- 0:13Speaker 1: I am Chad Millman and guess what people guess what?

- 0:23Speaker 1: big deal. Jerry Jones may have left the defense with nobody,
- 0:27Speaker 1: but Dak Prescott's going to be the quarterback for the
- 0:30Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. Russell Wilson he may want out of Seattle.
- 0:33Speaker 1: John Gruden is a wild card renegade making crazy trades
- 0:37Speaker 1: that probably make the Patriots better and do nothing for
- 0:40Speaker 1: the Raiders. Zach Wilson b y U quarterback moving up
- 0:43Speaker 1: the draftworks justin field moving down the draft boards. What
- 0:47Speaker 1: does all of this mean for NFL futures? How can
- 0:51Speaker 1: we get ahead of it? Plus later in the show,
- 0:53Speaker 1: does one of our co hosts have a Pikachu Pokemon
- 0:57Speaker 1: card with four thousand dollars? Does he have two of them?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Are they owned by my companion? Is it possible for
- 1:05Speaker 1: the rich to get richer? Finally, we will do a
- 1:08Speaker 1: top shot pack opening on the podcast. We are hitting
- 1:11Speaker 1: all the trends. We are so digital trendy. Today we're
- 1:17Speaker 1: gonna talk about NFL futures. First Action Network Analysts Football
- 1:21Speaker 1: Genius someone getting dressed just to please me in the morning.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Chris Raybun plus my brother in arms, my co host
- 1:32Speaker 1: Simon Hunter Fellas, how are you going on? You know,
- 1:37Speaker 1: how to get fresh for you chat? Had a couple
- 1:39Speaker 1: get my jersey collection up, but I decided to throw
- 1:41Speaker 1: on the sweetness. You know, I should explain you are as.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You know, I'm a huge Bears fan and you are
- 1:48Speaker 1: dressed right now in a very very sweet Bears hat
- 1:52Speaker 1: and a very very sweet Walter Payton throwback sweetness jersey.
- 1:55Speaker 1: What does Simon do? Simon comes in looking like he's
- 1:58Speaker 1: sitting in his guest bedroom and that exactly is what
- 2:00Speaker 1: I am doing. Hi Chat. We're probably have to go
- 2:02Speaker 1: back and edit anyway, It's two chares. ARD's not to
- 2:05Speaker 1: Pika choese, you old old man. Get the Pokemons right,
- 2:09Speaker 1: jesus A graphic chars area. That's like the only Pokemon
- 2:14Speaker 1: card I kept from my youth, Like I used to
- 2:16Speaker 1: collect to but I kept that one. Chargers are just
- 2:18Speaker 1: because like it was always the one everybody was going after,
- 2:21Speaker 1: Like people will get jumped for that back in the day.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I don't understand this, this conversation, like you're too old,
- 2:28Speaker 1: You're just an old man in a normal world. If
- 2:31Speaker 1: someone said to me, Hey, what Simon Hunter like or
- 2:33Speaker 1: what's Chris Raybon like? I would be like, Oh my god,
- 2:36Speaker 1: they're amazing. They're so cool, They're so good at what
- 2:40Speaker 1: they do. Raybon is as smart as anyone I've met
- 2:44Speaker 1: when it comes to thinking about the numbers, when it
- 2:47Speaker 1: comes to analyzing these games. He cares so much about
- 2:50Speaker 1: the quality of his work. He's got something thoughtful to
- 2:53Speaker 1: say about everything that we engage in sign I would say,
- 2:57Speaker 1: he's so interesting, such an eclectic background, came to this
- 3:01Speaker 1: from such a different universe, and also like really wants
- 3:05Speaker 1: to be helpful to the people that are listening to
- 3:07Speaker 1: the podcast. And then you two fuckers start talking about
- 3:12Speaker 1: charges ards and Pokemon cards like in the most serious
- 3:16Speaker 1: conversation I could possibly imagine. And you also failed to
- 3:21Speaker 1: give you yourself a similar intro. It didn't live up
- 3:25Speaker 1: to who are so you're kind of setting yourself up
- 3:28Speaker 1: to fail here. I don't need to be introduced, you
- 3:31Speaker 1: know what I am. I'm a giver. That's what I do.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I bring everybody together, I set them all up, and
- 3:37Speaker 1: I want the conversation from there to flow. That's it.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I can get out of the way. I don't listen.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'm not down though. I don't need to be the
- 3:46Speaker 1: center of it all. I can just be the guy
- 3:49Speaker 1: asking questions. You're doing that, all right, Let's get u
- 3:52Speaker 1: some questions. Then let's do some NFL futures because by
- 3:56Speaker 1: the way things have been going insane in the NFL.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Dak Prescott signed, Russell Wilson wants to get traded. Zach
- 4:03Speaker 1: Wilson might be going to the Jets. It's like, how
- 4:05Speaker 1: are we supposed to think about this future's board right now?
- 4:10Speaker 1: Let me give some numbers here, like we got the
- 4:14Speaker 1: Cowboys at tw to one. Simon Hunter, I'm gonna start
- 4:18Speaker 1: with you give me some sense right now about how
- 4:20Speaker 1: you are looking at this at this futures as board.
- 4:24Speaker 1: We talked about the Cowboys like what was that a
- 4:26Speaker 1: month ago? Um, I just always say there's never a
- 4:28Speaker 1: value in the Cowboys future because the public just loves
- 4:32Speaker 1: the Cowboys, like a lot of people are Cowboys fans
- 4:34Speaker 1: and that's who pets them up. This move doesn't move
- 4:37Speaker 1: the needle at all from me. I assumed he was
- 4:38Speaker 1: gonna be back there. Uh, you said it as well.
- 4:42Speaker 1: They don't they didn't improve on their defense. I know
- 4:44Speaker 1: people said their defense made strides into the year. They
- 4:47Speaker 1: literally just played the NFC East in the year. They
- 4:49Speaker 1: they their defense hasn't really improved that much, and with
- 4:52Speaker 1: all the holes on the old line, they still have
- 4:54Speaker 1: a lot of guys with injuries. I just don't really
- 4:58Speaker 1: this doesn't really do much for me with this. I
- 5:00Speaker 1: still have higher hopes for teams like Washington now this division,
- 5:03Speaker 1: when they can sign Juju Smith Schuster is the number
- 5:06Speaker 1: two receiver, Washington is gonna have a really good offense.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So's It's still one of those where I'm not betting
- 5:10Speaker 1: the Cowboys on anything for division work, super Bowl. So
- 5:12Speaker 1: for me, this did nothing for me. I'm staying away
- 5:14Speaker 1: from it. Yeah yeah, I talked about I wrote it
- 5:18Speaker 1: up for Action Network on Action network dot com. Thirty
- 5:22Speaker 1: point five points per game? Did the Cowboys give up
- 5:25Speaker 1: in that Prescott's for full games played. It's gonna be
- 5:29Speaker 1: really tough even with you know, them gaining a little
- 5:32Speaker 1: bit of flexibility compared to what their cat number would
- 5:35Speaker 1: have been, which would have been like thirty seven mill
- 5:37Speaker 1: if they franchised them. Um, looks like they're gonna get
- 5:40Speaker 1: about twelve million and savings by um, you know, the
- 5:43Speaker 1: way they structure this contract for next year. But this
- 5:46Speaker 1: is the defense that ranked bottom five in terms of scoring.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And you look at d v o A, which is
- 5:53Speaker 1: essentially just schedule adjusted efficiency in terms of how well
- 5:58Speaker 1: you create points and over the last thirty seven years,
- 6:04Speaker 1: so going back to uh nineteen eight, four teams that
- 6:09Speaker 1: were below fourteen in terms of overall b B o A.
- 6:18Speaker 1: They only made two Super Bowls, so they're only five
- 6:21Speaker 1: percent of the time did a team like that end up,
- 6:25Speaker 1: you know, going to the Super Bowl and this Cowboy
- 6:28Speaker 1: team because of that defense, it's gonna be really hard
- 6:31Speaker 1: for them to to be in that you know, top
- 6:34Speaker 1: half of the league so to speak. They were twenty
- 6:36Speaker 1: third last year. So the Cowboys are one of those
- 6:39Speaker 1: teams you know, kind of going awful up time and said,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I mean they're always overvalued in the market anyway, but um,
- 6:45Speaker 1: they're a team I'm kind of just crossing off my
- 6:48Speaker 1: futures board altogether just because, Um, if I'm looking at
- 6:52Speaker 1: the their chances of winning the Super Bowl, uh really
- 6:55Speaker 1: not there for them. It really just doesn't happen. Uh.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And then you look at or division odds and their
- 7:01Speaker 1: even money to win the NFC eight and those are
- 7:04Speaker 1: bad out as bad odds as well, So the Cowboys
- 7:07Speaker 1: are fade for me. All right. So this gets interesting
- 7:10Speaker 1: because Simon, you mentioned the Washington football team, Raybond, you're
- 7:14Speaker 1: talking about how Dallas it doesn't matter what they do
- 7:17Speaker 1: because they can't improve their defense. They're not gonna have
- 7:19Speaker 1: enough cat flexibility, even which one willion to spend. Let's
- 7:23Speaker 1: talk about the Washington football team. They're currently six to
- 7:26Speaker 1: one to win the Super Bowl. Raybond, I want to
- 7:29Speaker 1: go to you first because you mentioned the NFC East odds,
- 7:34Speaker 1: the Cowboys not being a team you want to buy on,
- 7:37Speaker 1: the Washington football team a team you would think about
- 7:40Speaker 1: buying into. Yeah, I think out of all of their teams,
- 7:45Speaker 1: they stand out the most along with the Eagles, but
- 7:48Speaker 1: that the numbers aren't really backing up the Eagles as much.
- 7:51Speaker 1: They were, you know, bottom five in in overall d
- 7:55Speaker 1: v O. A A lot of that to do with
- 7:56Speaker 1: Carson Wentz in the offense, but just fifteenth on defense,
- 8:00Speaker 1: funny second on special team. Very um, you know, bolo
- 8:03Speaker 1: average team. But Wakington did have that number three defensive
- 8:06Speaker 1: unit and that's really what has been the most predictive
- 8:10Speaker 1: of Super Bowls. It's either you're gonna have you're gonna
- 8:13Speaker 1: have a weak one a week units. So if you
- 8:15Speaker 1: look back over those last thirty seven years, uh, the
- 8:18Speaker 1: team that's won the Super Bowl has had either a
- 8:22Speaker 1: top eight excuse me, a top nine offense or defense
- 8:28Speaker 1: uh in all but one of the years, and the
- 8:30Speaker 1: top eight and all but two of the years. So
- 8:31Speaker 1: about at the time that team is finishing, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 1: top ten on either offense or on defense, Washington, text
- 8:41Speaker 1: that box, Dallas, Philly, New York do not. It's just
- 8:45Speaker 1: really tough to get better all over in the span
- 8:50Speaker 1: of one year, which is why sometimes you see these
- 8:52Speaker 1: teams like the Bucks. Uh. You know, obviously they got
- 8:54Speaker 1: Tom Brady, so that that helped them a lot. But
- 8:56Speaker 1: let's not forget they also had a top five defense
- 8:59Speaker 1: last year, so um, you know it was it was
- 9:01Speaker 1: a lot easier for them to kind of, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 1: get Tom Brady in there, and all of a sudden,
- 9:05Speaker 1: they're just they're a team to beat in an entire league. Um,
- 9:08Speaker 1: which is the case with Tom anyway most of the time.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But um, you know, it's it's really kind of tough
- 9:14Speaker 1: if you're not uh we in that weeks one aspect,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and Washington that defense does give them some hope. So
- 9:19Speaker 1: Washington is a team that I'm looking at more, though
- 9:22Speaker 1: maybe I still think the super Bowl is a long
- 9:25Speaker 1: shot for them. But you look at division odds, um,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I think that's where you really wanted to get in
- 9:30Speaker 1: on Washington, Simon. He just said that your sixty two
- 9:34Speaker 1: one super bet is stupid on Washington. That's how I said,
- 9:37Speaker 1: That's how I heard that. I mean, it is like,
- 9:42Speaker 1: that's what That's why I make these kind of bets.
- 9:43Speaker 1: It's like I'm just looking for that long time. What
- 9:45Speaker 1: did he said about the bucket years exactly right from
- 9:47Speaker 1: last year is that they were the fifth ranked defense
- 9:50Speaker 1: the year before and then they opened up at fifty
- 9:53Speaker 1: five to one to win the Super Bowl the following year.
- 9:55Speaker 1: That was a simple reason I bet it. It wasn't
- 9:57Speaker 1: because I knew Tom Brady was going there. It was like, okay,
- 9:59Speaker 1: this team out of five defense, if wins, that can
- 10:01Speaker 1: improve just a little bit where they can get a
- 10:03Speaker 1: QB in there, that that figure it out, that's a
- 10:05Speaker 1: great team. Boom it hit. That was pure luck. I
- 10:08Speaker 1: did not see them. That whole thing happened this year
- 10:11Speaker 1: is the same thing with Washington. It's like, I love
- 10:13Speaker 1: their defense so much. I love McLaurin, I love Ron Rivere,
- 10:17Speaker 1: his whole story, like overcoming the cancer, Like how how
- 10:20Speaker 1: did that team? They're always gonna play hard for that guy.
- 10:22Speaker 1: That dude really lives the life of no days off.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So it's just one of these teams that, yeah, it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: six one, it's crazy. But if they can just somehow
- 10:31Speaker 1: get this Watson trade done or whatever they're gonna do,
- 10:34Speaker 1: get a quarterback in there, I just love that value because,
- 10:37Speaker 1: like we just said, we don't really feel confident about
- 10:39Speaker 1: Daniel Jones, we don't feel confident about the Dallas Cowboys,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and we don't really know about the Eagles. So for me,
- 10:44Speaker 1: with these odds and I already know what I have
- 10:46Speaker 1: in this defense, I just love the value on Washington
- 10:49Speaker 1: coming into this year. That's actually a good point because
- 10:52Speaker 1: it actually harkens back to you know, back in the
- 10:55Speaker 1: way eighties early nineties, Washington. You know, they had some pieces,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you know, they had the offensive line, they generally had
- 11:01Speaker 1: a good defense, and they ended up winning you know,
- 11:04Speaker 1: two Super Bowls with two different quarterbacks. And the second
- 11:06Speaker 1: time was with Mark rippon Um and you know, that
- 11:10Speaker 1: defense kind of led the way and that was actually, like,
- 11:13Speaker 1: if you look back at their numbers, they're one of
- 11:14Speaker 1: the better teams of all times. So like Washington already
- 11:17Speaker 1: has that defense there where if they do get if
- 11:20Speaker 1: they do hit the jackpot, you know, at the quarterback
- 11:23Speaker 1: position one way or another, whether it's Watson or or
- 11:25Speaker 1: somebody else, uh, and the offense can get up you know,
- 11:29Speaker 1: even close to the level of that defense. Um, they
- 11:31Speaker 1: actually can make them. Knowing, so I don't hate that
- 11:33Speaker 1: pig at all, all right, So this somewhat becomes a
- 11:36Speaker 1: lesson in sort of rumor scraping and handicapping where we
- 11:42Speaker 1: think the pool of available quarterbacks will go. And we
- 11:47Speaker 1: know Doc is going to stay in Dallas, and we
- 11:49Speaker 1: know that that's not really impacting anything. We know that
- 11:51Speaker 1: Washington is an interesting futures bet at We know that
- 11:56Speaker 1: potentially Teddy Bridgewater is available. We know that Deshaun Watson
- 12:02Speaker 1: is pushing to get himself traded on the far far
- 12:06Speaker 1: reaches of the universe. Is Russell Wilson going to be available?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Let's start with Deshaun Watson, because that's like the best
- 12:15Speaker 1: player who really wants to go. Everybody knows it. Even
- 12:19Speaker 1: though the Texans are saying they won't trade him, Let's
- 12:22Speaker 1: try to handicap the options of where he ends up
- 12:26Speaker 1: and what that does to Super Bowl future. Simon you start,
- 12:30Speaker 1: It's definitely gonna be tough here because it is a
- 12:32Speaker 1: lot of just rumors and b us. Like I literally
- 12:36Speaker 1: I took a trip out to Vegas like three weeks
- 12:38Speaker 1: ago when I was talking to all the people there.
- 12:40Speaker 1: They can be biased, for sure, but the more they
- 12:42Speaker 1: started talking about the move for Las Vegas Raiders to
- 12:45Speaker 1: trade for DeShawn, the more it made sense. Where if
- 12:48Speaker 1: they can give up their car and another asset and
- 12:51Speaker 1: a couple of first round picks, I think that's a
- 12:53Speaker 1: really sweet deal that Houston would take because they're getting
- 12:56Speaker 1: back a good quarterback and they're getting first round picks
- 12:58Speaker 1: what they want. Because I really, the more I read
- 13:01Speaker 1: about the Sean, I just can't see Watson playing for
- 13:04Speaker 1: Houston this year. It seems like he's done, Like he
- 13:07Speaker 1: wanted to return the owner's calls and he doesn't want
- 13:09Speaker 1: to talk to them. So I know they're trying to
- 13:11Speaker 1: play cool and they're saying he's gonna be here and
- 13:13Speaker 1: things like that. But it's gonna be really exciting to
- 13:16Speaker 1: come draft time because people are gonna make crazy offers
- 13:19Speaker 1: once it gets really close to the draft date and
- 13:22Speaker 1: all these teams, they're not going to get the same
- 13:24Speaker 1: information they get normal years. There's no combine. You have
- 13:27Speaker 1: a Pro Day and I think you get five zoom
- 13:29Speaker 1: meetings tops with the players. So I just think an
- 13:32Speaker 1: established quarterback like that, once it gets close to the
- 13:35Speaker 1: draft and all these teams are gonna be really heating up.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I do think he's an get moved. So right now,
- 13:39Speaker 1: my favorite bet for him is with Boklinch just because
- 13:41Speaker 1: I love their odds. They're so high right now. Oh god,
- 13:46Speaker 1: oh god, John Gruden trading for Deshaun Watson, the dude
- 13:50Speaker 1: would get fleeced. He might give up every single player
- 13:53Speaker 1: on defense and they might just say, Okay, we'll only
- 13:55Speaker 1: play offense. You can get seven points every time you
- 13:58Speaker 1: get the ball. That would be a night mare scenario.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But honestly, they don't really have much to give up
- 14:04Speaker 1: on the defense. Um, they're just a really young team. Uh.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And I know what everyone's thinking with the Chiefs, but
- 14:10Speaker 1: it's more like I'm trying to fade the Chiefs super
- 14:12Speaker 1: Bowl hangover. We've just seen it time and time again.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Teams that lose in the Super Bowl usually the following
- 14:17Speaker 1: year they just have a big let down here. So
- 14:19Speaker 1: that's why I kind of just want to bank on
- 14:21Speaker 1: Oakland taking over because so many people are going towards
- 14:23Speaker 1: the Chiefs, are going towards the Chargers. I just like
- 14:26Speaker 1: the value I'm getting on Oakland as a team that's
- 14:27Speaker 1: not really being talked about, that has a lot of
- 14:29Speaker 1: good pieces on that team. I think a sleeper team
- 14:36Speaker 1: to watch Deshaun Watson. Two is the Patriots there right
- 14:42Speaker 1: there were with Vegas. Uh, you know kind of in
- 14:44Speaker 1: those odds, you know, thirty four one depending on your
- 14:47Speaker 1: sports book. Uh, you know, the Patriots really didn't have
- 14:51Speaker 1: good years on offense or defense. They were outside the
- 14:54Speaker 1: top twenty, but they were number one on special teams.
- 14:57Speaker 1: And you know, the couple of outlier team that you
- 15:00Speaker 1: know did end up winning a Super Bowl when they
- 15:03Speaker 1: didn't have a top flight offense or defense were ranked
- 15:07Speaker 1: really high in special teams and and the Patriots being
- 15:10Speaker 1: one of them. So that's a situation where he finds
- 15:12Speaker 1: his way to New England and you you already have
- 15:15Speaker 1: Bill Belichick there. You're gonna get, you know, the traded
- 15:17Speaker 1: for Trent Brown. You're getting some some guys maybe you know,
- 15:20Speaker 1: coming back off the you know, after the opt out. UM.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I think that's a team that could turn around, uh
- 15:25Speaker 1: in a hurry. So I'm kind of watching to see
- 15:29Speaker 1: um if that's a possibility for him. But I think,
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know, if if he were to go to Washington,
- 15:33Speaker 1: that probably would be ideal as well, just because again,
- 15:37Speaker 1: that defense is so it is already you know where
- 15:40Speaker 1: it needs to be. What would you give up right
- 15:42Speaker 1: now for Deshaun Watson. You're you're the Washington football team.
- 15:47Speaker 1: You've got a front four that could develop into something
- 15:52Speaker 1: truly historically special. UM, incredible edge rushers, incredible tackles like
- 15:59Speaker 1: Chase Young anchoring that line for the next decade could
- 16:04Speaker 1: be like Reggie White, what are you willing to give
- 16:08Speaker 1: up to get to Shaun Watson? Are you willing to
- 16:10Speaker 1: give up of that defensive line? I'm giving up anyone
- 16:15Speaker 1: but Chase Young. Terry mclauren. Yeah, but Chase Younger, Terry mclauren. Really,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm giving up any picks they want because you look
- 16:23Speaker 1: at Washington too, and in that NFC East. Even though Washington,
- 16:28Speaker 1: you know, as it stands, is kind of a middwing team.
- 16:32Speaker 1: At the end of the day, they're playing in the
- 16:34Speaker 1: NFC East, which projects to be fairly weak. And so
- 16:37Speaker 1: as we saw last year, you may get some wins
- 16:40Speaker 1: in that division, uh, just because of the weakness of
- 16:44Speaker 1: it that you may not get if you're playing and
- 16:46Speaker 1: say the NFC South or something like that. So Washington
- 16:49Speaker 1: is not necessarily you know, even if they were to
- 16:52Speaker 1: to do poorly like their draft, I wouldn't be valuing
- 16:55Speaker 1: my draft capital too highway because there's a chance I
- 16:57Speaker 1: could you know, finish with you know, outplay my talent level.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Just because of the division I'm in, I'm giving up
- 17:04Speaker 1: pretty much any I mean, DeShawn Watson on on a
- 17:07Speaker 1: you know, just a shakyation lact here was one of
- 17:12Speaker 1: the most efficient passes in the NFL, had a career year. Um,
- 17:16Speaker 1: you know, this guy is a guy that he's gonna
- 17:18Speaker 1: he can fight through adversity. Uh. You know, he came
- 17:21Speaker 1: back off the injury and still posting a wheak numbers,
- 17:24Speaker 1: you know, for these last couple of years. So I
- 17:26Speaker 1: would give up anything if I'm anyone really but Washington especially,
- 17:30Speaker 1: I'm I'm throwing a banquet at Watson, So yeah, I'm
- 17:35Speaker 1: right there with him. It's it's a no brainer. It's
- 17:37Speaker 1: one of those where Watson's just people just doubt him
- 17:40Speaker 1: for some reason in the NFL like that whole all
- 17:43Speaker 1: their excuses for not draft. You know, it's just all
- 17:45Speaker 1: such just pure bs, like the fact that this kid
- 17:48Speaker 1: was back to back in the National Championship, never missed games,
- 17:52Speaker 1: was just incredible at Clemson and then dropped the draft.
- 17:55Speaker 1: And the way that is right now, if I was
- 17:58Speaker 1: a team, easily, I give up next this year and
- 18:01Speaker 1: next year's first and second round picks. It's just if
- 18:04Speaker 1: you get him, it's irrelevant those draft picks. No d
- 18:07Speaker 1: Lyman's winning team super Bowls being a first round pick.
- 18:10Speaker 1: It's it's one of those where the QB is just
- 18:13Speaker 1: so much inflated price wise, where we know what Deshaun
- 18:17Speaker 1: Watson is. He's a top five quarterback in the NFL.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So when you have an asset like that, you give
- 18:22Speaker 1: up whatever it takes to get that asset, because what
- 18:24Speaker 1: do we know? We know every year like this year,
- 18:26Speaker 1: there's gonna be five quarterbacks drafted, just mathematically, only one
- 18:29Speaker 1: of them mathematically has a chance of even being a
- 18:33Speaker 1: top five quarterback. So that's what I mean. It's just
- 18:36Speaker 1: one of those where you already know you have a
- 18:39Speaker 1: chance of this guy being a top five quarterback. Give
- 18:42Speaker 1: up three first round picks, do whatever you have to do.
- 18:43Speaker 1: If I was Washington, I would be honestly about anything.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I love Chase Young. I think he's incredible, but he
- 18:48Speaker 1: wouldn't be off the table for me just because if
- 18:50Speaker 1: that's what takes to get the deal done, I would
- 18:52Speaker 1: do it just because eventually you'll able to fill in
- 18:55Speaker 1: two guys for that one guy with Chase Young, where
- 18:57Speaker 1: there aren't two quarterbacks you can plug in that can
- 18:59Speaker 1: do what Deshaun Watson does. I just think the value
- 19:02Speaker 1: of quarterback overrates any other value on the field. So
- 19:04Speaker 1: for me, that's a no brain. I'd give up whatever
- 19:06Speaker 1: it takes to get him. So this is what's interesting.
- 19:09Speaker 1: There is a team, uh that I root for that
- 19:12Speaker 1: raybon is a dressed in all their gear today in
- 19:15Speaker 1: the Chicago Bears, that already passed on him once. If
- 19:19Speaker 1: I'm the Bears, and I say this in all seriousness,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I would give up my next eight number one picks honestly,
- 19:28Speaker 1: like the the and I would give up Khalil Mack
- 19:31Speaker 1: because what because Deshaun Watson is a generational player. He
- 19:37Speaker 1: Raybon is shaking his head. He is a general, fational
- 19:40Speaker 1: player who has already proven how good he can be.
- 19:43Speaker 1: He is only going to get better. He's done this
- 19:46Speaker 1: coming back from an a c L. He proved it
- 19:48Speaker 1: in college. He is everything you want in a quarterback.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And like the Bears already screwed this up once and
- 19:55Speaker 1: their team that drafts is so bad, you're not gonna
- 19:57Speaker 1: get anyone for those next eight picks anyways. You're gonna
- 20:00Speaker 1: get horrible players who don't make a difference. So get
- 20:03Speaker 1: a guy who is a proven commodity. You were shaking
- 20:07Speaker 1: your head. I just think that even though a quarterback
- 20:10Speaker 1: is obviously the most valuable player, I just think to
- 20:13Speaker 1: actually put it together, you know, for for what we're
- 20:15Speaker 1: kind of talking about here, to be able to win
- 20:17Speaker 1: a super Bowl or win a conference, uh you know,
- 20:20Speaker 1: even a division, but more so you know, go, you know,
- 20:23Speaker 1: go get to the super Bowl. I still think you
- 20:25Speaker 1: need that game changer on defense as well. Like I
- 20:29Speaker 1: think that if you kind of trade Mac or you
- 20:33Speaker 1: trade Chake Young for Deshaun Watson. You just get the
- 20:38Speaker 1: youth and Texans of twenty who are who are thirtieth
- 20:42Speaker 1: in defense, even with Watson playing out of his mind,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and thus you know, we're one of the worst teams
- 20:46Speaker 1: in the National Football Week. So and I also think
- 20:49Speaker 1: you want to kind of you want Watson to be
- 20:51Speaker 1: happy wherever he wins, Like he's obviously unhappy in Houston.
- 20:55Speaker 1: But now you break the bank together and it comes
- 20:58Speaker 1: it becomes almost like one of that Carmelo Anthony to
- 21:01Speaker 1: the next situation. Uh, you know back when when he
- 21:03Speaker 1: got traded there and you know that they could have waited,
- 21:05Speaker 1: but they traded their old team for him and it
- 21:08Speaker 1: didn't work out. And I think you're gonna kind of
- 21:10Speaker 1: cap your ceiling a little bit if you trade like
- 21:12Speaker 1: the game changer, which is why I say, like trade
- 21:14Speaker 1: anyone else crede a bunch of picks, because you know
- 21:17Speaker 1: picks can go either way. We see that every year.
- 21:20Speaker 1: It's it's it's a crap shoot. But I keep the
- 21:23Speaker 1: game changer on defense, pair him with Watson, and I
- 21:25Speaker 1: think that's what makes the team dangerous, all right. So
- 21:28Speaker 1: The one team we're not talking about here at length
- 21:33Speaker 1: is the Carolina Panthers, who have a quarterback in Teddy
- 21:37Speaker 1: Bridgewater who is considered trade bait, and they are talking
- 21:43Speaker 1: about potentially drafting someone. Do they go all in? They've
- 21:47Speaker 1: got a coach in Matt Rule who got that team
- 21:49Speaker 1: to play so hard last year. I want to talk
- 21:54Speaker 1: about the Carolina Panthers getting Deshaun Watson, who is from
- 21:59Speaker 1: the area at least in terms of when he went
- 22:01Speaker 1: to went where he went to college, played at Clemson,
- 22:04Speaker 1: right across the border from Charlotte where Carolina plays. What
- 22:09Speaker 1: does DeShawn Watson immediately due to Carolina if he's on
- 22:12Speaker 1: the Carolina Panthers, Simon go Yeah. If I was a
- 22:16Speaker 1: gym of Carolina, I would not do that move. They
- 22:18Speaker 1: are one of the few teams that I would stay
- 22:20Speaker 1: away from it, just simply for you have to look
- 22:23Speaker 1: at the grand scheme when you're doing these kind of
- 22:24Speaker 1: moves and you're in a division right now where we
- 22:26Speaker 1: don't know who normal quarterbacks gonna be. The buckets an
- 22:28Speaker 1: old man, and Matt Ryan is playing Atlanta. They're talking
- 22:30Speaker 1: about drafting a quarterback too, So I think they're in
- 22:33Speaker 1: a position here. Whe they've drafted a young defense, they
- 22:35Speaker 1: have good young weapons on all offense. They should just
- 22:39Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what they're gonna do in
- 22:40Speaker 1: the draft of their pick, but if I was in
- 22:42Speaker 1: my trade up and get one of these really good quarterbacks,
- 22:44Speaker 1: like we're gonna get into in further weeks. But this
- 22:46Speaker 1: draft class of quarterbacks, I really do think at least
- 22:49Speaker 1: two of these guys are gonna hit. It's just a
- 22:51Speaker 1: really strong class where a lot of these guys that
- 22:53Speaker 1: do have weaknesses, they don't have weaknesses, but one of
- 22:55Speaker 1: these guys is definitely gonna hit, and that's that's a guarantee.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I just think in there for position, the way that
- 23:00Speaker 1: division is, they have to go quarterback here in the draft,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I just don't. And then moving these pieces again at Watson,
- 23:07Speaker 1: that is great, But there's other teams I like that
- 23:09Speaker 1: are in better position than Carolina is right now. I
- 23:11Speaker 1: still think they're in such a rebuild mode that match
- 23:14Speaker 1: just go draft this quarterback. Raybon, your best friend, my
- 23:18Speaker 1: mortal enemy. Matthew Friedman did his mock draft recently on
- 23:21Speaker 1: Action network dot Com. Is most recent he believes that
- 23:25Speaker 1: the Carolina Panthers will draft Justin fields Um with the
- 23:32Speaker 1: eighth overall pick. Do you like that play better than
- 23:35Speaker 1: trying to get Deshaun Watson. No, I mean I think
- 23:39Speaker 1: I disagree with you, Simon. I think that regardless of
- 23:43Speaker 1: where your team is, I think if you have a
- 23:45Speaker 1: chance to get Deshaun Watson, you get him because he's
- 23:48Speaker 1: just that kind of difference maker. Um. So, like Eddy Bridgewater,
- 23:51Speaker 1: he's mediocre. You know that the team was mediocre last year,
- 23:55Speaker 1: you know, poor last year, you know, not even mediocre. Um.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I do think that the defense still probably another year away. Um,
- 24:02Speaker 1: I think they're very well coached, but you just have
- 24:05Speaker 1: to do it. If you're any team that can get
- 24:08Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson that if you need a quarterback, I think
- 24:10Speaker 1: you go after him. But I don't think it would
- 24:13Speaker 1: make as big of an impact in Carolina because one
- 24:16Speaker 1: of my favorite futures this year, and usually I'm so
- 24:21Speaker 1: down on them because everybody loves them and I'm always like,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you know they're gonna disappoint. Now, no one's on them
- 24:27Speaker 1: because there's a lot of uncertainty. That's exactly when you
- 24:29Speaker 1: buy in New Orleans Saints. Who are they gonna have
- 24:33Speaker 1: a quarterback? There's three possibilities, maybe even more, maybe maybe
- 24:36Speaker 1: even four because you factor in Russell Wilson. But regardless
- 24:40Speaker 1: of who they have at quarterback, you can see Sean
- 24:42Speaker 1: Payton making it work. I mean Taysom Hill. It starts
- 24:45Speaker 1: with one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the league.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Believe it or not. I mean, it was ridiculous just
- 24:49Speaker 1: how Sean Payton could scheme this thing up. I think,
- 24:51Speaker 1: even if you know it and it ends up being jamis,
- 24:54Speaker 1: I think this team is dangerous. But you look at
- 24:57Speaker 1: the past. You know, thirty seven super Bows, which is
- 25:00Speaker 1: how long Football Outsider started tracking h d v o
- 25:03Speaker 1: A and the team that finished number one in overall
- 25:07Speaker 1: d v o A the year before the next year
- 25:12Speaker 1: they get to the Super Bowl. Uh. So they win
- 25:15Speaker 1: their conference a third of the time, they win the
- 25:18Speaker 1: Super Bowl more than one in five times. Um, right
- 25:22Speaker 1: now in New Orleans is nine to one at bet
- 25:25Speaker 1: MGM to win the NFC. Uh and about uh you know,
- 25:29Speaker 1: plus about eighteen to one to win the Super Bowl.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I really like those outs I think this is a
- 25:36Speaker 1: year where, um, there's some value on a team that's
- 25:39Speaker 1: a WEE, a team that showed it can it? Can
- 25:41Speaker 1: you know, match up with Tampa Bay beat them two
- 25:43Speaker 1: out of three. Uh, you know, and a team that
- 25:45Speaker 1: showed it can win with uh you know, kind of
- 25:48Speaker 1: different quarterbacks over the last couple of years, a team
- 25:51Speaker 1: that has shown it will draft well and maybe, you know,
- 25:55Speaker 1: maybe if it's if it ends up not being Breeze,
- 25:57Speaker 1: it's you know, a better situation just because there were
- 26:00Speaker 1: some limitations UM with him. So I really like New
- 26:04Speaker 1: Orleans this year because this is the year they're kind
- 26:07Speaker 1: of being swept on. And Seattle as well. Seattle the
- 26:09Speaker 1: team I like every year, but we don't know Russell
- 26:11Speaker 1: Wilson is gonna be out or not. UM, so they're
- 26:13Speaker 1: a little bit undervalued as well. UM. You know, a
- 26:16Speaker 1: top five team in d v o A wins the
- 26:18Speaker 1: Super Bowl. UM has won the Super Bowl twenty of
- 26:20Speaker 1: the thirty seven times at and Seattle was number five
- 26:25Speaker 1: off the strength of their offense. Their defense didn't prove
- 26:27Speaker 1: down the stretch. So, UM, Seattle the team you could
- 26:29Speaker 1: kind of bet on. Hey, maybe they keep Russell Wilson.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of upside there. Eleven and
- 26:33Speaker 1: one to win the NFC and win the Super Bowl.
- 26:36Speaker 1: But I really like New Orleans. So that's interesting, Raybon Simon,
- 26:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna watch you to respond. But the Saints, the Browns,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and the Seahawks are the next three teams outside of
- 26:47Speaker 1: that tier of the first say seven teams of the Chiefs, Bucks, Bills, Packers, Rams, Ravens,
- 26:55Speaker 1: and Niners. Eight teams that are all fifteen to one
- 26:59Speaker 1: or less. Then you get into the sort of high teens,
- 27:02Speaker 1: low twenties Saints, Brown, Seahawks. Raybon, you said, I M
- 27:10Speaker 1: that's the next three teams there. What do you think
- 27:13Speaker 1: of his take? Well, first, the Carolina of course, dude,
- 27:17Speaker 1: I would want I want to Shawn Watson. I just
- 27:19Speaker 1: said I'd be willing to give up for for Tromp
- 27:20Speaker 1: fix for the guy. I'm just saying for Carolina's situation,
- 27:23Speaker 1: I just wouldn't do it if I was building that
- 27:25Speaker 1: franchise up, because I just see they have a lot
- 27:27Speaker 1: of really great pieces there. If they just keep building
- 27:29Speaker 1: through the draft, I think they could be a great
- 27:31Speaker 1: team in the future. I'm off the Saints just simply
- 27:34Speaker 1: because of the cap. I don't know what's gonna happen
- 27:36Speaker 1: with the cap yet, and I know Shawan Bain is
- 27:38Speaker 1: pretty savvy with trying to make loops through this cap
- 27:41Speaker 1: and around it. And if they were able to trade
- 27:43Speaker 1: for the Shawan, yeah, that'd be great because they can
- 27:46Speaker 1: they can figure out all that salary stuff with him.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I just don't know how they're gonna do it. But um,
- 27:51Speaker 1: for sure, I love the Saints and like they're gonna
- 27:53Speaker 1: have great value. I just would never bet on them
- 27:56Speaker 1: for Super Bowl. If I know for a fact it's
- 27:58Speaker 1: tysom Hill as their quarterback, I'd just he just seems
- 28:01Speaker 1: like a gimmick kind of player to me. So from
- 28:03Speaker 1: for me, I'm just staying away from the Saints just
- 28:05Speaker 1: because I just have so much uncertain me what they're
- 28:07Speaker 1: gonna do with such a bad cap. Look like they're
- 28:10Speaker 1: they're the worst team. I'm pretty sure in cap like
- 28:13Speaker 1: they're over I don't know what it was. It was
- 28:14Speaker 1: like thirty million or forty millions, but their way over
- 28:16Speaker 1: the cap right now. Yeah, you're essentially that's what that's
- 28:21Speaker 1: where some of the value is coming. You know, in
- 28:23Speaker 1: the odds like New Warwick. Everyone's kind of looking at
- 28:25Speaker 1: New Orleans and saying, how are they going to get
- 28:27Speaker 1: it done? But you've got to mention it there they
- 28:30Speaker 1: are savviier than most teams. And I think the big
- 28:33Speaker 1: thing for me with New Orleans is that even if
- 28:36Speaker 1: they have to, like all of the teams are going
- 28:38Speaker 1: to kind of struggle with the cap to a certain
- 28:40Speaker 1: extent um, But I just think New Orleans is in
- 28:43Speaker 1: better position regardless of what happens at the quarterback position.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Like I think I think they've shown that they can
- 28:49Speaker 1: win with Taysom Hill, and that's big. You know that
- 28:52Speaker 1: that that's a big deal. I think, um, because you
- 28:55Speaker 1: know this is the team that around him. They're gonna
- 28:58Speaker 1: be again, they're gonna be well coached, they're gonna play
- 29:00Speaker 1: so um, even if it was tastam, I wouldn't be
- 29:02Speaker 1: too worried about about New Orleans. So yeah, I'm on
- 29:05Speaker 1: him for the first time in like the decade. I
- 29:08Speaker 1: like that Seattle idea because Seattle is one of those
- 29:11Speaker 1: teams whatever Russell Wilson is talking. There's so much talk
- 29:13Speaker 1: about Russell Wilson potentially getting traded that it automatically depresses
- 29:19Speaker 1: the value. So you're able to sneak in because the
- 29:21Speaker 1: chances are he's not going to be traded, um, And
- 29:24Speaker 1: so you're getting a really good team that could win.
- 29:27Speaker 1: You know, they're not being considered one of those teams
- 29:29Speaker 1: that would win the NFC West because of what the
- 29:31Speaker 1: Rams did and everyone assuming the Niners will get better
- 29:34Speaker 1: and because of Kyler Murray being more competitive. Whatever that's sneaky.
- 29:38Speaker 1: That's like, I like it. I like it right back. Yeah,
- 29:42Speaker 1: it's a lot of drama though, a lot of drama
- 29:44Speaker 1: right now in seattles. That's that's definitely something I guts
- 29:46Speaker 1: to give you pause. Especially k Metcalth and Russell Wilson.
- 29:50Speaker 1: They both even I think lock it to all complained
- 29:53Speaker 1: about the offense and this season, so hopefully they come
- 29:56Speaker 1: in they revamped the offense because last year that offense,
- 29:59Speaker 1: I mean that was embarrassed and all they would do
- 30:01Speaker 1: is just take deep shots or then running up the middle.
- 30:03Speaker 1: It was one of those they just got super bland,
- 30:05Speaker 1: super boring towards end of the year. So I love
- 30:08Speaker 1: the value as well. I mean, Russell Wilson, anytime you
- 30:10Speaker 1: get into that kind of value to win a Super Bowl,
- 30:12Speaker 1: that's good value. So I'm not bending personally, but I
- 30:14Speaker 1: do I do understand what's saying that's good value on
- 30:16Speaker 1: him and and and when you start looking at the
- 30:19Speaker 1: division odds too, because I want to talk about the
- 30:21Speaker 1: division adds a little. You know, I know we're mostly
- 30:23Speaker 1: focusing on on Super Bowl and conference, but you know
- 30:27Speaker 1: those are obviously long shot bets. But um, you know,
- 30:29Speaker 1: Seattle's third to win the division at plus two seventy
- 30:33Speaker 1: five to win the NFC West at Draftking Sports Book,
- 30:36Speaker 1: the Rams are uh plus one eighty, the Niners are
- 30:38Speaker 1: plus two ten uh. And then the Saints over in
- 30:42Speaker 1: the NFC South, even though you know we've they've shown
- 30:45Speaker 1: that they can win with quarterbacks who are not Drew Brees,
- 30:48Speaker 1: uh their their second. But the Bucks are minus one
- 30:51Speaker 1: thirty four the Saints are plus two twenty. So both
- 30:54Speaker 1: of those are like some kind of you know, you're
- 30:57Speaker 1: still getting some some good juice and some odds for
- 31:01Speaker 1: something that's I think almost fifty fifty UM to hit.
- 31:05Speaker 1: And you're getting really good odds here with the Saint
- 31:07Speaker 1: because they, you know, they've shown that they can win
- 31:09Speaker 1: just as many games as the Bucks even with without quarterbacks.
- 31:12Speaker 1: In the end, the Seahawks they don't ever finish with
- 31:14Speaker 1: losing records with Russell Wilson, which automatically gives them such
- 31:17Speaker 1: a high floor in these division odds, so Seahawks plus
- 31:20Speaker 1: two seventy plus two twenty to win their respective divisions.
- 31:24Speaker 1: I love as well, Simon says, there's too much drama.
- 31:27Speaker 1: We love the drama. That's why we bet on the
- 31:30Speaker 1: Washington football team at sixty two one. It's why we
- 31:33Speaker 1: might take a flyer on the Raiders at fifty to one.
- 31:37Speaker 1: It's why we're gonna bet on Seattle at two to one,
- 31:41Speaker 1: or even on the Saints at nineteen to one. I
- 31:44Speaker 1: like all those I like everything everyone just said. I'm
- 31:46Speaker 1: spreading it out. I'm putting money on every one of
- 31:49Speaker 1: these things like they are a pack of Top Shot.
- 31:52Speaker 1: That's what I'm doing. Hey, that's a really smooth transition
- 31:57Speaker 1: speaking of Top Shot, Simon, as we learned in our
- 32:01Speaker 1: previous podcasts with Darren and about sort of the card
- 32:05Speaker 1: movement and with Jack Settlement about the Top Shot movement,
- 32:10Speaker 1: we are transitioning from our NFL Futures conversation. You are deep,
- 32:14Speaker 1: deep into top Shot. You are deep deep into the
- 32:17Speaker 1: collection of memorabilia like cards. You and Darren did a
- 32:22Speaker 1: lockbox Pokemon opening live on the Action Network Candle two
- 32:27Speaker 1: things that we're not in there because Darren was too impatient, Explain, reveal,
- 32:33Speaker 1: Reveal what's been discovered. Being Darren Dale a little show
- 32:36Speaker 1: where basically I was just going through old cards that
- 32:39Speaker 1: I hadn't touched in like twenty years, and there were
- 32:42Speaker 1: a lot. So Darren was get a little impatient because
- 32:44Speaker 1: I wasn't pulling out the hundred thousand dollar card, which
- 32:47Speaker 1: is what he wanted because it's Darren. But I kept
- 32:49Speaker 1: going through it and I'm gonna show him right now.
- 32:52Speaker 1: The thing that matters is the first addition symbol. That's
- 32:55Speaker 1: what people want to say, I don't know. So I
- 32:57Speaker 1: got two of them there called chars are basically charges.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Ard was this Pokemon that was like a dragon and
- 33:03Speaker 1: people are really into him in the nineties he was
- 33:05Speaker 1: like the biggest Pokemon. So this card, now, I'm just
- 33:08Speaker 1: gonna send it out to get graded and I'll show people,
- 33:10Speaker 1: now what grading card looks like. This right here is
- 33:12Speaker 1: a p S A ten card, So that's what I'm
- 33:14Speaker 1: looking for, Like that's the dream. Basically, I'm gonna send
- 33:17Speaker 1: these out, which is always scary as hell because it's
- 33:20Speaker 1: if these are grade attends, they're both worth four und
- 33:23Speaker 1: dollars right now in the current market. Just looking at him.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I haven't taken him out because I'm so scary to
- 33:28Speaker 1: even touch him with my bare hands. The one is
- 33:30Speaker 1: definitely gonna be at least a nine are below the
- 33:33Speaker 1: other one is is legitimate, So I'm gonna send these
- 33:36Speaker 1: out if if they come back graded one. If at
- 33:38Speaker 1: least one of them is at ten. It's a four
- 33:40Speaker 1: dre thousand dollar card, which is pretty crazy. You said
- 33:42Speaker 1: I wouldn't sell it, but I just honestly wouldn't because
- 33:44Speaker 1: what we've seen from the market is even when these
- 33:46Speaker 1: things go down and value, when people say that the
- 33:48Speaker 1: bubbles have burst, it always rebounds. It always comes back.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Hobbies never die out, and Pokemon has one of the
- 33:54Speaker 1: most loyal, die hard fan bases in the world. So
- 33:57Speaker 1: for me, this is a long term investment where if
- 33:59Speaker 1: something I need to buy a new house or do whatever,
- 34:02Speaker 1: I can sell a Pokemon card to do that, which
- 34:04Speaker 1: is pretty crazy to say. That's an interesting take, Raybon.
- 34:07Speaker 1: We were talking a little bit about this before, Like
- 34:10Speaker 1: you you loved Chard, would you if you knew you
- 34:17Speaker 1: had a four hundred thousand dollar Charis, would you may
- 34:20Speaker 1: because you said you've kept him as well, would you
- 34:22Speaker 1: sell it? I doubt. I doubt it. Mine. Mine is
- 34:24Speaker 1: definitely not meant so uh, I probably would if I
- 34:27Speaker 1: had kept it in meant to be honest, I mean,
- 34:30Speaker 1: but like mine is just kind of I don't it's
- 34:32Speaker 1: just it's it's in decent condition, but I doubt it's
- 34:34Speaker 1: anywhere close. But my questions time and it's like, so
- 34:37Speaker 1: you you actually send it out like you keep it.
- 34:39Speaker 1: I'd fly there and I would stay for a week
- 34:41Speaker 1: and great a ton of cards. The only reason I'm
- 34:44Speaker 1: doing this right now is that I'm not that I'm impatient.
- 34:48Speaker 1: It's just I don't even want to have them. Like
- 34:49Speaker 1: I had him in my I put him in my bank,
- 34:52Speaker 1: like I put him in a lockbox, and I took
- 34:54Speaker 1: him out just for the show. I just hate having him.
- 34:56Speaker 1: So I really want to go get him. I just
- 34:57Speaker 1: want to get him. Great if I just put him
- 34:59Speaker 1: back in there, because I just even having him around,
- 35:01Speaker 1: because it's just like it's it's just too much anxiety
- 35:04Speaker 1: of like something that's worth this much. That's just a
- 35:07Speaker 1: stupid card. It's just like blowing my mind. So that's
- 35:09Speaker 1: why normally I would fly out, but I'm I'm comfortable
- 35:12Speaker 1: doing the whole mailing it in because I've never lost
- 35:14Speaker 1: a card, and I know people have. I never have,
- 35:16Speaker 1: so I literally do it pretty simple. I just put
- 35:19Speaker 1: it in like a birthday card kind of thing, and
- 35:20Speaker 1: I mail it in. It's super simple, super basic, and
- 35:22Speaker 1: no one suspect that there's eight hundred thousand, uh maybe
- 35:26Speaker 1: being mailed in a birthday card. My question is, wait,
- 35:29Speaker 1: when Nate, when you ship it and they ask you,
- 35:31Speaker 1: like what the value of it for like insurance purposes,
- 35:35Speaker 1: Like what do you tell them? I would like to
- 35:36Speaker 1: hear you Grard's opinion, because I've done it before with
- 35:38Speaker 1: not doing anything. I didn't have a problem, and one
- 35:40Speaker 1: time I did. I think it was like, what was
- 35:44Speaker 1: that a thousand dollar insurance or whatever it was? Maybe
- 35:46Speaker 1: it was a hundred because it was five years ago,
- 35:48Speaker 1: but it was basically it was a Lebron James rookie card.
- 35:52Speaker 1: It was lost, Like to get him from that place
- 35:54Speaker 1: to the p s A to get graded took over
- 35:56Speaker 1: like a month and that was awful, but it came
- 35:59Speaker 1: back no problem. Like when they mailed out it was
- 36:01Speaker 1: here in for three or four, two or three days
- 36:03Speaker 1: wherever it was. For these ones, I'm actually not going
- 36:06Speaker 1: to ensure because I just don't want to do any suspicion.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I literally act like a million a birthday card while
- 36:10Speaker 1: I go in there. So it might sound stupid and risky,
- 36:13Speaker 1: but I feel like that's how you get away with
- 36:15Speaker 1: things the less suspicious, that the easier is to get
- 36:18Speaker 1: get away with things calculated risks. I see you, I
- 36:21Speaker 1: see you, But what is your what is your concern
- 36:23Speaker 1: that like someone if they know it's insured from the
- 36:27Speaker 1: post office or from you. It's weird times right now, man, Yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 1: because everything going on baseball cards and everything, even Pokemon
- 36:34Speaker 1: cards as well. It's not that I don't trust the
- 36:36Speaker 1: U S. Mail Service. I know, like everything that goes
- 36:38Speaker 1: on with them, But what's it to them? This guy
- 36:41Speaker 1: could open this up if it's nothing, he can just
- 36:43Speaker 1: reseal it and mail it. If he opens up and
- 36:44Speaker 1: finds these two chargs rds, hey, he'll give me my
- 36:47Speaker 1: thousand dollar insurance whatever I paid them for the insurance
- 36:49Speaker 1: of it. It's just that's just the reason why I
- 36:51Speaker 1: like to be shady about it. I like to just
- 36:53Speaker 1: not to bring it into it because you never know
- 36:54Speaker 1: what people's intentions are. And that's my only wordy with it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: So that's why I just kind of do a little shady.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I think I would put it in like I would
- 37:00Speaker 1: do the birthday card thing, but I would like put
- 37:03Speaker 1: it in a box with like something like like vitamins
- 37:06Speaker 1: or something like where like something like because like I swear,
- 37:09Speaker 1: like you know, during the pandemic, I started ordering a lot,
- 37:12Speaker 1: like a ton of stuff online and I would say,
- 37:13Speaker 1: like one out of every like four or five packages
- 37:17Speaker 1: is like Camper with like they definitely they definitely fun
- 37:20Speaker 1: with packages out here. Yeah, I know, Like that's that's
- 37:23Speaker 1: why I might not mail it. But like right now,
- 37:25Speaker 1: as I stand, I'm probably going to mail them. Then
- 37:27Speaker 1: we'll see, because like right now, the more we talk
- 37:29Speaker 1: about the more I'm just like, he's probably right. Why
- 37:31Speaker 1: do I just wait a year or two and then
- 37:33Speaker 1: just fly out and get them great? Because I'm in
- 37:35Speaker 1: no rush, So we'll see. I might not mail. I
- 37:37Speaker 1: just feel like it would be cool in like a
- 37:39Speaker 1: month or two to bring them on the show and
- 37:40Speaker 1: show what they got. Great. Guys. It happens in Connecticut
- 37:43Speaker 1: to My wife ordered probiotics and when they got delivered,
- 37:48Speaker 1: she opened the package and the probiotics were not in there.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Can you believe that in the middle of Connecticut someone
- 37:56Speaker 1: stole her probiotics. Yeah, it's just such a high volume
- 38:00Speaker 1: nowadays of of things getting shipped. I think that, like
- 38:03Speaker 1: the volume of things going missing. Obviously, we're gonna increase,
- 38:06Speaker 1: right with it. Like I don't know if the actual
- 38:07Speaker 1: percentage is going up, but it just seems like me
- 38:11Speaker 1: and more and more people I know are you know,
- 38:13Speaker 1: every once in a while you get that package that's
- 38:15Speaker 1: either tampered with or something's missing, or something it just
- 38:17Speaker 1: never arrives or something like that. So yeah, man, I'm
- 38:20Speaker 1: just a little nervous for you, Simon. So oh no,
- 38:22Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. I'm not gonna. I'm like, you're
- 38:25Speaker 1: in southern New Jersey two of the grading houses. Yeah,
- 38:32Speaker 1: like just over there. Like I've done that stuff in
- 38:35Speaker 1: the past. But it's like a process, like you literally
- 38:38Speaker 1: you take it on Tuesday at a certain time, and
- 38:40Speaker 1: then you have to come back Thursday at a certain
- 38:42Speaker 1: time to get it professional better. On football, you have
- 38:45Speaker 1: nothing else to do. Your your calendar is the only
- 38:48Speaker 1: thing you have. On Tuesday and Thursday, record this podcast
- 38:52Speaker 1: at one thirty on Tuesday, Record this podcast at eleven
- 38:56Speaker 1: am on Thursday, yeah, nothing else going on, uh, baring
- 39:00Speaker 1: bodies in my backyard. And then too, it's serf season
- 39:03Speaker 1: in New Jersey, so I'm getting some good waves, bro.
- 39:05Speaker 1: But yeah, I know I have no excuse. Maybe you
- 39:08Speaker 1: can kind of you know, burying bodies. You can kind
- 39:10Speaker 1: of ship it like a cofin like like they did
- 39:12Speaker 1: with the coke in the eighties. Just put it in
- 39:14Speaker 1: a coffin by it. I might mail it in a
- 39:17Speaker 1: bunch of socks. Who's gonna steal socks? That might be?
- 39:20Speaker 1: I would, I would, I would put it with like
- 39:22Speaker 1: something completely inconspicuous and just do it that way, just
- 39:24Speaker 1: like you know, throwing for throwing for a loop, because
- 39:27Speaker 1: you know who's gonna sunk with like some socks. He's
- 39:29Speaker 1: gonna open the box, like why did this guy mailing
- 39:31Speaker 1: socks and cars ard cards? You gotta put it like
- 39:33Speaker 1: a box in a box in the box, in a
- 39:35Speaker 1: box in a box. So I just like, it's just
- 39:37Speaker 1: too much work. It's just too much work to tamper
- 39:39Speaker 1: with you, like your socks, Simon, Before we go, Before
- 39:43Speaker 1: we go, I do listen. If we don't hit top shot,
- 39:46Speaker 1: then we are not doing our duty in the speculative space.
- 39:50Speaker 1: As a content engine and top shot we have to
- 39:53Speaker 1: cover and discuss. So simon, you uh saved your most
- 39:57Speaker 1: recent top shot pack and you're going to an opening
- 40:01Speaker 1: on the podcast. This is going to be a viral
- 40:03Speaker 1: sensation on the internet. So share your screen and let's

- 40:31Speaker 1: we go. No wammies, no ammy's. Let's seem in number five.
- 40:37Speaker 1: True holiday, No one cares. That is a bummer. No,
- 40:42Speaker 1: I loved your holiday. Steph Curry, this is a thirty thousand.
- 40:51Speaker 1: This is my third Gordon Draggage base set. That's hilarious. Good. Oh,
- 40:58Speaker 1: here we go, carry rare dump. Wow, that's a nice pool. Right, yeah,

- 41:10Speaker 1: I'm not selling any of these just because I'm just
- 41:12Speaker 1: gonna hold him, um until we really know what the
- 41:14Speaker 1: hell is going on here? Oh this is a good back.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I got that same one. Do you really this that's
- 41:21Speaker 1: a really good one. How many? Yeah? I was gonna
- 41:25Speaker 1: say how many are in this one? I had texts
- 41:30Speaker 1: Now I have this Colin Sexton too. I think you
- 41:32Speaker 1: got the same pack I got. I wonder if the
- 41:34Speaker 1: next one is gonna be Terrence Ross. This is the
- 41:36Speaker 1: last one, ship j oh Tatum. I like that one.
- 41:44Speaker 1: D That was a good pack. Ye, I won't be
- 41:46Speaker 1: a good back. Steph Curry was a really nice one.
- 41:52Speaker 1: You got a rare r J and Steph Curry and
- 41:55Speaker 1: Ben Simmons. R J is a dump too, which is
- 41:57Speaker 1: pretty sweet. And then I got it Ben Simmons seeing,
- 42:00Speaker 1: which is a good one. All right, I don't know
- 42:02Speaker 1: that good. I don't know if you're not. You wanted more?
- 42:07Speaker 1: I wanted more. I think I told Dryball. My first
- 42:09Speaker 1: pack in January is one of the special packs. It
- 42:11Speaker 1: was five dollars for twenty four cards. Wow, so they
- 42:16Speaker 1: obviously have changed that a lot. I just paid a
- 42:18Speaker 1: hundred ninety nine for nine cards, so they've definitely been
- 42:22Speaker 1: changing the price range. My last pack I paid fourteen dollars.
- 42:26Speaker 1: There were two hundred and twenty five thousand people online
- 42:29Speaker 1: and they were giving away sixty one tho packs. I
- 42:31Speaker 1: was randomly assigned fifty seven thousand. I got Ben Simmons,
- 42:35Speaker 1: Colin Sexton, and Terrence Ross. So are you jealous? In
- 42:38Speaker 1: my pack? A little bit got all his bad players,
- 42:42Speaker 1: except he just got a whole bunch of good ones
- 42:44Speaker 1: on top of that. Yeah, exactly. I think I think
- 42:47Speaker 1: we covered it all. We covered NFL features. I will
- 42:49Speaker 1: recap that Raybon is totally into the Saints in Seattle.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Simon is totally into the Washington football team and maybe
- 42:57Speaker 1: taking a flyer on the Raiders because they can get
- 42:58Speaker 1: to Shaun Watson. We ran through your four hundred thousand
- 43:01Speaker 1: dollar two times, Charlizard, and we opened a pack. That
- 43:05Speaker 1: is a full That is a full podcast, folks. This
