- 0:09Speaker 3: Thanks for child Today runner.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, man, absolutely, So you're.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Just about to wind up your Australian Motochor tonight in Sydney, mate,
- 0:17Speaker 4: So how the show's been.
- 0:19Speaker 1: They've been incredible, you know, like usually America is our
- 0:26Speaker 1: most kind of like hype benchmark, but Australia's absolutely met
- 0:29Speaker 1: that and maybe probably exceeded it.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So I am beyond happy to be able to experience
- 0:35Speaker 2: the shows.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And I'm really glad that you know that the long
- 0:37Speaker 1: track out here, you know, they brought the energy that
- 0:40Speaker 1: we need.
- 0:40Speaker 2: So it's been great.
- 0:42Speaker 4: No, so that's your first time bringing Bill Murray, it's
- 0:45Speaker 4: your Australia. So did you have any expectations before you
- 0:47Speaker 4: came out?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Not really, man, Honestly, Like we put the tour up
- 0:52Speaker 1: on sale and I was like, I don't know if
- 0:54Speaker 1: anyone's going to come out to this, We'll see and
- 0:56Speaker 1: it's sold out in one day. So it's uh, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: honestly been like wildly beyond my expectations and the shows
- 1:04Speaker 1: have been incredible and I just love the country as well.
- 1:06Speaker 1: So it's just been great man. Definitely, uh, one of
- 1:11Speaker 1: the one for the history books, at least for me.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I was gonna say, like, you look if you'd sold
- 1:17Speaker 4: out stairs and upgraded venues a couple of months before
- 1:20Speaker 4: you even pay me out.
- 1:20Speaker 3: So it's gonna be a good feeling, like traveling halfway.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Around the world and knowing that you're welcome and people
- 1:26Speaker 4: are actually waiting for you.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's a horrible feeling.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Man, terrible.
- 1:33Speaker 2: It's amazing, man.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It's like the love from from all the people who
- 1:36Speaker 1: come out to the shows is incredible, dude, And just.
- 1:39Speaker 2: To be able to experience that is great.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Man, Like just genuinely waking up every morning and a
- 1:44Speaker 1: journal and I'm just like thank very thankful for all
- 1:47Speaker 1: of it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been an amazing experience.
- 1:50Speaker 4: No, it's now I'm gonna put you on the spot
- 1:51Speaker 4: a little bit, mate, because you always see Ben's choking
- 1:54Speaker 4: when they play in Brisbane and the crawd Last nighting
- 1:56Speaker 4: Seidney was wild world.
- 1:57Speaker 3: The audience was louder in Melbourne.
- 1:59Speaker 4: So here's your chance to set the record straight, mate,
- 2:02Speaker 4: Like you played birth Ristvan Adelaide in Melbourne so far,
- 2:05Speaker 4: rich Town has been the loudest.
- 2:08Speaker 2: For sure.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, I didn't even editate.
- 2:12Speaker 1: They were insane. And also I mean we played the
- 2:15Speaker 1: Forum too, which was one of the most beautiful venues
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've ever seen. So it was just a very magical night.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We'll see if Sidney brings it tonight. I think they will,
- 2:24Speaker 1: But yeah, I would say Melbourne for sure, or is
- 2:28Speaker 1: in America say Melbourne Melbourne?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah? Every time someone says that, I think a child.
- 2:32Speaker 4: But so if anybody who might have missed out on
- 2:37Speaker 4: your show so far, or he's on the fence about
- 2:40Speaker 4: going tonight, like ron Esster, a typical Bill Murray live
- 2:43Speaker 4: show and what to expect, uh do.
- 2:46Speaker 1: You can't really know what to expect, Honestly. You can
- 2:49Speaker 1: expect us to bring a lot of energy and for
- 2:53Speaker 1: the crowd to be amazing because everyone that comes to
- 2:55Speaker 1: Bill Murray shows they are great people. So you'll probably
- 2:59Speaker 1: make some friends and you'll hear some fucking sick riffs
- 3:01Speaker 1: and some good vibes.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Steve Nice Nice Now, have you had time to get
- 3:05Speaker 4: out and see the sights way you've been Hi made
- 3:07Speaker 4: or has.
- 3:07Speaker 3: It just been all stages and hotel rooms.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Where should I go?
- 3:11Speaker 4: Man? I have not Well right, I'm in Brisbane, mate,
- 3:15Speaker 4: So if you're still in Brizi, I'll be able to
- 3:16Speaker 4: take you wherever you wanted to go.
- 3:17Speaker 3: But Sydney I don't think much about.
- 3:21Speaker 1: We haven't really been able to go much spend hotels
- 3:24Speaker 1: and airplanes and all that. But I mean, you know,
- 3:27Speaker 1: getting to eat food here, Your guys' food is incredible,
- 3:30Speaker 1: So I've I've done a food tour of Australia.
- 3:35Speaker 3: That's it up.
- 3:37Speaker 4: People out there might know you better from your time
- 3:39Speaker 4: and Attack Attack, but you've been doing Bill Murray now
- 3:41Speaker 4: since twenty sixteen, mate, So what made you decide to
- 3:44Speaker 4: start this project as opposed to joining an insisting band
- 3:47Speaker 4: back then?
- 3:49Speaker 1: Because I'm a selfish, egotistic, narcissistic man. Reason But no,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I well, I mean to be honest with you, I
- 4:00Speaker 1: like having control over everything. So that was a big
- 4:03Speaker 1: thing where It's like I felt like a lot of
- 4:05Speaker 1: times I would always be fighting someone to have something.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You know, I'm like, I think this idea is good
- 4:11Speaker 1: and I don't want to have to fight a bunch
- 4:12Speaker 1: of people to like do it.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I just want to do it.
- 4:14Speaker 1: So I think that was like a lot of the
- 4:16Speaker 1: beginning of Bill Murray is just kind of, you know,
- 4:20Speaker 1: making exactly what I want to do, how I want
- 4:22Speaker 1: to do it, and you know, having that final say,
- 4:25Speaker 1: maybe having a little bit more control than I did
- 4:27Speaker 1: previously in other projects.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Felt really good.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So that and then I just felt like I had,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know, things to get off my chest emotionally and
- 4:36Speaker 1: all that, So figure, why not start start a project where.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I can do that.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Yeah, you've been called a genre defining band in terms
- 4:45Speaker 4: of your music, but is that something that you set
- 4:47Speaker 4: out to do or is it just the way things
- 4:49Speaker 4: panned out for your music?
- 4:50Speaker 1: Clean honestly kind of try to just make things that
- 4:53Speaker 1: make me happy, and you know it's not going to
- 4:56Speaker 1: usually exist in one genre or another or you know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: whatever it is. I kind of just try to make
- 5:01Speaker 1: something that I enjoy and let people define it how
- 5:04Speaker 1: they want to.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and you've pleased forteen albums in those eight years, mate,
- 5:09Speaker 4: So if I'm doing the math correctly, you shoot up
- 5:11Speaker 4: in your album coming out next week or the week.
- 5:13Speaker 2: After, We'll see man, you'll have to be able to
- 5:17Speaker 2: say too. And we've got some stuff cooking, though.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Maybe you've always been start prolific creatively mat or is
- 5:23Speaker 4: that something that's coming to age.
- 5:25Speaker 1: So I I've always been like, I'm always creating things
- 5:30Speaker 1: because where I live is a shittle so I get
- 5:32Speaker 1: bored a lot, and I just like, you know, it
- 5:35Speaker 1: to be a Saturday night and there's nothing going on,
- 5:36Speaker 1: so I'm just gonna go make music because that's the
- 5:38Speaker 1: most one thing I can do in the moment.
- 5:40Speaker 2: So I'm kind of always doing that. But I haven't
- 5:43Speaker 2: made always been music for myself.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I've produced for ten years in between Attack Attack and
- 5:47Speaker 1: Bill Murray for other people and kind of built that
- 5:50Speaker 1: skill up and now, you know, kind of switched over
- 5:52Speaker 1: to be able to use that skill for myself. But yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know, I'm always making something because I get bored easily.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So that's the way to cure boredom.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Touch on this before, But you bringing a lot of
- 6:06Speaker 4: stars and genres together, from metal, chord and pop park
- 6:08Speaker 4: indie rock, there's electronics, toutry. Music's in there, ture, But
- 6:12Speaker 4: how hard is it to get that balance ride into
- 6:14Speaker 4: creative process? Like how do you know when you're going
- 6:16Speaker 4: too far one way or maybe not far enough another direction.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, there's definitely a lot of bang in your head
- 6:22Speaker 1: against the wall force because you don't want, you know,
- 6:24Speaker 1: if you're gonna do like country, you don't want it
- 6:26Speaker 1: to feel inauthentic. You want it to feel like you know,
- 6:29Speaker 1: I care about this genre. I'm not trying to like
- 6:32Speaker 1: slap a cowboy hat on something and call it country.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I'm trying to like actually pay respects to the genre
- 6:37Speaker 1: because I love it. So there's definitely that. I mean, like,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I spend a lot of time, you know, adjusting things
- 6:46Speaker 1: slightly because I do feel like it's kind of a
- 6:48Speaker 1: tight rope walk to make things feel authentic too. I
- 6:51Speaker 1: don't know, this song will tell you what it wants.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And the song sometimes it yells and sometimes it whispers.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But uh, you know, as long as you're keeping your
- 6:58Speaker 1: ego away from it and trying to pay attention to
- 7:01Speaker 1: what it wants, you know you can give it that.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 4: All right, now, we mentioned this is your last show
- 7:06Speaker 4: in Australia tonight, bro, So what's next for Bill Murray?
- 7:09Speaker 3: Mate? What do you got planned after a Shia?
- 7:12Speaker 1: A lot of festivals in the States. We've got some
- 7:15Speaker 1: music coming as well. But you know, we wanted some
- 7:19Speaker 1: thick riffs before we hit all these summer dates.
- 7:21Speaker 2: So we've got some music.
- 7:24Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I got to do the cryptic thing for you that
- 7:29Speaker 2: you just have to, yeah, you know, play the game.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Eh.
- 7:33Speaker 1: But yeah, we've got some music coming out. But a
- 7:35Speaker 1: lot of festivals in the summer and got little ploues
- 7:37Speaker 1: and Bonaroo and all that stuff.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So I was very very excited for all that nice bar.
- 7:42Speaker 4: All right, Well thanks you. Time hadn't been a pleasure
- 7:44Speaker 4: chatting with you. A show in Sydney tonight, it is
- 7:46Speaker 4: the last one. There's a limited tickets on the door,
- 7:49Speaker 4: so get yourself one now, otherwise you're going to miss
- 7:51Speaker 4: out on this beautiful small face.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Man.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I appreciate you.
