- 0:00SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying this is a big stir the pot kind of day, but it just so happens I got another one that's gonna possibly stir the pot a little bit because I think don't we don't we look at things and say pettiness is one of those un uh unattractive qualities that people can carry?
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: Usually, but sometimes sometimes I do like to be a petty bitch.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: Okay, and it depends on what the situation is.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: I I wouldn't say that it's it's uh uh something I I carry on my back all the time.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: It's not you as a regular, right?
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: Sometimes you gotta pull it out of your pocket, though.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: I want you to listen to this therapist.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: All right, mind you, it's a TikTok therapist, so you know.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Hey, therapist nonetheless.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, nothing, you know, it's like a TikTok lawyer.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Good luck with that.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, but anyway, I want you to hear this.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: I've won 19 cases in my head with those.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: In your head.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: But I want you to uh after you hear this, I'm curious to see if you feel either a justified or if you feel, nope, it's still wrong.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I still need to try to do better.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Or well, here, take a listen.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: There's almost nothing more important in life than being petty.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Being petty allows you to get people back for the negative things that they do to you.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: This is a natural circle of life that is needed in society.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Taking the high road is one of the most ignorant and illogical things to do, unless the person is so below you that you going past them and succeeding actually breaks their heart.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: The key is to not let the pettiness or disrespect that you receive cause you to lose your mind.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: The key is to convert that energy into success and abundance, and when the time comes, deliver the blow back to them.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: This will complete the cycle and balance karma between the relationship.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: And at that point, y'all might be able to rekindle things, or you just leave them in the dust.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: But regardless, it is important to be a little petty.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna guess that rekindling probably won't happen.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: I was you took the words out of my mouth.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: As far as being petty.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Not in a very secure rekindling.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: But here's what I I believe in my heart is that shouldn't we let things go in order for us to according to him.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: But I I hear that.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: But if I hold on to something, then it's gonna start to affect me and my mind and my body.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: He directly addresses that.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: He's saying you don't hold on to it.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: You you you may save it for a little while to deliver that that blow back because essentially what happens with being petty is you were affected by another petty person.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: Yes, but I feel like if I'm hold if I Okay.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: I feel like if I'm being petty, that's me holding on to it.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Until you deliver the blowback.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Okay, and then yeah, so we're definitely not rekindling anything.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: I bet you not.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: I also the one thing I do like about it, it is some slight justification.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: And I'm gonna give you an example of my own life.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I know that there have been a couple times there have been long, long, long X's ago that I've might have said a snarky comment.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: And I feel pretty petty and justify- snarky petty.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: I feel pretty snarky and petty and justified all in the same sentence.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: And the reason is because I feel like, well, you did that to me, so it's not that I'm trying to, it's not that I'm trying to hold on to it, but it's like, eh, it's my way of going, suck a fart.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Well, okay.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: What you're describing is snarky in the moment.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: And a little petty.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: Well well, yes, but it from the description that he gave of being petty, it's almost like you're creating a calculated plan to deal with the person that wronged you or was petty to you, and then either you leave and keep going forward and it's out out of your way, or you rekindle, which we both agree probably won't happen.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: So that what's good about it.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Snarky in the moment makes you feel good.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you feel bad a little bit later.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: You're like, oh not usually.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Not usually.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Petty bitch.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: But there's a there's a little difference here.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: I think he's describing it as planning your calculated, I almost want to say revenge.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Because not revenge, though.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: It actually sounds like it's opening up some conversations to say you did me wrong.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: And I Well, Snarky's not gonna do that.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Snarky makes you feel good in the moment with the comment.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Kind of like the Scott and Alley not for air podcast that you guys need to listen to.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Yep, that was a good one.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: You can call me petty and whatever.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: But that's the but that's the problem.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: When I have something, like it's not it's not all relationships.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: There is somebody that her and I don't get along.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: We just don't.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: I can't get along with everyone.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: Sorry, not sorry.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Anyway, I mean that's shocking.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: I I think sometimes we are in the same space, and I don't I don't want to to conversate about it.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: So you having that opportunity really doesn't happen, does it?
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Do you open yourself up to have that conversation with somebody who was petty to you?
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Usually I just avoid them.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: You shared your personal experience.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: I will as very lightly as possible dance near a subject that I will, and I've said I'll never talk about on the show or the podcast, but I will dance near it.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: I could have been considered to be petty for a situation.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: However, I was so wronged by the situation and blindsided wronged in the beginning that no, quite frankly, what I was doing, I can justify now as you can call it petty, but I'm looking at it as though hey, this is what had to be done to resolve the situation.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Sorry the other person didn't like the outcome.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: But not sorry.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: But but not sorry, you're right.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: And also not necessarily rekindling anything.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: But did you actually talk to them face to face and say one, two, three?
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: It was one, it was blow after blow after blow, and then obviously there was a higher authority involved in solving the solution.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: However, I had to bring forward all the information and you felt good about it.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Some people might say, well, that might have seemed petty.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: No, it really wasn't.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: It was bringing out the facts of where this derailed and went terribly wrong, and you're not right.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: And did you feel good about it?
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Damn right I did.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: Well, that tracks for you.
