- 1:46he's been waiting, and calmly and carefully.
- 1:49He is a former Super Bowl champion, not a big fan of the
- 1:54New England Patriots, but I always thought this guy was a
- 1:57world beater when it came to my New York Jets.
- 2:00We are now talking to former Saints, Dolphins, who we could
- 2:04care less than he played for, and former Patriots Super Bowl
- 2:09champion defensive end Rob Nikovic.
- 2:13Rob, what is up my friend? What's up, bud?
- 2:18Really, really mad that the Pats have another great quarterback.
- 2:24Well, hold on one second. So I mean.
- 2:27I'm happy to be here. Thanks for having me.
- 2:29I know it's got to be tough. This season has got to be really
- 2:32tough for you, so you continue with what you were going to say.
- 2:36Well, let's be honest here. I'm a Jet fan.
- 2:39I also root on the Eagles. But being a Jet fan, there's a
- 2:42lot of there's a lot of hate, OK?
- 2:45There's a lot of hate for you. There's a lot of hate for a guy
- 2:49named Brady. There's a lot of hate for guys
- 2:52with the last name Gronk. There's a lot of hate with a guy
- 2:56named Julian Edelman. I can't stand the New England
- 3:00Patriots. I couldn't stand them then and I
- 3:04can't stand them now. But Rob, there's a funny story
- 3:08behind me and you. I was at one point doing my show
- 3:12in Foxwoods at K&M. You know, K&M, you, you saw,
- 3:16you've signed autographs. Up there.
- 3:18OK. And the day before I was doing
- 3:22my show, I, I was invited by my boy over there who runs the
- 3:26store to come and do our show and entertain the New England
- 3:30fans, entertain them. And they kept booing me and, and
- 3:35I, I gave away free stuff. They didn't care.
- 3:37I was wearing a New York Yankee hat.
- 3:38They couldn't stand me. I loved it.
- 3:41I absolutely love when Boston fans can't stand me.
- 3:44So we were there and and I got told that you were going to be
- 3:47there tomorrow. You were signing autographs, you
- 3:49and another player. And I was like, should I stay?
- 3:52And, and my, my partner, Mike, he was like telling me like we
- 3:55got to, we got to go to the city, We got other things to do.
- 3:58Can't stay here. And what do I, I don't want to,
- 4:00I don't want to interview them anyways.
- 4:02I'm a giant fan and you know, he's a giant fan and I'm a jet
- 4:06fan. So it never happened.
- 4:08We never got a chance to meet you.
- 4:09So when Nissan told me he was going to get you on the show, I
- 4:13was like, everything crosses over.
- 4:16Everything has to cross one way or another.
- 4:18So now we have Mr. Rob Nikovic. Now, listen, you used to kill
- 4:23the New York Jets. Absolutely kill them.
- 4:27And you know what I couldn't stand?
- 4:28I wouldn't. You killed them.
- 4:30You know what I would say, though, when we played The Jets,
- 4:34they were for teams to go up against because they were always
- 4:39very tough, very hard to go up against and you felt it.
- 4:45So there's some games where your Monday, Tuesday are not so bad,
- 4:51like you're not that sore, you're not that.
- 4:54But when you had, when Rex Ryan had The Jets going, you know,
- 4:58think about like 09, those were the games where I was so sore.
- 5:02And there are a few teams historically, you're always
- 5:05going to be sore. It was the Steelers, it was The
- 5:10Jets, it was the Ravens. Those three teams, every time we
- 5:15played, you knew you were going to feel terrible the next three
- 5:18days after the game. So, you know, there are other
- 5:21teams. On the other hand, you'd be
- 5:22like, I played a game yesterday, but The Jets I have.
- 5:27I always have to tip my hat to Rex Ryan because I think he's a
- 5:29great coach. He's a guy that motivates and
- 5:32gets a team going. Rob, let me tell you something.
- 5:34I was sore and I didn't even play in the game.
- 5:36OK? I was sore and I didn't even
- 5:38have to play the game. I was butt hurt every single
- 5:42time. And the one time we beat you
- 5:44guys in the playoffs, all I heard was Bart Scott saying
- 5:50can't wait. I'll never forget that take
- 5:54because I remember the week after I it's the Pittsburgh
- 5:57Steelers. I remember it.
- 5:59It makes me want to hurl. I don't even want to talk about
- 6:02that. Let's get off it.
- 6:04Well, then you. Can't watch Fox.
- 6:05You don't want to watch Julian or Tom talk because you don't
- 6:07like them. You can't watch any football
- 6:09games on Fox on Sundays, ESPN, because every time they have
- 6:12Bart Scott on, there is a segment he says can't wait on
- 6:15ESPN. So you're kind of limited?
- 6:17I don't watch any of that garbage anyways, first of all,
- 6:20and I like I like Julian. I don't I like either.
- 6:23I don't either. I like Julian.
- 6:25I like. Julian too, you know, annoying
- 6:27guys if you're a fan, you know, like he's he's one of them guys
- 6:30that you think I probably could have done that it longer and I
- 6:36stuck to it, right. He's one of them guys.
- 6:37They're like, damn, I could have been a slot receiver in the NFL.
- 6:40Which I was. Tough and I lifted weights every
- 6:42day and I was just a little bit insane.
- 6:44Maybe I could have done it. White guy out there in the slot
- 6:47receiver just getting killed over the middle.
- 6:49But they're most funny thing about Julian and I don't know
- 6:53how the hell he didn't get in more fights, but every every
- 6:56time he would almost like flick flick it at you in like a real
- 6:59disrespectful way. You know, he kind of tossed it
- 7:02to you in practice. It was so annoying.
- 7:04I've been in a couple fights with Julian and he's not going
- 7:07to win because I'm very but he is like that annoying.
- 7:11Just would you shut up type guy like stop being so annoying.
- 7:16But it worked out for him because he is.
- 7:18He was a hell football player. So he's a flea, is that what
- 7:21you're saying? He's like a little flea that
- 7:22just, you know, he's like a Leech.
- 7:24He's annoying. Yeah.
- 7:26Such a blood. I'll tell you a story.
- 7:27This is a year I retire. So I retire after the at that
- 7:31game, I figured I'd played eleven years in the league.
- 7:35What's 1213 years gonna give me that out?
- 7:37They don't already have, you know, As far as tips, if I had
- 7:40another one, yeah, I'd be great. But is it worth me smashing my
- 7:43head into a wall for another year?
- 7:45Another two years? So I decided on terms and that
- 7:49year that I'm out, Julian happens to have a little hiccup.
- 7:52He was suspended for the first four games of the year.
- 7:55So I'm helping him train a little bit.
- 7:58And I'm still, I'm still, I just retired, you know, I could still
- 8:01have easily played. They were trying to get me to
- 8:03play actually. But I just said, you know, I'm
- 8:05I'm, I'm ready to go. But Julian was trying to get
- 8:08ready to come back. So he's asked me, hey, could you
- 8:11put some pads on? Let's do some blocking and
- 8:14coverage and all this stuff. I said, yeah, I got all my
- 8:17stuff. I'll put my pads on bubble at
- 8:19BC. And it's like maybe the end of
- 8:23September. And I say, all right, Jules,
- 8:25like, listen, the last concussion I had, I was in the
- 8:27Super Bowl fresh here. Like, I don't want to get hit in
- 8:31the head. Like I'm good for a while.
- 8:32I don't want to get hit in the head anymore.
- 8:34That's why I retired. Do you think he listened to me?
- 8:37No. The first play, The first play,
- 8:40it's like, oh, let's just do a little run.
- 8:42Like I'll try to stalk block you.
- 8:44I he blocks. He takes both my hands off, like
- 8:48chops them off and goes like, bang.
- 8:50He hits me right with his temple, you little shit.
- 8:53So what I did is I said, all right, let's do it again.
- 8:56All right, he fired me up. So I took him.
- 8:58I just banged, gave him a big shot and he threw his ass and I
- 9:01and he said he looked at me. He's like, yeah, I should have
- 9:03done that. I should just go play.
- 9:04Might as well go play. He was one of the hardest
- 9:06workers. You got to respect when guys are
- 9:08just that dedicated to constantly working at their
- 9:12craft. Like he was so just over the top
- 9:15and and a little bit crazy. I mean, I think you have to be
- 9:18crazy to play in the NFL a little bit.
- 9:20You gotta have a little cuckoo, a little craziness in you.
- 9:23The only thing cuckoo is is all the girls that Tom Brady hooked
- 9:26them up with. I mean, you got to make sure
- 9:29you're in those situations. You know, hey, look at some of
- 9:32these guys. Cromartie, Cromartie, he's got
- 9:34like 9 kids. That's you got to be smart.
- 9:36You got to be careful. Things get tough.
- 9:38He's trying to catch up to his former quarterback and Phillip
- 9:40Rivers. How many does Phillip have?
- 9:42Like 10. I thought it was like 16, yeah.
- 9:44But he adopted like 7 of them. He adopted 7.
- 9:47No. Did you guys see Sean Alexander,
- 9:49the former running back? He he has 12.
- 9:51Oh, yeah, I did hear what? He has 12.
- 9:54He just you. Have no kids?
- 9:55You just made one. It doesn't matter how much money
- 9:59you make if you have 12 children.
- 10:02What kids are Rob? My new My new neighbor has 12
- 10:06kids. They have like one of one of
- 10:08their cars is a Sprinter van. Oh God.
- 10:14I wouldn't want, I wouldn't want that milk wouldn't want the the
- 10:18milk bill going to Costco. I wouldn't want that.
- 10:21We literally just we literally just talked about this.
- 10:23Their Costco like every like 2 weeks has to be like 2 grand.
- 10:28Yeah, 12 kids listen, I have 3 kids.
- 10:35I got one. I honestly wouldn't want any
- 10:37more kids. I I mean I have 3 kids and I
- 10:39know they're expensive so. Yeah.
- 10:44I don't have any kids, not yet, and I could only imagine how
- 10:47expensive they're going to be. I thought Alexander's only 12.
- 10:53It's 14. My bad.
- 10:58That's 14 kids dude. You got, AI didn't.
- 11:03Realize that. I don't.
- 11:04I don't, I don't know what you do with that.
- 11:07I think it's that's a tough retirement right there.
- 11:09Well, just and think about the age like the age difference,
- 11:12like will will the oldest one ever know like their youngest
- 11:15one? I mean I.
- 11:20Mean, I think it depends on if. I think it depends on if every
- 11:25kid is with the same mom right 'cause.
- 11:27I I think so so. It'll be a big, some of them
- 11:32are. I mean, look, it's if you look
- 11:36around the NFL, there's a bunch of kids.
- 11:38I mean, look at they'll have more kids than touchdowns last
- 11:41year. Yeah, pretty much.
- 11:44And now he's going to play in more games I.
- 11:46Think he had, like, I think he had four town catches and five
- 11:50kids last year. Something crazy?
- 11:51Yeah. Who had five kids?
- 11:53Tyree Kill, Oh my God. Tyree Kill gets around man as
- 11:57well as his leg did. Oh yeah.
- 12:02Ouch, that's that's tough right there.
- 12:05I was just trying. I was just trying to be funny,
- 12:07OK? He's going to be 30.
- 12:09What 3233 coming off 30? Two like that 32.
- 12:12Yeah, 32 and if you're a team like you're not going to, you're
- 12:15going to give him league minimum and he's going to have to prove
- 12:18he's healthy. That's just.
- 12:22And you know. I'm never going to count anybody
- 12:23out but. I'll tell you who's going to
- 12:26give it to him. I I give him a league minimum.
- 12:29It's going to be Kansas City. KS City is going to the Chiefs
- 12:32are going to give it to him and he's going to go over there and.
- 12:34He's going to the Super works. That's what's going to happen.
- 12:37If you're a team, what's the what's the worst that can
- 12:39happen? If you give him a league minimum
- 12:40deal, you're just going to say, all right, we'll give you the
- 12:42league minimum. And if you get back, Oh my God,
- 12:44we got a home run here. If you're half of what you were,
- 12:47we're still going to be productive.
- 12:48And if you don't got it, well, that's it.
- 12:52Great effort. So Rob, Rob, let me ask you a
- 12:54question about that real quick. So if he gets league minimum and
- 12:59let's say like Week 8 or whatever, he's done.
- 13:01Like he doesn't get paid anymore, right?
- 13:04No, he's a vested veteran. So actually I think if he's on a
- 13:07roster week 1, he gets his his salary guaranteed.
- 13:11OK, you. Know it's it's it's interesting,
- 13:15but you're. A vested.
- 13:17By the way, I just want to let everybody know we are talking to
- 13:18former Saints, Dolphins and Patriots Super Bowl champion
- 13:22defensive end Rod Nikovic. If you don't know who he is,
- 13:24well then you don't know football.
- 13:26And if you're a Patriot fan, you definitely know who he is
- 13:29because he was part of those bad boy Patriots that you couldn't
- 13:32stand. I actually liked Vince Wilfork.
- 13:35I always liked him because he he did these weird dances on the
- 13:39sidelines and he liked to play with his stomach.
- 13:42So I I liked his personality even though he was a Patriot,
- 13:45but that's the only guy I actually liked.
- 13:48And Darrelle Revis, when he won a Super Bowl, would you guys
- 13:51that was? That was sorry.
- 13:52So that was a crowning moment for you.
- 13:54No, it wasn't a crowning moment. That was a hated moment for me.
- 13:57My favorite player went to the New England Patriots to win a
- 14:01Super Bowl. That made me sick to my stomach.
- 14:04I was sick. The one of the greatest corners
- 14:08of all time goes and Tom Brady says the greatest corner he ever
- 14:11played against. The greatest.
- 14:14And he's playing with Tom Brady on the same team.
- 14:16Makes me sick. You can thank Giants legend
- 14:17Russell Wilson for that. One makes me sick.
- 14:21Robert Kraft. You know what, you know what's
- 14:22weird? You know what's weird about
- 14:24Revis was I, we always had this like when you're going again,
- 14:30when you're going against other teams, you don't really know
- 14:33him. You watch a lot of tape, you
- 14:36respect good players, but you don't know him on a personal
- 14:40level. And when Revis came to play with
- 14:44us, we all knew the aura of the Revis Island and, and how good
- 14:50he was, but you didn't really know the type of person you
- 14:54didn't know because he's kind of, he's definitely a quiet
- 14:57person. He's not like an outgoing.
- 14:58He's not going to be somebody that you're going to hear from
- 15:01outside of the building. He's not really, I mean, we
- 15:04don't really hear much from from now, like, right.
- 15:05He's kind of a quiet to himself guy, but it was so weird how
- 15:10smooth he was. For example, if I had that was
- 15:13very fast and very good. I felt fast like I was trying to
- 15:17do my best. Well, probably because I wasn't
- 15:20like running a four four. I was like running A-47 Tronica
- 15:23guy that runs A4 four. So maybe that's that's the
- 15:25reason why. But I'd always watch his tape
- 15:27and just be so how smooth he was, smooth and all his
- 15:31movements because he almost anticipated where guys were
- 15:35going before they actually went there.
- 15:37And he would study on the routes of the receivers and any little
- 15:41giveaway that they would give before they were making their
- 15:44cut. Like do they drag their inside
- 15:47foot before they cut out? You know, just little stuff like
- 15:50that. And he would always be able to
- 15:52just get in your hip pocket and run the route for you, which was
- 15:56so crazy to me that somebody can do that.
- 15:58And the really, really good ones, really rare ones, are able
- 16:02to do that at a high level on it.
- 16:04You know, he was one of the biggest additions that we made
- 16:06in the offseason. And one of the sickest I've ever
- 16:09been. So thank you.
- 16:10Thank you for the New England Patriots, for making me watch
- 16:13one of my favorite players win a Super Bowl with that team.
- 16:17That team. That team, so transitioning to a
- 16:21guy that was with The Jets for a much shorter period of time and
- 16:23that is Bill Belichick. We've had a lot of different
- 16:25Patriots guests on our show that have told us interesting stories
- 16:27about him, what he's like some being a drill Sergeant, someone
- 16:29saying, oh, he's a dry humor type of guy, but he'll have some
- 16:32random, random humor here and there off the field.
- 16:35What was he like for you and do you have a good story of Bill
- 16:37Belichick? So I think Bill to me was when I
- 16:42got there in 2009, he was already, I mean, they were all
- 16:46already established as kind of the kind of patriots when I when
- 16:52I got there. So I literally just trying to do
- 16:56my best to find my own spot, find my own place.
- 17:00And you know, I think Bill, he saw something in me that
- 17:05compared that was comparable. Early in my career, I was almost
- 17:09nervous to make a mistake. We were playing Jacksonville and
- 17:12it was 2009. My story was crazy.
- 17:15I was cut, I tore my CL. I was a long snapper.
- 17:19I went to New England. My whole career was probably on
- 17:22the almost over. I didn't know how much longer
- 17:24I'd have in the league. Gave me an opportunity to play
- 17:27on special teams and I took that opportunity and I ran with it
- 17:30and I had a great first year here in 2009.
- 17:35But I only had a few reps on defense.
- 17:38In this particular game, we were playing Jacksonville and I was
- 17:42just the mirror guy. So I was just the guy that was
- 17:44supposed to mirror the quarterback.
- 17:46And I go on the field for one play, it's third down.
- 17:50I do my I hit the quarterback. He actually throws an
- 17:52interception and I run off to the sideline and Bill's like
- 17:57screaming at me at the top of his lungs.
- 17:59What are you doing? What the F are you doing?
- 18:03And I looked at him and I only could think of one thing.
- 18:08And I said like Falcon mirror. And we didn't even have Falcon
- 18:13in the playbook. Falcon was like from college,
- 18:16right? And he looks at me and he's
- 18:18like, we don't even run Falcon. Like like and I just remember
- 18:22looking at him like, I don't know why I just said that, but I
- 18:25think I did the right thing. So I just let him chew me out.
- 18:28And the next day after he watched the tape, he walked up
- 18:32to me. He goes, hey, you know, on that
- 18:33play, I, I was, I was getting after you.
- 18:35You actually did exactly what you're supposed to do.
- 18:37And I said, and I didn't say anything back.
- 18:39I just said, yes, Sir, I'll keep working, you know, because you
- 18:43can't say anything back. You can't say anything back to
- 18:45Bill. You're not going to win if you
- 18:46say anything back to any coach. So that's it.
- 18:48A lesson for you young players out there.
- 18:50If somebody's getting after you and they're yelling at you, you
- 18:53don't say, but you don't say. But I, that's, I did the right
- 18:57thing. You don't say anything.
- 18:59You just say, yes Sir, I'll I'll get, I'll do what you need.
- 19:01I'll get better. And there was one particular
- 19:05year, I think it was 2011 or 12, I, I made a play like tackle for
- 19:11like 2 yard gain. And I came off on the, came off
- 19:14the field and Bill was like, what's up, What's wrong?
- 19:17And I said, dude, I, I keep that first play, they got 2 yards.
- 19:19He's like Rob, if they gain 2 yards on 1st down, that's a win.
- 19:25That's a win because if if they don't, if they don't gain
- 19:28another yard, they're in 3rd and long.
- 19:30So listen, if you can get, if you can minimize the run plays,
- 19:34the 2 yards, I'll always say good job.
- 19:38So it was like switching my mentality of like, oh, I need
- 19:41negative plays or I need plays for 0 game and think if it's
- 19:44first down and they only gained 2, I'm ahead of this thing.
- 19:47I'm OK. So it was like changing my
- 19:49mentality on how to play the game.
- 19:51And, you know, over the years, learned so much from Bill and so
- 19:55much about defense and so much about how offenses are trying
- 19:59to, you know, it's all spacing, it's all numbers, route
- 20:01concepts. When the offense comes out on
- 20:04the field, you automatically know what's coming.
- 20:06And, you know, I was able to make a lot of plays because I
- 20:09would look at the offense. An alert, hey, this is going to
- 20:13be power. This is going to be an over sail
- 20:15route Topper double host in all these different place going to
- 20:18run a slam 3, they're going to run a slam 3 and I go steal it.
- 20:22I actually think I had a pick six against The Jets, got a
- 20:26little slam 3 concept. I remember that.
- 20:28I remember that. I remember that game and I.
- 20:31Remember, it was. You dominated that game by the
- 20:34way you were dominating. Yeah, I did.
- 20:36If they came out in 2 by 2, Dustin Keller was the number two
- 20:40split out. So I would walk, I walked out on
- 20:43the number 2 and if two ran a vertical or a sit, then Lt. was
- 20:49coming out for a little hook route like a little check down.
- 20:52For the second I felt Dustin go up.
- 20:54I just shot for the the check down.
- 20:56First of all, Butt, Fumbler, Mr. Sanchez, and I don't want to get
- 21:00into the old New York Jets. I just want to talk about you,
- 21:04OK? Every time we get these New
- 21:06England Patriots on this show, the first team they want to
- 21:11attack is The Jets. Why?
- 21:14Because I'm a Jet guy. You give Rob some credit, he
- 21:16said. Rex Ryan made them sore.
- 21:18By the way, by the way, I, I I did.
- 21:20Like Rex Ryan, you know what I would I would play for, I would
- 21:23have loved to play for Rex Ryan. There were moments where I was,
- 21:26I'd look at Rex Ryan, I'd listen to him talk and I'm like, dude,
- 21:29this guy, this guy can get a team going.
- 21:31And I think he dealt with The Jets.
- 21:33I still think you should get a job.
- 21:34I think somebody should give him an opportunity.
- 21:36If you look at the head coaches around the league and how shitty
- 21:39some of them are, he should have an opportunity to go be a head
- 21:42coach. I mean, if you look in general,
- 21:47everything is just not that sharp and precise.
- 21:51You got teams that look good one week and then the next week they
- 21:54can't score a point or they got 18 penalties in two games.
- 21:58It's just a lot of sloppy. If you really watch the games,
- 22:01it's a lot of sloppy, unorganized, badly coaching
- 22:05right now. So if you can have somewhat of a
- 22:09disciplined team and you can kind of push yourself to being
- 22:14in a winning position right now, it's wide open for for you.
- 22:19Because all the good teams that we thought were going to be good
- 22:24are bad. So we we do we think that the
- 22:27Ravens were going to be terrible?
- 22:29No. Do we think that Indianapolis
- 22:32was great? No, not at all.
- 22:35I did. So it's.
- 22:36I did. I thought I didn't think any
- 22:39would be 6 in one. 100% that I thought Danny Dimes was for
- 22:45real. The giants absolutely tossed him
- 22:48to the side just like they did the Saquon and I I, I I know
- 22:52Jabba has a question for you, but I'm going to tell you
- 22:54something. If you want to watch a
- 22:55documentary when you get a chance, I don't know if you
- 22:57heard my take in the beginning of the show, go check out the
- 23:00Saquon documentary on prime sensational sensational take.
- 23:05It's it's great. It's really great coverage by
- 23:08Prime and Saquon Barkley. Go ahead, Java.
- 23:10No, I just, I obviously you kind of talk some X and OS, but you
- 23:13brought up something that I'm interested in because obviously
- 23:16being an athlete like you, you have your game day preparation.
- 23:20You have game day, but I'm really interested and you
- 23:22touched on a little bit like some weeks you knew we're going
- 23:26to be tougher than the others, but kind of take us down that
- 23:30like day after weather, depending on what day it is.
- 23:33Now after you play, like kind of obviously your body goes through
- 23:37whatever it is, but like how like do you manifest like
- 23:41getting back? Is it cold tanks?
- 23:43Is it time? Do you do you guys have
- 23:45practice? Like it's always interesting for
- 23:47me to see because everybody's a little bit different of of how
- 23:50you guys do it. Like because we play every day.
- 23:52So it's a little bit different for us because we kind of got to
- 23:55manage all of it in one day. But you guys have, you know,
- 23:58time in between. So do you guys have practice
- 24:01film like break that down for me like the the couple days
- 24:04afterwards? Well, it, it really it comes
- 24:07down to if you get out of a game clean.
- 24:10And when I say get out of a game clean, like you could get, you
- 24:13know, banged up in one week, you, you have no injuries, but
- 24:17you're just sore. So you there's certain games
- 24:19where you come out and you're playing football and you're, you
- 24:22know, hitting, you're hitting full grown men full speed.
- 24:25So you're going to always be sore.
- 24:27There's levels to the soreness. So, you know, I can think back
- 24:30to, you know, playing the Ravens in the playoffs and it took me
- 24:38like a week to feel normal, right?
- 24:40And when I say like to feel normal, you know, there are
- 24:44certain days where a Monday or Tuesday I would have to go down
- 24:48my stairs one step at a time, you know, like very gingerly,
- 24:52slow, hold on to the railing, you know, make sure I'm not
- 24:57hurting myself because you're literally your whole body is it
- 25:01almost feels like you got ran over by something, which you
- 25:03well, you did. So you know, that was certain
- 25:07aspects of it that you're trying to just fight through soreness,
- 25:11which is, you know, I mean, think back on a certain like
- 25:15training camp day that you take a lot of cuts, right?
- 25:18You're like, damn, my midsection is really sore today or my, my
- 25:21lats are sore or my front arm is sore.
- 25:23And it just takes a it takes time for you to just get back to
- 25:26feeling OK. But then there's like certain
- 25:29instances where you get where you get tweaked or you get
- 25:31rolled up on or you tear something, you know, like one
- 25:34year I for my PEC and my bicep in the same game.
- 25:36It sucked, but I had to play the next week.
- 25:39So I the PAC minor. So it wasn't the major.
- 25:42So I just dealt with it. I took a bunch of indocin.
- 25:45Indocin is like something you live on if you play in the NFL.
- 25:49Yeah. So you take everyday which is
- 25:52like a very inflammatory. A vitamin for US pitchers.
- 25:59Yeah, Anderson. So you take Indocin, it's good
- 26:02for anti-inflammatory. You take a Toradol shot.
- 26:05I don't know if you guys take Toradol shots, but take 20
- 26:09Toradol shots a year because I would take four in the preseason
- 26:14in the regular season, 617 eight to 9/20/22.
- 26:18So like 23 to 24 shots of Toradol, which Toradol is like
- 26:22taking a massive dose of ibuprofen, but it's it's like 8
- 26:27times get in your in the hospital or something.
- 26:30You know if you have an injury they give you Toradol.
- 26:34So when I first got in the league, Toradol was a shot and I
- 26:38would take it in my shoulder. You had to get grandfathered
- 26:40into that. So I always took the shot and I
- 26:43took it in my shoulder cuz I thought it'd get closer to my
- 26:46heart and I don't know, stupid stuff.
- 26:47But the problem with Toradol bloods thin so you feel great,
- 26:52you feel invincible. But tore my AC joint like I and
- 26:56I had Toradol kept playing with it and I kept hitting with it
- 26:59and I felt fine. I woke up and couldn't move my
- 27:03arm and I was like, this is the most pain I've ever been.
- 27:05I tried to tie my shoes really bad.
- 27:08And then you got to get through it for the whole week and then
- 27:10you got to put a little plastic cup on it, then put your pads on
- 27:14it. Not I tell everybody, hey, in
- 27:16practice my left shoulder, I'm going to use my right shoulders.
- 27:19And then in the games, I take a Toradol and then I wouldn't feel
- 27:22it. Certain games get you.
- 27:23So you could get an injury in a game that lasts for two to three
- 27:27weeks. And then in that time you're
- 27:29trying to recover, you're still getting beat up.
- 27:31So there's some years where you might go a whole year without
- 27:37getting really beat up and like dinged like with an injury.
- 27:40And then there's other years where you just feel like every
- 27:42week you're getting something and it's just football's weird
- 27:45because it's you roll the dice, you're in a pile or you're next
- 27:49to somebody and a guy gets leg whipped and you're standing
- 27:51there one, one foot to the left or right, you're fine.
- 27:55But if you're standing in the wrong spot, you're going to get
- 27:57rolled up on. So it's kind of crazy the way
- 28:00football works because there's a lot of injuries that are out of
- 28:02your control. And then there's playing fast,
- 28:06trying to make a play and you're going to get hurt.
- 28:08It's that's the one thing about football.
- 28:10You're 100% guaranteed to get hurt, 100%.
- 28:13It doesn't matter if if you play 10 snaps or 100 snaps,
- 28:18eventually you're going to get hurt.
- 28:19We are talking to former Saints, Dolphins and Super Bowl champion
- 28:23for the Patriots defensive and Rob Nikovic.
- 28:26Last question, and this is a long one for me because I I
- 28:31remember these Patriot teams. I couldn't stand them.
- 28:34OK, So I watched the dynasty. I watched the 10 part dynasty on
- 28:38prime. It was sensational, very well
- 28:41put together. A lot of questions from that
- 28:44documentary that I had, and we haven't really had any Patriots
- 28:50on since I watched that documentary.
- 28:52I'm sure you've checked it out. And Robert Kraft and Bill
- 28:56Belichick, at the tail end of Bill Belichick's time over
- 28:59there. There was a lot of yapping and I
- 29:02know you were there at some parts of it and I I want to know
- 29:06your thoughts to the back end of that whole story between them
- 29:09two and Tom Brady. How what type of player is Tom
- 29:14Brady in the locker room and and what type of teammate is he
- 29:19outside outside of the off the field and outside of the
- 29:23football field? Well, the.
- 29:24First question, I'll say, Mr. Kraft, you watch that dynasty,
- 29:28you know, you see the progression of where he was at
- 29:32when he bought the team, where, where the whole team and
- 29:36organization was as an organ, you know, like their facilities,
- 29:42the what the league thought of them.
- 29:45They were, they were kind of a laughing stock of the NFL.
- 29:48They were bottom of the barrel. The ownership, the team
- 29:51ownership wasn't great. They didn't spend any money on
- 29:54anybody, their facilities or they didn't really want to be
- 29:58great. So I think the initial story of
- 30:00Mr. Kraft buying the team because he was a local kid,
- 30:04local guy that loved the Patriots.
- 30:06He was a real estate guy. He owned the parking lots first.
- 30:08All these different things went into him being able to buy the
- 30:12team. And then when he bought the
- 30:13team, he went to try and create greatness, right?
- 30:16They just put Bill Parcells in the Hall of Fame.
- 30:19Time heals all things. And, you know, Parcells now is
- 30:23in his 80s and, you know, you heard him talk and you talk.
- 30:27You heard the things that said and he wish you would have done
- 30:31stuff a little differently. That's that was right out of his
- 30:33mouth. You know, And I think if you go
- 30:35back at any point in anyone's life, when you start to look
- 30:39back at the way you handled certain situations, you probably
- 30:42would have differently knowing what you know now versus what
- 30:45you know then. And, you know, I think that's
- 30:47the same with any time you have success, there's always somebody
- 30:52that there's how do we get here? Who's got the who's going to get
- 30:56all the looks and the credit? And that happens on football
- 30:59teams. That happens on baseball teams,
- 31:01high school football teams in high school have these with the
- 31:0320 plus years of success, different relationship things
- 31:08that popped up. And I could think about being
- 31:10with my best friend for 20 years and I want to kill him.
- 31:13You know, like there's moments when you're around somebody that
- 31:16much every day for 20 years, you're going to have fights and
- 31:21you're going to have disagreements.
- 31:23That's just human encounters and human relationships.
- 31:27So I think with Bill and Mr. Kraft and the years that they
- 31:31had together, there were definitely their ups and downs
- 31:34there, but there was so much success there and there was so
- 31:36much good that came out of that relationship because Kraft
- 31:40wanted the best. He wanted the best coach.
- 31:42He went and got Bill. But with that, he gave up some
- 31:46of the power because Bill's going to say, I want this done a
- 31:49certain way, GM control or I want to be able to say so on who
- 31:53we keep, who we don't, what's the cap?
- 31:55What's all these different things that Bill was able to to
- 31:58do for such a long time that is so rare that a head coach is
- 32:03able to do that? Because Bill was literally the
- 32:06smartest coach, but he also was a great manager of the people in
- 32:11the building. He understood how to get the
- 32:13most out of each individual. Hey, maybe this guy got to push
- 32:15a little bit differently. Maybe this guy I have to
- 32:18encourage a little bit. That's the greatness of Bill.
- 32:21He's able to figure you out like psychologically and push you.
- 32:25And he understood me on like, hey, that's not good enough.
- 32:28Like I was a negative enforcement motivator.
- 32:31So if you, I don't need a pat on my back, I need you to tell me
- 32:34how how bad I suck and I'll go out there and I'll play better,
- 32:37you know, like that's what I am as a as a player.
- 32:40But I think it was just the amount of time, you know, that
- 32:43documentary I think is a little strange in, in the success and
- 32:47the amount of championships and the amount of wins and all the
- 32:52things that the Patriots were able to do for that long is
- 32:57really never going to be replicated, in my opinion,
- 33:01because of the length. So to celebrate that and to
- 33:04really honor that, I was a part of that and I'm a part of those
- 33:08guys. You can't have the Patriots
- 33:09without Craft. You couldn't have the dynasty
- 33:12without Bill and you couldn't have all that Tom and it all
- 33:16works together. And if you want to change it any
- 33:18way you can. It was doesn't workout.
- 33:20So that's just the way history. That's the way history looks
- 33:22back on it. You know, was the the greatest
- 33:25trio ownership head coach of all time.
- 33:28Maybe one day they'll or whoever they'll say, hey, I wish I would
- 33:32have handled that ending differently, but it is the way
- 33:34it is and ends great. You know, I think about, you
- 33:37know, my high school girlfriend that didn't end well.
- 33:38Nothing ends great. I mean really hard to end things
- 33:41on a high note. Really.
- 33:42The endings are always going to be tough.
- 33:45How about Tom Brady off the field?
- 33:47What type of player? What type of person is he?
- 33:50Tom isn't a insane connector, so I don't care if it's you're
- 33:55playing cards on the airplane, if you're playing wiffle ball in
- 33:59the locker room, if you're shooting baskets, he's always
- 34:02trying to win. So I would say that Tom is #1
- 34:06most generous, competitive, everything that he can.
- 34:10So it's either if he's going to be the best football player, the
- 34:13best friend, anything, he's going to go all in on that.
- 34:16And I've told this story, but there's two here.
- 34:19I was on an airplane, I was flying back from maybe Miami,
- 34:22and we're playing cards and I see Tom walk back and I'm like,
- 34:27I don't want to play with Tom because he's got an in pot.
- 34:30So if the pot grows, he's never going to back out.
- 34:33He's just going to grow and grow.
- 34:35It's just going to get bigger. So when Tom started playing
- 34:37cards, I said to myself, if I can win Tom's money, I'm out and
- 34:41I'm not playing anymore. So we were playing like Boo Ray.
- 34:45The pot grew. It was like 1500 and it was
- 34:49Tom's money and I won and I said I'm done for the day.
- 34:53I'm good. And he looked at me crazy.
- 34:56He's like you are not stopping, I'm going to win my money back.
- 34:59And I said, Tom, I got $1500 a year money.
- 35:02I'm going to go buy. Something with this, you know,
- 35:06and he was so mad and I could see it pissed off about it, but
- 35:10and I didn't play. I was done because the pot was
- 35:1225,000. He would have continued and I'm
- 35:14not that guy. I'm not a gambler like that.
- 35:17We're had a small group of guys playing cards in the pot.
- 35:20Might have got to 1000 bucks, not 25 or 50,000.
- 35:23That's a drop in the hat for Tom.
- 35:25So that was the only time we played cards.
- 35:27This was the captain's meeting one year.
- 35:30And in the captain's meeting, they go around and they ask, you
- 35:33know, hey, how's the defensive line looking and all they're
- 35:35good and hey, Tom, how's the quarterbacks?
- 35:37How's the offense for good? They go around and as we're
- 35:41walking out of the building, look at his watch and I go, man,
- 35:44Tom, that's a nice watch. And it was like A tag because he
- 35:47had some sponsorship with tag, said, hey, you got a guy?
- 35:49Because I'd love to buy that, you know, like you got a guy.
- 35:52And he looks at me and he goes, do I have a guy?
- 35:54Do I? Of course I have a guy.
- 35:56Think anything of it? Like that was all I said to him.
- 35:58And the next day I come in the locker room and there's a brown
- 36:03box on my locker on my chair. And he had got me the watch
- 36:08brand new in a box. And I was like, are you are you
- 36:13kidding me? Like who does that?
- 36:15It was insane. Like it was like most thoughtful
- 36:19things. Like I just complimented on his
- 36:21watch. That's all I did.
- 36:22And and I had that watch in my lock.
- 36:24Crazy, just unbelievable. So that's just a small story
- 36:27about Tom. He's, he's a very generous, very
- 36:32sensitive, you know, he's emotional guy.
- 36:34We've seen that before. But that's just the way he
- 36:36really is. He's truly like that in real
- 36:38life. He's he's gonna be emotional.
- 36:41He's gonna, you know, talk to you truthfully, and he's gonna
- 36:45give you everything he's got. Well, before we let you go,
- 36:48there's somebody that wants to say hello to you.
- 36:51He's the guy. Yo, what's up, my guy?
- 36:54What up dude how you doing? How you been?
- 36:57I'm good. How?
- 36:58You doing thank you for joining our show and thank you for
- 37:01taking the time to to talk to Arrow, Java and and Speedy.
- 37:05They're great people. I love working with them.
- 37:08I don't know if you didn't didn't know.
- 37:10I'm the PR manager for the show now too, so double work.
- 37:13Awesome. Very cool.
- 37:15Yeah, very cool. Well, that.
- 37:16Then you still didn't get anything on his walls.
- 37:19Look me, I'm like my wife's going to kill me if she sees
- 37:21that. Like I, I literally, this is my
- 37:23like own domain, my college helmets.
- 37:25I got all my NFL helmets back here.
- 37:28You got your mancaids. This is just my space.
- 37:30To come up. Look at these cleats.
- 37:32These are Super Bowl winning cleats.
- 37:33Still have the confetti stuck on the bottom.
- 37:35Oh. Wow, that's crazy.
- 37:37Damn. That's oh, that's awesome.
- 37:39Well, isn't that crazy? Rob So I just tell my kids, do
- 37:42not step off. Rob, we had to get you to
- 37:45Fanatics. Fanatics Fest next year or Super
- 37:48Bowl? Let's do it.
- 37:49Yeah. Let's do it.
- 37:51I'm ready. Oh, what's that?
- 37:52Nice, I love it. Sweat stains everything.
- 37:56That's the best. He also Jabba kept the best
- 37:59Jabba kept his underpants too in the, you know, in the World
- 38:02Series too. I kept everything they tried.
- 38:05They Hey Rob, when you guys won, did they try to steal your shit?
- 38:11Dude, so after the Super Bowl, after the Super Bowl, I go in
- 38:17the backroom back to the state. This is after Super Bowl 49.
- 38:22So we play in Arizona and Arizona's field was terrible.
- 38:27It was super like super slick, super like slimy.
- 38:32They painted the whole field green.
- 38:34There wasn't much grass there. It was crazy.
- 38:37So Bill came in, he mandated, he goes.
- 38:40Everybody is putting on their cleats.
- 38:43So these cleats are like long metal studs.
- 38:46When I got back to where's this is that helmet?
- 38:49One second. So when I got back to the
- 38:51stadium after we won, this is that helmet, that one, this is
- 38:55the 49. So when I got back to the
- 38:58stadium, I was like, where's all my stuff?
- 39:01Like where's my pads? Where's my pants?
- 39:04Where's my jersey? They had everybody's stuff in
- 39:08the back, like folded but put away almost like they were going
- 39:11to sell it or something. So I walked back there.
- 39:14I grabbed my pants, my gloves, my cleats, my helmet,
- 39:18everything. I took it out, took it all out.
- 39:22So. They tried to do the same thing.
- 39:24They told us like, hey, if you, if you want them like run this.
- 39:28And so like this flag in the background.
- 39:31They only made two of them and Johnny had one.
- 39:35I had the other. They took Johnny's.
- 39:38I had my clubby. I gave him 500 bucks to go put
- 39:43it in the back of my car so they couldn't find it and this is the
- 39:47only other one that they have. I don't know where the other one
- 39:49at but this one literally is sitting on my wall well.
- 39:52I don't. I don't want to get in trouble,
- 39:53that's for sure. This is so this one right here.
- 39:57This is the Super Bowl comeback. This is the comeback jersey.
- 40:02So I still got all my marks on it and I got all the black paint
- 40:05and everything. All right, Stop bragging, Mr.
- 40:08Rich. Stop.
- 40:09Bragging. Let's go.
- 40:11Hold on, Hold on. Do you remember the Sanchez
- 40:14fumble? I sacked Sanchez this.
- 40:16Jersey. OK, you know what?
- 40:19Screw you, fumble. Screw you, right?
- 40:22I recovered the ball. This is that Jersey.
- 40:24You know what? You know what?
- 40:26I liked you and then you had to bring up that story.
- 40:30Thank you anyways, Rob. Green on that?
- 40:33Rob, we love you man, and we'd love to get you on the show
- 40:36again. We definitely would love to get
- 40:39your your content if the Patriots so-called make the
- 40:43playoffs. Let's get you on the show.
- 40:45Let's talk a little Patriots football.
- 40:47I'm sure you have your own take on Drake, May as he's not.
- 40:53Well, you should check out. Rob has a Hey, Rob, go plug your
- 40:57show on your show. Plug your show.
- 40:59Yeah, Rob, plug your show. Yes, Scott, I got a podcast.
- 41:03It's me and my buddy Dan. So it's the Dan and Ninko show
- 41:05car dealer in New England. So he made he had a bunch of car
- 41:08dealers when I used to use cars from him.
- 41:12We started a show. So we we talk about sports cars,
- 41:18a little bit of everything. We drink beers on the show.
- 41:20It's always fun. You know, we try a new beer
- 41:22every every episode, try different beers locally,
- 41:26different brews. So it's it's a laid back have a
- 41:30good time. It's a good show.
- 41:31Dan and Anko show. But I think back to your
- 41:36statement about the Patriots. I think they have a really good
- 41:40perfect storm of a week schedule and also a down NFL to where,
- 41:47you know, you look at the first beginning, the first four weeks
- 41:50of the season, they lost to the Raiders.
- 41:51They lost to the Steelers. Like those two teams they could
- 41:54easily beat, right? They were beating themselves
- 41:56with penalties, turnovers, the whole thing.
- 41:59So if Drake May can continue to take care of the football #1
- 42:04don't turn the ball over, don't throw interceptions, hold on to
- 42:07the ball, right? I think that they're gonna have
- 42:10a good opportunity to get into the playoffs now once you get in
- 42:14the playoffs. Anything can happen.
- 42:15I don't it's anything can happen.
- 42:17It's any it's it's honestly it's the most disciplined teams that
- 42:22are able to move on. And the ones that aren't, they
- 42:24usually lose by screwing up a field goal or time of
- 42:28possession. Or The Jets, you know they don't
- 42:29get 3 at the half. The Jets, you know The Jets.
- 42:32So The Jets kind of kind of like The Jets, but The Jets won't
- 42:36sniff the playoffs this. Year all right all right, Rob,
- 42:40I'm I'm good here. Thank you for joining the show.
- 42:44I, I knew it. I knew it.
- 42:46I, I knew it. Every time I get a patriot on
- 42:48this show, they, they, they did. You served it up on a platter.
- 42:52Listen, listen. I served a lot of things up on a
- 42:55platter. If you listen to our show, you
- 42:57think, you think your show's crazy.
- 42:59Oh my God, just listen to this one.
- 43:01But we really appreciate the time, man, and we love you and,
- 43:05and we definitely want to get you back on the show.
- 43:07So whenever you'd like to come back, you bring Dan on the show.
- 43:12We'll go back and forth and argue.
- 43:13Just not drink beer. That's, that's we're, we're
- 43:16trying to stay, we're trying to keep it away from beer.
- 43:19We're, we're trying to, we're trying to be a clean cut show,
- 43:22you know? We're trying.
- 43:23Well, you know, just one light beer is never going to hurt.
- 43:27You I don't drink. OK, so I'm from the.
- 43:29Midwest my I grew up in Joliet, IL.
- 43:32You're from Illinois, he's from Nebraska.
- 43:35Oh my God. And we're from New York.
- 43:37Figure that one out. Wonderful.
- 43:39It's just a wonderful combination.
- 43:41But Rob, you're fantastic. Keep up the good work.
- 43:45I definitely want to get you on the show again.
- 43:47I know Jabba does. So we'll talk off air.
- 43:50And thank you for joining us. All right.
- 43:54Thanks guys. Have a great rest of your show.
- 43:57Rob Nikovich, he's fantastic. Great.
- 44:01Interview. Great interview, gave us so many
- 44:04good takes, told us so many different stories, knows how to
- 44:07hold the conversation. Great job, guys, great job.
- 44:09Awesome job that was. All he's a former patriot that
- 44:13kind of got under my skin, but nevertheless I liked it.
- 44:18I I can't I can't hate on a person that has a good
- 44:20personality. All right, speedy start of the
- 44:23week. The Speedy.
- 44:27Well, you may run like me, but you hit like out of the wake.
- 44:33So you, you want me to tell you guys something?
- 44:34I'm about to do a basketball draft, OK.
- 44:38And and this is the craziest thing.
- 44:40They purposely did this because they want me to lose these
- 44:44SOP's. It's fantasy.
- 44:47I'm I'm playing fantasy. I do it every year.
- 44:49And my friend Justin, he purposely 2 years ago didn't
- 44:53tell me the rules and I drafted the wrong player.
- 44:56So now I got, I got it all set up and these guys are cracking
- 44:59jokes right now saying don't do another arrow, don't do another
- 45:03arrow. So I I'm going to outsmart them
- 45:06this year and absolutely execute them.
- 45:09I think I'm drafting 3. I'm drafting 6th.
- 45:13So the IT looks like it would be either Cunningham or Edwards.
- 45:19So I gotta have to make a decision soon but.
- 45:21Oh, your boy, Anne Edwards. Yeah, but I, I, I, it's either
- 45:25him or I might go big, maybe pick Anthony Davis, but I'm, I'm
- 45:29afraid Anthony Davis can't stay healthy.
- 45:31Fish out the off field issues don't matter.
- 45:32For for for fantasy, yeah. It doesn't.
- 45:35No, I, I think, I think logic says take the kid who's still
- 45:38getting better. And who's that?
- 45:40You know Anthony there, Cunningham?
- 45:43Kate. Cunningham's really young.
- 45:47I know he's really young. I'm probably going to go
- 45:49Anthony. So Anthony Edwards.
- 45:51Think that might be a mistake? I'm not.
- 45:54He gets hard more, he gets more, more stat categories.
- 45:56Kate Coney GAMP doesn't stay healthy.
- 45:58I'm. With our own.
- 45:59Jared Jared says Cade was a better fantasy player last year.
- 46:02Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was.
- 46:04But Anthony Edwards is a guy that stays healthy.
- 46:07So I'm going to keep the healthier guy and the guy that
- 46:10falls flat on his face. We'll see.
- 46:12We'll see how it all falls together.
- 46:13The projection, because who knows what could happen?
- 46:17Who knows? All right, let's get the music
- 46:19going. Speedy, What's the stat?
- 46:21Of the week. Well, this is dedicated to our
- 46:23guest Rob Ninkovich and to our guy Mikey C, who I beat in our
- 46:27fantasy Hockey League. This week.
- 46:29I took him down. I'll go to his future top five
- 46:32quarterback in Drake May, who set the New England Patriots
- 46:35franchise record for best completion percentage of the
- 46:37game at 91.3%. Tom Brady never did that in his
- 46:40career. His highest was 88.5.
- 46:42May's mark is tied for 8th in NFL history at 91.3.
- 46:46Jaden Daniels actually did it last year, the same exact
- 46:48amount, 21 of 23 passing when the Commanders played against
- 46:52the Bengals last year. He's also the only quarterback
- 46:55this year to have two touchdowns, 2 touchdown passes
- 46:58in a game this season of over 50 air yards as well.
- 47:03No quarterback has done that. And finally to round it out,
- 47:05despite the Belichick and Brady dynasty, they have never won 3
- 47:10consecutive Rd. games in the three straight weeks.
- 47:13The Patriots has just done that this week, beating the Bills,
- 47:16beating the Saints and now beating the Titans.
- 47:18OK, let me let me explain something to you.
- 47:21The Saints suck, the Titans suck, and the Bills can't stop
- 47:27the run. Stop this rubbish.
- 47:30If you look at the Patriots and what the Patriots have done with
- 47:33Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, it's a lot more amazing than
- 47:36Drake May and Mr. Vrabel. Stop selling me something that
- 47:40was never done when they're playing garbage compared to what
- 47:43the teams they had to be in those days, the Rex Ryan's, the
- 47:48Miami Dolphins that were pretty good at some points, you know,
- 47:51so I disagree with you, Speedy. Eat it and beat it.
- 47:58All right, so that is the stat of the week, which always leads
- 48:02into whip around whip. Whip, whip, whip around.
- 48:10All right, here it is. This is your chance, Errol.
- 48:14We're going to start the whip around with the 13 to 6 victory
- 48:20by the Panthers over The Jets. Curiously, Chubba Hubbard
- 48:26started the game over Rico Dowdle.
- 48:27I guess coming back from injury didn't want to give away the
- 48:29starting spot. That'll was clearly the more
- 48:31effective back. 79 yards rushing to 31 from Hubbard.
- 48:34Bryce Young got hurt in the game, didn't matter.
- 48:37Still enough to beat The Jets and Justin Fields with a second
- 48:40straight game under 50 yards passing.
- 48:43He gets benched for Tyrod Taylor who throws 2 interceptions.
- 48:47We had a 40 something percent completion percentage, no
- 48:50running game whatsoever. Breece Hall 38 yards and 11
- 48:53carries, Leading receiver was Tyler Johnson.
- 48:57Mason Taylor had a few catches but nothing doing whatsoever for
- 49:02The Jets O and Seven. Errol, where do we go from here?
- 49:07Fields is now benched. What?
- 49:09What are they doing? Well, it's pretty simple.
- 49:11Breece Hall is just weighing himself out of New York.
- 49:15He has not done enough this year.
- 49:16I expected him to be an elite running back, top five.
- 49:19He's fallen out of that. He he's up and down.
- 49:22He doesn't really play well against great defenses.
- 49:24Isn't and Justin Fields isn't the answer.
- 49:26It seems like he's not the answer.
- 49:28He's not going to be the answer. Everybody wants to point their
- 49:30fingers at Aaron Glenn. Aaron Glenn is not the guy.
- 49:34Do they look towards the offseason and bring it up?
- 49:36Mike McCarthy or a veteran coach that has been successful in the
- 49:41league, an offensive minded coach.
- 49:44I think The Jets are going to give this guy a chance at least
- 49:46another year or two to figure out the ups and downs of of this
- 49:51roster. This roster is not Aaron Glenn's
- 49:53roster. I didn't expect them to be O and
- 49:56seven, but I maybe one or two wins at best at this time.
- 49:59Right now, The Jets are a team that obviously doesn't have
- 50:03enough offensively and defensively have not played
- 50:07well. Front 7 has not played well
- 50:09besides Quinton Williams. You you lost your one of your
- 50:12best linebackers and and his brother Williams has been out a
- 50:17significant amount of time, has not played.
- 50:19And, and you see what how important CJ Mosley was with
- 50:22what this defense was last year when he when they had him as a
- 50:25captain and guy running that defense.
- 50:27And by the way, Sherwood stinks. He is horrible.
- 50:31That contract that The Jets gave him in the offseason was an
- 50:33absolute outrage. You can see it's going to set
- 50:37The Jets back on that linebacker position.
- 50:40Where did The Jets go? Well, Jets got to wait until the
- 50:42offseason. Here's where they go.
- 50:44Fernando Mendoza. That's where The Jets need to go
- 50:49as far as I'm concerned. It's absolutely obnoxious, the
- 50:52Jet fans and what these analysts are saying about this
- 50:55organization. I know the organization stinks.
- 50:58We all know this organization has not made the playoffs in 15
- 51:01years. The problem here is that there
- 51:04is not enough on the secondary and there's not enough wide
- 51:07receiving help. Garrett Wilson is the only
- 51:09decent or only great player on the offensive side of the ball
- 51:13and and it looks like Reese Hall is weighed out as welcomed with
- 51:15the New York Jets. That's all I'm going to say
- 51:17about The Jets. They suck.
- 51:19They're probably going to go for over until probably week 11,
- 51:22week 12 when they play New Orleans.
- 51:24When are they playing New Orleans?
- 51:25I don't even know. Whenever they play New Orleans,
- 51:27that'll probably the only when they have or they bring home to
- 51:31New York, they're obnoxiously, obnoxiously bad.
- 51:34That's all I'm going to say. Looks like week 14 for.
- 51:37So Week 14 will probably be their first win.
- 51:40They'll still be the number one pick.
- 51:42Yeah, The Jets defense last two weeks especially played better.
- 51:46The Broncos we we talked about like, I mean, maybe their
- 51:48offense isn't as good as we thought it would be, but it's
- 51:50still a talented enough offense. And The Jets held them to just
- 51:5213 points and then the Panthers were hot offense coming in, not
- 51:55an overly talented one. Good offensive line.
- 51:57Obviously Mcmillan's been a nice rookie so far this year and
- 52:00Bryce Young has played better the last few years.
- 52:02Obviously getting hurt did not help anything.
- 52:04Xavier Leggetto getting involved too for the Panthers offense is
- 52:06definitely good to see. They need it.
- 52:08Real second guy Jimmy Horns actually developed into a nice
- 52:10player. And like I said that offensive
- 52:12lines good. The Jets again finding their way
- 52:14on defense. Offensively still not there yet.
- 52:16Offensive line still holding their own to an extent, but
- 52:19again, they have two mobile quarterbacks to hold the ball
- 52:21too long. And Fields.
- 52:22I paid the price for it getting hurt getting hit a bunch and now
- 52:24gets benched for it as a result. Yeah, it's the, it's The Jets.
- 52:29We've we've covered them enough. I don't want to pour salt in the
- 52:32wound for Mr. Arrow, Mark. So we'll just, we'll just leave
- 52:35it at that. Don't worry Java, they make they
- 52:38make you sore. Yeah, they leaned out the.
- 52:42Wound. Yeah, there there is, There is
- 52:44that they. Rex Ryan made him.
- 52:46So I was going to ask. He liked Rex Ryan so much.
- 52:48I wonder if he had a foot fetish.
- 52:49Just as well probably. Just I mean he kept all his
- 52:53cleats, so he probably has so. Love it.
- 52:56I love that stuff. I did too.
- 52:57I mean like sweat stains still like I still got the dirt from
- 53:01the bottom of my cleats. I I still have, I put dirt in
- 53:04coasters from the field. So yeah, I'd love.
- 53:07This, by the way, Alexander felt to me.
- 53:11Wow. So I got Alexander.
- 53:13Yeah, that's awesome. And I didn't pick him.
- 53:15It automatically picked him. That's great.
- 53:17Shy did. Shy.
- 53:19Yeah, I got shy, Alexander. Wait at six.
- 53:21At six, he. Felt to me, yeah.
- 53:24Who's in your? League Who went ahead of?
- 53:26Who were the five guys that went ahead of?
- 53:28Him. Edwards went ahead of him.
- 53:31There was a couple of guys that. Went That's crazy.
- 53:34I'm listen, I'm not complaining. What do I care?
- 53:37I'm fine you're. Crazy.
- 53:38These guys know what they're doing, man.
- 53:40They know what they're. Doing Oh yeah, they do.
- 53:42They took. That's not.
- 53:43They just passed up on the. MP trust me, trust me, these
- 53:46guys know what they're doing. I'm not lying.
- 53:48They know what they're doing. So I guess they're fading OK.
- 53:51They don't. They don't.
- 53:53They're not. Looking Let's talk about someone
- 53:55I was. Fading offensive remember this
- 53:57leak is APPR league you're looking at rebounds, you're
- 53:59looking at everything so that's that's the way they look at it
- 54:02so. Yeah, whatever.
- 54:05I still disagree because it doesn't make a difference.
- 54:08I'm usually wrong. Like I am about the six and one
- 54:10Colts who have the best record in the NFL, 38 to 24.
- 54:16They defeat the Chargers. Some silly numbers in this game.
- 54:20Daniel Jones again hyper efficient. 23 of 34288 yards, 2
- 54:24touchdowns. Jonathan Taylor have been doing
- 54:27it all season long. 16 carries, 94 yards, 3 touchdowns on the
- 54:32ground, 5.9 yards per carry. Tyler Warren with another
- 54:37touchdown. Michael Pittman, Junior with
- 54:39another touchdown on the other side in kind of, you know,
- 54:42comeback mode, which is not going to be enough.
- 54:45Herbert goes 37 of 55 for 420 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 picks.
- 54:51They had no running game again. They lost both their running
- 54:54backs and they going with Kimani Vidal only 9 carries, 20 yards,
- 55:00tight end. I guess he's a tight end.
- 55:02Speedy Arande Gadsden junior or the second. 7 catches, 164 yards
- 55:06and a touchdown out of nowhere. Probably going to be the number
- 55:09one guy added in fantasy waivers this week.
- 55:12Keenan Allen, 11 catches, 119 yards, touchdown.
- 55:15Not enough. Couldn't get it done.
- 55:17A juggernaut in Indianapolis. Errol.
- 55:21No question, Danny Dimes could be an MVP candidate by the end
- 55:27of the season. I love it.
- 55:29I love it. His quarterback rating is at 113
- 55:33right now, one of the best in the league. 288 yards, 2
- 55:37touching pass, A2 touchdown passes and he has one of the
- 55:41best running backs. It's not the best running back
- 55:42right now in the league. And Taylor, it's sensational.
- 55:44It's fun to watch, Their fun team to watch.
- 55:46This is one of the more underrated defenses in the
- 55:49league, one of the best offensive lines, I think top
- 55:52three. This team is working on all
- 55:54cylinders. You can ask me right now.
- 55:56Right now, this is the best team in the AFC and this team could
- 56:00absolutely go to the Super Bowl this year.
- 56:03Who would have thought? Saquon Barkley wins the Super
- 56:05Bowl last year, and this year Danny Dimes wins the Super Bowl
- 56:10with the Indianapolis. Great story, love it.
- 56:13Sit on it, fish. If they're going to win a super.
- 56:19What did I do that? What did I ever do to deserve
- 56:21that, though, Errol? It's not like I'm a bad person.
- 56:23You. Can't.
- 56:24Stand I hope I help kids in need.
- 56:28Why did I ever do to deserve this kind of treatment?
- 56:33Do I have to get my popcorn ready again?
- 56:35You 2. No, I got nothing.
- 56:38There's nothing. There's nothing.
- 56:39What am I supposed to say, you know?
- 56:42Yeah, You got a Colts team that has a top five player at
- 56:45quarterback, running back and tight end so far this year.
- 56:48And you can get away with that in today's NFL if you have good
- 56:50offensive coaching, even with the receivers.
- 56:52Like still Pittman's a good receiver, but you're still like
- 56:54a lot of question marks after that.
- 56:56You can get away with that with top end coaching, as you've seen
- 56:58with the Chiefs, as you've seen obviously with the Rams over the
- 57:02years. When McVeigh first started, he
- 57:04was bringing Robert Woods, trying to rebirth him and all
- 57:05those guys. You can get away with that kind
- 57:08of thing. The Patriots obviously look at
- 57:10all the random receivers besides Edelman that they had and the
- 57:12defense, like Errol was saying, is very well-rounded.
- 57:14This is a game. They were down to corners in
- 57:17this game and still play very well.
- 57:18You've been to the garbage time stats.
- 57:19Those are garbage time stats for a reason.
- 57:21The Colts dominated this game. All right, I'm up, guys.
- 57:25I'm up guys. We got Trey Young, Donovan
- 57:28Mitchell. Now I need rebounds.
- 57:30Thompson, Mobley, Ball, Brunson Barnes, Giddy Brown.
- 57:36Who do I go with? I mean.
- 57:39Mobley of that group you need to.
- 57:40Rebound, yeah, you just mentioned Mobley and said.
- 57:43Donovan Mitchell? You don't think I should go with
- 57:45Donovan? Not for Reed, not if you're
- 57:47going, you said. Rebounds.
- 57:48No, no, no. I'm just saying that it's my
- 57:50second pick. Donovan Mitchell's sitting over
- 57:52there. Do I?
- 57:52Do I pick Donovan Mitchell? A lot of people like Mobley, you
- 57:56know, for being like a multi stat guy, but Trey Young is
- 57:59going to fill it up all. Right, I took Mobley.
- 58:01All right, let's go with. I would have picked between
- 58:03those two. Jabba, what do you got on this
- 58:05one before I can mercifully move on.
- 58:08Danny Dimes, of course. And then I mean Herbert, yeah,
- 58:11his numbers look good, but a lot of those, a lot of those numbers
- 58:13came in late too. And I mean, it's yeah, he's
- 58:18coming forward and 20 yards. But yeah, I mean, they continue
- 58:21to go out and like everybody's kind of said that other than
- 58:24Errol, who must have like the BIFF Sports Almanac said that
- 58:27they would be 6 and one many times would be an MVP.
- 58:30So hey, Passover, some of that BIFF information, Dom, that's
- 58:35that's. Still like one of the greatest
- 58:37plot devices in any movie. Like he goes back in time and
- 58:40has the answers to all the betting and he just becomes a
- 58:42billionaire. I should be a billionaire if I
- 58:46if I made that bet, I'd be pretty rich.
- 58:50Changes history, it's AI mean Back to future 2 is pretty good
- 58:53sequel people, I think underrated.
- 58:55All right, let's get into the Thursday game and the London
- 59:00game. The Jaguars, how many times they
- 59:02play in London? Speedy, like 7 this year so far,
- 59:05like every game feels like I'm going to talk about that when we
- 59:09get to call your shot later tonight at the end of the show.
- 59:11Got a little theory about the Jaguars there, but the Bengals
- 59:16with Joltin Joe Flacco, the defeat of the Steelers on
- 59:20Thursday, 33 to 31. You remember we did a little
- 59:23story arrow of Tomlin getting pretty pissed off that the
- 59:26Bengals were given Flacco. And there it is.
- 59:29Flacco with no like more less than a week of practice. 31 and
- 59:3447342 and 3 touchdowns on the Steelers out of control.
- 59:40Aaron Rodgers and the lost 249 yards, 4 touchdowns, 2 picks.
- 59:44Jalen Warren 127 yards rushing, another 31 receiving Fryer move.
- 59:48Had 111 yards and two touchdowns for the Steelers and the other
- 59:53one Jaguars no showed the game in London.
- 59:56The Rams far superior team. Jaguars seem to be a pretender.
- 1:00:00Rams 35, Jaguars 7. Here, here's the facts.
- 1:00:03The Bengals and the Steelers. What a pathetic game.
- 1:00:06And I I'll go back at it. Who cares if Joe Flacco was
- 1:00:11training in the same division? Nobody cares that the Bengals
- 1:00:14aren't going anywhere unless Joe Burrow comes back.
- 1:00:17It was a great game. It was a great win for the the
- 1:00:20Bengals against the Steelers team.
- 1:00:21That's not very good defensively.
- 1:00:23And if they're not very good defensively, they're not going
- 1:00:26anywhere. Aaron Rodgers is playing a
- 1:00:28little bit better than he did with The Jets.
- 1:00:29This is not the same Aaron Rodgers with the Green Packers,
- 1:00:32so bite on it all right. As far as the Rams in the
- 1:00:36Jaguars, I, I got a, I got a text, a picture of what this
- 1:00:42gremlin did in the game where he had 100 yards and it was at
- 1:00:45crappy. It was in the crappy fourth
- 1:00:47quarter. If you look at his numbers going
- 1:00:49to the fourth quarter, he had like 45 yards for five catches.
- 1:00:54Then all of a sudden in the fourth quarter when nobody was
- 1:00:57given a crap, including the Rams defense, this guy finally gets
- 1:01:00his first touchdown and he has 100 yards.
- 1:01:03This guy is not good. Keith, you're not selling me
- 1:01:06something that is just absolute bogusness.
- 1:01:09Stop selling something that's not good.
- 1:01:12Good. He stinks.
- 1:01:13He stinks. That's it.
- 1:01:16He got lucky. The Rams gave that touchdown up
- 1:01:21to that loser. That's all I'm going to say.
- 1:01:23Good offensive, good offensive coaches know how to elevate
- 1:01:26teams, especially when you don't have your number one wide
- 1:01:28receiver. We've seen that do with the
- 1:01:29Chiefs doing that all year when Rice was suspended and obviously
- 1:01:32Worthy was hurt a lot of the year.
- 1:01:33The Rams did this now with Kuka Nakua, who is probably the best
- 1:01:35receiver in football over the first six weeks.
- 1:01:38He got hurt at the in the third quarter, I think last week and
- 1:01:41they their offense scores 35 points.
- 1:01:43They mix it up with the running back.
- 1:01:44They spread the they spread the ball around very nicely against
- 1:01:46the Jaguars defense that was coming in actually very good.
- 1:01:49They were one of the top 10 past defenses in the league.
- 1:01:52They were really good at getting pressure on the quarterback and
- 1:01:54the Rams held their own. Their defense has been great all
- 1:01:56year. If their offense could play like
- 1:01:57this, they're right there with the Bucks and the Eagles up
- 1:01:59there at the top of the NFC. As far as the Bengals and
- 1:02:01Steelers, I agree with that. All like the Steelers, I don't
- 1:02:03trust the playoff team right now whatsoever.
- 1:02:05I would probably trust the Patriots to get in in the
- 1:02:07playoffs more than Steelers. And believe it or not, I would
- 1:02:09trust the Chargers more, even with all the injuries that
- 1:02:11they've had. The Bengals.
- 1:02:12Just a matter of how quick Borough can come back.
- 1:02:14But if you can come back quick, they play The Jets next week,
- 1:02:16maybe they're right there. We'll see.
- 1:02:17Yeah, I think the Bengals, it's just, I mean, Borough is their
- 1:02:21offense kind of too. So when he goes, they go.
- 1:02:24So if he does get back, I think they can probably make a little
- 1:02:27run here. But yeah, Rams, the Rams are
- 1:02:30interesting because you always have that like next guy up
- 1:02:34mentality and they've kind of shown that throughout this year.
- 1:02:37And then of course, the gremlin, the the one time the the wheel
- 1:02:41of of the quarter doesn't I, I pick Travis Hunter, just maybe
- 1:02:44he'll go off and save your tears.
- 1:02:46But he never, never does anything.
- 1:02:48For you guys, Ready, Paul Barnes?
- 1:02:51Giddy Williams. Who's hurt right now?
- 1:02:53Murray, Jackson Junior White, Wagner, Murphy.
- 1:02:57Who do you go with? I like Barnes or Wagner, they're
- 1:03:01both good. Wagner is injury prone though.
- 1:03:03I mean, Barnes I guess is a. Little Jackson junior wouldn't
- 1:03:05go with Jackson Junior. For categories.
- 1:03:08I mean, you just took that. You just took the center though
- 1:03:10in Mobley. You shouldn't go double up.
- 1:03:12Should I go? Should I go ball?
- 1:03:13Probably should take a ball. You probably should go either.
- 1:03:16Scotty Barnes, Look, Lamelo Balls got a he's he's like a
- 1:03:19super wild card. He's like a he's waiting to
- 1:03:22explode. But he could also play in 25
- 1:03:25games. You know what I mean?
- 1:03:26Like the biggest variance. I'm going to go with balls super
- 1:03:29risk. I'm going to take your I'm going
- 1:03:31to take your advice on this baby.
- 1:03:32I'm going to take it and hopefully I'll sync it.
- 1:03:35All right, all. Right job, but you got anything
- 1:03:40else on this one? No, no, I'm good.
- 1:03:43All right, let's move on. We're.
- 1:03:44Picking this team together, guys, we're picking it together.
- 1:03:49So you just is it just a starting 5?
- 1:03:51No, nothing crazy. It's a whole team.
- 1:03:53It's a whole team. Oh.
- 1:03:54Yeah. All right, so let's go to one of
- 1:03:56your favorite quarterbacks in the NFL, Errol and well, I mean
- 1:04:00Caleb Williams, but I was really talking about Spencer Rattler.
- 1:04:0320 of 32, 233, two touchdowns, 3 interceptions.
- 1:04:08They were not very good. He also lost the fumble, 4
- 1:04:12turnovers he was responsible for.
- 1:04:14Olave had a good game, 98 yards, 2 touchdowns.
- 1:04:17The Bears didn't really need to throw all that much.
- 1:04:19It was mostly done on the ground.
- 1:04:20DeAndre Swift has woken up last couple of weeks. 124 yards and a
- 1:04:24touchdown. Kyle Manon guys, is a name that
- 1:04:27we're going to have to Start learning.
- 1:04:29That's weird spelling. 1 error, 13 carries, 81 yards, touchdown
- 1:04:33is the backup running back. And on the other game, the
- 1:04:38Browns. I mean, I guess Mike McDaniel
- 1:04:41still has his job. I was half expecting to have to
- 1:04:43do a story on that today. Yeah, they got absolutely
- 1:04:46obliterated to. It looks like he's not an NFL
- 1:04:48quarterback anymore the way they're playing. 12 of 23100
- 1:04:52yards and three picks. They brought Quinn Ewers into
- 1:04:55this game, not Zach Wilson. He was demoted to third string
- 1:04:59for Quinn. Yours tell you how Zach's doing
- 1:05:01over there. Zach attack Dylan Gabriel, not
- 1:05:03much doing in the in the air. Didn't need to Quinn.
- 1:05:06Sean Judkins, the running back from Ohio State who had the
- 1:05:10great championship game, 25 carries, 84 yards, 3 touchdowns
- 1:05:14on the ground and that was pretty much it for those two
- 1:05:19games. Boys, what do you got?
- 1:05:22Well, it's pretty simple. The Bears swift is over the last
- 1:05:26two weeks has been unbelievable. They've been running the ball.
- 1:05:28Monongai looks like he's a player that is going to be a big
- 1:05:32part of this offense for the very near future.
- 1:05:35This team has a tremendous amount of offense.
- 1:05:38Look at more a doomsday. Loveland is actually catching
- 1:05:41the ball now. They're spreading this offense
- 1:05:43out very, very well. I think this Bears team is just
- 1:05:46fun, fun, fun, fun to watch. And here's another thing, as far
- 1:05:50as I'm concerned with the Saints, what is going on with
- 1:05:53Alvin Kamara? Is he going to be a guy that
- 1:05:56they trade at the trade deadline?
- 1:05:58I would hope so. Alvin Kamara is having one of
- 1:06:01his worst years. He hasn't really been the same.
- 1:06:03Player they can't, though Errol, their backup got hurt in this
- 1:06:06game. Kendra Miller, but they were
- 1:06:08depending on you're right. You know how old Calvin Alvin
- 1:06:11Kamara is? Think he's out.
- 1:06:13I think he might be my age. I think it's it's like that.
- 1:06:16He's been around for a very long time.
- 1:06:20I don't know. I, no, that's fine.
- 1:06:22I, I, I don't know what Caleb Williams was on Sunday, but I
- 1:06:26think he'll be better. Remember, he's still learning an
- 1:06:29offense. It's, it's, it's not the same
- 1:06:31offense that Matt Eberfluse was running.
- 1:06:33So it's going to be a completely different offense all the way
- 1:06:36through to the end of the season.
- 1:06:37I think Kayla Williams is special and we're going to see
- 1:06:40that as he grows in as a quarterback in the NFL.
- 1:06:43As far as the Browns and the Dolphins, the Browns are so much
- 1:06:45better. Has anybody looked at Miles
- 1:06:47Garrett's body? Dude?
- 1:06:49I saw a tick tock dude. That guy is like he should be
- 1:06:54Conan the Barbarian. Honestly.
- 1:06:56He is like built like it's like I'm I'm I'm just being honest.
- 1:07:03The guy has got some fuzzy man. He he looks unbelievable.
- 1:07:06He looks like a Greek God. The Dolphin stick McDaniel, we
- 1:07:12all know the situation for what it is.
- 1:07:14The Browns, hey, maybe the Browns sneak into the playoffs.
- 1:07:17That is that divisions up and down.
- 1:07:19We don't know what the the bravings are going to be.
- 1:07:21The defense stinks. Lamar Jackson, when is he coming
- 1:07:24back? I I, I don't know.
- 1:07:26I, I, hey, the Browns can make a move and maybe, you know, should
- 1:07:30door Sanders shows up and wins, wins, wins.
- 1:07:36Yeah, I was going to bring that up.
- 1:07:37I would say besides the quarterbacks, the Browns rookie
- 1:07:40class this year has been tremendous.
- 1:07:42Mason Graham and Carson Schweitzinger on on the as a
- 1:07:45linebacker position and then Judkins who you mentioned Fish
- 1:07:48really good rookie running back probably might be the best
- 1:07:50rookie running back right now performance wise, even though he
- 1:07:52missed the first couple games. But per game he looks really
- 1:07:54good and Harold fan in a tight end looks really good as well
- 1:07:57taking over for Najoku in this game.
- 1:07:58This Browns rookie class is really good.
- 1:08:00Miami yeah, they're a lost cause.
- 1:08:01I would if I were them I would shut 2 down the rest of the
- 1:08:04year. See what you have in Quinn
- 1:08:05viewers because again, Tua, you're stuck with that contract,
- 1:08:07you're not going to be able to trade it.
- 1:08:08And with all the concussion problems he has seen what you've
- 1:08:10gotten you. Or maybe you got something with
- 1:08:11a better backup. And the Bears, they did what
- 1:08:13they had to do, play good defense.
- 1:08:15Caleb Bloom's in of his best game.
- 1:08:16But like Errol saying Swift's coming on, that's a good, really
- 1:08:19good sign for a well-rounded offense.
- 1:08:22Yeah, the Saints are awful, and I think Caleb is just going to
- 1:08:25keep getting better. I like these young kids, you
- 1:08:29know, stepping up and playing and doing well.
- 1:08:33The dolphins are just a dumpster fire.
- 1:08:35So like you said, fish. I thought there would be
- 1:08:38something going on there, but I think it's just a ticking time
- 1:08:41bomb for that one to go. But yeah, these young kids
- 1:08:44stepping up, it's been fun. And I still want to see Spencer
- 1:08:48Rattler go off so Errol can go nuts.
- 1:08:53Oh, we got some. I got something for Errol to go
- 1:08:54nuts about here. We got 2 good teams that scored
- 1:08:5731 points and one 3113 Patriots all over the Titans.
- 1:09:03It was close early but they pulled away.
- 1:09:05Got some stats here from the game for you Drake.
- 1:09:08May 21 of 23222 yards, 2 touchdowns.
- 1:09:14Ridiculous efficiency. 8 carries, 62 yards on the ground
- 1:09:17for May from Andre Stevenson. Got it going on 18 carries, 88
- 1:09:21yards and a touchdown. Looks like there is no more
- 1:09:24committee. All right, guys, I'm up again.
- 1:09:26Do I go? John Morant?
- 1:09:28He's still available at 50. Should I go John Moran or should
- 1:09:32I go big? Or.
- 1:09:34All right, Or there's a lot of guys.
- 1:09:35I have Turner available, Duran Ayton, Randall, Julius Randall,
- 1:09:41who's always good. I would.
- 1:09:43Say that's probably the best pack right now.
- 1:09:44Julius Randall Hartstein still available to go bare so.
- 1:09:50I would go Randall. I think so too.
- 1:09:52I'm going to go Randall. You don't know what's going to
- 1:09:55happen with John Moran. The other game arrow is the one
- 1:09:58that I thought was going to make you a little upset.
- 1:10:00The Chiefs 31, the Raiders nothing.
- 1:10:03Gino Smith 10 for 1667 yards. They brought in Kenny Pickett in
- 1:10:08this game. I forgot he was there.
- 1:10:11Patrick Mahomes 26 of 35286 yards, 3 touchdowns.
- 1:10:15Pacheco got a touchdown on the ground, Rashi Rice in his
- 1:10:19return. 7 catches, 42 yards and two touchdowns.
- 1:10:22They spread the ball around, they did the Chiefs thing the
- 1:10:25way they usually do it. They destroyed the Raiders and
- 1:10:28Errol. Get this, the league betting odd
- 1:10:32favorite for MVP right now is Patrick Mahomes at -140.
- 1:10:40All right let's go to the Patriots right now I I know
- 1:10:44everybody has this like love fetish for Drake may he looks
- 1:10:47really really good. There's no question that he does
- 1:10:50top five Mikey sees on drugs he's not stop selling that it's
- 1:10:54not happening, but I would say he's a top ten quarterback right
- 1:10:58now. I would put him at 9 or 10 right
- 1:11:00now he's having he's having a good year the AFC is weak.
- 1:11:03So can the Patriots win the AFC's?
- 1:11:05Absolutely. If the Buffalo Bills can't stop
- 1:11:08the run, they're going to have problems winning that division.
- 1:11:10They're a wild card team at best right now.
- 1:11:13But the way Buffalo's playing defense, they got to change.
- 1:11:15But I, I think that the Patriots are playing crappy teams and
- 1:11:19they're beating the like they're supposed to beating the crappy
- 1:11:22teams. I am very impressed with Rashad
- 1:11:25Stevenson. I I think he's starting to get
- 1:11:28his feet under him. You're seeing why he's so
- 1:11:30important. By the way, Stefan Diggs again
- 1:11:32this week having a big week, 69 yards.
- 1:11:35He's doing what he's supposed to do.
- 1:11:37No touchdowns, 7 targets. Drake May is throwing him to a
- 1:11:40more. So not surprised as far as the
- 1:11:42Chiefs are concerned. Guys, stop the Chiefs.
- 1:11:45Yes, Rice is back. Patrick Mahomes, good for that.
- 1:11:48Patrick Mahomes is not the MVP right now.
- 1:11:51It's he's not. I would go Dak Prescott.
- 1:11:53Who's your MVP right now? Right now, Dak Prescott, Dak
- 1:11:57Prescott's having a sensational year right now.
- 1:11:59If you look at Dak Prescott's numbers right now with a bad,
- 1:12:02this is a bad defense and a bad Cowboys team.
- 1:12:06He's scoring 30 and their defense is giving up 30.
- 1:12:10I'm sorry, let me give you the odds where everyone is,
- 1:12:13including your beloved Dak Prescott.
- 1:12:15I was wrong. It's plus 150 for Mahomes.
- 1:12:17Mayfield is at plus 320. Josh Allen plus 400, Drake May
- 1:12:224th at plus 950 Stafford at +1000 Goff at +2000.
- 1:12:30Daniel Jones at 2200, Jordan Love for some reason at 2800,
- 1:12:36and then Dak. I'm going to tell you, I'm going
- 1:12:39to tell you why, because Dak right now is in a division that
- 1:12:42is run by the Eagles. If Dak gets if he gets his team
- 1:12:45in the playoffs, you're going to see him being considered up
- 1:12:49there with all the all the other quarterbacks right now.
- 1:12:51It's still very early. I don't care what the numbers
- 1:12:54are telling you right now with Vegas, that's going to change
- 1:12:57week by week. And Dak Prescott's proven
- 1:13:00himself to be in the elite. The top five quarterbacks in
- 1:13:03the. League.
- 1:13:04That's good money if you want, if you really believe in it,
- 1:13:06Errol, that's 30 to 1 on your. Money I don't bet on, I don't
- 1:13:09bet on sports, but I, I if you're a betting man, I would
- 1:13:12bet some shekels on it. What would be funny is if you
- 1:13:15could convince the beef to somehow bet on it because he
- 1:13:17always wins. I mean, right now, Dak Yard.
- 1:13:20Dak Prescott's thrown more yards than any quarterback in the
- 1:13:23league. He's thrown how many
- 1:13:25interceptions this year? Not many so I and I mean this
- 1:13:29offensive line, is it good? It's OK.
- 1:13:32Their defense is amongst the league's worst and he's putting
- 1:13:36up the numbers that he's putting up.
- 1:13:37It's pretty impressive and by the way, CD Lamb has been out
- 1:13:40three weeks and he's still putting up the numbers he's
- 1:13:43putting up. It's impressive and Daniel Jones
- 1:13:45too. I, I will put both of them.
- 1:13:47Patrick Mahomes is a popular player.
- 1:13:49Allen is a popular player. Of course they're going to put
- 1:13:52Baker Mayfield is a popular player.
- 1:13:54That's the only reason why they're up on the board right
- 1:13:56now. That's going to change by the
- 1:13:57the end of the season if Dak can get this team in the playoffs.
- 1:14:00The theme is really quarterbacks that have elevated them without
- 1:14:02their top guys there. Dak has definitely done that
- 1:14:04with CD Lamb and elevating a new guy who was a head case and
- 1:14:07George Pickens to having some great ride receiving numbers
- 1:14:09this year. Jake Ferguson's been a top three
- 1:14:11tight end so far this year because of the way Dak
- 1:14:13Prescott's played, and you can say the same thing with Baker
- 1:14:15with all the injuries that the Bucks have had too.
- 1:14:17So they would definitely be my top 2.
- 1:14:18Mahomes definitely done a really good job.
- 1:14:20The Chiefs also have a really good offensive line and still
- 1:14:22have a defense that probably besides the fourth quarter
- 1:14:25against the Jaguars and the first half against the Chargers
- 1:14:26has played really well well and then they played really well in
- 1:14:29this game. The Patriots oven shine some
- 1:14:30light on somebody else too. That's played really well, only
- 1:14:33allowing one sack since Week 1 and that's will Campbell, their
- 1:14:354th overall pick has played very well in pass protection so far,
- 1:14:38getting a lot better and run protection as well and that
- 1:14:40defense is fine in their group. So under Brabel and you're muted
- 1:14:48job. I said you guys kind of touched
- 1:14:51on this all, so let's get this Vayner going.
- 1:14:55All right, let's move on to the Eagles, Harold's second favorite
- 1:15:00team that's wearing a Saquon Barkley jersey of 2822 over the
- 1:15:06Vikings break game by Jalen Hurts.
- 1:15:09They try to take away the run. Saquon did nothing, 18 for 44.
- 1:15:13He's having a real tough season because they're just trying to
- 1:15:15take him away completely now because of what he did last
- 1:15:18year. Jalen Hurts though came through
- 1:15:2019 of 23326, 3 touchdowns, 2 to A.J.
- 1:15:25Brown who had four catches IN120121 yards.
- 1:15:29Devontha Smith 9 catches, 183 yards and a touchdown including
- 1:15:34a 79 yard touchdown. Pretty big day for the twosome
- 1:15:37over there. Carson Wentz loves throwing
- 1:15:40picks. You knew he wasn't going to beat
- 1:15:42the Eagles. Jordan Mason had a touchdown on
- 1:15:44the ground. Jordan Addison had a good game
- 1:15:46in the air. 9 catches on 28 yards in that one.
- 1:15:49Wentz of course lost, didn't lose a fumble but tried to.
- 1:15:53That's that's kind of how that those games go.
- 1:15:54And then Jaden Daniels got hurt in this Cowboys commanders game.
- 1:16:00They said that he avoided major injury so he is going to be week
- 1:16:03to week with a slight hamstring pull but didn't help soon as he
- 1:16:07went down. Marcus Mariota fires up a pick
- 1:16:10six game. Was out of reach immediately, 44
- 1:16:13and 22. I'm up again.
- 1:16:14Here we go. I got White as much.
- 1:16:17He's available. Murphy, Reeves, Fox, Butler,
- 1:16:22Daniels, Turner, DeRozan, Garland.
- 1:16:26Who do you go? Where do we go?
- 1:16:27I. Would probably go Fox.
- 1:16:28Well-rounded point guard. He's injured, right?
- 1:16:31Now. Oh, he is.
- 1:16:31Oh, I didn't know that. OK, nevermind Garland then.
- 1:16:34But like how injured is Fox? What do you mean is injured?
- 1:16:37Let. Me.
- 1:16:38See, he's just coming back from the thing last.
- 1:16:41Hamstring participated in a shoot around, so let's go with
- 1:16:44the Olympics. I'm going to go with the.
- 1:16:46You realize how stacked they're going to be, how stupid that
- 1:16:48team's going to be. I'm going to go with D Aaron
- 1:16:51Fox. That was part of Errol's bet
- 1:16:53with the guy he made at Applebee's that the Spurs are
- 1:16:55going to be a top five. Listen, Nuggets aren't going to
- 1:16:58be I'm. Putting his team together, man,
- 1:16:59I like my team this year. I'm going to tell Justin you're
- 1:17:03not going to cheat this year, you little bitch.
- 1:17:05Sorry. All right, Errol, you got these
- 1:17:07two games to talk about. I'm sorry.
- 1:17:09I'm sorry I'm hurting your feelings, guys, Let's, let's
- 1:17:13let's be honest here, all right? The Vikings, I'm trying to pull
- 1:17:18up this game right here. I'm trying to pull up the
- 1:17:20numbers. What's going on over here?
- 1:17:23All right, there it is. Here.
- 1:17:25It's pretty simple. The Eagles are right now getting
- 1:17:29their feet under them. You see the offense, You see
- 1:17:31what they're capable of doing. Saquon has not even taken off
- 1:17:34yet. Devante Smith and Brown are
- 1:17:38taking off 300 yards from those two guys.
- 1:17:42If they do that and this defense could just hold it together and
- 1:17:47keep teams under 20, this team's going to be hard to beat.
- 1:17:50Who's going to beat this team? This is the best team in
- 1:17:53football. You can argue all you want.
- 1:17:55This is as good A-Team as any team in football when healthy,
- 1:18:00their their safeties and their corners need to stay healthy.
- 1:18:03But I think the get goals are absolutely as good as anybody in
- 1:18:06the NFC. They're the best team all around
- 1:18:08in all of the NFL. Cowboys, commanders.
- 1:18:11The question is dating Daniels, how hurt is he?
- 1:18:14How long is he going to be out? This is his second injury in
- 1:18:17five weeks. That scares me.
- 1:18:19Sophomore year, took his team to the NFC title title game last
- 1:18:23year against the Eagles, Lost in a big game against the Eagles,
- 1:18:26but everybody thought this was going to be a big year for him.
- 1:18:29The Cowboys are for real. This offense is for real.
- 1:18:32They're going to put up the numbers.
- 1:18:33This was a a statement game for the Dallas Cowboys.
- 1:18:36It tells you that the Cowboys are not going away.
- 1:18:38They're going to compete all the way to the end.
- 1:18:41That tells me a lot about Dak Prescott.
- 1:18:43It tells me a lot about this team.
- 1:18:45And now it's CD Lamb and George Pickets.
- 1:18:48Watch out, buddy, buddy buddies. This team could be as explosive
- 1:18:53as any team in football. Sell it, beat it, put it up.
- 1:18:58I think that these both these teams, the Cowboys and the
- 1:19:00Eagles, make the playoffs. Since Dan Quinn has gone to
- 1:19:02Dallas, we've seen Brian Schottenheimer head to head,
- 1:19:05kind of head the upper edge. Washington won the first game
- 1:19:07last year, but Dallas was still able to move the ball
- 1:19:08offensively. They beat the Cowboy, they beat
- 1:19:11the Commanders on that crazy ending of that game the second
- 1:19:14time they played. And then this one was just
- 1:19:16absolute domination. You can see the difference when
- 1:19:18you have a better second receiver on the other side of CD
- 1:19:21Lamb, how much of a difference it can make when Pickens really
- 1:19:23his head is on straight and Dallas's offensive line, you
- 1:19:26mentioned it's not it's not amazing, but it's definitely
- 1:19:28played above average for for for offensive line standards this
- 1:19:31year. And this was probably a good
- 1:19:32statement for the Dallas defense they need and this is probably
- 1:19:34get some confidence in a younger team.
- 1:19:35I was mentioning it's probably going to be one of the worst in
- 1:19:37the league at the beginning of the year.
- 1:19:38But they're a young team. They're going to get better over
- 1:19:40time. So and if he's going to be
- 1:19:41tough, it'll be tough for them to make the playoffs, but
- 1:19:43they're going to be right there. I agree with you.
- 1:19:45The Eagles, if they can get, they got what they need with the
- 1:19:47outside pass attack going. I mentioned with the Rams, once
- 1:19:49their offense starts to wake up, they're going to be one of the
- 1:19:51most well-rounded teams so of the Eagles.
- 1:19:52And this was a big flaw for them all year, especially with A.J.
- 1:19:55Brown, and he's gotten it going now.
- 1:19:56Einhorn is a man. Great movie.
- 1:20:03No, I think I think the Cowboys is I mean, their offense is
- 1:20:06great deck, obviously, you know, playing like an MVP.
- 1:20:09I'm just their defense scares me a little bit to be able to see
- 1:20:12if they can, you know, stop you from scoring.
- 1:20:14I think they did do a better job like Speedy said, but that
- 1:20:17that'll be the the tell tale for them if they can.
- 1:20:19Obviously they're not going to have a problem putting points on
- 1:20:22the board, but it's it's going to be a problem if they can not
- 1:20:25stop the other team putting points on the board too.
- 1:20:28The Eagles. It's just that they were they
- 1:20:30were bound to have some bumps in the road and, you know, getting
- 1:20:32older, doing whatever. But the same time it's they know
- 1:20:35how to win. They're going to be able to put
- 1:20:37it together. And you know, the Vikings, you
- 1:20:39know, getting Addison in those guys, but you know, just a
- 1:20:43little short on on the Eagles this week.
- 1:20:47All right, last set of games, guys, Packers 27, Cardinals 23
- 1:20:51and the 49ers 20. Finkle is on horn.
- 1:20:57First thing again, another Jacoby percent game where the
- 1:20:59Cardinals look confident as opposed to when Kyler Murray is
- 1:21:02their starting quarterback. Percent 25 for 36279.
- 1:21:06Two touchdowns. Again, they've lost their
- 1:21:08running backs. Not much going on the ground.
- 1:21:10Bam night, 57 yards. Trey McBride had two touchdowns
- 1:21:14on 10 catches and 74 yards in that one for the Cardinals in
- 1:21:17the losing effort. Jordan Love, not a big great
- 1:21:20game for him. 19 of 29179 and a touchdown, 22 yards on the
- 1:21:25ground. Josh Jacobs, another two rushing
- 1:21:27touchdowns. Tucker craft one through the
- 1:21:29air. It was enough for the Packers to
- 1:21:32win. Kind of an ugly game.
- 1:21:34And then Errol, despite your best wishes, the 49ers will not
- 1:21:39go away. They are five and two with the
- 1:21:42back attack at quarterback. But it was not Mac Jones.
- 1:21:46He didn't have a particularly great game.
- 1:21:47It was a vintage effort from Christian McCaffrey. 201 total
- 1:21:53yards, 129 on the ground, 2 touchdowns, 7 catches, 72 yards.
- 1:21:59I remember Errol in our fantasy draft getting a lot of crap when
- 1:22:03I took Christian McCaffrey at #5 and guess what?
- 1:22:08He is currently the number one running back in fantasy.
- 1:22:12Football, that's all right. I'm number one in our league, so
- 1:22:14it doesn't matter. I'm right there.
- 1:22:18I'm just watch your back. I'm coming for you.
- 1:22:23I think you lost this week, by the way, so.
- 1:22:25No, I killed whoever I had. I think I lost this week.
- 1:22:29I played the bear, I have McCaffrey.
- 1:22:31I wasn't losing this week. Shut your mouth, all right?
- 1:22:36It's pretty simple. I, I, there's a lot to a lot to
- 1:22:40swim on this the Packers. I don't know what Packers are
- 1:22:45going to show off. I don't know what team is going
- 1:22:46to show up week by week. That's what scares me.
- 1:22:49This defense could be for real. They're up and down and Jordan
- 1:22:52Love, who I thought was going to have such a such a great year.
- 1:22:55He's been up and down ever since Reed went down in week one.
- 1:22:59They just, Jayden Reed has been a has really been an important
- 1:23:03piece to this offense. And since he's gone down, this
- 1:23:05offense has not been as good as I thought it was going to be.
- 1:23:08So I, I, I want to see more from this defense.
- 1:23:11As far as the 49ers are concerned, they play the
- 1:23:14Falcons. I was a pretty, pretty nice win
- 1:23:17by the 49ers. That was probably their biggest
- 1:23:19win over the last couple weeks and one of the harder teams
- 1:23:22they've played this week. Christian McCaffrey is a beast.
- 1:23:24I don't think I could argue that from anybody.
- 1:23:27I, I, he's special. And you know, he likes to show
- 1:23:31off his son in a lot of the videos in the TikTok.
- 1:23:34So he looks like he's a happy dad.
- 1:23:36Congratulations to the 49ers, even though Kyle Shanahan's
- 1:23:39going to screw this one up like he always does.
- 1:23:42We can't, we can't discount this game without giving credit to
- 1:23:44New York Jets legend Bambi Sala and the defensive game plan he
- 1:23:48had in this game. No, Fred Warner, they lost Nick
- 1:23:51Bose obviously earlier this year, and a couple other pass
- 1:23:53rushers rotated in. Mike L Williams played really
- 1:23:55well as a rookie pass rusher. What do you got?
- 1:23:58All right, guys, here we go. We got the Portland Trail
- 1:24:02Blazers, Avija, that kid Daniels, DeRozan.
- 1:24:08Garland. Garland, White Pool, Nembhard,
- 1:24:15Harnstein, Obi and an Obi OG. So I I hate this guy, but
- 1:24:22without Halliburton I think Nembhard is going to be a really
- 1:24:25big year. So do I don't know if he's the
- 1:24:27right guy to go there. How?
- 1:24:28About Garland? How about Garland?
- 1:24:29I like Garland, I like Garland or Hardenstein is my other
- 1:24:32option. Hardstein, you know he's going
- 1:24:34to give you everything and you need rebounding and stuff like
- 1:24:37that. You need bigs because bigs are.
- 1:24:38There's just a lot of, there's just a lot of situations.
- 1:24:41Only plays 20 minutes a game. I don't know if I would go with
- 1:24:44him at this point with those guys.
- 1:24:45So who do I go with? I would go with Garland
- 1:24:48otherwise. I don't know about.
- 1:24:51That I went with Garland. All right, better hope for the
- 1:24:55best with that guy. Finishing up what I was saying
- 1:24:57with the Niners defense, a lot of young guys in the secondary
- 1:24:59too. I think really proving a lot
- 1:25:01against Drake London and be Sean Robinson holding their own.
- 1:25:03Both of them did not have great games in this one. 49ers just
- 1:25:06good counter game plans and Packers I agree with that kind
- 1:25:08of ugly win. Arizona just kind of fell apart
- 1:25:10at the end of the game. They were out coaching and out
- 1:25:12out playing Green Bay, most of that.
- 1:25:14Yeah, well, all they said, sorry, George Springer just hit
- 1:25:16a three run Homer to go up 4:00 to 3:00.
- 1:25:18So I kind of blacked out. Yeah, the tables have turned.
- 1:25:25Just sucks that it sucks that Owen is going to just have keep
- 1:25:29on going with this Kyle Shanahan, Mac Jones, Mac Attack
- 1:25:33Parade and that has been our Week 7 coverage of the NFL here
- 1:25:38on the Whip Around. I love Owen and I talked to Owen
- 1:25:41off air and I'm definitely going to get him back on because I
- 1:25:45miss the crazy SOP. I really do.
- 1:25:48I miss him. He he is got some freaking
- 1:25:51personality, man. You can't you can't hate on
- 1:25:54Owen. You really can.
- 1:25:56Anyways, that's it for our show. It was a great one.
- 1:25:58I'd like to thank a we like to think the one and only Rob
- 1:26:02Nikovic. He was fantastic.
- 1:26:04It's first time on the show and I definitely we definitely would
- 1:26:09love to get him back on the show.
- 1:26:11Shout out to Nathan for getting Rob Ninkovich on the show and
- 1:26:15Jed Hater. But I I'm starting to live.

- 1:27:19over the summer. He noticed me, I noticed him, we
- 1:27:23spoke. He's a lot taller than I
- 1:27:25expected guys like 6 foot 4, but very, very nice kid.
- 1:27:30He's doing good things. He's doing big things with the
- 1:27:32Yankees. At one point a lot of people
- 1:27:35thought was going to be the voice of the New York Yankees,
- 1:27:37but he's growing into it. And I'm I'm looking forward to
- 1:27:41seeing and and him moving up in his success of his career.
- 1:27:45So I'm interested to hear what he's got to say about the
- 1:27:47Yankees. He's he's he wants the chance
