- Chris Laker: I didn't just wake up. c a friend of mine texted me this morning that he was not far away over on Melrose at a sneaker drop. And I was I'll hang out with you while you wait for sneakers. I've never been to a sneaker drop, but I've waited on lines. It's basically the same thing. Except at the end of this line, there was sneakers. Every time I bought sneakers, I've just gone into the store and said, Hey, I want those. size ten or ten and a half. You don't get to try on the sneakers at a sneaker drop. You gotta know your size and hope for the best. So I waited online with my friend. He got his sneakers. Everything was cool. Now I'm home. I'm in bed because this is the studio. I don't know where else to record. I put on the same clothes I was sleeping in. Home shorts and a sleep t shirt. I'm in the vibe, but I am not just waking up. So I apologize. I try to do it when I'm just waking up. Sometimes schedule doesn't allow. But I still do a show, damn it. 'Cause I'm a professional. and it's important to me that yeah, it's Saturday. You still get a show. and more people are listening or watching or whatever, or whatever. No, it's one of those two things. I don't know why I threw a whatever at the end. I throw whatever on the end of things that don't need whatevers. There's the two things, and I want there to be a third thing, so I say. Whatever sometimes there's only one thing. And I'll say, or whatever, even though it is just the one thing. And it's I don't know. I don't have anything else to say, but I want to keep talking. So or whatever. it's a verbal crutch. I have many. I like to talk about them when they come up because I find them frustrating. And I hate that I use them and I don't want you to think that they don't annoy me if they stand out to you. If they don't stand out, the likes, the amount of likes I use. Yeah, I'm not happy about that. I try to edit them out sometimes of here and it's too difficult because it's like I s it'll just kind of be a part of the next word and it'll just be two clips all right, there's more likes in there. Jacqueline Novak on her special Get On Your Knees has a great bit about likes, about saying like. So watch that. If you have not seen Jacqueline Novak's Get on Your Knees on Netflix, I'm an executive producer, so you should watch it. And if you have seen it, give it another watch. it's a very rewatchable comedy special. Most comedy specials you see once you go back again, you're like, it's I think I'm good. I feel like a lot of people get to me through Jacqueline Novak So you've probably seen it already. And I love that. Thank you. I have no problem with Jacqueline being more successful than me. Would I rather be more successful? Yeah. Would I rather her be less successful than me now? No. and Jacqueline great fans. They're very cool people. I would like all of them to be a fan of me. That would be ideal. If everybody who was a fan of Jacqueline Novak also became equally a fan of me. I don't know why you wouldn't. She's a fan of me. It would only make sense. like what are you doing? I mean, not you, you're here. And maybe you're not a fan of Jacqueline. But if you're not a fan of Jacqueline Novak, you should be. Also. Not to be selfish, anybody who's a fan of me, I would like them to be equally a fan of Jacqueline Novak it's not a one way street. Well, you're here now, and that's great. And thank you. Always appreciate it. I'm gonna say it now as as opposed to at the end. Like, rate, subscribe. Whatever the things you you know, all the things you do for podcasts, people say, like us here, rate us there. You know the things. Do do all those things, please. I really please. Go to go to Apple Podcast, give a five star review. Things like that. if you don't, that's fine. I've heard this call to action many times on podcasts and I've done nothing. So I can't be mad at you. I don't know who's looking around at podcast reviews and saying, this sounds good. I'm gonna You just listen to it and you like it and you don't like it. I've never read a podcast review that wasn't from my podcast. and usually those are pretty good. I've had other podcasts that were more popular than this one that had more reviews, and sometimes people would be like kind of negative. Like, what why why are you mad at my podcast? All right. Let's get to the news. Second crane topples onto Florida home while trying to remove first fallen crane. Cranes fall, I feel like more than they should. They should never fall. It should never happen. Yet sometimes it does. Two, onto a house. This is another reason why I don't want to own a house. You got a crane falling on it. You gotta get it off of there. It's on you. And now you're running out of crane companies. The first crane company craps out on you, you call the neck next one. No good. how many crane companies do you have in this place in Florida? I know there's a lot of construction there. Also not a lot of regulation. Maybe that's why the cranes are falling. If you rent Crane Falls, call the landlord and you say, I'm out of here. All right, you got a crane on your house. Not my problem. I'm already on Zillow finding a new place. Pennsylvania measles outbreak grows to eight hundred and ninety cases with fifty five new infections. that's a lot of measles. well, a lot of Pennsylvania really is backcountry nothing. that's a quote from an author, I forget his name. Philadelphia on one side, Pittsburgh on the other, Kentucky in the middle. that's Pennsylvania. And most people live on one of those two sides. I mean, most people live on the Philadelphia side. Who started this vaccine thing? Who was the first person to get all like weird about measles vaccines? 'Cause that did not exist before. I've said a lot of terrible things about RFK Jr. on this podcast, and I stand by all of them, but I don't feel like repeating them right now. you can imagine what they are. All the things about RFK Jr. that people say bad. I agree with those things. And I I don't wish him well. It would be great if he got measles. Lula Band's fixed odds sports betting a week before Brazilian elections. Seems they did research in Brazil and they found most people lose money from betting. So they don't want it there. I guess the Brazilian people are not very good at betting on sports. Here in America, very good. I think I think more people win than lose. I think it's you're very likely to make money. And I am sponsored by FanDuel, Prize Picks, DraftKings, MGM, Polymarket. Cal She, Novig, that one that has Sydney Sweeney naked in the commercials. I'm sponsored by all of these places. That has nothing to do with my opinion on sports betting. And I'm not sure about that statistic that more people win than lose. I don't know. But I think it's true. It feels true. And you will probably win. if you use one of those apps and use my code overslept. I'm joking. They're not really sponsor. I don't have any sp I'm against sports betting. some people take this show very seriously. And I see that in YouTube com I don't get a lot of YouTube comments. I'm not like, I'm BBC. But sometimes YouTube comments, people are very literal. I don't know if that's a spectrum thing or it's just like my tone But understand, I am joking. I'm not sponsored by those things. I don't like them. And sports betting is bad. And if you have a problem, call the hotline. I don't know the number. I'll look up the n I'm not gonna look up the number right now. Now I'm gonna look up the number. All right. National Problem Gambling Helpline one eight hundred my reset. So you can call one eight hundred my reset if you've got a gambling problem and talk to them. That's one eight hundred five two four seven zero zero. I don't think that spells my reset. maybe check that out. I don't know if that's specific to California 1-800 Gambler. 1-800 Gambler is either a gambling hotline or more sports betting. So you can call one of those things, get help if you got a gambling problem. it's an addiction that makes you money sometimes. that's a Norm McDonald joke. gambling addiction is a disease, but it's the only disease that you could also win a bunch of money. Some I've I'm butchering the joke. Norm MacDonald, rest in peace. One of the greats. New research finds four hundred and eighty five chemicals in US pesticide products linked to breast cancer. And Roundup has been made a vegetable by the current administration. They have said that's fine. They could do no pesticides or safer pesticides probably, that would cost more money. Which would you rather have? Cheaper food or no cancer? I mean you gotta pick one. spend more money on food and not get cancer. Spend less money on food. Maybe. And either way you might get it. You still might get it. So why not take the chance? Have the cheaper food. You're not gonna get it while you're eating the food. It'll be later, so you won't really have the cause and effect in your mind so you won't feel like, I should have bought the organic. you're not gonna know exactly where it came from. they're not gonna say, it's from the pesticides. They say you got cancer. maybe it's your fucking genetics. May have you thought of that before you go blaming the pesticides. It's not always the pesticides fault Man arrested six years after his wife remains were found in a crawl space. Six years. This dude must have thought he was in the clear. his wife goes missing. Okay, he's gotta do that whole thing. I'm the husband. Where's my wife? I don't know. what could have happened to her? I hope she's okay. They find her body, her remains No arrest for six years. After three years, you gotta think guess I got away with this if he did it, which we don't know. six years. You're just hanging I guess I didn't even kill her And then the cops show up have been in jail for six years that he wasn't in jail. He's not gonna get the maximum s if he killed his wife, he got away with a lot of time. So actually got a good deal out of it. But six years. I mean took that long to build the cake. It's always husband,
