- 2:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So we have a few people who have called we do.
- 2:12Speaker 1: We weren't able to get to them last week because
- 2:14Speaker 1: I just couldn't be ours turdy. I was like, I
- 2:18Speaker 1: gotta go, yeah, gotta go to b D Mommy got
- 2:21Speaker 1: to go to BID. But so we have a few calls.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Who's the first on the raster?
- 2:25Speaker 3: The first one is Gabby.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Gabby, Yeah, Gabby.
- 2:29Speaker 3: That's my ex's name, Gabby.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You think it's that Gabby?
- 2:33Speaker 4: No, okay, hey girls, it is Gabby from my dumbsty
- 2:37Speaker 4: here in Australia. I've recorded this so many times and
- 2:40Speaker 4: messed it up every time, so I'm going to cut
- 2:42Speaker 4: straight to the chase here. I'm watching your most recent
- 2:45Speaker 4: speak pipe episode, and I've just noticed this ongoing conversation
- 2:50Speaker 4: not just from you, but a lot of people about
- 2:52Speaker 4: whether is Robin smart enough to you know, plan out
- 2:55Speaker 4: to take over the whole family or manipulate you know,
- 3:01Speaker 4: And she's I don't think she is, because I think
- 3:03Speaker 4: not only me, but all of us can see straight
- 3:06Speaker 4: through would straight through it and her intention. But because
- 3:10Speaker 4: she's so blatant about it, with just it's almost like
- 3:12Speaker 4: she's gaslighting us, Like how can she be so blatant
- 3:14Speaker 4: about it? But the thing about Robin and Cody, they
- 3:18Speaker 4: both do it, and Knight's in general, is that it's
- 3:21Speaker 4: like a survival instinct or a coping mechanism for them,
- 3:25Speaker 4: and they get so used to doing it consistently, and
- 3:28Speaker 4: that's why you notice how much they're just like so
- 3:33Speaker 4: apparently like they just contradict themselves constantly, and they're recorded
- 3:38Speaker 4: as well, and how they'll still deny it. You don't
- 3:43Speaker 4: have to be emotionally intelligent or smart to have this
- 3:47Speaker 4: plan or manipulate. You just have to be like emotionally
- 3:51Speaker 4: intelligent and smart to be good at it. Well that's
- 3:54Speaker 4: my opinion, So I'd love to see what you girls think.
- 3:57Speaker 1: That's a really good distinction that you have to be
- 4:01Speaker 1: emotionally and intelligent and intelligent intelligent to be good at it,
- 4:06Speaker 1: because they are so bad at it. Yeah, and so
- 4:08Speaker 1: many of us, including us, Yeah, we're just like, why
- 4:12Speaker 1: are you even try trying to pull the wool over
- 4:14Speaker 1: our eyes? Like it's so obvious and obviously it's been recorded,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and we've watched every single season and we've got our
- 4:20Speaker 1: monocles out, like, right, hello.
- 4:22Speaker 2: How dumb.
- 4:23Speaker 1: But they're dumb.
- 4:24Speaker 3: They are so dumb. Well, and I had a therapist
- 4:26Speaker 3: once say that, like most people manipulate to like some degree,
- 4:31Speaker 3: but it's when it crosses the barrier into like malignant
- 4:35Speaker 3: manipulation where you're trying to get people to do your
- 4:38Speaker 3: bidding and like you're lying to people in gaslighting, then
- 4:40Speaker 3: it becomes like a personality disorder. It becomes like an
- 4:43Speaker 3: actual issue that you need to like fix in therapy
- 4:47Speaker 3: or just I don't know, do a heroic dose of
- 4:50Speaker 3: shrooms and kill your ego or something. But yeah, I
- 4:54Speaker 3: mean I think that's definitely a good distinction. I don't
- 4:57Speaker 3: think that Robin and Cody are smart, because obviously they're recorded,
- 5:00Speaker 3: so like, if you're smart, you would know to keep
- 5:04Speaker 3: your lies straight and to actually be good at gaslighting
- 5:10Speaker 3: people even on TV. But they can't even do that,
- 5:12Speaker 3: So they're stupid.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Right, or like a reference certain things, yeah, and provide
- 5:18Speaker 1: false context like just at least to be believable, but
- 5:21Speaker 1: they don't even have the intelligence or the intellectual power
- 5:25Speaker 1: to do that. And I just wonder if sometimes they're
- 5:28Speaker 1: just joking about it, like, yeah, what are you gonna do?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Of course we're already recorded. Of course we're lying about it.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Straight to your face. What are you going to do?
- 5:35Speaker 1: They're still paying us, though sometimes it feels very.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Brazen and audacious like that.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But I think I err on the side of them
- 5:43Speaker 1: just not being able to keep up with their lies
- 5:45Speaker 1: because there are so many of them, Yeah, and also
- 5:47Speaker 1: just being woefully unintelligent, totally super dumb.
- 5:51Speaker 3: And I would also agree that I think it's like
- 5:53Speaker 3: a coping mechanism because of their fragile egos, like they
- 5:55Speaker 3: can't ever be wrong and they can't be called out
- 5:58Speaker 3: for the evil monster demons they are, so they have
- 6:01Speaker 3: to cope and just continue lying because that, for some
- 6:03Speaker 3: reason makes them feel better. Because there are people that
- 6:06Speaker 3: are pathological liars and they are like that for certain reasons.
- 6:09Speaker 3: So I could see that too. I don't know if
- 6:11Speaker 3: it's like a survival mechanism per se, because I hate
- 6:16Speaker 3: them so much, Like so I'm like, why would you
- 6:17Speaker 3: need to lie out of a survival.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Well, because maybe they have a sense that this gravy
- 6:23Speaker 1: train is going to be coming to an end. And
- 6:26Speaker 1: they did seem in season nineteen to be a little
- 6:28Speaker 1: bit more invested in trying to create content, create moments,
- 6:31Speaker 1: whether that was Aurora's baptism or the church or like
- 6:34Speaker 1: standing out in the driveway in the snow in their
- 6:36Speaker 1: spot in order to have an argument. Like they seem
- 6:39Speaker 1: to be mindful of the fact that they need to
- 6:41Speaker 1: be giving us something and so maybe they're trying to
- 6:44Speaker 1: tap dance for their dinner maybe, but that's embarrassing. It
- 6:47Speaker 1: is embarrassing. They're embarrassing. Yeah, they're more unsing.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Well, thank you, Gabby. Hi from Australia.
- 6:53Speaker 1: International reck we need to have like some sort of
- 6:56Speaker 1: a sound effect for international raccoons.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yeah, all right. Next one we have us from Denise Sidney's.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Hi, Miss d Hi, Miss b. First of all, I
- 7:06Speaker 5: just want to say, love, love, love this little community
- 7:10Speaker 5: you've made of raccoons of every race, creed, color, gender
- 7:16Speaker 5: and sexual orientation. You're just so lovely and welcoming. This
- 7:20Speaker 5: is a little black raccoon. My name is Denise, I'm
- 7:23Speaker 5: from Sunny Garden Grove, California. And of course, what do
- 7:26Speaker 5: I want to talk about Robin? Have you all ever
- 7:29Speaker 5: noticed that Robin. I've never seen Robin comfort the og three,
- 7:35Speaker 5: not once, plenty of times. Of course, you know, Mary
- 7:38Speaker 5: is Robin's personal footstool and doormats, so that goes without saying.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I've seen Christine many times try to, you know, make
- 7:47Speaker 5: amends with Robin, apologize to Robin, try to make Robin
- 7:51Speaker 5: feel comfortable. Janelle, for goodness sakes, has even comforted Robin.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Remember that scene around the restaurant season seven or eighteen,
- 8:01Speaker 5: and Janelle's talking about how the family has changed. Of course,
- 8:04Speaker 5: Robin makes it about her Janelle gets up from her
- 8:06Speaker 5: chair and hugs Robin and comforts Robin. I have never
- 8:12Speaker 5: seen Robin reciprocate that to anyone, So anyway, I just
- 8:17Speaker 5: find that she's just a terrible human being. I'd really
- 8:20Speaker 5: like to know your thoughts on that. Never seen it
- 8:23Speaker 5: if anyone has seen it, Miss D Miss B, please
- 8:27Speaker 5: you know, let us know. But once again, have a
- 8:29Speaker 5: beautiful day, Love you both, bye bye.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Well can you see well, Miss B? Can you recall
- 8:35Speaker 1: even one incident where Robin went out of her way
- 8:40Speaker 1: to authentically or even inauthentically comfort one of her sister wives.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I mean I've seen her do it a couple times
- 8:48Speaker 3: with Mary, like when Mary was crying over not getting
- 8:53Speaker 3: into her house for Christmas and she was disappointing Leon,
- 8:57Speaker 3: like Robin hugged her on camera. But I think Robin
- 9:01Speaker 3: only ever comforts the women only on camera. I don't
- 9:05Speaker 3: think she would do it off camera or like try
- 9:08Speaker 3: to be a friend to any of them, because I
- 9:10Speaker 3: don't think she gives a crap about any of them,
- 9:12Speaker 3: even Mary. It's just a manipulative tactic. So I don't
- 9:16Speaker 3: think she's ever authentically comforted anybody. I think she wants
- 9:19Speaker 3: all of the comfort for herself. That's why she cries
- 9:21Speaker 3: all the time, and she wants everybody to sympathize with her.
- 9:25Speaker 3: But I don't think she cares about sympathizing with anybody else.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that. And just because we're in
- 9:32Speaker 1: season six right now, with our recaps, I can recall
- 9:37Speaker 1: how Robin tried to set up with Christine getting her
- 9:42Speaker 1: keys for her home, Like, yeah, Robin.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Tried to set it up.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Well, I guess we don't have to leave for Wyoming
- 9:48Speaker 1: right now. I guess we can wait and tell Christine
- 9:50Speaker 1: and Cody get to walk through the house and have
- 9:53Speaker 1: their moment, which she inevitably crashed herself. Like, yeah, I
- 9:57Speaker 1: can see Robin attempting to perform form sympathy sometimes on
- 10:02Speaker 1: the couch, like she'll commiserate with some of the women
- 10:05Speaker 1: or with Cody, but like, I've never seen her actually
- 10:09Speaker 1: do it in a way that was not self serving
- 10:11Speaker 1: something for herself exactly.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I think that's all it ever is for her. Honestly,
- 10:15Speaker 3: I don't think she actually cares. But let us know
- 10:17Speaker 3: in the comments below if there's other episodes or scenes
- 10:20Speaker 3: where you think that Robin's actually comforting these women because
- 10:23Speaker 3: we'd love to see it if it exists. So thanks Denise,
- 10:27Speaker 3: Thanks Denise. Next one we have is from Angel.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Angel, Russia's Angel Angel.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Hello, ladies, this is Angel Raccoon from the Las Vegas Dumpster.
- 10:40Speaker 6: So just a few things. Number one was about Mary
- 10:43Speaker 6: and all this baby drama that dragged out forever, it seems,
- 10:48Speaker 6: back in the beginning, when her and Cody went on
- 10:50Speaker 6: their twentieth anniversary vacation. He asked her, then, do you
- 10:55Speaker 6: want to do in vitro Let's drop the money, let's
- 10:57Speaker 6: get this done, and she was like, absolutely not. I
- 11:01Speaker 6: don't want another baby, you know whatever. She was giving
- 11:03Speaker 6: him such pushback, so I think, all this, I don't know,
- 11:07Speaker 6: I don't know, I don't know. It's just so hard.
- 11:09Speaker 6: All this stuff. It was just to keep getting attention
- 11:12Speaker 6: from Cody because at that point Robin was in the
- 11:14Speaker 6: picture and Mary wasn't starting to get you know, left out.
- 11:19Speaker 6: To McKelty and her thinking that she's so smart and
- 11:25Speaker 6: everything for taking high school classes and college classes at
- 11:29Speaker 6: the same time, like that's a big thing here. A
- 11:31Speaker 6: lot of kids do that here in Las Vegas. She's
- 11:34Speaker 6: not a genius. I can't stand McKelty anyway, third thing,
- 11:40Speaker 6: when they were deciding, or when Cody was like, we
- 11:43Speaker 6: need to get out of here, we need to move,
- 11:47Speaker 6: we believed that he was doing that because he needed
- 11:49Speaker 6: to liquidate his with his partner and all their business dealings.
- 11:55Speaker 6: We think he was in trouble and so he needed
- 11:58Speaker 6: to sell the houses fast to get cash. So I
- 12:02Speaker 6: think that's why.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Catch me up.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So she talked about leaving Lee High or she talking
- 12:06Speaker 1: about Okay, yeah, I got it. So they needed to
- 12:09Speaker 1: liquidate quickly to get cash.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Yeah, because him and his business partner at the time,
- 12:14Speaker 3: which I don't know which business partner she's talking about.
- 12:17Speaker 3: If she's talking about like the gun partner, is it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: The guy from Oklahoma that he went and danced at
- 12:21Speaker 1: their COVID wedding. Maybe I think that was a business partner, right, So.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Maybe he needed to get cash, so he needed to
- 12:27Speaker 3: sell all those homes to liquidate.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I don't know either, but I wouldn't put it past him.
- 12:34Speaker 3: We haven't gotten to those episodes yet, so I.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Mean, there's like a lot of different theories as to
- 12:38Speaker 1: why they left Vegas, and I kind of just land
- 12:41Speaker 1: on the side of Dan was going to go to
- 12:45Speaker 1: northern Arizona, and Robin wanted to move her entire family
- 12:49Speaker 1: closer to Dayton, and so that was maybe the impetus.
- 12:53Speaker 1: But also I think that their loans were coming due.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I do think they had creative loans where they're paying
- 12:58Speaker 1: interest only on those culled aside homes and after a
- 13:01Speaker 1: certain amount of time they had to balloon pay the
- 13:04Speaker 1: rest of it. They weren't prepared to do that because
- 13:06Speaker 1: again they are terrible with buddy. Yeah, it's had to
- 13:08Speaker 1: sell their homes and get the f out, But I
- 13:11Speaker 1: am not sure.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Now regarding mackelt, angel I agree.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Like you know, in life, there's some people that have
- 13:23Speaker 1: the mapping and then there's some people that don't. Now,
- 13:26Speaker 1: if you have the mapping, and I'm talking about your
- 13:28Speaker 1: brain specifically, like you got all the ridges and everything, Oh,
- 13:31Speaker 1: if you don't got a brain that's completely wired. Yeah
- 13:33Speaker 1: it's not smooth, it's completely wired. Like you have you
- 13:36Speaker 1: always have the capacity for great intelligence. And if you
- 13:40Speaker 1: get an education and you have like all these varied
- 13:42Speaker 1: life experiences, you end up being so freaking smart.
- 13:46Speaker 2: But then you have people.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Who don't have the mapping, Like they don't have the
- 13:50Speaker 1: capacity they can only ever go so bad. You are
- 13:55Speaker 1: so mean, But they can only ever go so high
- 13:58Speaker 1: in terms of their intellect. It's not like they can't
- 14:00Speaker 1: go to college, of course they can't. It's not like
- 14:02Speaker 1: they can't have buried life experiences.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Of course they do.
- 14:04Speaker 1: They just don't process those things with like that extra brain. Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and so I think with somebody like McKelty, God bless her,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I think she's doing the best with the mapping that.
- 14:17Speaker 3: She has, brain that she has.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But is it the same.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Mapping that say you have?
- 14:22Speaker 1: The answer is no, is it the same mapping that.
- 14:27Speaker 7: I mean?
- 14:27Speaker 1: I think, I just don't think.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I don't think she was born to be like a
- 14:31Speaker 2: rocket scientist, That's all I'm saying. And you don't have
- 14:33Speaker 2: to be a rocket scientist, ye know. Yeah, okay, justice
- 14:35Speaker 2: for like McKelty.
- 14:37Speaker 3: But she wasn't going to school for a rocket science.
- 14:39Speaker 3: She's going to school for fashion. Fashion. You don't need
- 14:43Speaker 3: to be like super smart for that make clothes.
- 14:48Speaker 1: So anyway, no, yet, Like she's not brilliant, but you don't,
- 14:51Speaker 1: like most of us aren't brilliant, you know, most of
- 14:54Speaker 1: us are brilliant, Like a lot of us aren't brilliant
- 14:57Speaker 1: and that's okay. We create space and we can't witness that.
- 14:59Speaker 1: That sure perfectly fine.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Right, What was the first thing Mary with the baby
- 15:07Speaker 3: story and she was just using that for attention from Cody?
- 15:10Speaker 2: Well, what are your thoughts about that?
- 15:11Speaker 3: I mean, I agree, I think that's totally what it was.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I think I said last week, like, I think it
- 15:15Speaker 3: was just all a ploy because this might have been
- 15:20Speaker 3: like symbolic for their intimate life. Like maybe Cody was like, yeah,
- 15:24Speaker 3: so we're just not gonna have another baby, which means also,
- 15:27Speaker 3: I'm never gonna touch you again. I'm never gonna give
- 15:30Speaker 3: you my noodle ever again, because there's no point because
- 15:33Speaker 3: it's never gonna happen. So I could see how maybe
- 15:37Speaker 3: Mary was keeping him on the hook for the attention,
- 15:40Speaker 3: for the physical attention, because that's what she wants, you know,
- 15:43Speaker 3: even though in this week's episode she's talking about how
- 15:45Speaker 3: liberating it is to not have to sleep with Cody
- 15:47Speaker 3: every night.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Mm mmm, she wishes, she does wish.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I definitely think she's dangling carrots, and I think it's
- 15:53Speaker 1: probably the last thing that she can offer that would
- 15:56Speaker 1: interest him other than her money, right, which I think
- 15:59Speaker 1: she is going to an offer when she gets.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Into Lularoe and whatnot. But we're not there yet, and.
- 16:03Speaker 1: So this was like her last thing that she could
- 16:06Speaker 1: maybe have. But you're right, You're one hundred percent right.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Like when it was first brought up, like I think
- 16:11Speaker 1: season one during their anniversary when they went to Mexico
- 16:14Speaker 1: and the restaurant everything, She's like, I don't.
- 16:15Speaker 3: Want to, No, I'm old, I'm too old.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I don't want to, right, But now she wants to
- 16:19Speaker 1: because there's nothing else left in the relationship that right
- 16:23Speaker 1: tie him to her.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Well, and maybe that's because she thinks that she'll get
- 16:27Speaker 3: attention from him because she'll have a baby, but it's
- 16:31Speaker 3: not gonna happen because Cody's already over. Yeah, so thank
- 16:34Speaker 3: you for your message, Angel very much. Next one we
- 16:38Speaker 3: have is from Beatrice's Biggas fan. Really, I think it's
- 16:43Speaker 3: the same chick from last night. Oh it felt bad
- 16:46Speaker 3: because I was crying about it last time. So it's.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:53Speaker 8: Hello ladies, my nay miss ash. I'm calling from a
- 16:57Speaker 8: dumpster down in southern California. Before I dive into my thoughts,
- 17:02Speaker 8: I want to say thank you to you both. You
- 17:03Speaker 8: keep me very entertained on my boring commute, and you
- 17:08Speaker 8: help keep my sanity intact. So thank you for that.
- 17:12Speaker 9: Okay, let's get into it.
- 17:13Speaker 6: So my thoughts around the show.
- 17:17Speaker 8: You know, the Sister Wives, we.
- 17:20Speaker 9: All know that like these couch confessionals and these episodes
- 17:24Speaker 9: can be so drawn out and so boring, yet we
- 17:26Speaker 9: are all still so freakin' hooked. We can't turn it
- 17:31Speaker 9: off even with these boring moments. And I think the
- 17:34Speaker 9: reason for that is that the chaos and family dynamics
- 17:41Speaker 9: and crumbling of dynamics feel sincere as opposed to when
- 17:46Speaker 9: you watch other reality TV shows. You know you can tell,
- 17:50Speaker 9: I mean, they're still fun, but you can tell that
- 17:53Speaker 9: they're staged. You can tell that you know, this TV
- 17:56Speaker 9: show is looking for couples or people that are gonna
- 18:01Speaker 9: intentionally blow up on the screen, or there are people
- 18:03Speaker 9: that want to be influencers. The fights are clearly staged.
- 18:08Speaker 9: You know, you feel it fun still, but you feel
- 18:12Speaker 9: it However, with Sister Wives, like they genuinely started this
- 18:16Speaker 9: show to be like look at us Lati Da and
- 18:19Speaker 9: our amazing family, thinking that they were going to be
- 18:22Speaker 9: preaching their way of life and each other, and then
- 18:26Speaker 9: it just organically exposed itself. They exposed who they were
- 18:32Speaker 9: on television, and watching that, even with boring moments, just
- 18:38Speaker 9: the overall story of them is captivating because you're like,
- 18:42Speaker 9: oh my gosh, these people are really making these terrible decisions.
- 18:47Speaker 9: Cody really is a douchebag, and you know, we're really
- 18:51Speaker 9: happy for Christina Janelle to finally get out and Mary.
- 18:55Speaker 9: I can be happy for Mary, but I don't like her.
- 18:58Speaker 9: But yeah, anyways, that's my thoughts as to why we're
- 19:01Speaker 9: still watching.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Have a good day, Thank you, Ash. I know, well,
- 19:07Speaker 2: what do you think?
- 19:08Speaker 3: I agree one hundred percent. I think that Sister Wives
- 19:11Speaker 3: is a pretty, I don't want to say relatable show,
- 19:14Speaker 3: but it is kind of relatable because these are real
- 19:18Speaker 3: people making really dumb decisions, and at least for me.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Like when I first started watching this show when I
- 19:24Speaker 3: was the ripe old age of twelve with my mom,
- 19:27Speaker 3: like her and I used to gush about our theories
- 19:31Speaker 3: about the show, and like our theories were right, Like
- 19:34Speaker 3: we used to talk so much crap about these wives
- 19:38Speaker 3: and Cody.
- 19:39Speaker 6: On the show.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Like my mom totally called Cody for what he was
- 19:42Speaker 3: at the very very beginning, and I was like no,
- 19:45Speaker 3: like maybe he's a nice guy, like he seems like
- 19:47Speaker 3: he loves his wives, he seems like he's sincere, and
- 19:50Speaker 3: then now here we are in season nineteen and he's
- 19:53Speaker 3: demon possessed and he's awful and so like it's just
- 19:56Speaker 3: interesting to watch it from like the beginning, and people
- 19:59Speaker 3: like started to see like oh wow, like these are
- 20:02Speaker 3: real people. They're making really dumb decisions. Like it is
- 20:06Speaker 3: interesting as opposed to other shows that have become wildly
- 20:10Speaker 3: produced kind of like ninety Day Fiance.
- 20:12Speaker 6: Unfortunately.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I mean it's still fun, like she said, like it's
- 20:16Speaker 3: still fun shows, but it's so produced, like it's it's
- 20:20Speaker 3: probably not real storylines. Everybody's just there to promote their
- 20:23Speaker 3: only fans, Like it's not like it's not real, you know, right, right,
- 20:27Speaker 3: So I agree.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and like you, I think you're seeing that with
- 20:31Speaker 1: a franchise, for example, like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,
- 20:35Speaker 1: which I think sort of started out really really fun
- 20:38Speaker 1: and like we're going to get something new, but then
- 20:39Speaker 1: it just became this overly produced show where everybody's just
- 20:43Speaker 1: trying to hide what's actually really happening in their lives.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And it's like I'm bored.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Why would I be sticking around for this And a
- 20:49Speaker 1: lot of people actually didn't, and so that show is
- 20:52Speaker 1: actually in trouble with Sister Wives. It's absolutely about the subtext. Yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 1: the pill context, it's about the monocle. It's about us
- 21:03Speaker 1: like looking into the deeper layers to try and figure
- 21:06Speaker 1: out what's really going on. And that's what I think
- 21:08Speaker 1: makes it so compelling. It's because it's hard to manage
- 21:11Speaker 1: five adults. Of course, it'd be one thing if it's
- 21:13Speaker 1: just your marriage on a reality show, and like you
- 21:17Speaker 1: guys are trying to hide stuff or just show very
- 21:19Speaker 1: selective parts of your life and your experience. But like
- 21:22Speaker 1: when you've got five adults, four of them are women, like,
- 21:25Speaker 1: and they've got feelings and they have needs, and then
- 21:28Speaker 1: you've got this dumb lummix of a guy like trying
- 21:31Speaker 1: to manage that. Like, it's going to be very difficult
- 21:34Speaker 1: to hide these very important aspects and parts. And so
- 21:37Speaker 1: that is I think what makes it so interesting. Oh totally,
- 21:41Speaker 1: you know, but it's still wide open for critique, Like
- 21:44Speaker 1: I feel like you could be I feel like they're
- 21:46Speaker 1: still over producing a lot of this, like by allowing
- 21:50Speaker 1: the cast members to film themselves on their dumb iPhones or.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Whatever, like what do you what are we doing?
- 21:56Speaker 1: Like you guys have had you have the budget, you
- 21:58Speaker 1: can get a film crew. You can go follow them around.
- 22:01Speaker 1: You can talk about things that I think are much
- 22:04Speaker 1: more interesting than what you're currently talking about. We don't
- 22:06Speaker 1: care about the storage unit where people leave their things behind.
- 22:09Speaker 1: We don't really care about the titty tattoo, right, and
- 22:11Speaker 1: we want to get into these deeper conversations. I think
- 22:13Speaker 1: you could produce a much better show. But for those
- 22:16Speaker 1: of us who are still here, yeah, okay, season nineteen.
- 22:19Speaker 1: For those of us that are still watching, yeah, we're
- 22:21Speaker 1: not gonna stop watching. Oh we are going to be
- 22:23Speaker 1: here till the bitter end with our monicles.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Definitely one percent. And to your point about like it's
- 22:28Speaker 3: five adults versus just a marriage. But even then, like
- 22:31Speaker 3: John and eight plus Kate was also like just those two,
- 22:36Speaker 3: I mean they had eight thousand children, which is hard
- 22:38Speaker 3: to manage. It's totally good to manage.
- 22:39Speaker 2: They should give you.
- 22:40Speaker 1: A temper problem, and there's gonna be a lot of
- 22:41Speaker 1: different things happening.
- 22:42Speaker 3: But like we talked about that, because we've covered a
- 22:44Speaker 3: couple seasons of it on our Patreon, by the way,
- 22:46Speaker 3: which you should go join. How popular that show was.
- 22:50Speaker 3: It wasn't about the eight kids. Nobody cared about the
- 22:52Speaker 3: eight kids. It was about the dynamic between John and
- 22:57Speaker 3: eight because she was such an awful evil person and
- 23:01Speaker 3: her marriage was crumbling, and every now.
- 23:03Speaker 1: And then she'd snap at him, or she yell, or
- 23:05Speaker 1: he'd be defensive. Right, it would just like, Okay, well,
- 23:07Speaker 1: what's really going on over there?
- 23:09Speaker 2: And that's what made it good.
- 23:10Speaker 3: And they would produce themselves too, and like a lot
- 23:13Speaker 3: of those episodes are so boring.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Boring, we had to take a break. I'm like, I
- 23:17Speaker 2: can't do it.
- 23:18Speaker 1: I'm sleeping, God.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Like I don't care about going to the Hershey Amusement Park,
- 23:22Speaker 3: Like it's so stupid very much. So just show me
- 23:25Speaker 3: your marriage between John and like falling apart. Yeah, that's
- 23:28Speaker 3: what I want to see. I think that's totally why
- 23:30Speaker 3: people watch these kinds of shows, even Plaithfill. Yes, it's
- 23:33Speaker 3: kind of a boring show.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Kind of I mean, but I'm I'm objectedly invested.
- 23:38Speaker 3: But it is really good and there is a lot
- 23:40Speaker 3: of that subtext, especially with Kim and her big old booty.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Oh my god, big old duy Booty just out there
- 23:47Speaker 1: on the roads with her car, just flipping.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Her car with her big old boot and just cheating
- 23:51Speaker 3: on her husband.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Like boot Barry, he's a robot.
- 23:55Speaker 2: And then with all the stuff on social media that.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Comes out, it's like very very very compelling.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Honestly, I want more of these, like quote quote boring
- 24:06Speaker 3: reality shows because I do think they're more authentic than
- 24:09Speaker 3: some of the other, like heavily produced ones, because I
- 24:11Speaker 3: just kind of lose interest after a while.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Oh gosh, me too.
- 24:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Well, there's that show, The seven Little I think Johnston's,
- 24:18Speaker 1: oh yeah, which I think is supposed to be really
- 24:21Speaker 1: really good because the mother is a complete like monster
- 24:26Speaker 1: what yeah, and she plays favorites with her children and
- 24:31Speaker 1: like there's this one child of hers who's like super accomplished,
- 24:34Speaker 1: gone to college and is always seeking her approval, but
- 24:37Speaker 1: she's constantly just beating her dad. It's like, I think
- 24:39Speaker 1: that is one of those shows that we might want
- 24:41Speaker 1: to get into. Yeah, seven Little Johnston's. But those are
- 24:45Speaker 1: the types of shows, yeah, that I'm interested in. Like,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I'm so over like corporate reality TV.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 24:51Speaker 3: I'm so show me.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Actual, real families that are falling apart. They're all day.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I'm They're all day.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Yeah, So thanks Ash, Thank you Ash. Right, next one
- 25:00Speaker 3: we have is from Lisa.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Lisa.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Oh my god, Hi, B and D.
- 25:05Speaker 7: This is Lisa from a dumpster in Detroit. So I'm
- 25:10Speaker 7: watching your rewind episode of Sister Wives, Season six, episode eight,
- 25:17Speaker 7: and Dehlia, you are talking about the vibe between Robin
- 25:21Speaker 7: and Logan, and oh my god, Okay, I so get it.
- 25:26Speaker 7: I so see it because there was an episode where
- 25:30Speaker 7: Robin and Logan were sitting together on the couch and
- 25:33Speaker 7: don't you know, don't you know that both of them
- 25:37Speaker 7: had huge honk and cold source. So like, out of
- 25:40Speaker 7: twenty one people, those two were the only two with
- 25:44Speaker 7: cold source. They don't live in the same house, you know,
- 25:48Speaker 7: they don't share anything, but out of twenty one people,
- 25:52Speaker 7: those were the only two with big honk and cold
- 25:54Speaker 7: soores at the same time. And they're always laughy and
- 26:00Speaker 7: giggley together. Yeah, yeah, I totally get it. I totally
- 26:04Speaker 7: see it. Am I trying to throw a trash around
- 26:08Speaker 7: this dumpster? Yes I am, Yes, I am, because I
- 26:11Speaker 7: see it. I do, I see it. She was being
- 26:15Speaker 7: flirtatious with her big honkin cold sore. Now, lots of
- 26:20Speaker 7: people get cold sores, that's not a big deal, but
- 26:23Speaker 7: for the both of them to have them at the
- 26:25Speaker 7: same time, hmm, what do you think? Love you guys?
- 26:31Speaker 3: Oh my god, that is nasty.
- 26:34Speaker 2: These are our people, I know, these are our people people.
- 26:39Speaker 3: I love it, but that is so nasty. I don't
- 26:41Speaker 3: know what episode that is. I don't know either or
- 26:45Speaker 3: like disturbed.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I feel personally validated because I've just pick it up. Yeah, Robin,
- 26:52Speaker 1: I think I've been throwing that. Yeah, like she's feel
- 26:54Speaker 1: like leaning into Logan. But to be fair, yeah, Janelle's
- 26:58Speaker 1: got her some cold or all got cold. Christine and
- 27:01Speaker 1: Mary have had cold sores, And if Logan's mama had
- 27:05Speaker 1: a cold sore and they're living in the same house,
- 27:08Speaker 1: it is very likely that everybody's got cold sores or
- 27:11Speaker 1: everybody's got some sort of her piece simplex going on.
- 27:14Speaker 2: But I do like the theory me too.
- 27:16Speaker 1: It's a working theory that I can.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Work with well. And Logan's like of college agent at
- 27:21Speaker 3: this point, I'm sure. So maybe he's fucking unscrewing I
- 27:24Speaker 3: hope so for his sae. Yeah, so maybe he got
- 27:26Speaker 3: a cold saw from some other lady, but maybe girl.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Can you imagine a world dark where Logan is sneaking
- 27:33Speaker 1: across the could de Sac. It's like two am right,
- 27:36Speaker 1: it's a Tuesday evening.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Cody's over there, Christine's just hating his life, but.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Logan's and Logan's like, let me just tiptoe through the
- 27:43Speaker 1: tulips all the way over to Robin's.
- 27:46Speaker 3: I would die that, Robin, I'm here, I'm outside.
- 27:51Speaker 2: My gosh, she opens the door.
- 27:54Speaker 1: She's wearing her Mormon pajama to Mormon underwear pajamas.
- 27:58Speaker 2: It's about to go down.
- 28:00Speaker 3: This is why Logan doesn't talk.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 28:04Speaker 1: No, And I don't think it's I never got this
- 28:07Speaker 1: sense that it was on the part of Logan. I
- 28:09Speaker 1: always felt it more Robin. The vibe is more from Robin,
- 28:14Speaker 1: because she has to be the most pretty, she has
- 28:18Speaker 1: to be the most attractive.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Yeah, And so I just felt like she was the
- 28:23Speaker 3: one leaning into well and Logan's the oldest, and he's handsome, muscles,
- 28:28Speaker 3: he's got the muscles, college educated, yeah, young man muscles.
- 28:32Speaker 3: So I'm sure she's like looking at him like, oh yeah,
- 28:35Speaker 3: compared to Cody. I was sorry his hair, especially in
- 28:41Speaker 3: the earlier season.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Did you see in this.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Last episode that we covered season six, episodes nine.
- 28:46Speaker 10: I mean, just like a whole swath, like just bald
- 28:50Speaker 10: pate landscape growing on it at all looks like Christine's
- 28:55Speaker 10: backyard when she moved into the Couldest Stag.
- 28:57Speaker 2: It's just like moonscape skin.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Could you imagine that thrusting into you every night?
- 29:01Speaker 2: I cannot so. If I'm Robin and this man has
- 29:04Speaker 2: like a Twitter two, you will right like.
- 29:06Speaker 3: You'd be thinking about it.
- 29:07Speaker 2: And I'm only thirty two and I know how to
- 29:09Speaker 2: break down, right. Okay, have you seen me a Diesel Share? Yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 2: I'm all over it exactly. I'm so rotten. Oh my god,
- 29:18Speaker 2: I'm going to sisters.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Like the most disgusting, delicious trash. Yeah, we love so
- 29:24Speaker 3: thank you Lisa for that theory, and let us know
- 29:26Speaker 3: your other theories below.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Please in the comment Lisa is a real one.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yes, I love Lisa.
- 29:31Speaker 3: We love Lisa. And last caller we.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Have is from Tana Bait Tina Big Tanta Goode.
- 29:38Speaker 3: It's my DJ, Hey, D and D.
- 29:42Speaker 11: This is a little bit of a different post. I
- 29:46Speaker 11: love love your podcast. Listen to it all the time,
- 29:50Speaker 11: and I just want to let you know something. You
- 29:52Speaker 11: don't even know how much you're helping me. I am
- 29:57Speaker 11: going through a painful divorce and it's been really rough.
- 30:02Speaker 11: It's sometimes all I can do to get up and
- 30:03Speaker 11: go to work and come home and do it all again.
- 30:06Speaker 11: But I know y'all will be there for me. I
- 30:08Speaker 11: can turn on your podcast, I can listen to it.
- 30:10Speaker 11: I can forget about my troubles for a while and
- 30:13Speaker 11: focus on the Browns family's troubles. And I just want
- 30:16Speaker 11: to let you know that you're doing way more than
- 30:18Speaker 11: you think you are.
- 30:19Speaker 7: Love y'all.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Oh my god, we love you, Tina Bee. Oh my god,
- 30:24Speaker 3: isn't that sweet?
- 30:26Speaker 1: That is really sweet? And I just want to relate
- 30:30Speaker 1: with you. Tina Bee as a former divorce a.
- 30:34Speaker 2: A million times twice twice, I got.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Divorced twice long term marriages. First one was eight years,
- 30:40Speaker 1: second one was a fifty years with the child, with
- 30:42Speaker 1: a child everything, Like I mean, I've been through the
- 30:44Speaker 1: ringer with divorce, like it's going to be okay. Yeah,
- 30:50Speaker 1: it's very traumatic once when you're going through it, and
- 30:54Speaker 1: it's traumatic after you're done with it, and like there's
- 30:57Speaker 1: a season you just have to heal and take care
- 30:59Speaker 1: of yourself.
- 30:59Speaker 2: But it gets better.
- 31:01Speaker 1: There's a whole new world. There's chapters upon chapters to
- 31:05Speaker 1: be lived in your life. And I get it, and
- 31:08Speaker 1: I sympathize and commiserate with you.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm glad we can be here for you
- 31:13Speaker 3: through that. That's awesome.
- 31:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I mean we're silly.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I mean totally we're dumb, but like, sometimes that's what
- 31:18Speaker 1: we need to be. Yeah, and sometimes that's what makes
- 31:20Speaker 1: like life, which is very heavy right now, uh huh,
- 31:23Speaker 1: very heavy with child like life is heavy right now
- 31:28Speaker 1: in a lot of different ways, macro to meta. Like,
- 31:32Speaker 1: So it's important to laugh and just be silly and
- 31:35Speaker 1: to remember.
- 31:35Speaker 2: The frivolity of life.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and that we'll get through this. And it's so
- 31:39Speaker 1: important I think that we get.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Through it together. Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 1: A little community of raccoons, little rascals and a dumpster
- 31:45Speaker 1: just try to get by.
- 31:45Speaker 7: Damn.
- 31:46Speaker 2: That's got to be so hard.
- 31:48Speaker 3: We're just wearing a witin.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Get your wig on, come into the dumpster, get a cocktail. Yeah,
- 31:54Speaker 1: you're welcome here, Yes, you most definitely are.
