- 0:57are you? I am well? And yourself? I'm doing great. I
- 1:02can't complain. I tell you. The enemy be busy. But guess what
- 1:06that if he has not figured it out yet, he gonna figure it out
- 1:10soon. We don't quit over here, We don't give up. We don't
- 1:12We keep it pushing. That's right. I'm with you on that I'm so
- 1:17excited to be here on tonight. Thank you for the opportunity just to share
- 1:23tonight. I am a new author. My name is Danny Nicole, and
- 1:27I'm just out here. I want to just you know, share with the
- 1:32people that I'm here and I'm gonna be writing more books in the future,
- 1:38so I'm just glad to be here. I'm really glad to be here on
- 1:40tonight. So if you would please just tell us a little bit about Danny
- 1:49Nicole. Who is Danny Nicole before she became the author Danny McCole. Well,
- 1:56Danny Nicole is Danielle Hall. And I'm originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
- 2:02born and raised, and I now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. I've
- 2:07been here for about four years now and I love it here. I've always
- 2:12wanted to write, even as a little girl, but you know, growing
- 2:15up that just was not in my time. Writing for a living was just
- 2:21not something you do, that was like a hobby. So I am just
- 2:24excited I can finally share what's in my brain with the world. Wow,
- 2:30And you said you've always wanted to write, so what stopped you? I
- 2:38know, I know that writing is not the glamor career or the go to
- 2:46career. But what stopped you from allowing your voice to be heard? I
- 2:53would say part of it was me just to doubt, just doubting myself as
- 2:59a young black girl that because that there weren't many authors and writers and producers
- 3:06of color, especially women at that time, and so I just wasn't sure.
- 3:12I didn't have the resources. I wasn't sure who to reach out to.
- 3:15You know, life continued, I became a mom, I worked,
- 3:21and now the book is done and I'm like, Okay, I gotta move
- 3:25forward, Like I have to get this out here because I've had I've been
- 3:30holding this for about six years. It's time. It's time to just share
- 3:36with the world what I've wanted to share for a long time. So if
- 3:43you would please share the title of your book and just a little bit about
- 3:50your book without giving them too much, because we definitely want them to be
- 3:53able to go and grab that book. We want to get them. We
- 3:59want to get they. They mass to chime and so did they'd be like,
- 4:01oh, I need to go, Yes, yes, that is true.
- 4:05So the name, the title of the book is called Entangled with Deceit,
- 4:12and the main character, Victoria finds love. I mean, as women
- 4:17when we find the man of our dreams and we're smitten, and you know,
- 4:21we believe this is like what who God sent us? Right? However,
- 4:27this gentleman is full of lies and there's betrayal and there's deceit. And
- 4:32I want the audience to read the book because I'm sure the audience can relate
- 4:36anyone who's ever been in a relationship, if you haven't been in a relationship
- 4:43with lies, betrayal and DC I know you know someone who's been in a
- 4:46relationship, but there's been lies, betrayal and deceit. And so this novel
- 4:53is definitely got a twist. What you think Victoria is gonna find out about
- 4:58this new guy is more than you bargain for. You're gonna be surprised that
- 5:04it's even took this twist of turns. So this is this based on It's
- 5:12this based on some some some truth, some some life experiences or that all
- 5:17made up. It's it's fiction. It's a tiny bit of some truth,
- 5:26but it is a fiction novel. And I believe the audience will be surprised
- 5:31and excited about reading it, and they'll be in there'll be a sequel if
- 5:39that's what the audience wants. I know they'll want that. So that's already
- 5:43in the works. Part two, because it's gonna leave you one and a
- 5:46Part two definitely wow. So usually because I'm sure there's gonna be a lot
- 5:59of questions that are not gonna be answered within the book exactly, just a
- 6:06title and tangle, the tangle entangled with this up that title. And you
- 6:15know what's funny, I didn't come up with a title to the end.
- 6:17Like I wrote the book, I did not have a title to the end.
- 6:24I never have a title in the beginning. That's just always been that
- 6:27way. It's always been that way. And so when I came up with
- 6:32the title, I thought about you know what I thought about when I did
- 6:36the title, I thought about Data Pinkett Smith and this entanglement. And so
- 6:41when when I wrote it, I was like, Yeah, she really is
- 6:46gonna get entangled into something with this new guy, and it's gonna be unbelievable.
- 6:53And when you're read it, you're gonna be like, no way,
- 6:57she really gets entangled and and it just begins to unravel and he is not
- 7:03the man that she thought he was at all. Wow. Yes, yeah,
- 7:09that that that kind of like it's gonna be coming. Sounds like it's
- 7:14gonna be juicy. It's gonna be juicy. It's gonna be juicy, honey,
- 7:19and you're gonna be left like I need that second book, and hey,
- 7:24I'm gonna be here to deliver. This is gonna be my last book.
- 7:29I've already it's already in the works, it's already being written, so
- 7:33that once this has been released, I'm coming with the second one. I'm
- 7:39gonna give the audience what they want. Yes, you got some people saying,
- 7:44let me go get the pop points, so you definitely gonna have to
- 7:46go. You gonna gonna have to type it out. I'm saying, you
- 7:50got all those books in you because you've been waiting for a long time to
- 7:54get the holes out. So I know, So what is your write an
- 8:00environment? Like? What? What? What? What makes you just get
- 8:03into it and just start writing a lot of things. It's not just one
- 8:11thing. I mean, I love to read, I love to watch movies,
- 8:16and I've been watching a lot of movies later with some drama, and
- 8:20it just intrigues me because I want to know. Okay, what's gonna happen,
- 8:24like, you know, what's the end of gonna be? And then
- 8:28there's a cliffhanger, and then I have to wait, you know, uh
- 8:31for the second book or the part two of the movie to come out.
- 8:37And so I'm just inspired. It could be a movie, a book,
- 8:43a person in my life who's had an experience, and I kind of want
- 8:48to feed off of that and just write about it. It's just a couple
- 8:54of numerous things. It's like just not one thing. And I even have
- 8:58dreams. It's funny because a lot of my dreams of people I don't know,
- 9:05and it's like it's a movie like that I'm dreaming about and then I
- 9:11have to drive it down, like, oh, I need to write a
- 9:13book about that. So I got a couple of notebooks. I need to
- 9:18go ahead and bring them out of the closet and getting on on paper,
- 9:24like get the thoughts in the book notebook onto a paper, so I could
- 9:30publish the book definitely. Wow. So we have to let the audience know
- 9:37that the book is not yet out, but it will be out. So
- 9:41with that being said, what are you planning to do for this book?
- 9:48Are you planning on having a big release, a big launch. How how
- 9:54are you planning on introducing this book to the world. Well, the plan
- 10:01is to have a book launch. It would probably be virtual because I'm I'm
- 10:09in Charlotte, and I have family and friends that are kind of spread abroad.
- 10:13Most of my families back in Milwaukee, So but it would be a
- 10:18virtual And then since I'm here in Charlotte and I met friends and met a
- 10:24lot of people, you know, I might have to do a duel or
- 10:28one virtual one in person, but I definitely want to have a book launch.
- 10:33At this point, I'm thinking about self publishing, but if a publishing
- 10:37agency you know, comes differently, I'll consider it. I won't say no,
- 10:46But the self publishing is the route I plan on going because I've been
- 10:50putting to work in with the cover, you know, with the editing,
- 10:56like, I've been doing that work to make sure this book is what the
- 11:00audience will be anticipating and looking for in the near future real So it's in
- 11:07the editing stags. Right, You're definitely in a good area. You're You're
- 11:13you're in Charlotte, You're you're in the Black Mecca, because that is a
- 11:20I'm telling you there's a lot and you're in an author's environment because there are
- 11:24a lot of authors that's connected to the platform that it's in your area.
- 11:30I actually have the young lady that I was just talking about that's a part
- 11:33of my anithology. She's in that area. She's an author, poet,
- 11:39so there that that is an environment for authors. So I definitely, I
- 11:46definitely would challenge you to to to try to you know, tap into that,
- 11:50tap into that in that area. And I'm not far. I'm down
- 11:56here in Murder Beach, so I'm far and I'm telling you. Patrick patras
- 12:03Is is our resident book reviewer. She's also uh one uh the host on
- 12:13our network and she loves redbooks. So definitely I urge you to connect with
- 12:22some more of these different platforms so that we can kind of help share you
- 12:26and get you out there. Yeah, I'm excited for you on this turn.
- 12:33And you mentioned Milwaukee. I know Milwaukee, Milwaukee and North Carolina.
- 12:41What what made you decide to transition to North Carolina because that's a business.
- 12:46Yeah, and how about I know some I know people in Milwaukee as well.
- 12:50I know people in Milwaukee. One of my one of my college basketball
- 12:56teammates. She's from Milwaukee, but she made her home in Atlanta. And
- 13:00then one of the ladies that write for the magazine poetry section, she is
- 13:07is she in Milwaukee? I think she's in Milwaukee. She may not be
- 13:11in Milwaukee. She may be close to Milwaukee. But yeah, that that,
- 13:15that is a big difference. What made you transition, Well, one
- 13:20thing was the weather. The weather was a big uh. Yeah was a
- 13:26big Yes. It's the snow, the cold. I couldn't take it.
- 13:33I couldn't take it. And I came to visit Charlotte one time and I
- 13:35fell in love. So I said, this is where I have to be
- 13:39and I love it here. Uh, it's it's it's a beautiful place to
- 13:45be. And I'm excited that I'm doing what I'm doing now. You know,
- 13:50God has a purpose and God has you in a place for a reason.
- 13:54And I feel like Charlotte is the stepping stone to where I'm I'm about
- 13:58to go, Like I'm on my way there now, Like I'm not stopping.
- 14:05I'm gonna move forward, and I want to continue to grow. The
- 14:09next time you hear from me, it's gonna be two or three four books
- 14:13like we're gonna keep this going at it could be a movie. I see
- 14:16a movie in my future. I see some playwrights, So I'm thinking,
- 14:20big, Well do you introduce? Can you introduce some of the characters to
- 14:28us so we can kind of have an insight of who were gonna be meeting.
- 14:33Yes, So Victoria Willis is the main character. She's the young lady
- 14:39that is gonna fall for Ericson Sanders. And I want to let the audience
- 14:45know. Follow me on Facebook at Writer's Nook because on my Facebook page,
- 14:50you're gonna get introduced to the characters a lot more when you follow me,
- 14:54because I will start introducing the characters. I have a book trailer coming out
- 14:58that you will enjoy looking at. And my website is under construction as we
- 15:05speak, so everything about the book will be there at Writer's Nook. So
- 15:09you need to follow me so you can get the updates as I continue to
- 15:13move forward with the book process. Wow, Victoria and who is Victoria following
- 15:22for Ericson? Is his name? And when you see this brother, you're
- 15:31gonna say, Okay, I see why she's falling for him. Yes,
- 15:35ma'am, he is a delight. Yes he is So when you're not writing,
- 15:43what what else do you enjoy doing? Well? I enjoy reading.
- 15:50I'm always love to read. I got a I got a book, A
- 15:54box full of books. I need a bookcase. That's how I just collect
- 15:58them. I haven't read them all all, but I just love I love
- 16:03being captured into a story and and when I read the book, I just
- 16:07it's like I'm there. So reading is one of my hobbies. I enjoy
- 16:11spending time with my family and friends. I love shopping, so I call
- 16:17it retail therapy. So that's definitely on the top of the list of things
- 16:23to do here in Charlotte, definitely. And who are some of the authors
- 16:30that perhaps inspired you to go ahead and do it well? I read,
- 16:38I like Rootware, and I like Laura Roberts. But I'm also been inspired
- 16:45by some of the writers like Ava DuVernay and Shanda rhimes E Saay, Like
- 16:55these women have written, not have written manuscripts or playwrights for movies, for
- 17:02sitcoms, and so I'm just encouraged because women are in the forefront of writing
- 17:10and producing now, and I'm excited because I want to be part of that
- 17:15number, Like I want to be with them like I want to be in
- 17:18that same circle and I'm my name called out. So I'm really excited that
- 17:23women are stepping out. Black women particular, are stepping out of the comfort
- 17:29zone and giving me a sight something just look forward to when I'm writing my
- 17:36books as well. And again I have to remind you you are in the
- 17:41right place. You are in the right place, because there are some individuals
- 17:47I know in that area that also does playwriting. They do short films.
- 17:52They are a part of the what is it the short film They have some
- 18:00kind of short film festival or something. Matter of fact, young lady moved
- 18:06from New York to Charlotte and she is a part of the film the Black
- 18:11Film Festival that they have there in Charlotte. There's a lot of people in
- 18:17our live circle here that have taken their books and made them into short films
- 18:22and make them into plays. So have you even thought about that? No,
- 18:30I am now, yes, I am now, yes, ma'am.
- 18:37That that sounds great. That sounds like I'm gonna go ahead and add that
- 18:41to the list of right more things to do and to look forward to and
- 18:47to build upon as I build my brand as a as an author. And
- 18:52you know one thing I was just in the door author. Okay, let's
- 18:59change that. We're gonna put entrepreneurs. Yes, entrepreneur because once you when
- 19:04you become an author, you become a business. Yes, now I am
- 19:11because there's so many avenues that you can take your book like, you can
- 19:15do all types of things with your book. And I'm telling you keep hanging
- 19:19around this circle here you will find out because that's what we do. We
- 19:23try to collaborate. We try to find different things to do like that.
- 19:29You always should have at least two or three, maybe four or five.
- 19:33Some people stay seven different streams of income. If you got a book,
- 19:37you you you should have some other streams of income coming from that book as
- 19:41well. And I'm telling you if you follow us and you stay connected to
- 19:45us, you'll see yes, yes, well I'm connected you. You don't
- 19:48have to worry. Yes, they don't have to worry about that. You
- 19:52got me connected. Now you can't. You can't get rid of me.
- 19:55I'm here, I'm connected. Let's see. Your book is your brand,
- 20:00yes, but that's your bank book. What is what is one thing that
- 20:11you want your readers to take away from the things that you write what is
- 20:17it that you want them to get. I would say I want them to
- 20:25fall in love with the character and relate. I think, like with this
- 20:30book Entangle with DC. I know my audience will relate because, like I
- 20:36said earlier, if you haven't experienced entanglement and deceit, I know you know
- 20:41someone who has. And so I want my audience to be familiar with the
- 20:47book and let it come alive in the spirit, you know. I want
- 20:52them to get excited about it and you know, look forward to putting not
- 20:59even putting it down, like walking around the house, like just reading the
- 21:02book, because it's gonna be that good where you said, I can't let
- 21:07me finish it before I do anything else. And so I want my audience
- 21:11to get personable with the characters. That's why as I'm branding, I'm showing
- 21:18pictures of the characters so you can kind of put a face with the name
- 21:22when you drain or follow my Facebook page, and you'll get to definitely see
- 21:30who you'll be reading about. And I think that's something that'll be exciting for
- 21:34the audience to see. Wow. So when is the trailer dropping? So
- 21:42the book trailer, yep, the book trailer is dropping tonight. The book
- 21:47trailer is ready and I am going to post it on the writer's book Facebook
- 21:55page tonight, So stay tuned after it's broadcast and you're gonna see it,
- 22:04yes, ma'am, and you're gonna love it. They say somebody, they
- 22:10are gonna be burnt trying try to see. Then somebody to say burnt to
- 22:19a Chris So that means they're gonna be into it. They're gonna be into
- 22:23it. Look, look, you you you have some readers over here.
- 22:30They love to read, they love to support. So know that you might
- 22:34have some some some some some stockers. I'm gonna say they stocker. You
- 22:38might have some supporters that's gonna come and support what you're doing. Please again,
- 22:47we're not rushing you. But when do you think the book is gonna
- 22:49drop? This year? This year, twenty twenty three, before the year.
- 22:57We have to follow you to see when it's gonna drop for sure.
- 23:03Yep, I'm telling you once we see this trailer that we're gonna be all
- 23:07up on your page book. Yah. Right, that's the anticipation. Yes,
- 23:15I want you to anticipate it because when it drop pre order, yes,
- 23:19when it drops, be ready be ready. Yes, well, I
- 23:23am excited for you. I am excited for you. I just can't tell
- 23:30you how excited I am. I love sharing authors. This is my passion,
- 23:37this is what I love to do. I cannot wait till it drop.
- 23:41So I want to encourage everybody that's listening to make sure that you go
- 23:48over and follow the Writer's Nook yes on Facebook, so that you can see
- 23:56that trailer tonight. You can meet some of the characters inside of this book.
