- 0:09Speaker 1: All right, now, I remember sometime last week there was
- 0:15Speaker 1: some politician I didn't check who it was, when people
- 0:19Speaker 1: were complaining about Trump's tweets with bad language in them. Yeah,
- 0:23Speaker 1: he said, get over it, people, That's just how people talk.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I've walked down the street here in New York this
- 0:30Speaker 1: morning and heard that word nine time.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I say that because I'd like to play the new
- 0:36Speaker 1: Rick and Morty trailer for you.
- 0:39Speaker 2: But it's got that word in it. But according to
- 0:41Speaker 2: that guy, everybody's heard the words. So I don't know
- 0:43Speaker 2: what to do. I don't think you can play it.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I can play a little bit of it here. So
- 0:48Speaker 2: a brand new season of Rick and Morty is coming.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Let me, please, don't take me to join some kind
- 0:56Speaker 1: of rebellion. So the theme of season nine of Rick
- 1:05Speaker 1: and Morty is anything is possible. When everything is possible.
- 1:10Speaker 1: One hundred years of Rick and Morty continues.
- 1:14Speaker 3: If you put that in for defense or for five,
- 1:25Speaker 3: whatever you're doing out here is broken.
- 1:26Speaker 2: The garbage disposal.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Season nine baby only an indefinite number more.
- 1:35Speaker 2: That trip was supposed to be dead at one point,
- 1:37Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It kind of was because the creator and the voices
- 1:42Speaker 1: of Rick and or Mordy were Dan somebody, No, not
- 1:45Speaker 1: Dan Harmon.
- 1:46Speaker 2: He's the co creator. Was I can't remember his name now,
- 1:49Speaker 2: there's a little lot of it from my head. There's
- 1:51Speaker 2: me too. It was me too.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But they got rid of him and they recast the
- 1:55Speaker 1: two voices and Rick and Morty and they sound exactly
- 1:59Speaker 1: like him. They expanded the writer's room, and Dan Harmon says,
- 2:03Speaker 1: thank god, these young people are in here taking care
- 2:05Speaker 1: of this show.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I can't keep.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Track of all the multiverses and everything that we created
- 2:10Speaker 1: in the first seasons, so they're here to take care
- 2:13Speaker 1: of it for me.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Anyway. Season nine.
- 2:17Speaker 1: One we can play for you is you know the
- 2:21Speaker 1: show One Piece on Netflix.
- 2:23Speaker 2: It's huge one Piece.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It's based on a Japanese manga, but it's live action,
- 2:29Speaker 1: live act and Netflix has done this, but they have
- 2:34Speaker 1: revealed the third season of the main live action series.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's going to be titled One Piece The Battle of Alabasta,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and that will be arriving sometime next year. But if
- 2:43Speaker 1: you're a straw hat, as they're called fans of One Piece,
- 2:49Speaker 1: there is a new special coming which will be animated
- 2:55Speaker 1: but in lego. Yeah. Season two of the show ended
- 3:02Speaker 1: with Luffy and the straw Hat Crew heading to the
- 3:04Speaker 1: desert kingdom of Alabasta. Third season will deal with a
- 3:08Speaker 1: rebellion that threatens Alabasta.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But in the meantime, the bravest man in the East
- 3:13Speaker 2: Blue and true builder of this adventure try the Crew.
- 3:20Speaker 2: It changed the course of everyone's life. Blue Fool?
- 3:25Speaker 1: What no new animated special? Lego one Piece? It's a
- 3:30Speaker 1: Netflix first.
- 3:31Speaker 2: East Blue Save sup Village.
- 3:34Speaker 1: A two part animated special which premieres on September twenty nine,
- 3:38Speaker 1: produced in partnership with the Lego group.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So you know you don't have to wait.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So long for your fresh one piece story. You can
- 3:48Speaker 1: watch it in Lego and I'm sure no one will complain.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Oh no, no.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Now The Boys has debuted the final season of The
- 3:58Speaker 1: Boys on Amimu huh and the co creator of the show,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Eric Kripke, is being interviewed and he said, it's not
- 4:09Speaker 1: great when the world out crazy is a show that
- 4:12Speaker 1: has exploding penises.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Well, I think I'd have to agree with that.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, final season of the Boys hadn't been written before
- 4:21Speaker 1: the election. You might think that the new episodes are
- 4:25Speaker 1: a bit too on the nose. I mean federal troops
- 4:28Speaker 1: being sent to American cities, on desirables being rounded up
- 4:31Speaker 1: and sent to freedom camps, white House press briefings that
- 4:35Speaker 1: devolve into jeering, gaslighting sessions, and leading the country is
- 4:39Speaker 1: a megalomaniac homelander who might be going insane. But Eric
- 4:46Speaker 1: Kripke says, no, we didn't. We didn't plan this. This
- 4:50Speaker 1: is just this is just happening right in front of us.
- 4:52Speaker 1: He says, it's not a great feeling. It's a sinking feeling,
- 4:55Speaker 1: never a great when the world out Crazy is a
- 4:57Speaker 1: superhero show with exploding penises.
- 4:59Speaker 2: The stuff that has come to pass since.
- 5:01Speaker 1: We wrote it, including in tournament camps, sending federal troops
- 5:05Speaker 1: into cities, tiny references like that clown in charge of
- 5:08Speaker 1: the military. In the show, there's a character named General Mayhem,
- 5:13Speaker 1: who is.
- 5:14Speaker 2: In charge of the military.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Says, when you think of the clown currently in charge,
- 5:17Speaker 1: the effing Secretary of War.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Because we need because.
- 5:22Speaker 1: He needs to be extra macho with his title changing
- 5:25Speaker 1: from Secretary to Defense. When we were writing the season,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I swear I'm not making this up. We generally thought
- 5:30Speaker 1: this is.
- 5:31Speaker 2: A little out there.
- 5:33Speaker 1: No, actually, it's become speculative fiction now, so he apologizes.
- 5:38Speaker 2: But watch the Boys. It's on now.
- 5:41Speaker 1: If you have the HBO Max and you're a fan
- 5:43Speaker 1: of the Alien movies.
- 5:46Speaker 2: The Alien three.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Assembly Cut just quietly dropped, no announcement. I'm not sure
- 5:52Speaker 1: what that is. It's the cut that David Fincher prefers.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Apparently he was the director. It's called the assembly cut
- 6:01Speaker 1: much longer. You know, everybody hated on Alien three, but
- 6:05Speaker 1: they say that the director's cut. This Fincher version, the
- 6:08Speaker 1: assembly cut. They say it's better. It contains extended takes
- 6:13Speaker 1: and deleted scenes, scenes that directly impact the plot. Ripley
- 6:18Speaker 1: and the inmates actually succeed in trapping the alien in
- 6:21Speaker 1: the toxic waste room, for instance, until one prisoner deliberately
- 6:24Speaker 1: sets it free. Several or all of the plot holes
- 6:28Speaker 1: are filled, the fates of some minor characters are relieved,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and the chest burster that pops out of Ripley during
- 6:34Speaker 1: her final sacrifice and effect that was added during reshoots,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I wasn't supposed to happen.
- 6:40Speaker 2: In this version. You're not supposed to have so they
- 6:43Speaker 2: deleted that part.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But anyway, now I own this because it was made
- 6:48Speaker 1: available on this DVD collection that had all of the
- 6:54Speaker 1: Alien movies in it, and I just didn't look that closely.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I just put it in and didn't even think about it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But it's available there. But updated versions of all the
- 7:04Speaker 1: Alien movies are available on your HBO Max if you
- 7:08Speaker 1: have that. Speaking of Alien, he drinks and he Knows things.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Peter Dinklice is joining the cast of Alien Earth season two.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Ah let's see it, says casting. This is the first
- 7:24Speaker 1: big casting news about the show second season. It's going
- 7:27Speaker 1: to be filmed at Pinewood Studios outside of London, as
- 7:29Speaker 1: opposed to Thailand, which is where season one was filmed.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Pinewood is where Ridley Scott made the first movie as
- 7:36Speaker 1: well as Prometheus. But we don't know what character he's playing,
- 7:42Speaker 1: who he is going to be, just that he will
- 7:44Speaker 1: be in it.
- 7:45Speaker 2: So there's that. And finally, this the new Superman movie.
- 7:49Speaker 1: They're casting people for it and they're testing these four
- 7:55Speaker 1: actresses Adria Ajorna, Eva de Domindici, Cindy Chandler and Grace
- 8:00Speaker 1: Van Patten to play a character. Let me see if
- 8:03Speaker 1: I can find it here. It's an alien queen of
- 8:07Speaker 1: some kind. Roger Stern and George Perez introduced the character
- 8:10Speaker 1: Maxima into the pages of action comics back in nineteen
- 8:14Speaker 1: eighty nine. She's an alien queen who has been both
- 8:16Speaker 1: an antagonist and potential love interest for a superman.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So Lois has a little bit of competition about No
- 8:25Speaker 2: Lois Wayne is his girlfriend? Well, well, man, do that,
- 8:30Speaker 2: James Gunn.
- 8:31Speaker 1: He likes to play with things, all right, We'll see
- 8:33Speaker 1: what happens.
