're getting four
- 32:31Speaker 1: hundred rooms rented that night. So now they even they're
- 32:35Speaker 1: putting a banner out front of their hotel for the
- 32:38Speaker 1: entire week before the fights.
- 32:40Speaker 2: For us, you got a huge population too, in a
- 32:43Speaker 2: young demographic.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's right in a college college down there,
- 32:47Speaker 1: so there's a huge support because people want to see
- 32:51Speaker 1: it up there. It's not like most of our fans,
- 32:54Speaker 1: even when we're at the auditorium, came from upstate New York,
- 32:59Speaker 1: Upstate New York, New Hampshire and New Hampshire. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 1: we get now. It is just it's the local people.
- 33:06Speaker 1: They're like, holy ship, this is walking distance from and
- 33:10Speaker 1: we can watch this. Sure, we can watch an exciting
- 33:13Speaker 1: fight inside of this professional boxing ring, right and they're
- 33:17Speaker 1: super excited.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I was. I was delighted when I was there at
- 33:22Speaker 2: the at the first one to see so many people
- 33:25Speaker 2: from Barry. I met some people from New Hampshire. I
- 33:28Speaker 2: met some people from Maine, and I met some people
- 33:31Speaker 2: from Massachusetts and Connecticut. That and you said, New York
- 33:34Speaker 2: is a pretty pretty good place state New York.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a whole There was like three tables
- 33:39Speaker 1: of upstate New York. They were they were like and
- 33:41Speaker 1: then a matter, we're going the bar with the UVM students. Yeah.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that was just a whole crowd at the bar.
- 33:48Speaker 1: They were all from the like the UVM medical program
- 33:52Speaker 1: or something.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, comment here you brought money, tourism and media attention
- 33:58Speaker 2: and they didn't like it. Imagine that. I don't.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I don't know. Like I said, things changed, I we
- 34:07Speaker 1: we got a pretty good reception here. They liked having
- 34:10Speaker 1: us here, They helped out a lot, and then new
- 34:14Speaker 1: people came in and it just everything changed. And that's
- 34:19Speaker 1: when we realized. I mean we had to the last show.
- 34:22Speaker 1: We lost so much money. I don't think a lot
- 34:26Speaker 1: of people realize, like, we put forty fifty thousand dollars
- 34:29Speaker 1: into each one of those shows, each one of them,
- 34:33Speaker 1: and top to bottom. Yeah, yeah, Yeah, nothing's cheap, especially
- 34:38Speaker 1: in Vermont, because you got to think about when you
- 34:42Speaker 1: bring people in. They need a place to.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Stay, they need a place to eat.
- 34:46Speaker 1: You got twenty fight, you got twenty fighters. We have
- 34:48Speaker 1: to find we have to pay for accommodations if you
- 34:52Speaker 1: have If you have twenty fights, that's forty fighters. You
- 34:54Speaker 1: have to find accommodations for. Yeah, you're talking eight. Even
- 34:58Speaker 1: when a hotel cuts you a deal, you still have
- 34:59Speaker 1: eight one thousand dollars just in hotel bill. Sure, So
- 35:06Speaker 1: we had the business margin we've in Berry City. We
- 35:11Speaker 1: never made a profit. We broke even a couple of times.
- 35:16Speaker 2: MM.
- 35:18Speaker 1: So we're always hoping it would build, it would build,
- 35:20Speaker 1: but COVID, I mean, it's not everything. I can't I'm
- 35:24Speaker 1: not blaming this barrier. I'm just saying politics change things,
- 35:28Speaker 1: and if your business is intertwined, intertwined with a municipality
- 35:32Speaker 1: or our politics, things can change on a heartbeat. Just
- 35:36Speaker 1: look at the builders that are let's go on a
- 35:38Speaker 1: large scale. Look at the builders at the White House
- 35:41Speaker 1: right now. Trump's in office, would build away here. So
- 35:45Speaker 1: come next next cycle, whoever gets voted in, all of
- 35:48Speaker 1: those people had the contracts. They're like, ah, we don't
- 35:51Speaker 1: like you, stop building. We're now going to put it
- 35:53Speaker 1: out this way. Now. They just you know, you can
- 35:57Speaker 1: screw it. When anytime that government's involved in your business,
- 36:00Speaker 1: there's always a chance. So there's always a chance of failure,
- 36:05Speaker 1: and not on their side because they have that unlimited
- 36:08Speaker 1: income stream that you don't have as a private business.
- 36:13Speaker 1: So we had to sit down. We made that choice,
- 36:16Speaker 1: and we met with the hotel quite a few times
- 36:18Speaker 1: before we made that decision, and they wanted to see okay,
- 36:23Speaker 1: So they got asked to do this a couple times
- 36:25Speaker 1: up there, and they were like no, So they were like,
- 36:28Speaker 1: finally they let this happen. We explained to them that
- 36:31Speaker 1: we were licensed through the state. There would be state
- 36:34Speaker 1: inspectors there. This is our sanction aboudy. So we had
- 36:36Speaker 1: to meet with them and make them feel comfortable that
- 36:40Speaker 1: our fight show wasn't going to be a wild redneck brawl.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and that it was.
- 36:44Speaker 1: A professional show. They were so impressed by that. They
- 36:49Speaker 1: were like, yeah that they said, when you said professional,
- 36:52Speaker 1: we were not. We still expected kind of a third rag.
- 36:57Speaker 1: They were like, that was like being at a at
- 37:01Speaker 1: any professional boxing show, even the amateur fights, the staff, everybody,
- 37:07Speaker 1: and they were how well everything was handled. You know,
- 37:13Speaker 1: it was a professional show. People weren't getting drunk throwing
- 37:16Speaker 1: beer cans in the fucking roads, and the place was packed.
- 37:20Speaker 1: It was a good time.
- 37:20Speaker 2: It was yeah, and it was great to see some
- 37:25Speaker 2: new eyes, some new faces Burlington. I mean that there
- 37:29Speaker 2: was a couple of fighters that had had their own posse.
- 37:32Speaker 2: That was just huge. That was so much fun to
- 37:36Speaker 2: see that. God, all right, so October tenth, yep, any
- 37:42Speaker 2: tickets that you have there, they're still good. We're going
- 37:45Speaker 2: to be honored.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, oh yeah. The ticket doesn't even change, It
- 37:48Speaker 1: doesn't have a date on it. What about listen, you
- 37:51Speaker 1: know food is very important to me. Yeah, okay, So
- 37:55Speaker 1: we talked about this with the hotel because we got
- 38:00Speaker 1: to have more than just pizza. We need a menu.
- 38:04Speaker 1: We need some Donnie Todts. Yeah, we need some elite burgers.
- 38:11Speaker 1: We need some Friday night fries or nachos, something, thank you.
- 38:18Speaker 2: So what's happening with that with regard to.
- 38:20Speaker 1: They're gonna they're gonna come up with a menu. Whendn't
- 38:23Speaker 1: we get it? We'll post it.
- 38:24Speaker 2: All right October tenth. All right, so keep watch, pay
- 38:30Speaker 2: attention Donny Brooke fight.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yeah, will be advertising like a bastard. Because Taylor can
- 38:34Speaker 1: now focus on our all of our highlight reels. You'll
- 38:38Speaker 1: start seeing a lot more media going out there in
- 38:42Speaker 1: the last couple of weeks because she can focus on that.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Right now, she's been helping me with Resilient Defense and
- 38:48Speaker 1: the huge project going on at Williamstown. Can you speak anymore?
- 38:55Speaker 1: Speak on all of it? What is Resilient Defenselliant Defense
- 39:01Speaker 1: Institute is a nonprofit organization where I like, where we
- 39:05Speaker 1: work with mentorship through martial arts. It's an idea that
- 39:13Speaker 1: I came up with and I got with the counselors
- 39:17Speaker 1: at the Williamstown High School. They gave me seven at
- 39:21Speaker 1: risk teams. We graduated five of them. Yeah, and uh,
- 39:29Speaker 1: I think we made a huge impact on their life
- 39:33Speaker 1: in that six weeks. Yeah. So a gentleman who lives
- 39:38Speaker 1: in Williamstown saw the impact that we did on them kids,
- 39:43Speaker 1: and he offered us a piece of land.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Mm hmmm.
- 39:46Speaker 1: He said, I want you to I want you to
- 39:49Speaker 1: build a Resilient Defense Institute, community self defense center. Okay,
- 39:59Speaker 1: So he he's gonna call me in the next couple
- 40:03Speaker 1: of days so that I can go down and mark
- 40:07Speaker 1: out exactly the building size that we can have. We'd
- 40:11Speaker 1: like to have classrooms, we'd like to have private rooms
- 40:15Speaker 1: for counseling inside of there, on top of weight room,
- 40:19Speaker 1: boxing ring.
- 40:21Speaker 2: You're onto something here, because there's a real relationship between
- 40:26Speaker 2: all of this mental health, self defense, life trauma, everything
- 40:32Speaker 2: else that goes with this.
- 40:34Speaker 1: We will teach and so for the community, we'll teach
- 40:38Speaker 1: free self defense, free kids classes. And then then we're
- 40:42Speaker 1: gonna also offer that space up for counselors other arts
- 40:47Speaker 1: that want to teach there will say, hey for a
- 40:49Speaker 1: percentage you can use this during these hours. There's we
- 40:55Speaker 1: want to put out. We're going to have a state
- 40:56Speaker 1: of the art community center. We've been talking with Sig
- 40:59Speaker 1: Sour also down in New Hampshire because they have a
- 41:03Speaker 1: self defense center down there. So it'll be huge for
- 41:09Speaker 1: the community in Williamstown. And then this gives us a
- 41:12Speaker 1: business model to expand this to every community.
- 41:17Speaker 2: And Fuji tell me about that.
- 41:19Speaker 1: So Fuji initially helped us with the first We haven't
- 41:23Speaker 1: reached out to Fuji yet again, we haven't, but we
- 41:30Speaker 1: most likely will. So they they they donated three thousand
- 41:37Speaker 1: dollars worth of gear for those seven kids. And so
- 41:41Speaker 1: what we did for those seven kids for six weeks
- 41:43Speaker 1: every Wednesday, their parents would drop us off, drop them off.
- 41:47Speaker 1: They they we would start with warming up ten nine eights.
- 41:52Speaker 1: We do boxing drills, tie drills, stuff like that. Padwork, okay,
- 41:59Speaker 1: get them warmed up, get them really hit in the bags.
- 42:04Speaker 1: We'd do a lot. We'd get them really tired. We
- 42:06Speaker 1: do a lot of live sparring. And we didn't want
- 42:09Speaker 1: to teach them a lot of technique because they had
- 42:12Speaker 1: a lot of anger, a lot of trauma in their life.
- 42:14Speaker 1: So instead me We would only let them fight with
- 42:17Speaker 1: me and Ed when we were live sparring because they
- 42:20Speaker 1: would throw really really hard punches, and me and Ed
- 42:24Speaker 1: know how to cut angles, and so we didn't want
- 42:28Speaker 1: to see the kids get into full on fistfights because
- 42:31Speaker 1: of their own childhood trauma. So after that we would
- 42:34Speaker 1: take the last half hour and we would talk to
- 42:36Speaker 1: these kids. We had a huge focus on suicide. That
- 42:41Speaker 1: was a big big kids today struggle with suicide so
- 42:44Speaker 1: much and they throw it around like it's like that world,
- 42:50Speaker 1: you know. So instead of telling them what they can
- 42:53Speaker 1: and can't do, and I tell them as I can't
- 42:55Speaker 1: control you, I can just tell you the things that
- 42:58Speaker 1: I did and the consequences from the things that I did. Sure,
- 43:03Speaker 1: And so that's what we talked about a lot, and
- 43:06Speaker 1: I the kids felt comfortable to talk back, and we
- 43:09Speaker 1: had of course Big Ad there. Big Ads just an
- 43:12Speaker 1: incredible mentor to those kids. I think when it's so
- 43:17Speaker 1: when you put this in a in a community, especially
- 43:19Speaker 1: when you give free self defense level self defense should
- 43:23Speaker 1: be free, just just like swimming lessons. It should be
- 43:27Speaker 1: that you should have it. It should not be just
- 43:30Speaker 1: for the rich.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah, agree, you know what I mean?
- 43:35Speaker 1: So I agree. Now, like, if you want to focus
- 43:38Speaker 1: on one single art and in that sport more in depth, yes,
- 43:44Speaker 1: you'd have to obviously pay for that, or.
- 43:48Speaker 2: You're going to keep me and our followers here. It
- 43:53Speaker 2: aired out up to speed on.
- 43:56Speaker 1: You're gonna hear I'm gonna scream this from the top
- 43:59Speaker 1: of the mountain. And because once we put the grades
- 44:02Speaker 1: sakes up, then we're going to start the fundraising. I've
- 44:05Speaker 1: already talked to a concrete company. The next we're going
- 44:08Speaker 1: to talk to a lumberyard. We have laborers already. There's
- 44:13Speaker 1: a lot of federal and state grants because we're federally
- 44:17Speaker 1: recognized nonprofit, so you know, there's grants to get all
- 44:24Speaker 1: all the equipment on the inside, brand new, state of
- 44:26Speaker 1: the air and equipment, stuff like that, and it'll be
- 44:32Speaker 1: a brand new like we'll make it energy efficient. We'll
- 44:36Speaker 1: make it super energy efficient for you because I know that. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 44:42Speaker 1: try to try to do it green. Why not solar panels,
- 44:45Speaker 1: you know, why not? You want your air conditioning, I'll
- 44:47Speaker 1: just pipe down. I'll dig down pipes five feet in
- 44:50Speaker 1: the ground and have amish air conditioning inside the building
- 44:53Speaker 1: all the time.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Can I can I just throw an idea out there,
- 44:58Speaker 2: ye little hold plunge bath, Oh yeah yeah yeah.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Well we'll have shout we'll have showers, we'll have locker
- 45:08Speaker 1: rooms hopefully, you know, maybe it depends on the footprint.
- 45:13Speaker 1: So I haven't even told anybody who this person is.
- 45:19Speaker 1: And without him it none of this would be happening.
- 45:23Speaker 1: And you know what, I just prayed for this. I
- 45:25Speaker 1: was like, man, this has to happen. It really really
- 45:30Speaker 1: has to happen. And then he called me and he's like, boom, do.
- 45:35Speaker 2: You want to let fly with who the he is
- 45:38Speaker 2: or not?
- 45:39Speaker 1: Or do you want to hold I'm going to he's
- 45:40Speaker 1: So he's a super controversial person, just like me.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Do you want to hold off on this?
- 45:48Speaker 1: Nope, Nope, I don't. I want to give this dude
- 45:52Speaker 1: a shout out. He just had a bone marrow transplant.
- 45:57Speaker 1: His ex wife died when he was down there. They
- 46:00Speaker 1: had just recently. He was still close to her and
- 46:03Speaker 1: the kids Kaisa, So he's been going through some lot.
- 46:09Speaker 1: You know, I don't think he has a long life
- 46:13Speaker 1: to live, and he's trying to make his amends and
- 46:16Speaker 1: that's what he's been doing. So Chris desrou is the
- 46:22Speaker 1: one making it real. It's no longer just an idea.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Hmm, well let's get down there and throw a camera
- 46:51Speaker 2: in his face. No he doesn't want it.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Oh no, No, he just had a bone marrow transplant. No, no, tomorrow.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I can't be in contact with anybody.
- 47:01Speaker 2: I'm not saying, Okay, I'm saying eventually.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean maybe like a zoom, maybe we could
- 47:08Speaker 1: get him on the phone. Okay, something like that. Okay,
- 47:11Speaker 1: but yeah, no, he's he can't be around people or anything.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Okay. Wow, thank you buddy. Thanks for getting in here man,
- 47:21Speaker 2: and and thanks for sharing that with us. There's some
- 47:24Speaker 2: really really big things on the horizon and it's exciting
- 47:29Speaker 2: as hell.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Yeah, really good things. And I love this again, Rex Thompson.

- 49:58Speaker 2: Washington County Mental Health is striving seven days a week,
- 50:02Speaker 2: literally around the clock, to help improve the quality of
- 50:06Speaker 2: mental health right here in our community, offering a variety
