- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to No drib All the podcasts where
- 0:09Speaker 1: we sit alone in studios waiting for the various airlines
- 0:12Speaker 1: of Australia to deposit our co hosts in different cities
- 0:15Speaker 1: and finally join us online. My name is very lonely
- 0:19Speaker 1: Carolyn Swindell. I'm in Sydney and I'm Kat Cox in.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Melbourne, and I'm very excited because i have Liz Ellos
- 0:26Speaker 2: and friend change.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm not lonely. I have a friend and we are
- 0:30Speaker 1: in It's like.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's likely on touring days, Catherine, I hope for our
- 0:34Speaker 2: room together, although normally we would have twin rooms and
- 0:37Speaker 2: twin Ben twin Ben, and it will be the end
- 0:40Speaker 2: of the tour and we would be like taking photos
- 0:43Speaker 2: of people getting needles in their feet and things like that.
- 0:45Speaker 3: But correct, I'm playing enormous amounts of rummy, but we're
- 0:48Speaker 3: not doing any of that.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Things have changed.
- 0:50Speaker 3: We've just got here. Liz didn't turn her Wi Fi
- 0:53Speaker 3: connection on on the plane till right at the end,
- 0:55Speaker 3: and she had about twenty five messages for me.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'm late.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I'm fifteen minutes late. Now, I'm half an hour late.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Now I'm going to be an hour late. And yeah,
- 1:04Speaker 3: I'm sorry about that. And then you turned it on.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You're like, what, Wow? What did you think that I
- 1:10Speaker 1: was ignoring you? No, I knew you.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Hadn't turned it on a Virgin can't afford Wi Fi connections.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Oh well, no, it wasn't that. I just forgot. I
- 1:19Speaker 1: just had remembered to download the paper and off I went.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But we are here, long story, so remind us again
- 1:25Speaker 1: why you're in Melbourne. Oh oh, that's right.
- 1:27Speaker 2: We're in Melbourne tonight for the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And well it's an annual dinner, but it hasn't been
- 1:34Speaker 2: on for a few years, has it, because of COVID
- 1:36Speaker 2: and whatnot.
- 1:37Speaker 3: So although you were here last year, I came last year,
- 1:41Speaker 3: which I think was the first year host COVID and
- 1:45Speaker 3: Lauria Guys has been inducted, which we mentioned last week,
- 1:48Speaker 3: which is very exciting. So we've come out, all the
- 1:50Speaker 3: netbors have come out in their drives to support her.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yes, but the thing is though, like you, if you've
- 1:56Speaker 2: already been inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame,
- 1:58Speaker 2: it's pretty fancy, fancy night and then you get your
- 2:02Speaker 2: flights and your accommodation covered. So there's all these sports
- 2:05Speaker 2: people staying at this fancy hotel in Melbourne, and like
- 2:09Speaker 2: I walked in and I ran into Kerry Podast, and
- 2:12Speaker 2: I ran into our old team doctor, doctor Grace Bryant,
- 2:15Speaker 2: and whilst I was talking to her, I ran into
- 2:16Speaker 2: Jane Fleming.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So you really can't. You can't go anywhere without bumping
- 2:20Speaker 1: into a Gold medals.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I just saw Dawn Fraser, yes I did, downstairs, so
- 2:24Speaker 3: everyone is here, which.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Is very Dawn's been upgraded to a patron her and yes,
- 2:29Speaker 1: her and Don Bradman, so.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I think she'll she'll. There'll be a bit of a
- 2:33Speaker 2: fancy focus on Dawn tonight too. So it's good you
- 2:36Speaker 2: get to catch up with people. You see, what's a
- 2:38Speaker 2: year or in my case once every five years?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Were fantastic. Yeah, so big night for Guiitsy. I had
- 2:43Speaker 1: to pull out.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I saw your frock in the wardrobe. We're in Liza's
- 2:47Speaker 3: room and the frock looks gorgeous, a little sneak peep,
- 2:49Speaker 3: but I had to quickly go to my room first
- 2:51Speaker 3: because I didn't bother with a garment bag.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It was just folded up in my six that's so
- 2:56Speaker 1: unlike you, I know, But who can be bothered carrying
- 3:00Speaker 1: something extra on the plane?
- 3:01Speaker 3: I thought i'd just fold it as neatly as I
- 3:03Speaker 3: can get it out, and if I need to side
- 3:06Speaker 3: out on it.
- 3:07Speaker 1: What are you wearing?
- 3:08Speaker 3: Not telling it's a surprise.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Oh it's your wedding.
- 3:12Speaker 3: That would have been a white dress.
- 3:14Speaker 1: That's a dead giveaway.
- 3:16Speaker 3: You'd have a nerd wearing a white dress.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I was going to go off light, but you went
- 3:20Speaker 1: straight to black.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Well, I'm wearing a long black dress that
- 3:25Speaker 2: I bought when I was pregnant with one of my children,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and I've had a fit cake lately and not much exercise,
- 3:31Speaker 2: so I thought I could wear the same dress.
- 3:33Speaker 3: It was very sexy, mama. Though it's a bit of
- 3:35Speaker 3: a low cut happening there.
- 3:36Speaker 1: No, I know. It's low cut at the back, high
- 3:38Speaker 1: cut at the front. Yeah. Do you have bum cleavage
- 3:41Speaker 1: or is it not that low?
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm fifty two, Carolyn. There's shoulder cleavage and that's about it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: And to be fair, the butt cleavage starts way further
- 3:49Speaker 3: up the back.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Than hester it so and goes it hangs down a
- 3:52Speaker 1: lot further. I could be so I do want while
- 3:56Speaker 1: you're there, because I did look at the temperature today
- 3:59Speaker 1: and I think that you've dropped about twelve degrees going
- 4:02Speaker 1: from Sydney to Melbourne. But I will tell you from
- 4:06Speaker 1: foolish words, the weather will be cold. There are two
- 4:09Speaker 1: reasons for this. One is that the temperature will be lower.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So that is the radio with a forecast on the
- 4:16Speaker 1: of April nineteen from Yes.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Well, actually it is sixteen degrees here today, which just
- 4:22Speaker 2: makes it so hard when you're packing, because at my
- 4:24Speaker 2: house today it was thirty degrees.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So it's just hard man Jivvy Fair.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I did know we weren't going to be leaving the hotel, Yeah,
- 4:32Speaker 3: because we're in Crown so everything's attached.
- 4:34Speaker 2: We don't have to actually, guys, no, we'll spend all
- 4:38Speaker 2: of thirty seconds outside walking from the airport to the
- 4:41Speaker 2: cab and from the cab to the hotel.
- 4:43Speaker 1: So yeah, the weather's okay here inside here.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And Carolyn, I've just got here expecting to take Elizabeth
- 4:49Speaker 3: to lunch and have a little cheeky vino and the like,
- 4:52Speaker 3: and she tells me she's had a terrible night sleep
- 4:54Speaker 3: and she wants in an afternoon.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Not so I will have a cheeky veno afterwards before
- 5:00Speaker 1: we go through the function. Right, are you a long
- 5:02Speaker 1: napper or a power napper? Mainly a power napper.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I just said, Look, I had a bad night's sleep
- 5:09Speaker 2: last night because my sister came over with rum, this
- 5:11Speaker 2: white rum, and I don't know, spirits just made me
- 5:14Speaker 2: sleep tally.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So look at Bacardi. What's a white rum.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's like a Byron bathing, I don't know, somewhere fancy.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah, like anyway, So now I'll have a little little
- 5:26Speaker 2: power nap and then I'll be really good.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Rocket to go. And I did what. I actually get
- 5:30Speaker 1: to give.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Out an award tonight, not Gutes his award. I get
- 5:34Speaker 2: to give out so cricketer Blinda Clark is getting elevated
- 5:37Speaker 2: to legend status and I get to give her her
- 5:40Speaker 2: trophies a bit how exciting excited about that? Actually I
- 5:43Speaker 2: was going to wear my fancy long frock ands and runners,
- 5:46Speaker 2: but when I remember it, I was getting up on stage.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Job I got the heels out.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Well, you can do runners on the way there. I
- 5:52Speaker 3: actually do plan on wearing slippers on the way there,
- 5:55Speaker 3: because you have to walk from the hotel through the
- 5:58Speaker 3: casino to the function area and it's a hefty walk.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Can you remember? So, I'm actually gonna wear my slippers
- 6:05Speaker 3: with your hotel slippers.
- 6:07Speaker 1: One.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I'm wearing them on the way. I'll carry my heels
- 6:11Speaker 3: and i'll put them on when I get there.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Those hotel slippers would probably fit you too, wouldn't they? Yeah?
- 6:16Speaker 1: What are they like?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Skis on water, skis on you on surfboards?
- 6:20Speaker 1: For me, although I did Stack Crown in Sydney, and
- 6:23Speaker 1: I think because they catered to an Asian market, the
- 6:26Speaker 1: slippers were much closer fit for my feet than at
- 6:28Speaker 1: any hotel I've ever been too. Yeah, I feel like
- 6:30Speaker 1: I'm wearing my mum's shoes as a little kid. When
- 6:33Speaker 1: I put on the hotel where I was going to say,
- 6:36Speaker 1: our heels just hang over the edge. So yeah, idea,
- 6:41Speaker 1: Well they're catering to no one. Then did you have
- 6:44Speaker 1: smooth flights? I mean you were delayed, cat.
- 6:47Speaker 3: But yeah, because just before we took off, the winds
- 6:50Speaker 3: picked up and it dropped down to run run one way,
- 6:53Speaker 3: one way, run way one runway. So yes, a little
- 6:59Speaker 3: bit delayed.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But for Dribbler's information, they have not had the wine yet.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But we thought about it, and that made us not
- 7:07Speaker 1: a struggle. Yeah, I came. When I flew back from
- 7:11Speaker 1: Brisbane a few weeks ago, we had four aborted landings
- 7:15Speaker 1: because there was like a They said there's something wrong
- 7:17Speaker 1: with one of the flaps, which made me giggle, obviously
- 7:20Speaker 1: because I'm more mature. But then when we landed, I
- 7:23Speaker 1: looked out the window and there's like six fire trucks
- 7:27Speaker 1: driving along the runway trying to keep speed with it,
- 7:30Speaker 1: and oh, okay, that might have been a little bit
- 7:32Speaker 1: more serious than I'd anticipated.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Question how far into the landing do they get before
- 7:37Speaker 3: they go it's not going to happen.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. You know, we were
- 7:40Speaker 1: up high. I can't really do my mental dead reckoning
- 7:44Speaker 1: of how high it was. So we were circling over Sydney,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and then they sort of they went to go in.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I could feel a start the descent, and then I
- 7:51Speaker 1: could feel ad.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I'm picturing you like an inch from the runway, and
- 7:55Speaker 3: then they wound jets back on again. Oh jee okay,
- 7:58Speaker 3: So it.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Was enough that you could feel that we were on
- 8:01Speaker 1: a dissent and then and then accelerated out of that
- 8:03Speaker 1: or whatever. The hell, the terminology is, Darryl, can you
- 8:06Speaker 1: tell me about the terminology is for next book? Please? We
- 8:09Speaker 1: haven't given Daryl a job in weeks. It's terrible. But yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and we did that four times and then they're going, oh,
- 8:14Speaker 1: there's just a problem with the flaps, which I believe
- 8:16Speaker 1: is called an aileron, but I don't know if that's
- 8:18Speaker 1: the correct flap.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't want to be told if it's that serious, though,
- 8:22Speaker 3: do you can you mention? No?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah? No? Does unite you though with the passenger's next qew,
- 8:27Speaker 1: this isn't when you look out the window together and
- 8:29Speaker 1: you see the fire entrance and go ah. We all
- 8:32Speaker 1: completely misunderstood that. We all thought it was just Captain
- 8:36Speaker 1: going round round around. Look kids, Big Ben, Look kids,
- 8:39Speaker 1: Big Ben, Look kid's Big Ben.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Caroline was still laughing at the flaps joke.
- 8:45Speaker 1: For weeks. I've been wanting to use it.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Oh no, it's like that Friend's episode when Phoebe tries
- 8:50Speaker 3: to get off the plane and she starts telling everyone
- 8:53Speaker 3: there's something wrong with the left folangie.
- 8:55Speaker 1: On the flat plan and they all get into a panic.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I'm being wrong with the philangy.
- 9:02Speaker 4: So there's no falangy, fly me to the moon, Let
- 9:09Speaker 4: me please among the stars, let me see what spring
- 9:17Speaker 4: is like on a j burtera and mys.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I have a little problem and I'm hoping you too
- 9:24Speaker 2: can give me some advice. Right, And it's going to
- 9:27Speaker 2: sound like a little bit of a humble brag, but
- 9:29Speaker 2: I'm a bit serious.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I don't quite know what to do here.
- 9:31Speaker 2: So my gorgeous girl, she recently got selected into the
- 9:35Speaker 2: North Coast Academy of Sport for netball, which is very exciting.
- 9:37Speaker 1: We went to a trial day and she got selected.
- 9:41Speaker 1: That's great.
- 9:42Speaker 2: We just have to make sure that we're home from
- 9:44Speaker 2: our TASI trip by the end of January, cause she's
- 9:46Speaker 2: got to be places in February for training.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Great, we can manage that.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Today I received an email from North Coast Rugby Union
- 9:56Speaker 2: saying congratulations Evely, and you've been selected into the North
- 9:59Speaker 2: Coast Rugby Union squad, which is lovely. But I think
- 10:04Speaker 2: they just wouldn't trial. So I just selected her because
- 10:07Speaker 2: I don't know someone is say that. But also the
- 10:10Speaker 2: problem is for this she has to be training in
- 10:14Speaker 2: mid January and then there's a tournament in central West
- 10:18Speaker 2: New South Wales in sort of late January. Now I
- 10:22Speaker 2: would have been Tazzy in January in the caravan on
- 10:24Speaker 2: a holiday. So my question is do I tell her
- 10:27Speaker 2: because the email came to me.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Well, the only parallel experience I can relate to this
- 10:32Speaker 1: is that every year for both of my children when
- 10:35Speaker 1: the note came home for auditions for the recorder group,
- 10:41Speaker 1: they went missing. Interesting, And then when I was called
- 10:45Speaker 1: on it, I made up a rule that it's like, well,
- 10:48Speaker 1: if you want to be in the band, you can't
- 10:50Speaker 1: be in the recorder group. And so far I've gotten
- 10:54Speaker 1: clean away with it. Once in year twelve, one's in
- 10:58Speaker 1: year six and you're in the clear. Yeah. Well I
- 11:02Speaker 1: may well have just overplayed my hand, and you may
- 11:06Speaker 1: well have overplayed your hand in putting this on a podcast.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Oh this is true, it's open to the masses. Yes,
- 11:12Speaker 1: that's true.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Firstly, don't breed with someone as athletic as you and
- 11:16Speaker 3: have really talented children.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Well, it's not my fault. I blame Matthew. He was
- 11:22Speaker 1: the meat tray played rugby. It's not me.
- 11:24Speaker 2: She's zero rugby ability for me. She plays when she
- 11:27Speaker 2: plays my sport, the trainings are manageable. It's his sport
- 11:30Speaker 2: where the trainings are not manageable because they got in
- 11:33Speaker 2: second Yes, would you.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Like to know what I think you're gonna do? What
- 11:40Speaker 1: I think you're going to be in Central West News
- 11:42Speaker 1: sound inshead of in Straw.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Like I've booked my Wilderness cruising Straw and my my
- 11:55Speaker 2: steam training Queenstown. And I booked my Mona Posh Fair
- 12:00Speaker 2: in Hobart and I was so excited.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I was about to book.
- 12:04Speaker 2: My ferry across to Maria Island and I've booked my
- 12:07Speaker 2: caravan plod my little hip camp on Britney Island, and
- 12:10Speaker 2: I was so excited. And I've got my Excel spreadsheet
- 12:14Speaker 2: and it's perfect.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Does she have to go with you? Would she be
- 12:17Speaker 3: devastated if she missed the holiday?
- 12:19Speaker 1: I would be devastated if she missed the holiday. Yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 1: I can't help you. I'm quite fond of her. I mean,
- 12:24Speaker 1: bloody goods. I wreck everything, especially the holidays that you book,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and then everything thereafter is just a massive hassle.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Joy.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Sure, I don't know what to do.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I mean, would she desperately want to go?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 12:39Speaker 3: She's gonna want to be there, isn't she?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeap? She loves rugby and she loves it. She's going, yeah, okay,
- 12:46Speaker 1: damn sucks.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I just what was that noise? That was my holiday
- 12:51Speaker 2: whistling by? Particularly, if you've got a spreadsheet, well, let
- 12:58Speaker 2: me tell you something that may walk in the blow
- 13:01Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Don't you do you would do a spreadsheet? No, you don't.
- 13:05Speaker 1: You just do it. I'd tell you to do it. Holiday.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I like to go on holidays with somebody that is
- 13:10Speaker 3: not necessarily a control freak. Although that's good because I
- 13:13Speaker 3: like to go away and not make any decisions.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Traveling with my sister I thought would not be fun, but.
- 13:18Speaker 3: It's actually the best thing ever, because she's a control freak,
- 13:21Speaker 3: so she's like downstairs nine o'clock. Great, don't have to
- 13:24Speaker 3: think about what we're doing or where we're going in
- 13:26Speaker 3: the day's planned. And that's good because traveling with Meg
- 13:29Speaker 3: and Anderson to Dubai, we struggled for most of the
- 13:32Speaker 3: day to make a decision. You can't have that.
- 13:36Speaker 1: No I had that. I really hate that. And for me,
- 13:39Speaker 1: the spreadsheet is part of the fun of the holiday.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It is the planning. It is the putting it all together.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It is the color coding days and which parts haven't
- 13:47Speaker 1: I booked yet? And which part is have I sent
- 13:49Speaker 1: through a request for but not confirmed? And when will
- 13:52Speaker 1: that payment come off? The card? Love it? Love it?
- 13:56Speaker 1: And when one of my men, who was in fact
- 13:59Speaker 1: asking for it on Europe, I went, oh, would you
- 14:02Speaker 1: like to see my entire spreadsheet? And I sent it
- 14:05Speaker 1: to her so and I feel like she's been a
- 14:08Speaker 1: little bit light on the feedback on that. So Mel,
- 14:10Speaker 1: you know, whenever you're ready and you want to tell
- 14:12Speaker 1: me that you're a pig job with that spreadsheet, I
- 14:15Speaker 1: require validation often. Please well, I don't know, Liz, keep
- 14:19Speaker 1: us updated. I will update you though on something dramatic
- 14:22Speaker 1: that happened on the weekend. It is the school fair time,
- 14:25Speaker 1: so you know they have the white Elephant store, so
- 14:27Speaker 1: you clean out all your stuff. Other people, for reasons unknown,
- 14:31Speaker 1: choose to buy it. My knitting career is over. I
- 14:35Speaker 1: have yes, I have taken the scarf I have been
- 14:40Speaker 1: trying to knit for eight years, the Marone scarf. I
- 14:44Speaker 1: have undone all of it. I have bawled up the wall,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I have put the needles through the balls of wall,
- 14:51Speaker 1: packaged them up and those will be sold next weekend
- 14:54Speaker 1: at the school fair. And I will no longer be
- 14:57Speaker 1: pretending that I am ever going to finish a single,
- 15:00Speaker 1: very simple knitting task. How far from the end were you?
- 15:05Speaker 1: How far is anything?
- 15:06Speaker 3: How long is a piece of wool?
- 15:08Speaker 1: Yes? Exactly so I probably could have got this spoonish,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but it's also snow half armsd like. I looked at
- 15:17Speaker 1: it and go, this is embarrassing. If my daughter gave
- 15:21Speaker 1: me this is the gift, I would wear it once
- 15:23Speaker 1: and then it would go in the cupboard. How satisfy fine?
- 15:26Speaker 3: Pulling the piece that just unraveled it all? Was that good?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah? That was that was very good. And it also
- 15:33Speaker 1: felt you know, because I don't know whether you're gonna
- 15:36Speaker 1: have it, but like there's the sort of the cemetery
- 15:39Speaker 1: of hobbies past, and you know they just sit there,
- 15:42Speaker 1: making you feel bad that you're no longer doing these things.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I also gave away the jigsaw mat. Oh I like
- 15:50Speaker 1: my jigsaw mat. I'm not doing jigsaws anymore.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Why not because you doesn't have a mat?
- 15:58Speaker 1: I'm only it wouldquipped for such a thing. No, because
- 16:01Speaker 1: it takes too much time. No one helps, and I
- 16:04Speaker 1: just always feel like I should be doing something better
- 16:07Speaker 1: with this time, and you have.
- 16:08Speaker 3: To finish them. That's the annoying thing with them too,
- 16:11Speaker 3: isn't it. You can't start it? And then I bought
- 16:14Speaker 3: halfway through so i'd SIT's on your table for months.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And what's the most ridiculous hobby you've ever taken up
- 16:19Speaker 2: and spent money on?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Well? Probably stand up comedy is the most ridiculous pursuit
- 16:24Speaker 1: that I had that paid much money that it turns.
- 16:28Speaker 1: But oh while I'm on that though, for Driblis, who
- 16:30Speaker 1: are I think? I will be hosting at the Comedy
- 16:32Speaker 1: Store on Saturday, the twenty ninth of November, the early
- 16:34Speaker 1: show and the late show. And I can't be bothered
- 16:37Speaker 1: updating my Instagram with just that one gig, so I'm
- 16:39Speaker 1: going to use this. So please come on if you're
- 16:41Speaker 1: in Sydney. Yay. What's the most ridiculous hobby you've ever started?
- 16:45Speaker 2: Well, I was just thinking it's not a ridiculous hobby.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I just spent a fortune and then lost interest. I've
- 16:52Speaker 2: had a couple one surfing, got a nice board, did
- 16:56Speaker 2: it for a summer, got knocked up, didn't do it anymore.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Golf golf played a lot for a couple of years.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Matthew and iused to.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Laugh at the breeders who weren't playing golf, and we
- 17:07Speaker 2: didn't have kids, and we played golf and then.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Got knocked up and stopped playing. There's a pattern here,
- 17:13Speaker 1: isn't there.
- 17:14Speaker 2: And then probably the most ridiculous one was maybe one
- 17:17Speaker 2: sport two posty bikes, and we went and bought like
- 17:21Speaker 2: leathers and helmets and everything.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Got my ls never got anywhere near my peas, and
- 17:30Speaker 1: so I've still got.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I still got my helmet. I sold my leathers recently,
- 17:36Speaker 2: but I've still got my helmet sitting at home. But
- 17:38Speaker 2: it's like it's sitting in the garage and it winks
- 17:41Speaker 2: at me every time I get to the car, and
- 17:42Speaker 2: it's like it's saying, don't take up hobbies, lady, because
- 17:45Speaker 2: you just don't follow through.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And I spent thousands.
- 17:47Speaker 3: You should have kept the leathers for Halloween. You could
- 17:49Speaker 3: have gone one part of YMC. No.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I sold them.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I sold them like I was the only way I
- 17:56Speaker 2: was sold on Facebook marketplace. Actually I thought it for
- 17:58Speaker 2: fifty bucks. Anyway, that was just ridiculous.
- 18:01Speaker 1: They still fit anyway, even if you'd kept them, they
- 18:04Speaker 1: had plenty of giveing.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Them standings is having a ridiculous topic, not that I
- 18:14Speaker 3: can think of. There's got to be something, but nothing,
- 18:17Speaker 3: nothing that full on reading.
- 18:20Speaker 1: She bought a book once a bit.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I did buy book once. Actually, I've got plenty of
- 18:27Speaker 3: books I bought once that I haven't read it. There
- 18:29Speaker 3: you go, yeah, no, not that comes to mind. But
- 18:32Speaker 3: I'm sure I'll think you one. So is that your
- 18:35Speaker 3: only two? There must be another one for you.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure I've got I mean, I've still got
- 18:39Speaker 1: the crochet in there. I still can't do that. But
- 18:41Speaker 1: I didn't have time to unrabble all of that and
- 18:45Speaker 1: send that off. You know, I'm forever going and buying
- 18:48Speaker 1: things to make a recipe that I've seen on a
- 18:51Speaker 1: cooking show or whatever, and then you know it might
- 18:54Speaker 1: do that once and a pastor maker for instance, like
- 18:58Speaker 1: it's really nice fresh stupid man, it's a hassle.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Oh and you got to hang it on the little
- 19:03Speaker 2: clothes hooks to dry, and it's two dollars a bag.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, people.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I do remember the elephant stall though at school, and
- 19:14Speaker 3: I got so excited one year because I found an
- 19:17Speaker 3: after shave and the bottle was in the shape of
- 19:20Speaker 3: the thinker, you know the sky, Yes, And I bought
- 19:23Speaker 3: it for Dad and I was so excited to give
- 19:26Speaker 3: it to him.
- 19:27Speaker 1: This will shock you.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I don't think he ever opened it for fear of
- 19:30Speaker 3: what it was and where it came from. But I
- 19:32Speaker 3: was so And that's the one thing I can remember
- 19:36Speaker 3: from the elephant store when I was in year three
- 19:38Speaker 3: or something.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Stupid. Yeah, there's your hobby. And all he wanted was
- 19:41Speaker 1: the bottle of Lynx Africa.
- 19:43Speaker 5: He did old spice.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Okay, so we should talk about netball.
- 20:05Speaker 3: What there been some netball on?
- 20:07Speaker 1: I know there has been some netball on, yeah, a
- 20:11Speaker 1: bit of international netball ladies. What I'm not very happy
- 20:14Speaker 1: about is that we've got a lot of English sports
- 20:17Speaker 1: fans who will be happy this week. That's not my favorite.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Well, they might not be happy on Thursday, though it
- 20:22Speaker 3: might be short lived, might.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Not be though, Well, let's maybe we should explain. So Interestingly,
- 20:29Speaker 2: there were two netball test matches played on the weekend
- 20:32Speaker 2: with two the same teams. One on Saturday was in
- 20:35Speaker 2: London and the score for both games was sixty one
- 20:39Speaker 2: fifty day Yeah yeah, so ridiculous, hey two and but
- 20:43Speaker 2: different winners. So new Zealand won the first game sixty
- 20:46Speaker 2: one fifty eight, and then England turned it around Helen
- 20:49Speaker 2: hows that one and they won sixty one fifty eight
- 20:52Speaker 2: within sort of twenty four hours of each other. And
- 20:54Speaker 2: then they play their third Test match on Wednesday night
- 20:58Speaker 2: England time, Thursday morning.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Hout that's in Manchester, Yeah, isn't it? Yeah? How good?
- 21:03Speaker 1: So what do you make of it?
- 21:05Speaker 3: I'm not surprised it's close, because like those two countries
- 21:09Speaker 3: just informed, New Zealand taking form from the Australian series
- 21:12Speaker 3: and obviously England just a great site and I think recruited,
- 21:16Speaker 3: not recruited well, but they've got a lot of talent
- 21:18Speaker 3: in that team that have all been in good form
- 21:20Speaker 3: this season. So not surprised by that. I'm amazed New
- 21:24Speaker 3: Zealand's still got any gas in the tank at all
- 21:26Speaker 3: because I have been involved in this for such a
- 21:29Speaker 3: long time. If I think now about going back to
- 21:32Speaker 3: when Australia played South Africa, that feels like months and
- 21:35Speaker 3: months and months agone it was, but New Zealand had
- 21:38Speaker 3: been playing since before that in their internationals and basically
- 21:41Speaker 3: haven't stopped. So this will be two months. Yeah, crazy
- 21:46Speaker 3: amount and travel too to add into that mix. So
- 21:50Speaker 3: I think they we'll have last sixty minutes in them.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I reckon New Zealand will get up, although the English
- 21:56Speaker 3: crowds have been massive and I think Nepple's really gaining
- 22:00Speaker 3: some momentum over there.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, off the back of their super league as well.
- 22:04Speaker 2: It's interesting though because that first match was England's first
- 22:07Speaker 2: hit out I think since February as a team, and
- 22:10Speaker 2: so you would expect for them to be codwebs. Then
- 22:13Speaker 2: they've turned it around that three gold turnaround and it's
- 22:17Speaker 2: actually six gold turnaround and I reckon they might have.
- 22:21Speaker 1: A little bit in them there.
- 22:22Speaker 3: You go, Well, that would make sense, wouldn't they. Yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 3: obviously you get better every game you play.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Ellen or Cardwell came back from knee injury, so
- 22:31Speaker 2: pretty interesting and the Silver Fanes don't feel also played
- 22:33Speaker 2: a couple of Test matches against Scotland.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, that's a lot.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Now, wonder if they tried to do access Jackid and
- 22:39Speaker 1: then on top of all of this drama that they've
- 22:42Speaker 1: had to contend with this last couple of months. It's amazing.
- 22:45Speaker 1: So they'll have to just go home and lie down
- 22:47Speaker 1: until the Commonwealth Games.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I wonder if they're looking at the diamonds social media
- 22:52Speaker 2: feeds because they're all at holidays, Jacko, I go, they'd
- 22:56Speaker 2: be us.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Well, they're not far away. They'll be hunting down the second.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, over in the northern Hemisphere in heading into winter
- 23:05Speaker 2: as well. So I'll just speak stinging to get back
- 23:08Speaker 2: to the sunshine, won't they?
- 23:09Speaker 1: But they got one more game in them, so yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 1: no surprises Grace. In the week he did the bulk of.
- 23:14Speaker 2: The scoring for England, whereas the English shooters shared it a
- 23:19Speaker 2: little bit. So something see a bit of a trend
- 23:20Speaker 2: there aren't we.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Helen, how's been ninety six percent accuracy? Though? It's all
- 23:24Speaker 1: looking good for the swift Yeah exactly, which, let's remember,
- 23:28Speaker 1: is all that matters in test season. Super netball is
- 23:32Speaker 1: all that matters in this season, full stop. Oh dear, No,
- 23:37Speaker 1: that's good. It's nice that you sort of wake up
- 23:39Speaker 1: and check out the score from overseas. But then I
- 23:42Speaker 1: guess on Thursday, it's the last time in the netball
- 23:45Speaker 1: season truly. Rule is over? So is that the end
- 23:48Speaker 1: of the netball year? We talked about this last year.
- 23:50Speaker 1: We never really got a sense on when is Netball's
- 23:54Speaker 1: New Year's Eve? When does the New Year's Day of
- 23:57Speaker 1: the netball year start? Yeat a lot of happy English
- 24:01Speaker 1: sports fans because the Roses beat the Ferns, England beat
- 24:07Speaker 1: the All Blacks. Now I'm worried about this because on
- 24:09Speaker 1: Thursday I go to Perse for the first day of
- 24:12Speaker 1: the Ashes and that team is injured and I do
- 24:15Speaker 1: not want to be sitting there with a bunch of
- 24:17Speaker 1: happy Barbie army. Yeah, that's that's got warts on it.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Yeah, well it might be just a nice day out
- 24:25Speaker 3: in the sun.
- 24:25Speaker 1: It will be a long way to go for a
- 24:27Speaker 1: nice out.
- 24:28Speaker 3: The sign, I know, but it's heard, son, it's good son.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll be right.
- 24:32Speaker 3: We're going into Margaret River Sports the Winner. Oh yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 3: you could do that. You are going or you're going
- 24:37Speaker 3: to divert.
- 24:39Speaker 1: We are going, We're going there. We're going there first.
- 24:41Speaker 1: So it's it's it's a fairly packed few days, but
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'm very excited about it.
- 24:45Speaker 3: So what are you doing Margaret River cricket? What else
- 24:47Speaker 3: is on the agenda?
- 24:49Speaker 1: A lot of time in flights basically, there's not much
- 24:53Speaker 1: beyond that. But yeah, I'll go to domain naturalist and
- 24:57Speaker 1: you know, say hi to my friends there and drink
- 24:59Speaker 1: some the wine and yeah, catch up with some friends
- 25:02Speaker 1: and yelling up and then go to the cricket and
- 25:04Speaker 1: then we will come back. There's a long way to go.
- 25:08Speaker 1: It is a long way to go. But my stepdaughters
- 25:12Speaker 1: are going to South America in the new year, and
- 25:18Speaker 1: their itinery gives me hives because it's like flying to
- 25:22Speaker 1: Australia and going well, I'll go to the Gold Coast
- 25:26Speaker 1: and then I'll go to Perth, and then I'll go
- 25:28Speaker 1: to Sydney and then I'll go to Adelaide, And it's like,
- 25:31Speaker 1: there's got to be a more logical way to have
- 25:32Speaker 1: dealt with this, and I just have to smile and
- 25:34Speaker 1: be supportive. This will let me know whether they listen
- 25:37Speaker 1: to the podcast regularly or not. Yeah, this is true.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Have you been to South America? I have been to Argentina.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I went to Buenos Aires and then down to Ushraia
- 25:47Speaker 1: because I call a boat to an Antarctica. But I
- 25:50Speaker 1: haven't spent a lot of time over there, have you know?
- 25:53Speaker 1: At once?
- 25:54Speaker 2: I went actually the year that after I retired from
- 25:56Speaker 2: Neddie and when the girls went back to pre season
- 25:59Speaker 2: training to be somewhere not near them, so I didn't
- 26:02Speaker 2: miss them. So we went to South America and did
- 26:05Speaker 2: the ink Contrail and did all that sort of stuff.
- 26:07Speaker 2: It was amazing. It's an amazing place.
- 26:09Speaker 3: But you did the hardcore in contral did?
- 26:11Speaker 1: We did?
- 26:12Speaker 2: We did the hardcore in Contrail And I was as
- 26:14Speaker 2: fit as I've ever been because it was a few
- 26:16Speaker 2: weeks after the two thousand and seven World Cup. Matthew
- 26:20Speaker 2: was as unfit as he's ever been, and he hated me.
- 26:24Speaker 2: And as we're walking along the in con trail, because
- 26:27Speaker 2: it's one way you go, you're to start, then you've
- 26:30Speaker 2: got to finish. But a few times we saw people
- 26:32Speaker 2: coming back towards us and walked past us, and Matthew
- 26:35Speaker 2: said to our guide, what are they what's happened there?
- 26:38Speaker 2: And the guide said, well, they've got sick or they've
- 26:41Speaker 2: got injured, so they've had to go back. So Matthew
- 26:43Speaker 2: asked him, then, what was the point where it was
- 26:45Speaker 2: easy to keep going to go back? And all he
- 26:48Speaker 2: was trying to do was to get to that point
- 26:50Speaker 2: was easiest to keep going and go back.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It was amazing, but yeah, he really how long did
- 26:55Speaker 1: that take?
- 26:56Speaker 3: You?
- 26:56Speaker 1: Three nights? Or four nights. It's fantastic. That's what the girls.
- 27:00Speaker 1: You can get a train up there to can but
- 27:03Speaker 1: that you don't like, that's not the same. We got
- 27:06Speaker 1: the train back. No, that's that's kind of the point
- 27:08Speaker 1: of it is. It's not the same as carrying your
- 27:11Speaker 1: crap on your back for three days and sleeping intent.
- 27:14Speaker 2: We won't have paid people to carry our crap on
- 27:16Speaker 2: their backs. Nice okay in the local industry.
- 27:20Speaker 3: But you did say though, when you got there it
- 27:23Speaker 3: was as spectacular as it was because you had because
- 27:26Speaker 3: we earned it.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and also our guy was Grady, gave us all
- 27:29Speaker 2: the history as we went through and it was fantastic,
- 27:32Speaker 2: and yeah, we loved it.
- 27:33Speaker 1: It was so good.
- 27:34Speaker 2: And then we're on the trail for three or four nights.
- 27:37Speaker 2: The place where you where you finish, and so you finish,
- 27:41Speaker 2: you get a bust down the hill to catch the
- 27:42Speaker 2: train back to civilization. But the place at the bottom
- 27:46Speaker 2: of the hill is called Aguas Calientis, which is I'm
- 27:49Speaker 2: sure I've murdered the pronunciation, but it's Spanish for hot water.
- 27:52Speaker 2: And we just were very aroused, so perhaps you've got
- 27:55Speaker 2: it right.
- 27:58Speaker 3: God, you're an easy targer.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Oh, gosh, yeah, wait till I get my Scottish accent out,
- 28:04Speaker 1: keep that away.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Anyway, it was so good to have a shower at
- 28:09Speaker 2: the end of it. But it was amazing. It was
- 28:11Speaker 2: such so worthwhile, So they'll love it.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Is sixty k's or something. I don't know. Probably I
- 28:16Speaker 1: can't remember something, so it's pre children who can remember children?
- 28:20Speaker 1: That is, yeah, exactly. Actually, I was just listening to something.
- 28:23Speaker 1: We drove back from Orange last night and I was
- 28:25Speaker 1: listening to a podcast that I must recommend to everyone.
- 28:27Speaker 1: It's called The Lizzie Who Show, and she's interviewing Beck Melrose,
- 28:31Speaker 1: who is an amazing comedian. And Beck's story is about
- 28:35Speaker 1: how her birth photo was accidentally leaked by her partner.
- 28:39Speaker 1: So yeah, so it's a very funny story.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Oh that's her photo as in as in not holding
- 28:47Speaker 3: it on your chest nicely afterwards, No, down the wrong
- 28:52Speaker 3: end of town, down the wrong end of town, and
- 28:56Speaker 3: on all fours.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Just do you have photos of that? I don't. I
- 29:02Speaker 1: don't have any photos of that. No, I don't know either.
- 29:05Speaker 1: So so this she will in this story she does
- 29:08Speaker 1: tell I don't want to give away all of the fun,
- 29:09Speaker 1: but there is it is a very funny story, and
- 29:14Speaker 1: if you've ever been through the indignity of child burst,
- 29:17Speaker 1: there's a lot in it that you will relate to.
- 29:19Speaker 1: It's very funny. So I would recommend that I.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Remember an ex teammate of ours. We're at their house
- 29:26Speaker 3: having dinner one night. No names will be named anyway,
- 29:30Speaker 3: After a few drinks, the birth photos do come out
- 29:33Speaker 3: and they're being I don't know, they're being passed around,
- 29:37Speaker 3: and the first three people, oh, wow, isn't that amazing?
- 29:42Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, so beautiful, And I'm thinking, oh, I
- 29:44Speaker 3: don't know, we're about to look at it. It sounds good,
- 29:47Speaker 3: got it? And just looked at those three like, what
- 29:49Speaker 3: what are you looking at that I am not looking at?
- 29:52Speaker 3: It scarred me for life.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Is that why you went the zipper?
- 29:56Speaker 3: And yes, I went the sun roof? And this is
- 29:59Speaker 3: why I never look at this person the same way anymore,
- 30:03Speaker 3: and I do see them quite often.
- 30:09Speaker 1: I gave birth on sixty minutes, Yes, so, because I
- 30:14Speaker 1: had a cesarean and it was an elective cesarian, because
- 30:16Speaker 1: I was thirty eight and worried. Has these stories and
- 30:19Speaker 1: hope we've with you for twenty years. Where does this
- 30:24Speaker 1: come from? So my obstetrician contacted me sixty minutes was
- 30:29Speaker 1: doing a story on the rise of elective cesareans, and
- 30:32Speaker 1: they said, would you be interviewed? And I said, no,
- 30:34Speaker 1: I won't be interviewed because it's not a political statement.
- 30:37Speaker 1: It's just a choice that I'm making so that I
- 30:40Speaker 1: might be able to walk around in public without urine
- 30:42Speaker 1: falling out of me in coming years. I said, would
- 30:46Speaker 1: you be willing to let a temeracree in there? And
- 30:48Speaker 1: I said, I'll let a camehrou in there, but I
- 30:51Speaker 1: want the footage, I want all of it, and I
- 30:53Speaker 1: don't want my face to be shown or my husband
- 30:56Speaker 1: to be identified. So this went on, and of course
- 31:00Speaker 1: within seconds my phone is reing, oh god, oh my god.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yes that was me. That will not meant to be
- 31:06Speaker 1: identifiable as me. But how did people know they could
- 31:10Speaker 1: see me?
- 31:13Speaker 3: So did you think they were going to pixel at
- 31:15Speaker 3: your face or just not have your face in the shots?
- 31:17Speaker 1: What have the face in the shot? Yeah?
- 31:22Speaker 3: Well, least it was up the safe end. You'd rather
- 31:24Speaker 3: that than to be recognized by other things.
- 31:27Speaker 1: That's the funny thing about the cesarian though, isn't it
- 31:30Speaker 1: that you've got the sheep there and you know, up
- 31:32Speaker 1: the top end, it's all love and here's the baby
- 31:34Speaker 1: and the beautiful family moment down below. It's just gone.
- 31:41Speaker 1: So But of course, now my daughter is wondering why
- 31:44Speaker 1: the national media was not interested in filming her birth
- 31:48Speaker 1: the same way they were her brothers. Yeah, that's because
- 31:51Speaker 1: she's a second child and no one cares.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Did she come out of the sun roof as well?
- 31:55Speaker 1: Did you? Indeed, indeed we put a date in the
- 31:58Speaker 1: diary you till both sun roofs. We're not tough like you.
- 32:01Speaker 3: I remember Liz four. Was it was it Evelyn? I
- 32:05Speaker 3: don't know, but had they did the whole calm birthing
- 32:07Speaker 3: course and then went through all of that and had
- 32:11Speaker 3: Evelyn that way? And then I remember you saying afterwards,
- 32:14Speaker 3: I don't know why I did it, because it's not
- 32:16Speaker 3: like someone comes in and gives you a certificate and
- 32:18Speaker 3: a pat on the back.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Or anything like that. But a number of people who
- 32:25Speaker 1: I hear the exact same story with in going through
- 32:28Speaker 1: a natural birth and they don't want an epidural, and
- 32:30Speaker 1: then they do want an epidural, but it's too late.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I reckon it's a massive scam. I think that it's like, yeah,
- 32:36Speaker 1: you could have it anytime, but we're just going to
- 32:38Speaker 1: say it's too late. So many people have that same situation.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Maybe I never I didn't want it.
- 32:44Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I'd never occurred to me to have an EPI duol
- 32:46Speaker 1: for both of my births.
- 32:48Speaker 2: So but you know what it is like, I hate
- 32:51Speaker 2: when people tell like I want to tell you that
- 32:53Speaker 2: what I was pregnant, people to tell me their birth
- 32:55Speaker 2: horror stories, and I was like, I.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Get that it happens, not before I have one thing. No,
- 32:59Speaker 1: And I was.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Like, it happens, and I know that it can be traumatic,
- 33:02Speaker 2: but everyone's birth is different, like all the every time
- 33:05Speaker 2: you give birth, it's different. So anyway, no, I did
- 33:07Speaker 2: you don't get a certificate? It turns out, cany it
- 33:09Speaker 2: is correct, disappointed we should. We could give you a certificate.
- 33:13Speaker 2: If you take every this rugby thing, We'll give you
- 33:16Speaker 2: a certificate.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I like that, Yes, that would be good. And then
- 33:19Speaker 2: because I need something when I have to cance on
- 33:21Speaker 2: one holiday this week. Yeah, anyhow, anyway, we get to
- 33:25Speaker 2: get dressed up at a frog tonight, Catherine, So you
- 33:27Speaker 2: those for.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Me, that's very pin is not far away.
- 33:32Speaker 3: That is true, just one nap one and half away
- 33:35Speaker 3: for Elizabeth. I'm going shopping.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Are you what are shopping for?
- 33:39Speaker 3: I know, do you need a reason to go shopping?
- 33:44Speaker 3: It's my cardio for the day. I've been sitting down.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Get your steps up and when you're back, when do
- 33:51Speaker 1: you guys leave? Apparently Australia's happiest city. Have you heard this?
- 33:54Speaker 1: Apparently Melbourne is Australia's happiest city.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I think coffee drinkers said that, Well, that's pretty cool.
- 33:59Speaker 1: People. People are pretty chill in Melbourne. I reckon.
- 34:03Speaker 3: It's very gray. It's not all the time.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Maybe you have to smell big just because it's the
- 34:07Speaker 2: weather's grown.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 1: True.
- 34:09Speaker 3: I did love my eight months that I lived here,
- 34:11Speaker 3: I must say loved it.
- 34:12Speaker 1: And it's very it feels.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Very different in that everything you need is in the city,
- 34:17Speaker 3: like your mcgs, you know your Olympic venues or you
- 34:21Speaker 3: know where they played the tennis and all the sports
- 34:23Speaker 3: all in the city. It's not so it doesn't feel
- 34:25Speaker 3: as spread out as Sydney is, for instance.
- 34:27Speaker 1: I will say that was one of the most sensational
- 34:29Speaker 1: things about the Super NEPWL Grand Final this year was
- 34:33Speaker 1: to be able to I was staying in Flinders Street.
- 34:36Speaker 1: We're out for lunch. Then we walked down and then everybody,
- 34:38Speaker 1: you know, there's people coming from the city. That was
- 34:42Speaker 1: That was That was great. I do dispute the happiest
- 34:45Speaker 1: city in Australia though, I would say Perth pretty cheerful. Yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 1: you wouldn't care less about whether you think they're cheerful
- 34:53Speaker 1: or not. But Perth people are pretty happy home. But
- 34:57Speaker 1: you're going to get out in amongst it and you
- 34:59Speaker 1: can report back to us on that. So we will
- 35:02Speaker 1: next week be able to talk about the headlines that
- 35:04Speaker 1: will come out of you guys tonight. So keep nice
- 35:08Speaker 1: and we'll be able to talk about the what the
- 35:11Speaker 1: wrap up of the England and New Zealand Test series
- 35:14Speaker 1: that's going to be very interesting.
- 35:16Speaker 3: And what shenanigans you got up to in Perth and.
- 35:18Speaker 1: What shenanigans I get up to in Perth. That's right,
- 35:20Speaker 1: that's very exciting. So oh, yes, I'm worried about the cricket.
- 35:24Speaker 1: But anyway, well have fun. You two go. Liza is
- 35:27Speaker 1: going to have a nap and then you're going to
- 35:29Speaker 1: will you get dressed and then go for a drink.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Or will you have a little drink while you're getting dressed.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Oh that's a.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Good idea now thinking, Yeah, when you're when you're shopping,
- 35:38Speaker 1: you might need to I'll find a roadie. Yeah, okay,
- 35:41Speaker 1: had some pree girls and you're have you got?
- 35:45Speaker 3: God? It's like.
- 35:48Speaker 2: The tunes, Yeah, except I do need to keep myself
- 35:52Speaker 2: remotely nice whether I have to go up with the stage.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Later, but that's okay, I've got time to I do
- 35:57Speaker 1: not pull it in. Yeah, but we're gonna put photos
- 36:00Speaker 1: on our instead of geitsy being gorgeous and stuff. Yeah.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I saw her getting ready this morning, very early. I
- 36:07Speaker 3: think they've had another function or something today. Oh, yes,
- 36:10Speaker 3: they do you get in?
- 36:12Speaker 1: You didn't have the.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Dinner, did you. I was a COVID inductee, so I
- 36:15Speaker 3: missed out on this big fancy dinner.
- 36:17Speaker 1: So what happened for you, Cath? What was yours?
- 36:19Speaker 3: The state based ones, so it was just the New
- 36:23Speaker 3: South Wales contingent, so people that were already inducted, and
- 36:26Speaker 3: then the New South Wales ones that were being inducted.
- 36:29Speaker 3: So it was tiny, but it was it was a magic,
- 36:31Speaker 3: It was beautiful. I have lots of friends and family
- 36:33Speaker 3: there and it was unreal. But it's this is next
- 36:36Speaker 3: level on steroids event down here. When everybody comes, it's
- 36:40Speaker 3: like nine hundred people. It's absolutely massive. So it's a
- 36:45Speaker 3: very very special night for Guidsy.
- 36:47Speaker 1: That's very exciting. I wish I was there. That's very fun.
- 36:50Speaker 1: But yet look forward to hearing all about that. Keep
- 36:54Speaker 1: yourselves nice, won't you?
- 36:56Speaker 3: We will or not?
- 36:57Speaker 1: We'll try. All right, Well, I think that's probably all
- 37:00Speaker 1: that we've got time for this week. We've talked about nipple.
- 37:03Speaker 1: We try not to get a rest. Is Julie Fitzgerald
- 37:06Speaker 1: there to pick you up?
- 37:07Speaker 3: No, but we don't. We're literally staying in the hotels.
- 37:10Speaker 3: If we can't get home from there. There's something that's
- 37:12Speaker 3: gone horribly wrong.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Yes, and we're actually staying on the same floor, which
- 37:16Speaker 1: is dangerous.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:17Speaker 2: So AnyWho, the stories we could tell you about this hotel,
- 37:21Speaker 2: but we're not.
- 37:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 37:23Speaker 1: We'll go have fun and we will get together. We
- 37:25Speaker 1: will reconvene here, potentially catering properly here next all. Liz,
- 37:29Speaker 1: you're not here next week, are you? We've got a
- 37:31Speaker 1: special guest in your place next week? So do we think.
- 37:35Speaker 3: We can tell people? I think we can tell people
- 37:37Speaker 3: who are co host is.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Can't we? Sure? Yes, sure, We're.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Having Kearly Devery join us for the whole episode, former
- 37:45Speaker 3: Australian Diamond and just all time awesome chick, so that
- 37:49Speaker 3: will be fun.
- 37:50Speaker 1: She's the O G funny goalkeeper. Yeah, god mother of
- 37:53Speaker 1: no dribble he is. Yes, you guys can tell that
- 37:57Speaker 1: story next week. Yep. All right, Well I'm Caroline's window,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I'm kept up, I'm lose Allas. Bye bye, guys, have
- 38:03Speaker 1: a great wake triple bye
