- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome into jag Zam this morning. Kunti Stephens, Brian Sexiston,
- 0:19Speaker 1: John Osier with you today and for the first time
- 0:21Speaker 1: in about two months, we don't have a victory Monday
- 0:23Speaker 1: to discuss. The Jaguars bow out in the wildcard round
- 0:26Speaker 1: to the Buffalo Bills, a frustrating loss and a sad
- 0:30Speaker 1: end to the season and the last we're gonna go
- 0:32Speaker 1: over everything that went down this year, and we'll go
- 0:33Speaker 1: over everything that went down on Sunday. We'll bring you
- 0:35Speaker 1: our Big Things today, brought to you by GEAJ Government
- 0:38Speaker 1: Employees Health Association. Big Thing number one of the first
- 0:41Speaker 1: round to exit. The Jaguars were able to win the
- 0:43Speaker 1: AC South Crown and host a playoff game here, but
- 0:46Speaker 1: they weren't able to come away with a win, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: Trevor talked about a missed opportunity.
- 0:51Speaker 2: It's hard to get here.
- 0:52Speaker 3: It's hard to win as many games as we did
- 0:54Speaker 3: and win the division and then have this opportunity. And
- 0:58Speaker 3: like I said, for you know, it's it's still fresh
- 1:00Speaker 3: losing that game today. And like I said, you know,
- 1:03Speaker 3: we feel like, you know, we can beat anyone on
- 1:05Speaker 3: any day, and felt like that today in Buffalo, Like
- 1:09Speaker 3: I said, made a few more plays, so that's still
- 1:11Speaker 3: fresh and not even really thinking about next year. I
- 1:13Speaker 3: have so much confidence in this group and the staff
- 1:17Speaker 3: in the direction we're heading, but that doesn't make you
- 1:19Speaker 3: feel better about the season ending the day when we
- 1:21Speaker 3: know we feel like there was more out there for us.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So it's still really really disappointing. And you know, guys
- 1:27Speaker 3: care a lot about it, and that's why we're all
- 1:29Speaker 3: feeling this way.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Brian, a lot of promising things. I think we all
- 1:32Speaker 1: feel the foundation has been laid, but the playoffs are
- 1:35Speaker 1: not promised, and we don't know what it'll look like
- 1:37Speaker 1: next season.
- 1:38Speaker 2: No, and you know, jag Wars just got back here
- 1:40Speaker 2: for the first time since twenty twenty two, before that,
- 1:42Speaker 2: twenty seventeen, before that two thousand and seven. I think
- 1:46Speaker 2: that this will be a much more sustainable formula going forward,
- 1:49Speaker 2: based on my confidence in Tony Biselli, James Gladstone, and
- 1:52Speaker 2: Liam Cohen, and then of course what they were able
- 1:55Speaker 2: to do to reignite Trevor Lawrence's career this year. So
- 2:00Speaker 2: remorseful John for the opportunity lost, but I have a
- 2:03Speaker 2: hard time feeling really low about the fact that the
- 2:06Speaker 2: season's over because they gave so much this year. They
- 2:09Speaker 2: exceeded expectations.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it's one of those you don't want to see end.
- 2:14Speaker 4: If you pull back and look at it from somebody
- 2:16Speaker 4: who's like followed the league and figured out what this
- 2:19Speaker 4: might mean, the foundation is definitely laid and I think
- 2:22Speaker 4: you're gonna have a lot of success moving forward. I
- 2:25Speaker 4: think Trevor Lawrence is going to continue to ascend into
- 2:29Speaker 4: elite status.
- 2:30Speaker 2: But it sucks.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I mean this feeling in your gut, you're sick to
- 2:36Speaker 4: your stomach. And it has been so fun to follow
- 2:41Speaker 4: this team from people who cover it, from people who
- 2:44Speaker 4: follow it, because they're so likable and they could tell
- 2:47Speaker 4: the team was having fun. These are one of those
- 2:49Speaker 4: seasons that it's why you're a fan. And when the
- 2:53Speaker 4: season ends, it ban fast and through the very empty feeling.
- 3:01Speaker 4: It's a sad day.
- 3:02Speaker 2: If there's anything that sucks, it's the fact that the
- 3:05Speaker 2: city was so amazingly energized behind this team last week.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It didn't matter where you went, the dog parked, the beach, public's,
- 3:11Speaker 2: the car wash. Everyone wanted to talk about what this
- 3:14Speaker 2: team was and every school had their kids on Friday
- 3:17Speaker 2: in Jaguar's Spirit mode, all wearing teal black and gold,
- 3:20Speaker 2: and that energy. Well, you saw it in the building yesterday.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I mean it was just as good as it's ever been.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And that's the part that really sucks that there isn't
- 3:28Speaker 2: another week of that.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yep, frustrating and for sure we're going to go to
- 3:31Speaker 1: our second big thing, which is a step above, no
- 3:35Speaker 1: doubt about it. We knew Josh Allen could put on
- 3:37Speaker 1: his cape and play Superman, and he's a talent that
- 3:40Speaker 1: we have seen throughout the league and we definitely saw
- 3:42Speaker 1: it on display yesterday. Liam Cohne talked a little bit
- 3:44Speaker 1: about it.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Such a competitor, you know. The balls, Yeah, he was
- 3:49Speaker 5: spitting it out pretty good obviously, you know, scrambled enough times,
- 3:54Speaker 5: but he just kind of drifting away knowing he's going
- 3:57Speaker 5: to get hit making a play. I thought he threw
- 4:01Speaker 5: obviously extremely accurately as well. And they just made some
- 4:05Speaker 5: plays in the past game specifically. I don't know what
- 4:08Speaker 5: the run stats were, what we held them to or
- 4:10Speaker 5: anything like that, but you know, he definitely carried them.
- 4:16Speaker 1: John Josh Allen in and out of the medical ten,
- 4:18Speaker 1: still finding ways to score the football and no mistakes,
- 4:22Speaker 1: which I think was key in a playoff game.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Yeah, we overused the phrase carry a team for a quarterback.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Everybody used it, Oh can he do this? Can you
- 4:33Speaker 6: do that?
- 4:34Speaker 4: Josh Allen's one of the few guys who can. He
- 4:36Speaker 4: carried the Bills yesterday. If you were a Bills fan,
- 4:40Speaker 4: if you're a Josh Allen fan, that's a legacy game,
- 4:43Speaker 4: meaning he picked him up. He brought them from behind
- 4:46Speaker 4: twice in the fourth quarter. He made his plays. They
- 4:48Speaker 4: won on the road. You know, got the cameras on
- 4:50Speaker 4: and coming off the field, he's limping, he's doing all that.
- 4:54Speaker 4: He's an unbelievable player and he was the difference on Sunday, Brian.
- 4:57Speaker 2: The only chance the Jaguars had to win that ball
- 4:59Speaker 2: game was to stopped the run, and man did they.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I mean they shut down that entire number one ranked
- 5:05Speaker 2: rushing offense. There was no significant runs outside of the
- 5:10Speaker 2: fourth down conversion by Josh Allen that set up the
- 5:12Speaker 2: go ahead touchdown that eventually won the game. They took
- 5:15Speaker 2: it away completely. And so what does a great quarterback
- 5:18Speaker 2: do completes twenty eight to thirty five passes. You know,
- 5:21Speaker 2: the big thirty six yard are down the field and
- 5:23Speaker 2: the broken coverage that Brandon Cooks was able to pull in.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You took one thing away, he said, I'll do this.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Then that's what great players, Hall of Fame players, MVPs
- 5:33Speaker 2: do in playoff games.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Absolutely, let's took our final big thing today, which is
- 5:37Speaker 1: what's next. The season is over, but we're looking ahead
- 5:40Speaker 1: and what this team might look like going forward. Josh
- 5:42Speaker 1: heinz Allen reflected on the season and what he's expecting
- 5:45Speaker 1: going forward.
- 5:46Speaker 7: Again, this was the one of the first times where
- 5:48Speaker 7: I felt surrounded by guys that wanted to be great,
- 5:51Speaker 7: guys that sacrificed them body, Guys that wanted greatness from
- 5:55Speaker 7: their teammates and told them about it and sacrificed themselves
- 5:58Speaker 7: about it. And so for me, it was a lot
- 6:00Speaker 7: of fun to be around a lot of that. Obviously,
- 6:02Speaker 7: the team's gonna be a little different, but again, like
- 6:06Speaker 7: you know, you do come back, or if you do
- 6:09Speaker 7: come back, man, just let's continue that. Let's not forget
- 6:12Speaker 7: this moment, continue to grow from here. We just played
- 6:14Speaker 7: a good team, So shout out to them. They earned
- 6:18Speaker 7: it and hopefully you know, they do what they do.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Brian, we saw the buy in since Liam Cohen has
- 6:25Speaker 1: gotten here, how do you continue that moving forward?
- 6:28Speaker 2: You know, to Josh's point and to your question, there
- 6:30Speaker 2: was a moment in the practice field this week this year, John,
- 6:33Speaker 2: where I saw Eric Armstead walk out with a club
- 6:35Speaker 2: on his hand, and Trayvon Walker walk out with a
- 6:37Speaker 2: huge brace on his wrist and the brace on his knee,
- 6:41Speaker 2: and Danny Strigg out with the brace on his knee.
- 6:43Speaker 2: When Josh talks about guys sacrificing, that's what he's talking about.
- 6:46Speaker 2: They were willing to do whatever it took for them
- 6:49Speaker 2: to be on the field to help their teammates. That's
- 6:52Speaker 2: really the standard that was set this year. The culture
- 6:55Speaker 2: that was developed. There are tangible signs of it. There's
- 7:00Speaker 2: some big decisions that have to be made, obviously, Traves
- 7:03Speaker 2: Etn Devin Lloyd, there are some other guys on the
- 7:07Speaker 2: roster that maybe were not considering that. The Jaguars will
- 7:10Speaker 2: look at their salary cap figure and their contract and
- 7:12Speaker 2: figure it out. But the path that's set. Leam Cohen
- 7:15Speaker 2: set the standard, James Gladstone, Tony Biselli, the three of
- 7:18Speaker 2: them set the standard, and then the Jaguars went improved
- 7:21Speaker 2: it week in and week out. This year. I think
- 7:23Speaker 2: what's next is now fine tuning the roster to get
- 7:26Speaker 2: the team that they really want together for twenty twenty six.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think the key is they're not going
- 7:33Speaker 4: to look at this and say, Okay, we were thirteen
- 7:36Speaker 4: and four. All we've got to do is it is
- 7:39Speaker 4: just maintained. We'll get back to Every player said it.
- 7:42Speaker 4: It's the reality. Once this is over, you have to
- 7:45Speaker 4: get back to the bottom and call your way back
- 7:47Speaker 4: to the top again every year. I do think they'll
- 7:49Speaker 4: have that mentality. The biggest thing is, look, I don't
- 7:54Speaker 4: think Sunday was Trevor's best game of the season. He
- 7:57Speaker 4: played well, brought he brought him back to But I
- 8:02Speaker 4: don't think there's any question if you're watching this team
- 8:05Speaker 4: that you have a quarterback that you can win with.
- 8:07Speaker 4: You have a quarterback that you would not be surprised
- 8:09Speaker 4: if he's in the postseason every year moving forward. As
- 8:13Speaker 4: long as he's around, the window.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Will be open.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Says here on Jagsam. Coming up after the break, we're
- 8:18Speaker 1: gonna look at the tape from wild card weekend against
- 8:21Speaker 1: the Bills. Shags fans, if you want customize Shaguarts furniture

- 8:42Speaker 6: Regret not taking the points of field going not at all.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Not at all. I mean it's not even a close decision.
- 8:48Speaker 5: It was all go for it on all the metrics,
- 8:51Speaker 5: and you know, with where you're at down there, that low,
- 8:56Speaker 5: you gotta go for it. I mean fourth down that low,
- 8:59Speaker 5: you're at least feel like you're going to have an
- 9:01Speaker 5: opportunity to stop them and have a field position change
- 9:04Speaker 5: and at the very worst you get the ball back
- 9:07Speaker 5: with good field position and didn't end up working out.
- 9:11Speaker 1: And Coach William going sticking to his guns Monday morning.
- 9:14Speaker 1: So we're gonna obviously Monday morning quarterback as if we
- 9:16Speaker 1: know better, but we are going to look at some
- 9:18Speaker 1: of the tape from yesterday and go over some things
- 9:21Speaker 1: that went right and some things that went wrong. Early
- 9:24Speaker 1: on Trevor through an interception which we haven't seen a
- 9:27Speaker 1: ton of him as a recent so for me and
- 9:31Speaker 1: immediately gets a concern. But I wasn't feeling great after
- 9:35Speaker 1: I saw.
- 9:35Speaker 6: This go down.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Brent Well, we'd heard all week about Sean McDermott's defense
- 9:38Speaker 2: and they have a unique way of replacing safeties and linebackers,
- 9:41Speaker 2: and they're very good at getting the matchups that they want.
- 9:44Speaker 2: And Trevor told us in the post game listen, he
- 9:47Speaker 2: just he was a little bit late on the throat
- 9:48Speaker 2: and that allowed the linebacker to get over there and
- 9:50Speaker 2: get it. And it felt like it was going to
- 9:52Speaker 2: be a different kind of game than we had seen
- 9:53Speaker 2: from Trevor in recent weeks.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Yeah, they got him on that one, but really the
- 9:58Speaker 4: Jags stopped him. It was three to nothing after that
- 10:01Speaker 4: by the early second quarter. That play didn't feel like
- 10:05Speaker 4: I had I had in my key plays for example,
- 10:07Speaker 4: but it was like eight. I mean it was It
- 10:10Speaker 4: didn't feel it changed anything, And I thought, again, I
- 10:14Speaker 4: think that was Trevor's best game. But moving forward, it
- 10:18Speaker 4: didn't feel like that made him gun shy. It didn't
- 10:21Speaker 4: feel like that had much of an effect.
- 10:24Speaker 6: In the NFL.
- 10:25Speaker 4: You're gonna throw thirteen or fourteen interceptions in a year.
- 10:28Speaker 4: That felt to me like, Okay, it was bad, but
- 10:30Speaker 4: he recovered from that.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and especially in the fourth quarter. I mean he
- 10:34Speaker 2: was still gunning the ball over the middle of the
- 10:36Speaker 2: fourth quarter, So that's didn't it just it seemed like
- 10:38Speaker 2: at that moment, Okay, the Bills have something. They've been
- 10:41Speaker 2: watching this and their defense is going to be ready
- 10:43Speaker 2: for him, and it didn't shy. He didn't shy away
- 10:45Speaker 2: from attacking.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Let's take a look at the sequence that led into
- 10:49Speaker 1: the first touchdown that BTJ scored, because Bachiel Touton had
- 10:51Speaker 1: about three runs there, back to back to back where
- 10:55Speaker 1: it was kind of blowing things wide open. I'm sure
- 10:57Speaker 1: that was schemed up specifically by Liam, but John like
- 11:00Speaker 1: away from the run a little bit later. Do you
- 11:01Speaker 1: think that was by design or did the defense kind
- 11:04Speaker 1: of dictate that.
- 11:05Speaker 4: I haven't talked to Liam or anybody to, you know,
- 11:09Speaker 4: find out exactly why. My sense is everybody says, well,
- 11:12Speaker 4: when you run, stick with the run. They do most
- 11:16Speaker 4: of their calling at the line of scrimmage. So I'm
- 11:19Speaker 4: assuming that when they went to the line when they
- 11:23Speaker 4: ran these plays, they had looks that said get to
- 11:26Speaker 4: these plays. When they didn't, I'm assuming that the Bills
- 11:30Speaker 4: were showing a look that said to get to a
- 11:32Speaker 4: different play. The NFL these days, with the running game,
- 11:35Speaker 4: most teams it's not I'm going to turn around and
- 11:38Speaker 4: hand the ball off no matter what you're running, I'm
- 11:40Speaker 4: going to slam it down your throat. I could accept
- 11:44Speaker 4: the criticism getting away from the run, except that they
- 11:47Speaker 4: scored seventeen points on.
- 11:49Speaker 6: Three of their last four possessions. I didn't feel like it.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Was hamstringing their offense not to be running, Although I
- 11:57Speaker 4: would have loved to see more runs.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:00Speaker 4: It'd be interesting to seay if anybody finds out were
- 12:02Speaker 4: the looks there and them just not getting to them.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I doubt that the rand for one hundred and fifty
- 12:06Speaker 2: four yards, right, I mean, they did run the ball
- 12:09Speaker 2: successfully yesterday. I think part of it, John was is
- 12:11Speaker 2: we got to the first possession of the third quarter
- 12:14Speaker 2: and half the quarter was gone. That opening drive by
- 12:17Speaker 2: the Bills ate up, you know, seven and a half
- 12:19Speaker 2: minutes and all of a sudden, now you're starting to
- 12:21Speaker 2: feel like time is going to be of the essence
- 12:24Speaker 2: and you want to make the most of your opportunities.
- 12:26Speaker 2: And let's be honest with you, put the ball in
- 12:28Speaker 2: the hands of the guy who got you there. I mean,
- 12:30Speaker 2: Trevor was so good all season long, and he delivered
- 12:34Speaker 2: field goal, touchdown, touchdown. He gave you the lead with
- 12:37Speaker 2: four minutes left, to play, and so I don't I
- 12:41Speaker 2: get it, everybody. It's easy to Monday morn a quarterback
- 12:43Speaker 2: and say they should have run the ball more. They
- 12:45Speaker 2: ran for one fifty four and they had the lead
- 12:47Speaker 2: with four minutes left to play. I'm not sure that's
- 12:49Speaker 2: entirely correct.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Yeah, And one thing to remember, even when Trevor wasn't
- 12:55Speaker 4: playing physically, meaning stats wise, at a super high level
- 13:00Speaker 4: this year, everything you heard is that he was getting
- 13:04Speaker 4: them in and out of the right places at a
- 13:05Speaker 4: high level.
- 13:06Speaker 6: He was seeing it correctly.
- 13:09Speaker 4: I'm going to assume he was singing it correctly yesterday
- 13:12Speaker 4: and again that the reason they didn't go to the
- 13:13Speaker 4: run more was because the looks were saying to go elsewhere.
- 13:18Speaker 4: And if you go to the run too much, then
- 13:20Speaker 4: that superpower goes away, if you follow me. So I
- 13:24Speaker 4: didn't think at the end, when you score that much
- 13:27Speaker 4: in the second half, I didn't think that costs in
- 13:29Speaker 4: the game.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not do a delicate balance. Let's jump
- 13:32Speaker 1: ahead to that failed fourth down that we talked about early.
- 13:35Speaker 1: We heard Liam addressing we know Liam likes to be aggressive,
- 13:39Speaker 1: he likes to do this quite frequently, that this was
- 13:42Speaker 1: something that the spot that got overturned. They did the
- 13:44Speaker 1: virtual measurement as a whole, about a five minute affair
- 13:47Speaker 1: before they figured out what was going on exactly, but
- 13:49Speaker 1: they ended up failing on fourth down and turning the
- 13:51Speaker 1: ball over and you're deep in the red zone. Pete
- 13:54Speaker 1: Prisco always says, got to take the points right.
- 13:57Speaker 6: Look, HET's older than I am, and.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I know you love to say the points too, but
- 14:00Speaker 1: this is not.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Not That's not how this team's going to do it philosophically.
- 14:08Speaker 6: The analytics, which everybody you know, I answer.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Suation onced last night it was it was chaos over
- 14:14Speaker 4: this in theozone.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Obviously it's keep playing the game, so it should be.
- 14:22Speaker 4: The decision making is based on if we don't get it,
- 14:25Speaker 4: they're at the six. So if you don't get it,
- 14:28Speaker 4: you stop them, they punt and.
- 14:31Speaker 6: You're going in again. That's what it's based on.
- 14:33Speaker 4: That over over time, you will benefit more than you
- 14:37Speaker 4: are hurt if you don't get it. Look, if you
- 14:43Speaker 4: don't like that approach, don't watch this team, because they're
- 14:47Speaker 4: going to do it.
- 14:49Speaker 2: So I felt like they should have kicked it because
- 14:52Speaker 2: it felt like the playoffs and points are at a
- 14:54Speaker 2: premium against a team that you know is going to score.
- 14:57Speaker 2: That's Monday morning Quarterback twenty twenty, hind sight, whatever you
- 14:59Speaker 2: want to say. I felt like, as a guy, you know,
- 15:02Speaker 2: thirty two years into my career, here, I'm old school.
- 15:05Speaker 2: I take the points. Last night, if you watched the
- 15:07Speaker 2: Chargers Patriots again, you saw the exact same scenario. You
- 15:11Speaker 2: have a fourth and goal for the Chargers going in,
- 15:15Speaker 2: and I thought, well, this would be interesting because Jim
- 15:18Speaker 2: Harbaugh decides to do the exact same thing that Liam does.
- 15:20Speaker 2: They come away with no points. Now the Patriots go
- 15:23Speaker 2: back the other way ninety eight yards and they scored
- 15:25Speaker 2: the touchdown. So it didn't work for either team, the
- 15:29Speaker 2: Jaguars or the Chargers last night. You say they're gonna
- 15:32Speaker 2: keep going. I don't doubt you, because Liam Cohen is
- 15:34Speaker 2: going to be an aggressive guy in that scenario. I
- 15:36Speaker 2: do think it's worth pointing out that in the playoffs,
- 15:39Speaker 2: where points are at a premium, you take points.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yeah, both teams would tell you that they would do
- 15:44Speaker 4: it again. Yep, because they would both tell you at
- 15:48Speaker 4: that point the defense has to support the offense not
- 15:51Speaker 4: getting it, get the ball back and go score again.
- 15:53Speaker 2: And that's what it's based on every one did so.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I think there's arguments for both side, but I certainly
- 15:58Speaker 1: was not surprised that they did it, because this is
- 16:00Speaker 1: something we've seen from Lima and he's shown this time.
- 16:02Speaker 2: If you kick the field goal at the end of
- 16:03Speaker 2: the first half, by the way, if you make the
- 16:04Speaker 2: fifty two to fifty four yard field goal at the
- 16:06Speaker 2: end of the half, and that's a moot point. He's
- 16:08Speaker 2: also talked before.
- 16:09Speaker 4: They believe philosophically, when the ball is in our offense's
- 16:14Speaker 4: hand and we have a chance to go for the
- 16:15Speaker 4: kill shot, we're going to do it. And to them
- 16:18Speaker 4: chance to go up fourteen to three, that not a
- 16:22Speaker 4: kill shot, but double digit leading the playoffs. That's the
- 16:25Speaker 4: aggressiveness that they're going to play with.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Well I understand. I mean, I've listened to him enough
- 16:29Speaker 2: this year to know I wasn't surprised at all he
- 16:33Speaker 2: did it. It was just that old guy in the
- 16:35Speaker 2: back of my head, that's a man coach points through the.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Premium here, I'm let's talk a little bit about that
- 16:39Speaker 1: miss field goal because we get so confident in cam
- 16:42Speaker 1: sometimes you remember that these fifty plus yarders are not
- 16:45Speaker 1: chip shots, even though we joke about it little Windy
- 16:48Speaker 1: yesterday and he just he pulled it, and I it's
- 16:52Speaker 1: tough when he goes out there and they all in
- 16:54Speaker 1: the back and forth to try to get to that
- 16:55Speaker 1: point too. With the catch with Parker and getting up
- 16:57Speaker 1: there and spiking the ball and getting one second left
- 17:00Speaker 1: on the clock, and for to lead up to a
- 17:01Speaker 1: missed field goal fell a little deflating heading into halftime,
- 17:04Speaker 1: there was deflating.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I mean, it's.
- 17:08Speaker 6: They left.
- 17:10Speaker 4: I has even called missing at fifty four yard field
- 17:13Speaker 4: goal leaving points in the field that you do expect
- 17:15Speaker 4: him to make it because he's hit so often.
- 17:18Speaker 6: It was a big momentum turn.
- 17:19Speaker 4: If he hits that, the game at the end is
- 17:21Speaker 4: different if they kick a field goal early, if if
- 17:24Speaker 4: if they came.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Back, they got the lead after this. So look, he's
- 17:29Speaker 6: too good.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Nobody in that locker room would tell you that it's
- 17:33Speaker 4: it's Cam's fault for missing from fifty four to fifty
- 17:35Speaker 4: four is always going to be hard, no matter how
- 17:37Speaker 4: power for your leg is.
- 17:38Speaker 2: This guy's going to play fifteen years in the NFL.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I mean, Kim Little is a young man who has
- 17:44Speaker 2: a huge, long career in front of him, He's going
- 17:46Speaker 2: to make more kisses, kick kiss It's going to make
- 17:49Speaker 2: more kicks than he misses. Easy for me to say,
- 17:53Speaker 2: if you go back to the Vegas game, the sixty
- 17:55Speaker 2: eight yard which is the NFL record, that was a
- 17:58Speaker 2: huge lift for this football. They didn't need the lift
- 18:01Speaker 2: at the end of the Titans game, but it was.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I mean, they were kicking their butt, but that was
- 18:07Speaker 2: a great kick and it really provided a lot of energy.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I assume it would have done the exact same thing.
- 18:12Speaker 1: But if some butts right, well it's a late game scoring.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I think it's of note to talk a little bit
- 18:17Speaker 1: about what we've seen from the offense because I feel
- 18:18Speaker 1: like this was a good example. We got a big
- 18:20Speaker 1: catch out of BTJ, and then Parker Washington, who's been
- 18:23Speaker 1: an absolute safety blanket for Trevor Lawrence all year long
- 18:26Speaker 1: and just doing some crazy things. But to get some
- 18:28Speaker 1: big chunk plays out of Brian Thomas Junior, which has
- 18:30Speaker 1: been a role he's kind of been able to fill
- 18:32Speaker 1: the last couple of months once Travis Hunter went out.
- 18:34Speaker 1: That was kind of the role that Brian Thomas Junior
- 18:36Speaker 1: has carved for himself in this offense. And then Parker
- 18:38Speaker 1: Washington just always being where Trevor expects him to be
- 18:41Speaker 1: and coming up with that huge touchdown.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That was a great throw. I mean that goowl. Tony
- 18:45Speaker 2: Romo talked about it on the broadcast. Was put in
- 18:47Speaker 2: the right spot and the fact that Parker was just
- 18:51Speaker 2: ahead of the defensive back there. We've seen him do
- 18:54Speaker 2: this all season long. John, The relationship between Trevor Lawrence
- 18:59Speaker 2: and Parker Washington and is as good as he has
- 19:02Speaker 2: had with any receiver, whether we're talking about Christian Kirk
- 19:05Speaker 2: or Evan Ingram. It's as good as Trevor has had
- 19:08Speaker 2: with any receiver in his professional career.
- 19:10Speaker 6: Parker's really good.
- 19:11Speaker 4: And now there was a play in the first half,
- 19:13Speaker 4: and I forget the exact scenario, but where Trevor threw
- 19:18Speaker 4: and Parker came back like three yards for the ball
- 19:20Speaker 4: really helped the quarterback out probably gets defended if he
- 19:24Speaker 4: doesn't do that.
- 19:26Speaker 2: He when wide.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Receivers coaches coach a wide receiver, fundamentally, they coach him
- 19:33Speaker 4: to play like Parker Washington.
- 19:35Speaker 6: And well, we'll get to the other point later.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Let's look at the Buffalo's next touchdown, which was the
- 19:42Speaker 1: two tight ends kind of combining on that drive where
- 19:44Speaker 1: they had a big chunk play over the middle, and
- 19:47Speaker 1: then obviously Adults Kinkaid comes down with a touchdown. And
- 19:50Speaker 1: that was my point of concern going into this game,
- 19:52Speaker 1: because I know tight ends can kind of get to
- 19:53Speaker 1: the Jags a little bit when they have some miscommunications
- 19:57Speaker 1: on the back end, and those were two guys that
- 19:59Speaker 1: took advantage of it on that Sure, you.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Got to the point in the fourth quarter where both
- 20:03Speaker 4: teams knew what they.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Wanted to do offensively. You had two big.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Time quarterbacks, two teams that were playing an extremely high level,
- 20:11Speaker 4: and they both offensively played like high end professional offenses
- 20:15Speaker 4: and got it done and time ran out.
- 20:18Speaker 2: On the jet. If you go back to the throat
- 20:20Speaker 2: that set up the touchdown there, Foya Luikan missed the
- 20:23Speaker 2: tip by a fraction. I mean, you talk about a
- 20:26Speaker 2: game of inches, Trevor being just shortened the fourth down,
- 20:29Speaker 2: Foyer just missing tipping that ball and not having a
- 20:32Speaker 2: complete it's the little things, and I like you, I
- 20:35Speaker 2: looked at the fourth quarter and I saw that neither
- 20:38Speaker 2: Dawson Knox nor Dalton Kincaid had had a big impact
- 20:42Speaker 2: through the first three quarters of the ball game. And
- 20:44Speaker 2: then just I mean almost q bang bang hear these
- 20:48Speaker 2: guys come and they just do enough to get into
- 20:51Speaker 2: the in.
- 20:52Speaker 6: At crunch time.
- 20:52Speaker 4: You lean on your best and they lean on their best,
- 20:55Speaker 4: and again it was good.
- 20:58Speaker 1: We'll go to Atn's touchdown a well, because I feel
- 21:00Speaker 1: like what gets lost in this because there's so much
- 21:02Speaker 1: scoring in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars took the lead
- 21:04Speaker 1: twice in the fourth quarter too. It's just when it's
- 21:07Speaker 1: bang bang bang, like we're talking about at this point,
- 21:09Speaker 1: where it feels like offenses were making plays that they
- 21:12Speaker 1: knew what they wanted to do. When you're saying they
- 21:13Speaker 1: knew what they wanted to do at that point and
- 21:14Speaker 1: they were making it happen. And Travis y Tan doing
- 21:17Speaker 1: what he's done on the outside all year and kind
- 21:19Speaker 1: of get around the edge and find the end zone.
- 21:21Speaker 2: You know, I think we should point out also the
- 21:22Speaker 2: defense got their first three and out on Josh Allen
- 21:26Speaker 2: josh Heinz Allen sack of Josh Allen's in the fourth quarter,
- 21:30Speaker 2: which helped set up a touchdown, not this one, the
- 21:32Speaker 2: one before that. It was the first time they got
- 21:35Speaker 2: him out three and out And I remember writing down
- 21:37Speaker 2: in my notebook, huge momentum shit, and then of course
- 21:40Speaker 2: you know they go back down and score, and then
- 21:42Speaker 2: Trevor goes back down and score, and I remember writing
- 21:44Speaker 2: down this is really good football. I mean it was.
- 21:47Speaker 2: The playoff games had all been back and forth. This game,
- 21:50Speaker 2: I think you guys have heard, this had four lead
- 21:53Speaker 2: changes in the fourth quarter, which ties the NFL record
- 21:55Speaker 2: which was set on Saturday in the Panthers Rams game.
- 21:59Speaker 2: From post lead changes in the fourth quarter in a
- 22:01Speaker 2: playoff game. It was really good football. As you just said,
- 22:05Speaker 2: the clock just ran up on the track.
- 22:06Speaker 6: This was a classic.
- 22:09Speaker 4: And if the Jaguars had won it, you know there
- 22:11Speaker 4: would be some NFL All of these NFL films did
- 22:15Speaker 4: did greatest games. This was a great playoff game. Trevor
- 22:20Speaker 4: came up big on two guys, the whole offense did.
- 22:24Speaker 4: When two good teams play, one's going to win. And
- 22:27Speaker 4: it doesn't mean the other sucks. It means a good
- 22:30Speaker 4: team for the games.
- 22:32Speaker 1: The Buffalo Bills go down and get there what ended
- 22:34Speaker 1: up being the game winning touchdown. So miscommunications in the
- 22:37Speaker 1: secondary we saw at points I think they were talking
- 22:40Speaker 1: about in the locker room post game. But unfortunate, big
- 22:43Speaker 1: play to Cooks here to set them up pretty close,
- 22:45Speaker 1: and then after kind of going rushing a little bit
- 22:49Speaker 1: and then they let them in and then they kind
- 22:50Speaker 1: of went kind of led a freeway, let.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Them in to score.
- 22:52Speaker 1: So they get get the ball back at that point,
- 22:55Speaker 1: but it felt like they're doing okay. But then it
- 22:58Speaker 1: would be I don't know if it's always miss communications
- 23:00Speaker 1: or just you know, going up against a good team,
- 23:02Speaker 1: but some of those big chunk plays really came back
- 23:04Speaker 1: to fight the Jaguars depos.
- 23:06Speaker 4: There's miscommunications in every secondary, every game at times that
- 23:10Speaker 4: just don't Devin Lloyd had pressure. Josh Allen's throwing off
- 23:15Speaker 4: of his back and he's superman and he flicks it
- 23:21Speaker 4: and he places that pass. Most other quarterbacks in the NFL,
- 23:24Speaker 4: that ball's ten yards short.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I saw Brady but Brandon Cooks on the on the
- 23:28Speaker 2: field pregame and I said, I hope he's an old man.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I mean, he's been around forever a longtime. Jaguars fans
- 23:32Speaker 2: will remember how well he performed against this team when
- 23:35Speaker 2: he was in Houston, and I thought, that guy scares me.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And of course it was him that came down with
- 23:40Speaker 2: that ball. And as you said, there aren't a lot
- 23:42Speaker 2: of quarterbacks that can put that ball on the spot.
- 23:45Speaker 2: If it's just hung up a little bit more, then
- 23:47Speaker 2: perhaps Antonio Johnson or Newsom can get underneath it and
- 23:50Speaker 2: tip it or intercept it.
- 23:51Speaker 4: But Superman, you can't coach this way. But when the
- 23:57Speaker 4: ball is in the air and I saw Cooks, I said,
- 24:00Speaker 4: let him score, because you hoped the way it was
- 24:04Speaker 4: going to me. If the Jags get it back with
- 24:06Speaker 4: about two minutes left, who had the ball to twenty.
- 24:08Speaker 4: I thought they were going to go down at least
- 24:10Speaker 4: get a field goal. The one minute put a little
- 24:12Speaker 4: more pressure. But in the spur of the moment, you
- 24:17Speaker 4: cannot tell the defensive back, Hey, if he catches on
- 24:20Speaker 4: the twenty, let him score. It's countered everything football players
- 24:23Speaker 4: are about. So I get it, but I kind of
- 24:25Speaker 4: hoped he'd missed the tackle.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Ends on this hour note obviously, Travis, excuse me. Trevor
- 24:29Speaker 1: Lawrence intercepted on the final offensive play of the game
- 24:32Speaker 1: for the Jaguars, and it would hope they were going
- 24:36Speaker 1: to be able to pull drive together.
- 24:37Speaker 2: But well, the way of the day, people are pointing
- 24:40Speaker 2: out that Parker Washington comes free. But if you go
- 24:42Speaker 2: back and watch. You can see that Joey Bosa is
- 24:45Speaker 2: bearing down on him and he went to the guy
- 24:47Speaker 2: that came through with so many big clutch catches for
- 24:50Speaker 2: him this year. And it was just a good play
- 24:52Speaker 2: by the defensive back. Put the ball right on the spot.
- 24:55Speaker 2: It wasn't like he threw it to the defensive back.
- 24:58Speaker 2: The defensive back got over the top.
- 25:01Speaker 6: To finish. Times you eat the bear sometimes.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah the barry, Yeah, I guess that's fair. Buffalo Bills
- 25:07Speaker 1: had their day and they earned that one, a hard
- 25:09Speaker 1: fought win on wild Card weekend.
- 25:11Speaker 6: Stay with us.
- 25:12Speaker 1: We'll come up back after the break and give you
- 25:14Speaker 1: our hot takes jag Exam. Hot takes are brought to
- 25:28Speaker 1: you by Firehouse Steps. Uh uh.
- 25:33Speaker 8: Not impressed at all. I mean we didn't get to
- 25:36Speaker 8: w you know, at the end of the day, we
- 25:37Speaker 8: going home. Uh, we don't get to come suit up
- 25:39Speaker 8: the next week. Uh So, man, I don't think anybody
- 25:42Speaker 8: impressed with our performance a day. You know, we came
- 25:44Speaker 8: here to win.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Uh.
- 25:46Speaker 8: All that individual accolades don't even matter, you know, Uh,
- 25:48Speaker 8: whenever you're going home with the loss. We we we
- 25:51Speaker 8: we wanted to win the Super Bowl at the end
- 25:52Speaker 8: of the day. Uh, we we didn't uh go into
- 25:54Speaker 8: the season trying to win a T shirt or just
- 25:57Speaker 8: get to this moment, so uh for us to be
- 25:59Speaker 8: in this moment and that gets it. The next step
- 26:02Speaker 8: wasn't her. So nobody was right about what happened throughout
- 26:05Speaker 8: the game.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Trafsey TN good rushing day on the ground for the team.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Not impressed with that though they didn't get the win,
- 26:11Speaker 1: and that was important releading into that because Brian, I
- 26:14Speaker 1: know you have a hot take force that.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Involves t There are some big decisions that need to
- 26:18Speaker 2: be made, and normally I wouldn't suggest that you would
- 26:21Speaker 2: keep a veteran running back, especially when you drafted two
- 26:24Speaker 2: guys this year in baseil Tutin and la Quin Allen Jr.
- 26:29Speaker 2: But I think in this case that we will see
- 26:31Speaker 2: Travis etn return. The transition tag seems to make a
- 26:34Speaker 2: lot of sense. Instead of the franchise tag, which is
- 26:36Speaker 2: an average of the top five. This is an average
- 26:38Speaker 2: of the top ten and it allows Travis to go
- 26:40Speaker 2: out and check his value in the market and it's
- 26:43Speaker 2: not always been very high for running backs. Get fourteen
- 26:47Speaker 2: touchdowns this year if you count the one that he
- 26:48Speaker 2: had yesterday seven receiving. I thought he was a valuable teammate,
- 26:53Speaker 2: a valuable offensive weapon, and I thought Tuton was good,
- 26:57Speaker 2: but he didn't show me enough for me to think, well,
- 26:59Speaker 2: you can just give him the ball next year. I
- 27:01Speaker 2: think Etn is a guy that the quarterback is comfortable with,
- 27:04Speaker 2: and I think long term they'll be able to figure
- 27:06Speaker 2: out a way to bring him back at a number,
- 27:08Speaker 2: even if it's just for one year, because the transition
- 27:10Speaker 2: tag saves you more than three million dollars from the
- 27:13Speaker 2: franchise tag. I think he's one of those guys, John,
- 27:16Speaker 2: you talk about Devin Lloyd and some other decisions they
- 27:19Speaker 2: have to make. I think he's the easy one because
- 27:21Speaker 2: he was high production on offense for them this year.
- 27:24Speaker 4: I hope so he gives you some things that are
- 27:27Speaker 4: hard to replace. The spent when he's outside and a
- 27:30Speaker 4: few yards down. Feel like he showed in the touchdown yesterday.
- 27:33Speaker 4: He's got a knack for getting in the end zone
- 27:36Speaker 4: that is very valuable.
- 27:38Speaker 6: I wonder if they'll bring him back.
- 27:40Speaker 4: I would not be surprised if they can't, because running
- 27:43Speaker 4: back is such a quote replaceable position. That's what it said.
- 27:47Speaker 4: It's harder to do than my quotes. I hope you're right.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Well, you look at what happened in Philly, right, they
- 27:53Speaker 2: gave the deal to Saquon Barkley, and they had to
- 27:55Speaker 2: after the two thousand yard season. But he wasn't the
- 27:58Speaker 2: same guy this year, from the wear and tear, from
- 28:02Speaker 2: the load, whatever it may be. You just have to
- 28:04Speaker 2: be careful with the running back position. But devalue is
- 28:06Speaker 2: probably not the right word to say, but it's just
- 28:09Speaker 2: not as critical as quarterback, left tackle, wide receiver, defensive back,
- 28:13Speaker 2: pass rusher. So you got to be careful with what
- 28:15Speaker 2: you do. But I think you could make the case
- 28:18Speaker 2: because of his extreme production over eleven hundred yards rushing.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Yesterday he had one hundred and sixteen yards from scrimmage,
- 28:24Speaker 2: which led your football team. He's a really valuable part
- 28:27Speaker 2: of what they do.
- 28:28Speaker 4: We'll see better find what he gives you if you
- 28:31Speaker 4: let it out the door. I went with sometimes hall
- 28:34Speaker 4: of famers beat you, and Josh Allen will be a
- 28:38Speaker 4: Hall of Famer.
- 28:39Speaker 6: He's one of the best two or three quarterbacks I think,
- 28:43Speaker 6: maybe the best.
- 28:44Speaker 4: And I don't say this to diminish to give the Jaguars.
- 28:50Speaker 6: A pass on what happened.
- 28:51Speaker 4: I'm not saying that they shouldn't have done more to
- 28:54Speaker 4: win the game, but there are times where you do
- 28:58Speaker 4: everything you can do in a game and the other
- 29:01Speaker 4: guy makes the play at the end and you just
- 29:04Speaker 4: couldn't stop it. So I guess I'm saying the Jags
- 29:06Speaker 4: fans tried to realize that this was not necessarily a
- 29:13Speaker 4: game that the Jaguars gave away. You go ahead twice
- 29:17Speaker 4: in the fourth quarter. Your quarterback makes big time clutch plays.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Even he didn't play his best, he gave you the
- 29:24Speaker 4: lead twice. This is not a case where the Jaguars,
- 29:28Speaker 4: you know, were at fault for not doing something.
- 29:31Speaker 6: The Hall of Famer did something.
- 29:33Speaker 2: They needed someone to make a big play. If you
- 29:36Speaker 2: go back through the Jaguars playoff history, you know there's
- 29:39Speaker 2: Fred Taylor's ninety yard touchdown run, Jimmy Smith's sixty two
- 29:42Speaker 2: yard touchdown catch, and you know Tony Brackens with a
- 29:44Speaker 2: sack strip on Dan Marino. I mean, you have to
- 29:46Speaker 2: have your big time players make big time plays in
- 29:50Speaker 2: the playoffs, and they didn't get one on defense yesterday
- 29:53Speaker 2: when it mattered the most. Because a Hall of Famer
- 29:55Speaker 2: made one and nobody on the Jags.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Did my hot takes a little forward thing. As we
- 30:00Speaker 1: go into the off season. Now, prepare for some off
- 30:03Speaker 1: season changes. I know there's turnover every single season, but
- 30:06Speaker 1: the last two months have been so fun I've been
- 30:08Speaker 1: caught up in it a little bit myself. These teams
- 30:11Speaker 1: are not the same every year, and this was only
- 30:12Speaker 1: the first year of this new regime. They don't have
- 30:16Speaker 1: their players yet. A lot of these guys were part
- 30:19Speaker 1: of past regimes, drafted by past gms, and I think
- 30:23Speaker 1: we're going to see a lot more overhaul than you
- 30:24Speaker 1: may expect, because while they were going in and doing
- 30:28Speaker 1: what they could late with the draft and free agency,
- 30:31Speaker 1: they're going to want to build this their way going forward.
- 30:34Speaker 1: And while we were fortunate to see a really great
- 30:36Speaker 1: season of thirteen and four that was above expectations I had,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and I think going into next year there may be
- 30:43Speaker 1: some consideration of the long term goal versus the short
- 30:46Speaker 1: term goal. I'm sure they still want to win football games.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I'm sure they still want to win the division, but
- 30:50Speaker 1: I think it's going to be focused on getting the
- 30:52Speaker 1: right players in place and giving them time to play,
- 30:55Speaker 1: whether that's rookies or otherwise, and some of the names
- 30:58Speaker 1: you know very well may not be here next year
- 31:01Speaker 1: via trade or otherwise.
- 31:02Speaker 2: When you go thirteen and four, you buy the political capital,
- 31:05Speaker 2: for lack of a better word, of the grace to
- 31:07Speaker 2: be able to do what you want to do. And
- 31:09Speaker 2: I think there are a lot of people in this
- 31:10Speaker 2: building and outside of the John that will say, if
- 31:13Speaker 2: that's what you delivered without your team, you do what
- 31:15Speaker 2: you think makes sense.
- 31:16Speaker 6: They're gonna be aggressive.
- 31:19Speaker 4: I expect the defense particularly will look more different than
- 31:24Speaker 4: people might expect.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Something to follow. We obviously will in the off season.
- 31:28Speaker 1: But stay with us for one more break. We'll come
- 31:30Speaker 1: back and tell you what's going on for the rest
- 31:31Speaker 1: of the week here at the Miller Electric Center. Jags
- 31:43Speaker 1: Am brought to you by dailies. It's nicer here.
- 31:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it'll take a little bit of time. That wasn't
- 31:51Speaker 5: really a hundred percent sure what to say to those
- 31:53Speaker 5: guys in there, because you don't really plan for what
- 31:57Speaker 5: you're gonna say after the season ends. Be fortunate to
- 32:02Speaker 5: be able to get together tomorrow, get the guys in there, communicate,
- 32:06Speaker 5: be able to swallow this one and keep it moving and.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Go and said he was a little bit of the
- 32:12Speaker 1: lost for words what to say to his team after
- 32:14Speaker 1: a game like that, And I don't think I have
- 32:17Speaker 1: the words either, But I will say the last couple
- 32:20Speaker 1: of months have been the most enjoyable I've had covering
- 32:23Speaker 1: football in quite some time. And I think that's what's
- 32:25Speaker 1: fun about something new and the opportunity and seeing it
- 32:29Speaker 1: come together. It feels like the beginning of something. It
- 32:33Speaker 1: doesn't feel like the end. You're upset that it's over. Obviously,
- 32:36Speaker 1: it's such a fun run to see, but I'm excited
- 32:39Speaker 1: to see what they do with it going forward.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Yeah, it was unexpected, right, I mean, eight consecutive wins,
- 32:44Speaker 2: and to see the quarterback take his level of performance
- 32:46Speaker 2: way up high in years past, in twenty seventeen, in
- 32:50Speaker 2: two thousand and seven, I mean, it didn't feel like
- 32:52Speaker 2: it felt like things were going to change dramatically. It
- 32:55Speaker 2: hasn't probably felt like this since well since nineteen ninety six,
- 32:58Speaker 2: where they won seven in a row and you just
- 33:00Speaker 2: knew it was the beginning of Mark and Fred and Fred.
- 33:03Speaker 2: When there Mark and Jimmy Keenan and Tony Brackens and
- 33:07Speaker 2: Kevin Hardy in the defense. So yeah, I mean, I
- 33:09Speaker 2: think the unexpected nature and the fact that it went
- 33:11Speaker 2: all the way through the holidays, right when it's so
- 33:14Speaker 2: much fun to watch football, to be a part of
- 33:16Speaker 2: a winning team Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's I mean, it
- 33:18Speaker 2: was a great ride, which is probably why I'm smiling
- 33:22Speaker 2: this morning, because I really enjoyed it myself.
- 33:24Speaker 4: They gave the team its pride back, and I think
- 33:31Speaker 4: by doing that, they gave the city its pride in
- 33:34Speaker 4: this team back beyond anything else. I believe it's sustainable.
- 33:41Speaker 4: I'd be surprised if it's not sustainable. There's no guarantees,
- 33:44Speaker 4: but I'm with you. This feels like you can't assume anything,
- 33:48Speaker 4: but it feels like something that people are going to
- 33:51Speaker 4: be able to enjoy for a while. And that was
- 33:52Speaker 4: the coolest part is how much people enjoyed it.
- 33:54Speaker 2: And I want to just put an emphasis point on
- 33:57Speaker 2: something I wrote for Quick Thoughts this week. You know,
- 34:00Speaker 2: the defense needed to prove they were really number one,
- 34:03Speaker 2: and this was their opportunity because at times it felt
- 34:05Speaker 2: like the run defense was good, but was it great?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yesterday proved it was great. Great. I mean, they shut
- 34:11Speaker 2: down James Cook and they shut down Jonathan Taylor. The
- 34:14Speaker 2: two best running backs in the league. I mean shut
- 34:16Speaker 2: them down. I thought Devon Hamilton was awesome yesterday and
- 34:20Speaker 2: he doesn't get enough credit. His teammates give it to him.
- 34:22Speaker 2: But Devon Hamilton is a guy who is worthy of
- 34:25Speaker 2: praise for what he did in the middle of that defense,
- 34:27Speaker 2: and I'm excited to see if they can keep that going.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Players will be in today clear things out. We will
- 34:32Speaker 1: be back with you on Wednesday as we kind of
- 34:34Speaker 1: go over what to expect in the off season upcoming,
- 34:37Speaker 1: and we'll talk a little bit about this finish. That'll
- 34:39Speaker 1: be our final show before we take a break, So
- 34:41Speaker 1: we'll see you back here on Wednesday on Jakes A.
- 34:43Speaker 6: M SA
