- 0:09Speaker 2: How you guys going hot?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Sweaty? Yes, it's a bit like that.
- 0:14Speaker 1: You're going to hold that time if you like, I
- 0:17Speaker 1: can hold it.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Trusted.
- 0:22Speaker 3: What would you say something and you give it to me?
- 0:25Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Beautiful?
- 0:29Speaker 3: And how has the good things to treated you guys
- 0:31Speaker 3: so far?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah? Pretty good.
- 0:33Speaker 6: I mean, just to be out here doing this is
- 0:35Speaker 6: it's kind of a We never expected to be playing
- 0:38Speaker 6: in Australia on a festival in this heat.
- 0:41Speaker 3: So it's the other side of the world, you know this.
- 0:44Speaker 1: We used to sort of dream about America, Australia, Japan.
- 0:47Speaker 3: We thought, well that that definitely won't ever happen. Yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 3: and here we are. Yeah, it's amazing.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And is there any Aussie bend from this line up
- 0:55Speaker 1: that you're living with?
- 0:56Speaker 7: Civic Civic big time? Yeah, second time on we've heard
- 1:00Speaker 7: yeah from Civic. Really any other Ossie bands?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I know other bands, but I don't know.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I know other Rossie bands, but not on the line
- 1:11Speaker 1: on the Othersie bands on the lineup ship Yeah, I
- 1:20Speaker 1: saw them on the main stage.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I didn't know them though, but I saw them.
- 1:24Speaker 7: Now George saw them.
- 1:26Speaker 3: And then there's.
- 1:29Speaker 2: We've put you on the spot. Now we're allowed to
- 1:32Speaker 2: not know yours truly.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, God, you've got a track that I really
- 1:42Speaker 5: really did.
- 1:42Speaker 2: It's the one minute track.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Oh that's when we go.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Like, what was that just a jam session that it happened?
- 1:51Speaker 6: Did we got We got given some free studio type
- 1:55Speaker 6: and a renae studio and that's the best we can
- 1:57Speaker 6: come up with.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 1: We basically didn't have anything that was like a demo
- 2:03Speaker 1: sort of that was knocking around.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I was like, don't let's just do this.
- 2:07Speaker 6: And well, originally we were going to do like a
- 2:09Speaker 6: kind of more of a song song or like a
- 2:12Speaker 6: punk kind of seven inch idea was there. There's lots
- 2:14Speaker 6: of short songs. Yeah, they didn't really fit on the album.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that was it because we had we had
- 2:18Speaker 1: a couple of leftover We're not leftover, a couple of
- 2:21Speaker 1: like short tracks like that that were like in the
- 2:24Speaker 1: maybe list for the second album, but then the second
- 2:27Speaker 1: album they ended up sort of not making sense, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 1: because because of the nature of how short and fifty seconds.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it doesn't make sense anyway.
- 2:35Speaker 1: It's just like you know, when you got I love
- 2:36Speaker 1: some music like that, but when all the other songs
- 2:38Speaker 1: on the album are a bit more like, you know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: longer operatic.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Actually, I really like it.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's one of my favorite ones to play because it's like,
- 2:48Speaker 1: because it is just pure punk rock, I don't really
- 2:51Speaker 1: have to think too much about technical playing. Yeah, you
- 2:54Speaker 1: can just sort of do it, you know, to think
- 2:57Speaker 1: about it constantly a drama. Yeah, for the rest of
- 2:59Speaker 1: us could just vo.
- 3:01Speaker 4: I don't have to.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Worry about singing in tune really, because even if you
- 3:03Speaker 1: sing out of tune, it'll.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Sound exactly That's the rule of punk.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we're next Avenings just be all that
- 3:09Speaker 1: really take the preasure off.
- 3:15Speaker 2: So where where do you like to tour? Where's Where's
- 3:17Speaker 2: the Australia?
- 3:20Speaker 5: You have to say that, but like you've got places
- 3:23Speaker 5: your tour obviously you've been touring.
- 3:24Speaker 4: You know, existent.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Everywhere is different and everywhere it's cool.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Like the only place that we kind of struggle a
- 3:30Speaker 6: little bit is the UK just because the crowds are great.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But tours is where it's the most nice. Warning.
- 3:36Speaker 6: Yeah, it just feels like the English scene that they
- 3:38Speaker 6: don't really like the promotion and that they don't really care,
- 3:41Speaker 6: you know, over here, people like generally care about. Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 6: and there is kind of like a rotating door of
- 3:47Speaker 6: like coming if you if you haven't packed your stuff
- 3:49Speaker 6: down by eleven o'clock in their club life, it starts
- 3:50Speaker 6: and go to help you.
- 3:51Speaker 2: You know, is there a goal tour goals? Place to
- 3:55Speaker 2: tour that you haven't toured yet?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Like?
- 3:58Speaker 3: Well, what I say? Else?
- 4:00Speaker 6: Is it?
- 4:00Speaker 3: Because we got to Japan after.
- 4:01Speaker 4: This mother split up, we've reached.
- 4:06Speaker 1: The don't know, Saudi Arabia, the gi I don't know. Yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 1: like punk rocket, Yeah, that's another planet though. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 1: we're doing a good god idea for a gig.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Blast.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And what's the.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Most busy moment you've had on this.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Trip so long?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Oh, that's a pretty good question.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Can have we done a showy?
- 4:40Speaker 3: What's that showy? Is it sounds it's astral isn't it?
- 4:46Speaker 4: Take your shoe off? Phil the follow beer?
- 4:47Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 4:49Speaker 3: On stage?
- 4:50Speaker 4: That's an like all Aussie families do.
- 4:53Speaker 2: That's like it's a it's a bad thing. It's an
- 4:57Speaker 2: on stage.
- 4:58Speaker 4: You know, are we getting troll.
- 5:03Speaker 2: They've done it.
- 5:03Speaker 3: It's a real thing.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Both poems have done it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Someone in the crowds.
- 5:11Speaker 4: It is your own shoe and then that's straight.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And then well then you've got to put it back on,
- 5:16Speaker 3: and it's called a showy. That's very imagine.
- 5:19Speaker 4: It's not the worst part of that.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And then you never gets you've got to put
- 5:24Speaker 3: your shoe back.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 5: And when you know, if somebody used to say do
- 5:29Speaker 5: a showy and you go no, that's when the crowd
- 5:31Speaker 5: goes shoe.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Not it is we buckle the bitter pressure.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we do anything to look cool all tomorrow.
- 5:42Speaker 5: I'm not sure shoey makes you.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Look now, you're right to look cool and rock and
- 5:48Speaker 3: roll anyway, cringing. And anyone that's listen to you guys
- 5:55Speaker 3: knows that your songs are fused. What some of yours
- 5:59Speaker 3: has been the most to write.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I would say they're playing them live is the most.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know, Like there's a few on
- 6:07Speaker 1: the second album that were kind of hard to write,
- 6:10Speaker 1: some of the ones who were a bit like sort
- 6:12Speaker 1: of more out there, like Television. There's a song called
- 6:15Speaker 1: Television and.
- 6:18Speaker 6: Was the hardest ones to learn to play play, Yeah,
- 6:20Speaker 6: because that was the fastest one up to a point.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And that's really hard on the guitar as well, because
- 6:25Speaker 1: like the was rubbish, but yeah, i'd say, yeah, television antidote.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Because of the speed.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Yeah, playing them live, I think it's kind of it's
- 6:37Speaker 1: more of a challenge of playing the student in the studio.
- 6:38Speaker 3: You get to you get a second go.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Yeah as well, it's like you can't take like big
- 6:45Speaker 6: gaps in between because fast music.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Is that's not allowed. That's against you. Care man.
- 6:49Speaker 1: You take a big gap, it's you know, a bit
- 6:50Speaker 1: of a snow fast. We can't do it as quick
- 6:55Speaker 1: as Ramones did. They did, they were like instant. I
- 6:58Speaker 1: was just like, yeah, some of them are really quick.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Some of them are like, you know, I'm not really
- 7:03Speaker 1: look around the drummers having some sort of problem and
- 7:05Speaker 1: the meltdown or something.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You know, shut up, I'm going on with it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: You're you've played some side shows.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Yes, from what I've seen, they look really well great
- 7:20Speaker 5: and you've heard some run really cool support as well
- 7:23Speaker 5: on them was they're a standout support and show.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Well, we've been playing with Dead Poets Society, who are
- 7:28Speaker 1: an amazing band, co headline a co headline thing.
- 7:32Speaker 3: They're hard.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Go after them because they're very very good, really tight band,
- 7:36Speaker 6: really nice as well, really nice, which is annoying, really melodic.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You know, they're nice.
- 7:42Speaker 3: This is all pretend.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Yeah we're diabolical, but they're they're.
- 7:46Speaker 3: They're really great. Playing with them has been awesome because
- 7:48Speaker 3: there's such a good band. You know.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It's nice when you play with good bands that make
- 7:51Speaker 1: you sort of go, okay, we need to be good.
- 7:53Speaker 6: You know.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it was not like it's like friendly competition.
- 7:57Speaker 3: I suppose it's good for you.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I think it's a band to be in by another
- 8:00Speaker 1: man playing wise, but we've done when do we do
- 8:04Speaker 1: something in Sydney and uh Melbourne? Yeah, I played for
- 8:07Speaker 1: my great honestly, I think, yeah, I really liked Melbourne.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I did.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I enjoyed Sydney too, but Sydney was on the first one,
- 8:14Speaker 1: so he sort of shaking off a bit.
- 8:15Speaker 4: But yeah, just to be we've been jet for like
- 8:18Speaker 4: a four weeks.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Until about now.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's pretty weak, to be honest. Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 6: we had like a couple of days to get used
- 8:25Speaker 6: to it. Like some bands played straight away and we're
- 8:27Speaker 6: like poor.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yeah, we had a couple of days. We're still that.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Good, but it's it's it's just to be here, I think,
- 8:32Speaker 1: and having people know the songs is really in describe
- 8:36Speaker 1: and it's it's pretty crazy and yeah, it's just cooling it.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I'm a new thing.
- 8:41Speaker 5: I had a friend of mine, actually, go, you're doing
- 8:43Speaker 5: good things.
- 8:44Speaker 3: You're interviewing bands.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Check these guys out and I was sold straight away.
- 8:49Speaker 5: So really cool man, appreciate it proper punk rock and
- 8:53Speaker 5: I love that.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Thanks, thank you.
- 8:58Speaker 4: It's not my thing at all.
- 9:01Speaker 3: While correct, And so.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Are you guys happy or sad that today's last staple?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Sad?
- 9:13Speaker 2: Sad? Yeah, really happy?
- 9:17Speaker 6: We hate it please, Like it's weird because like festival
- 9:21Speaker 6: shows are like very different like normal shows.
- 9:23Speaker 2: You know, it's like a lot more kind of chaotic.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Then you don't get much chance when you're like swapping
- 9:28Speaker 6: stuff over them when things break, so it's like a
- 9:30Speaker 6: little bit.
- 9:30Speaker 3: More stressful and crazy.
- 9:31Speaker 4: So like, but otherwise it's it's amazing being.
- 9:34Speaker 1: A totally different type of show, isn't it a festival show?
- 9:36Speaker 1: I mean we're playing obviously like two pm as well,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you know, it's pretty early.
- 9:40Speaker 3: It's just in your broad daylight, totally different.
- 9:43Speaker 4: That's the weird thing.
- 9:44Speaker 6: When you're like jumping around there's no lights and you
- 9:46Speaker 6: just feel like a guy just jumping around in the.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Front room because the pageantry of it is already a
- 9:51Speaker 1: little bit like oh, and then when you take away
- 9:53Speaker 1: all the cool lights, it's like, look at these guys
- 9:56Speaker 1: in their clothes.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Just jumping around.
- 9:59Speaker 2: It's the they're cools a little bit lame. Was there
- 10:04Speaker 2: any issues with the heat that happened really not really No,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I think we've been all right.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Like we had, we kind of like tested the water.
- 10:13Speaker 6: We played in the summer, we played in a frenzy
- 10:15Speaker 6: in Italy. We did like our first Green Day and
- 10:18Speaker 6: we were on like two o'clock in the afternoon and
- 10:21Speaker 6: it was it was insane direct, felt like dangerous.
- 10:26Speaker 4: So everything since then it's kind of been like, oh,
- 10:28Speaker 4: you know, we can handle it.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think just not being in the direct sunlight.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Yeah. Love.
- 10:33Speaker 4: These have been under cover, so it's.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Like it's still like you definitely feel it.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Towards the end of the set, there was like, I
- 10:38Speaker 1: think the second to last song tonight or today Today, Sorry,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I was, I really had to kind of stand still,
- 10:45Speaker 1: you know, because it's like I think I've got a
- 10:46Speaker 1: bit too great in the same energy the last song,
- 10:48Speaker 1: you know, it does get to you a bit, but
- 10:51Speaker 1: but yeah, just being undercover is actually not too bad,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you know. So it's a shame that shorts just there
- 10:57Speaker 1: are no go for us because that would.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Probably you wear shorts on stage.
- 11:03Speaker 3: On the stage.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Yeah, then then you've got the green light to wear shorts.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 1: For us knobally British knees. It's not the one on
- 11:15Speaker 1: the moon.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, shorts.
- 11:19Speaker 3: He gets a pass.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Wait, rat way, isn't it this wrap Raw Raw Reynolds,
- 11:25Speaker 1: it's Row I think yeah. I remember for them from
- 11:27Speaker 1: two thousand and five, and he hated people saying rue Yes.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I think my second ever live gig was supporting Into
- 11:37Speaker 1: at the Harlow Square. I didn't Wind. I don't think
- 11:43Speaker 1: they ever signed to a major AB. I think they
- 11:45Speaker 1: always did them themselves some of those early Ship. That
- 11:50Speaker 1: was one of the craziest shows I ever support in
- 11:52Speaker 1: two thousand and five. Then the whole crowd had little
- 11:54Speaker 1: finger lights and then like the whole thing was up with that.
- 11:57Speaker 1: They sold at the Merchant and Business, true shrewd business,
- 12:02Speaker 1: and they played the show and it was fucking awesome too.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Honestly, I wasn't there.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Anyway. Yeah, a little bit of it was the British boy.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Isn't they gotta shout them out?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Yeah, left them.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Up a bit, yeah yeah, give them a little booster.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Finished.
- 12:28Speaker 3: One word to describe your time here at the Things
- 12:31Speaker 3: for me?
- 12:33Speaker 1: One word to describe our time here at Good Things Festival.
- 12:38Speaker 6: One word I like the thought.
- 12:41Speaker 1: That the word. Yeah, photosynthesis, outrageous, outrageous. Yeah that's tarentula.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Kangaroo, kangaroo somehow, that's brilliant. I'm still not a huge spider.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Oh ship right, Brady, and let me thank you, thank you,
- 13:04Speaker 1: We reappreciate you.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Got turn in the roto.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Well can see no more from.
- 13:24Speaker 6: Line A lord.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Ton no what so much Tory, you'll miss you, dang.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I want to feel that my soul, my toil, my time.
- 13:38Speaker 4: That's wind your mile tweet I never
- 13:43Speaker 5: Found mister roll miss
