- 0:23reflections while hidden, producing a vivid account
- 0:26of hope and resilience. That diary later became
- 0:30an international symbol of human dignity and
- 0:33an education about intolerance, inspiring readers
- 0:36and shaping how future generations remember those
- 0:39lost. So now you know. And now it's time for
- 0:46the weather report. This morning it's sunny and
- 0:52it feels like 65 degrees with six mile per hour

- 2:30Sunny mornings send you. In local news, the Boston
- 2:36Red Sox recently traded 23 -year -old shortstop
- 2:39Marcelo Mayer to the San Francisco Giants in
- 2:42exchange for left -handed reliever Eric Miller.
- 2:45and a mid -level outfield prospect, Carlos Gutierrez.
- 2:50Chief baseball officer Craig Breslow emphasized
- 2:53that Mayer was once viewed as a crucial part
- 2:55of the organization's core, stating, he was a
- 2:58really big part of this organization. Mayer,
- 3:02who struggled with injuries and performance,
- 3:04posted a batting average of just 220 this season
- 3:08before being placed on the injury list. Bresso
- 3:12highlighted the emergence of 20 -year -old prospect
- 3:15Franklin Areas as a factor in Mayer's trade,
- 3:18noting, we'll continue to put him in the best
- 3:20development environment. Now on to sports. Major
- 3:30League Baseball's 2026 trade deadline concluded
- 3:33at 6 p .m. Eastern time on Monday, resulting
- 3:36in numerous deals prior to the deadline. The
- 3:40most significant trade involved reigning two
- 3:42-time American League Cy Young winner Tarek Schubel
- 3:46joining the defending two -time World Series
- 3:48champion Dodgers. The Dodgers emerged as winners,
- 3:52adding a crucial pitcher to their rotation amid
- 3:55injuries. In contrast, the Brewers, while making
- 3:59sensible moves, missed a chance to enhance their
- 4:01postseason prospects. The Red Sox made headlines
- 4:05by acquiring Adley Rutchman, bolstering their
- 4:08lineup. The Yankees, however, failed to address
- 4:11key needs, leaving fans disappointed. The Cubs
- 4:15significantly improved their rotation, while
- 4:18the Orioles and Tigers faced criticism for trading
- 4:21star players despite being in the wild -card
- 4:24hunt. Both the Giants and Mets capitalized on
- 4:27the seller's market, acquiring numerous prospects,
- 4:30while Mike Trout remains with the Angels during
- 4:33their rebuilding phase. In local sports, the
- 4:37Red Sox are on fire. They swept the Dodgers over
- 4:41the weekend, first 5 -3 on Saturday behind Seydan
- 4:45Rafaelaz, two homers, then 8 -4 on Sunday, with
- 4:50four different power hitters connecting. Boston's
- 4:54won 5 straight and 8 of their last 10, sitting
- 4:57at 60 and 51. Tonight they host the Chicago White
- 5:02Sox at Fenway at 7 -10, with Patrick Sandoval
- 5:06on the mound opposite Davis Martin. This is a
- 5:09three -game homestand, and with the way the bats
- 5:12are swinging and the pitching staff clicking,
- 5:15the Sox should extend this streak to six straight.
- 5:18There's also major news from the Deadline. Boston
- 5:22acquired all -star catcher Adley Retchman from
- 5:25Baltimore in a significant haul that signals
- 5:28the front office's commitment to October. Retchman's
- 5:32dealing with wrist inflammation, so expect him
- 5:34on a rehab assignment this weekend or early next
- 5:37week. but he's a game -changer behind the plate
- 5:40for a lineup that's been among baseball's hottest.
- 5:44Meanwhile, the Bruins will start next season
- 5:46without Charlie McEvoy for the first six games.
- 5:50The All -Star defenseman declined to appeal his
- 5:53suspension for slashing in last spring's playoff
- 5:56loss to Buffalo. Boston's defensive core will
- 6:00lean on Hampus Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov, while
- 6:04McEvoy serves his time. In top news, Europe's
- 6:10hot, dry summer takes its toll with fires in
- 6:13France and Greece and drought in the United Kingdom.
- 6:17A record -breaking hot and dry summer tightened
- 6:19its grip on Europe as water -dropping planes
- 6:22swooped over wildfires in Greece and firefighters
- 6:25in France sought to stabilize blazes. The United
- 6:29Kingdom recorded its driest July in nearly two
- 6:33centuries, according to the Weather Service.
- 6:35In Greece, strong winds pushed flames into mountain
- 6:39homes, destroying farms and property. A massive
- 6:43wildfire in France burned about 420 square kilometers,
- 6:48marking the largest wildfire on record. The risk
- 6:51of wildfire remains high across parts of the
- 6:54continent. In business news, Kalshi traders believe
- 7:00the July jobs report will be slightly cooler
- 7:02than economists' predictions. The Bureau of Labor
- 7:06Statistics is set to release the employment figures
- 7:09for July on Friday, and economists expect a gain
- 7:12of 85 ,000 jobs, according to Dow Jones consensus
- 7:16estimates. However, traders on prediction market
- 7:20platform Kelshe think the actual figures may
- 7:23come in lower. Speculators assign a 47 % chance
- 7:28that employers added more than 80 ,000 jobs in
- 7:31July. They also give a 60 % chance that more
- 7:35than 70 ,000 jobs were added. Traders place a
- 7:3941 % chance that 90 ,000 jobs were added. With
- 7:44a 1 in 3 chance, the figure will reach 6 figures.
- 7:48Conversely, there is also a 1 in 3 chance the
- 7:51number will fall below 60 ,000. Last month, Talshi
- 7:55traders estimated a 63%. Chance that more than
- 7:59125 ,000 jobs were added in June, exceeding consensus
- 8:05estimates of 115 ,000. However, the official
- 8:10figure was much lower at just 57 ,000 jobs added.

- 9:26now, back to the show. Let's talk science. History
- 9:32regularly reappears along the Danube River near
- 9:35the Serbian town of Prohovo, but it has likely
- 9:38never been more visible than this summer. As
- 9:41brutal temperatures across much of Europe cause
- 9:44waters to recede to all -time lows, The wrecks
- 9:48of multiple World War II Nazi warships are the
- 9:51most exposed they have been in over 80 years.
- 9:55The exposure of an estimated 200 boats offers
- 9:58local authorities a chance to begin cleaning
- 10:01up a long -time problem. In 2024, Serbian national
- 10:05authorities began collaborating with the European
- 10:08Investment Bank to remove 21 selected shipwrecks
- 10:12along a 3 .1 -mile -long bottleneck. The project
- 10:16aims to facilitate the much -needed shift from
- 10:19road to waterway transport. And in entertainment
- 10:25news, Henry Cavill's involvement in Warhammer
- 10:2940 ,000 has addressed significant adaptation
- 10:32challenges. Most actors invest years in passion
- 10:36projects driven by love for the story or character.
- 10:40While some succeed, like Sylvester Stallone's
- 10:43rocky others, such as Mahershala Ali's attempts
- 10:46for a new blade, do not. The key to success is
- 10:50not just passion, but the right creative team
- 10:53and financial backing. Kvil confirmed two projects,
- 10:57one animated and one live action, with Mike Flanagan
- 11:01as writer and producer. Flanagan's horror expertise
- 11:05aligns perfectly with the dark themes of Warhammer
- 11:0940 ,000. promising an engaging adaptation. Well,
- 11:14alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the
