- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happen to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome.
- 0:22To the. Coop and let's start your day
- 0:24off in a fantastic way. Hey everybody, good morning.
- 0:28From the farm where it's so foggy this morning, it's crazy.
- 0:34So much rain yesterday and now it's just foggy and it looks
- 0:39like a jungle has exploded out here all over the place.
- 0:44And which brings me to the point of our conversation today.
- 0:47It's like how one factor can change so much so quickly.
- 0:52So think about it. Rain, OK?
- 0:55I water my stuff every day. I am out here.
- 0:58There are sprinklers, there are all kinds of hoses around this
- 1:03farm, and I am constantly walking out and watering things
- 1:07to make sure everything's getting enough water in the
- 1:09heat. Making sure they're taken care
- 1:12of, giving them the right nutrition besides the water,
- 1:15giving them food, making sure it's all done.
- 1:18And then you have a rainy day where the sun doesn't come out
- 1:23so bright, but the rain is intense.
- 1:25And I think it rained 3. I think the final number here
- 1:28was like 3 1/2 inches over the course of the whole day.
- 1:32And lo and behold, you wake up, you come out and everything
- 1:36looks so much different. It's crazy how one factor can
- 1:41change it. Now, have they been having water
- 1:43all along? Yes.
- 1:45Were they having exponential amounts of water?
- 1:48No. Because you always worry about
- 1:50over watering. And then, you know, Mother
- 1:53Nature takes over and says I'm dumping it all on here.
- 1:57And then you see what happens in a very different way.
- 2:00And it's like all of it at once, it just comes down and
- 2:04everything just went pop and blew up.
- 2:07And I got to tell you, it's extraordinary every time I see
- 2:10it. And I know this happens.
- 2:11I know it takes place, how 1 little factor can change so
- 2:16much. And in our world, it's the same
- 2:19thing. You have that one teacher, that
- 2:22one person, that one little extra thing that makes you go
- 2:26zoom and all of a sudden you take off.
- 2:30So the question is, where have you found in your life that you
- 2:35need that little factor? You need something doesn't have
- 2:38to be big. It can be small.
- 2:40It can be like, OK, I I need new pens.
- 2:44And I'm not even joking because sometimes when you sit and
- 2:47you're trying to write, this was an incident that we had a few
- 2:51years back when my son was younger and we were trying to
- 2:54teach him to really get get his penmanship better.
- 2:57And it was just arduous. And then I said, let's go find a
- 3:00good pen that you're going to really like to write with.
- 3:03And he said, I just want to have a pen that erases.
- 3:07And I was like, what? And he's like, yeah, if I had a
- 3:09pen that erased, then I wouldn't feel so stressed out about it.
- 3:12Now think about that statement from a very young child.
- 3:15I mean, it was like probably 7:00 or 8:00 at the time.
- 3:18And all of a sudden, it's just a, oh, I need a pen to erase.
- 3:22That's all you need to have this be good.
- 3:24Yes, that's all I need. OK, So I go on a hunt looking
- 3:27for pens to erase. And amazingly, I didn't find any
- 3:31good ones. They were all rough.
- 3:32And they always ripped the paper, which is what he could
- 3:35not stand. He he could not stand that that
- 3:39was what his problem was. He kept like, you know, writing.
- 3:42And then he would go to a race and it would RIP the paper.
- 3:44And then he would get frustrated.
- 3:45And none of us knew what was happening.
- 3:48So finally one of my clients mentions to me that she had
- 3:53found these pens and she, you know, they were online, they
- 3:57were part of a company that does journals and whatnot.
- 4:01And she said they have erasable pens and they're so awesome.
- 4:04And she was talking about it to me in the sense from the, from
- 4:07the journals being used. And I was like, oh, well, wait a
- 4:12second, my son's looking for that.
- 4:14And it was just like a very casual conversation about
- 4:18nothing that had to do with, you know, Lucas.
- 4:22However, all of a sudden, it became that way.
- 4:25And my goodness, it all just blew up from there.
- 4:29And, you know, I got him the pens.
- 4:31Voila, He doesn't mind writing anymore because they're easy to
- 4:35erase. And, you know, this is the crazy
- 4:37part of all of I think life in general is how sometimes things
- 4:42just show up for us and we're not 100% certain about the fact
- 4:46that, you know, we have this this intensity about things, but
- 4:52we do. And we don't realize that when
- 4:55we have this intensity, we don't like something or something's in
- 4:58our way that one little factor can change it.
- 5:01So he didn't even realize how he was acting or showing up with it
- 5:05at that level, but it was affecting everything.
- 5:07It was affecting stress for me. It was affecting him.
- 5:10And all of a sudden, that one little thing changed, just like
- 5:13the rain here on the farm. So I'm going to suggest to
- 5:17everybody. I'm going to suggest to
- 5:19everybody, look at all those little factors, figure them out.
- 5:23And let me tell you, when you do, you're going to be amazed at
- 5:26how quickly it can change something.
- 5:28All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I'll
- 5:30see you tomorrow. Bye.
