- 1:11They were honored to be on your show.
- 1:13Okay.
- 1:14So Casper is my first music, person.
- 1:17So he's gonna be, this is gonna be an interesting interview.
- 1:20So I'm gonna tell you a little bit about Casper and Casper's gonna fill in if I missed anything
- 1:25significant, significant Casper is a reggie and army, a recording artist.
- 1:30And, he reads, he released 23 albums.
- 1:35Wow.
- 1:35That many.
- 1:37Internationally so hot which is distributed by AMG And Universal Group, you make it, from the
- 1:47upcoming R and B album, turn it up.
- 1:52You've, recorded with some, pretty high level people, cocoa tea, Freddie McGregor and Chip
- 2:00Fu.
- 2:00Is that right?
- 2:01Chip Food.
- 2:02Okay.
- 2:03And and you got the best regular song at the Academia Music Awards in California for pro 1.
- 2:13Wow.
- 2:14So you've done a lot.
- 2:14And, you've appeared on that
- 2:19channel.com
- 2:20show WhatsApp and the Nikki Clark show, which is where I met you in 2006.
- 2:26So thank you for being here.
- 2:27I don't know if there's anything.
- 2:28I know there's a law
- 2:29lots more
- 2:30in but is there anything in your in your, bio that you'd like people to know, that you
- 2:36missed?
- 2:37Yeah.
- 2:37The biggest one was, hit the billboard magazine in 2007 team, and it was, Canada's 150th
- 2:47birthday.
- 2:47So my face got in there.
- 2:50So it was very nice because, you know, you you your face was up with Katie, Perry, Justin
- 2:55Bieber, Drake, Drake, all of them.
- 2:57Right?
- 2:58Of of course.
- 2:59My biggest, because I've done a lot of independent magazines Mhmm.
- 3:03Through the years of regular magazines, whatever.
- 3:06This is my biggest accomplishment, and it's been my 10 year life goal to get into it.
- 3:13It's interesting.
- 3:14So you had you had that as a goal of something you wanted to achieve.
- 3:18So you know what?
- 3:19I I would like to know, and I, you know, obviously, and we're gonna speak about the
- 3:23obvious, you know, you're Canadian, and you're not coming from the Caribbean and you're you're
- 3:30not, you know, you're say you're singing reggae, and RMB, right, which we know that
- 3:36that's I'm sure that's the first thing you get asked when you get interview.
- 3:39So tell me what happens, when you go out there and you talk about the fact that, you know, you
- 3:46you you sing in this this arena.
- 3:48What?
- 3:48What happens?
- 3:50But do you start from the beginning, or do you wanna know what?
- 3:52You you take me wherever you think is a good place to
- 3:55go, Casper.
- 3:58Back in the day in, my hometown, did you make a hand filled with come up pick tomatoes and
- 4:04apples?
- 4:05And I would have to learn their dialect, their 512, you know, as you have your own.
- 4:10Right?
- 4:11Absolutely.
- 4:12And, that's the way I could communicate with them.
- 4:15But then once we communicated, I got a cable machine cassette tapes of what we had at the
- 4:23time.
- 4:24We didn't have no CDs.
- 4:25No.
- 4:26Which makes us old here, and I don't know how that
- 4:29Well, a a wee bit, but we won't admit that.
- 4:33But that's how long I've been in the game.
- 4:37But what we did was we put on the carryout machines, and we, recorded tape, double plates,
- 4:44kinda tape things.
- 4:46And the Jamaicans were like, Yo, you sound great.
- 4:49You sound like one of us, and that's when I realized I hadn't.
- 4:55And but then I kept practicing and practicing rewinding fast forwarding the tapes to learn
- 5:02what they were saying because you can't just get it at the beginning, you know, being the
- 5:06Canadian white dude, you know?
- 5:08And then all of a sudden, boom, just came naturally, and then the guy's like, you know
- 5:13what?
- 5:13You're great.
- 5:14When you when you get you should go to Toronto and pursue your career.
- 5:19And this is exactly what I did.
- 5:20I left with a demo and a dream
- 5:24So where where you said that little town, where were you from that you would, it's it was the
- 5:29farm, people that came up to work on the farm.
- 5:32So where where were you?
- 5:34It's picton, Ontario.
- 5:35Oh, you were in picton.
- 5:36Okay.
- 5:36Cause I'm in Niagara and I know a lot of people come up, to work on the farms here also in
- 5:41Niagara.
- 5:42Exact same thing.
- 5:43Right?
- 5:44So, okay, so you prior to that, had you had any musical aspirations?
- 5:49Had you like singing?
- 5:51Had you, you know
- 5:52That's the funny part.
- 5:54In school, I sing, inquires somewhat.
- 5:58But when I hit high school and stuff, I didn't even do a music course.
- 6:02I didn't even get into music.
- 6:04It was just in me just just I just was singing, but I didn't know what I was singing.
- 6:11You know, I would grab a old record or R and B record or reggae record and just put it all
- 6:17together, but I had no idea that I was building up for this.
- 6:22So tell me the first time you actually got out there and sang, can you remember my first time
- 6:27when you got on stage?
- 6:29Or Sure.
- 6:31It's a long time ago, but I'm curious.
- 6:33What was that like for you?
- 6:35Well, let me let me push it back once.
- 6:37We brought when I brought out my award winning album, and then at that time, it wasn't award
- 6:43winning.
- 6:43It was just an album.
- 6:44But what we did was we didn't put my face on it.
- 6:48Is like a ghost.
- 6:49So people would think I was a ghost.
- 6:51So but so what I'm saying is, prior to what I'm talking about is people were shocked when they
- 6:57saw the white Duke get on stage.
- 6:59They're looking for the black guy.
- 7:01Right.
- 7:02Because the radio was playing the track when you wind it, and going off crazy, but they had
- 7:07no idea I was white because I never showed my face in anything I did.
- 7:11Interesting.
- 7:12And I did it that way because I didn't wanna be judged because back back in that day, nobody
- 7:19wanted to produce a white red hair in his No one wanted to even promote a white reganese.
- 7:24We I had it pretty hard.
- 7:26Nowadays, it's different.
- 7:28You know, got rappers that are white.
- 7:30You got some regular artists now that are white that are doing it.
- 7:34They might have had a hard time.
- 7:35No questions.
- 7:37But back in the day, when I was coming up, black was black and white was white.
- 7:42It was a very kind of, protective kind of thing.
- 7:46Hi, Robert.
- 7:46Once I saw, at Lamport Stadium, because at, with Karabana, because, you know, I'm Trinidad
- 7:52Adi and I went to, watched the king and queen bands.
- 7:56And it was interesting because I could tell you my reaction because I'm a trainee, obviously,
- 8:00you know, you know, calypso since I could walk, And then there was a German guy, and he
- 8:07obviously was white, and he got up there.
- 8:11And he sang a calypso, and he blew us all away.
- 8:14And we were like, what the heck is this?
- 8:16But boy was he good?
- 8:19So once he performs, everybody went, wow.
- 8:23You know, because you didn't expect it.
- 8:24Again, that expectation, right, like, for a particular kind of music.
- 8:29You expect, you know, if if you're Colombian, you're gonna, you know, be from Trinidad,
- 8:33you're gonna be probably for Indian or If you're reggae or RMB, you're gonna, you know,
- 8:39and really, I think music is from, I would say, the soul.
- 8:43It's something that comes from you.
- 8:45Exactly.
- 8:46So, you know, it's now the messengers of reggae music is coming from different races.
- 8:53You know what I mean?
- 8:54There's there's the Jamaicans, of course.
- 8:56There's the whites.
- 8:57I mean, we've got a niece.
- 8:59A lot of different ones.
- 9:00Even trainee are singing regular music.
- 9:02You know?
- 9:03Fine.
- 9:03Absolutely.
- 9:04You gotta, blend up things for sure.
- 9:07But it's funny you talk about Trinidad is I'm actually working with I don't know if you know
- 9:12the name connector.
- 9:15I've heard of the name.
- 9:16Yes.
- 9:16Connector.
- 9:16Yes.
- 9:17We'll be on a combination this year.
- 9:19Nice.
- 9:20It's gonna be, like, a dance So I'm actually pushing into the turn of data inside of 2
- 9:26because I just finished doing an African interview, TV interview, and I'm pushing in the
- 9:31African side.
- 9:32We I've already done the Jamaican, so now I'm just trying to go for the globe.
- 9:37Okay.
- 9:38Nice.
- 9:39You sound they say, yo, you sound great.
- 9:42You sound like one of us, whether you're Jamaican or turn it that in, or or, African
- 9:48people are listening to me, and they're like, you're so ethnic.
- 9:53That's why I'm doing the Bob Marley thing is because people say, you sound like Bob Marley.
- 9:59Right.
- 10:00You sound like the real deal.
- 10:01Now I you know, I'm gonna talk a little bit.
- 10:05What I find interesting is I did when I did my grad school, I actually focused on, cultural
- 10:13diversity as one of my thesis.
- 10:16And we talked I did a lot of courses on, obviously, you know, the black culture in the
- 10:21US, and they talked a lot about, obviously, where where things like, rap came from.
- 10:28And, with with reggae, I'm gonna tell you what I know about Trondland.
- 10:33I'm sure you know, probably know more about the origination of Klipso than I do.
- 10:37But with wrapping, obviously, initially, it got started.
- 10:41And, you know, and there's different terms that I, I'd learned back then.
- 10:45That people, when, when it came out of something, obviously, not adverse, but
- 10:50something beautiful came out of it, which was music.
- 10:53So people couldn't, obviously, the slaves couldn't talk, so the masters could understand,
- 10:59so they kind of develop a a way of being able to communicate.
- 11:03So only the other slaves would understand what they were saying.
- 11:06And then out of that kind of came the art form eventually, of wrapping.
- 11:12Now my understanding of reggie is not so good.
- 11:15So you tell me about what what you know about reggie or, you know, Well, the roots,
- 11:20it's funny because a lot of people think hip hop was generated by just hip hop.
- 11:25The roots of hip hop is rap music.
- 11:28Biggie Small is one of the biggest hip hop artists.
- 11:31He comes straight at Jamaica.
- 11:33I didn't know that.
- 11:34You know what I mean?
- 11:36So it's all influenced, and now we can even go as far as this.
- 11:39This is crazy.
- 11:41Country music and reggae are close.
- 11:44Because acoustic version acoustic version.
- 11:48Oh, okay.
- 11:49And a lot of reggae artists, same thing.
- 11:52Do a lot of country crossovers.
- 11:54If you notice a lot of rig guaranteed, you can probably turn it down in artists too.
- 11:58Do a lot of covered songs.
- 12:00Yes.
- 12:00They do.
- 12:01You know, so that jaundered, but the hip hop comes from the reggae.
- 12:07So it's all in it it's all in 1.
- 12:10So the creation of of reggae music is a very strong music.
- 12:18Not only because of the the instrumental instrumental on the production, but the message
- 12:24behind Reagan.
- 12:25So let's talk about the message because I think that's the important part, I think, that a lot
- 12:30of people don't know you know, I I think, unfortunately, on on sometimes it's on the
- 12:36radio, you hear a lot of, you know, swearing, squaring, and you know, putting down of women,
- 12:42you know, women, those type, all the things that we're isolating against.
- 12:46Right.
- 12:46So with reggie, tell me kind of the core of of the messaging that a lot of regular music is
- 12:54about.
- 12:54Because a lot of times, you know, I know I'm turning that in.
- 12:58I can get the slang, and I can I still miss it?
- 13:01Tell me what's what's the content of a lot of songs that you've written or the ones that you
- 13:06know.
- 13:07Well, what I've written is a lot of judge out tunes, had god tunes to inspire, a youth.
- 13:14So it's basically forget about me right now.
- 13:16Let's go, Bob.
- 13:17Let's go, Peter Tosh.
- 13:18Let's go, Greg, guys.
- 13:20Let's go, Coco T, friend, with Gregor, that all have a certain message, and there's a just sent
- 13:26message, you know, save the people, save the slaves from Africa, whatever, but it's more of
- 13:33a a message to the governments, and the leaders of Babila, which is Babila, is the government
- 13:41for is has their name in Jamaica.
- 13:44Mhmm.
- 13:44So it's that inspiration saying, we don't need to be slaves no more.
- 13:49We don't need to live in poverty no more.
- 13:52We don't and that's the message that regular music's trying to get across, I would expect.
- 13:58You know?
- 13:59So it's basically just inspiring the kids and the youth and the people to go on with their
- 14:07life with god, but also know that they can do it.
- 14:12Mhmm.
- 14:12And don't let Bobby learn the government say you can't do it or the the haters or the
- 14:19criticize people saying you can't do it.
- 14:21I know this through experience.
- 14:23I've been hated through this industry left and right.
- 14:27But the same people that hated on me are the same people that love me.
- 14:31So tell me about that because that's hard.
- 14:33Right?
- 14:34Yeah.
- 14:34Because you, you know, when you're starting off in anything, you know, you know, you're you and
- 14:40you have the passion.
- 14:41You know what you wanna do.
- 14:42It's kinda like when I start to speak, it's kinda like.
- 14:45And then you're, you know, you're you're you know what you wanna do.
- 14:48You know, you have to professional craft, those types of things, but you have to have a belief
- 14:52in yourself.
- 14:53When you went out there and you were, like, you know, kind of judged because of what when they
- 14:58finally saw you and stuff like that.
- 14:59Not kind of judged.
- 15:01Judge badly.
- 15:03Judge badly.
- 15:04Yeah.
- 15:05So what?
- 15:05It wasn't it wasn't a judge for because I wasn't good enough.
- 15:09People knew I was good.
- 15:11Okay.
- 15:11Time I did it, I did acapella, and I killed the crown.
- 15:14Right?
- 15:14It was affecting my skin color.
- 15:17Okay.
- 15:17Okay.
- 15:19As you know, I'm white, and you can see I'm like, but at the end of the day, to the fans
- 15:23that are out there and the audience listeners that you have here, I am a white, reggae
- 15:28artist, freshenal white regulators, but my soul has a black feel to
- 15:34me because
- 15:37where my music comes from, straight from the soul, the heart.
- 15:43So I don't believe that music has any color.
- 15:46In any genre.
- 15:48Right.
- 15:48But our society says it does, but we're here to change that.
- 15:53And and I've I think I've done an amazing job with that because a lot of people respect me as
- 15:59yourself, Nikki Clark.
- 16:01Oh, everyone.
- 16:02Right?
- 16:03Actually, Nikki Clark is the one that got me the Carissa Michelle.
- 16:06Interesting.
- 16:07I see she's, she's doing some big things.
- 16:10I have connected with her lately, which is amazing.
- 16:12So nice to see.
- 16:14She's doing amazing and, you know, and I root for her big time.
- 16:18Mhmm.
- 16:19But it's like, It's like they start to see not the color.
- 16:27They start to see what this quite sounds.
- 16:30Like us.
- 16:32Not only does he sound like that in our music, but he speaks Jamaican.
- 16:37Mhmm.
- 16:38And that's where they get it.
- 16:40Because I remember having a conversation with a few people and say, yo, you sound you sound
- 16:46more Jamaican than me, and I'm Jamaican, you know, It's weird, but that's the truth.
- 16:51You know, when I really start speaking Jamaican, I start speaking Jamaican.
- 16:55I w when I was in the African interview, they had to tell me to slow down my vocals because
- 16:59they couldn't understand what I was saying because I was saying best because sometimes I
- 17:04do that.
- 17:05But that to your your question is that it, yeah, it was hard.
- 17:11It, like, the skin color was the key to it all, but after 16 years apart, well, 20 years, we we
- 17:19we we put it back that far.
- 17:21That's a long time.
- 17:23So how did you keep connected to the passion for the music?
- 17:27Because I know when you're trying to do something, that's different, and you are doing
- 17:31something different out there.
- 17:34Right?
- 17:34You are, you know, you're not saying I'm gonna go talk, you know, same country in Western.
- 17:39Oh, I'm gonna you know, do a, you know, you could, you could have picked a lot of
- 17:43different, genres of music, but you picked reggie and you picked r and d.
- 17:47Let let me stop you at the pick.
- 17:50Like I tell everyone, it chose me.
- 17:53I didn't pick it.
- 17:54If that was the case Mhmm.
- 17:55I would have picked country.
- 17:57I would have picked rock.
- 17:58But it because I used to I'll when I first started out, I sang.
- 18:03I listened and sang soft rock.
- 18:08Okay.
- 18:09That's what I liked at the beginning, but reggae chose me.
- 18:13So when people say, Did you pick it?
- 18:16I said, no.
- 18:17It shows me.
- 18:20No.
- 18:20When you say it shows you,
- 18:22the spirit chose me, like, I had to I went to Jamaica at the age of eighteen.
- 18:27Didn't know why I was really there.
- 18:28Yeah.
- 18:28I know what I'm saying.
- 18:29Like, in music, I had no idea.
- 18:32What level I would be on.
- 18:35So when I went to Jamaica at the age of eighteen, I went there and I cut a first dump
- 18:43plate, which is a there's a song.
- 18:46And everybody was amazed by it because they're like, yo, you're white, Canadian, but you sound
- 18:51like us.
- 18:52Again Yeah.
- 18:53Yeah.
- 18:55And then all of a sudden, they took me in like a king, and I was I was blown away because I
- 19:00was like, I'm no one.
- 19:02I'm just wrong tunnel.
- 19:03I wasn't even Casper at that time.
- 19:06That's the truth.
- 19:07Yep.
- 19:08Yeah.
- 19:08But it's crazy.
- 19:10How it works because I've been there over 9 times.
- 19:14And for long periods of stretch, one time I was there for 2 months, but it's like weird because
- 19:20you go down not knowing who you are, but after that night's time, you go down like a king.
- 19:28You go down like Kessler, you start performing with certain artists.
- 19:32You go down in studios.
- 19:33You work with Coco T, Freda McGregor.
- 19:35It's like, a dream come true because at the age of thirteen, I was listening to their music.
- 19:42Wow.
- 19:42Interesting.
- 19:43So when you when you write, right, when you tell me Tell me what your creative process, or
- 19:49do you have a creative, like, is it a particular way?
- 19:51Is it time of day?
- 19:53You know, I know when I write, I have to, you know, this certain things that I do.
- 19:57And then if I know I'm not in flow, I just will I'll just pack it up if I'm trying, and it's
- 20:01not it.
- 20:02You're doing it right because once you're not in flow and he's out here, Yeah.
- 20:06Yes.
- 20:07Yep.
- 20:08So how do you how do you do it?
- 20:09How do you do it?
- 20:10How do you get your inspiration for your songs?
- 20:14Well, first, they all might to god, but at the end of the day, sometimes they all Sometimes I
- 20:23wake up at 3 in the morning, and that's my hugest time right there.
- 20:27I'll look up 3 in the morning and write something down.
- 20:30And then and then, maybe even record a piece of it.
- 20:33That's the beauty of having your own studio, of course.
- 20:36You can just walk downstairs or whatever and just jump on and Yep.
- 20:40Yep.
- 20:40Well, mine's upstairs, but, yes, I jumped on and do my thing.
- 20:47And then I come back to it later and write the song.
- 20:50Sometimes the song can be bright in 10 minutes.
- 20:52Sometimes the song can write in a week.
- 20:54It all depends what what creativity is.
- 20:56You you know that as a book.
- 20:58Right?
- 20:58Mhmm.
- 21:00You don't you get right as blocked sometimes.
- 21:02Right?
- 21:04But I have over I'm thinking now Internationally, as you heard the how many
- 21:09albums, I think I have 350 songs.
- 21:14That I've written and produced, not just written.
- 21:17So you also produce your own music?
- 21:20Yeah.
- 21:21I produce not only my own music, but others too.
- 21:24Oh, you do.
- 21:25As part of my business.
- 21:27And do you produce other reggae artists at R and B or just different genres of music.
- 21:32Yes.
- 21:32I do.
- 21:33Okay.
- 21:33Okay.
- 21:34Okay.
- 21:35Hop on the reggae.
- 21:37Sometimes some dance Maybe, well, now this we're gonna be producing Silca.
- 21:41So
- 21:42Oh, so if there's somebody's listening, right, and They're on a journey, whether it's a music
- 21:48journey or just, you know, they wanna do something different.
- 21:52Right?
- 21:52And they and they have that voice in their head.
- 21:55We all have it.
- 21:56Right?
- 21:56You know,
- 21:57talk about that voice.
- 21:58Yeah.
- 21:59That voice, it says, well, you know,
- 22:00who do you think you are?
- 22:01It's amazing.
- 22:02It's amazing.
- 22:03Yeah.
- 22:03Yeah.
- 22:04It can be a scary voice too because it's one that says, hey, do it.
- 22:09Take away your fears and go for it.
- 22:11Right?
- 22:12Right.
- 22:12Right.
- 22:12And then there's the other part that says, oh, boy.
- 22:15What if I do it?
- 22:17Exactly.
- 22:18There goes the doubt.
- 22:19Right?
- 22:19Yeah.
- 22:19Yeah.
- 22:20So it's it's that so what would you say to someone, whether they're they're beginning
- 22:23artists that maybe are tuned in today because they know you're gonna, you know, be on the
- 22:27show or somebody kind of starting on a journey that they're it's a big one, and, and, and
- 22:33they're scared.
- 22:34What what would you say to them?
- 22:35I'd say that's okay because being scared is key to success.
- 22:40People always say, y'all y'all gotta be brave and the best.
- 22:43But being scared can actually help you.
- 22:47Not scared enough for not to do it, of course.
- 22:49Mhmm.
- 22:50Being at least nervous or scared is that inspiration of saying, okay.
- 22:56This is new and different.
- 22:58I should try Right?
- 23:01So what I tell most few listeners or TV stuff I do, I say this is my slogan is If I come up
- 23:10with an idea, it's just an idea.
- 23:14First, the fear steps in the doubt steps in as we know the the voices, but then you have to
- 23:21sit back and make a decision.
- 23:26Make the impossible possible and then go and make it reality.
- 23:31And that's what I do.
- 23:33So, yes, you can be scared.
- 23:34You can doubt, but once you pass that part of it, then you're on your way to success to to to
- 23:44your goal.
- 23:45So that's what I would tell at anyone because I always that question for some reason.
- 23:50But it's a powerful question because in business of any sense, that's just the way it
- 23:56is.
- 23:57Everyone can be scared and dealt at first because you're not sure if you're gonna do it.
- 24:01I remember when I first recorded my first album here when you wind it, and I was terrified
- 24:08because I'm like, what are they gonna think about me?
- 24:11How are they gonna to see how, you know, what are they gonna do?
- 24:17But the crazy part is I brought it out, and I started in karaoke bars at first.
- 24:22Right.
- 24:23Right.
- 24:23You know, back in the day.
- 24:24So you're one of those guys that would go to Carrieoka and everybody would say, oh, I'm not
- 24:28following him.
- 24:29Yeah.
- 24:29But what I would exactly but what I would do is sing the own songs that I produce.
- 24:36Oh, wow.
- 24:37I switched it up.
- 24:39Right.
- 24:39And at first, they didn't want that because they wanted us to sing their own theirs.
- 24:44But then I said, no, I wanna sing mine.
- 24:46So I actually promoted when he winded.
- 24:49My award winning of them.
- 24:51For dance home of the year, Toronto International.
- 24:55I started in a karaoke bar.
- 24:59So Again, back to what we were saying.
- 25:04Don't be scared because there's always someone out there that's listening at the the world's
- 25:09huge.
- 25:10But the problem with most people is they stay in a box.
- 25:14You know?
- 25:15They don't see the world in the globe and say, hey.
- 25:19Woah.
- 25:19I mean and, of course, you're scared of the the globe because that's such a big world, but it's
- 25:23also a small world, if you notice, because you you go to a meeting or you go to someone.
- 25:28Oh, I know you, but you could be in a different country.
- 25:32So this circle can be small.
- 25:35You know?
- 25:36But the idea is key.
- 25:38If you don't have the idea, then you don't have the goal.
- 25:44So it starts in your mind and then you get some.
- 25:50Then you're like, oh, no.
- 25:51I I remember when I I just, yeah, I just spoke in New York with Les Brown and, you know, kinda
- 25:57getting there and I'm thinking, I'm gonna be stage with this, you know, one of the best in
- 26:01the world.
- 26:01Where would that feel like?
- 26:02You know what I mean?
- 26:03Well, you
- 26:03know, I gotta tell you, I'm gonna be honest.
- 26:05Right?
- 26:05So I was in a mass frenzy.
- 26:06I think I finally just seen down a bit.
- 26:09It's honestly since December.
- 26:11And so I'm getting prepared, and there was so much, and my team was working hard.
- 26:15And, you know, I was I obviously had to practice and, you know, there was lots of
- 26:20things flying and obviously, you know, still doing other businesses and stuff like that.
- 26:23And I, I remember sitting and thinking to myself, in the pressure of it.
- 26:27I said, you know, you could just stay on your little cul de sac.
- 26:32Exactly.
- 26:33Got
- 26:33it.
- 26:33And kinda lock up your house with your family.
- 26:36I'm not doing it.
- 26:37I remember saying that to myself, and I thought, this is just fear.
- 26:43Is normal because I'm making that big leap to get on with some of the best in the world.
- 26:48And what did that feel like?
- 26:50That's another thing because I can I can feel your what you're feeling, because when working
- 26:54with the icons that I've worked with Yeah?
- 26:57And then I'm thinking, wow, I'm up next, and I'm listening to the first person.
- 27:02And what I did is I just went into the zone because I thought, okay.
- 27:05I'm just gonna focus.
- 27:07I've been practicing, you know, nonstop.
- 27:11I know it's, it's, it's in me, like you said.
- 27:13It's like you and you, when you sing, and I've seen you sing.
- 27:15You just go into a space where it pours out of you.
- 27:19I think at times when I speak Casper, I don't know if this I'm sure this is the case with a
- 27:24lot of artists also is I literally can't remember some of the things that I've said
- 27:31because I, I get I feel like it's a download from something bigger.
- 27:34It is.
- 27:35It's a spiritual download.
- 27:36It's a spiritual download.
- 27:38It's it's I'll watch an interview.
- 27:41Even this probably this interview is the same thing.
- 27:43Is you never can prepare yourself for an interview, a stage show, or anything.
- 27:50It just comes naturally.
- 27:51You can you can practice and you have to practice because that's key.
- 27:55Yes.
- 27:56But if you notice, even though your practice doesn't come out the same way you practice it,
- 28:00Hello?
- 28:01It comes out the way it's supposed to come out and the way that people caking in is amazing.
- 28:07Correct?
- 28:08Absolutely.
- 28:09Because you get the you get the feedback after.
- 28:11And then, you know, you always think, oh, you know, did I miss this, or did I, you know, and
- 28:15then you get feedback from others, and then they go, You know, and I got some fantastic
- 28:20feedback from, a lot of people in New York that I've since been doing business with.
- 28:24And they're like, this was it was inspiring.
- 28:27You were on, you know, you, you, you, your message was what we were needing for our
- 28:32company, those types of things.
- 28:33So, you know, multiple events have come from at since.
- 28:36So you're right.
- 28:37It's it's it's you know, your ego kinda says, oh my goodness, should you do this?
- 28:44And then you kinda, you know, and I'm I'm I I'm, you know, in New York City and I'm looking
- 28:48around.
- 28:49Okay.
- 28:49What did you feel like?
- 28:51Okay.
- 28:51So
- 28:51I felt
- 28:52what did you feel like when when you sat back and said, oh my god.
- 28:56I'm really doing this.
- 28:58Then I was You know, once I got over that hump of, okay, you could just kinda lock up your
- 29:02house and stay here with your kid.
- 29:04Yeah.
- 29:04And then
- 29:04I and then I'm in New York City, and I'm like, I'm meant to be here.
- 29:10And that's how you feel.
- 29:12Right?
- 29:12I'm meant to be here.
- 29:13This was in the plan all along, so I think you're right.
- 29:16You get that anxiety, and then you think, because again, another, you know, so many other
- 29:21things are expecting of you, which you have to deliver.
- 29:24And I knew I mean, I've always delivered, but, again, every time you take a bigger leap, like
- 29:29you've obviously done in your career, it took something bigger out of me yet again.
- 29:33And then New York was the last one, that happened, and now I'm doing a big event with
- 29:39bringing, someone, that's a celebrity to speak, in Toronto, on, mental health and mental
- 29:48well-being and addiction.
- 29:50Yes.
- 29:51In in June.
- 29:51So, again, that opportunity.
- 29:54Out of, you know, network and and his name is, Brian Cuban, his his brother Mark Cuban, is you
- 30:01know, kind of the one that's on shark tank and stuff like that, but he's one of the, you know,
- 30:05ones coming, you know, to Toronto.
- 30:08So you never know.
- 30:09You you have a good point.
- 30:10You're you're doing this.
- 30:13This is all going to be all over, and you never know who's gonna be listening that might hear
- 30:18you or hear me and then want to connect for whatever reason.
- 30:23Yeah.
- 30:23Well, I think that's the key.
- 30:25I think that's the beauty of social media now.
- 30:28We didn't have that.
- 30:29Right?
- 30:30Absolutely not.
- 30:31I mean, you know,
- 30:32you can go out and you can contact a celebrity.
- 30:35You can contact anybody you wanna contact nowadays, back in the day, you have to go
- 30:40knocking on the doors.
- 30:42Right.
- 30:42And my opportunity for New York came from a social network connection, and that I worked
- 30:48with for a while and then was able to to finalize the deal to be able to go to New York.
- 30:52So you never you never know, but I think it goes back to the whole element is that you have
- 30:57to have a plan.
- 30:58Like, you first of all, you're right.
- 30:59Have an idea.
- 31:01Mhmm.
- 31:01And then you have to know that you have this burning desire, even though you feel like, oh,
- 31:05can I do this?
- 31:06And you you got you gotta step on it daily.
- 31:09You gotta, you know, reach out.
- 31:11You gotta connect.
- 31:11You gotta talk to people.
- 31:13That's because for me, like, I'm I'm spiritually connected.
- 31:18That's how I work.
- 31:18Like, I'm a spiritual man.
- 31:20You probably know that by now.
- 31:21Yes.
- 31:22That When I connect with someone, there's a chemistry there.
- 31:27But how I do it is it's kinda strange.
- 31:30Because the higher power says, you gotta connect with that person.
- 31:36Now your fear can say, no, I don't.
- 31:39But usually, you sit there, and you can actually know who you can connect with because
- 31:46it's just in you.
- 31:47You say, okay, that person I know I have to connect with, because it's part of your goal
- 31:52because, see, I talk about this.
- 31:53This is crazy.
- 31:54And that you might relate to this.
- 31:57It's, I believe, life is like a video game.
- 32:00You know, you you you adventurous video game.
- 32:03You know how you do the wizard stuff in the video game.
- 32:06There's a wizard Derhodge.
- 32:07There's ghosts here.
- 32:08There's demons here.
- 32:10But yet, the top of there is your treasure.
- 32:13You get to the king or the queen.
- 32:15Right?
- 32:16And you
- 32:16have to go through all these people.
- 32:18So I believe in life is the same way.
- 32:20You go through all of me, you, Nikki Clark, whoever.
- 32:24We go through everyone until we get everyone, we get something from it.
- 32:28It can be a bump on the street.
- 32:29It could be the president.
- 32:30It could be anybody in the world, but we're we're made to get that key.
- 32:37Because every time that I get that key, I get to the next level.
- 32:40And I'm still trying to keep going to the top, you know, I'm the first stop.
- 32:46But at least you connect, you know, And then all of a sudden, you get that one piece that
- 32:52you were missing.
- 32:54And that person might not even know they gave it to you.
- 32:57And that's a good that's a good point.
- 32:58You're not sometimes you don't know, and you never know who along the way Guides you or
- 33:06helps you, but sometimes you look back and you go, oh, wow.
- 33:08That was really significant.
- 33:10There was something there, you see.
- 33:12Right.
- 33:12And it may not have been somebody in a authority position or a power position
- 33:16sometimes.
- 33:17It may be just that, you know, like, it's kinda like we met a year and a half ago, I guess it
- 33:22is now from work, yeah, about that or get heading on that.
- 33:26You, you know
- 33:27But but, again, we we didn't know we're gonna do this interview.
- 33:30No.
- 33:30No.
- 33:30And then, you know, and then we connected.
- 33:33And I said, oh, it makes sense because, obviously, I'm busy.
- 33:36You're busy.
- 33:37And, You know, I think you, you know, that's interesting.
- 33:40So when you say, okay, you're a spiritual man.
- 33:44So the choices that you make in business Are they guided by some of that spiritual wisdom,
- 33:48or you just go with intuition?
- 33:50Funny because, you know, in this society where we can sit back and say it's us.
- 33:56Because that's how the world works.
- 33:58Society says it's us, but in the spiritual world, it's god.
- 34:02And When you put those 2 together, you have to say it's you, but we give thanks to the all 91.
- 34:10Right?
- 34:10Yes.
- 34:11It doesn't matter if you're you're Christian.
- 34:13It doesn't matter if whatever religion is.
- 34:15I'm not I'm not any religion.
- 34:17I just believe in god, period.
- 34:18Love.
- 34:19Love is key.
- 34:20One love.
- 34:20Yep.
- 34:21Yeah.
- 34:21But how it works is that people are the vessel.
- 34:28You know, and when people shut, like, how the world's doing it today, they're trying to shut
- 34:33off people and shut off the messages.
- 34:36But if more people could say, okay.
- 34:39Hi.
- 34:39How are you doing?
- 34:40Mhmm.
- 34:41That is like a virus going out there.
- 34:43Of love, but the more people say, hey.
- 34:46I hate you.
- 34:47There's still the virus going out there.
- 34:50And that's how our world is starting to become.
- 34:52Were but but my goal is to bring back to love.
- 34:57Thank you.
- 34:58It's it's
- 34:58so interesting because, you know, because of my, obviously, my theme of authenticity.
- 35:03And I, you know, I often say, you know, I grew up in Trinidad.
- 35:08Right?
- 35:08You walk past somebody.
- 35:09You never you had you said hello.
- 35:13It was What
- 35:14was it?
- 35:15Good morning.
- 35:15Good afternoon.
- 35:16Hello, and high high uncle, respect.
- 35:19Right?
- 35:19And I think it's something that's such a basic thing, but it's such It's such a nice thing.
- 35:26Right?
- 35:26Like, you said, like, you, you know, when you see someone in the even if they give you a half
- 35:30a smile, that's like a hug.
- 35:31Right?
- 35:32And it
- 35:32makes a difference in the world.
- 35:34And you're right.
- 35:35It's kind of that energy that we're putting out there.
- 35:37And I think the world needs more authenticity.
- 35:40We need to be real.
- 35:41We need to let people know what we're ready about.
- 35:44And, you know, like you said, love, right, to be, to, to be kind and gentle and compassion in
- 35:50the world, that energy, the more of that you put out there, How much better is it concern,
- 35:56concerning what the kind of things are going on in the world?
- 36:01People don't believe that their voice is powerful enough.
- 36:05They always say, okay.
- 36:06If I say hello, I open the door, so what?
- 36:09That doesn't mean nothing.
- 36:10But it does mean something because you're putting that out there.
- 36:16And that's actually creating a spiritual level for your day.
- 36:21Mhmm.
- 36:22So if you're miserable for the day, then you're all gonna be miserable for the evening.
- 36:27If you're gonna be miserable for the day and all of a sudden, you change it into a spiritual
- 36:32connection and say, okay.
- 36:33You know what?
- 36:34I'm not doing that today.
- 36:35And your evening's gonna be a lot better.
- 36:38Right.
- 36:38I
- 36:38know that sounds strange, but that's life.
- 36:41But it's so it's so true, though, because what happens is if you're if you're in that mode,
- 36:46then you're not gonna, you know, go do the things you need to do.
- 36:48And you're not gonna see possibilities, you know, open because if you're in that stage,
- 36:53you're thinking negativity and you're not thinking about, you know, I gotta follow
- 36:56through.
- 36:56I was supposed to follow-up with this person.
- 36:57I was supposed to connect with this person.
- 36:59And when you kinda lift yourself and say, Hey, I'm not having a good day, but I'm gonna do it
- 37:03anyway.
- 37:04What happens is you feel better.
- 37:05And you get lifted up.
- 37:07Absolutely.
- 37:08Because you may have maybe had a nice conversation with somebody or and run it to
- 37:12somebody at the bank and they, you know, you chipped out at about nothing.
- 37:15And before you know, you're like, oh, yeah, by the way, what was I, what was I upset about?
- 37:19I forget.
- 37:20Exactly.
- 37:21So that's what I do with my music.
- 37:24When you hear my music, it puts a smile on your face because the message is strong.
- 37:29I'll have some party tunes.
- 37:31I'll have some some jaja tunes, spiritual tunes, even some gospel tunes, but love is
- 37:37love.
- 37:38Overall, I will not put any slackness, any badness.
- 37:44Through my 20 years, I have not recorded any slackness.
- 37:48That swearing.
- 37:50That's that's not me.
- 37:51Now most of the time in the industry, they always say, you know Casper.
- 37:55I mean, I've I've had contracts, no word of a lie that came up to me from Jamaica, New York,
- 38:00whatever, in the States.
- 38:02We're talking huge amount.
- 38:04I won't say, but huge amounts to do that.
- 38:08And I just stayed with my own label because I didn't believe in that.
- 38:12That was hard, and it is still hard.
- 38:14But at the end of the day, I still keep my my overall, respect.
- 38:21And authenticity.
- 38:22You're you're what you're saying is you could have gone off the beaten path because but you
- 38:27decided that this is what you're about.
- 38:29This is but this is big this is your space.
- 38:32Yeah.
- 38:32Right.
- 38:32And Well,
- 38:33I figured if I did anything stupid just for the money, then all those albums that I ever
- 38:39preached about in my music and the messages would all just fall away because people would
- 38:44be like, okay, he's doing this.
- 38:46The last year, he did this.
- 38:48I try to stay fluently focused on everything I do.
- 38:53So back to the writing stuff and I'm sure it's the same with you, is I am very, very critical
- 39:01and very spiritually connected to rights.
- 39:05My songs because they gotta be right before I push it out to the world.
- 39:11If it's you're gonna cry to my song, You're gonna be emotional.
- 39:15You're gonna be happy.
- 39:16You're gonna be whatever.
- 39:18Most people that hear my music say, oh my god.
- 39:21I can feel your pain.
- 39:23See, when you heard me perform it on Nikki Clark, what was your first thing?
- 39:27Yeah.
- 39:28I I was struck with emotion.
- 39:30Like, I mean, and I think that's you know, when an artist does that, I I mean, I remember the
- 39:36words, and I can't, I'll be honest with you, but it's the emotion that it brings up in you.
- 39:40And then you you're you're struck with it, and then you're like, you're connected then.
- 39:44You are connected, truly connected then, and then you open up your heart because it's touch
- 39:48you're you're saying about something that touches in me, a memory that I've had, and then
- 39:53I think of it where it takes me.
- 39:55And if, if that happens to, say, even a a third of your audience or 50% of your audience, and
- 40:02they're going to a space of vulnerability and, and, wanting something better in the world.
- 40:08And like you said, energy, what happens?
- 40:11It goes out from there.
- 40:12Right?
- 40:12And I think at the end of the day, I think you're right in saying that we're only one
- 40:17person, but you never know who you're gonna impact.
- 40:20Well, you never know.
- 40:22Mhmm.
- 40:22Mhmm.
- 40:23You know?
- 40:23And it's like, lyrical content is key to the world.
- 40:28You know, you're gonna sing about badness, bad things are gonna happen in the world.
- 40:31You're gonna sing about goodness.
- 40:32Great things are gonna happen in the world.
- 40:34This is the bottom line.
- 40:36That's why I say an artist, or even someone that writes books anyone, anyone that speaks
- 40:42about it, that we have a powerful tool to send out a loving message to the world.
- 40:50Mhmm.
- 40:51So if any beginning authors or artists out there if they you can give them one tip.
- 40:57Maybe they've been thinking about writing and they're, you know, they just haven't taken that
- 41:01step.
- 41:02What would be one or 2 good tips that you could give
- 41:04Well, the first thing I would say, stop thinking about it and just do
- 41:08it.
- 41:09Like
- 41:09like Nike said, he'd do it.
- 41:11Get past the fear of the damage.
- 41:13And say everything will work out.
- 41:15So what you do is, from my experience, is you could go with your idea.
- 41:24It could be the most over the top craziness.
- 41:27I've had some crazy ideas over the top.
- 41:30And every goal I've ever set up, I've always got it because I did it.
- 41:35And I didn't just do it from doing it for 6 months to I always I'll wait till 2 years, 3
- 41:41years until it's done until I get it.
- 41:44Mhmm.
- 41:44Most people don't want that.
- 41:46They want it fast.
- 41:47Especially today in in the kids world, that we use world, but ideas is the key to your your
- 41:55your product.
- 41:56So first thing is, as you probably know this very well, is the idea going through it,
- 42:02getting it all done, getting it right, and then product is key because now you need something a
- 42:09brand to sell.
- 42:11Mhmm.
- 42:12Mhmm.
- 42:12Correct.
- 42:12Absolutely.
- 42:13Absolutely.
- 42:14So you now gonna sit back and say, okay.
- 42:18Is my brand Right right now.
- 42:22My book, my CD, my product, because we just can't switch to the product.
- 42:26Ron Tuttle is the key of the business.
- 42:29You know?
- 42:30So product is is key to it.
- 42:33Like I said, book, CD, DVD, it doesn't matter what it is.
- 42:38It's key to get that product first.
- 42:41And then you can step in the industry of whatever industry you're you're dealing with,
- 42:45but you gotta make sure that your product's solid.
- 42:48See, when I first started in mind, my product, I wasn't sure about because it was my first
- 42:54product.
- 42:54I was scared.
- 42:55I had tears coming to my eyes and everything.
- 42:59I pushed it, though.
- 43:01Yep.
- 43:02I pushed my first album, and this never happens much, but I pushed pushed my first album and
- 43:09that album became award winning for trial international dance of the year 2 years after I
- 43:15pushed it.
- 43:16So 2000, I pushed it, but 2004 is when it won the award.
- 43:21Imagine that.
- 43:23So that takes a lot of follow through and vision and daily steps of of getting it out
- 43:31there.
- 43:32Drive, motivation, persistent, I mean, I'm a persistent man.
- 43:36If if if I wanna I want something and I wanna do something, I wanna get you.
- 43:41Mhmm.
- 43:41Mhmm.
- 43:42They would say, hey.
- 43:42How'd you get this guy?
- 43:43How'd you get this guy?
- 43:44How'd you get this lady?
- 43:45Whatever.
- 43:46It doesn't matter how I got you.
- 43:48It matters I got you.
- 43:50Mhmm.
- 43:51Because that's the key to success.
- 43:54Mhmm.
- 43:55Because people are busy, but at the end of the day, if you come with the right stuff, some
- 44:02people will go and say, hey.
- 44:03You know what?
- 44:04I'm not busy enough to not hear that or listen to that.
- 44:08Yes.
- 44:09Now you've intrigued my ears.
- 44:11To keep my sense, my eyes, you know, that's the key.
- 44:16So back to product is the key.
- 44:20So get get, get prepared.
- 44:23Well, it's it's true because, I work with a coach and she says is, ready.
- 44:31Aim.
- 44:32Get ready.
- 44:33Then aim and fire.
- 44:34Well, that's again.
- 44:35That's the same thing.
- 44:36Yeah.
- 44:37Same concept like your game because you can't go out there.
- 44:39You can't go out there until you know what you're about.
- 44:42And what
- 44:42are you targeting?
- 44:43Yeah.
- 44:43You don't know your brand.
- 44:45You don't know who your target market is.
- 44:47All those things, you know, whether it's in business or in speaking, or coaching like I am,
- 44:52at the end, end of the day, you can't go to the market without knowing what your brand is and
- 44:57what your brand identity is, and then, and again, at the end of the day, who your target
- 45:01market is.
- 45:01I want you're able to do those things, then you, you, you know, you find not everybody's
- 45:05gonna wanna deal with you, but that's okay.
- 45:08But then you're gonna position yourself accordingly to get the people that, want you in
- 45:12their lives, they will they will join your tribe.
- 45:15But it it's it's kind of funny that way because when I first was talking about what we're
- 45:21talking about, you're right.
- 45:22Not many people wanna deal with you.
- 45:24Not everyone wants to deal with you.
- 45:26But if you do it, right, those same people deal with you.
- 45:30I can't remember.
- 45:32I've had nomination awards.
- 45:34That the same people that dissed me and said, okay, blah, blah, blah, blah, are the same
- 45:39people, imagine this, that shaped my head and is presenting me the award.
- 45:46It's crazy.
- 45:47Yes.
- 45:47So that's that's gotta be powerful.
- 45:49It's powerful and it's true story.
- 45:51Yeah.
- 45:52You know what I mean?
- 45:53And being white, we gotta just to to to push that a little bit further because there's not
- 45:58many of us in the scene, especially in Canada.
- 46:01Think you can move us.
- 46:02It's snowing me.
- 46:03Right?
- 46:03Oh, there's 2.
- 46:03That's just two.
- 46:04Wow.
- 46:05So, I mean, that's really doing it.
- 46:08Mhmm.
- 46:09Mhmm.
- 46:09So that's the power of it all.
- 46:12Like, so we're making history people say that's a legacy leaving behind Casper legacy or even
- 46:19your legacy.
- 46:19Right?
- 46:20Mhmm.
- 46:21We are here to to teach and inspire the people.
- 46:26Correct?
- 46:27Absolutely.
- 46:28You know, one one go around one voice.
- 46:31And so long as you're making that in line with what you wanna get out in the world, which is
- 46:36truly what I hear is it's about spreading love versus, versus hate.
- 46:41Yeah.
- 46:41And and recognize that we have all the gifts all around us, but, you know, it's it it's what
- 46:47you do to recognize that we really have everything.
- 46:50We are abundant.
- 46:51You have the guests, so you have the tools.
- 46:54Everybody can do what I do.
- 46:56Where you do for sure.
- 46:58It's just having the persistence, the motivations, and the product, and and the money
- 47:03to do it.
- 47:05Mhmm.
- 47:05If you wanna sleep, that's fine.
- 47:07Some people say, you know, how do you do it, Casper?
- 47:10Well, I'm up at 3 in the morning sometimes.
- 47:12And whatever.
- 47:14Right.
- 47:15Right.
- 47:15By the time I'm done, as you're sleeping, I've created, and I've actually got what I needed.
- 47:22Absolutely.
- 47:23That's a real business person.
- 47:25Yes.
- 47:25You do it.
- 47:26You you do it till it's done.
- 47:27And you, you know, and it's hard work.
- 47:30Yes.
- 47:30And it's persistence, and it's stepping into the courage, like you said.
- 47:33Right?
- 47:33Like, we all have fear
- 47:35when
- 47:35you're doing something, but it's, you know, it's feeling the fear like they see in doing it
- 47:39anyway.
- 47:40Now I know you have a big event coming up in, Mississauga, and it sounds very exciting.
- 47:45And, So tell why don't you tell the listeners about it and tell them, tell them where they
- 47:51can get a hold of you if ever, people are wanting to maybe there's people on here that
- 47:56might listen might want to hire you, to perform or just to, be able to get more on, on you and
- 48:03your new music, where can they get a hold of you?
- 48:05You can get me at www.caspermusic with a k.
- 48:12Dotcom.
- 48:12So that's ww.castpermusic.com.
- 48:17And everything's there on my right that all my social media everything's there.
- 48:22So they can contact me anytime there.
- 48:23They can get me on Twitter.
- 48:25They can get me on Facebook.
- 48:27It's all there.
- 48:28Okay.
- 48:28So tell talk about Karasaga and what you're doing here.
- 48:31Karasaga is huge because I gotta be up to 1 Nikki collect for that.
- 48:35She linked me up.
- 48:36I did a Balmari tune for her.
- 48:41As you know, her brother passed away.
- 48:43Yes.
- 48:44I did this all for her.
- 48:45I recorded a studio session for it, but I didn't know where it was gonna go.
- 48:49Right?
- 48:49I just gave it to her, and she loved it, and
- 48:52Oh, wow.
- 48:53It was a spiritual moment.
- 48:54Right?
- 48:55But then she introduced it to, Juliet Julie.
- 49:01That puts on the Cara saga Jamaican Pavilion.
- 49:04And she told me to call her, and I called her, boom, boom, boom, and before I knew it, I was
- 49:10on the show because I love they just love me.
- 49:13Right?
- 49:14Nice.
- 49:14Not only I was on the show, but it we're we're just supposed to do, you know, the tent, but I
- 49:20wanted the big stage.
- 49:22So they got me in the big stage for the opening night.
- 49:25And the cool part is my future is my daughter.
- 49:29She's gonna sing the hook about Marley.
- 49:31Oh, my goodness.
- 49:33That's amazing.
- 49:33It's not amazing when your when your children get in, but hold is your daughter now.
- 49:39She's 10.
- 49:40My son, actually, when I launched my book, the night of the events, he actually, read all the
- 49:49acknowledgements, to a roomful of, like, 200 people.
- 49:53It was absolutely amazing to watch.
- 49:56And, just, you know, it made my night.
- 49:59You know, I I know it was a big night for me, but just seeing him do that was so special.
- 50:05So I could just imagine what that's gonna be for you.
- 50:07And I hope to so Karasaga is a huge cultural event in miss Saga, Ontario for anybody
- 50:12listening.
- 50:14And, representing the Jamaican Pavilion.
- 50:18Right.
- 50:18And Is it Bob Marley Dean?
- 50:21Awesome.
- 50:22It's at the Hershey Center, May 25th.
- 50:25I'll be on stage 7:30.
- 50:28I I'll be on stage at 8 to 8:30, so I'm doing almost a half hours in.
- 50:36And, it's at 5500 Rose Cherry, PL, Mississauga.
- 50:44Okay.
- 50:44Awesome.
- 50:45Awesome.
- 50:46So, I will I'm definitely gonna try to be there and, and listen and and, you know, bring some
- 50:53of my family because I you said that there's also a big, Trinidad Pavilion, which is
- 50:57excellent.
- 50:58So I'm sure we'll all wanna, and most of my family live in Mississauga.
- 51:02So which is great, which which is not far.
- 51:05So You
- 51:05have the information of who contact.
- 51:08Correct?
- 51:09Yes.
- 51:09I do.
- 51:09I do.
- 51:11So Casper, this has been amazing.
- 51:12You know, I I'd never thought of the I mean, I know about the parallels of creativity, but
- 51:17when I hear you know, whether I've, I've interviewed some, you know, huge, authors and
- 51:23speakers, in my, in my show.
- 51:26And really, it's the parallels are the same really around, creativity, which is, it's just
- 51:32awesome, you know, which is, again, quietening the mind you know, the, the downloads come
- 51:39following, following your passion and being truthful and authentic, to your voice, which is
- 51:46there, and it's coming from somewhere bigger.
- 51:49Yes.
- 51:49Well, I hope I inspired your viewer, your, listeners.
- 51:53And, I'm just honored that you actually put a recording on this on this.
- 51:58I mean, I'm
- 51:59just You're gonna be the first, so we'll see.
- 52:00Maybe we'll get some more.
- 52:02You never know.
- 52:03But, really, at at the end of the day, the message.
- 52:05Right?
- 52:06And I think what I like about, you know, obviously, it's Caribbean music, which, you
- 52:12know, I grew up with us, you know, from a baby, and I love I love Reggy, and I love Soca, and I
- 52:17love calypso.
- 52:19But I also like the fact, you know, that to actually talk about the difficulty that you've
- 52:24had, in breaking into an industry, which is oftentimes the opposite.
- 52:30We often talk about, you know, you know, non white people having issues, but I think it's
- 52:36the music industry, like you said, music has no color.
- 52:41It doesn't.
- 52:42And and I've I'm finally showing the world that a lot, because I've done a lot of interviews
- 52:48through the globe.
- 52:49Right?
- 52:49And they had the same same same thing.
- 52:53How'd you do it?
- 52:54Your light.
- 52:54I mean, it's the first thing.
- 52:56Right.
- 52:56Now
- 52:56I know you don't wanna come off that way, but I mean, too.
- 52:59Right?
- 53:01And I I don't put offense to it because I look at it as like it's okay because I'm more on
- 53:09that I am because of that.
- 53:11Well, and it's powerful because it it's teaching, I would think, if you can inspire,
- 53:17inspire young people, to not be focused on what they look at, but to love what they do and
- 53:23follow their passion.
- 53:24And then in my opinion, you've done a big, the world that you're using.
- 53:29So thank you for that.
- 53:31Thanks for taking the time, and, I will see you, I will see you in May.
- 53:37So for all my listeners, again, thank you so much for tuning in, to authentic living with
