- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the almost Famous podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 3: We are here at the baby shower with Bachelor Nation
- 0:11Speaker 3: Royalty Courtney and then her husband. And she was just
- 0:18Speaker 3: mentioning what she calls him outside of Umberto, and I
- 0:21Speaker 3: would love to hear what you call.
- 0:22Speaker 4: I'd love to hear that too. I love Umberto.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I mean, I feel like it can't get sexier.
- 0:27Speaker 4: I will be changing. I'm starting to get like I
- 0:33Speaker 4: got a pegleg in.
- 0:37Speaker 5: Depends on the day.
- 0:38Speaker 6: You usually a good day. What do you call h
- 0:42Speaker 6: or honey?
- 0:43Speaker 7: It's pretty ten h I.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Just call him age because it's eight. It's h U
- 0:46Speaker 5: M b E R t O.
- 0:47Speaker 6: And I took his last name, which is Presciotto, which
- 0:49Speaker 6: gets butchered. People call us Bob Guinea.
- 0:55Speaker 3: There's no chance you When he showed up to dinner
- 0:58Speaker 3: the first time, Bertha Pressiato, You're like, all right, well, Coney,
- 1:08Speaker 3: no kind of what happened?
- 1:11Speaker 4: I know this.
- 1:12Speaker 6: It's like, should we get a fish both sized? Marguerite,
- 1:14Speaker 6: I'm like, yes, let's get that.
- 1:17Speaker 2: How many months later did you have your first child?
- 1:19Speaker 4: Three?
- 1:20Speaker 7: How many months later would have.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Been fourteen months later? After the first day your first
- 1:27Speaker 3: child was born.
- 1:28Speaker 2: We're here, this is this is a great experience.
- 1:31Speaker 5: Late we met on Instagram, like you and Chess.
- 1:34Speaker 3: That's what we were talking about tonight, and I wanted
- 1:35Speaker 3: to dive into that right away. Is I asked in Berto,
- 1:38Speaker 3: how did you two met meet? And he said Instagram?
- 1:41Speaker 3: And I said, that's how my wife and I met,
- 1:43Speaker 3: Which is such an incredible thing that you hear it
- 1:46Speaker 3: more and more, I guess, but I would love for
- 1:49Speaker 3: you to just repeat because Courtney's obviously from this franchise.
- 1:53Speaker 3: People out there freaking out that they get the meet
- 1:55Speaker 3: her in person. You are not familiar with this franchise
- 1:58Speaker 3: and you weren't familiar with the friendranchise.
- 2:00Speaker 2: When you message each other, he doesn't care at all.
- 2:03Speaker 4: But when you why did.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You why did you message her? And how did this
- 2:11Speaker 2: even come about?
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:12Speaker 8: No, no, no, we talked about a little bit. I I
- 2:15Speaker 8: I knew who she was, knew of her sort of,
- 2:18Speaker 8: you know, because we're both from Phoenix. I feel like
- 2:20Speaker 8: she was, you know, on the news or TV or something.
- 2:23Speaker 7: I didn't. I didn't watch the batch, so I didn't
- 2:25Speaker 7: follow anything.
- 2:26Speaker 8: I had no real idea of you know, how it
- 2:28Speaker 8: all work for the most part. But I knew who
- 2:31Speaker 8: she was and she was on Instagram. I was new
- 2:33Speaker 8: to social media, you know.
- 2:35Speaker 7: I looked her up.
- 2:37Speaker 8: I saw her and uh, you know, I was telling
- 2:40Speaker 8: you to one of the things, like she was just
- 2:42Speaker 8: a cool girl. Like there wasn't a lot of like
- 2:45Speaker 8: risky photos you know she was.
- 2:47Speaker 7: It wasn't like, you know, it was just cool stuff.
- 2:49Speaker 4: She was cools put it out there.
- 2:52Speaker 8: Yeah, it wasn't like she wasn't like it just wasn't that.
- 2:56Speaker 8: You know, she has seemed very cool, very chill, right
- 2:59Speaker 8: down to earth.
- 3:00Speaker 7: You know. So I liked a few photos.
- 3:03Speaker 8: Sure enough, she ends up responding and sends me a
- 3:06Speaker 8: DM like do we know each other?
- 3:07Speaker 7: Have we ever met? And I'm like, no, I'm pretty
- 3:09Speaker 7: sure I remembered you.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Hold on, hold on. So this is interesting. So Courtney
- 3:13Speaker 4: actually theoretically like a lot of pictures I like bowling photos, basketball,
- 3:19Speaker 4: and no one's following me.
- 3:20Speaker 6: I had seen you had been like my photos for
- 3:22Speaker 6: two years.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But how did you know?
- 3:24Speaker 5: I just saw him.
- 3:25Speaker 6: You know how our feets can get a little crazy,
- 3:27Speaker 6: And I was like, oh, I've seen this guy, like
- 3:30Speaker 6: maybe you know in real estate you meet people, And
- 3:32Speaker 6: I was like, or you meet somebody and then they
- 3:34Speaker 6: follow you and then like you didn't.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Follow them back.
- 3:37Speaker 6: That's what I truly did think, like maybe we met before,
- 3:40Speaker 6: because I keep seeing his name in my feet like
- 3:42Speaker 6: as a like and then I to.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Be fair, it's not like John Smith. No, it's a
- 3:47Speaker 4: Bertha Press.
- 3:48Speaker 7: You gotta stand you.
- 3:51Speaker 5: That's and he never commented.
- 3:54Speaker 6: So I looked at his patures like phoenix looks like
- 3:56Speaker 6: it comes from a good family, not posting like weird stuff.
- 4:00Speaker 6: Like it was like all family oriented, which is like
- 4:02Speaker 6: my love language.
- 4:03Speaker 5: So I messaged him.
- 4:04Speaker 6: I was like, I'm just I kind of thought maybe
- 4:06Speaker 6: we met, but long story short, you wrote back right away.
- 4:09Speaker 6: We went on a date three days later. We lived
- 4:11Speaker 6: five blocks from each other on.
- 4:12Speaker 5: This same on the same street, on the same street.
- 4:15Speaker 6: And I was just like spent on dating. Like I
- 4:19Speaker 6: was like kind of at that, like you know, I
- 4:21Speaker 6: need to put myself out there more.
- 4:22Speaker 5: I'm my homebody.
- 4:23Speaker 6: And on that like first date, like he was like
- 4:26Speaker 6: with intention, like we had like a you actually liked
- 4:29Speaker 6: that I got up to check the sun's game.
- 4:31Speaker 8: I liked a lot of things I've told people I've
- 4:37Speaker 8: told what what's the One of the funniest parts of
- 4:40Speaker 8: that night was. I remember like it was yesterday, so
- 4:42Speaker 8: it was Friday. I don't Diamondbacks versus Red Sox opening day.
- 4:46Speaker 7: It was like a three.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Thirty first link too.
- 4:50Speaker 8: I go with one of my best friends, so i'd
- 4:51Speaker 8: lived with at the time, and we were We get
- 4:54Speaker 8: absolutely obliterated. We're like, met friends from his from work.
- 4:59Speaker 8: I knew another attorney who's there. She's a big Red
- 5:03Speaker 8: Sox fan. We're getting drinks. We end up doing shots
- 5:06Speaker 8: and I think Hennessey or something whatever.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no, it was. It was bad.
- 5:11Speaker 7: It was all bad. I called her.
- 5:13Speaker 8: We hadn't met yet, and I called her and I
- 5:15Speaker 8: was like, listen, I want to meet up. I still
- 5:17Speaker 8: want to be help with you, but I got to
- 5:18Speaker 8: tell you something I'm not.
- 5:20Speaker 6: I was already in an uber to meet it because
- 5:22Speaker 6: guys picked me up to meet this night.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 8: I was like, I'm in bad shape, Like just so
- 5:27Speaker 8: you tonight and I said maybe not tonight, Like I'm
- 5:29Speaker 8: not trying to I'm not trying to flake on you,
- 5:32Speaker 8: Like I'm just trying to be like, don't hold it
- 5:37Speaker 8: against the kind of best version and She's like, no, no.
- 5:41Speaker 7: We're good, Like I'm gonna I'll be right there.
- 5:43Speaker 8: I remember like running down the stream in Phoenix to
- 5:46Speaker 8: catch my uber. Like I remember like I saw someone
- 5:48Speaker 8: that I knew was like yelling at me.
- 5:50Speaker 7: Like what are you doing. I was like, I got
- 5:51Speaker 7: to catch an.
- 5:51Speaker 8: Uber because yeah, so it might have been like he
- 5:57Speaker 8: was going to a son's game.
- 5:58Speaker 7: So he was in a parking street person.
- 6:00Speaker 6: Jeans and John Taylor's and I was like, I'm not
- 6:03Speaker 6: putting much into this.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I was like, so over dating.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So I mean, this is where it comes to you.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Then you obviously come off the show and like attention
- 6:14Speaker 3: was not something that maybe you wanted, but you were getting.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Well, you were a lightning rod I d right. I mean,
- 6:23Speaker 4: you're the only one I've ever seen a meme. It's like,
- 6:26Speaker 4: you know, it was so good.
- 6:31Speaker 6: Now they would have just just tortured me, and with
- 6:34Speaker 6: the memes and the.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Tetok I felt like they kind of did then in
- 6:37Speaker 4: a weird way. But you came off as in this
- 6:40Speaker 4: way that you were just kind of like double guns
- 6:42Speaker 4: in it every step of the way. But it's not you.
- 6:46Speaker 4: You're such a your version of the person that we
- 6:50Speaker 4: saw on that show, and I mean that is a
- 6:52Speaker 4: very big compent.
- 6:53Speaker 5: By the way, You're not kind of you to say, well,
- 6:55Speaker 5: I honestly.
- 6:56Speaker 9: You're such a great word for he literally watch watch
- 7:04Speaker 9: you know that you like practiced eight times.
- 7:08Speaker 7: Using the perfect I'm using the perfect tak.
- 7:13Speaker 5: The thing that I loved you.
- 7:15Speaker 6: I mean to take it back to like put a
- 7:16Speaker 6: bow on that story was like I remember that night.
- 7:18Speaker 6: I didn't want to lead with the show stuff. He
- 7:21Speaker 6: didn't care about it. And it was hard to date
- 7:23Speaker 6: after the show because people saw me and they're like, oh,
- 7:26Speaker 6: she's this girl who went skinny topping and this and that,
- 7:29Speaker 6: and like I attracted a lot of like.
- 7:31Speaker 5: The wrong type of people.
- 7:32Speaker 6: Sure, but like when I met you, he just like
- 7:34Speaker 6: you said, doesn't care and he's like the least cool
- 7:37Speaker 6: thing about you is that you after you got to
- 7:39Speaker 6: know me a little bit, is that you went on
- 7:40Speaker 6: The Bachelor, And I was like, thank you, like whereas
- 7:44Speaker 6: when I will.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Don't all hope that's what our partners. I watch the
- 7:48Speaker 4: show either, so.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And I think Jessica and I have talked about the show.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Did she did she watch her season? He's not watched mine.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Goodness, we've talked about the show and like intimacy and
- 7:58Speaker 3: not just like passing, oh there's a or whatever. Five
- 8:01Speaker 3: times in our relationship. I think most of those were
- 8:03Speaker 3: within the first few months, like it's not a thing,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and it was yeah, it's refreshing, I guess. But like
- 8:12Speaker 3: here's my question for you. There wasn't like a moment
- 8:15Speaker 3: where I was like, oh, it's so nice not to
- 8:17Speaker 3: have this a part of my life or talk about
- 8:19Speaker 3: it or whatever, because it is something I'm you know,
- 8:20Speaker 3: it's a big part of my life.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Yes, you're still in it, you do a podcast.
- 8:25Speaker 3: It's different with my wife, like it's I know when
- 8:28Speaker 3: I'm with her.
- 8:30Speaker 2: There was never that idea.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Or never that baggage or never that those questions and so.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Expectation, expectations.
- 8:37Speaker 3: So what about this relationship made you go this is
- 8:42Speaker 3: what I actually want to commit to?
- 8:45Speaker 5: Yeah, oh gosh, so many things. I mean, I mean
- 8:47Speaker 5: you look at like.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Going on a first date, like core values like family
- 8:51Speaker 6: and the way he talked about his mom even on
- 8:53Speaker 6: the first date and he went to law school in
- 8:55Speaker 6: New York and then it's not his mom this, No,
- 8:59Speaker 6: he didn't we talked about like on our first date,
- 9:06Speaker 6: like I I believe it or not, this is a
- 9:08Speaker 6: kind of an interesting story. On our first date that morning,
- 9:10Speaker 6: I went because I was thirty six, and I went
- 9:12Speaker 6: into look into freezing my eggs because I was like,
- 9:15Speaker 6: I'm ready to like really actively date here. I remember
- 9:18Speaker 6: you texted me that morning and you were like, what
- 9:20Speaker 6: are you doing today? I was like, I have a meeting.
- 9:22Speaker 6: I'm actually going to Like, look, I think I just
- 9:24Speaker 6: told you. I was like, I was like I want
- 9:26Speaker 6: to meet people and be like I'm like thirty six,
- 9:29Speaker 6: Like I knew I wanted a family, and you told
- 9:31Speaker 6: me that night. You're like if I met somebody who
- 9:33Speaker 6: didn't want a family, that would be a non starter.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Like we talked like like I knew, Like you know.
- 9:37Speaker 6: When you go on a date when you're single and
- 9:39Speaker 6: you're like, is this a date? Like we just met
- 9:41Speaker 6: on Instagram friends. Yeah, but like we talked about like
- 9:45Speaker 6: it felt like an old school date, like core values.
- 9:48Speaker 6: He talked about going to law school, his mom got
- 9:50Speaker 6: diagnosed with breast cancer right before he left, and should
- 9:52Speaker 6: I go, and like just the way he talked about
- 9:54Speaker 6: his family and he met my family like right away,
- 9:58Speaker 6: which I never do. Yeah, I mean, and they loved him.
- 10:02Speaker 6: But like, apart from the show, I mean, that's a
- 10:04Speaker 6: tough question. I just yard saled. Sorry, guys, I met
- 10:08Speaker 6: the bridal shower, the baby shower.
- 10:11Speaker 7: There would have been guilt, that was the thought.
- 10:13Speaker 8: But I talked to my mom and you know, my
- 10:16Speaker 8: sister and family, and there would have at the end
- 10:19Speaker 8: of the day, there would have been more guilt not
- 10:21Speaker 8: to go. I don't stay. You can't do anything if
- 10:26Speaker 8: you If you stay for her, she's going to be
- 10:29Speaker 8: miserable and she's going to think she kept you, she.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Kept you back from right.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Yeah, but we did have some growing pains in the
- 10:35Speaker 6: beginning of our relationship. Everybody everybody does, so like I
- 10:40Speaker 6: don't think he really I was like, well, you didn't
- 10:42Speaker 6: do your homework because he was like once we started
- 10:45Speaker 6: getting serious, I mean we met in April and then
- 10:48Speaker 6: he moved in in July because I wouldn't like I knew.
- 10:52Speaker 5: I was like, this is the person for me.
- 10:53Speaker 6: But then like the book stuff started, Like I think
- 10:56Speaker 6: he kind of like started hearing stuff and like that,
- 10:58Speaker 6: you know the clickbait ben oh, yeah, the clickbait and
- 11:01Speaker 6: like how headlines are I'm like, you gotta like, you
- 11:03Speaker 6: don't you're not getting context about my book. Like if
- 11:06Speaker 6: you read like the you know when you go on
- 11:08Speaker 6: a podcast, they don't do their due diligence and it's like, oh,
- 11:10Speaker 6: I just read the cliffs notes, like yeah, there's more
- 11:12Speaker 6: to make.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Friends, and you did this and you did that.
- 11:15Speaker 6: It's like it's like that's just a headline, but like
- 11:17Speaker 6: you didn't read and Ben wrote a book, like you know,
- 11:20Speaker 6: there's more to the story.
- 11:22Speaker 5: But it was it was you were like, what if
- 11:25Speaker 5: we have kids.
- 11:25Speaker 6: Someday and they're like, I'm you know, your mom would
- 11:28Speaker 6: like what are his friends going to say? And I
- 11:30Speaker 6: was like, they're gonna say, my mom wrote a New
- 11:32Speaker 6: York Times bestseller, right, and that she's a strong, independent woman,
- 11:37Speaker 6: and and we little stuff like that, but then we
- 11:40Speaker 6: got through it.
- 11:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 4: No, So that's that's what defines not just relationships with friendships, right,
- 11:45Speaker 4: You go through adversity and you come out the other
- 11:47Speaker 4: end stronger.
- 11:48Speaker 7: No.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I think it says a lot about all relationships, like
- 11:51Speaker 4: you go through your things and you come out on
- 11:53Speaker 4: the other side. If you don't have any challenges, then
- 11:55Speaker 4: you never know what you're made of.
- 11:56Speaker 8: I just think for me, personally, I think it was
- 11:58Speaker 8: just something obviously new to me.
- 12:00Speaker 7: I was not in the public eye.
- 12:01Speaker 8: I'd never had anybody talk to me or take pictures
- 12:04Speaker 8: of me or anything, you know.
- 12:06Speaker 7: I I think that the timing was for the most.
- 12:09Speaker 8: Part, when we announced Joaquin, you know, the pregnancy was
- 12:15Speaker 8: hard for him, and I was like, well, you know,
- 12:17Speaker 8: I felt like Joaquin's like the pregnancy and our baby
- 12:21Speaker 8: was kind of second fiddle to like anything they could
- 12:25Speaker 8: say negative about Courtney, like she was this, she was
- 12:29Speaker 8: that she was the villain. It was like pictures of
- 12:32Speaker 8: the Bachelor instead of like I was like, well, it's
- 12:35Speaker 8: something nice for us to announce, like we were in
- 12:37Speaker 8: New York, you know, we pictures from New York that
- 12:40Speaker 8: we you know, the magazine.
- 12:41Speaker 5: Guy I love New York one.
- 12:43Speaker 8: Yeah, And it was like everything was tailored towards like
- 12:46Speaker 8: ridiculing her and like bringing up old stuff with her
- 12:49Speaker 8: rather than like, oh, yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 7: We're gonna have a baby. Guys, Like it's kind of it's.
- 12:52Speaker 4: The dark side of of what we've all been blessed with, Right,
- 12:56Speaker 4: you get this opportunity. There's great things that come with it,
- 12:59Speaker 4: but there's also that ship that comes with it too.
- 13:01Speaker 4: That that is exactly what you're talking about, where they're
- 13:04Speaker 4: they're almost unearthing stuff to not let you celebrate that moment,
- 13:07Speaker 4: right just to point out, you know. And it's she.
- 13:10Speaker 6: And she's like, it's like, we're not going to send
- 13:12Speaker 6: these articles to Like he's like, I don't want to
- 13:14Speaker 6: send this to my parents.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Like it stills.
- 13:20Speaker 3: This day, like you, oh, yeah, we announced that we
- 13:25Speaker 3: got pregnant. And then at the end of the article
- 13:26Speaker 3: is like Ben Higgins and Lorne Bushnell in season whatever
- 13:31Speaker 3: broke up, and it's like, well, that's a wild ending
- 13:34Speaker 3: too for us.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Or for us our kids will do something and they'll say,
- 13:38Speaker 4: Bob was previously married to actress and it's like.
- 13:41Speaker 2: They still have.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Her own family too, and we like each other and
- 13:46Speaker 4: we're fine, Like you don't have to tell me. You
- 13:48Speaker 4: have to remind everyone that you know.
- 13:59Speaker 2: But here is the point to it all.
- 14:01Speaker 3: And I'm Bertha, this is a question for you like history,
- 14:05Speaker 3: and I think it's a good lesson for any of
- 14:06Speaker 3: it listens to us who has been on the show,
- 14:09Speaker 3: Like that was a really terrible moment history. That's that's brutal,
- 14:14Speaker 3: that that was the way that existed, and that the
- 14:16Speaker 3: way that people handled it. But looking back now, like
- 14:19Speaker 3: those negative stories are no longer really they hold no
- 14:23Speaker 3: weight in your life.
- 14:23Speaker 2: I'm assuming, right, zero.
- 14:25Speaker 7: Zero, I care less, Like, yeah, it means nothing anymore.
- 14:28Speaker 8: Like I said, time heels life.
- 14:32Speaker 3: For anybody is when they're sitting in these moments of despair,
- 14:35Speaker 3: no matter where you're at, if you've been on the
- 14:36Speaker 3: show or you're just maybe you have a bad rumor
- 14:38Speaker 3: in high school.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Right, we have a lot of high schoolers.
- 14:41Speaker 3: That listen to this thing, sure, and they're sitting there
- 14:43Speaker 3: like this is the world's falling down around me.
- 14:46Speaker 7: Everybody hates me, and I get it.
- 14:48Speaker 3: It's not an that's that's not a feeling that you
- 14:51Speaker 3: should feel a shame about or that nobody else has
- 14:54Speaker 3: felt that way. We've all probably room could have those
- 14:57Speaker 3: time and and some some length will look back and
- 15:00Speaker 3: you'll be like, that was a moment I had some growth.
- 15:03Speaker 3: It's understanding I saw things maybe a little more clearly.
- 15:06Speaker 4: It's a perspective.
- 15:07Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I mean that time heals all wounds, and
- 15:10Speaker 7: time is obviously it's you know cyclical.
- 15:14Speaker 8: Yeah, like and time like I don't have time to
- 15:18Speaker 8: deal with it. I mean like, yeah, three kids, like
- 15:25Speaker 8: three kids, Like for me to go read articles now,
- 15:27Speaker 8: I can guarantee you that's not happening, Like I don't care,
- 15:30Speaker 8: Like honestly, at this point, they.
- 15:31Speaker 7: Can write whatever they want, like, you know, person, I
- 15:34Speaker 7: don't care.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Person. It's like it doesn't matter what I did.
- 15:38Speaker 7: Then, Like that's not any different.
- 15:41Speaker 8: You know, the love was there, it's just the fact
- 15:43Speaker 8: that like I think I was annoyed.
- 15:46Speaker 7: That's like you know, you're.
- 15:47Speaker 8: Yeah, you're like you're taking away from our stuff, like
- 15:51Speaker 8: you're attacking her.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Well or maybe not attacking, but like I remember one
- 15:55Speaker 7: of the articles or the like.
- 15:57Speaker 8: The clickbaits or the you know, the the links was
- 15:59Speaker 8: like the ending of it was like the proposal for
- 16:02Speaker 8: her and the Bachelor. Yeah, like you know like if
- 16:08Speaker 8: I send this to my sisters, they're gonna like watch
- 16:11Speaker 8: the proposal, like they're not going to see like because
- 16:13Speaker 8: it'd be cool, right, Like not everybody has People magazine
- 16:17Speaker 8: for their kids.
- 16:18Speaker 4: You're going to have that in Touch or whatever it is.
- 16:20Speaker 8: You know, it's like it's cool if they're they're on
- 16:23Speaker 8: this and there's an article about them, Like they'll all
- 16:25Speaker 8: get to see an article about them someday, right, but
- 16:28Speaker 8: it's like the stuff with walking, especially Joaquin, like it's
- 16:32Speaker 8: fizzled out as you get to baby number three. Yeah, Joaquin,
- 16:35Speaker 8: like every article was like Courtney's first child.
- 16:39Speaker 7: You know, she was the villain, she was a little.
- 16:45Speaker 8: And then it was like the end was like the proposal,
- 16:48Speaker 8: and I was like, you know.
- 16:50Speaker 5: It really went for it. But I sure just has
- 16:53Speaker 5: dealt with that.
- 16:54Speaker 4: So I had I look out for Canyon my wife
- 16:58Speaker 4: a lot with those moments when we had all her
- 17:00Speaker 4: name's Jessica also, but yeah, I call her Candy as long. Sorry,
- 17:04Speaker 4: but I remember saying I was like, thank you. I
- 17:06Speaker 4: remember saying to them. I was like, guys, like I
- 17:08Speaker 4: get it when you walk like, well, my mom walks
- 17:10Speaker 4: into the grocery store and sees me on the cover
- 17:13Speaker 4: of magazine with the split down the middle and all
- 17:14Speaker 4: this kind of shit, and it's conjecture. I'm not Brad Pitt,
- 17:18Speaker 4: Like I'm not getting twenty million a movie, right, I'm
- 17:21Speaker 4: a real show guy who's going back to his day gig,
- 17:25Speaker 4: so leave me alone. Yeah, and I saw get it
- 17:28Speaker 4: on Bertha. I really do, like I get it, Like
- 17:30Speaker 4: there comes a point where you're like the you know,
- 17:32Speaker 4: then for me, you know, and like, what the hell
- 17:35Speaker 4: you know? So I I do totally get that, and
- 17:37Speaker 4: I get what you're saying. I think there are moments
- 17:39Speaker 4: when you're kind of like, you know, and back then
- 17:41Speaker 4: it was actual, real magazines. Now it's all online. Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 4: hur'st way worse, I think, because anyone can say whatever
- 17:46Speaker 4: they want, you know, online and you know, you know,
- 17:48Speaker 4: no one, I.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Don't go there. It's the dark, you know.
- 17:51Speaker 4: But back then it was like I'd see it on
- 17:52Speaker 4: the cover of magazine when I'm at Farmer Jack's with
- 17:55Speaker 4: my mom and it's like this really sucks, you know,
- 17:59Speaker 4: because I didn't know that was coming out this yeah
- 18:01Speaker 4: or whatever. So okay, guys, I love first of all,
- 18:05Speaker 4: I love your guys relationship. I know we both courtey
- 18:08Speaker 4: I have. I've always adored you, and I love on
- 18:12Speaker 4: birth the Press. I think it's so cool to have
- 18:15Speaker 4: you guys in the show. But it is time to
- 18:17Speaker 4: play a game that, you know, because Ben is a
- 18:20Speaker 4: new dad to be and I don't think that Ben
- 18:22Speaker 4: really understands what goes into this whole game. Right now,
- 18:25Speaker 4: he gets it, like he's got to say, for college,
- 18:27Speaker 4: right he gets in this stuff, but does Ben understand
- 18:31Speaker 4: how much certain things cost at this stage in the game.
- 18:34Speaker 4: So what we're gonna do is, we're gonna play a
- 18:36Speaker 4: game called the Price is Right, which I've always wanted
- 18:38Speaker 4: to do. We're gonna guess the price of these common
- 18:41Speaker 4: baby items. I'm gonna go to my two experienced resources
- 18:46Speaker 4: after Ben has already answered the question. Okay, so Ben,
- 18:51Speaker 4: you may or may not know this, but a baby
- 18:53Speaker 4: bathtub is a necessity, right, So you can't just show
- 18:56Speaker 4: your kid in a real time game. We're gonna play
- 18:58Speaker 4: this game. You gotta throw him at a to that you know.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Not only does it show you the temperature, which you
- 19:02Speaker 4: may gauge with your elbow, now is going to show
- 19:05Speaker 4: us the weight of this child when the water weight
- 19:08Speaker 4: is dispersed. There are several items that go into digital display,
- 19:12Speaker 4: items that go into this bathtub.
- 19:13Speaker 2: So this is a digital bathtub.
- 19:15Speaker 4: It is a well, it's a standard baby bathtub. Actually
- 19:18Speaker 4: that you would get a bad bathroom beyond it, I
- 19:19Speaker 4: still exist it or some other.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Child they go, they gone.
- 19:24Speaker 4: So Ben, in your mind, what would a baby bathtub cost?
- 19:29Speaker 4: And is someone keeping track of these items? Or five
- 19:32Speaker 4: forty five dollars? I think okay, I feel like you cheated.
- 19:37Speaker 6: First of all, can I interject here, Yes, I don't
- 19:41Speaker 6: think we have a digital bathtub.
- 19:43Speaker 5: I think we need to clarify digital baths.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Experience.
- 19:50Speaker 7: We are not good parents, I guess I think that you.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Guys are a little bit more old school.
- 19:55Speaker 6: If you have a digital one or a plastic one,
- 19:57Speaker 6: that could be a big just for you.
- 20:00Speaker 8: Put plastic ones in the bath so that the baby
- 20:03Speaker 8: can fit. But if there is but I would say thirty,
- 20:06Speaker 8: I would say thirty.
- 20:08Speaker 6: I'd say nineteen ninety nine ninety nine, all right, nineteen
- 20:11Speaker 6: ninety nine thirty and ben, I would say forty nine
- 20:15Speaker 6: ninety nine one dollar.
- 20:18Speaker 7: No, I would think you would think way more. Dig
- 20:22Speaker 7: it's temperature temperature, gage temperature gauging.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Way bottles.
- 20:26Speaker 3: This way, Let's run through all the items, and then
- 20:29Speaker 3: we'll run through all the items with them so they
- 20:31Speaker 3: have a chance to think about this.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Because I gotta be honest, I want that answer of
- 20:35Speaker 4: Courtney's to be her.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Okay, fair, that's fair. I'm running down.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Forget what on Berto said, doesn't need the family shop. Yeah, okay, guys,
- 20:45Speaker 4: now we're onto a package of baby socks. I'm gonna
- 20:48Speaker 4: go to Ben first Ben package.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Of baby socks twelve dollars.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Twelve dollars. Guys, I'm guessing you did buy socks for
- 20:56Speaker 4: your children. I'm getting you.
- 20:57Speaker 5: To seven ninety nine, eight books.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Seven Wow, your youngest right now?
- 21:03Speaker 5: Seven months? It doesn't wear, So he.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Doesn't wear Socking's good enough.
- 21:08Speaker 7: We live in Phoenix, the hottest place on the planet.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Flip flops.
- 21:14Speaker 8: If we put him in diapers, he sweats, all right.
- 21:18Speaker 4: A sleep sack do we use? Oh? Yeah, okay, to
- 21:22Speaker 4: a bench first? Then what's the cost of a sleep sack?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Seventeen ninety nine?
- 21:27Speaker 4: Okay, oh my god, you guys, I'm nailing these costs
- 21:31Speaker 4: in my head, so clearly I'm way too obsessed with
- 21:33Speaker 4: this stuff.
- 21:34Speaker 7: Courtney is about eight different options, which.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Not thermal, more of a jersey for speed speed.
- 21:46Speaker 6: I don't know why I go with the ninety nineteen.
- 21:49Speaker 6: What do you say, that's how they get you to
- 21:50Speaker 6: buy him?
- 21:50Speaker 4: No, I like it.
- 21:53Speaker 8: I would say the cheaper and yeah, forty to fifty bucks,
- 21:56Speaker 8: let's go, we'll go forty.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Yeah, a package of twenty five diapers. We're going minimal absorption.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Thirteen dollars, thirteen dollars I'm.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Gonna go to Umberto next, and then I'm gonna Courtney last.
- 22:13Speaker 4: It feels like a lot.
- 22:14Speaker 2: That's like fifty cents a.
- 22:15Speaker 7: Diaper, Yeah, twenty twenty five diapers.
- 22:18Speaker 8: I'm guessing twenty bucks twenty yeah.
- 22:22Speaker 5: For twenty five diapers.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Twenty five diapers a lot more.
- 22:27Speaker 2: This podcast you.
- 22:29Speaker 5: Share with your same absorbs. There's not like a plus.
- 22:34Speaker 4: I know, I was thinking of Sorry, I's going with
- 22:36Speaker 4: tampons an eleven years, eleven year guy.
- 22:45Speaker 5: I would say twelve ninety.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Nine for twelve twelve nine nine thirteen bucks, same as me.
- 22:53Speaker 4: She said twelve nine nine though is at thirteen. Yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 4: there's a difference. There's a difference, a difference high chair
- 23:00Speaker 4: ben high chairs not magnetic, which they do exist, by
- 23:04Speaker 4: the way, I'm just talking standard issue high chair thirty
- 23:08Speaker 4: five dollars fifty.
- 23:10Speaker 8: Bucks for me fifty I'll go fifty yeah, same as
- 23:13Speaker 8: quarantine fifty.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Wow. Welcome to the new world.
- 23:16Speaker 6: What would your guest be, I would say, hot mic
- 23:19Speaker 6: over there.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Yeah, he was like, do you have the answer? But
- 23:23Speaker 4: I can say kids are expensive, gang kids are expensive.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I think we were selling a lot of generous coffee
- 23:31Speaker 4: to get to this high chair.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I need a cup of coffee.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Now, a bottle drying rack. This is plastic, ugly.
- 23:38Speaker 8: Doctor bronze, Doctor Brown's, Doctor Brown's.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Okay, Ben, where's your head? Bottle drying rack?
- 23:46Speaker 2: Bottle drying rack? Like, it's not any different than when
- 23:49Speaker 2: I put my.
- 23:49Speaker 7: Six bottles, six bottles.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Let's go Britel's correct.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Uh, forty bucks?
- 23:55Speaker 4: Okay, I'm bertil.
- 23:56Speaker 7: Actually I was going a little cheaper. I was gonna
- 23:58Speaker 7: go thirty.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Okay, I was going to go twenty five.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Oh my twenty let's go in the middle of twenty
- 24:04Speaker 3: seven for you guys.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Sorry, if I'm making a gang.
- 24:07Speaker 4: A bascinet. It's the thing that you put next to
- 24:09Speaker 4: the bed. They don't they rock with some music? For
- 24:14Speaker 4: I think that.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Why did I immediately think of that to be the
- 24:16Speaker 3: thing that the women put on that like tightens their
- 24:18Speaker 3: bodies up and puts their boobs up higher.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Of course, that's a course, of course.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was thinking of when they said I.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Like it, that's of course.
- 24:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 4: I watched the Empress. I know.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Okay, bacinet.
- 24:36Speaker 4: Then where's your head? What's your price?
- 24:38Speaker 2: One hundred and twenty four dollars?
- 24:39Speaker 4: All right?
- 24:40Speaker 7: Okay, I was gonna say one fifty excellent.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Two.

- 24:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I get all the things.
- 24:50Speaker 4: That's okay, all right, Kendall's got them.
- 24:52Speaker 5: So because I'm feeling like I'm no, I.

- 25:14Speaker 4: Two hundred, okay, two hundred activity Matt. Now, I want
- 25:19Speaker 4: to take this one step further because some act well
- 25:22Speaker 4: one might think a rug, but some activity mats include water,
- 25:25Speaker 4: they include gelatin items, they include little stars that move around.
- 25:30Speaker 8: And there's also no and better than a rug because
- 25:34Speaker 8: you don't smack your head on it.
- 25:36Speaker 7: We've learned. We've learned, I would say from.
- 25:39Speaker 2: The Amazon, you smack your head on a rug.
- 25:42Speaker 7: No, I'm talking about the babies. The baby to keep.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Them from.
- 25:49Speaker 7: The rug has like a little thump though they had it.
- 25:52Speaker 8: The mat is like, yeah, there's watertime if I fire
- 25:59Speaker 8: remember correctly, it's one fifty okay, and you're talking about
- 26:03Speaker 8: like the size of a queen or king bed or something.
- 26:06Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, we're going much smarter than that. We're
- 26:08Speaker 4: gonna say just a single.
- 26:10Speaker 6: Oh oh the time, mat time we had our handed
- 26:14Speaker 6: down to fifty.
- 26:15Speaker 5: All right, forty forty, maybe even thirty.
- 26:19Speaker 4: All right, guys, this is our last option. I'm not
- 26:22Speaker 4: gonna specify what capabilities. I'm not going to specify talkable
- 26:28Speaker 4: back and forth capabilities, but those are.
- 26:30Speaker 3: You're doing this because Jessica and I have had these
- 26:32Speaker 3: conversations about if we get Wi Fi or not.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I know exactly where you're going.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Baby Monitor. You can hard wire these things, or you
- 26:37Speaker 4: can WiFi them. You can have talk to and talk

- 30:25Speaker 4: ninety nine for a baby Matt. I think Berto came
- 30:29Speaker 4: in strong at one fifty. I changed my answer though
- 30:32Speaker 4: he did. He changed like thirty. He said forty. I'm
- 30:38Speaker 4: giving it to on Berto at eighty eighty.
- 30:41Speaker 7: You gotta no, that's not cheap.

- 31:15Speaker 4: series and the one who I think knows what's up
- 31:18Speaker 4: when it comes to baby stuff. Lady and gentlemen, Coy
- 31:22Speaker 4: Courtney Robinson, guys, total cost baby bats up back into
- 31:31Speaker 4: baby sox, sleepsack, diapers, high chair, trying rack et cetera.

- 31:41Speaker 2: Diapers.
- 31:42Speaker 4: You multiply that by three, that's a twenty hundred dollars
- 31:45Speaker 4: starting kit.
- 31:46Speaker 5: I'll sign it to you.
- 31:47Speaker 7: I can take as many hand me downs as you can.
- 31:50Speaker 5: That's what we do, and.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Diaper sponsorships, Bobby. One last question I do.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I thank you for letting me ask it. So, guys,
- 32:02Speaker 4: Ben Higgins easily the most sensitive of the Bachelor's I
- 32:06Speaker 4: love him so much. I love this guy. He didn't
- 32:10Speaker 4: think he was worthy of love when you went on
- 32:11Speaker 4: the show, and now he is this guy who's in
- 32:14Speaker 4: this incredibly loving relationship. They are expecting a child. We
- 32:17Speaker 4: are here for the baby shower, the two of you.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Let's give him a little bit of advice. Okay, what
- 32:24Speaker 4: is the best piece of advice you can give to
- 32:26Speaker 4: my dear friend Ben Higgins about having a child, being
- 32:31Speaker 4: a father, being a father in Berto? Go ahead?
- 32:33Speaker 6: Well, first of all, I would say, do you want advice,
- 32:35Speaker 6: because I don't think you need any want. I truly
- 32:39Speaker 6: don't think you need advice.
- 32:40Speaker 4: He doesn't need it. He's a genius, this kid.
- 32:44Speaker 6: Everybody knows, Harret, you're having a girl, right I would
- 32:48Speaker 6: just give you a cup. I thought about this on
- 32:50Speaker 6: our way out here. First of all, you're gonna have
- 32:54Speaker 6: unconditional love your heart. It's like the Grinch. Your heart's
- 32:56Speaker 6: gonna grow exponentially. Like it's that feeling is I wish
- 33:01Speaker 6: you could bottle up and sell it. And your love
- 33:03Speaker 6: for your wife is going to be even that much stronger.
- 33:07Speaker 6: As I speak for you, but like for my husband,
- 33:10Speaker 6: it is like it's just it bonds you that much
- 33:13Speaker 6: better and like we're closer.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Also, wipe front to back.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Right, because it's a girl.
- 33:21Speaker 5: It's a girl front to back.
- 33:24Speaker 7: Yes, you know, whatever you want with the boys.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Those kids, tell them, just to make sure it's clean.
- 33:33Speaker 4: You go front to back for obvious reasons.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Now take a lot of phoes and take a lot
- 33:37Speaker 6: of photos of you of Jess with the baby, because
- 33:40Speaker 6: I have so many in my cameras, all the babies
- 33:43Speaker 6: and him. But take pictures of Jess too, like candids.
- 33:47Speaker 6: That's my advice to you, and just enjoy it. I mean,
- 33:50Speaker 6: you're going to be amazing.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Front to back.
- 33:53Speaker 5: And also don't let her sit in.
- 33:55Speaker 6: You know, with girl the parts are different, so you know,
- 33:57Speaker 6: if she's wet. Like with boys, you can kind of
- 33:59Speaker 6: let them and their we diapers longer. Just change her
- 34:03Speaker 6: now you know the price of diapers.
- 34:04Speaker 8: So yeah, I think a couple of things I would
- 34:11Speaker 8: say is be present, literally and figuratively, like your kids
- 34:15Speaker 8: want to be around you. You know, we're leaving today
- 34:17Speaker 8: this morning to fly out here. You know, they're saying,
- 34:20Speaker 8: you know, our girl Plomb was like, Daddy, you know.
- 34:22Speaker 7: Stay home.
- 34:23Speaker 8: I want you to stay home, like, don't leave, don't
- 34:25Speaker 8: have like you'll be fine, You'll be fine.
- 34:27Speaker 7: Like they want you either to be present. My mom
- 34:30Speaker 7: my mom watches them, so she's.
- 34:32Speaker 8: Shout out to Nana. She's spending the night with them.
- 34:34Speaker 8: The present literally with them figuratively like, you know, be.
- 34:39Speaker 7: In the moment, you know when they're around, you.
- 34:41Speaker 8: Know, be you know obviously we all have cell phones,
- 34:44Speaker 8: will have things to do. We got food to make
- 34:46Speaker 8: and chores and everything else.
- 34:48Speaker 7: But you know, be present. The other thing is we
- 34:50Speaker 7: got a lot of butts to clean right now. Absolutely.
- 34:52Speaker 7: The other thing is I think you have to try,
- 34:54Speaker 7: you know what I mean.
- 34:55Speaker 8: Like I'm a big sports guy, and you know, I
- 34:58Speaker 8: don't think you picked the athlete. You don't get to
- 35:02Speaker 8: be good at something by sitting on your ass and
- 35:03Speaker 8: doing nothing.
- 35:04Speaker 4: You got to try. Kobe Bryant like the black Man, right, Yeah.
- 35:07Speaker 8: I'm a I'm a Lakers fan like mama isn't sitting
- 35:10Speaker 8: around every day eating Bond bonds, watching TV shows like
- 35:13Speaker 8: he's working at it. And that's saying like I go
- 35:15Speaker 8: to bed at night, we go to bed and we're tired,
- 35:17Speaker 8: like I busted my ass all day, either I'm at
- 35:19Speaker 8: work or I'm at home and I'm doing stuff and
- 35:22Speaker 8: I'm trying, like I'm trying to take care of my kids.
- 35:26Speaker 7: Like that's the deal. I might not be good at it,
- 35:28Speaker 7: like I might not be.
- 35:30Speaker 8: I have a feeling I'm trying, like I was saying,
- 35:32Speaker 8: like every night I go to bed, I'm tired.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I know.
- 35:35Speaker 8: I'm like, you gotta try.
- 35:38Speaker 4: I think you hit the jackpot. Honestly, God with this guy,
- 35:42Speaker 4: I really do, because i've for years. What a pleasure
- 35:48Speaker 4: to meet you, man, And it's not easy to be
- 35:52Speaker 4: it's not easy to be someone who's who's married to
- 35:54Speaker 4: someone from this franchise.
- 35:55Speaker 6: It's just not today's I'm gonna send her a gift, yeah,
- 36:02Speaker 6: please do. And I want to send you a little
- 36:04Speaker 6: snuggy like little things that like, there are certain things
- 36:07Speaker 6: that you you will use like constantly, and they're not
- 36:10Speaker 6: the big ticket items. They're like little things like the
- 36:12Speaker 6: sug that smells like you that we.
- 36:15Speaker 5: Like, I wouldn't send you just random and that makes
- 36:19Speaker 5: you happy.
- 36:19Speaker 8: Like the stuff that we use and end up using,
- 36:22Speaker 8: the things that people bought a lot about is the excess, dude,
- 36:26Speaker 8: we had. If you have diapers, if you have formula,
- 36:29Speaker 8: and if you have like we use these little white
- 36:31Speaker 8: T shirts you snap on.
- 36:35Speaker 6: Because it would have these little umbilical cords, so like
- 36:38Speaker 6: you want to address.
- 36:39Speaker 7: Them, like, we had so many clothes that they never wore.
- 36:43Speaker 7: We had so many things they never played with. The
- 36:45Speaker 7: first the first Christmas.
- 36:47Speaker 8: With walking, all you want to do is play with
- 36:49Speaker 8: the wrapping paper like you didn't care about anything like it.
- 36:52Speaker 7: They're so simple.
- 36:54Speaker 8: Break it down, get them a cardboard box and they'll
- 36:57Speaker 8: play in it for an hour. And then when they
- 36:58Speaker 8: learn how to write and draw the drawn at for
- 37:00Speaker 8: hours like.
- 37:01Speaker 6: It's and then Dad breaks down the boxes and that
- 37:04Speaker 6: goes does just do that?
- 37:06Speaker 2: No, I break down the boxes.
- 37:08Speaker 5: Oh, I just throw them outside and I see him
- 37:10Speaker 5: out there.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Like.
- 37:12Speaker 3: She has this step in the garage. She just kind
- 37:14Speaker 3: of tosses them off. They all into this pile. And
- 37:17Speaker 3: then about every two days I walk down Amazon.
- 37:20Speaker 2: It is my.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Worst night's double Ben, my headphones on and my knife
- 37:26Speaker 3: and I just slice, slice and.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Spice and dice back them as we go.
