- 0:13Speaker 2: Morning on this the third day of March. And why
- 0:16Speaker 2: are you feeling good? This morning? Love to start the
- 0:19Speaker 2: show with something very positive going on in your world?
- 0:22Speaker 2: So chilly what you got today?
- 0:23Speaker 3: We finally got all our tax stuff together to give
- 0:25Speaker 3: to our accountant.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Well that is an overwhelming uh process.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Yes, it's a process for sure. And we finally got
- 0:34Speaker 3: all the things delivered. I don't know how else to
- 0:38Speaker 3: say it, but we dropped the stuff off and it's
- 0:40Speaker 3: out of our hands.
- 0:41Speaker 4: And see what the government does with it.
- 0:43Speaker 2: That's right, Well, first the accountants, then they get and
- 0:47Speaker 2: then the government.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Yeah, So why are you feeling good?
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm feeling great because I have been keeping up with sleep,
- 0:53Speaker 2: you know, Like I couldn't believe it. Over the weekend,
- 0:55Speaker 2: I felt for a hot second like I was just
- 0:58Speaker 2: being a loner, but in reality, I was listening to
- 1:00Speaker 2: my body and I slept some kind of insane amount
- 1:05Speaker 2: of time over the weekend and then I did the
- 1:07Speaker 2: same thing yesterday on Monday, So knock on wood, I'll
- 1:11Speaker 2: keep it up today because sleep is the most important
- 1:14Speaker 2: thing you can do for your body to heal. Yes,
- 1:16Speaker 2: and sometimes our schedule is a little whacked out when
- 1:19Speaker 2: it comes to sleep. But you know what, you make
- 1:21Speaker 2: the time, or your body will make the time for you,
- 1:24Speaker 2: and you don't have any control over that. So I'm
- 1:28Speaker 2: making the time and things seem to be knock on wood,
- 1:32Speaker 2: working out little things like sleep. Who knew that's why
- 1:36Speaker 2: I'm feeling good. Perhaps maybe you've got some reasons for
- 1:39Speaker 2: feeling good this morning. Something's bringing you some joy. Share
- 1:42Speaker 2: it with us, because that is contagious, and your joy

- 2:29Speaker 3: no injuries have been reported. Amazon Data Services is buying
- 2:34Speaker 3: George Washington University's Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashbourn
- 2:38Speaker 3: for four hundred and twenty seven million dollars. The university
- 2:42Speaker 3: can use the campus for up to five years, with
- 2:45Speaker 3: part of the proceeds funding a student endowment and some
- 2:49Speaker 3: staff receiving one time bonuses. DC Water has begun clean
- 2:54Speaker 3: up efforts after that massive sewage spill into the Potomac River.
- 2:58Speaker 3: CEO David Gaddis told DC Council the remediation could add
- 3:02Speaker 3: around ten million dollars to repair costs, with tree and
- 3:06Speaker 3: plant removal already underway. Montgomery County Public Schools piloting an
- 3:11Speaker 3: AI assisted safety system at three high schools that uses
- 3:16Speaker 3: existing cameras to flag potential threats. Officials say it will

- 3:24Speaker 3: expand a display dubbed the Jeffrey Epstein Walk of Shame,
- 3:30Speaker 3: has appeared near the White House. It parodies the Hollywood
- 3:34Speaker 3: Walk of Fame with star shaped stickers bearing the names
- 3:37Speaker 3: linked to the files that were released by the Department
- 3:40Speaker 3: of Justice in the Epstein case. And a new study
- 3:44Speaker 3: finds Americans lose one hundred and sixty six billion dollars
- 3:48Speaker 3: a year to the quote annoyance economy. This includes robocalls,
- 3:53Speaker 3: junk fees, and time spent on administrative hassles. Forecast today

- 4:34Speaker 2: seven point one WASHFM with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 4:36Speaker 4: For your morning mindset.
- 4:39Speaker 3: This is where we find a quote and share with
- 4:41Speaker 3: you to get you into a better headspace.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Jesse Cole is the guy behind the Savannah Bananas. He
- 4:46Speaker 2: took an incredible risk, lived on an air mattress for months,
- 4:50Speaker 2: in a closet and in a garage with this idea
- 4:54Speaker 2: that baseball could be more fun. And he says, be
- 4:58Speaker 2: the reason someone believes in the impossible. Jesse Cole. If
- 5:02Speaker 2: you don't know his story, google it. It's incredible. Be
- 5:05Speaker 2: the reason, he says, someone believes in the impossible. See
- 5:09Speaker 2: innovation right, coming up with something new that spreads faster
- 5:14Speaker 2: when it's wrapped in joy and you find something that
- 5:17Speaker 2: you're doing that brings you joy, and that's where true
- 5:20Speaker 2: innovation comes from. That's when your belief in the impossible
- 5:24Speaker 2: becomes reality. And if you are that reason for someone today,
- 5:28Speaker 2: it'll make all the difference. That's your morning mindset for
- 5:31Speaker 2: this Tuesday, the third day of March. If it helped you,
- 5:35Speaker 2: spread it, you can find it on the Toby and
- 5:37Speaker 2: chilipage at washfm dot com. It's also on our Insta
- 5:40Speaker 2: and remember if you've got something that inspires you pass
- 5:44Speaker 2: it this way, go ahead, shoot us a quick email,
- 5:46Speaker 2: Chili and I would love to share it in this space.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Coming up with your morning mindset, Toby and Chilly in
- 5:52Speaker 2: the Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Next, Toby, you had said that you use your medical
- 5:57Speaker 3: savings account for something pretty unique.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yes, very unique.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Maybe we can all learn something and think outside the box.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Dead lets and book By the way, this could be
- 6:08Speaker 2: very helpful for you. Hang on for more. I still
- 6:12Speaker 2: can't believe I can reimburse myself for this out of
- 6:15Speaker 2: my medical savings accounts. Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
- 6:18Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM.
- 6:20Speaker 3: What is it that you are now being able to
- 6:22Speaker 3: potentially write.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Off this Manuka honey that I'm having sent in from
- 6:26Speaker 2: New Zealand.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Manuka honey, Yes, the medicinal grade Manuka honey.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'm yes, absolutely. I was so turned on by this
- 6:35Speaker 2: honey when I was in the hospital and the wound
- 6:37Speaker 2: team at MedStar Georgetown said, here, apply this to the wound,
- 6:41Speaker 2: cover it and then we're gonna check back on it
- 6:43Speaker 2: in a couple of days. And when they checked back
- 6:46Speaker 2: on it, I'll be darned if the Bee honey from
- 6:49Speaker 2: New Zealand didn't actively work on fixing and fix this
- 6:53Speaker 2: wound that I had on my leg. I was shocked
- 6:55Speaker 2: by it. And so that started me going down the
- 6:57Speaker 2: rabbit hole. And you know what happens when I go
- 6:59Speaker 2: down rabbit holes, right, I start finding out new things.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And it turns out that people who consume this Manuka honey,
- 7:06Speaker 2: they have health benefits, and I was like, I need
- 7:09Speaker 2: those health benefits too, And so I was poking around
- 7:12Speaker 2: on this company's website and I found that if I
- 7:15Speaker 2: get a letter of medical necessity, that I can turn
- 7:19Speaker 2: in my receipts and get what I've spent back. Because
- 7:22Speaker 2: it's not cheap honey. It's not like the honey you
- 7:24Speaker 2: can go get it Aristeam.
- 7:26Speaker 3: There's not the bear shaped honey that you pour out
- 7:28Speaker 3: of a little jar. No, this is definitely very very
- 7:32Speaker 3: expensive honey. So it's good that you were thinking outside
- 7:35Speaker 3: the box and using the medical savings account for that.
- 7:38Speaker 3: And I think that this is also something that people
- 7:40Speaker 3: can learn and do some research. There are a lot
- 7:42Speaker 3: of things you may not think that you can use
- 7:45Speaker 3: your medical savings account for. I mean anything from even
- 7:48Speaker 3: a pregnancy test, to sunscreen. All of those things are
- 7:51Speaker 3: part of keeping you healthy and doing some sort of testing.
- 7:55Speaker 3: So band aids, first aid kids, those are all items
- 7:58Speaker 3: that you could use your medical savings account to purchase.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I knew about those, but I did not think that
- 8:04Speaker 2: I was going to be able to get this special
- 8:06Speaker 2: honey because of its benefits to help me overcome like
- 8:09Speaker 2: say type two and other things going on with my
- 8:12Speaker 2: GI track and whatnot. So you know what, I have
- 8:15Speaker 2: no excuses. Now I'm able to turn it in and
- 8:18Speaker 2: get that money back. So I better do my part,
- 8:20Speaker 2: which is to actually take it and not get lazy
- 8:23Speaker 2: about it. Who knew fill out a questionnaire, be told
- 8:26Speaker 2: it's medically necessary, and boom, there you go. The things
- 8:30Speaker 2: you learn when you wake up with Toby and Chilly
- 8:31Speaker 2: in the morning. Here on ninety seven point one WASHEFM,
- 8:34Speaker 2: and speaking of things to learn.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Coming up, we're going to update you on all the

- 10:09Speaker 3: and the dog before being shot by the trooper and
- 10:12Speaker 3: later dying in a hospital. The Washington Commanders have agreed
- 10:16Speaker 3: to pay one million dollars to resolve a lawsuit alleging
- 10:19Speaker 3: the team's former ownership misled fans about a toxic and
- 10:24Speaker 3: abusive workplace environment. Under the settlement, the team will also
- 10:28Speaker 3: maintain workplace reforms like anti harassment policies and HR protections.
- 10:33Speaker 4: And according to.
- 10:34Speaker 3: A recent survey, forty seven percent of Americans say they
- 10:37Speaker 3: go to bed earlier just to enjoy more time with
- 10:40Speaker 3: their morning coffee, and ninety three percent of coffee drinkers
- 10:44Speaker 3: say it really helps motivate them throughout the day. With
- 10:47Speaker 3: daylight saving time approaching, twenty eight percent say they plan
- 10:50Speaker 3: to drink even more coffee to cope with the shift forecast.
- 10:54Speaker 3: We've got a rainy day ahead, Hies around forty one

- 11:02Speaker 2: top of the hour right here with Toby and Chilly
- 11:04Speaker 2: in the morning on ninety seven point one wash FM
- 11:07Speaker 2: coming up in just minutes. There are three reasons why
- 11:13Speaker 2: getting older is a great thing. That's right, You're not
- 11:17Speaker 2: just older, you're wiser, and you're happier. Hang on, we'll
- 11:22Speaker 2: tell you more about this coming up, and if you
- 11:23Speaker 2: want to jump in, feel free. Eight sixty six nine
- 11:26Speaker 2: two seven forty three sixty one. That is the number.
- 11:29Speaker 2: We'll talk in minutes. A good question for you this
- 11:33Speaker 2: morning is how do you let go of all things
- 11:36Speaker 2: negative in your life? Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 11:38Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM eight six six
- 11:41Speaker 2: nine two seven forty three sixty one, or tap that
- 11:44Speaker 2: talk back microphone if you want to jump into this conversation. Older, wiser,
- 11:48Speaker 2: and it turns out happier. There are three big reasons
- 11:52Speaker 2: why older adults are happier Chilly Well.
- 11:55Speaker 3: The article we found kind of broke it down like this.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Number one, you have selective social circle. As you get older,
- 12:01Speaker 3: you narrow your friendships to those who share your interests
- 12:04Speaker 3: and boost your emotional wellbeing. Another reason is less self
- 12:08Speaker 3: focus and more altruism. Older people tend to think more
- 12:11Speaker 3: about others than they do themselves and helping other people
- 12:14Speaker 3: is link to greater happiness. And finally, you've got greater
- 12:18Speaker 3: perspective and emotional resilience. As we get older, we have
- 12:22Speaker 3: more experience and perspective, so daily stress feels less overwhelming
- 12:28Speaker 3: and emotional ups and downs have less impact.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Well, we've both been getting older. What do you think?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Do you?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Any of these ring true to you?
- 12:35Speaker 3: Every single one, especially number one. My social circle has
- 12:41Speaker 3: gotten so small because I'm only surrounding myself with people
- 12:45Speaker 3: who bring joy and positive energy into my life. I
- 12:49Speaker 3: cannot be dragged down by drama and negativity.
- 12:52Speaker 2: See. It kind of stinks for me because I've been
- 12:54Speaker 2: dealing with this health stuff, right, so I haven't been
- 12:56Speaker 2: able to be social in my social circles, and there
- 12:59Speaker 2: have been times been kind of down in the dumps
- 13:01Speaker 2: about that. But I know that they know that I've
- 13:03Speaker 2: got to get better, and then when I do get better,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I look forward to returning to the certain.
- 13:07Speaker 4: How do you let go of negativity?
- 13:09Speaker 2: I have been trying to focus less on me and
- 13:13Speaker 2: more on helping others, that whole altruistic sort of thing,
- 13:17Speaker 2: you know, like in number two that you had listed earlier.
- 13:19Speaker 2: It's therapeutic for my soul? Does that make sense? I'm
- 13:22Speaker 2: not trying to be over dramatic, and all of this
- 13:25Speaker 2: has given me better perspective. I think I know that
- 13:28Speaker 2: I didn't have it as a younger man, and I
- 13:30Speaker 2: think there's something to be said about with age comes
- 13:32Speaker 2: that perspective and experience. You know, what do you think
- 13:35Speaker 2: the numbers eight sixty six, nineteen seven, forty three sixty one.
- 13:38Speaker 2: How have you let go of negativity in your life?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Do any of these reasons older adults tend to be happier?
- 13:43Speaker 2: Ring true to you? We would love to hear your
- 13:46Speaker 2: thoughts coming up with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 13:49Speaker 2: There are three main reasons older adults tend to be
- 13:54Speaker 2: happier Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven
- 13:56Speaker 2: point one watch FM according to this article. Number One,
- 13:59Speaker 2: they're slet when it comes to who they hang with
- 14:01Speaker 2: in their social circles too. Less self focus and more
- 14:05Speaker 2: altruism thinking about others more than themselves. Number Three, greater
- 14:09Speaker 2: perspective and emotional resilience that comes with age.
- 14:13Speaker 3: So we wanted to know how do you let go
- 14:15Speaker 3: of negativity in your life?
- 14:17Speaker 4: Because we all have our own ways to do.
- 14:19Speaker 2: It, that's right. Eight sixty six nine two seven forty
- 14:22Speaker 2: three sixty one is the number, and talkback works too.
- 14:25Speaker 2: If you're listening on your iHeart app this morning, just
- 14:28Speaker 2: tap that red microphone and send us a microphoone speak
- 14:31Speaker 2: much Toby microphone and send us a quick voice note. Michael,
- 14:35Speaker 2: good morning and thanks for listening to Annapolis.
- 14:37Speaker 5: What do you do yoga?
- 14:39Speaker 2: I know it sounds cliche.
- 14:40Speaker 4: And corny, but they work.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Forny just got to quiet the mind and let things
- 14:44Speaker 3: roll off your back. Quieting the mind always a challenge,
- 14:48Speaker 3: which is why I can't go back to yoga.
- 14:50Speaker 2: You know what significant other is great at that yoga thing.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I have to believe there might be something there. I
- 14:56Speaker 2: just don't do yoga because I don't feel like I'm
- 14:58Speaker 2: flexible enough that hold downward dogg things scares me. Eight
- 15:00Speaker 2: six six ninety two seven forty three sixty one is
- 15:03Speaker 2: the number. Michelle, good morning, and thank you for listening
- 15:06Speaker 2: in Vienna. How do you let go of negativity?
- 15:08Speaker 3: I always try to keep my peace and make sure
- 15:10Speaker 3: my boundaries are respected.
- 15:12Speaker 4: I love that, and how do you do that? I
- 15:15Speaker 4: realized that I can't control other people.
- 15:17Speaker 5: And their behavior. But I can control their access to
- 15:20Speaker 5: my life.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Love that Michelle preach, no access to my life.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And all of God's people said a man. Yes, let
- 15:29Speaker 2: go of the negativity. How do you do it? Give
- 15:32Speaker 2: us a call. We're listening eight six six ninety two,
- 15:34Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one talkbacks wide open two. Tap
- 15:37Speaker 2: the red microphone and send us a quick voice note.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Let's all work together to stamp out the negativity when
- 15:43Speaker 2: it rears its ugly head in our lives. Can't wait
- 15:46Speaker 2: to hear what you have to add to the conversation.
