Transcript
- 0:03Happy Thursday morning everybody.
- 0:07I am in Rochester, MN and I'm staying at the hotel connected
- 0:14right to the Mayo Clinic. Cannot be any nicer.
- 0:18Let's take a look. Here we are.
- 0:24It's really nice. Got the river over there.
- 0:30OK. Oh, you can see me right there.
- 0:33Hey, Herman, what's up? How come I'm not answering back?
- 0:38That's a mirror. Got a nice hotel room here,
- 0:40everybody. There we are.
- 0:42Herminator. You know me?
- 0:43I'm totally organized, have my clothes laid out, ready to go.
- 0:47But nice hotel room. OK, Just want to talk about the
- 0:57Indianapolis 500. I want to talk about, you know,
- 1:02Rodger Penske's interview with Jamie Little.
- 1:05Before we do that, I want to let you know that the Mayo Clinic
- 1:11has overwhelmed me. So did you know this book was in
- 1:16my hotel room? It was sitting here and the Mayo
- 1:20Clinic was started because of a tornado back in that, as I
- 1:25always say, early 1800s, in the early 1800s, there was a
- 1:29horrible tone tornado. And so some sisters, some nuns,
- 1:36basically they opened up like a hospital.
- 1:41And anyway, the Mayo's years later, they shook hands and
- 1:46said, OK, we're going to go in this with you.
- 1:48And, and the nuns, they raised the money for the first Mayo
- 1:52hospital and then he had two sons and they became super smart
- 1:58and they just became world famous for fixing everybody.
- 2:04You know what they're famous for?
- 2:06What the Mayo Clinic is famous for.
- 2:09Exactly what happened to Jughead?
- 2:10A lot of you have been asking about Jughead.
- 2:13He's, he's doing great. He's doing really good.
- 2:17They fixed him. But the Saint Louis hospitals
- 2:21have some of the best, you know, gastro doctors in the world.
- 2:28Saint Louis does. But Saint Louis said we we don't
- 2:31know what to do. We cannot fix you.
- 2:34So he came up here. Now imagine your hospital saying
- 2:37we can't fix you and you come to Mayo and they fix you.
- 2:41It was a close call with Jughead.
- 2:45I want to thank you for all the money that you donated.
- 2:48But Jughead is backed up 200 and something pounds.
- 2:51He's doing great, and they found a pill that stopped that chronic
- 2:57diarrhea, but it was a close call.
- 3:00They were worried about him. But your money went to the right
- 3:03place. I just want to let you know
- 3:04about the Mayo Clinic. That's what they're famous for.
- 3:07The Mayo Clinic, I'm going to be specific.
- 3:09Actually, I took a picture of it, and it's in this book where
- 3:14it says that we're famous. You know, what they're famous
- 3:16for is other hospitals not knowing what to do with you, not
- 3:20knowing how to fix it. You come here and the reason
- 3:23they're so good here is because they pick up the phone right
- 3:26away and they have a, a big staff that they talk to and they
- 3:32get ideas from all across the world and they're not afraid to
- 3:35do that. So anyway, I'm I'm happy to be
- 3:39here at the Mayo Clinic. And so I don't want to get in
- 3:43too much about me. I'm I'm a little embarrassed
- 3:47because somebody on X couple weeks ago, a month ago, they
- 3:54said, Hermie, you're going to drink a beer.
- 3:55And I said, no, here's what here's what got me.
- 3:59I'm not saying in trouble, but I'm a little embarrassed.
- 4:02Somebody said Google Kenny Wallace and Mayo Clinic.
- 4:05So I did. I googled Kenny Wallace and Mayo
- 4:08Clinic and I'm like, holy crap, all these articles and I want to
- 4:12thank you for your prayers for me, but I don't think it's that
- 4:15big, big of a deal. But so anyway, everything's
- 4:22going really good up here. And the reason I'm here, and I
- 4:25said it yesterday, the reason I'm here is because you can get
- 4:27done in two days here. In two days you can get done
- 4:32here. What will take you almost a year
- 4:35at home. Because he, like yesterday I
- 4:38woke, I met in the lobby at 7:15 yesterday morning and they, they
- 4:43did everything. You're in blood.
- 4:47They did a stress test, they did a plaque build up test.
- 4:52They they put me, they did everything.
- 4:56They did everything and more. But I got done around 3:00.
- 5:00So what we're here for is to make sure that my arteries are
- 5:03clear and to figure out what's going wrong with why.
- 5:07Sometimes I feel like I got food stuck right here.
- 5:12Why do I feel like I have food stuck right here?
- 5:14Sometimes, not all the time and sometimes I got to poop and I
- 5:21don't take a good poop. These are the best gastro
- 5:25doctors in the world. And we had a great talk
- 5:29yesterday. It was so fun to talk and and
- 5:32then do all these tests. So today's the big day.
- 5:36Today is where, Oh, by the way, they're checking mirrors.
- 5:39I'm hard of hearing. Did you know I said, my wife
- 5:43gets so mad at me, she's in the kitchen and she's talking and
- 5:46she goes and then she screams at me.
- 5:48I'm like, Kim, I can't hear you. So I'm I'm hard of hearing.
- 5:52So this morning we're going to do a couple more hearing tests.
- 5:56And I know I'm hard of hearing. My mom can't hear.
- 5:59My cousin Timmy cannot hear. My Uncle Gary cannot hear.
- 6:03It's it's hereditary. And it doesn't help that we
- 6:06listen to those loud old race cars.
- 6:09But tomorrow's coffee with Kenny.
- 6:10I will tell you what they said, 'cause I don't know what they're
- 6:12going to say yet. But what is really cool is you
- 6:15have an app on your phone and as soon as they do all these tests,
- 6:19you know your blood results, you know your urine results, you
- 6:22know your EKG results. That's the other one I missed.
- 6:25We did EKG and you know all this stuff like in 15 minutes, right
- 6:30on your phone. And then the doctor, the main
- 6:33doctor, Doctor Lundstrom. Carl Lundstrom is my doctor.
- 6:37He's awesome. Look him up.
- 6:39So he gathers it all up and he says, OK, here's what we're
- 6:42going to do. And I have a feeling he already
- 6:44knows all about me. I don't want to end with the,
- 6:49the mail like this. We've, we've taken a camera down
- 6:53my esophagus. We put a, we've had two
- 6:56colonoscopies, you know, one when I turned 40 and we put a,
- 7:00we did a colonoscopy 4 years ago.
- 7:04So we've done it all. And, and I do want to say this,
- 7:08the camera went right down my throat, so there's no problem
- 7:11there, OK, There's no blockage. The camera went right down my
- 7:15throat, So camera went down my throat.
- 7:19So who knows? But I have an idea.
- 7:22And he's, he's already given me some great advice.
- 7:25Damn. Almost 8 minutes in and I, I
- 7:27still want to talk about the Indianapolis 500.
- 7:30OK, we'll do a coffee with Kenny tomorrow and I'll tell you what
- 7:34the results are and what we're going to do to help me.
- 7:37I will say that he's already given me some great advice about
- 7:41life, mind over matter and being healthy.
- 7:46Some of the stuff I already knew, but it's good to hear from
- 7:48one of the best doctors in the world, Carl Lundstrom.
- 7:54OK, I'm I'm a little biased because I like Rodger Penske and
- 8:01I'm telling you that straight up.
- 8:03I'm a little biased because my brother raced for Rodger Penske
- 8:06his whole life. I'm a little biased because I
- 8:10drove for Rodger Penske and I tested for him.
- 8:13Now, when I say I drove for him, I drove the Red Dog truck.
- 8:16It was Earl, Earl Barben's truck.
- 8:18But somehow when they did that big 50th anniversary and they
- 8:22invited all the Penske drivers, they said they wrote me a check.
- 8:28So I was at the Penske party for 50 years and I did do a lot of
- 8:33testing for Big Brother that didn't want to test the Blue
- 8:36Deuce. So I did test the blue deuce at
- 8:40at Talladega and I did a lot of IROC testing for Jay Signori.
- 8:48Little more Hermioneer than you think, a little bit more to me
- 8:51than you know. It's just hard to remember and
- 8:56tell it all. So I've explained to you, I'm a
- 8:58little biased to Roger, but one thing I know about Rodger
- 9:02Penske, as he is always first class, and I know this for a
- 9:07fact. If you are a Penske Racing team,
- 9:11you are not allowed to cheat. And if you cheat, you did it on
- 9:16your own. Rodger did not know about it.
- 9:19OK, I want to be clear about that.
- 9:21Rodger Penske is a man of integrity.
- 9:23All of his companies, he's got thousands and thousands of
- 9:27employees. So you got to know the man
- 9:29Rodger first, OK? This is why Rodger Penske fired
- 9:35Tim Syndrich and another person because they used too much boost
- 9:41last year and got in trouble about it a week later when
- 9:46IndyCar opened up their computer system and they saw that the
- 9:51IndyCar guys at Penske Racing used too too much of their boost
- 9:58during the race. So that didn't look good for
- 10:01Team Penske and then this year. So Tim Cindrich has already been
- 10:07on XI. Want to be clear about that.
- 10:10You know, a lot of people make fun of social media, but it
- 10:12looks like everybody's finally accepting it.
- 10:13Now. Tim Cindrich is in a very high
- 10:18position, and he got right on X yesterday.
- 10:21And he said, my conscience is clear.
- 10:25So I believed him. And Tim's a good man as far as
- 10:28his son Austin driving the number 2.
- 10:32I think Rodger Penske can separate the two.
- 10:36That's my opinion. But I'll say this, Rodger
- 10:43Penske's a businessman and he's, and I'm sure he can give a
- 10:46seminar. I'm sure Rodger Penske can give
- 10:49a seminar on how to clean up a mess.
- 10:52Usually they say what to clean up a mess.
- 10:54You got to fire everybody to, you know, it's like cutting out
- 10:59cancer. You got you got to cut off a lot
- 11:00more stuff than you want. And usually that's what they
- 11:03say. I think Rodger knows what he's
- 11:06doing and I think the region, I believe Rodger likes Tim
- 11:11Cindrick and I but I believe Rodger said, OK, look, you know
- 11:15this is going to go bad. There's a lot involved.
- 11:18You're talking about the Indianapolis 500.
- 11:21Rodger owns Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
- 11:24Rodger runs basically it. Listen, if it weren't for Rodger
- 11:29Penske, I don't even know if IndyCar would exist.
- 11:33Rodger Penske has saved IndyCar over and over because nobody has
- 11:38enough money. Nobody knows how to do it like
- 11:40Rodger. So Rodger is a man of integrity.
- 11:45He did what he thought he needed to do to, you know, fix this.
- 11:49He also, Rodger Penske also called all the team owners a
- 11:52couple days ago. Listen closely.
- 11:55Rodger Penske called all the team owners and said, guys, you
- 12:01know, there's a lot. I want to keep the integrity in
- 12:04this sport. Here's what I did.
- 12:06And they all seem to be pretty happy with what Rodger did.
- 12:10He's starting last. And the reason that they're
- 12:14starting last is because the cars qualified.
- 12:17They were in the top 12. The reason the Indy 500 last
- 12:23year is a real win is because the car went through tech.
- 12:27It passed tech and I want to give you my opinion on the the
- 12:35the penalty itself and what it is.
- 12:39There was a great article. I mean, it was incredible,
- 12:42incredible detail about what what is in question this this
- 12:48piece that is considered illegal.
- 12:51I'm going to compare it to this. It's it's like having, it's like
- 12:56having your decal on in the wrong spot.
- 13:00There is absolutely no advantage.
- 13:02It is just a single source part. The single source part I guess
- 13:07got messed with at Delara or whoever makes the cars.
- 13:11OK, Somebody makes the cars, something happened.
- 13:17But because I'm a racer and I'm a fabricator and a mechanic,
- 13:21it's like, OK, this is one of these deals where that's
- 13:27illegal, but it is definitely not a competitive advantage.
- 13:33It's like having a decal on in a wrong spot has nothing to do
- 13:38with the car going nothing. It it, it's, it's a piece of the
- 13:44back of the IndyCar that if you wreck it keeps you from smashing
- 13:48the motor in. It's I forgot the damn name of
- 13:51it. Respond right here.
- 13:54But I listened to the whole interview with Jamie Little and
- 13:56Rodger Penske and it was fantastic.
- 13:59Good job Jamie Little, even better job Rodger Penske for
- 14:04answering everything perfectly. Rodger Penske has addressed
- 14:08everything perfectly and that's why he's the captain.
- 14:10He's so damn smooth. He's like a song.
- 14:13Rodger Penske is a smooth operator.
- 14:19So the final synopsis with me and Rodger Penske's IndyCar
- 14:25drama is this. It was a single source part,
- 14:30meaning that you're only supposed to get it here and it's
- 14:32supposed to look like this. Now, if I'm wrong, if I'm wrong
- 14:36and I'm full of tell me, respond right here.
- 14:39I'm doing my best with what I think.
- 14:41I've followed the whole story. I've read the piece that is in
- 14:46question and at the very end of the synopsis that I read, it
- 14:51said isn't an advantage and all the engineers and everybody said
- 14:55no, it's not an advantage. It just shouldn't have been
- 14:58using that. Whatever it is, Intunader or
- 15:04whatever the hell it is. Basically, it's a bumper.
- 15:07OK, I'm going to dumb it down for y'all.
- 15:10It's a damn bumper. It's a rear bumper for an
- 15:12IndyCar. All right, everybody, I hope you
- 15:18all have a great, great Thursday.
- 15:22It's already gone too long. 15 minutes.
- 15:25Hope you made it this far.
