- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Wednesday, July, twenty-third.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's training camp practice number one in the books.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was a very short practice.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: They got to it.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: They got in.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: They got out.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: They got their work done.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Earlier, we did a full training camp practice recap.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: You can go check that out if you want to hear about all the Manusha, all the different things that I saw today.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: But right now, I'm more concise video just talking about the standout performers for those of y'all who just want to hear who went out there and balled out.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we're going to talk about right now.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: So really appreciate y'all being here.

- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: if you want to pick up some new dovall gear.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: So stand out performers.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Heinz Allen was a big stand out in my opinion.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: He routinely is a stand out in practice.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not a big surprise in any way that he stood out.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: But he was very, very good, very disruptive.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: And there were not a lot of team drills.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Not a lot of eleven on eleven.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: So for him to stand out in the few plays that he actually had an opportunity to stand out, very good in my opinion.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Josh Heinz Allen
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's down from like two eighty five to two sixty five something like that.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: He dropped a lot of weight this year.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: He put on way too much weight last year as many of the Jaguar's defenders did.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: You see Josh Heinz Allen.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: You see Devin Lloyd.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of these guys looking more slim and trim and ready to run.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: And so very very good first day for Josh Heinz Allen, which again comes with no surprise.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell had a strong day.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: Was not targeted a ton.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: If at all.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: which is not a big surprise.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: When Tyson Campbell steps on the field in training camp practice, he's about to shut down as they come.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: And now he and Brian Thomas Jr.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: they are going to have some big time matchups throughout practice during training camp and during the year.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like that is an unbelievable matchup.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: you would expect would get the better of that matchup more often than not.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: But Tyson Campbell
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's got all the tools.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's got all the physical ability.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: He just needs to stay healthy.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: If he can do that, he's going to be a very good player for the Jack Wars in twenty twenty five and beyond.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: Don't forget, he is under contract now.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: New deal signed last year.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, I thought was really, I mean, awesome.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing short of awesome.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Energy.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: He brings that in spades, both to the fans and to the players around him.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: I talked about it earlier.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: He was constantly tapping up teammates and encouraging his teammates getting people fired up.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: And beyond that, he was making plays like on every single route that he ran, whether it be an individual, seven on seven, eleven on eleven.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: He was where he was supposed to be when he was supposed to be there and he caught everything thrown his way.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: He did not let a pass hit the ground today that was targeted for him.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought Travis Hunter had a really, really strong day.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what you want to see from him in practice.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: He played offense, almost exclusively offense.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now there was a period of special teams where you had Travis Hunter working off to the side with some defensive coaches, kind of had a whole area of the field to himself with those coaches.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: And they were working on just some different technique things and going through some different things.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be giving him and maximizing his
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: ability to learn and grow within the system on both sides of the ball every single day.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: So even when he's not practicing on offense and defense in a given day, he's still going to get in physical work on both sides and he's still going to get in mental work on both sides.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be at least one or two meetings every day on the opposite side of the ball.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: So if like today was a primary offense day, he still had walk through on defense and he still had defensive meetings that he attended.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to be a lot.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a heavy workload for
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: for Travis Hunter, but I think he is well equipped to be able to handle it.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't wait to continue to watch him throughout training camp.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: He is the star of the show.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: But unbelievably fast, basal Tutan.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody asked me, you know, I tweeted out earlier, this just in, basal Tutan very fast.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: So somebody asked, is he fast in a straight line?
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Or is he fast elusive?
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: And the answer is yes, right?
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: He is very, very fast and straight line, obviously evidence by his fourth speed, but he has also been the quick elusive gets in and out of his breaks very quickly with the ball in his hands as a runner.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: The big question for him.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: is can he hold onto the football nine fumbles in the last two years combined at Virginia Tech.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's got to hold onto the football.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: If he can, he is going to be a problem in this offense for opposing defenses because he's simply too talented of a runner and too skilled of an athlete to be denied.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's all about holding onto the football, proving that he can get the job done in past protection, and as a receiver out of the back field.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: If he can do those things, skies the limit.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Even if he isn't great in past protection, isn't a great receiver, he's still going to get the ball in space.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: For these jaggers, and I think that there's some real talent there, as just a traditional running back as well.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't just have to be a space player, so keep an eye on basial tune, the fourth round pick.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the juice.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about it.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: A foyer, Luke, and played really well today, especially in the run game.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: He was flying downhill, and you're no pads till next week, right?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: But he was flying downhill.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: He was getting to ball carriers at the line of scrimmage, or very close to it, and making his presence felt even though he's not really full on hitting.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: You knew when he was there, foyer, Luke, and playing really good ball.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: And again, just
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: smart, fast, communicative leader.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's somebody who just does not get talked about enough nationally or locally in my opinion.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I love for a look in what he brings to the Jacksonville Jack Wars.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: Even white, you got to give him some credit.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: The rookie out of NC State who, you know, spent plenty of time at NC State.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry to his collegiate career in twenty twenty.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: Started really getting a lot of reps.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: and twenty twenty I mean he had over two hundred reps and twenty twenty twenty twenty twenty two twenty twenty one and then after that he had starter reps from there on out but very productive over the last three years at NC State I mean he looked his entire career nine years up to the last three seasons he had seven interceptions and twenty past breakups did not allow a lot of touchdowns did not allow a high completion percentage
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: in coverage, six foot, about a hundred eighty nine pounds.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: He went out in interception today and he's not somebody who has an undraft of pre-agent has gotten a lot of publicity a lot of talk, but he had himself a nice day.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: He picked off Nick Mullins, not a very smart throw probably.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully not a throw that he would throw in the game if he had to get out there and hoping that you don't ever have to see Nick Mullins in the game, no offense to him, but your brand travel Lawrence for a reason, right?
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: Good play though by Aiden White.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: He had an opportunity to go make a play on a football and he did, and his first training camp practice.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: That leaves an impression.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: If he can continue to stack days like that, that's going to be really big for him.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then finally Josh Cephas, he did have a drop.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't an easy catch, right?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: It was sliding to the ground, coming back to the football type of situation, but he was upset.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't catch.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: He would like to haul that one in.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think the coaches would like him to haul that one in.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: It was definitely a drop, rebounded in a big way, had a really impressive contested catch with Christian Brasswell in coverage and then another
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the catch of the, maybe the play of the day, really, deep down the field, having to extend for the football dive for it, go to the ground, full speed, comes down with it, big, big play for the offense.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's, I mean, that's the type of stuff you want to see from somebody trying to fight for the football team, fight to make the team as a back-end receiver.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then, one player who, you know,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: Just want to bring it up.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the end of the world.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a big deal.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: Brand Thomas Jr., two dropped passes.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: Just tighten it up, clean it up, and I know he will.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: I am there to observe and report.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this was a practice that he would have liked to have had back when it comes to the focus at the catch point.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: And if those things happen in a game, you'd be pretty darn frustrated about it.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: But it was just day one of training camp practice and I am very confident that BTJ will come back and make a lot of plays the rest of the week and moving forward.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: That'll do it here.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: We back tomorrow morning.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
