- Sue: gratitude as I occasionally do for living where I can access public state forest land as most of my videos show. And it's got me thinking this morning about the choices we make early on in life that are often based on perhaps the environment in which we grew up as children as to whether we want to continue living in that environment or get the heck away from it 180 degrees. Perhaps. In my case, I've always had access to natural settings where the family was situated. And I think that has always been, for me, important to have in my life because I know how to use it as a sort of spiritual refuge or emotional refuge, a place where you can come out and be so distracted by the natural beauty of where you are. It doesn't have to be stunning beauty. It changes every day. The light changes every second. It's all of that. that allows you when you are present, that's all that you're focused on. If you go so far as to add a dog, of which mine is half pointer and half Labrador Retriever, you've got the extra excitement of whatever they sense in the environment in which you're walking. And it means that I have to be ever more present for that. My dog encounters bears, deer, foxes, gets annoyed with chipmunks, and of course there are hawks and eagles on occasion overhead, so I'm mindful that she might be considered a snack. All sorts of things, snakes tripping over rocks. We had an encounter last night with a fox, and Rita absolutely goes total reactive, barking and pulling and wanting to be friendly with the fox, and I think the fox... also wants to be friends, but not with that noisy thing, and takes all of my strength sometimes. And it means that I have to be present because, you know, it's not like we're, as far as I'm aware, I'm not on a schedule for when the fox appears and doesn't, but it's that ability of nature that has, throughout my life, given me an opportunity to sort of reset the spiritual and the intellectual world that might be out of balance. Maybe it's filled with more negative thoughts than there should be, or feeling off. I'm not being dismissive of any potential medical problems at all, but I'm just indicating that there are times when being able to live your life in an environment that you resonate with will help guide you because all of a sudden it's a reset of your senses and once you remove your senses temporarily, it's just an ability to allow the universe to come through more easily without stress. Whatever triggers the stress, well, might be clear at that point so that you can figure out a solution to remove the stress. That's key, I think. It's not like you're coming out into the natural setting with the intent of returning with a solution, but that you're going out into the setting because it's a part of your life and you're only focused on what you're experiencing in that setting for those moments because you gotta stay on target. thinking that the dog might be reacting to something that you don't see first. So you gotta be relaxed and you gotta be at peace. And you know, all of those things work for allowing the universe to flow things through you in a way that if you're not directly asking the question of I need a solution of this or how do I get there with this, you'll be fine. You will get the solution as long as you don't ask for it. That means don't manifest on it. For example, yesterday I happened to cross the path of a trillium species called jack-in-the-pulpit, and I took pictures of it. And I know generally the area in which they thrive. And goodness knows we've been through there today, and I can't see it anywhere. So it's all about the fact that I wasn't as fully present today as I was yesterday, and that it shows up in such innocuous situations like this that helps guide you to understand what you need to do more clearly. ⁓ the deer. Well, it's a good thing I've got a picture of that. This is why I think it's important to have such a place. And that if it traces back to how you grew up as a child, well, I think that's a very fortunate place to be because now what you understand is that it's intrinsic to who you are. And everything that you can do that sort of aligns to what you are is going to feel real easy. And frankly, that's where you're... Best joy and creativity comes in because everything's calm. There's plenty of room for it to just explode from you. And when you find yourself in the rest of your life outside of this natural setting, going back to your home or workplace or wherever, and you're just starting to notice the stressors that you can't put your finger on, but nonetheless you feel the undercurrent of negative vibe lurking around you, once you identify it, you need to get rid of it. and then not be afraid of it if it returns. You know, it's the kind of scenario of people get into this thing when they socialize where they won't go to a party if they know that X is gonna be there or Y with them makes it unpalatable to socialize, right? So you decide to not go to the party instead of just dealing with it in the aspect of saying, you know, unless it's a party of four and these two and us are the only ones making. The social event, I guess I don't have to worry about it because I don't have to socialize with them, might run into them. And you know, it's all of that. you you see where people all of a sudden try and reshape their environment. And all that it is is simply understanding that that which is causing you stress really doesn't need to be a part of your life once you realize what it is. And if it's relationships that have to end, it won't be the first time or the last time in your life. You'll get better at it, particularly if you learn not to take it personally, ironically. But in the greater sense of self, personally means you're making the best decision for yourself because you love yourself. That's not being egotistical. That's about surviving. And when things are calm and balanced, it's easier to survive and create new energy that helps you thrive, because there's no drama. But if this situation has evolved from the time that you were very young, confirmation was a woodpecker, undoing that after having lived in it for most of your adult life might be really time consuming because you're going to feel as though everything in your life is a lie. It might be. And then you're going to slap yourself on the head thinking, well, why the heck did I allow that to happen? Well, they were good at it. They wanted to keep you in this lie that served an interest that you weren't aware of, to serve them more. whatever that end is, whether it's finances, because you were a good breadwinner or something, who knows, confirmation with a woodpecker. The detail of it's less important about the fact that you may find yourself at one point in your life confronting. Everything that you know is actually having been artifice and you're not alone with that reality. And the way around it is to find another place in the universe where it isn't full of artifice. The only way to do that is start with yourself. Don't need anything more than some quiet time. And if you're in this part of your life where you do have access to nature and that's the only place where you find solitude, that's a huge plus. Go with that for a while. Confirmation with a woodpecker. The clarity is in the balance in your life, a feeling as though you're not triggered any longer and recognizing that when you do get triggered that that stuff doesn't belong in your life and there has to be a way that you can maneuver away from it. Everybody has to find their place. Confirmation with a bird. You control you. Thanks for listening.
