- 0:30Speaker 1: To take.
- 1:44Speaker 2: All right, you got the aired out podcast on a frigid, frigid,
- 1:52Speaker 2: frigid day.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Running a little late this morning, not what I expected
- 2:03Speaker 2: on the roads. Let's uh, let's check some current temperatures.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Let's see Miami, Florida. Right now, we're at seventy two.
- 2:12Speaker 2: We have eleven degrees in Saint John's Berry, I should
- 2:16Speaker 2: say back to Miami, seventy two in Sonny, eleven in
- 2:21Speaker 2: Saint Jay, and we're at a whopping eight degrees here
- 2:25Speaker 2: in Barry Fromont. Looks like for most of us, it's
- 2:28Speaker 2: like we're hovering right around like ten degrees, depending on
- 2:32Speaker 2: where you are. I think, what did I hear Middlebury
- 2:35Speaker 2: this morning? The warm spot at like eighteen or something
- 2:40Speaker 2: like that. Two big cutouts through the snowbanks right here
- 2:45Speaker 2: on North Main Street leading to Nelson's Hardware, which is
- 2:49Speaker 2: a good thing because they've got believe it or not,
- 2:53Speaker 2: I think last I heard they had they had sold
- 2:57Speaker 2: out roof rakes, but I think they're going to be
- 2:59Speaker 2: getting more. But the regular shovels, they've got them. They've
- 3:04Speaker 2: got the rock salt, they've got the tube sand, all
- 3:07Speaker 2: that good stuff, and some amazing sales going on to
- 3:10Speaker 2: red hot Byes always at Nelson A's Hardware. Today is
- 3:13Speaker 2: President's Day. Uh what does that mean? It means well,
- 3:18Speaker 2: some of the banks are closed and some of the
- 3:24Speaker 2: federal buildings are closed. But it also means that people
- 3:29Speaker 2: wait all year long for President's Day to buy a car.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Get yourself over to Montpelier Mazda, Montpelier Volkswagen. They're right there.
- 3:37Speaker 2: They're in the same building on Route two, just past
- 3:39Speaker 2: the roundabout. And trust me when I say they're going
- 3:43Speaker 2: to take very good care of you. Today, President's Day Day,
- 3:48Speaker 2: number seventeen. We had the snowstorm over the weekend. We
- 3:52Speaker 2: had Valentine's Day on Friday. It was generally a pretty
- 3:57Speaker 2: good weekend for me. I hope it was for you too.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Was involved in a sledding birthday party with Lily and
- 4:03Speaker 2: one of her friends. Did a lot of playing in
- 4:06Speaker 2: the snow, had a lot of fun. Didn't get I
- 4:12Speaker 2: would say, badly hurt at all from sledding. I have
- 4:16Speaker 2: no business sledding anymore. Little stiff, little sore. But didn't
- 4:23Speaker 2: suffer any major injuries from sledding, which is a good thing. Man.
- 4:28Speaker 2: We have a lot to get to thanks so much
- 4:31Speaker 2: for tuning in Birthdays today Karen Gilman, Rebecca Ranga, and
- 4:35Speaker 2: Cardinal Anne Hawksby, Julie Ann Bellevue, Jalen Ray, Sandy Rivers,
- 4:43Speaker 2: Dean Utton, John Morrison, Sue Gilmet, and Catherine Maxwell all
- 4:49Speaker 2: on the birthday list today in this President's Day, Yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 2: National Blood Donor Month today, forty three thousand pints of
- 5:01Speaker 2: donated blood are used each day in the United States
- 5:05Speaker 2: and Canada forty three thousand, So keep that in mind
- 5:09Speaker 2: this month. What do we have a couple weeks left?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Facebook question of the day is And I know this
- 5:18Speaker 2: one is probably going to stir up a little bit,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but I'm just interested to hear what you have to
- 5:24Speaker 2: say because I've had these conversations lately. If sufficient donations
- 5:29Speaker 2: aren't successfully raised in Burry to secure the purchase of
- 5:32Speaker 2: the JJ Newberry Building, would you wish for an eminent
- 5:38Speaker 2: domain even though is just not going to happen. I
- 5:43Speaker 2: think many of us know that it's just not going
- 5:47Speaker 2: to happen, but I would love to hear what you
- 5:52Speaker 2: have to say about that. If winter storm warning, I
- 5:59Speaker 2: think it ended at one am, but we have the
- 6:05Speaker 2: wind advisory until ten pm tonight and it is not
- 6:09Speaker 2: going to be a delightful ball me day like it
- 6:13Speaker 2: is down in Fort Pierce in Miami and whatnot points south.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's going to be pretty wicked today. And I know
- 6:23Speaker 2: many of you are like, I've had it. I've had it.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I've had enough of the winter. But yeah, the blowing
- 6:30Speaker 2: and drifting snow, winds ripping up around fifty miles per
- 6:34Speaker 2: hour in some towns today, the visibility is going to
- 6:38Speaker 2: be garbage. I know the crews are out working so
- 6:41Speaker 2: hard trying to keep the roads in the best shape
- 6:43Speaker 2: that they possibly can, but it was not a fun
- 6:46Speaker 2: drive in this morning. Another one to three inches is
- 6:50Speaker 2: what they're saying for most of us here in central Vermont.
- 6:54Speaker 2: It depends if you're in the hills or not. I
- 6:56Speaker 2: think the big spread is like two to six depending
- 7:00Speaker 2: on where you are, but for most of us, one
- 7:03Speaker 2: to three. Somewhere in that ballpark all right, cloudy today,
- 7:08Speaker 2: sixteen degrees wins again over forty miles per hour, approaching
- 7:13Speaker 2: fifty today. Be careful on any road that you're driving on,
- 7:18Speaker 2: especially the big roads. It's not gonna be good tonight.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Two degrees winds still gusting over forty miles per hour.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Am I making this up? Miami?
- 7:30Speaker 1: No, I'm not.
- 7:31Speaker 2: That's crazy. Stay inside, Throw an extra log in the
- 7:37Speaker 2: fire if you can. Tonight it's not gonna be yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 2: you know, going to be out snowshoeing tonight. Tuesday, Tomorrow cloudy,
- 7:47Speaker 2: cold and twelve Wednesday eighteen with a mix of sun
- 7:51Speaker 2: and clouds. We're gonna warm up just a little bit
- 7:54Speaker 2: Thursday twenty one and cloudy twenty two, clouds and sun
- 7:59Speaker 2: on Friday, and pretty much the same story for the weekend.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Looking all the way.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I had.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Right next to me is Logan Leos, who has stepped
- 8:08Speaker 2: in this morning. Dude. I'm so glad to see you, dude.
- 8:11Speaker 2: But how are you? How are you? May?
- 8:13Speaker 3: I am wonderful, It's it's great to see you, dude.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you know you have. You have taught me so
- 8:20Speaker 2: much about sports, and I think you you know, and
- 8:26Speaker 2: many many listeners do that I am the furthest thing
- 8:30Speaker 2: from a sports a fish shinado.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Actually, well, well I'm asking what who? What team is that?
- 8:35Speaker 3: Because I don't recognize this is.
- 8:36Speaker 2: The Tops and corinth UH softball team. Yes, this for
- 8:43Speaker 2: for for my daughter.
- 8:45Speaker 4: So yeah, I was just caurious because it looks like
- 8:48Speaker 4: some kind of sports hat, and I'm like, I'm like,
- 8:51Speaker 4: are you gonna try to tell me like that you
- 8:53Speaker 4: know some team?
- 8:54Speaker 3: But then you're like, it's for obviously your daughter, So
- 8:56Speaker 3: that's that's different.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Well I've been I've been wearing a Celtics hat.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I yeah, I remember I was.
- 9:02Speaker 4: When I was last on the phone with you, last
- 9:05Speaker 4: time I was on the air, you had the c
- 9:08Speaker 4: you had the Celtics at and what was his name?
- 9:10Speaker 4: He was a nice gentleman that was with you that day.
- 9:13Speaker 4: He and I were like flaming you you're having it
- 9:16Speaker 4: might have been Paul.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I think it might have made a ball.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 9:20Speaker 4: I apologize either way, but yeah, no, either way, I
- 9:22Speaker 4: just remember that we were like totally like just joshing
- 9:25Speaker 4: on you about it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Listen.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Man.
- 9:27Speaker 2: But here's the thing about me, though, is I love
- 9:30Speaker 2: to I love to learn, and man, it's like when
- 9:34Speaker 2: I went two years ago and I went to to
- 9:38Speaker 2: catch a Mountaineers ball game in Montpellier. Once once I
- 9:43Speaker 2: was not distracted by what was you know, what Lily
- 9:47Speaker 2: was doing and all stuff, and it can actually pay
- 9:49Speaker 2: attention and follow the game. Fascinating. Now, I just I
- 9:53Speaker 2: love the game now, you know, and basketball is the
- 9:56Speaker 2: same thing.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Man, No, so, yes, softball is like a nice with
- 10:00Speaker 3: like baseball. It's a nice sport. Yes, it's a it's
- 10:02Speaker 3: definitely a slower sport.
- 10:03Speaker 4: However, though it's one of those sports where like unlike hockey, well,
- 10:07Speaker 4: I would say kind.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Of like hockey.
- 10:09Speaker 4: It's like well like with like for example, like my
- 10:11Speaker 4: opinion with basketball and football, it's a lot more fast
- 10:14Speaker 4: paced because it's constant. Well, baseball is kind of a
- 10:17Speaker 4: game where it's relied obviously, like the fun comes in
- 10:20Speaker 4: when the ball's actually hit and everybody's trying to catch
- 10:23Speaker 4: the ball and you got the players running the basis
- 10:26Speaker 4: when all when like you have those games where like
- 10:29Speaker 4: it's like either like it's a high scoring or it's
- 10:33Speaker 4: a blowout, oh in like in some of the hockey
- 10:37Speaker 4: though hockey same way.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Hockey could be like a high scoring or could be
- 10:40Speaker 3: like two to one.
- 10:42Speaker 4: You know, it could be a very it could be
- 10:43Speaker 4: a very like because soccer, well, yeah, it's like it's
- 10:46Speaker 4: a fun sport, but yeah, soccer slow too, because soccer
- 10:50Speaker 4: there's a lot of just like you see the ball
- 10:52Speaker 4: either going out of bounce or bouncing off the actual
- 10:55Speaker 4: goal more often than you see actually getting golf.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, Hey, quick note here, the Harwood Montpellier
- 11:02Speaker 2: girls game tonight has been canceled.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Yeah. I kind of figure they well they they've canceled
- 11:08Speaker 4: most of the schools schools too.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I mean a lot of schools that were running on
- 11:13Speaker 2: delay to our delays this morning have decided to close
- 11:18Speaker 2: their doors. So and and that's one of them or
- 11:22Speaker 2: two of them right there. So check that. And we've
- 11:25Speaker 2: got the link that's posted right up at the top
- 11:28Speaker 2: of the page, so please do do check Cherylyn put
- 11:31Speaker 2: that up last night, so if you want the very
- 11:35Speaker 2: latest information of what schools have decided to close today,
- 11:39Speaker 2: I think I think Lily's School is like the only
- 11:42Speaker 2: school open in this state of Vermont this morning. But anyway,
- 11:47Speaker 2: the Vermont Coyotes and Revolution Basketball hosted an all day
- 11:53Speaker 2: tournament on Saturday at People's Academy. Wow.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Yeah, so I personally I wish I had gone, but
- 12:00Speaker 4: obviously the weather and I was also like busy this weekend,
- 12:03Speaker 4: but I wanted to go because I have to get
- 12:06Speaker 4: I have to get out to you about like their schedule,
- 12:09Speaker 4: because like I do pay attention to their Facebook, but
- 12:12Speaker 4: they kind of like I don't know, they post randomly,
- 12:14Speaker 4: like they'll post like one day and then I won't
- 12:16Speaker 4: see something till almost two weeks later, or like at
- 12:19Speaker 4: least that's what I see.
- 12:20Speaker 3: But they're pretty they're pretty consistent. But ye know, it
- 12:22Speaker 3: was it.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Uh Matt Spears was his name. The gentleman that won
- 12:26Speaker 4: the tournament. Very impressive. I didn't see what position he played.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Do you know what positioning?
- 12:31Speaker 4: I don't, cause that's gonna be important because I'm like,
- 12:33Speaker 4: I didn't really see what position he played, but he
- 12:36Speaker 4: seemed like he's kind of like a taller guy.
- 12:37Speaker 3: He might be like a shooting guard or something like that.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I was hoping to get there too. It just didn't happen.
- 12:42Speaker 2: With with everything going on. It was supposed to weather.
- 12:45Speaker 4: The weather. It's just like it's like we because like
- 12:48Speaker 4: at the start of the winter it was bad. Then
- 12:51Speaker 4: we had like two or three weeks of the just
- 12:53Speaker 4: kind of like sun now. This last week two weeks
- 12:56Speaker 4: has just been nothing but slush and snow. So it's
- 12:59Speaker 4: like trying to get places has been not easy.
- 13:01Speaker 2: We were god, I mean, we were trying to run
- 13:05Speaker 2: down to the Harris Hill ski jump competition down in Brattleborough.
- 13:10Speaker 2: We you know, it's every weekend. It's like you're supposed
- 13:14Speaker 2: to be six different places at the same time. But
- 13:18Speaker 2: you know, and it was supposed to be Sunday at
- 13:20Speaker 2: Windsor High School and they bumped it to Saturday over
- 13:24Speaker 2: at People's Academy.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw that they was it Friday or Thursday.
- 13:29Speaker 4: They had announced that they were changing the time due
- 13:34Speaker 4: to the weather, which made sense.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but that round of thirty two tourney was a
- 13:38Speaker 2: huge success. The roster continues to grow. It's exciting.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Man.
- 13:45Speaker 4: I find it shocking though, how Like, I don't know
- 13:47Speaker 4: exactly how many gentlemen were at that game or how
- 13:50Speaker 4: many like you know, play you know, pulled up for
- 13:52Speaker 4: that game or that tournament. However, though, for them to
- 13:55Speaker 4: strictly pick one, guy tells me that, like, this kid's
- 14:00Speaker 4: got to be good because when you say, you know,
- 14:03Speaker 4: say there was like sixty kids, right at sixty kids,
- 14:06Speaker 4: you pick one, not two.
- 14:08Speaker 2: You pick one.
- 14:10Speaker 4: So that's definitely like it's either like how would you
- 14:14Speaker 4: say it, Like his talent had to be like you know,
- 14:18Speaker 4: his talent's got to be up there, or his like
- 14:20Speaker 4: whatever he did, you know, He clearly impressed the coaches
- 14:23Speaker 4: enough to where he, out of sixty people, yeah, was
- 14:27Speaker 4: the only one that successfully won and got an opportunity
- 14:31Speaker 4: to like now go on to play for the future
- 14:34Speaker 4: of Vermont's you know, I would say Vermont's future because.
- 14:39Speaker 2: These are paid players. Yeah, I mean no, you know,
- 14:42Speaker 2: this is this is a professional basketball It's not semi
- 14:46Speaker 2: pro professional.
- 14:47Speaker 4: It's professional. But it's also something Vermont hasn't had in
- 14:50Speaker 4: so long. And you know, we have UVM and you know,
- 14:54Speaker 4: we have colleges, but we do not have a professional sport.
- 14:59Speaker 4: And we now officially have like a professional sports. So
- 15:04Speaker 4: not only is this going to be a big deal
- 15:06Speaker 4: for this kid, sure, but this is a big deal
- 15:08Speaker 4: for the whole state because we are now finally because
- 15:12Speaker 4: like you know, it's like we're not planning to see
- 15:17Speaker 4: you know, I'm assuming this as of right now that
- 15:21Speaker 4: the team is still aiming for like late summer, right
- 15:25Speaker 4: for them to start, like I think, give.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Your take, I think training camp is in the fall.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Oh wow, Yeah, they're so they're gonna oh wow, so
- 15:32Speaker 4: they're gonna do it sooner than later.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's impressive. Yeah, it's going to be like I
- 15:37Speaker 2: think September October is training camp.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Wow, you know it's gonna be And then I'm very
- 15:42Speaker 4: excited because I'm excited to see what Like I'm excited
- 15:46Speaker 4: for when we like get the official roster of like all,
- 15:49Speaker 4: I don't know how many players, like sixteen give or
- 15:52Speaker 4: take fifteen or sixteen either way. Either way though, it's
- 15:56Speaker 4: going to be very impressive to see like these young
- 15:59Speaker 4: you know, these young guys or even maybe even older guys.
- 16:02Speaker 4: But either way, just seeing this, you know, professionalism coming
- 16:06Speaker 4: to light for the state.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Of Vermont is gonna be a big, a big deal.
- 16:11Speaker 3: So I'm very excited.
- 16:13Speaker 2: VT coyotes dot com. Check out their their all of
- 16:17Speaker 2: their social media.
- 16:18Speaker 4: But uh, I see the final page and I see
- 16:22Speaker 4: they finally gave you a hoodie. I've got the hoodie
- 16:24Speaker 4: right now, I know, I see it.
- 16:26Speaker 3: You got to show it off.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I was gonna I was gonna say, I'm like
- 16:30Speaker 4: they I remember I saw I think it was like,
- 16:33Speaker 4: was it a week ago or maybe two weeks ago
- 16:34Speaker 4: you had you had mentioned you were like you're trying
- 16:36Speaker 4: to get a hoodie.
- 16:37Speaker 3: So I was like, well, you finally got it, and they're.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Gonna be Uh, They're gonna be for sale to just
- 16:43Speaker 2: get on VT coyotes dot com and you can you
- 16:46Speaker 2: can see everything that's that's going on. Hats and how
- 16:48Speaker 2: do you get everything? Yeah, everything they got beanies. I
- 16:51Speaker 2: don't know, you know what I would do, I would assume.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I would assume.
- 16:56Speaker 3: So I'm like, Cathrine nice, but I'm a beanie.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Guys, I'm excited as hell, man, And you know, I
- 17:00Speaker 2: can't wait to get the some of the players in here.
- 17:03Speaker 2: We've had, we've had the coaching staff in here.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Yeah, you've had a Jesse and all those guys.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but it's like, god it you know, time's
- 17:12Speaker 2: gonna be going by fast here.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's gonna be really cool. I'm I'm I'm personally excited. Yeah,
- 17:18Speaker 4: Like this is gonna be a big deal for them.
- 17:20Speaker 2: All Star Games.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Well, shack o G I'm gonna yeah, shack o G.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Oh.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I I'm sorry.
- 17:27Speaker 4: But like when I saw the shack team compared to
- 17:30Speaker 4: the other teams, I'm like, is there a question who's
- 17:33Speaker 4: gonna win this?
- 17:33Speaker 3: This doesn't seem fair.
- 17:34Speaker 4: You've got You've got what Jason Tatum, Kevin Durant, James Harden,
- 17:40Speaker 4: was Kyrie Like, oh, my god, you had like you
- 17:42Speaker 4: literally had like the guys, and it's like and then
- 17:46Speaker 4: it's like, you know, the who was it?
- 17:48Speaker 3: Was it not Kenny? Was it Chuck's team?
- 17:51Speaker 4: Was the like Year or was it the Global Stars
- 17:53Speaker 4: or whatever? They did really good and they were very impressive.
- 17:55Speaker 2: But I'm like Shuck's Global Stars.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I say Chuck.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Global Stars, but I was gonna say, you're not gonna
- 18:00Speaker 4: beat you know, because because if you think about it,
- 18:03Speaker 4: Shaq's team was essentially like the US team in the Olympics,
- 18:07Speaker 4: and it's like it's like, if you're not gonna you're
- 18:09Speaker 4: just not gonna beat them. And but it's too bad
- 18:11Speaker 4: they didn't have Lebron because this is actually Lebron's first
- 18:14Speaker 4: time not being in an All Star Game in a
- 18:18Speaker 4: very very long time, which is shocking, very sad.
- 18:22Speaker 2: So Chuck's Global Stars forty one thirty two went over
- 18:26Speaker 2: Kenny's Young Stars, and then Shaq's OG's got by he
- 18:32Speaker 2: got by Chuck's Global Stars forty one twenty five, and
- 18:36Speaker 2: then and then came back in a forty two to
- 18:40Speaker 2: thirty five went over Kannas's Rising Stars.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh that's cool.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Those are the those are the finals. Yesterday. Wednesday, we
- 18:47Speaker 2: get the Hornets and the Lakers. You excited about that?
- 18:50Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well well yeah, oh it's super excited.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Well, since the since we last spoke, we actually had
- 18:56Speaker 4: mentioned the Luca and Ad trade, have you been at
- 18:59Speaker 4: least a little bit keeping up with it?
- 19:00Speaker 3: So eighty eighties already injured?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 19:04Speaker 1: No?
- 19:04Speaker 3: He had his debut game. He dropped a historical like game.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, I didn't I didn't think so.
- 19:13Speaker 4: But yeah, So, long story short, Ad the guy that
- 19:16Speaker 4: they la we sent to the Mavericks. So he uh
- 19:21Speaker 4: already injured. He's gonna be out for a month. He
- 19:24Speaker 4: already got a like a lower I think it was
- 19:26Speaker 4: a groin or a lower leg injury.
- 19:29Speaker 3: After his debut game.
- 19:30Speaker 4: He comes back off an injury, plays one game and
- 19:34Speaker 4: is now out for another month.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Dude, Maverick fans are livid.
- 19:38Speaker 2: How long was he.
- 19:40Speaker 4: So when before we traded him, he was out for
- 19:43Speaker 4: about two weeks. So he's out for two weeks, comes back,
- 19:47Speaker 4: plays one game, gets injured, and is now gonna be
- 19:50Speaker 4: out for a whole month. That's what they're talking about.
- 19:52Speaker 4: It's gonna take a month, give or take. They said
- 19:54Speaker 4: maybe a couple of weeks, but realistically, like they're like
- 19:57Speaker 4: it's gonna be probably not till like mid March that
- 19:59Speaker 4: we c ad again. Luca came back. He's doing good.
- 20:04Speaker 4: He so, Luca was injured as of Christmas Day. He
- 20:07Speaker 4: played Christmas Day, got a I can't remember was it
- 20:09Speaker 4: his arm or something injury. He was out for a
- 20:13Speaker 4: little bit. He's played two games since his return. He
- 20:16Speaker 4: did really great. I would say his it's obvious his
- 20:20Speaker 4: injury injury is still kind of there, and he's obviously
- 20:22Speaker 4: like having to work out the kinksk you know, he's
- 20:24Speaker 4: a little rusty getting back in the game. So his
- 20:26Speaker 4: field goal for the for the two games was not
- 20:29Speaker 4: like the best, Like he didn't score a lot of points. However,
- 20:32Speaker 4: though in his first game against the Jazz, his his
- 20:35Speaker 4: playmaking was like there.
- 20:38Speaker 3: That's because, like.
- 20:39Speaker 4: One of the commentators was saying, which I agree, is like,
- 20:41Speaker 4: you know, when you come off an injury, it's like,
- 20:44Speaker 4: you know you're shooting, you know all that your footwork,
- 20:47Speaker 4: you know, is a little rusty.
- 20:48Speaker 3: However, though playmaking and defense, yeah, you never lose that.
- 20:52Speaker 4: And so and Luca, you know, he came to play
- 20:55Speaker 4: now he didn't score a lot of points, but lucky
- 20:57Speaker 4: for him, the rest of the team picked up and
- 21:00Speaker 4: his playmaking, you know, Dill a lot for our team.
- 21:03Speaker 4: And so I think as he gets back into the
- 21:06Speaker 4: groove of getting over that injury, I think the Lakers
- 21:10Speaker 4: are gonna do better. I mean, we were on a
- 21:12Speaker 4: we were on a was a five game win streak,
- 21:15Speaker 4: and then we finally lost. So I'm just hoping though,
- 21:18Speaker 4: that we continue that win streak versus you know, losing streak.
- 21:22Speaker 4: But the Lakers are looking really good. And it's funny because,
- 21:24Speaker 4: you know, at first, I was like, Okay, we need
- 21:27Speaker 4: a new center. However, though, honestly, like the two young
- 21:32Speaker 4: guys we got playing in the center position, I think
- 21:35Speaker 4: Jackson Hayes and I want to keep reading his first name,
- 21:39Speaker 4: but his name his last name's like Vanderbilt. But either way, uh,
- 21:42Speaker 4: the both of them are performing fantastic, and so, honestly,
- 21:45Speaker 4: I mean, like the Lakers, we got some we got
- 21:48Speaker 4: some center name. I think it was Alex lenn He
- 21:51Speaker 4: didn't play that he doesn't, you know, I don't know.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I'd like to see him play more.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I'm not really sold on him yet, but we kind
- 21:59Speaker 4: of cleared out, you know, because we had a we
- 22:01Speaker 4: had I think it was Christian Woods. He was injured
- 22:04Speaker 4: for like almost two years, and so we finally like
- 22:07Speaker 4: we pretty much sent him to free agency and then
- 22:10Speaker 4: picked up this Alex len kids. So hoping, you know,
- 22:13Speaker 4: Alex you know, does okay, because we don't need him
- 22:17Speaker 4: to do a whole lot honestly, because he's kind of
- 22:18Speaker 4: like he's kind of just an extra man in my opinion.
- 22:22Speaker 3: So we'll see how that goes.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Who do you watch hoop with?
- 22:25Speaker 1: Uh?
- 22:25Speaker 4: I usually watch hoop by myself. I usually like or
- 22:29Speaker 4: maybe sometimes my partner will watch it with me. Yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 4: but we just for the most part, it's it's me.
- 22:35Speaker 4: I like to watch basketball. I watch you know, I
- 22:39Speaker 4: have esp ESPN right now, so I kind of have
- 22:42Speaker 4: a limited of what I can actually legitimately watch because
- 22:45Speaker 4: I don't have cable.
- 22:46Speaker 3: But either way, though, I like to if.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I can't physically watch the games, I will keep tabs on,
- 22:52Speaker 4: you know, the actual players, scores, who's you know, who's
- 22:56Speaker 4: hitting what, who's you know, And then I'll watch highlights
- 22:58Speaker 4: as well, because the highlights will show me, like you know,
- 23:00Speaker 4: it'll do like a less than a ten minute video
- 23:03Speaker 4: of like the best plays, and so I'll usually watch
- 23:06Speaker 4: that afterwards, and I'll usually base my opinion on things
- 23:09Speaker 4: from usually that social media.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Damn fella, I mean that's you're you're die hard on this.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm a die hard on any Well.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I won't lie. I don't watch a lot of like
- 23:20Speaker 4: I however I would. I don't watch a lot of
- 23:23Speaker 4: I don't really watch baseball at all. I want to
- 23:25Speaker 4: get more back into baseball, but baseball is one of
- 23:29Speaker 4: those sports where like, I like it, but I can't,
- 23:32Speaker 4: Like I could go, I could go see a baseball
- 23:34Speaker 4: game and enjoy it, but I can't sit on my
- 23:37Speaker 4: couch and watch it because it's a little too slow
- 23:40Speaker 4: for my liking. And so, yeah, I want to get
- 23:43Speaker 4: back into it, just so it's just so that I
- 23:44Speaker 4: could say, I like understand what's going on. But when
- 23:48Speaker 4: it comes down to it, it's like basketball, football, and
- 23:53Speaker 4: hockey are like my three domains. Hockey is kind of like, yeah,
- 23:57Speaker 4: I see it once in a while, but the first two,
- 24:00Speaker 4: Basketball and football are definitely like my two favorites.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Huh. We got the four nations face off going on
- 24:06Speaker 2: right now? Have you did you see do you see
- 24:10Speaker 2: the free fights broke out in the first nine seconds
- 24:17Speaker 2: of that US.
- 24:20Speaker 3: That was hilarious.
- 24:22Speaker 4: But not only was the fighting the best part. I
- 24:24Speaker 4: think the best part was the fact that we whooped
- 24:28Speaker 4: them in their own sport. Yeah, this is a game,
- 24:33Speaker 4: This is a game that they that they are known for. Yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 4: and they got whooped three to one. I mean well
- 24:42Speaker 4: once they whooped, it was it was either way, like
- 24:45Speaker 4: all around. I watched like the highlights for that game.
- 24:47Speaker 3: All around.
- 24:48Speaker 4: That game was fantastic, like and both teams played hard,
- 24:52Speaker 4: but obviously US one in the end. But yeah, no,
- 24:56Speaker 4: oh no, the the like the build up to that
- 24:59Speaker 4: game was crazy because everybody was just like, this is
- 25:03Speaker 4: going to be a war because well, when it comes
- 25:06Speaker 4: down to like national sports, Canada and America do not
- 25:10Speaker 4: like each other when it comes down to sports.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Well, i mean Canada was booing during the US. Yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 3: That's that's that was.
- 25:17Speaker 2: That was That was some That was some cheap little
- 25:21Speaker 2: h literally pissed when they stepped on the ice they
- 25:25Speaker 2: I'm not surprised fists were flying so so quickly.
- 25:29Speaker 4: God, there was a there was a lot of like
- 25:32Speaker 4: funny like comments people made on videos about that stuff.
- 25:35Speaker 4: So I'm just like, I'm thinking about those.
- 25:37Speaker 2: So this is Canada, Finland, Sweden in the United States
- 25:42Speaker 2: that kind of a round robin tournament.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Honestly, I wish there was a couple more states though
- 25:49Speaker 4: are countries. I felt like there was only what was
- 25:51Speaker 4: there was only six of them. It didn't seem like
- 25:52Speaker 4: there was many.
- 25:54Speaker 2: That's it Canada, Finland, Sweden in the US.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Oh yeah, like five or six.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Well yeah, I mean that makes sense though, because like
- 26:02Speaker 4: I think, because I'm like, no, not uh not rush
- 26:08Speaker 4: or anything like that.
- 26:08Speaker 3: No, they don't even have a hockey.
- 26:10Speaker 2: No, no, where was that game Saturday night? Montreal, Montreal?
- 26:13Speaker 3: It was right, Yeah, that's what Well, that's what made
- 26:15Speaker 3: it funny.
- 26:16Speaker 4: Not only did not only did we play in Montreal,
- 26:19Speaker 4: but like you said, it's like the whole crowd was
- 26:21Speaker 4: borderline booing the American national anthem, And you know, I
- 26:27Speaker 4: get it, because like that's how it is if you
- 26:29Speaker 4: go to another country and play and they're, you know,
- 26:31Speaker 4: playing their home turf, they're not gonna like your what
- 26:34Speaker 4: you stand for. However, though, I feel like them booing
- 26:38Speaker 4: the national anthem was just more of a motivation for
- 26:40Speaker 4: us to crush them.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Three to one. Yeah, oh yeah, congrats to the US.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, US clinching a spot in the championship, which will
- 26:48Speaker 2: be I think Thursday, yep, and we can't roll Canada out.
- 26:54Speaker 2: They could be in that championship. We could be playing
- 26:58Speaker 2: Canada Thursday. Oh it's possible.
- 27:01Speaker 3: It's very exactly, it's very possible.
- 27:03Speaker 4: But I mean at the end of the day, though,
- 27:05Speaker 4: I think like, if we do play them again, it
- 27:08Speaker 4: will probably be on our turf this time, and so
- 27:11Speaker 4: now the question would become like will it be the
- 27:13Speaker 4: same outcome or would it you know, now that we're
- 27:16Speaker 4: playing maybe they'll somehow do what we did, which is
- 27:18Speaker 4: go in their home turf and win.
- 27:20Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know.
- 27:21Speaker 3: I don't I don't think so.
- 27:22Speaker 4: I mean, if if they if they want to beat us,
- 27:25Speaker 4: they definitely got changed to their game plan for the
- 27:27Speaker 4: last time because clearly that didn't work for them.
- 27:29Speaker 2: So my god, I'm seeing in in uh and we're
- 27:34Speaker 2: gonna talk at NCAA here and it in just a
- 27:36Speaker 2: little bit March badness. But Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker
- 27:40Speaker 2: accused by seven Yeah that or women?
- 27:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 27:45Speaker 4: That was so I okay, So wow, I didn't hear
- 27:48Speaker 4: about any of this till as of like I want
- 27:50Speaker 4: to say, two weeks ago. I think that's well, I
- 27:52Speaker 4: think that's roughly when it came out. It was about
- 27:54Speaker 4: two weeks ago. Yeah, so that's a huge. That's huge
- 27:57Speaker 4: because if anybody who watches sports know Justin Tucker is
- 28:02Speaker 4: like probably one of, if not the best kicker of
- 28:06Speaker 4: all time, He's definitely up there. He is an amazing player,
- 28:10Speaker 4: and so for this to come out is insane. It's
- 28:13Speaker 4: kind of reminds me of not only what was it?
- 28:16Speaker 4: There have been obviously football players have obviously had like
- 28:18Speaker 4: their their things, but like what was it the Steelers
- 28:22Speaker 4: Big Ben his whole kind of reminds me of that
- 28:24Speaker 4: whole situation because same thing he had a whole huge
- 28:28Speaker 4: case with, like you know, accused sexual assault. Same with
- 28:33Speaker 4: was it Deshaun Watson just had one like a year ago,
- 28:37Speaker 4: maybe two years ago.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but seven more for for Tucker and now that
- 28:43Speaker 2: brings the total up to six.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Team that's not good.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I mean, if you have sixteen women accusing you know,
- 28:49Speaker 4: it's different if you have like maybe two or three,
- 28:52Speaker 4: but like you know, almost twenty women accusing you of
- 28:57Speaker 4: like sexual assault of any form is really bad and
- 29:00Speaker 4: it's gonna get you in a lot of trouble.
- 29:04Speaker 3: And I would say, you know, I don't know. It
- 29:08Speaker 3: looks very bad on his part right now.
- 29:10Speaker 4: I mean because you know, I mean, yeah, no, and
- 29:14Speaker 4: especially looks it looks really bad for the Ravens because
- 29:17Speaker 4: now they've got to because there's more likely and not chance,
- 29:20Speaker 4: that he's gonna either a retire or B they're gonna
- 29:24Speaker 4: just force him out of the league, or maybe he'll
- 29:28Speaker 4: somehow do what you know, Deshaun Watson did come back,
- 29:32Speaker 4: you know, yeah, but either way, it's just like no,
- 29:36Speaker 4: it's it's really a bad look on him.
- 29:40Speaker 2: William Byron avoids some late rex to win the second
- 29:44Speaker 2: straight Daytona five hundred for Hendrick Motorsports. Did you see
- 29:48Speaker 2: any of that yesterday?
- 29:49Speaker 3: Uh No, I don't really.
- 29:51Speaker 4: I mean I've heard, I heard of it, but I
- 29:53Speaker 4: don't pay attention to motorsports as much as I used to.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I was, you know, I always wanted to to watch it,
- 30:01Speaker 2: but Lily wanted to play out in the yard, in
- 30:04Speaker 2: the in the in the snow. So that'll always always win.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Let's see Steph Curry yep named NBA All Star Game MVP.
- 30:21Speaker 3: That it's not a shock, to be honest.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Mac McClung yep three p three years in a row
- 30:27Speaker 2: for the dunk contest.
- 30:28Speaker 4: So the beauty of the dunk contest is most of
- 30:31Speaker 4: the like. So it's funny because so Matt klunk. Actually,
- 30:35Speaker 4: because he won that, he made more money off the
- 30:40Speaker 4: dunk Contest than his current NBA contract, not even joking.
- 30:46Speaker 4: That's not a joke either. They so they gave him
- 30:48Speaker 4: I think it was like well over two hundred thousand
- 30:51Speaker 4: dollars for winning the dunk contest his contract his current
- 30:56Speaker 4: Like I think it's a rookie contract he's still on.
- 30:59Speaker 4: They're only paying him one hundred and sixty three thousand
- 31:03Speaker 4: a year.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Somebody bring me a trampoline, I get involved, right for
- 31:07Speaker 2: that kind of money. Well, he didn't, well not even trampoline.
- 31:09Speaker 2: He dunked over a car. Yeah, he dunked over a car.
- 31:13Speaker 2: And he dunked, Yeah, he dunked on a car.
- 31:17Speaker 4: He did the double dunk, which was like you have
- 31:19Speaker 4: to like grab the ball that the person's holding, but
- 31:22Speaker 4: then there's another person holding another ball right by the
- 31:25Speaker 4: actual rim, So you have to while you're in the
- 31:27Speaker 4: air successfully get both balls into the hoops. He did
- 31:30Speaker 4: that too, and like now a lot of people will
- 31:33Speaker 4: say the I keep forgeting his first name, but the
- 31:36Speaker 4: young the Youngster night, he did really well too, and
- 31:39Speaker 4: he looked like he could have won it too. But
- 31:42Speaker 4: I think Max, you know, he's proved himself time and
- 31:45Speaker 4: time again. I mean, this is a three p three
- 31:48Speaker 4: three years in a row, he's won the Dunk Contest,
- 31:50Speaker 4: so really just crazy stuff.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, it's crazy.
- 31:55Speaker 4: To think though, like, yeah, he made he's made more
- 31:57Speaker 4: money off the dunk Contest than his own car on track,
- 32:01Speaker 4: I know, Like, and that's crazy to me because I'm
- 32:03Speaker 4: just like, I'm like, also, like the number is high,
- 32:06Speaker 4: don't get me wrong. One hundred and sixty three thousand
- 32:08Speaker 4: dollars is a lot of money, but for an NBA player,
- 32:10Speaker 4: that's like kind of low in my opinions, I'd be
- 32:13Speaker 4: curious to know. Maybe it's because like I mean, I
- 32:14Speaker 4: don't I don't know this, to be honest, I don't
- 32:16Speaker 4: know this kid outside of like the dunk contest. So
- 32:19Speaker 4: I think he's either a young guy or he's well,
- 32:23Speaker 4: he's been in the league for three years. I'm pretty
- 32:24Speaker 4: sure so he's, you know, not someone I really know,
- 32:29Speaker 4: but he definitely very young. Yeah, but he definitely is
- 32:32Speaker 4: someone who clearly is very good at dunking. I mean
- 32:35Speaker 4: three and three times in a row is very impressive.
- 32:38Speaker 2: So, God, what's regulation on? We're just watching it here.
- 32:44Speaker 2: On the height of the of the.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Hoop, I don't know the actual height, I'm pretty sure
- 32:52Speaker 4: it's gotta be. I would assume it's got to be
- 32:55Speaker 4: at least seven feet because I think the whole point
- 32:59Speaker 4: is to be able to like dunk on because most
- 33:03Speaker 4: most centers are usually that tall, give or take around
- 33:06Speaker 4: that like seven footer give or take. So, you know,
- 33:10Speaker 4: so I think the whole point of that is to
- 33:12Speaker 4: like be able to, like, you know, obviously dunk it.
- 33:15Speaker 3: But I would say, I would.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Say that the hoop's gotta be at least seven feet,
- 33:20Speaker 4: if not higher up, because they wouldn't make it too short,
- 33:24Speaker 4: because I'm pretty sure when it comes to the contest,
- 33:27Speaker 4: there is no height requirement.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I think you just have to be able to do
- 33:32Speaker 2: fancy dunks. Essentially, I'm looking at I'm looking at twenty sixteen. Here,
- 33:36Speaker 2: I'm trying to find, oh, here it is.
- 33:42Speaker 3: I heard exact number, but I'm gonna say seven feet.
- 33:44Speaker 3: That's my guess.
- 33:45Speaker 2: That's insane. Man's gotta be just insane. All right, we're
- 33:53Speaker 2: watching it here, this kid looks like he's you know,
- 33:56Speaker 2: I'm not to sound like an old man here, but
- 33:58Speaker 2: he looks like he's about eighteen years old.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of the young guys are obviously like
- 34:05Speaker 3: they look like baby faces. A lot of young youngsters, Jesus.
- 34:10Speaker 3: But yeah, no, no, they're all young. I mean, well,
- 34:12Speaker 3: what is it like?
- 34:15Speaker 4: Obviously I assume you've heard of at this point that like,
- 34:18Speaker 4: for example, like Lebron James Son, Brownie James for example.
- 34:21Speaker 4: I mean, he's nineteen, buddy, but like he's the opposite
- 34:25Speaker 4: in my opinion, because he's he's got that beard. So
- 34:27Speaker 4: I think he kind of looks like he could be
- 34:28Speaker 4: like twenty two, but he's nineteen, Like I said, so,
- 34:34Speaker 4: really doesn't ever.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Been practice in this? Hey? Can I borrow somebody's cars?
- 34:38Speaker 2: I can don't practice? What it's crazy kind?
- 34:45Speaker 3: What kind of hoop would you need though?
- 34:48Speaker 2: For me? Yeah?
- 34:49Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 34:49Speaker 2: It's the bungeee cup one that it goes on the
- 34:54Speaker 2: you know, the back door of my bedroom.
- 34:57Speaker 3: That one that's that's awesome. I like that answer.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Are you are you just what's what's going on with
- 35:03Speaker 2: with with March madness because it just seems like and again,
- 35:11Speaker 2: well you know that I'm not a uh a sports guy,
- 35:18Speaker 2: but it just seems like the excitement and and I'm
- 35:25Speaker 2: sure there's plenty out there that are gonna be like yeah,
- 35:28Speaker 2: JD the you think, but it just seems like there's
- 35:32Speaker 2: so much more of a level of excitement and passion
- 35:37Speaker 2: about March Madness, March Madness than than than n b A.
- 35:43Speaker 2: And it's and it just seems like more people are
- 35:47Speaker 2: anticipating this than anything that that goes on in the
- 35:50Speaker 2: n b A. Is that Is that a fair kind
- 35:53Speaker 2: of not really?
- 35:54Speaker 3: Maybe I wouldn't. It's hard to say. So this is
- 35:58Speaker 3: my opinion.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Well, I think March Madness alone is more popular than
- 36:03Speaker 4: the actual like college like is because like if you
- 36:08Speaker 4: look at the ratings, you know, the ratings are pretty
- 36:10Speaker 4: average when you look at you know, at just a
- 36:13Speaker 4: generic college game, whether it's like, you know, Duke, whether
- 36:17Speaker 4: it's LSU, Georgia, you know, Gonzale, whatever. When it comes
- 36:23Speaker 4: to college sports, March Madness is popular because of the
- 36:28Speaker 4: culture yeah, one hundred percent of the culture, because even
- 36:31Speaker 4: when I was in high school, for example, kids would
- 36:36Speaker 4: lose their mind when March was coming around. All the
- 36:39Speaker 4: kids that weren't big into sports, we're talking about it constantly,
- 36:42Speaker 4: like March madness is one of those things where and
- 36:45Speaker 4: now it definitely is. March madness is a lot more
- 36:48Speaker 4: entertaining than normal basketball is because obviously they're all young.
- 36:53Speaker 4: They're all young, so they are playing harder, they want
- 36:56Speaker 4: to score. But the thing is, I feel like point,
- 37:01Speaker 4: I feel like when you're in college and you're that young,
- 37:05Speaker 4: your accuracy is not as not as good now some
- 37:07Speaker 4: some kids obviously have better shooting and better you know
- 37:11Speaker 4: things than others. But when it comes to the college level,
- 37:14Speaker 4: I would say the culture is what makes it stand.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Now.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Now, is it debatable that I mean what I say
- 37:20Speaker 4: that the March madness is better all around than the
- 37:25Speaker 4: NBA playoffs for example.
- 37:26Speaker 1: No.
- 37:27Speaker 4: But but if I were to be like okay March madness,
- 37:31Speaker 4: or like a Lakers in Celtics game, I think as
- 37:35Speaker 4: much as the Lakers and Celtics are popular, I think
- 37:38Speaker 4: you're gonna get more tension even still from the March
- 37:41Speaker 4: Madness because it is the.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Culture of the time now.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Like I said, as soon as as soon as March
- 37:49Speaker 4: is over, it's gonna kind of die down. But like
- 37:52Speaker 4: I said, the tournament and what it stands for is
- 37:56Speaker 4: what brings the excitement around it come to life.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Sure, the best way I can put it.
- 38:02Speaker 2: And the fans, my god, it looks like the Huskies
- 38:05Speaker 2: are kind of having a challenge challenging go right now.
- 38:09Speaker 4: Which is surprising because they just didn't they just come
- 38:11Speaker 4: off the championship, didn't they like when the Yeah, I
- 38:14Speaker 4: was gonna say, they.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Just just just a very slow start.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Well, to be fair, it was kind of like.
- 38:20Speaker 4: How what was it when the Bengals and the Rams
- 38:25Speaker 4: had their Super Bowl a couple of years ago? You know,
- 38:28Speaker 4: the Rams ended up beating the Bengals in Joe Burrow
- 38:33Speaker 4: and then literally that season coming forth they didn't even
- 38:38Speaker 4: make the playoffs.
- 38:39Speaker 3: So that's kind of how it is.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Sometimes is like a team will win a championship and
- 38:45Speaker 4: then like, I don't you know, I think it's like
- 38:47Speaker 4: I don't know, I guess the best way is like
- 38:49Speaker 4: they come into the season after winning a championship sometimes lazy,
- 38:55Speaker 4: like the mentality of like, oh we just won the championship.
- 38:57Speaker 4: You know, we're definitely gonna be the best team, and
- 38:59Speaker 4: that youally, that mentality is usually not good because i mean,
- 39:04Speaker 4: like you said, look at the Huskies, It's like they
- 39:07Speaker 4: just won the championship and now they're kind of like
- 39:09Speaker 4: on a windy road where you know, they're winning, they're losing,
- 39:13Speaker 4: they're winning, they're you know, so.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it comes you put do you do? You put
- 39:19Speaker 2: money down?
- 39:20Speaker 3: I don't bet. I don't do any form of sports
- 39:23Speaker 3: betting or gambling personally. That's by choice.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Mainly because like now we like it's like going to
- 39:31Speaker 4: a real casino, right, It's like you can bet on
- 39:35Speaker 4: the obvious ones and then you'll get a little bit
- 39:37Speaker 4: of money. But then if you really want to play
- 39:40Speaker 4: like the big dogs and you want to take that risk,
- 39:42Speaker 4: it's like it's just like playing slots.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Yeah you will, you will get close, but.
- 39:49Speaker 4: There is a more likeliness that you will lose the
- 39:52Speaker 4: bet than you would win the bet, because at the
- 39:55Speaker 4: end of the day, the it doesn't matter where you play,
- 39:58Speaker 4: what system, whatever there is, it's like there's you know,
- 40:02Speaker 4: it's like the old saying, it's like the cards are
- 40:05Speaker 4: always in the house's favorite, and so it's like you
- 40:08Speaker 4: have to go when it comes to betting.
- 40:09Speaker 3: It's like you just have to be smart about your betting.
- 40:12Speaker 4: And now, if I wanted to do betting, I think
- 40:15Speaker 4: I would be one of those people who kind of
- 40:16Speaker 4: plays like the safe.
- 40:17Speaker 3: I wouldn't do stupid betting.
- 40:19Speaker 4: But either way, I just personally don't get into it
- 40:22Speaker 4: because I feel like then I feel like it's a
- 40:25Speaker 4: waste of money.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I feel like it's a waste of money. Now, some
- 40:27Speaker 3: people get very lucky.
- 40:28Speaker 4: They put they put, you know, forty bucks in and
- 40:31Speaker 4: then walk away with like maybe one hundred and twenty.
- 40:33Speaker 1: You know.
- 40:33Speaker 3: So that's like I'd say, it's a good But.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You're gonna watch Duke in Virginia tonight.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Duke in Virginia.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Actually I will be because I have ESPN, and I'm like,
- 40:42Speaker 4: I actually, it's funny because I was actually thinking about that.
- 40:44Speaker 4: I was looking at the games this morning and I
- 40:46Speaker 4: was like, these games actually look pretty good.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Maybe I'll turn on my TV first.
- 40:50Speaker 2: In the Atlantic coast there right, well, you'll be with
- 40:53Speaker 2: h with Illinois on Saturday and then Miami right after that.
- 40:57Speaker 3: That will be a very very impressive outing. I'm very
- 41:00Speaker 3: excited to see that one Miami. Miami looks.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you'll have a bracket though.
- 41:07Speaker 4: Right, Oh yeah, no, I I'm definitely paying attention to
- 41:10Speaker 4: the bracket. I don't really I want to say that, Like,
- 41:13Speaker 4: I don't know. I think this year, I think, in
- 41:15Speaker 4: my opinion, I think the team that's going to do
- 41:17Speaker 4: really well is like Duke is looking really good. I
- 41:21Speaker 4: would say, I'm I'm kind of excited to see how
- 41:23Speaker 4: like Duke finishes.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I mean, but like there's a lot of good teams
- 41:30Speaker 3: this coming year. A team I would like to see like.
- 41:35Speaker 4: End up winning it all or doing really well in
- 41:36Speaker 4: the March Madness would be Gonzalez or Gonzaga.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Gonzaga.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Gonzaga, like I was doing well about two years ago,
- 41:45Speaker 4: and so I'm hoping that they'll like kind of you know,
- 41:47Speaker 4: make that return come back that they were doing because
- 41:49Speaker 4: they were doing good, uh and then they kind of
- 41:52Speaker 4: like kind of like kind of like Huskies, they kind
- 41:54Speaker 4: of slowed down right after they won the championship, and
- 41:58Speaker 4: so I'm hoping that they'll make a make a gumback.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Gonzaga was I had a bracket that year. I have
- 42:04Speaker 2: no idea what that that bracket was somebody, you know,
- 42:07Speaker 2: somebody else filt it out for me. But I know
- 42:09Speaker 2: that Gonzaga was on that that's all I know. That's
- 42:12Speaker 2: all I know. And I know that I didn't win
- 42:15Speaker 2: any money either, right, but oh you know, I'm learning, man,
- 42:19Speaker 2: this is there's a lot to it.
- 42:21Speaker 3: So totally cutting off topic, but sports wise.
- 42:25Speaker 4: So I was actually I don't know if it was
- 42:27Speaker 4: you or someone else I was having a discussion with,
- 42:29Speaker 4: but I was having a discussion on the fact that
- 42:31Speaker 4: like when it comes to like college football, for example,
- 42:38Speaker 4: I was talking to someone about how I find it
- 42:40Speaker 4: funny kind of like I don't. So I'm pretty positive
- 42:43Speaker 4: that when it comes to college basketball and normal basketball,
- 42:47Speaker 4: the rules are pretty similar. However, though, when it comes
- 42:51Speaker 4: to college football and NFL football, they are polar opposites.
- 42:56Speaker 3: So college football's rules and.
- 42:58Speaker 4: The way they play is a lot different than the NFL.
- 43:01Speaker 4: And I was having a talk with someone about how,
- 43:03Speaker 4: you know, when all these young kids, like, you know,
- 43:08Speaker 4: for example, like let's say, like you know, like look
- 43:13Speaker 4: at like what happened to Kenny Pickett's and Mac Jones, right,
- 43:16Speaker 4: like Matt Jones was originally two years ago or a
- 43:19Speaker 4: year ago was the Patriots starting quarterback. Same with Kenny
- 43:22Speaker 4: Pickett was the Steelers quarterback before they got Justin Jeff
- 43:26Speaker 4: you know Justin Fields and Russell you know, Wilson and
- 43:29Speaker 4: then kind of pushed him out of the picture, sent
- 43:30Speaker 4: him over to the Eagles, which then he won a championship.
- 43:34Speaker 3: As a backup.
- 43:34Speaker 4: But the thing is is, like I was telling someone,
- 43:38Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't understand why college plays different than
- 43:41Speaker 4: in the NFL, because why would you force those youngsters
- 43:45Speaker 4: to learn a whole nother system and then throw them
- 43:48Speaker 4: into a game that is polar opposites. Yeah, because, like,
- 43:51Speaker 4: for example, when the Seahawks when we drafted two years ago,
- 43:55Speaker 4: when we drafted Devin Witherspoon cornerback out of he was
- 44:00Speaker 4: out of Idaho or no, Illinois, Illinois. He's from Illinois College.
- 44:05Speaker 4: He was, you know, he's he's a hitter. He kind
- 44:07Speaker 4: of reminds me of I don't know if you know
- 44:09Speaker 4: who Cam Chancellor is, but yeah, I figure not. But
- 44:12Speaker 4: either way, he reminds me of Cam Chancellor for people
- 44:14Speaker 4: who know. And the thing is, though, is his first
- 44:17Speaker 4: year when he first came in, it was at first
- 44:20Speaker 4: rocky for the first six games, But then he got
- 44:23Speaker 4: his groove and like totally like stood out after by
- 44:26Speaker 4: the end of the season. But like he came into
- 44:28Speaker 4: the game and he was like hitting people kind of
- 44:31Speaker 4: like illegally in the NFL. However, though a lot of
- 44:34Speaker 4: the hits he was doing actually were okay and appropriate
- 44:37Speaker 4: in the college college play. And so the thing is, like,
- 44:42Speaker 4: I want to, you know, be that person to be
- 44:45Speaker 4: like when is call when is the like the and
- 44:48Speaker 4: or not the NFL, but the the football college, Like
- 44:51Speaker 4: when are they gonna like make it so the rules
- 44:54Speaker 4: are similar to the NFL, because what's the point of
- 44:56Speaker 4: training these kids and making them learn a specific way
- 45:00Speaker 4: and then throw them into a system that's totally different.
- 45:04Speaker 2: I had I was overhearing this exact same conversation when
- 45:13Speaker 2: I was at a Dartmouth Cornell football game, which by
- 45:18Speaker 2: the way, was if you haven't been over to Dartmouth
- 45:23Speaker 2: to see a home game over there their college team
- 45:27Speaker 2: is it's a lot of fun. Have you have you
- 45:30Speaker 2: been not a Dartmouth person, but I have been to.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I went to I think about a year ago. I
- 45:38Speaker 2: saw a UVM game football wise.
- 45:41Speaker 3: And that was not too bad.
- 45:43Speaker 2: I went down and and uh, I went down to
- 45:45Speaker 2: Yukon and caught a game down there this past fall too.
- 45:48Speaker 2: But wow, you know, I've heard that this conversation was
- 45:51Speaker 2: taking place behind me on the stands and the guy
- 45:55Speaker 2: that I was with got involved in in that conversation too,
- 45:59Speaker 2: and I didn't know, of course I didn't know any
- 46:01Speaker 2: of that, but yeah, it's what's up with that?
- 46:04Speaker 3: Okay?
- 46:05Speaker 4: Yeah, So like, for example, like when it comes to college,
- 46:08Speaker 4: they're punting rule for example, they're punting is they're like
- 46:12Speaker 4: there's they're a special teams is a whole nother format.
- 46:17Speaker 4: Now the NFL sort of has started doing what the
- 46:20Speaker 4: college was doing for a while, which is like the
- 46:22Speaker 4: whole like you know, uh, the like you got the
- 46:25Speaker 4: guy catching the punt in the back, and then the
- 46:28Speaker 4: team kind of stays and then once the guy catches it,
- 46:32Speaker 4: uh you know, because like what happens is like the
- 46:34Speaker 4: two teams sort of meet, but they can't cross a
- 46:36Speaker 4: certain line until the ball has been successfully caught or
- 46:39Speaker 4: has hit the ground. And so the NFL recently did
- 46:43Speaker 4: that to avoid because uh, you know, to avoid special
- 46:46Speaker 4: team injuries like people getting injured during the punt return
- 46:50Speaker 4: or the you know, the kickoff and so like, you know,
- 46:53Speaker 4: now that the NFL is kind of doing that, that's
- 46:55Speaker 4: a little different, but like a lot of like for example,
- 46:59Speaker 4: college calling lets a lot more hits and a lot
- 47:02Speaker 4: more rough like rough calls slide because they're young. But
- 47:06Speaker 4: then when you get in the NFL, you've got people
- 47:08Speaker 4: of different ages. You don't have just young people. You
- 47:11Speaker 4: don't have people who are like nineteen or twenty. You
- 47:13Speaker 4: now have twenty year olds playing against thirty something year olds,
- 47:16Speaker 4: you know, And so exactly its spread. And so the
- 47:19Speaker 4: thing is now the NFL has kind of obviously, as
- 47:22Speaker 4: people know, not only does it you know, it's kind
- 47:25Speaker 4: of gotten a little bit.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I wouldn't say, you know, i'd say rigged a little bit.
- 47:29Speaker 4: But at the same time, it's it's more they definitely
- 47:34Speaker 4: they definitely make it a little bit more softer. They
- 47:36Speaker 4: definitely make it so like people can't get hurt as often,
- 47:39Speaker 4: which is smart obviously, But at the same time, it's
- 47:42Speaker 4: like the whole point of having the you know, the helmet,
- 47:46Speaker 4: the pads and all of that is because it is
- 47:48Speaker 4: a rough sport and that's kind of what it is.
- 47:50Speaker 4: And these guys are are prepared at a young age
- 47:54Speaker 4: to play this sport and that it is a rough sport. However, though,
- 47:58Speaker 4: I would say, like I said, is that college, rule wise, lets.
- 48:02Speaker 3: A lot more things slide.
- 48:04Speaker 4: So when the youngsters come to play, they're like throwing
- 48:07Speaker 4: their hands up, being like, why am I getting penalized?
- 48:10Speaker 3: I was able to do this in college, no problem,
- 48:13Speaker 3: you know.
- 48:13Speaker 4: So it's it's definitely something that I feel like the
- 48:17Speaker 4: college has to address, is that, Like, you know, if
- 48:20Speaker 4: the NFL is kind of getting more safer about certain plays,
- 48:25Speaker 4: I feel like college should also do the same. Because again,
- 48:28Speaker 4: if these kids are being taught that they can do
- 48:31Speaker 4: some things that they actually can't do in the NFL,
- 48:34Speaker 4: when they come to the NFL, they're gonna not exactly fail,
- 48:38Speaker 4: but they're gonna have a rocky start. And in like
- 48:41Speaker 4: I've noticed in the last five or six years, a
- 48:44Speaker 4: lot of the kids that get drafted in the first
- 48:46Speaker 4: second round pick, they usually like fade into darkness after
- 48:51Speaker 4: about a year or two because they either don't play
- 48:54Speaker 4: as good as they anticipated from their college or they
- 48:58Speaker 4: just in general get swapped to another team and then
- 49:01Speaker 4: that another team doesn't actually play them, and so then they,
- 49:05Speaker 4: like I said, they kind of fade into the dark.
- 49:07Speaker 3: They fade into the black.
- 49:08Speaker 2: How about the text messages between you and I during
- 49:13Speaker 2: the Super Bowl?
- 49:14Speaker 1: You and I?
- 49:15Speaker 3: I didn't see any of that. Actually, I was not
- 49:17Speaker 3: aware of this.
- 49:18Speaker 2: What are you talking about? You and I texting each other?
- 49:20Speaker 4: Oh?
- 49:20Speaker 3: You and I are sorry?
- 49:21Speaker 4: I thought, I thought it's funny because there's a there's
- 49:24Speaker 4: a company truck that comes around here called.
- 49:26Speaker 3: You and I a truck. So I'm like, is you
- 49:28Speaker 3: and I as yeah as you and I as sorry?
- 49:31Speaker 3: I heard you wrong? You and ice for it?
- 49:33Speaker 1: No?
- 49:34Speaker 3: Yeah, oh my god, Yeah, so we were.
- 49:37Speaker 4: I was laughing the whole time, just like because I'm
- 49:41Speaker 4: I told myself, I'm like, I kind of was only
- 49:44Speaker 4: I obviously we'll get to the halftime show in a minute,
- 49:47Speaker 4: because I already know you. You have a lot to
- 49:49Speaker 4: say about that. As I saw I saw your I
- 49:51Speaker 4: saw your Facebook. I know, I know you have a
- 49:53Speaker 4: lot to say.
- 49:54Speaker 2: But you and Joe, You and Joe need to need
- 49:57Speaker 2: to share a microphone because both of you are Kendrick guys.
- 50:00Speaker 4: I well, no, that's the thing. I actually don't really
- 50:03Speaker 4: listen to Kendrick Lamar. I only know Kendrick Lamar because
- 50:06Speaker 4: of obviously the whole Drake and Kanye situation. But I
- 50:09Speaker 4: also know him because back in high school, I listened
- 50:12Speaker 4: to him when he like dropped his like Humble album,
- 50:16Speaker 4: which is his most popular one. That one was a
- 50:19Speaker 4: really great album, and he has other great songs. But like,
- 50:23Speaker 4: when it comes down to it, I would say, I
- 50:25Speaker 4: don't listen to Kendrick a lot, but I think that
- 50:28Speaker 4: he is a good rapper.
- 50:29Speaker 3: But when I heard back in.
- 50:34Speaker 4: Back in the summer, when when they first announced that
- 50:36Speaker 4: he was gonna be the halftime show, like because they obviously,
- 50:40Speaker 4: like they prepare it like nine months prior, they like
- 50:43Speaker 4: already they already know who they want to be at
- 50:45Speaker 4: the Super Bowl halftime well before the season even starts.
- 50:48Speaker 4: And the thing is is, like I agreed with most
- 50:52Speaker 4: people in the sense that like there were more bands,
- 50:56Speaker 4: more artists in my opinion, that deserved it. How h though,
- 51:00Speaker 4: I think Kendrick got it mainly because of the whole,
- 51:06Speaker 4: the whole drama with the Drake situation. I think it's
- 51:10Speaker 4: because the whole, the whole thought project because like for
- 51:15Speaker 4: a while, Drake was considered like the you know, the
- 51:18Speaker 4: big dog of rap, the rap culture, like he was
- 51:21Speaker 4: kind of on the highest pedestal, and now Kendrick kind
- 51:25Speaker 4: of kicked him all the way down. And now he's
- 51:27Speaker 4: he's not even making music, he's not even on social
- 51:30Speaker 4: media anymore.
- 51:30Speaker 3: He's a ghost right now.
- 51:32Speaker 4: And so and so it's like, I think because of
- 51:36Speaker 4: the media attention it was getting when it was happening
- 51:40Speaker 4: is a big reason why they gave it to him
- 51:42Speaker 4: out of out of anybody.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Yeah, what did you think of that Super Bowl game?
- 51:47Speaker 3: So the game game wise?
- 51:48Speaker 4: I loved the game, especially, like you know, if you're
- 51:51Speaker 4: an Eagles fan, you were having the time of your
- 51:53Speaker 4: life and we have not. It's crazy because we haven't
- 51:57Speaker 4: seen a blowout like that since this the Seahawks and
- 52:01Speaker 4: Denver Broncos Super Bowl where we beat them forty two
- 52:05Speaker 4: to eight. We haven't seen a Super Bowl like that
- 52:07Speaker 4: in a minute now. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs definitely
- 52:11Speaker 4: got their little pity points at the end of the
- 52:13Speaker 4: game when it didn't really matter anymore. But wow, though,
- 52:17Speaker 4: the fact that the Eagles stopped Patrick Mahomes from scoring
- 52:21Speaker 4: a single touchdown in three straight quarters, Wow, that is
- 52:26Speaker 4: that is insane.
- 52:27Speaker 2: You think the Eagles let their guard down a little
- 52:30Speaker 2: bit towards.
- 52:30Speaker 4: The end, I mean obviously, but like at that point
- 52:32Speaker 4: it didn't matter because you were so far ahead to
- 52:35Speaker 4: where it's like you can celebrate now because they were Yeah, exactly,
- 52:39Speaker 4: It's like you can celebrate now because like you know, now, obviously,
- 52:45Speaker 4: you know, everyone for some reason thought by halftime that
- 52:49Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes would somehow pull a Tom Brady where he'd
- 52:52Speaker 4: come back. Yeah, but like the difference between you know,
- 52:56Speaker 4: obviously there is a I would say there's a skill
- 52:59Speaker 4: difference between I mean Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. But
- 53:03Speaker 4: I think it's also that unlike unlike the Falcons, the
- 53:08Speaker 4: Eagles clearly still pursued and still played dominantly even after,
- 53:14Speaker 4: you know, even after well because and the thing is,
- 53:18Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes had a whole two quarters to make a comeback,
- 53:21Speaker 4: and he couldn't even muster a single touchdown until about
- 53:26Speaker 4: the last like ten minutes of the fourth quarter, and
- 53:28Speaker 4: it just didn't matter anymore.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Now, I was.
- 53:32Speaker 4: I think you and I were having a ball, especially
- 53:34Speaker 4: when we watched Patrick Mahomes get sacked what was it
- 53:37Speaker 4: three times in a row, and then he also threw
- 53:40Speaker 4: those back to back picks. I remember, what was it
- 53:44Speaker 4: it wasn't the first one was crazy Cooper, the rookie
- 53:47Speaker 4: Cooper Cooper.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Dejon uh or Dejean Dijon.
- 53:52Speaker 4: I don't know Dejeane dejon whatever he him getting that,
- 53:56Speaker 4: you know, pick six in his rookie career against pat
- 54:00Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes is definitely gonna be a highlight of his career,
- 54:03Speaker 4: no doubt.
- 54:07Speaker 3: But the second, the second one is the second. The
- 54:10Speaker 3: second one was The second interception was crazy.
- 54:14Speaker 4: Yeah, because I even I even made a joke, like
- 54:16Speaker 4: thirty seconds prior to him throwing the interception.
- 54:18Speaker 3: I was like, all right. I looked at my little
- 54:21Speaker 3: sister and I go, all right, how much you want
- 54:23Speaker 3: to bet?
- 54:23Speaker 2: Right here?
- 54:24Speaker 4: He's gonna throw a pick. She goes, He's not gonna
- 54:27Speaker 4: throw a pick. I'm like, really, you want to bet
- 54:29Speaker 4: on it? And obviously she said no because she didn't
- 54:30Speaker 4: want to bet, and he threw the pick. I was
- 54:34Speaker 4: tempted to be like twenty dup bucks twenty bucks, because
- 54:36Speaker 4: then I could have had forty bucks. Man.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yeah, what a game though, Yeah, what a game? What
- 54:44Speaker 2: a game it really was?
- 54:45Speaker 4: You know what's crazy though, speaking of like the halftime show,
- 54:48Speaker 4: the thing I've you know, I've never really understood. Now,
- 54:50Speaker 4: maybe this is their choice. How come Metallica has not
- 54:55Speaker 4: been to a super Bowl halftime? Literally the biggest rock
- 55:00Speaker 4: little band has never been to a super Bowl And
- 55:04Speaker 4: it's like and it's like they're about to retire. But
- 55:06Speaker 4: the person I honestly wanted, which I don't know why
- 55:09Speaker 4: they didn't do this, was for the halftime show.
- 55:12Speaker 3: I wanted Ozzy Osbourne.
- 55:14Speaker 4: I wanted Ozzy to do because like, obviously Ozzie's doing
- 55:18Speaker 4: not too well and he's you know, he's getting older.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it was they would they'd have to wheel him
- 55:23Speaker 2: out in a wheelchair.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Well, I don't know.
- 55:24Speaker 4: He's got his little he's got his crazy his little
- 55:26Speaker 4: his little like his little cane he has.
- 55:29Speaker 3: He can know, he can walk.
- 55:30Speaker 4: He definitely could walk any any can he can still
- 55:32Speaker 4: sing because he proved it as of like a couple
- 55:34Speaker 4: of months ago.
- 55:35Speaker 3: He could still do it.
- 55:36Speaker 4: But like, obviously it wouldn't be all that crazy, like
- 55:41Speaker 4: because he can't move around like you know most people like,
- 55:44Speaker 4: he's very kind of slow, so he so he kind
- 55:46Speaker 4: of be standing there for the most part. But still though,
- 55:49Speaker 4: I just think that it would have been cool even
- 55:51Speaker 4: if he was just even if he was just there
- 55:53Speaker 4: for like a one song that would have been pretty cool.
- 55:57Speaker 2: But I think there's a few Black Sabbath guys that
- 56:02Speaker 2: are that are still alive that would have Oh. No,
- 56:04Speaker 2: the whole band is still alive. No, the whole band
- 56:06Speaker 2: is still No, they're still a round.
- 56:08Speaker 3: I think. No, I lied.
- 56:10Speaker 4: I think I think one of them has already passed.
- 56:12Speaker 4: I can't remember the top of my head. I should
- 56:15Speaker 4: know this, which is sad, but I don't on the
- 56:17Speaker 4: top of my head.
- 56:18Speaker 2: But I know that.
- 56:21Speaker 3: For the most part they have that. Oh.
- 56:24Speaker 4: But then also like that crazy thing with like Nirvana
- 56:26Speaker 4: or Post Malone for Saturday Light or whatever. It was
- 56:29Speaker 4: like he did, uh he did a Nirvana song with
- 56:33Speaker 4: with like Dave Grol and the rest of the band,
- 56:35Speaker 4: which was pretty cool. It's it's actually kind of funny
- 56:37Speaker 4: seeing Dave Grol on the drum kit after like thirty years,
- 56:41Speaker 4: because I'm so used to seeing him as the Foo
- 56:43Speaker 4: Fighters guy where he's playing guitar front. So seeing him
- 56:46Speaker 4: on the drums on Saturday was hilarious because it's like
- 56:50Speaker 4: it's just kind of like, you know, like I haven't
- 56:52Speaker 4: seen this in years.
- 56:54Speaker 2: My my my million dollar question, yes, is why has
- 57:01Speaker 2: ac DC never performed at the super Bowl halftime show?
- 57:06Speaker 3: Same?
- 57:06Speaker 4: Well, I think the same thing with Metallica. I think
- 57:09Speaker 4: it's like a choice because the thing is, like I
- 57:12Speaker 4: can't imagine because, like I said, at this point, the
- 57:15Speaker 4: fact that, like like I said, ac DC, Metallically, the
- 57:17Speaker 4: fact that these big bands have not done it, it's
- 57:21Speaker 4: because I would go on a whim and say, like,
- 57:23Speaker 4: like I said, it's a choice, because even even Aerosmith
- 57:27Speaker 4: hasn't even done one.
- 57:29Speaker 3: I don't think they've done. Sure, I don't think they have.
- 57:33Speaker 4: I know Prince obviously has, but like maybe I don't
- 57:39Speaker 4: remember if Aerosmith has, I don't.
- 57:41Speaker 3: I don't recall.
- 57:42Speaker 2: I think they did. It was so yeah, two thousand
- 57:44Speaker 2: and one, Oh they have Okay, Oh then I'm so
- 57:48Speaker 2: thousand and one. Well, to be fair, I was right
- 57:50Speaker 2: alongside Britney Spears.
- 57:54Speaker 3: That's a that's that's a combination Britney's years in arrow.
- 58:01Speaker 2: It was Tampa.
- 58:03Speaker 1: Wow.
- 58:05Speaker 3: That goes to show like just how young I am.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't even hold how old are you?
- 58:09Speaker 1: Well?
- 58:09Speaker 4: I am twenty two, So I wasn't even born till
- 58:11Speaker 4: two thousand and two, So technically I wasn't even alive
- 58:13Speaker 4: when they had that performance. My god, yeah, it's crazy
- 58:16Speaker 4: to think about it. I wasn't even I wasn't even
- 58:18Speaker 4: alive when that happened.
- 58:20Speaker 2: We have the tenth polar vortex that is hitting forty
- 58:27Speaker 2: eight states this winter season, compared to the two or
- 58:32Speaker 2: three during an average winter. This is number ten in
- 58:37Speaker 2: the Dakota's, the upper Midwest, even Kansas to Maine at
- 58:45Speaker 2: or below zero. And these cold temperatures are dipping as
- 58:49Speaker 2: far south as Atlanta and Austin, Texas, where attempts could
- 58:53Speaker 2: be into the teens by Wednesday with snow and ice.
- 58:59Speaker 4: I mean, this is well, that's well, that's concerning, especially
- 59:03Speaker 4: if you're from the South, because unlike up here in
- 59:06Speaker 4: New England, down south, they don't do or they don't
- 59:10Speaker 4: really have. They have little to no uh selection of
- 59:15Speaker 4: like for example, like winter and or studded tires and
- 59:19Speaker 4: so and no offense and no offense like and I make,
- 59:23Speaker 4: you know, and I make and I just want to say,
- 59:25Speaker 4: like no effects of fence to southern people and like
- 59:28Speaker 4: you know, the people that live in the warm weathers,
- 59:31Speaker 4: but y'all get like a foot of snow and it's
- 59:35Speaker 4: like it's like an apocalypse, just.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Cars hitting cars, like nobody.
- 59:42Speaker 1: What was it?
- 59:43Speaker 2: Back?
- 59:43Speaker 3: Was it last year? It was last year that.
- 59:47Speaker 4: Texas had their like winter freeze over where they got
- 59:51Speaker 4: like what was it? They got like two or three
- 59:53Speaker 4: inches of snow. But like because obviously there their states
- 59:56Speaker 4: aren't prepared for that because they don't normally get that
- 59:59Speaker 4: kind of weather.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Well, again, we have the the wind warnings in place
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: until ten pm tonight here in Vermont. We get blowing
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: and drifting snow gusting upwards of around forty to fifty
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: miles per hour. So the road's time going to be good?
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: What time are we reflect pretty much all day today
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: and right up until ten tonight.
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: So well, so far as I'm looking outside right now,
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: we're kind of lucky right now.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: But well we're also embraced by all these buildings here.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: But you get out in the big road, be careful, man,
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Oh careful.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Oh no, I was on the road the last two days,
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: so I've I've been like lucky for me. My car
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: is a little bit not like super new, but like
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: it's a newer car, so I have like, for example,
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: I don't know if your car has it, but my
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: car has it where like it'll tell me if I'm sliding,
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: it'll pop up, being like it'll show me the little
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: like your little car crash it.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: And I kind of like that now that because like
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: I had before I had my current car, I had
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: a twenty fourteen or fifteen Jeep. Now that doesn't seem
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: that bad, but like this was around the time when
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: Jeep and like Jeep the company Jeep was getting like
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: blue tooth. Like my car didn't have bluetooth that my
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: old Compass. It did not have a bluetooth. It did
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: not have a fancy touch screen. It literally had a
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: CD player and a basic like green led screen that
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: just displayed the time. And so the thing was about
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: that is I didn't have like the fancy contraction. Like
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: the only way I knew I was sliding is if
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: my car was physically sliding. And so now that I
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: have the now obviously I know when I'm sliding. But
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: it's kind of nice when I see that little thing
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: like pop up because it at least lets me know
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: be like, okay, let go of the gas and just
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: start controlling the car because you're because if you hit
- 1:01:48Speaker 4: the gas, it's not gonna.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Help, wow, just go easy today to pend down.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: I go, I go super slow.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: I go like for example, like when I'm on the
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: interstate with days like this, I'm going like fifty at
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: the time, so I'm going past fifty because I'm like.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: It's like the roads.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: Some places don't look so bad, but then you will
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: go from like clear somewhat clear road to suddenly it's
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: like orangeish brownish slush just in a big pile too,
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: And that's the worst.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: You were just up at the up the mountain over
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: the week I.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Was, I was over in Stow.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: I actually so lucky for me and my me and
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: my girlfriend we uh we so we were there. We
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: were up in Stow, and we luckily when we were
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: leaving the ski resort because we decided to go with
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: some friends there. Her friends went skiing while me and
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: her did like some looking around and we did some
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: ice skating, which I realize I am terrible at I Oh,
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I am so bad at it. I she was she
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: was making. She got she's got videos of me. She's
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: got videos of me, like just like I'm having like
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: the little the kitty little like the crane, I've got
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: the little thing I've got literal children that are using them.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Sure, and I'm over here.
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: Uh Now there was an older gentleman who also was
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: using one, So I didn't feel as bad, but I
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: felt I felt like I didn't feel like as much
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: as like I should have been embarrassed. I didn't really
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: feel embarrassed. I was more laughing at myself. But at
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: the same time, I was like, you know what, I'm
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: having fun. But anyway back to the picture though, I uh,
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: A long story short. We as soon as we were
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: leaving Stowe, like as soon as we had we were
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: passing through Stow and Waterbury like heading towards the interstate,
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: is right when the snow started to hit.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and so we.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: Safely were able to get home. But like even getting
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: there that morning was a little rocky and a little slushy. Yeah,
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: but yeah, even coming coming back throughout though was Oh
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: it was not fun.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: I remember the days when I was skiing and just
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: getting out the freezing my ass off and enjoying it.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: So it's it's like fun. But I was like, what
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: the hell?
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's so like the thing about like I
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: know a lot of Vermontors would disagree with me. They
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: love their winter sports. I am the opposite. I don't
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: I'd rather do like I would rather do summer sports
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: because I'd rather be hot and then just have some
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: water versus I'm freezing. I don't have a heating pack.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: I don't have something that's you know I have. And
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: that's what when we went up there, I brought extra socks.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: I brought extra things because and then, you know, she
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: laughed at me, She's like, why are you grabbing all
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: the stuff. And now she is not actually from the
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: state of her Mont. She's actually a Southerner herself, and
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: so before she moved up here for you know, work
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: and stuff. You know, so she like, so her like,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: we did this last minute. By the way, she calls
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: me the day before and goes, hey, I'm at Walmart
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: picking up like snow pants and stuff like that. And
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: I'm just like, okay, what do you do?
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: You have gloves? Do you have hats? She's like no,
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: and I'm like, get gloves and hats, because.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: That's a whole different planet up there, man, I mean,
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: that's the wind every well, it's.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: Not even just that.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: It's like I was explaining to her because she didn't
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: understand until we were actually there, because when we were
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: driving there it wasn't so bad. But I was explaining
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: to her, I'm like, she's like, because we're in the
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: car getting there, she goes, Oh, it's not that cold out,
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Like maybe you.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Won't need as much. I'm like, wait till you get
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: any elevation.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: Wait till you're actually physically up on the hill, because
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: it's the elevation and the winds that make the difference
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: whether you're gonna be cold or not.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Sure, Sure, listen if you do love freezing your tail
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: off and having fun in the snow. The twenty twenty
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: five Freezing Fun for Families Winter co Ed Softball Tournament
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: is coming.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: It is.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: It's almost here Friday, February twenty eighth through Sunday, March
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: second at the Berrytown reck Field. And tomorrow Mark and
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Ang Duncan are gonna be coming in the top fundraising
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: team of the Winter co Ed Softball Tournament and they're
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: going to sit down with us and we're going to
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: have a wonderful conversation Tomorrow. I can't wait. Wednesday, Sandy
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Russ from Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice is going
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: to come by. We're going to talk about town funding Thursday.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: Gee is going to be in Friday. Rex Thursday, early morning.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: I got something real interesting going on and I'll share
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: it with you probably after it happens, but I'll tell
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: you all about it. Thanks for coming in here, Logan.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Thank you so much for having me Logan Loose my
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: guest this morning. I appreciate you very much.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Mane oh no, thank you. No, I really appreciate it.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: I've learned so much from you, I know, thank you.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: No, I think I learned well.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: The thing about myself, I would say before we go,
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: is that I just I learn as I go. I'm
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: one of those people where like I learned things that
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: I go. But to be fair, like the difference between
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: you and I is that obviously you don't really keep
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: up with sports, and so the thing is it's like
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: it's like I've you know, obviously I've been doing like
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: I've been watching it since I mean I've been watching
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: football with my dad, for example.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: Since I was like ten years old.
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: So yeah, right, I've been watching football for easily twelve years,
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: and I've easily been watching basketball for at least six
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: to seven. And so it's like it's just when you
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: have that time, just like anything, you know anything at all.
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Right, So, but thank you so much for having me, and.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: I'll set you and let's let's do it again. I
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: would love to get you in here with with Joe
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: and have you guys sit down and you guys can
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: beat me up about Kendrick Lamar and you know, we'll
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: just have some fun.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: That would be awesome.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Yeah. I just got a message here. Good morning. Yes,
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: it's cold here in Florida this morning. I actually had
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: to turn my heat on sitting here drinking my coffee
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: watching your video. As I do every day. I do
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: the same thing with leftover drippings. I'll take them and
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: put them over mashed potatoes. Never waste anything. Have a
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: blessed day.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: That hysterical, that's hilarious. I like, I like that comment.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: That's great. Show her what she's what she's missing up
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: hearing for month.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: I mean, if it's freezing there, you're not really missing
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: anything here. I'm like, I'm like, I'll switch. I'd love
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: to be down in Florida right now with the warm weather.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Thanks buddy, thanks for coming in, Thank you for having me.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yes,
