- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode of Learn Spanish with Fexingo? Luna: Absolutely! I've been practicing my park vocabulary from last time. La fuente, el banco, la papelera... got it. Lucas: Nice work. Today we're going to add three more things you might see at a park or playground. Let's start with la cancha. Luna: La cancha. That sounds like a court, right? Like a basketball court? Lucas: Exactly. La cancha can be a basketball court, a soccer field, a tennis court. So, la cancha. Luna: La cancha. Got it. I can picture kids playing on a cancha. Lucas: Perfect. Next: el columpio. You've heard this before — it's the swing. Luna: El columpio. Right, we had that in a much earlier episode. El columpio, the swing. Lucas: Yep. And last one: la pelota. The ball. Luna: La pelota. That's easy. I love la pelota — I mean, playing ball. Lucas: Good. So we have la cancha, el columpio, and la pelota. Let's put them into action. Repeat after me: Juegan en la cancha. Luna: Juegan en la cancha. 'They play on the court.' Got it. Lucas: Now: Él se sube al columpio. Luna: Él se sube al columpio. 'He gets on the swing.' That's a bit of a mouthful. Él se sube al columpio. Lucas: You got it. And finally: Ella patea la pelota. Luna: Ella patea la pelota. 'She kicks the ball.' I like that one. Ella patea la pelota. Lucas: Perfect. So let's imagine a little scene. Two kids, Ana and Luis, are at the park. Ana patea la pelota on la cancha. Luis se sube al columpio. Luna: Oh, I can see it. Ana kicking the ball, Luis swinging. Juegan en el parque. Lucas: Exactly. Now, let's practice the phrases again. Juegan en la cancha. Luna: Juegan en la cancha. Lucas: Él se sube al columpio. Luna: Él se sube al columpio. Lucas: Ella patea la pelota. Luna: Ella patea la pelota. Lucas: You know, it's great that we can do this every day. We get to help people learn Spanish, and it's all thanks to listeners who support the show. Luna: Yeah, it's amazing. A few listeners chip in monthly through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, and that's what keeps these episodes ad-free and coming. Lucas: Exactly. If Fexingo has been helping you make progress, consider joining them. It really makes a difference. Luna: For sure. Now back to the park — so Ana and Luis, right? Ana patea la pelota, Luis se sube al columpio. Lucas: Right. And you could say: Ellos juegan en la cancha. They play on the court. Luna: Ellos juegan en la cancha. So that's the whole scene. Lucas: Yes. Let's do one more round. Repeat: Juegan en la cancha. Luna: Juegan en la cancha. Lucas: Él se sube al columpio. Luna: Él se sube al columpio. Lucas: Ella patea la pelota. Luna: Ella patea la pelota. Lucas: Awesome. Practice these, and next time you're at a park, you'll be able to describe what's happening in Spanish. Luna: Yeah, I'm going to use la cancha and el columpio and la pelota. Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: You're welcome. Keep practicing, and we'll see you next time on Learn Spanish with Fexingo.
