- 2:44Speaker 2: black woman, and yes I did say black women, and
- 2:48Speaker 2: no I'm not being racist, but y'all know, we go

- 3:18Speaker 3: Girls, come on up, hello, and how are you?
- 3:27Speaker 2: My sweetheart?
- 3:31Speaker 3: The best I get to be right now?
- 3:35Speaker 2: And that is the best you are. God has you
- 3:40Speaker 2: here for a reason and he.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Is going to use you to encourage us.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And by encouraging us, you're actually encouraging yourself again too.
- 3:51Speaker 3: It is something where you.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It's something when you go back and you remember where you.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Come from or what you went through. How the Songe's.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Old spiritual how I got over? My soul looks back
- 4:05Speaker 2: and wonder how I got over? That's just yo, that
- 4:10Speaker 2: was one of my granny sounds.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Yo.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I'm sorry, y'all. I'm being very very how they say, uh,
- 4:16Speaker 2: walking down memory late to night. But I'll tell you
- 4:20Speaker 2: all about that later. Why, but tell us a little
- 4:23Speaker 2: bit about yourself.
- 4:26Speaker 4: Well, my name is Milagaos. It means miracles, and even
- 4:33Speaker 4: before I was born, that has been my walk from
- 4:38Speaker 4: miracle to miracle to miracle. I was born in Puerto Rico,
- 4:43Speaker 4: raised in the Virgin Islands, and I was always considered
- 4:51Speaker 4: a little weird.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I have my own style.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I don't follow fashion, I don't follow what other people
- 5:01Speaker 4: are doing, and I'm happy with myself.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Most of the time.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I am told that I don't fit in, and I
- 5:13Speaker 4: am okay with that because I don't want to fit
- 5:16Speaker 4: in everywhere, and I don't want to fit in with everyone.
- 5:22Speaker 4: I just want to fit in with my creator because
- 5:26Speaker 4: he created me with purpose and that's the life I really.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Want to live.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Oh my god, that is that's beautiful. So you said
- 5:41Speaker 2: he purpose.
- 5:45Speaker 3: How did you find out the purpose? It wasn't easy.
- 5:51Speaker 3: It wasn't easy. I went through a whole series of abuse.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Part of the story within the mutic Cage is about
- 6:05Speaker 4: the abuse, all kinds of abuse you they met.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I dealt with it. But also I found.
- 6:14Speaker 4: So much strength in going back to write my story.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It took me seven years to write that book. Why
- 6:25Speaker 3: because every.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Time I was confronted with the truth that I had hidden,
- 6:33Speaker 4: that I had silence, it threw me in two weeks
- 6:39Speaker 4: sometimes months of depression.
- 6:44Speaker 3: So in dealing with that I found my strength.
- 6:50Speaker 4: I found me within my pain, within the devastation that
- 6:57Speaker 4: I had been living. There was an instance I was
- 7:04Speaker 4: about fifteen years old and I asked God because I
- 7:09Speaker 4: was going out.
- 7:10Speaker 3: My mother was very strict. She always used to keep.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Me by her side, but for some reason, when I was.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Thirteen and a half, she let me go out.
- 7:22Speaker 4: With my neighbor. Although my neighbor was older than I was.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I was a chaperone.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I was the assurance that she would return home right.
- 7:33Speaker 4: So one day I'm getting ready. I'm ready to go
- 7:38Speaker 4: because this is the only freedom I found in my home.
- 7:43Speaker 4: My mom, I was saying, she must be crazy cause
- 7:46Speaker 4: she doesn't let me go anywhere, and she's letting me
- 7:49Speaker 4: go with this girl. So I used to go and
- 7:52Speaker 4: dance Friday, Saturday, Sundays. And this one day we already started.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Like visiting church.
- 8:01Speaker 4: And this one day I think wanted to go dancing,
- 8:07Speaker 4: and I heard the voice say.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Do not go. And I was like, what do not go?
- 8:15Speaker 3: Now that I'm having fun?
- 8:17Speaker 4: Oh?
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yes, I get get ready. Second time, do not go.
- 8:23Speaker 4: And I felt a little chill, like, ooh, this might
- 8:27Speaker 4: be a little serious.
- 8:29Speaker 3: But my flesh was rising.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I just wanted to go because again, it was the
- 8:37Speaker 4: only freedom I knew.
- 8:41Speaker 3: So I said, now I'm going. The third time.
- 8:46Speaker 4: That was it because I heard the voice again and
- 8:49Speaker 4: he said, do not go, because if you go, you
- 8:55Speaker 4: will not return home. So of course I was very
- 9:00Speaker 4: upset that somebody was getting in the way of my phone,
- 9:08Speaker 4: and I was like, okay, I'm not gonna go, but
- 9:12Speaker 4: I'm not gonna go to church either. That didn't last
- 9:16Speaker 4: too long because even though I did.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Not find the fullness of God when in the church.
- 9:25Speaker 4: I was going, I was beginning to feel God in
- 9:30Speaker 4: a different way. So about three days later I started
- 9:36Speaker 4: going back to the church and why not? But I
- 9:39Speaker 4: was so hungry, and I said to God, why are
- 9:44Speaker 4: you talking to me now? Why when the abuse, especially
- 9:53Speaker 4: the sexual abuse ended when I was twelve old, Why
- 9:58Speaker 4: now when I don't need you.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I'm okay, now, you're right. I was okay wrong.
- 10:10Speaker 4: So God never answered that question during that time. But
- 10:16Speaker 4: about ten years ago and I was fifteen and I'm
- 10:22Speaker 4: sixty two now, so about ten years ago, God took
- 10:26Speaker 4: me back to that moment and he said, do you
- 10:30Speaker 4: remember when you asked me that question? And I said, yes,
- 10:35Speaker 4: I do but you never answered. He said, I'll answered now,
- 10:41Speaker 4: But I'm gonna ask you a question. When things were
- 10:45Speaker 4: happening to you and you were going through thirtain abuse
- 10:53Speaker 4: and you felt like you left your body and you
- 10:58Speaker 4: can see what they were doing to you, how did
- 11:02Speaker 4: you feel?
- 11:04Speaker 3: And we had to.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Repeak out at and I said, I felt safe, he
- 11:10Speaker 4: said to you know why?
- 11:12Speaker 3: I said no? He said, because in.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Those moments when your body was going through what it
- 11:21Speaker 4: was going through, I.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Still have you within my arms.
- 11:28Speaker 4: That's why you felt safe because I was holding you
- 11:34Speaker 4: in my arms. So that answer the question where is
- 11:39Speaker 4: God when I'm going through all this sickness, problem situations?
- 11:46Speaker 4: Black God is always there. He is always there. Our
- 11:51Speaker 4: pain blinds us and we cannot see it. I cannot feel,
- 11:56Speaker 4: we cannot understand. And of course that is the work
- 12:01Speaker 4: of the enemy, separate us from.
- 12:04Speaker 3: The truth of God in our lives.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Anyway, that started a whole new cycle in my life.
- 12:11Speaker 3: And I'm here to see you now. I got me
- 12:16Speaker 3: over here because he is He's just.
- 12:23Speaker 2: God has a crazy sense of human you know what.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, he has a crazyness of human. Oh wow.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And when he's ready to show you something it's always
- 12:35Speaker 2: mind blowing.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yes, it's life changing.
- 12:41Speaker 2: And like I'm hearing the song the song Big God.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Literally that's what he is because when he comes, he's like, man,
- 12:52Speaker 2: you okay, I hear you. But when I come, I'm coming.
- 12:56Speaker 2: When I come, I'm gonna show out because I need
- 12:58Speaker 2: you to know that this is me. You don't think
- 13:00Speaker 2: it's nothing else, but it's me.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yes.
- 13:07Speaker 3: So I'm talking a little bit about the muted Cage.
- 13:12Speaker 3: The name.
- 13:14Speaker 4: I had several names for the book because in nineteen
- 13:18Speaker 4: ninety three, Holy Spirit inspired me and I.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Heard the voice write your story, and I was so
- 13:25Speaker 3: happy because in my mind it's like.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Oh, I'm gonna tell everything that they did to me
- 13:32Speaker 4: and who I'm gonna empty myself and God stop me.
- 13:37Speaker 4: He said, no, that is not the intention of it.
- 13:41Speaker 4: You will not write that book as a victim.
- 13:47Speaker 3: You are going to write that book as somebody who.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Witnessed the abuse, and you are going to share it
- 13:55Speaker 4: with people because there are many people, first of all,
- 14:00Speaker 4: that have gone through many of the things that you
- 14:03Speaker 4: have gone through, but they think that they are the
- 14:07Speaker 4: only one because nobody talks about these things.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Number Two, there are a lot of people that.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Have not experienced the kind of abuse that many have,
- 14:22Speaker 4: and they look at a person and they say, oh,
- 14:26Speaker 4: that person is just so bitter, they're crazy, they do
- 14:31Speaker 4: they misbehave have this problem, and very few people take
- 14:38Speaker 4: the time to seek within the person what is really
- 14:44Speaker 4: going on. So the music Gauge gives a little window
- 14:51Speaker 4: as to what is going on in the mind of
- 14:55Speaker 4: people that go through very severe abuse. So it had
- 15:04Speaker 4: many names, and I had this book from nineteen ninety
- 15:10Speaker 4: three and two thousand and three. I went to a
- 15:15Speaker 4: poetry conference in Florida and something happened that we ended
- 15:22Speaker 4: up giving a ride to a gentleman and.
- 15:25Speaker 3: My cousin didn't know and I did not know either.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Anyway, we gave him a ride and she stopped at
- 15:33Speaker 4: the gas station, got out the park and he's behind
- 15:36Speaker 4: me and.
- 15:37Speaker 3: He cups my shoulder and he says, you a.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Writer, And I'm like, yeah, I write poetry. I don't
- 15:44Speaker 4: think about the book at all, write because.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Of how fault it was with all my pain.
- 15:52Speaker 4: And he said, no, you wrote a book, and in
- 15:57Speaker 4: that book every letter represents tears that you have cried,
- 16:05Speaker 4: and that book is going to go to places that
- 16:09Speaker 4: you don't even know about that book is about healing
- 16:14Speaker 4: many songs. Anyway, I was still scared of publishing the
- 16:21Speaker 4: book because of its content, because I am not explicit,
- 16:26Speaker 4: but I am very real and very raw in telling
- 16:32Speaker 4: my story. So he said, just do what you need
- 16:39Speaker 4: to do with the book. That was in two thousand
- 16:42Speaker 4: and three. I didn't publish that book until twenty eighteen.
- 16:48Speaker 4: I was over at my knees and I had to
- 16:53Speaker 4: I would carry I would travel and carry the manuscript
- 16:55Speaker 4: with me and just.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Keep it hidden. She found it and she put it
- 17:01Speaker 3: in my hand. She said, what are you gonna do
- 17:04Speaker 3: with this? What about this? She was very serious, and
- 17:08Speaker 3: I was like, I.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Just don't even know what name to give it, because
- 17:12Speaker 4: every time I give it a name, it doesn't feel right.
- 17:17Speaker 4: And the minute she placed it on my hand, I
- 17:20Speaker 4: had a vision of a guge made of words, and
- 17:27Speaker 4: the door for the cage was open, and so it was.
- 17:32Speaker 4: It looked beautiful because the words adorn the gauge.
- 17:40Speaker 3: So I decided, okay, so that's it.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Then I heard a whisper the muted gage, and I'm like,
- 17:46Speaker 4: the muted cage. People aren't gonna think that it's because
- 17:51Speaker 4: I lost my voice so many years ago, and I
- 17:54Speaker 4: still struggled with that, and all the spirit said, it
- 18:00Speaker 4: is muted because the words are real.
- 18:03Speaker 3: The words are there.
- 18:06Speaker 4: And most of the time when people look at the cover,
- 18:11Speaker 4: they say, oh, that's a beautiful cage, and I tell
- 18:14Speaker 4: them a lot closer and they're like, it's beautiful, and
- 18:19Speaker 4: I tell them they are eleven words that adorn that
- 18:23Speaker 4: guge and only one word is a positive if word,
- 18:29Speaker 4: and it's a word free.
- 18:32Speaker 3: And yet those words.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Help help me captive within a gauge that I couldn't
- 18:40Speaker 4: see the open door. That's the gauge I was living in.
- 18:47Speaker 4: The words had me a prisoner. And that's how that
- 18:54Speaker 4: name came about. And even the picture and the cover
- 18:59Speaker 4: I had someone her name is norm.
- 19:03Speaker 3: She drew a picture for me.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And you, guys, if you see this cover, I wish
- 19:10Speaker 2: I had my book with me. It is the most
- 19:13Speaker 2: beautiful cover. It has three colors, yellow, white, black. Okay,
- 19:20Speaker 2: But that cage, like she said, it is so beautiful.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Into the naked eye, you just see a cage, but
- 19:29Speaker 2: you have to look a little further and then you
- 19:31Speaker 2: will see the words on the cage. Yes, as a
- 19:36Speaker 2: female author, well, let's say, as an author period, do
- 19:41Speaker 2: you feel that this book.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Would be received greatly because you're a female or.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Do you feel that, like some people said, some books
- 19:57Speaker 2: have to be they feel like some books have to
- 19:59Speaker 2: be written by or from a male perspective for the
- 20:02Speaker 2: book to be a great book. Do you feel that
- 20:05Speaker 2: in this case because I love it?
- 20:08Speaker 4: No, Actually, my brain doesn't filter that. My brain doesn't
- 20:14Speaker 4: think like that. What I know is that people need.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Hope.
- 20:24Speaker 4: And within the book, it is not just telling my story,
- 20:28Speaker 4: it's also presenting because I tell one story, let's say
- 20:34Speaker 4: about a being written that I got and it was
- 20:38Speaker 4: not justified. And then I do a little summary of
- 20:45Speaker 4: how I experience a pain and it's not the physical thing,
- 20:51Speaker 4: but the spiritual and emotional not pain that I felt.
- 20:56Speaker 3: And then I'm right how I'm mature from that space.
- 21:04Speaker 4: So if people were to give the book a chance,
- 21:10Speaker 4: a lot of people would be set free, because it
- 21:14Speaker 4: set me free to write this book.
- 21:18Speaker 3: And God does not make mistakes. So and a lot
- 21:23Speaker 3: of people that have read the book, they.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Always have great things to say about the book, and
- 21:31Speaker 4: they call me brave and a great writer. And to me,
- 21:36Speaker 4: I see nothing of that. What I see is that
- 21:41Speaker 4: I need it to be obedient. And because you are
- 21:47Speaker 4: obedient and you are faithful in doing what God tells
- 21:53Speaker 4: you to do, of course I want my time.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I ran away from it like Joe.
- 22:00Speaker 4: I had a journey to get to where I can
- 22:04Speaker 4: release a book because I have a family that I
- 22:07Speaker 4: love and I love them deeply, and I knew that
- 22:11Speaker 4: it was going.
- 22:12Speaker 3: To bring conflict, and it did.
- 22:16Speaker 4: But I had to be willing to obey God, even
- 22:21Speaker 4: if it meant standing alone. And sometimes we don't want
- 22:28Speaker 4: and we don't have the courage to do that, and
- 22:33Speaker 4: you have that courage a.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Little it's of our courage step by step. I mean,
- 22:41Speaker 3: God really had to push me a lot. But I
- 22:46Speaker 3: also admit I.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Had to give in because I understand the intention and
- 22:53Speaker 4: purpose of the book.
- 22:55Speaker 3: It's not about me, it's not about my family. It's
- 22:59Speaker 3: a out the souls that.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Are suffering, that are living in devastation, that that are
- 23:07Speaker 4: waiting to even try suicide. I did because I was done.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I was tired. I was asking God, take me if
- 23:16Speaker 3: you I need in it. So then I tried myself.
- 23:21Speaker 4: So it's it's a book I can bring hope to
- 23:26Speaker 4: a lot of people.
- 23:28Speaker 2: And that is one of the things we need nowadays.
- 23:31Speaker 2: That is, Oh my God, that's one of the things
- 23:33Speaker 2: we need nowadays, especially with everything that's going on. Yes,
- 23:41Speaker 2: So as we close out tonight, what message would you
- 23:46Speaker 2: leave us?
- 23:49Speaker 3: The message I want to leave people it is that
- 23:52Speaker 3: God is real.
- 23:54Speaker 4: He is so real that even before we were born,
- 24:00Speaker 4: he already had our our story planned out for us.
- 24:07Speaker 4: And so God gave me a saying. I use it
- 24:11Speaker 4: as a hashtag, it's time to return to God. Because
- 24:16Speaker 4: we struggle, we fight, we suffer, and sometimes we suffer,
- 24:23Speaker 4: struggle a struggle and fight more than we need to.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Because we can't align with God's will.
- 24:32Speaker 4: And aligning with God's will is a fight. It's it's
- 24:37Speaker 4: a choice that you have to make. It doesn't just happen,
- 24:42Speaker 4: and it hurts sometimes. It's denying yourself and taking the cross,
- 24:46Speaker 4: Legenesus said, and taking across in de nine years, that's
- 24:52Speaker 4: the last thing we want to do because we want
- 24:56Speaker 4: to have a position, we want to have of authority,
- 25:01Speaker 4: We want to have all these things.
- 25:03Speaker 3: But it want to be yet, Jesus said, deny yourself.
- 25:10Speaker 4: These days, who is really benign themselves? Very few people,
- 25:17Speaker 4: But at some point if we really want to, if
- 25:22Speaker 4: God's plan, that great and perfect plan that you created
- 25:27Speaker 4: for us, We're.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Gonna have to get out the way.
- 25:30Speaker 4: We're gonna have to submit, and we're gonna have to
- 25:33Speaker 4: deny ourselves and our desires and ours want and our
- 25:37Speaker 4: dreams because most of the dreams we have, most of
- 25:42Speaker 4: the businesses we build, have nothing to do with God
- 25:47Speaker 4: and his kingdom and what He.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Has for us, and what He has for us is
- 25:52Speaker 2: way greater than what we can get for ourselves, absolutely
- 25:57Speaker 2: way greater. But of course we feel like we have
- 26:00Speaker 2: to do it. It's like, sit down and let me
- 26:03Speaker 2: handle this us. You know, it's like a little kid
- 26:05Speaker 2: and they want to do it so bad because they
- 26:07Speaker 2: want to do what we want to do it. And
- 26:08Speaker 2: God is like God is like the parents, sit down,
- 26:16Speaker 2: did you do what I told you to do? But
- 26:17Speaker 2: you want to do this, but you didn't do what
- 26:19Speaker 2: I told.
